TEACHER’S WEEK ♥ QUESTIONNAIRE SOLO

jaekyung had been doing so, so, SO well trying to escape the language teachers giving them missions for the pranking. at one point she was certain she had managed to escape them for good. luckily the female had run into an unlucky trainee being cornered and ever since learned to stir clear for any camera team following someone around. at times she even sacrificied her snack break for it! she had been so! good! 

but on the last day of the challenge they had managed to finally corner her. internally crying the female exhaled a nervous chuckle, wondering what kind of language they’d throw at her. not that it mattered much because aside from korean she was SHIT at any language!

it was solely to thank her jrpg history that she was able to at least recognize the language tossed at her as japanese. brows furrowing she tried to make out what was required of her to do, all the while diligently replying with “hai,” no matter if she understood the words or not.

the obvious lack of understanding eventually caused the teacher to cackle in her face and jaekyung couldn’t help but grin as well. there really wasn’t much for her to do when she barely recognized what they wanted from her. all she understood was song and... song? as a verb? did they want her to sing? at least the held up hands to signalize her she was to sing about ten seconds helped her with that. 

inhaling a breath, jaekyung decided she may as well go all the way with the joking and chose one of the biggest current memes going about the internet as she began to sing the chorus of baka mitai from the yakuza games, at least decent enough to know that “dame” was some form of protest at least.  when the teacher tossed their head back with a laugh, jaekyung almost thought she was done and free to go but the shake of a head directed her way had the female pale. welp- she guessed she’d be hanging about for some while trying to figure out what the heck they wanted her to sing then.

Jake Seresin was always aware that his best friends had money growing up. Their house was incredibly grand and they got whatever they wanted. It never drove a wedge in their friendship, though. (Not until they were older, at least).

When his best friends little sister started karting, Jake didn't really understand it. His father had enjoyed NASCAR, and that was what he knew. He didn't understand the elegance of the sport she was so desperately trying to get into.

She made it. They'd lost touch for years, but she made it.

Jake sometimes saw her on television, sometimes saw news articles about her, about her career. He didn't expect her to come back to Texas so long after she'd made it, didn't expect to see her in the store, acting like a normal person.

But there she was, buying a pint of milk like her salary wasn't $2000,000.

She looked so different from the last time Jake had seen her. But she had been a teenager then, not the young woman she was now. She'd grown into herself, and Jake was floored.

That little girl who used to chase after Jake and his best friend, demanding they let her play with them, had grown up hot.

She hadn't noticed Jake, not until he was stood behind her at the checkout. She turned her head slightly, catching a glimpse. But then she was turning on her heel to look at him. "Jake Seresin?" She asked, voice full of surprise as she looked at him.

Jake said her name in the same way.

"No freaking way," she mumbled as she threw her arms around him. "You got big, Jakey," she said as she pulled back to look at him.

But Jake was looking at her, too. "You..." But he was tongue tied, in a way he wasn't used to. "How long are you back for?" He asked instead, nodding towards the cashier.

"Until the end of August," she explained as she paid for the milk. "What about you? When are you next shipping out."

She knew she was in the navy. How did she knew he was in the navy? His cheeks were pink as he paid for his own groceries. "Have you spoken to my mom by any chance?" He asked as she stood there, milk in hands to talk to him.

"I might have stopped by the ranch," she said, almost coyly. "So, you wanna hang out?"

But it went beyond hanging out while they were both there. It had started out perfectly innocent, getting dinner, catching a movie, all of it as friends.

But that one night at the bar. Slamming tequila shots in a way she hadn't since her win in Spa. She and Jake were positively stumbling over each other as they left the bar. But then he had her pushed against the wall, lips against her own.

Her arms were around his neck, pulling him close as his fingers dug into her side. Neither of them were willing to pull away, kiss positively becoming bruising. "Fuck, Seresin," she hissed against his lips.

They couldn't let it happen again, but it did. Every night until she ended up in his bed. And then that happened every night until she had to go back to the UK.

Neither of them expected it to go any further. Neither of them expected it to get to the point where they were, quite literally, dating. Constantly on the phone to each other, sending memes and pictures through the day.

She knew she had to invite him to a Grand Prix.

Vegas. He made the trip, joined her in her hotel room. She was incredibly late for media duties that day. And, when she made it to the track, her hair was a mess and she was being trailed by her big, hunky boyfriend.

Min Yoongi is a lot of things.

