Ooh, the IEP/504 thing is really interesting! I’ve known what an IEP is for ages (always known lots of kids who had accommodations) and I personally strongly suspect/headcanon that Deuce has some sort of learning disability, but I’ve never thought about what an IEP for him might look like before.

Another student I think would probably require accommodations is Silver, due to his sleeping curse. What do you think an IEP for him might look like?

I’d definitely like to start off by saying thank you for your feedback and enjoying what I thought about Deuce! I’ve been sitting on that idea for a bit and finally thought I’d best share it now than never! Glad I did! Coming from experience, I can strongly say that Deuce would have a learning disability but that’s what is so cool about him, it shows the reality in TWST. This helps students who may feel uncomfortable with their own learning disabilities feel more comfortable and confident as they are seeing a character just like them walking in their shoes. Well done, Disney and Yana!

Without further ado, let’s dive into this!

For Silver, his situation is definitely one not many would come across but that does not mean it doesn’t happen. For starters I’d like to say that what he may require is actually the 504 Plan rather than the IEP, not saying he can’t have an IEP but if he gets one it will be for some small things.

Let’s refresh on what an IEP really is first:

Provides specialized instruction and services to help students access the curriculum

Includes annual goals and progress tracking

Requires a certified special education teacher or IEP case manager

Includes interventions like reading programs or speech therapy

Silver’s situation would technically fall under narcolepsy even if it’s technically a “curse” it still is narcolepsy in that sense so let’s dive into how this would work for him.

For Silver’s Plan:

More time on tests/quizzes. He is a sleepy guy, he needs to have some extra time to complete his work, whether it be within the class period itself or after school he should be given the accommodation to be able to do this.

Copy of the teacher’s notes. Silver is known to drift off in the middle of a lesson and will miss things, if he does he will require a teacher’s copy of the lesson for that day. This will help him complete his assignments and study.

Ability to turn in late work. This will allow him to catch up on his assignments that may be marked “M” or “Missing” in the grade book and may be bringing his grades down. If this accommodation is in place then he can be able to do his homework and turn it in late given his circumstances.

Be allowed to go to the nurse for rest. If needed, Silver should be able to go to the nurse to rest if his condition gets unbearable. If he raises his hand to say he needs to step out and tend to his situation he will be granted rest in the nurses office without question. - 30 minute nap breaks to manage his exhaustion.

Speech therapy. Silver struggles with certain social cues and understanding certain things so this will benefit him in the long run as he will learn to understand what is being said to him.

Be allowed the opportunity to work from his room. Silvers could work from his room at certain times of the day or on specific days to help with his exhaustion, sometimes being in a comfortable place may be helpful for him.

I feel like he would also require these goals for an IEP:

Understanding when to communicate needs to the teacher.

(Silvers seems to have a difficulty with this, he usually falls asleep before he can communicate.)

Understanding when to advocate for himself in classroom settings.

(Silvers definitely struggles with this in the story… so he will need to work on this in speech therapy by working through scenarios with the therapist.)

Nothing too fancy, these were just two I thought of at the top of my head.

I have a Deuce HC…

Deuce actually needs a 504 Plan/IEP (Individualized Education Plan) with specific accommodations to help him with his learning and overall education.

For background, I used to work in Special Education as a volunteer teacher so these accommodations are based on what I believe he would need to succeed. Some of you may be wondering what an IEP or 504 Plan is, I know, big words and big number. But it is actually a lot easier to understand than you may think!

An IEP provides specialized instruction, while a 504 Plan provides accommodations to your student. What is specialized instruction? Simple, it basically helps students access the curriculum and contains annual goals and progress tracking. The student will also be assigned a “case manager” for their IEP meetings. As for 504 Plans, it provides accommodations to help students access the general education curriculum. However, it does NOT require specialized instruction, of course it can be flexible and students CAN have both.

