idk if youve answered smth like this before so sorry if you have but! whats ur take on the idea that the machine in sans and papyrus' basement formed a black hole causing it to break down?

as someone well-versed in the knowledge of black holes it wouldnt surprise me if while in use it ultimately broke down due to smth like massive inward gravitational pressure which forms a black hole. though the damage would probably be way more significant so idk. but its interesting given the theoretical possibility that black holes are wormholes and can lead to different points in space and time. thatd help give evidence to the theory sans or pap came from another world.

also worth mentioning that sans is a very science-loving guy (particularly astronomy given what we've seen) and papyrus is fond of spaghetti and the process by which you die in a black hole is referred to as 'spaghettification.' not rlly evidence just smth ironic lol. anyway just wanted to know your thoughts on this bc it really interests me regardless of whether its actually canon or not!

I don't believe it anymore personally, but that used to be one of the most accepted explanations for the broken machine back in the day! if i remember right, the pre deltarune version of the otherworld theory went that the accident was gaster creating a black hole which erased him from existence and sent sans to a similar but alternate universe where everything was the same, except gaster didn't exist. they were basically working on something that directly paralleled alphys's work in ut, so sans was the one who gave her the blueprints she used to build the DT extraction machine.

personally i don’t think a little bit of talking/asking questions mid movie is that bad. the shooting at the dog example tho kinda is since it’s, ya know, the very opening scene, but who knows, maybe they stepped away to the bathroom right before the movie started. shooting at a nice and cute dog isn’t normal and if you’re just getting back it’s not like you know how much you did or did not miss. ‘you watch the movie and information is revealed’, and sometimes the info was already revealed and you didn’t pick up on it, for whatever reason.