He’s meticulous and prone to overwork and also lazy and uninspired. He’s chronically over-caffeinated and always half-asleep. He’s the first to blow off plans and the first to pout when he no longer gets invited. He’s brusque and a bit of a bastard but also pleased to be fussed over and taken care of. The kind of person who needs to be wrangled into physical affection, because he just can’t seem to verbalize his desire for it.

Min Yoongi is a lot of things, but he is not, under any circumstances, prone to gossip.

Jung Hoseok, on the other hand, has no such hangups.

Which presents Yoongi with an interesting dilemma. He has to piss, but he has to pass the kitchen to get to the bathroom. And Yoongi is a lot of things and not one of them is prone to gossiping or eavesdropping, but it’s hard to push aside the intrigue of you and Hoseok speaking in hushed whispers in his own kitchen, heads pressed together like conjoined twins.

It looks like a whole lot of conspiring is going on. He refuses to pout.

“You seriously haven’t told him yet?” Hoseok says, and Yoongi can just make it out, but he’s known Hoseok long enough to register the exasperation in his voice. God knows he’s been on the receiving end of it more often than not.

You groan. Probably shoot Hoseok an exasperated look of your own that Yoongi isn’t privy to. “It’s not that easy.”

“It absolutely is that easy. How hard is it to say—”

“Can you shut up?” you whisper-shriek. “You are so annoying—”

“—Hey, I have feelings for you. Would you wanna grab coffee?”

Yoongi is pouting before he even realizes his face has contorted. Sure, he can be jealous. Someone will always be a better musician, have more money, live in a nicer apartment and drive a nicer car and wear nicer clothes. Now, though… someone out there can have you, and that thought tastes sour in his mouth.

It’d been Jimin’s idea to come to Itaewon.

At least they’re at the bar with the good whisky, because Yoongi will max out his credit cards to escape the hell in which he’s found himself. It’d been bad enough with Hoseok, but now he has to deal with it from Taehyung and Jimin, too.

Do you think she’ll ever tell him? This is getting painful.

I don’t know. Hey, are you going to eat the rest of your fries?

It’s stupid. It’s so fucking stupid, because everyone seems to be in on a secret he isn’t, but he looks across the bar and finds it hard to care. There you are, laughing wildly as Hoseok twirls you around on the dancefloor. All the lights in this place combined can’t outshine you—not on your worst day, but especially not when you’re like this.

So. Yoongi’s pouting again, plush bottom lip jutting out far enough to brush against his glass of whisky. He’d finally given up and splurged on something top shelf. Figured it’d get him to where he needs to go faster than anything else, because Yoongi is a lot of things and a dancer isn’t one of them, so he’s doomed to spend the night at this table, sandwiched between Taehyung and Jimin.

Listening to them drone on and on about the guy you’re interested in.

He wonders what he’s like. How the two of you met. He pointedly does not think about whether or not this guy’s a dancer, a musician, if he can always afford top-shelf whisky. He wonders if you’re gonna make Yoongi meet him. If he’s gonna have to play nice and pretend to think this guy is cool and interesting. He can pretend, he thinks.

If it’s important to you, Yoongi can do anything.

Namjoon will know what to do, because Namjoon never actually knows what to do about anything and still somehow always arrives at the correct answer.

“Why am I here, hyung?”

Yoongi clears his throat. Spears another piece of beef and puts it on Namjoon’s plate like a peace offering. Orders another round of beers even though he hasn’t touched his first. “Uh,” comes his eloquent response. “Well—”

“Jesus Christ,” Namjoon mutters, face-planting onto the table. “This is worse than I thought.”

Min Yoongi is a lot of things, but if he’s worse than Namjoon thought, he’s in deep shit.

“Um—”

Namjoon picks his head up. Studies Yoongi for a minute, clearly looking for something, before he pinches the bridge of his nose and says, “It’s you, hyung. She’s hung up on you. And I shouldn’t even be telling you this, because we all just assumed both of you would eventually remove your heads from your asses and get it together, but fuck, this is painful. I can’t do this anymore, you know? I’m not your feelings friend. Jimin is your feelings friend, but he said you just sulked the entire night at the bar—”

“I didn’t sulk,” Yoongi argues, but the words are spoken around a pout.

All he receives in return is A Look. “That’s what you’re focusing on?”

Yoongi is a lot of things.

Today, he’s a coward, which is new.

He’s not usually a coward, it’s just… he knows how to be jealous and how to sulk and pout and not get what he wants. Those things are easy. But he has no idea how to deal with the bomb Namjoon had dropped on him. He’s not even sure it’s the truth. What if Namjoon was just fucking with him to get him to stop sulking? That’s absolutely something Namjoon would do because he’s done it before.