I think his accommodations would be the following as someone who knows the system:

Extra time on tests and quizzes, sometimes he needs extra time to complete his tests and this accommodation will help him with that. By allowing him extra time on tests/quizzes he can put more effort in and not feel rushed.

Turning assignments/homework in past the due date, this will help him work on his homework more in depth and even ask questions about it so he can be able to succeed in his tasks.

Copy of the teacher’s notes, this will give him the resources to do his assignments and even help him with his studying.

Being allowed to use a calculator for math related assignments, this should be self explanatory, if he struggles with basic algebra (which is canon) he may require this accommodation.

Access to a speech therapist, given his background with his behaviour this may be a great opportunity for him to improve and work on his overall communication skills so he can work on controlling outbursts and overall communication.

TWST SPOILERS - Riddle’s Dream

WARNING!! This post contains MAJOR spoilers for the latest TWST JP update as well as personal thoughts/analysis!!

Just wanted to point these out…

One is of his mother holding him as an infant and the other of his parents together and what appears to be his dad is holding him…

I feel like he may have been seriously touch starved back then and honestly that’s why so many of the photos are of him either cuddled up next to his mum, holding his parents hands, or being held…. He truly craves that….

He had to grow up fast, not because he was given siblings to take care of and help with, but because he was quite literally his parents’ trophy child they likely conceived purely out of the desire to produce a child good enough to call an heir to the Rosehearts name, and what they may likely deem a “superior” bloodline as it’s clear his parents are quite successful people. He HAD to be the best, he HAD to grow up fast. I don’t doubt he was loved, well, likely not in the way we would expect it as I’m quite sure Mama Rosehearts showed “love” in different ways as she probably was raised worse and is trying but does not understand the concept of motherly love and genuine care for her son.

Think of it like this… if a person only ever grew up in a place where “love” was shown by let’s say a mountain of chores or extra homework while living in a sheltered environment then that person will likely do the same if they produce their own offspring. If all someone knows is a horrid environment and perceives that as normal they are more likely to keep that up and believe what they experienced from day one is indeed normal without the outside influence telling them otherwise.

Riddle’s childhood was stripped from him and he was quite literally given the whole Rapunzel in the tower scenario that it shows, he was given the whole “mother knows best” treatment minus the catchy song I’m 99.9% of you have had stuck in your heads at least once. That’s why in his dream he wants to break free of those chains and let loose, have some late teenage rebellion, curse out the authorities, live in a lively household where photos of him and his friends are on the walls and shows genuine love. Shows him being held in the arms of his parents.

I do t think he was held much as a child if he dreams of it, he probably craves that feeling. A feeling poor Riddle may not fully know or remember…

Hot take, Enstars Tumblr but it genuinely needs to be said…

You can be unhappy and utterly displeased with the ongoing situation with AKATSUKI but that doesn’t mean you openly and actively harass people who want to keep playing the game because they want to. I get it, you want to have a full boycott, I do too but let’s put this into perspective…

Sometimes people play these games continuously because they are using it as a literal lifeline. No that is not for dramatic effect, it is true. I worked in Special Education and am a student teacher and I can say with absolute confidence that some of my own students have openly admitted that they have that one game that is legit keeping them grounded and helping them desperately as they are not in the best of states. One of my students I was assigned back when I worked in Special ED was like this with the game Roblox. You could not take that from him unless you wanted him to spiral and have serious mental breakdowns and even cause self harm. These games, no matter which one it may be, can actually be someone’s saving grace from crumbling to pieces.

Do NOT shame people for playing Ensemble Stars, that game could quite literally be keeping one of your moots alive. It could be keeping someone from doing the most unthinkable things to themselves and you are shaming them. Be gentle and be kind to them, gently and politely educate them and even share ways they can boycott without needing to stop playing the games.

Let them sign petitions, let them go F2P for now on, share links and information about the situation, pirate the anime and the music, and even inform them of the email spamming fans are doing to HE to get their points across. Hell, even support small artists who can draw you Enstars art instead of buying merch from HE!

