OH GOD IT’S FINALLY FINISHED

At last, The Gang Plays D&D is complete! *collapses* I know a lot of people seemed excited for this one so I hope it lives up to expectations. I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope that I also was able to do it in such a way that even if you know nothing about tabletop roleplaying, you’re able to understand what’s going on with the game.

Snippet Sunday

it's Sunday again!!

At the end of the mountain path is a crossroads with a signpost. Sasha jumps off his bike and grabs one of the pebbles out of his coin pouch. He begins to tie a piece of rope in knots around it, securing it tightly.

"What are you doing?"

"Wanderlust was a wandering God, meaning that They didn't have any shrines dedicated to Them. Instead, what people did was tie pebbles around signposts to signify that they too are going on a journey. Some people would use pebbles from their home, so Wanderlust could see how far they'd gone, others would collect pebbles from all over the land and spread them far and wide," Sasha explains and throws his coin pouch at Faro, "I've been collecting pebbles for a long time, a very long time."

Faro looks inside of the bag and then back at Sasha. "You," he speaks in what almost sounds like admiration, "you've been carrying these all this time. Hidden in plain sight."

"What better way to make others believe I worship Lady Odila," Sasha says with a grin, finishing his last knot, before tying the pebble to the signpost. "and pretend like I have lots of coins, when I am in fact, flat broke."

Sasha can't see Faro's reaction, but he can hear his chuckle.

He finishes tying the rope with a double knot, making sure that it's extra tightly strung.

"There we go, it's not perfect, but-"

"It's perfect."

Sasha looks over to Faro in surprise and is even more surprised at the glimmer in his eyes. They're like two twinkling stars staring back at him.

hhhh just ONE. MORE. CHAPTER of my fth fic and then it's done... !

somehow the second to last chapter ended up nearly twice as long as every other chapter so it's felt like i've been slogging through it forever, so glad i finally finished it orz

writing has been like pulling teeth for me lately, but i'm thankful that i'm far enough into my current project that my characters are starting to unmask a little bit. i love repression and hostility and miscommunication as much as the next gay person, but after a certain point you do just want to take your little guys by the shoulders and go "for the love of god, TALK to each other"