He sighs. Stops to catch his breath because you live on the sixth floor in a building with no working elevator and he doesn’t work out, so he’s really going to be pissed if Namjoon lied.

“Yoongi? What’re you doing here?”

His heart really does stop this time, because there you are, fresh-faced and smiling and a little confused, and Yoongi knows his face is splotchy and red and that his hairline is sweaty. “Yeah, hi,” he says, and it comes out like an immensely displeased grunt. Doesn’t sound at all like he’s happy to see you, and—oh. Yeah. He can understand now why you might’ve been hesitant to say something.

“Sorry, I just—these steps, you know?”

“Yeah, they said the elevator’s finally getting fixed next week.”

“Thank fuck.”

Your brows knit together. “You planning on coming by more often?”

Yoongi is a lot of things, but right now he’s impatient. So he closes the distance between you in record time and says, “Yeah. Listen, Namjoon told me this guy you and Hobi have been talking about is actually me—”

“That duplicitous snake—”

“—and I’ve kind of been losing my mind over it, because I feel the same way, so if it’s true I’d really like to kiss you, but I’m not entirely sure Namjoon wasn’t just fucking with me—”

“Oh, like that time he told you he’d seen your rejection letter from SNU just so you’d stop stressing over whether or not you got in and that you’d be even more excited once you did, in fact, get in?”

“Yeah, exactly.”

“Namjoon is a bastard. You should kiss me, though.”

I tried to keep these transfem-bradley focused but I just devolved into giving you the plot to the maxley fic in my head involving her. maybe if I just tell you about the fic in my head i won't have to write it lol. long list ahoy

a lot of the pre-transition bradley characterization headcanons i have come from that one fic by @maxstgel that inspired the first sketches. so a lot of these are inspired by that and you could even consider this a fan fic of what happens after that (once it finishes i mean, it's all up in the air since its just 2 chapters rn)

She has not chilled in the least since being taken down a peg, she is still pretty narcissistic, but less pressured to be perfect

She started dressing hyper feminine at first but later got a more balanced wardrobe

likes golf, has taken up mini golf since she can't go to a real golf course easily anymore

She has taken up gardening as a hobby

She finished college as Bradley and transitioned after, once she was more able to cut ties from her family

She works as a retail pharmacist and part time as the jammer in a roller derby team with her friends.

She decided to not pursue residency after graduating because she wanted to get away from her dad more than anything, and residency would have probably taken another 4 years on top of the 8 she spent at college.

She met her current friends trying out for the roller derby team to stay in shape and keep skating. i have come up with designs for all 4 of these girls and i need help

She has a biological little sister who's an adult by now, out of the two, Janice looks more like their mother now. And that kind of freaks her out

Her name's now Janice, after her late grandmother. It's old fashioned but she had a good relationship with her before she passed. I also chose that name cause of the "Sure, Jan." meme, i thought it was funny.

Later her grandfather (Uppercrust the first) finds her, not knowing why his son would cut ties.

He sends Tank to find her, because as far as he knows, Tank was the last person/friend with Bradly iii. Which technically was true, but Tank needed money and didn't have the heart to tell og B.Uppercrust that he hadn't talked to Bradley since graduation.

Queue the most harrowing college reunion for Janice ever because she thinks he's still mad. Tank is more shocked than anything. I actually wanna write this scene

Grandpa's surprisingly cool with Janice (the name and new person) he just wants her to come back to the family because it'd be a waste of a good education and resources.

Max Goof just happens to spot her out in the wild and after realizing who it is, he loses his mind and practically begs her to let him take her out because he needs to know her.

Somehow it works, because Janice likes being sucked up to.

is the sixth date too early to invite a girl over for dinner? oscar’s not sure if there’s a specific time, moreso when you feel it’s right. he’s never had a girl over to his own place before. before, there was always the threat of roommates coming home when they were supposed to be away for the night. it’s been awhile since he dated, since he’s had someone to cook a meal for, and now he lives alone. he’s hoping she’ll like everything, appreciate the effort he put in. he baked bread and made pasta from scratch, used fresh herbs from his herb garden in it. he’s damn proud of himself when he finishes everything minutes before eight and sets the table. he’d gone out and bought a fancy dish to serve the pasta in, baked it so it’d stay warm for awhile.

