I don't feel like people have a nuanced enough view of Kory what she thinks about killing. She's not blindly wanting to murder criminals, nor is she delighted by the actions of murder. She sees murder as a necessity because of her upbringing in the middle of an existential war, and also as a way to regain autonomy on her life. Autonomy is a key theme in many of the people Kory chooses to kill.
The idea of autonomy over the body and her life is extremely important to Kory. This makes sense, Kory spends six years in slavery, her life not her own, and grew up knowing her planet could lose its own autonomy and freedom at any time.
When she was a slave, the few times that she was able to control her life in those times. Her first kill was her kill of what would become her last master, starting the chain of domino that would result in her freedom.
Tumblr media
Note her words: "His very touch sickened me". It wasn't just about her imprisonment or her anger, but about her body, her autonomy. She couldn't handle being touched like that anymore, and killed knowing that it would solve nothing, knowing that it would lead to more punishment for her later down the line.
Her next kill allowed her to escape, securing her freedom and her own autonomy.
Tumblr media
To escape she must pretend Kory has completely given in to her captors. That she is fine, even happy with the Gordonian touching her. But by doing this she is bringing him close, giving him the illusion of control over herself to secure her own freedom.
She is pretending to be a slave, while affirming to herself that she is still a soldier.
In this way we can see a dichotomy that has ruled Kory's life until now. On one side, you have succumbing to subjugation, which involved a loss of bodily autonomy. On the other side you had her claiming her freedom and her autonomy which comes with the need to kill or be destroyed.
In addition to this, you need to think of the context of Kory's upbringing. Of course Kory is used to killing her enemies. She grew up in a climate of fear in which there was a real possibility of total annihilation. Millions of her people died in the war that eventually lead her to being sold as a slave.
Tumblr media
She grew up during a society that could have been destroyed in war, where everyday killing was not a questions but an existential threat. Killing and war was literally the only way for her people to conserve their autonomy.
This disconnect between Dick/Donna and Kory is not because Kory is an alien, but because the Titans are living in a world where they are superheroes and Kory is living in a world where she is a solider. Would a Kory that didn't kill even been able to come out alive from war? From her enslavement? To her its about her autonomy and her independence, she doesn't have the luxury of morals, of thought, of choice.
Later we see Kory not change, but shift. She realizes that killing will never be easier for her again.
Tumblr media
This makes sense! her interpretation of killing has changed a lot because she's been exposed to a new environment. On earth she is not facing a literal war, she has real power, she has backup, she doesn't have to fight every second for her freedom and autonomy.
I think this is demonstrated in an incredibly narrative compelling way in Titans (1999) when Kory kills to give another character autonomy over her own body; Adaline Kane. Adaline is about to die, but her blood can still be harvested for Vandal Savage's experiments. She begs for death, instead of living that fate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kory gives it to her.
(much like Slade gave Joey in Titans Hunt but this post only has the space for one parallel right now)
When it comes to protecting the greater good, and especially when it comes to bodily autonomy Kory is not only willing to kill, but sees it as her duty.
Tumblr media
She's never stopped being a soldier, she's never stopped being the Tamaranian who was forced to kill and see her people die to preserve her home, but more than that, she never stopped being the little girl for whom killing was her only way of reclaiming her autonomy.

I just had my memory jog in my gaming section, to HSR, and remembered that Adventurine tried to kill himself in the dreams many times only to end up in the dream pool. Dude was making himself a guinea pig. What the hell?!

The amount of exclusively 'show/animated' DC Movies and series watchers that argues and tries to correct readers on comic content on discord, YouTube and Pinterest is so irritating and just honestly sad. Responded once to a commentator who said "Tim Drake has no good stories." I simply replied that 'Cause you don't read for sh*t'. And the dumbass comeback was "No, but I watch a lot of YouTube comic vlogs".
What the hell?!
Watching comic vloggers and not reading the stories yourself makes you qualify for an opinion that wasn't even your opinion in the first place? I bet he doesn't even listen to those vloggers. Had an argument of a big 'Jason fan' about how comic Jason was this big misunderstood chap who only put drug dealers in a bag. Told him straight up that Jason did more things than that. I love Jason Todd, not owning up to the good and villain era of Jason Todd is underestimating and under valuing his character and growth. Jason killed innocents, he started gang wars, his whole shtick of controlling crime in Gotham involved collateral damage. But no... He just want to make Batman kill the Joker. That's only part of it. Dude if you're not even a comic reader, wtf are you doing in this forum? Don't get me started on how an asshole Batman is, how there's a girl robin, how Cassandra Cain and Kate Kane are different people. Yes! Tim, Steph and Damian were the only ones who wore pants until New 52 and Dan Mora (I love the guy but the no pants was Dick's homage to his heritage, Jason wore it and Carry Kelly wore that sh*t on an animated series as robin) How there are other comics to read other than about the Batfamily?! I know DC is mostly crap nowadays but Does no one read anymore? Exclusively show watchers are annoying AF and the worst thing is no one is gatekeeping them from the comics. It's right there. There are always people who want them to read this and that. They could just pick it up and start. I didn't even start western comics when I was a kid, I was in University and all because of research. There was already New 52 and the start of Rebirth but the stories were a bit crap so I looked backwards. Reading is good for the soul and form your opinions after.