I understand why you are mad to see people playing the games, I get it, but harassing people for playing when you literally don’t know their situation is appalling. Imagine if you told someone who is trying so desperately not to crumble to sink their lifeboat, how would that go, hm? You’d lose someone so beautiful and incredible who just wanted a slice of happiness to hold close.

And another thing, if you do want to play the game but not continuously, do a “cheat day” where you play for a short period of time and log off. Boycott in other ways, it’s not that big of a deal. You are a free person and can make your own decisions.

I don’t care if you lot come after me for speaking my peace, I’m only standing up for those who desperately need it. I’ve said my peace. I know some will send vile anon messages because of this but I genuinely don’t care.

This is very, VERY valid, Marion, I completely understand. Like… I love Enstars to pieces, it honestly hurts what is happening and I’m not an AKATSUKIP at all but the thought of knowing what’s happening mixed with what we as fans have seen it can be a bit much.

I’m F2P too for the most part, I only ever spent on EN during the Sanrio event but that was practically ages ago at this rate so I assume that action was fine?? Maybe not but anyway I understand not wanting to spend a dime on HE as their actions recently have been rather…. Well… sh*tty.

But personally, if people want to play the game I don’t care, that’s their decision. We may not all agree on that one thing but at the end of the day it may actually be someone’s saving grace in some way. That game may be someone’s anchor to the world, that may sound rather dramatic but some people form such deep attachments to games and even characters it literally acts as a lifeboat for them. It keeps them from sinking. Enstars, despite all that is happening, may be saving someone’s life right now as they know the second they start to not play they will eventually crumble.

Marion, if you want to play for the cards on Enstars that doesn’t make you a bad person, if anything I truly don’t think caving once is a terrible thing. Let’s be honest here, we all indulge in something from time to time as a “cheat day” so think of it like that. Don’t beat yourself up over it too much, at the end of the day this is all up to you. You can always boycott in other ways if you decide to cave in and go for those cards, you can spread awareness, or even participate in the email spam that is planned for that day (see attached post).

Sometimes it’s healthy to have a cheat day. Yes, HE still is on Public Enemy No. 1 status but just keep F2P and I honestly think you’ll be okay. If you ever feel like it’s too much just tell yourself “ykw? I had my fun but I think that’s it for now…” and take a breather.

wasn’t planning on making this but i

i wanted to say as a person who plays pjsk and enstars (strictly f2p- am not giving HE the satisfaction they want) who was excited about the crossover before the akatsuki event, i, myself, will play for the cards on pjsk for my own personal enjoyment. i am not sure about enstars- as much as i want the cards on there too, the boycott situation has me stressed out. i have friends who unfortunately don’t know or unaware of the situation (idek if they keep up with the game at all) so really, i am a little on edge.

i love the game with all of my heart and i just hate how the company handles its characters compared to helios rising heroes atm.

i will get reprimanded for this but my heart goes out to the akatsukiPs who had to witness their unit suffer for HE’s actions. i want to play the upcoming collab event without the stress of the boycott weighing me down.

however you feel about the current situation, please know that i am a fan who only wants to play a rhythm game and see her favorites on screen.

It is Winter so Mondstadt is coated in its pearly white blanket and for you, you are excited since winter is here and you cannot wait to experience the joy with your lovely boyfriend, Kaeya. Speaking of Kaeya, a firm pair of arms wrapped around your waist from behind as a flirty sly voice that always makes you wanna squeal.  “Hello my dear.” Kaeya spoke as he whispered in your ear. “You look like you want to leave and run out in the cold but I would advise against it since we don’t want to repeat last time.”

You could look away as memories of the last winter appear in your mind. You went a bit too crazy, playing with the snow and you got sick for the remainder of it. Jean’s disapproval glare still haunts you to this day.