he’s buzzing by the time he hears a knock on his door and nearly knocks over his dining chair in the rush to get to the door. oscar forces himself to slow down and pushes the chair in before slowly walking to the door. she has a pie in her hands, “i brought dessert! i know you said i didn’t need to-“

oscar takes the pie gratefully, “no, it’s perfect! i honestly hadn’t planned anything more than ice cream.”

she grins, “we can put them together, ice cream and pie are the perfect combo.” he returns it as she steps inside and takes her coat off, automatically hanging it on the coat rack in the corner.

he rests his free hand on her lower back and guides her towards his dining room. “nice to see you again, you look nice.”

she turns back to him and flutters her eyes, “you look nice too.” oscar put on a new shirt just before she arrived, a light blue button up. it was new and he was secretly hoping she’d like it when he picked it out. you have to pass through the kitchen to get to the dining room, and he hopes he didn’t miss any messes on the counter when wiping up. there’s a few pans in the sink but that can be excused, he just finished using them and is washing them after dinner with their dishes.

when she steps into the kitchen, a low noise leaves her throat. “who cooked here?”

“uh i did?” oscar tries not to sound hurt that she doesn’t think he can cook. like, does she think he paid someone to dirty up his dishes? wouldn’t he just order something in?

she giggles a little, “no i mean. why do you have an herb garden on your counter?”

he stares at the back of her head, trying to figure out if she’s joking or not. “to cook with?”

“did your ex like, leave it behind?” she sounds less joking this time.

he crosses his arms over his chest, unsure where this is going. “no, i started it during quarantine.”

“when your ex girlfriend was living with you?” he can’t read her, he can’t figure out what’s happening. what’s wrong with him having a little garden?

“no. i didn’t have a girlfriend. hence the herb garden.”

she laughs again and turns to face him, pressing a hand to his chest. “really? you just.. have an herb garden in your kitchen? that’s kinda hot. so you can actually… cook?”

he lets out a huff and cocks his head, “i told you i was cooking you dinner, you didn’t think i could cook?” why wouldn’t she believe him?

she shrugs, “guys have said that before and all i got was frozen pizza or some box meal. not like… a home cooked meal, made with herbs from a little garden.”

he wraps his arms around her and he coos. he’s okay with being the first, maybe hopefully the last. “well then, i hope it’s good. wanna go eat?” she nods quickly, pushing up on her toes to give him a quick peck, “you could burn it to a crisp and i’d just be happy you actually cooked it. wow, no one’s cooked for me before. that’s so sweet.” she spins away from him as she says the last bit, maybe to herself, and he can’t believe no one has ever cooked for her before. he wants to learn her favorite meals for her, cook them whenever she wants.

Sometimes, when you and Leona were both too exhausted to go out but still wanted to do something together, Friday nights would consist of the two of you staying in Leona’s dorm room, putting on face masks or watching TV, and ordering takeout.

On this particular Friday night, Leona sat with his back to you at the front of his bed, slightly slouching with a TV remote in his hand as he switched between channels on his flat screen TV in his dorm room.

There weren’t any particular channels or shows that caught the lion beastman’s interest. That annoying kids’ show Cheka likes? Pass. Cooking channels? Over-dramatized. A Pro Magift game? Hm…

You were in your pajamas, a few feet away from Leona while laying on his bed on your stomach as you scrolled through social media apps on your phone and Leona scrolled through the TV channels, but you stopped your scrolling when you gained the sudden urge to cuddle with Leona.

So you inched your way towards Leona like a worm (would he still love you if you were a worm? yes). Leona could hear, smell, and sense you coming up to him from behind, but what he didn’t anticipate was that you’d wrap your arms around his waist.

“What do you wanna watch?” Leona’s tail flicked from behind him to tickle your face.

“Hmm, not sure,” you kept your arms around him and nuzzled your face against the soft brown Savanaclaw dorm tank top he often wore to sleep. “Mm. You’re so cuddly, Leona.”

Leona couldn’t help but let out a “Heh” of surprise. If there was one word people wouldn’t think to associate Leona with, it was “cuddly.” From the scar that ran through his left eye to his gruff demeanor, “intimidating” was more of the word people would associate Leona with.

He switched the TV off and set the remote down by his side on the bed. “‘Cuddly,’ huh? Since when did I become your personal teddy bear?” Leona turned around to face you, forcing your arms to leave his waist.

“You treat me like a pillow all the time,” you countered, inching over to be next to his right side. You propped an elbow up to rest your cheek in your palm and tilted your face up to the left to look at Leona. “If I’m your pillow, then you’re my teddy bear.”

