You never wanted it to be like this. Of course, you wanted your sister to live! She was the sweetest little thing, her plump rosy cheeks looking like they could melt any second, and that adorable smile when she called you “Big sister!”—it was too much to bear. After seeing her, you just knew you had to do this for her. I mean, it was just an arranged marriage, you could break it off later if you wanted to! Plus, you were half fae and half Y/A, which meant you had a long life ahead of you. What would a couple of centuries in a marriage be compared to all that time?

Your mother’s pregnancy was almost a miracle. She was weak, and trying for another child was risky. You were only four and a half when your sister was born, so you don’t remember much. But the maids told stories about how your mother struggled and made a deal with the late queen consort of the palace to protect both of them: your marriage to Malleus. The day your sister was born, no one let you into the room. You remember crying, feeling helpless while your mother and Malleus’s grandmother were in there. Later, they told you both of them were healthy, and you were so relieved.

Fast forward about a year, and your sister was thriving. She was extremely healthy both physically and mentally, and your mother felt great too! You were delighted until you overheard some staff talking about your engagement. You found out before you were supposed to, and it felt like your whole world crashed down! You had to marry some random heir without a say in it? It was so unfair!

You rushed to your mother, bursting into the room where she was rocking your sister in a bejeweled rocker. “Mother!” you cried, and she looked up, surprise in her eyes.

“Oh dear, what has gotten into you?” She wrapped her arms around you, her comforting presence overwhelming as tears filled your eyes.

“Why do I have to marry some random guy?!” you yelled, frustration spilling over.

“Where did you hear that from?” she asked, her voice calm but clearly concerned.

“Don’t lie! It’s been going around for a while! I’m not stupid!” You clenched your fists, fighting back the rage building inside you. But your mother just held you tighter.

“Oh, Y/N, I had to. It was for the safety of your sister and me.” Her words felt sharp and heavy, leaving you with a sinking feeling in your stomach.

A few months later, the day of your debutante ball arrived, and you were a bundle of nerves. You were only 15 and dressed to the nines, with everyone watching you like hawks. The grand ballroom was filled with aristocrats, laughter, and the sound of clinking glasses. Your heart raced as you stepped into the spotlight. You didn’t even know what Malleus looked like yet—everything about him was a mystery. You imagined some tall, dark, and handsome figure, but was that even close to who he really was?

As the night went on, you mingled with a group of aristocrats who were charming and full of themselves. One teased you about being the “newcomer” while another complimented your dress, the fabric shimmering under the candlelight. They seemed so confident and full of stories, and you felt slightly at ease for a moment.

But even surrounded by laughter, the thought of your upcoming marriage loomed over you. Would the mysterious Malleus be handsome? Would he care about you at all? You pushed those thoughts aside, trying to enjoy the night. You had this moment to be free, to laugh and twirl in your beautiful dress, forgetting just for a little while that your fate was being sealed with a stranger.

You glanced around the room, watching couples dance and twirl, feeling the weight of your own impending future pressing down on you. The music played, and for a moment, you tried to envision what it would be like to meet Malleus. Would he be kind? Would he understand your dreams? As the night went on, you couldn’t shake the thought: was there any chance at happiness for you in this arranged marriage?

Little did you know, your life was about to take a turn you never expected, one that would intertwine your fate with Malleus in ways that would change everything.

Opera-san from m!ik/wtdsik and illumi from hxh are really similar.

I feel like Illumi has traits that aren’t spoken about as much in the HXH fandom. like i feel if you two were married, he would come up to you and be like “you know (child’s name or killua) said that if you don’t kiss me that they’d hate you.” And you can just tell he wants some kisses but is too embarrassed or ask. I feel like he’d joke but you can’t tell if he’s serious or not with the stonic face.

With this, i feel Opera-San from m!ik/wtdsik is similar to Illumi in a way. Extremely powerful, stonicnface, joking with that same stonic face. Like they’d be similar to Illumi by saying “Iruma kun said if you don’t kiss me, he’ll hate you.” Leaking a sort of aura similar to bloodlust but harmless, and then if you say something like “no he wouldn’t” to either of them, they would just be like “hes my (brother/child) how would i not know?” Or opera-san would be like “wow so are you saying i’m lying, i live with iruma-kun 24/7 how would i not know.”

I also feel like those two would often ask for affection in discreet ways, you’re laying in bed next to them and they suddenly rub up closer to you, trying to hint at it. Or after a long day of work, you may just be sitting in the edge of your bed and they come and just lay their head on your lap. Opera-san definitely purrs, no doubt.

Malleus was ecstatic—no, beyond ecstatic! when you agreed to visit his castle and his home in Briar Valley. He was nervous, unsure if you were going to like it or not. He wanted to teleport you there but first decided to show you around the town, so he decided on a carriage. It was going to be a long drive, you thought to yourself. 

“This was one of my favorite places to visit when I was younger; I snuck off a lot out of the palace.” You could see a slight,  dumb smile plastered on his face. You listened along, enjoying the lively view. You could truly see the light in his eyes, figuratively and physically. 

