Imagine being so miserable that you see someone talking abt their favorite character on their account in their bubble and you feel the need to harass them and shame them for it. First off, I'd like to thank you for pointing out a flaw of mine. You're right, I shouldn't have presented my points via hate and snobbery, and for that I apologize. If you can redirect me to any posts I've done (either by reblog or comment) that'd be greatly appreciated! I can then analyze my comments and see if it's done in a way that would come across as harassment, and try to refrain from using such tone in the near future.

As far as I'm aware, I don't actively engage in the 'Tim Drake' tag, let alone actively search for his fans. Therefore, I could've forgotten if there were any comments I've left in bad faith, as I've checked my reblogs and posts and there hasn't been anything that might come across as hate speech. Again, if you could be so kind, please redirect me to any posts that might come across as hateful and I will apologize to the OP.

Hello, hi! So, like, the things that you mentioned about the al-Ghuls very much had something to do with their race, actually.

First off, the thing about Talia drugging Bruce and sexually assaulting him? That's been retconned, meaning that it doesn't exist anymore and, therefore, isn't canon. In fact, Bruce and Talia conceived Damian on the night of their wedding— where both parties are willing participants and consenting adults.

The idea of Talia raping Bruce (or using any other means to conceive Damian, really) was first curated by Grant Morrison when he brings back the idea of Damian as the biological son of Bruce Wayne in 2006. He then admitted to having been 'mismembering' details from 'Son of the Demons' and produced the SA storyline. He never apologized for it though. However, I see that doesn't matter, since people like you still exist.

(not so fun fact, Talia is also a victim of sexual abuse herself by Bane, so much so that she wishes death).

Here's a fun thing to know— both Talia and Ra's are pre-established characters, and if you read any comics prior to their character assassination, you'd see how their current 'canon' self is almost the exact opposite of their OG selves.

It's not that we deny their wrong-doings because of their race as they represent Arab characters, it's because the writings are like that because they are POC.

In the original run, Talia literally gave up Damian for adoption because she doesn't want him to suffer in the League or even because of her by association. She lied to Bruce about miscarrying the baby because she sees how Bruce has become so overprotective of her and the baby to the point he is jeopardizing his own safety, thus saving him.

She is a very loving person and one of her dilemma and character nuance as a person is that she couldn't choose between her love for Bruce as well as her loyalty for her father. Her love quite literally doomed her.

So tell me why would she suddenly doubled back and creates clones of Damian? Why would Talia, someone who struggles with adopting her father's means to his end, suddenly being a-okay with killing her own son? What does she stand to gain for any of that?

You guessed it! Racist writings!

You could make an argument when it comes to Ra's, since he's already morally grey even before— but first you need to understand his character.

Ra's al-Ghul is an eco-terrorist; his whole deal is that he wanted to create a better environment, even through unconventional means.

He believes all life to be just as worthy and precious as another. He believes all life is worth being saved though after all the hell that humans has put the Earth and it’s children through he has grown bitter and angry. He’s experienced the pit madness over and over, it’s likely simply a part of who he is.

Also, Ra's isn't devoid of emotions. He understands empathy and such. He understands cruelty and such. He feels guilty over Jason's death because he feels it is overtly cruel.

It's also worth mentioning that Ra's is the world's oldest physicist and had been part of the medicine world.

I'm not here to deny everything and anything that Ra's had done— he could very much punish Damian to the point of abuse. I, however, would deny things when it's clear to have been created due to racism and nothing else.

I blocked that person, because fuck you, I curate my spaces as everyone should learn to do.

But I haven't stopped thinking about it.

Because, while I was right in the sense that I never mentioned their race or skin tone, I know they are not white (I hate when they are colour washed), I understand that people center their evil doings around them not being white.

(Sidenote: I'm always looking out for behaviour in myself that could be less than appropriate (call me out if I'm being racist, because I believe in learning and changing and bettering oneself to be a decent human being), but in this instance, I'm right)

It's canon that Ra's put Damian in a box with no water and food for a undisclosed amount of time in the desert.

It's canon that Talia created clones of Damian, they were flawed and disregarded them.

It's canon that Ra's created Respawn without anyone's knowledge and tortured him for years.

It's canon that Talia drugged Bruce and SA'd him.

It's canon that Damian was trained since he could hold a knife as he were an adult.

In none of those instances, I believe race played any part. Race has nothing to do with evil, crime, and wrongdoings.

Make them white and maintain these canon events, and you are still disgusted by it. Make them Asian, black, Latin, animals, aliens... these things are still wrong and abusive.

So, no, I don't use them as bad and evil because they are Arabs, I do it because they are.

And you can change the stories, erase these things, make them good, race does not play any part of it.

If a person is good or bad, it's never about race. It's about who they are inside.

Making them some sort of mouthpiece to portray how loving/understanding other characters are by loving/understanding them, making them obscenely obsessive with a BatFam member (Talia with Bruce, Damian with Dick, and Ra's with Tim for some reason?), depicting them actively violent/borderline uncivilized people who's always vouching for harm/death, making Damian inheriting all of his positive traits (ie: his love for environment and animals alike, his medical knowledge and urgency, etc) from the predominantly white family household— oh I need them gone.

Bruce loves him so much that he went insane when Damian died and was willing to sacrifice his own parents to have him back.

Do you think Damian knows just how wanted he was?

Does he know how excited Bruce and Talia were to be parents? To have a baby? They were married and in love and they were going to be a family. They were happy.

Does he know how heartbroken Bruce was when he thought Talia lost the baby? Their baby. Their little prince.

When someone tells him that his dad chose to have his brothers but got stuck with him, I want him to be able to say "No. My Baba wanted me so much from the day he found out Mama was pregnant."

I hope he does. I hope Bruce tells him. I hope Talia reminds him.