“Would a teddy bear have muscles like mine?” A smirk grew on Leona’s lips as he leaned down to the right side of him, his face inches away from yours.

“Squishy muscles,” you humored Leona as you poked the bicep of his right arm. “Have you seen those buff bear breads people make on TwstTok? Hehe, that’s what I’m imagining you as right now.”

“Buff bear bread?” Leona raised an eyebrow at the name. He had his own TwstTok account, but it was a private account and he hardly ever used it. MagiTube was more Leona’s speed, with all the chess competition videos and the cute kitten and funny cat meme videos he could watch.

“Yeah! It looks like this,” your fingers danced across your phone screen as you searched for a buff bear bread video on TwstTok while using your private TwstTok account.

You soon pulled up a video of a bunch of adorable buff bear breads holding sausages as pillows.

“This reminds me of you whenever you bring one of your pillows with you to the Botanical Garden,” you giggled, showing the video to Leona.

An amused smile formed on Leona’s lips as he took your phone. “These buff bear breads are puttin’ me to shame,” Leona joked, falling backward to lay on his bed while still looking at the video of buff bear breads on your phone.

You laid next to him, your head rested in the crook of his neck as you went back to your TwstTok For You Page from the search bar. You were expecting either videos tailored to your interests or random videos with TwstTok influencers using weird yet trending sounds, but to your surprise, the first video that popped up on your For You Page was a video about Leona.

“‘Cause he was just too cool for school…” the video’s sped-up audio began as the video showcased a bunch of MagiGoogle images of Leona from public NRC vs RSA Magift tournaments and official press photos of Leona at royal events in Afterglow Savannah.

“What the–” Leona’s eyes widened. He had never seen a fan video edit of himself before, especially one with hundreds of likes and saves.

“...and now I’m falling for ya!” you sang along to the audio while laughing at the randomness of the video being the first thing you saw on your For You Page. “My FYP really said ‘for you’ haha! The audio also fits you so well.”

Leona brought his finger up to your phone screen and flicked to the next video on your FYP. To his surprise, you swiped back up to the video of him, liked it, and saved it.

“Why are you saving a dumb video like that?” Leona grumbled, yet his cheeks warmed at the Internet attention he didn’t know he was receiving until now.

“Because it’s about you and it’s adorable,” you paused the video to check the comments. Not to your surprise, the comments were exactly what you expected, like: “Don’t be shy, gimme his @ 👀” or “He’s so FOINE 😩,” which made you chuckle all the more.

Leona leaned in to read the comments, and then flicked his eyes over to you. “Looks like I’m in high demand, herbivore,” a sly grin formed on his face. While he also rolled his eyes at some of the simps in the comments section, Leona couldn’t help but use this as a fun way to get back at you for calling his muscles “squishy.” “Me and my ‘squishy’ muscles.”

The cheeky lion propped up his right elbow and laid on his side, purposely flexing his bicep in the process before resting his chin in his palm. “Yes, yes, I’ll admit that you have gym bro muscles,” you put your phone down and patted Leona’s bicep. Before Leona could make a comeback, you leaned to his side and snaked your arms around him.

“My buff bear bread gym bro teddy bear,” you nudged your nose against his cheek. Leona moved to lay on his back, letting you wrap your arms and legs around him as if he was a body pillow.

“That’s the weirdest nickname anyone’s ever given me,” Leona traced random patterns on your back with his palm.

“And ‘herbivore’ isn’t a weird nickname?” you inhaled the fresh and fruity scent of mango from Leona’s dry shampoo in his mane.

“What? It’s our thing,” Leona lifted his head to look at you. “Wait, did ya just sniff me?”

“Yeah, I can never get enough of the mango scent from your shampoo. Also, you sniffed me when we first met,” you recalled your and Leona’s “meet-cute.” “And since then…I’ve been fallin’ for ya!”

It was Leona’s turn to sniff you, his body relaxing against yours at the faint yet fresh scent of orange from the palm oil body soap you used from his bathtub. “The audio from that TwstTok video of me is stuck in your head, isn’t it?”

“Mhm! I wanna rewatch it,” you shot Leona a mischievous grin and broke from his embrace to grab your phone. “It’s not everyday you get to see a fan video edit of your partner.”

“Uuuuugh.” Leona sat up, snatching your phone before you could reach it. He held it up in the air with a devilish smirk.

