im pretty happy with my most recent post but i really do want to get better at writing and comics. imo i could have done better with the pacing and specificity of the character’s feelings and relied less on cliches? and added more subtext and subtlety? basically what im trying to say is prepare for more attempts in the future lol

What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? loosely, i think it boils down to all three of those in some way. not really the anti war part. its simply the tale as old as time: the Evolved were erased from history and want to live among the Humans without fear or hatred, but the Humans are doing what they can to push them down. So...diversity in a weird fantasy way maybe?

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? regional gothic is the biggest world building inspiration i have. everything i place into my little wip world is always followed up with the question, "okay now how do I make this thing make the reader feel uneasy?

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? MC is trying to achieve peace between her two worlds that collide, and I'm trying to achieve (for my readers), a thrilling and heart-warming story to escape their own worlds; as Catherynne Valente did for me and many MANY others.

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? original content! i plan on posting here eventually for SURE, im not sure where else yet though...

When and why did you start writing? I answered this in an ask (thanks!) but ill elaborate more! I was around 8/9ish years old when life became a little too hectic for me to have to live in every day; so I created my own through fanfic, and I never, ever, stopped. maybe one day Ill write a short story based off of the man and his shark.

1. What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it?

Do not destroy yourself for the sake of acceptance is always a really important point in stories for me as well as the importance of found family. Also final girls deserve a revenge arc.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)?

Honestly a big inspiration point for The Scarlet Sacrament is that summer time is Too Damned Hot and I knew I wanted to place the Scarlet Sacrament in the winter so Im just, escaping into my imaginary winter tundra lol. The idea for the plot came to me during world building for another series based in my fantasy world Remquil when I realized I wanted vampires and werewolves in the setting so the Scarlet series is all about how Vampires were created.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person?

Forgiveness is for CHUMPS Ahem, so for main character Isravys I want to have readers see her downfall and triumphs. I want people to feel like after something awful happens to them they should keep going. And the revenge catharsis.

4. How many chapters is your story going to have?

I am aiming for 30 chapters with and average of 3,000 words each

5. Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

Original content! The first draft will be posted on my Patreon weekly once I’ve finished outlining it

6. When and why did you start writing?

My chronic depression started showing up when I was six or seven and it was pretty isolating so writing and making art helped me deal with being alone so much.

What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? To be honest? I haven't fully figured it out. I like to let the themes develop as I go.

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? ...This is cheating, because I litterally just use the Torah, and the Tanakh. All of this is either based directly from that, or other folklore I've found. A large part of this is just doing my interpretation on Judaic legends and turning it into a story.

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? I want people to know about all the cool and occassionally messed up stories Judaism has to offer. My MC's just want to survive.

How many chapters is your story going to have? Im very bad at determining the length of chapters, but I know the story is pretty long, so probably alot.

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? I mean, technically speaking, this is Torah fanfiction. I plan to keep it on Tumblr for now.

When and why did you start writing? I went to a writing Camp! I'd wanted to be a writer pretty much ever sicne I started reading, but ADHD plus anxiety meant I never actually wrote much. The camp helped me get started.

Writeblr intro

hello everyone! i've been part of the tumblr writing community for a while, and until now I've had this account as a place where I save things that inspire me during my writing process and other tips and tricks, but I wanted to introduce myself and finally interact with some of the other writeblrs out there!!

A bit about me:

i'm Rian (ree-on), im 22 & I use she/they pronouns !

my favorite genres are fantasy, romance, historical fiction, supernatural, and sci-fi

Some of the tropes that currently have me in a chokehold are found family & true enemies to lovers

My current WIP is high fantasy, set in a thriving costal kingdom. my OC is heir to the kingdom and has been taught a non-traditional method of practicing magic. she faces prejudice because of this, but when unexplained magical disturbances plague the land her people look to her to figure it out and save them.

some of the themes and motifs i'm interested in are sacrifice, power, sanity, perspective, and misunderstanding/misinformation

I'm super interested in building complex, believable characters and i want to create a story (and a world) where good and evil aren't so black and white.

I love an anti-hero and im currently exploring my OC's darkness and how it grows and changes her throughout the story

I think prescription medicine should be free tbh

If there’s something so wrong with your body that it can’t be repaired without regulated outside help, you shouldn’t have to pay money to fix it. This can be anything from antibiotics to antipsychotics, anti anything. Im not clinically depressed because I have to spend 60$ a month for pills but it certainly isn’t helping
