November 14th World Diabetes Day 💙 Launch in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the rapid rise of diabetes around the world. The day marks the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with, Charles Best, James Collip and John Macleod, the team that first discovered and refined insulin therapy. Now more than ever we need to keep ourselves clean. Not only physically, by taking showers, but by taking care of ourselves by taking care of our mind and soul. . . . Take care of your mind by reading, challenging yourself to learn something new, changing a habit, by understanding another point of view not just yours, volunteering, writing a journal, and by listening to other genres of music, to just name a few. By renewing your mind you grow, your mind expands and you become wiser. . . . Take care of your soul by silencing the noise surrounding your thoughts, take time to be alone, meditating, by painting/drawing, take a walk though the woods/surround yourself with nature, by laughing and hugging more, by saying I Love You more often and meaning it, cutting negativity out of your life, and if needed avoid social media. When you give your soul some space to breath, you will start to feel better from the inside and your outside will reflect that change. . . . Try living purposefully. It is not easy, I know. How do you train your puppy? 🐶 . . . Are you hands-on learner like her, or more methodical like him? 🧐🧐 . . . Learning is not one-size-fits-all, so when your child does not learn/comprehends the same way others do, help your child to bloom by allowing her/him the space to wonder. From potty training to reading and everything in between, children will learn at their own pace. Forcing them will only stagger their growth. . . .