You lunged towards him, but instead of being able to take your phone away from Leona, you lost your balance and collapsed on top of him, with Leona flopping down onto the bed on his back with a light thud against his plethora of pillows as a result.

“You really fell for me, huh?” Leona’s eyes never left yours as he tipped his chin up ever-so-slightly to gaze up at you. His expression was as soft and warm as the amber light from his bedside table’s lamp that fanned across his room’s limestone walls and spacious bed. “Just like when we first met and you tripped over my tail and almost fell.”

You rested your head on Leona’s chest, your ear pressed against the skin above his heart as he pressed a kiss onto your right temple. “I really did,” you smiled against his chest, closing your eyes as his steady heartbeat lulled you to sleep.

Without moving his body to keep you asleep on top of him, Leona stretched his right arm with your phone in his hand and placed it onto his bedside table.

Leona glanced at your phone after he put it down, thinking about the fan video edit of himself on TwstTok. He would never understand TwstTok—it was an endless rabbit hole of videos to him. To be fair, though, if Leona ever found a fan video edit like that of you on TwstTok, he would like and save it in a heartbeat.

Hah…that’s enough TwstTok for one night. Leona yawned, twisting the cord of his lamp, allowing the sudden darkness to conclude your Friday night together.

yeah migraines can really fuck you up! a few years ago i had a migraine and was trying to say "wow my mom made some really good cashew chicken curry, i would love to share this with all of my friends except for jo, because jo is very allergic to nuts." what i actually said, which is still memed on in our gc to this day, was "i'd give some to all my friends except jo because jo can't nut." the pre-migraine "brain function: get fucked!" phase (called "prodrome") has also seen me do such things as "pour orange juice into a bowl instead of milk for cereal" or "put my phone in the fridge and take the cream cheese to my room" and many other such things. it also makes me incredibly irritable and grouchy, which is a hallmark i usually use to go "oh shit i need to go take my meds Now" sdkhf

but all of that to say. yeah i do hc kon as a migraine girlie. (linda/mae too - its the telekinetics. theyre migraine girlies. i dont make the rules sorry wait i do actually.) LUCKILY for him, he can probably get it across more or less by gesturing and going "there! go!" or other Very Simple sentences (which sometimes lets me cheat when my brain Can't make words go, but not always), and if all else fails its just time to swallow his pride and yell for superman.

i really don't envy him the idea of having to fight a villain with a migraine though. definitely a nonzero chance of him just puking on them 😭😭

Revisiting life is strange and its fandom is really bittersweet

I don’t think the fandom is completely dead, it’s not what it used to be and I accept that but it’s bittersweet

also I don’t wanna gatekeep anyone from discovering LiS late, I don’t believe in “true fans”- I’m glad we’re still getting fandom babies hehh, thankfully there is a lot of fan materials to be discovered

I just wanna be a sentimental fool about the life is strange fandom, I was there when the first episode came out I was as old as the characters and it was an event, a moment that can never be replicated- the barbenheimer for tumblr lesbians

We never had a game like this before, it felt tailor made for us and we went crazy

It was fun, you’d just log on tumblr and find new fanart of your favorite character or ship- inside jokes and shitposts were rampant, a couple of fan writers and artists came together and made a fan game- “Love is Strange” where Max gets to romance Chloe, Kate, Victoria, Amber (tell me I’m not the only who remembers shrektoria and Rachel eating a salad while laughing meme)

I made fanart and memes and they blew up but I lost that account

They’d call us sjw trash on YouTube and make fun of the game, we didn’t give a shit

But I think it was around before the storm where i started to lose interest and was burnt out, also I just didn’t like the direction they went with for the game I thought it was an unnecessary edition to the main story (Rachel didn’t need a complicated backstory, Elliot, too much conflict for 3 episodes) and I don’t think I was the only one cause this is where the fan art and fic updates started to slow down

Then I moved on to other things, other fandoms- shit happens.