A sigh left your lips. Kaeya is right..history will repeat itself if you pull that stunt again. “Okay, Kae.” you spoke with a huff. “I will not pull that stunt again. I do not want Jean to glare at me with disapproval.” The cavalry Captain laughed at this and pinched your cheeks. “That is a good girl so you do follow orders. Bravo.” the man teased which earned him a punch on the stomach. “O-Ow! Hahah. That hurt babe.” Kaeya says as he looks up to see your flustered expression while you try your damndest to not melt at the praise. Kayea won’t lie that he found it cute but if he admits it then you will punch him again which he did not want. “Come. Let us go. I want to see your face lit up when we go outside.”

Well Kaeya does not have to say it twice when you are already out of the room, out of the house and outside. He only chuckles and shakes his head with an affectionate smile before following you after putting his coat on. But when he opened the door, he was reminded yet again why you got sick. Your footprints can be seen from where he is at to the gate of Mondstadt. ‘I forgot how fast she is in Winter. Looks like I need to tape something on her back so she will be easily found.’ the man thought to himself before following the footprints to the gate of Mondstadt where you were waiting for Kaeya. “There you are.” He spoke up after approaching you. “I always wonder why Lisa calls you winter rabbit and she is right.” He chuckles when you pout at him. “Haha, don’t worry. I found it cute.”

The crunchy sounds when you and Kaeya walk in the snow hand in hand fills the air in comfortable silence. “So, dear. How was your babysitting with Klee?” Kaeya asked as you suddenly perked up and started to rant about it. He always loves seeing you smile, hearing you rant about anything that comes to your mind makes him want to love you more and more. “Ah. You join Klee in fish bombing? No wonder Grandmaster Jean looks so done.” the man chuckled as you huffed. “Well in my defense, I never want to miss this opportunity and Klee’s puppy dog eyes won me over.” This made Kaeya burst out laughing as he knew you love children but those puppy dog eyes are always your weakness. “That is you alright.” Kayea hum before looking at the view with you at starnatch cliff.

“You know..” Kaeya started. “We have been together for 3 years. You see my flaws but never judge me for it.” You turn to glance at your boyfriend but you listen to him. “You stay by my side when the world is against me.” Kaeya reaches his hand to his eyepatch and takes it off, revealing a scar over his eye with his iris is the same color but his lens are black. “I want to live the rest of my life with you..” Kaeya turns around, gets on his knees and pulls out a ring box. “Will you make me the happiest man alive…and marry me?” He asked you as you were shocked and surprised. You always talk about wanting to marry Kaeya for life and you thought Kayea will just mess with you but he actually listens. Your eyes began to get glossy with tears as you nodded your head. “Yes! A million times yes.” A warm genuine smile appears on Kaeya’s face before he stands up, slips the ring in your ring finger before pulling you in a warm kiss. You were sobbing in happiness as your dream finally came true so Kaeya lifted you up bridal style and walked the way back to Mondstadt to share the news.

Summary: Epel comes back from Spelldrive practice thinking he could manage the ladies' attention now. Vil brings him back to reality.

Vil sighed as Epel came back from Spelldrive practice. His clothes were dirtier than the garden, his face full of dust, and he seemed to be bleeding from his nose. Must have been another broom crash.

Epel only admired his physique in the mirror and smirked.

"Hell yeah, this will get the ladies!"

Vil raised an eyebrow then cackled at the pretentious affirmation. This was also his cue to a lecture. But Epel wouldn't have it this time.

He turned to Vil and opened his arms.

"Look at me!" He started. "I'm cool and I'm charming!" Turning back to the mirror, he took his goggles off from his head and held it in his hand. "Debonair and disarming. That's me to a T!" He continued as he passed his hand in his hair.

Vil scoffed and his eyes widened. 'Debonair'!? Where had Epel learnt that!? But said boy was back to the mirror.

