Hello, and welcome to 'Thoughts on the Try Guys streaming platform thing', by basically the only remaining try guys dedicated account on Tumblr (I think (Also ignore I haven't changed my pfp after the controversy))
So, as I've said before, I think the guys really managed this very well when you compare today's video with Watcher's announcement from a few weeks back. They seem to be using the new streaming service as a fancier Patreon that you can subscribe to if you like the content and want more of it, plus the exclusive vids or extra stuff, but it doesn't seem like it's meant to replace the channel and leave the people who can't afford it behind. They are offering a lot of new shows, many of which they teased on the youtube channel. The little pilots were used not only to give us a taste of what 2nd Try will be like but also introduced the new cast members! (I guess it's apropiate now to call Johnny Cakes, Kwesi, Marissa and rest as Try Guys too?). I'm so so happy to see them now as main talent; they helped carry the new era of the channel for the last year and a half and deserve the recognition.
Hooowever, I will say this.
I feel like the way they are handling this transition (and, let's be frank, the reaction from the audience) would not have been the same without the Watcher TV announcement and its fallout.
In case you don't know: Zach and Keith told us there would be a BIG announcement around this time of year way back in December. In early May (I think) watcher announced their own streaming service and literally everybody hated it. In mid-may, on a random Wednesday, the try guys channel just? don't post anything? and it seems like a very last minute decision to not post a video when they have posted videos every Wednesday for years? And now, a week later, they announce their own streaming service (with a video that references Watcher's announcement, so we know it was filmed after that was posted).
We can only guess, of course. Nothing is confirmed. But it really seems like they were going, if not the same, a very similar route that Watcher was. This is why I struggle to give them that much credit for offering a better deal that the Ghoul boys did, since I don't think they would've taken the same decisions a month ago. I want to think they are good guys who understand that most people can't afford to pay for this and they wouldn't put ALL their content behind a pay wall. But if you asked me a moth ago, I would have told you that Ryan and Shane were incapable of that too.
So I guess I'm not sure how to feel lol.
(Also I know many watcher fans are kinda mad that the try guys are getting a better response that Watcher did and also that Keith and Zach referenced the Watcher.tv vid because they think it was shady.
Calm down. They're literally friends. I bet they know what's okay to joke about and what isn't. I even bet they spoke about this in the last few weeks. Calm. Down)

since you're so interested in filipino language, does it follow the structure of [subject + verb + object + extension] like english or does it break that structure? in bangla, we have the [subject+ verb + object + extension] but we also break that structure so basically we can have [subject + object + verb]. for example, we can use both "ami take dekhte chaina" which roughly translated is "i her don't want to see" based on how the sentence is structured. this is why i have such a hard time trying to follow the english structure of subject-verb-object and sometimes end up mixing both structures
to use your same example, the tagalog equivalent would be "ayaw ko siyang makita" or "ayaw kong makita siya" = i don't want to see them.
ayaw ko siyang makita: don't want (modifier) - my (subject) - them (object) - see (verb)
ayaw kong makita siya: don't want (modifier) - my (subject) - see (verb) - them (object)
the -ng suffix, which basically means that it's modifying, is shifted around according to the sequence of words ^^ it's kinda hard to explain in text sorry and im already super offtrack 😭
honestly, I'm not very equipped to discuss tagalog conjugation, because 1) my first and best language is english, and 2) it's so complex 😭 once saw a white guy discussing it here actually, its all in english!! ↓
so back to your original question: does tagalog follow the structure of [subject + verb + object + extension] like in english?
my answer would be a yes, with caveat, because it's possible for a tagalog sentence to fall into this structure BUT there are many ways to structure a sentence in the first place
for your sample sentence of "i don't want to see her", i can't think of an un-nonsense way to fit it into that structure 😭 ayaw ko siyang makita/ayaw kong makita siya is the most natural way to say it imo. "ako ay (I am) ayaw (dont want) makita (see) siya (them)" sounds so weird
but hey, i could be wrong—disclaimer again, this is my 2nd language and not my 1st sgjdmfjf
i also struggle answering your question because it's kinda broad hsjdhdnd if you want a follow up maybe a more specific one would be easier 😓 unfortunately i wasnt able to pursue linguistics so i lack a lot of technical knowledge and terms which might have made this easier for us both huhu </3

wrote this while i was mourning as a vent,
Tumblr media
[image ID] a screenshot of a paragraph that says:
Ghost had died once; buried in a casket with another corpse and all. Cut open from autopsy with scars that lasted. Woke up beneath the earth with bleeding teeth and gums and rotten flesh in his finger nails. He knew God is real and he is the poor martyr sent off to do worldly errands. Yet he's scraping off every last bits of comfort like a starved dog at the churchyard. A cross on a chain beneath his shirt, silver and gleaming. Made of the same metal with the knives strapped under his bed. In his shoes.

dunno if this was already asked, but, what's your opinion on Konig being putting in 141 fanfics like member of task force? LIKE, dude, wtf. KorTac is almost rivalry team to SpecGru and you just put this stupid ass Konig here😭😭😭
(sorry for grammatical mistakes, English is not my first language)
People can write whatever they want and consume whatever they like,
But since you asked for MY opinion, I find it weird and ridiculous cause to my understanding, most of the time people legit have no idea where König came from, who is actually in the 141 and why it doesn't make sense for him to be in there. Or when they make him besties with Ghost as if Simon wouldn't put his ass 6 feet under 💀
Anyway, he's an irrelevant multiplayer character that gives me Dream vibes (bc if you hc him to be an uwu cringe mf I can hc him to be Dream in disguise<3) I don't even consider him to have any part in the MW lore/fandom so same goes for him in TF141 fics. (Also I have his tag blocked after the pedophilic fics I've stumbled across and hello kitty headcanons)

fic: I'm hi and I'm bi, wait, I mean I'm straight
Fandom: Ted Lasso (TV)
Relationship: Keeley Jones/Roy Kent/Jamie Tartt
Summary:
He is happy that Keeley and Roy are back together. He is. Keeley is amazing and deserves only the very best. And he's never seen Roy as happy as he is with Keeley. So what if it means he is likely to spend less time with Roy? That's what happens when people become couples. They start doing things together and spending all their time together. Jamie has no right to demand time with either of them. Part of him wishes he didn't get so close with Roy. It would hurt less if Roy was just his high school celebrity crush and if he didn't get to know him in real life. Or if him and Keeley never dated in the first place.
read on ao3
Whatever. I published it. It's not often I am inspired and then actually write the damn thing.