Life is strange was just another part of my cringey teenage self who the hell cares I was cringe

But now I’m an adult, I have responsibilities and anxieties that I never knew I’d have to deal with- i went through a lot in the last 8 years sometimes I wish I was still that cringey ass teenager. This year was particularly bad, lost someone I loved

I stumbled upon old fan art on Pinterest and it reignited my love for the first game, I felt happy that I had something to take my mind off and goddamn revisiting the fandom years later is so bittersweet. I miss my old fandom mutuals, the blogs that used to update everyday were last active 5 years ago and most of the og fan artists had either rebranded or had left, one of them got hacked

Tumblr doesn’t make it easy for you to look up older posts, you have to rely on old blogs, Google or Pinterest (kinda made it my mission to archive what I can find)

There are new artists doing their own thing and I love that for them! Also people still write fanfics and update them, when I have the time I sketch out my fave characters and ships- it seems like there is a vocal community on tiktok but idk i don’t wanna go there

But it’s not what it was and I accept that, shit happens I’m glad I got to experience it during its peak and that I was left with good memories and content I can still enjoy

I’ve definitely seen shittier and deader fandoms

Before LiS and Steven universe there weren’t a lot of spaces that let you enjoy wlw ships, they were either upstaged by yaoi stuff or fetishized (deviantart) this game and its fan base helped me accept my identity as a lesbian, told me it’s not a fetish when two girls hold hands

george has a lot of flaws that people project onto him which are not actual problems in his books. such as women lacking depth or him not understanding math. these have become memes at this point but they are both untrue.

he is, however, embarrassingly racist in his portrayal of the dothraki, of all the people of the free cities and slaver's bay, and of summer islanders

his characters of color are often if not always silent, under or undeveloped, and hypersexualized. his response to criticism of dany as a white savior being "well slavery in the free cities is like it was in the roman empire, which was not based on race" is hard to take seriously when all of the unsullied are ambiguously brown.

i think the racism in the main series is underdiscussed in favor of people talking about glaring problems in the HBOGOT show that are not present at all in the books.

Here I tried to translate to English all Cellbit's plan he showed on stream for people who don't understand Portuguese. I apologize if there's any misspelling i tried my best and English is not my first language :)

Later, the idea of isolating myself from everybody for a day, create a castle of the evil darkness far from everyone only to see Cucurucho/Federation reaction, the codes and any possible impostor between us.

Update - Trial Day

Things got a little bit different than I have planned but the main plan worked. Instead of surprising with a betrayal during the trial, I used as an excuse the fact that they lied to me and tried to blackmailed me with the "Vivo" meme just to make a scene.

I took the opportunity to change my skin of defense lawyer to a district attorney to add more drama

It's a positive point because make it seem like i genuinely have a motivation/grudge with my friends and makes the Federation/Cucurucho less suspicious with my intentions, it doesn't look like i betrayed them "out of nowhere".

Considering that maybe the Federation watches the streams canonically to get the informations, i think that it was the best choice to do a narrative arc to have a big twist later.

As a prove that the plan wasn't a lie, I left a signed book for Richarlyson revealing my plan and i didn't risk to show it on stream.

Still very risky, considering that the Federation may have access to the items from the eggs but honestly it broke my heart see him (Richarlyson) sad and disappointed. I hope I don't regret this.

I also blocked people's access to Sofia to see how Max would react. I don't wanna suspect I suspect him but everything regarding her is very weird.

My ideas for a NPMD Pokémon AU:

Okay so I know I’m not the only one to do this (shoutout @brokecorviknight ) but I’ve had this idea kinda rattling around in my brain and had to write it down.

Pete would have a blipbug (it’s perfect, blipbug is like a Pokémon version of him). I rly like the idea that he doesn’t have any Pokémon (he’s just not rly that kinda guy, y’know?) until steph takes him out to catch his first Pokémon and they see a blipbug and she’s like ‘okay, you HAVE to catch that”.

Steph would have some kinda cool Pokémon. I’m settling on Scizor because I love drawing it and also I love the idea of them both having bug types <3

Ruth would have a Toedscool. It matches her mushroom sweater and also just kinda feels like a nerd Pokémon, y’know? Like it’s kind of a weird goober creature. I love toedscool (had one on my Violet team) so this is also just an excuse to draw more of it lol).

Ritchie I’m not actually totally set on, cause I wanted him to have a Pokémon that has kind of an ‘anime’ vibe but the only one I could really think of was lucario. Think about it, lucario has these aura attacks, it’s fighting type, and in smash bros it has that whole ‘gets stronger the more damage it takes’ which just oozes a shounen energy to me. Problem is, it feels too cool for Ritchie. Like, Ritchie’s Pokémon needs to be kinda toedscool tier in terms of coolness. Maybe it totally works in a ‘trying to hard’ kinda way, idk.