By the time you arrived, it was pretty dark already, but neither yours nor Malleus’s excitement faded. Therefore, you two decided to explore it, whether it was extremely dark or not. He first wanted to make sure, though; after all, you were so weak. Compared to him,. 

“Are you sure you don’t need a nap? We can do it tomorrow.” Malleus suggested, worried about your health as it was the top priority, well, to him at least. You simply nodded, ecstatic to look around. 

He waited for the carriage to come to a full stop, with a butler opening the carriage door as he stepped out, and then dismissed the butler. He put his hand out, smiling at you and gesturing for you to take it. You smile back at him, taking it as he waits for you to get off. With your hand in his, he uses his other to point to a few key, important parts of the structure. 

“That is a three-headed gargoyle; it was added here to protect the castle gates.” He smiles, leading you deeper inside. “Where do you want to look first?” Malleus breaks the silence, staring at you as you stare at the magnificent structure. It was just like a Gothic-victorian-style cathedral back on Earth. You stare back, “Let’s explore your favorite spots first!” He smiles at your response, almost as if he were proud. 

Malleus continues leading you in, showing you around, and suddenly, you find yourself in the middle of a ballroom. You had caught a glimpse of it, and it gave such a There was such an enchanting vibe that you just felt compelled to go. You hummed to yourself, a tune you didn’t know. Wait, why were you humming? And a tune you didn’t know? 

It was dark, the only form of light being a large window that seemed to suck in the moonlight and enchant the middle of the room, right where you were dancing. It felt as if you were possessed, in a good way. You smiled, staring at Malleus with his hair flowing gracefully, just like his moves in the ballroom. You were glad he took the initiative. You both get more confident step by step, beat by beat, with the dance concluding with a graceful spin and you stepping back as both you and him stoop down out of respect.

“I never knew you knew such an old folk dance.” The green-eyed fae chuckles, “I didn’t.” You respond as both you and him walk as he concludes his tour. He doesn’t question it, maybe too tired to; he simply smiles. Deciding not to question the wonders of the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Feitan when he’s mean but something just tells me that he’s have a soft spot for his s/o.

He tried to keep his cool, he really does..!! But he just can’t help the way your nose scrunches up and your eyes fill with tears, the way your cute pout when your upset, it’s tormenting for him to refuse. However, one flaw he has that he hates himself for, he can’t comfort you. The most he’ll do is pat your head or so but when you’re in private, he can’t help but snuggle up like a little kitten.

But you know when he’s sweetest? When you’re asleep. He can’t help but admire you, looking around swiftly before planting a kiss on your cheek, he’s embarrassed of that. He’s embarrassed how captivated he is by you. But slowly, slowly but surely, he’ll start warming up to you and become even sweeter as time goes by.

In the past, he’d easily be able to tell you to shut it or threaten you but now, he’s fallen so deep in love that he can’t help but give into every whine.

If you’re in the phantom troupe, your relationship is like this; everyone knows but he won’t admit it till you’re at a certain point in the relationship. It’s honestly so obvious, the way he picks you up when you passed out or are just too tired to, well he’s basically dragging you but being careful not to cause any injuries. If there was a lot of rocks or anything that could cause your already wounded self to get extremely hurt, he’d pick you up. He would either drag his friends or just leave them there so that was a bonus. The way his gaze becomes much softer when he sees you, it’s so obvious that he likes you. The way he even stuffs his face deeper into his bandana to cover the slight warmth around his cheeks.

He really loves you, just doesn’t know how to show it. Be careful and guide him through, he’ll be grateful. :3

1. losing you

Akutagawa - Okay, he wouldn’t show it but he’s TERRIFIED of losing you. He acts nonchalant and stuff but if you were lost, whether it be by yourself or someone else, he will not hesitate to tear down the whole city, if not, country, to find you. You mean so much to him that it’s sickening.

Atsushi - You were on one of the only people there when he was outcasted from the orphanage, it’s natural he’s grow attached. Losing you means that he loses a significant part of his life. Maybe even his life itself. I think he’d be the type to go ahead and do something reckless when you are in danger. Like the episode where he was tested and the fake bomb threat, he’d do something like that.

Rejection

Atsushi and Akutagawa - I feel he’d be afraid of rejection. Afraid of doing the wrong thing and you getting upset and realizing you don’t need him. He feels you can do so much better and that a stroke of luck just hit him, that’s it. If you were to even have an unpleasant expression, he’d start overthinking.

Self-esteem

Atsushi - Now, we all know this boy has low self-esteem. He couldn’t even believe in himself to cook rice. Which is why, like a cat, he too wants constant reassurance and coaxing.

Before all this, he was.. Well, distant. Maybe because of fear of you getting targeted? Or he just didn’t want to deal with you.

From now on, he clings by your side. Always finding ways to stay with you. You can protect yourself, he won’t understand that. He’s way too afraid. He’s anxious. One wrong word or move and he’ll hide back in the shadows.

He’s like a stray cat. Lots of coaxing. Reassure him. After all, you’re the only one left to help him. Please. He doesn’t mean to lash out. But after this situation, he’s sure to never lash out again in complete fear. He’s scared. Please, he’s sorry.