"Take a look at me!" He groaned upon seeing Vil's face through the glass. "Don't need no fandangos, I got all of the angles." Epel frowned, turning back once more to Vil, "Just look at me!"

Vil shook his head. Pretentious potato. Epel had qualities, certainly, but with that attitude and that physique? He wasn't sure if ladies would really come.

With another sigh, Vil left the common room to go to his bedroom. But of course, Epel wasn't done. And Vil knew it.

"Look at me!" Epel demand.

"Look at you." Vil opened the door to his room, to which Epel followed.

"I ain't no beginner," The arguments kept coming, "I'm a natural winner, that's me to a T!"

"Take a look at me!"

"Take a look at you."

Vil sat by his dresser and crossed his arms as Epel kept talking.

"I can sing acapella, I'm a hell of a fella!" Came with a smirk followed by an annoyed frown. "Just look at me!"

Vil laughed and stood up then leaned down, easily towering his freshman.

"You know nothin' at all about ladies," The dormleader stated, "Let me give you a piece of advice. You're headin' for nothin' but trouble, you'll be paying a hell of a price."

The fairest queen pulled his poisoned apple to his mirror. In front of the glass again, Vil placed himself behind Epel and held his chin, moving the younger's head to show him better his sullied face.

" 'Cos you think you're a bit of a killer, that the ladies will fall at your feet?" Vil cackled. "Hah!" Then his face morphed back to a scowl. "They could eat you for supper, and spit you right out on the street!"

"Look at me!"

"Look at you."

Epel shouldered Vil off then opened another victorious smirk.

"Your resistance will crumble, get ready to rumble!" He balled his fist and punched the air. "1, 2, 3!"

Vil caught the third punch and yanked Epel close again.

"Take a look at you!"

"Look at me!"

Epel wasn't done. Oh no, he was far from done.

"I'm as fit as a fiddle, so let's hide it a little. Just you and me."

But Vil wasn't done too.

"It's a very bad time to be cocky, when you're out there on the pull." He waved his hand to the window then pointed a finger to Epel. "Hold your horse like a jockey. And don't rush in like a bull."

The poisoned apple crossed his arms and almost sat on the bed. Vil let out a scream before Epel could even attempt putting his butt down on the pristine bed.

"You have to be patient with ladies, and tell them what they want to hear." Vil listed as he raised his fingers. Yes, maybe Epel could reeeally use some advice. "Keep a steady aim on your target. Don't shoot like a young pistoleer!" Followed by a sigh, Vil sat Epel on his chair by the dresser and started brushing his hair.

“Take a good look at yourself, for goodness’ sake! All the ladies are laughin'! Ask yourself why.” He chastised and kept the steady brushing. “Take a good look at yourself, and you will see-” The fairest queen paused to find his words. “-a natural loser, take it from me.” He nodded as Epel gasped and fully turned his head to face Vil, but the queen only made him turn his head back to face the mirror.

“Look at me! I ain't no beginner, a natural winner! That's me to a T!” Epel was back on his first arguments. “Take a look at me! I can sing acappella, I'm a hell of a fella! Just look at me!”

Well, Vil could repeat himself to this potato.

“Take a good look at yourself, for goodness’ sake! All the ladies are laughin'! Ask yourself why.”

“Look at me! I ain't no beginner, a natural winner! That's me to a T!”

“Take a good look at yourself, and you will see! A natural loser, take it from me.”

“Take a look at me! I can sing acappella, I'm a hell of a fella! Just look at me!”

Epel glared at Vil through the glass. Vil would have to repeat himself. Again.

“You’re a natural loser-“

“I’m a natural winner-“

……..

“Take it from me!” Vil finished with one last brush in Epel’s hair.

“Look at me!” Epel banged his hand on the dresser and yelped at the pull he felt in his hair.

“Shower now potato, no ifs, buts or ands.” Vil said with this motherly vibe he transmitted. There was no way to refuse him this time.