Okay so for Grace I’m gonna be totally transparent, this whole idea came up cause I saw fanart of what the characters teams would be and grace had 5 cute Mon and then a Yveltal. I love that concept, but I think Giratina works better cause it’s basically Pokémon Satan. She’d get Giratina post black book, before that her Pokémon would be Maushold, cause it’s cute, normal type, and it has this very family-values kinda energy (remember that bug that made it so it didn’t have an evolution animation and people memed the shit out of it cause like….what else does that imply if not sex??). Also the Pokédex says that the kids just sorta appear…which is hilarious and total feels like some shit grace would say.

Max has Gengar, it’s a kinda funny foreshadow/reference to him dying and I bet he uses his gengar to bully ppl/pull pranks.

Today’s compilation:

Grammy Nominees 2000 2000 Pop / Latin Pop / Teen Pop / R&B

I think it's genuinely funny to look back on albums like these and to see some of the songs and names that the Recording Academy deemed worthy of nominating for some of the Grammys' most coveted categories: "Livin' la vida loca" for Record of the Year? Kid Rock for Best New Artist, even though he'd already put out three albums prior (and is also really bad)? Lou Bega for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and in the same category as Andrea Bocelli? 😂 What are we even doing here, folks? What's next, a Marvel movie getting nominated for Best Picture? 😳

Anyway, regardless of some of these choices, it's always fun to take a trip down memory lane, get a bit of that nostalgia rush, and re-evaluate some of these hits that were completely inescapable two-plus decades ago.

And I think my biggest takeaway here is that, even though I still can’t help but love most of its dopey songs, the US' Latin pop boom at the turn of the millennium was, for the most part, pretty objectively terrible. "Livin' la vida loca" is pure maximalist cringe, with its "skin's the color mocha" lyric possibly being the worst line ever written in the history of pop music. And its absurd James Bond guitar motif will also never not be funny to me. Amazing to remember that people unironically enjoyed this song at one point. Like, imagine going to a normal bar at peak hours on a Saturday night in 1999 and this song comes on, and people start going nuts for it? What a time to be alive.

And same goes for "Mambo No. 5," another incredible Latin pop inanity that also happened to mesh well with that whole swing revival thing that bands like the Brian Setzer Orchestra and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (that fucking name, man) were somehow getting away with at the same exact time. God, what musical horrors this time period wrought. And Lou Bega's not even Latin, either, by the way. He's a German native who's of Sicilian and Ugandan descent. And still, he made one of the biggest Latin pop hits of all time. Go figure.

And then there's Santana's "Smooth," which isn't actually an *awful* song on its own—at least not to nearly the same extent as those other two—but it's managed to reach such an extreme level of saturation over the years that I think it's now achieved a meme status that's akin to "All Star." I mean, that opening bar hits and you just chuckle at the utter absurdity of this song's existence at this point, right? But I actually learned a couple interesting facts about it today. One is that the guy who produced Matchbox Twenty's debut album also produced this song, and the other is that, originally, it was given to Rob Thomas in its preliminary stages, so he could work on it and then someone else could end up singing the final product, but Santana just decided that Thomas should provide the lead vocals anyway. And Thomas actually had someone like George Michael in mind instead, so try to imagine what that would've sounded like 😯.

But I swear to you all that I'm not actually an insufferably stuffy despiser of all 90s pop; I love some of the music on here. "...Baby One More Time" and that whole Swedish-produced teen pop craze has really grown on me over the years. Producer Max Martin was a total pop production genius back then and that Britney Spears debut single was one of his finest works. It has such an excellently lush final push and the song itself legitimately changed the pop music landscape forever. But I also can't help but notice some of the similarities between it and another less remembered co-production of Martin's that he did in '97 for Robyn called "Show Me Love" (not to be confused with the all-time diva house hit, "Show Me Love" by Robin S.) .

By the way, wanna see quite possibly the wrongest anyone's ever been about anything, ever? Read the following sentence from the Wikipedia article for "...Baby One More Time." The level of lack of foresight is off the fucking charts!

Given what we know now, it's crazy to think how multiple people at the top of the industry could've missed this mark by so goddamn much, but they did. And maybe, had "...Baby One More Time" never been made, they might've actually been right. But as it turns out, they were the complete opposite of that.

Overall, this is a fun album for channeling more innocent times and enjoying some of the pure pop goofiness of 1999, but the idea that some of these songs ever got nominated for anything other than the musical equivalent of a Razzie by an “authoritative” institution is pretty funny in and of itself and it also reveals what an unserious organization the Recording Academy really became at some point. Like, I can't imagine, at any time, thinking that a song like "Livin' la vida loca" ever exuded any kind of level of excellence, but I'd also very much like to meet the people who did!