Very brave of me to make a set of illustrations that's 90% hands
Anyway. This is about my personal theories/headcanons about the vision requirements
EDIT: I made a post elaborating on my theories/headcanons! Check it out if you wanna know a bit more :D
EDIT (again): Just so you know (bc ppl keep mentioning it in the tags), I am well aware Archons don't personally give out visions😅 The Archons' hands are supposed to be more symbolic, since it IS heavily implied they have a subconcious affect on who gets one, even if they don't actually have any active say in it

That's why he's set to inherit Wayne Enterprises even before he became majority shareholder.
Has a rich background? ✅
Had a knack for lying? ✅
History of embezzlement? ✅
Oh, and since it is reminiscent of america, him being born and bred Gothamite and White is definitely an edge over foreign Dick, Damian and Cass.
Bruce Wayne (seeing Duke walk past his office): Duke.
Duke backwards walks to Bruce’s office.
Duke: Sup?
Bruce: Did you check your bank account? The direct deposit should’ve hit.
Duke: The what? Oh you were serious about that?
Bruce: Of course, you’re not only my son, but you do work for me and you deserve an income.
Duke: Thanks dude, but I can’t take your money I work at the library.
Bruce: Duke, trust me. You deserve this. I do it for all my kids… except Tim.
Duke: Why not Tim?
Bruce: Long story… he owns part of my company, plus he- he definitely embezzled a lot of my funds before I noticed so him working at my company is his paycheck.
Duke (alarmed): That was him?!
Bruce: Yeah, but that’s not important currently. You enjoy your first payhcheck and I’m proud of you.
Duke: Thanks man.
Duke leaves the office, checking his phone as he walks to his room. He nearly drops his phone seeing the four digits in his bank account that had five dollars in it three days ago.
Duke: Three- Three thousand dollars?! Whoooooooo! I’m eating good tonight! No wait, game stop here I come!
Duke runs out the house passing by Stephanie and Jason.
Duke: I can finally buy a PlayStation!
Jason: Wait until he finds out it’s a monthly payment.
Stephanie: I’ll tell him later. Want to go tell Tim about it?
Jason: 100% yes.

I got into comics late. I was in college. The way old comics tend to gloss over abuse is so prevalent. Dick Grayson was r***d twice, Kon was taken advantage of and was with a groomer. It's messed up all around
Sometimes I read comics with Kon and wanna cry. The adults in his life should have been protecting him but instead they were taking advantage of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In WF3 there’s a competition of grown women who line up and kiss Kon so that he can decide who’s kiss in the most like kryptonite, something he hasn’t even been alive long enough to experience. But here’s the kicker.
Tumblr media
They’re all cops. Grown police women lined up to kiss a child, created a whole event to do it, and nobody saw anything wrong with that. A police officer’s whole job is to protect the innocent, aka children, and yet they do this to Kon.

'Tim only saw the positive side of Bruce' doesn't sit quite right considering what the kid went through. Bruce crashed his date, drove him to quit on his birthday and that whole situation just showed how much of an asshole Bruce is. He also left Tim with a zealot Azrael/Batman and when that all went to sh*t. Told the then 15 year old that he's supposed to be his conscience. Tim was also there when Dick and Bruce threw hands over the Azrael situation. That's f***d up sh*te all around
Where do fans get the idea that Bruce neglected Dick? For fucks sake they were sharing a bed until like 1960.
He’s a helicopter parent who often complains loudly that his son has friends and in most continuities Dick is literally running to the titans to get rid of his smother.
He’s overprotective. Dick is literally the only Robin he tried to bench. Several times.
It all stems from how he lost his parents, it’s a normal reaction parents have if they have gone through great loss.
Jason he’s actually pretty healthy with. I think he learned from the fact Dick is hiding from him, smothering isn’t working.
Jason dies and he goes back to once more trying to smother Dick but more unhealthy this time since he’s outright trying to control him. This is too a trauma response but he doesn’t get past it this time.
I don’t think he ever had a parent relationship with Tim. Controversial sure, but all the time Tim was a child he had parents he could go home to which meant Tim only saw the positive side of Bruce.
Now when Damian was introduced, I would call that neglect. It took awhile in canon continuity before he even started parenting him and he stopped being as controlling of Dick, meaning he’s trying to overcome his trauma
