Hey, I just dicovered you about two weeks ago, ish, I was wondering; do you ever have a moment where you feel like maybe Lashton isn't together? I have had a lot of moments of doubt, with certain ships and fandoms, and was wondering if anyone else has.

At the beginning of when I became aware of them and I was doing research (because I definitely say people should think for themselves and not just accept things, ask questions of life!), but there was a point where I flipped to a complete 100% of believing they are real. The rings are undeniable, for instance. The standard closeting 101 patterns going on (Hello Modest!). How much the females around them being promoted in the bearding/PR way. The women being the opposite personalities and have attacked the very fandom that 5sos have top priority of and loves. The way they are towards each other, the way it’s not just looks. It’s got partners vibes, and aspects that straight bffs aren’t towards each other. The intensity of Ash supporting, promoting, posting about, love messages to, etc. The expensive gifts (custom leather jackets) of which there’s never been, as far as we know, for either Cal or Michael. The difference Ash is towards Luke compared to the other guys, as well as how Luke is towards Ash. They both hold each other at such a high regard and find each other the true bees knees. Luke finds Ash the funniest person on the planet, even in instances where he does/says are mildly funny. Refer to the post I just did of them during the Amazon Music and the Spilling the Quarrantea livestreams. Example. when Michael had no problem with just willynily searching Luke smut fanfic on Wattpad versus Ash trying to make Luke feel better by trying to make Luke laugh through making up a light hearted entertaining story of his own of Cal. Ash and Luke partnering up together against the other guys, or being in their own world. The moment where Ash agrees to Luke about the movement they did to a nonexistent Try Hard mv (it’s like the moment where Louis Tomlinson just agrees when Harry Styles says some weird line about the ocean waves). The amount of ig and twitter posts that really radiate a love that’s not just bffs. Ash made a post saying Luke is “his Elvis Presley” with a really sweet pic of Luke laying down cutely on a bed and Ash sitting next to him. The way they were when Luke moved in with him. Yes, they were working on themselves but they were acting like boyfriends. Watch the YouTube vids of Lashton moments. Watch interviews and focus on how they are towards each other. The writing of songs about being fake, only loving at night, direct references towards one another. During the soundcheck I attended this year, when a fan yelled out for Luke to marry Sierra during the time off from tour, it’s the way responded deflated was such a raw response, so loud to me. The way Luke gets when ppl bring up Sierra to him compared to how he consistently is with Ash, it’s intensely different. Again, when Luke needed someone supportive, he ran to live with Ash. He’s his home.

There’s just so much… I could go on for hours. I’ll stop for now though.

Hello everyone, not sure how many active followers I still have on here. But I've been wondering what to do on this blog gor a while. I don't have the time or the energy to post masterposts on a regular basis. But I've been thinking about maybe starting some sort of diary on here. Where I occasionally share my experience as a 5SOS when I have the time. I've been wanting to do smt like this for 1D back in like 2014/2015, but never did. And with everyone going solo it's just too fragmented to still do this. But since 5SOS are still kicking I'd love to share some of my experiences. It won't be a blog where I keep up daily with all the news and stuff. I'm not an UA. But I'd like to have some sort of keepsake in the end of what it's like for me as a 5SOS fan. Idk if anyone would be interested in reading that, def let me know if you are. I may still do a masterpost occasionally if I have the time and there's smt I really want to talk about. First priority for me rn is updating my Michael Clifford hair timeline, since that seems to be smt people really like.

Summary: Blaine is quite fond of his funny, smart, fascinating, attractive roommate, Kurt. And when he wakes up one night to overhear Kurt having sex with another man, he discovers a whole new realm of feelings he has towards Kurt.

Notes: Warnings for voyeurism, being walked in on, and comic misunderstandings. The title is from If Walls Could Talk by 5SOS. I took some liberties with the layout of the loft.

Blaine wasn’t sure what woke him up at first, when he gradually became conscious and his eyes flickered open to reveal only darkness.

Or, at least, what passed for darkness in the apartment. The glow of streetlamps still managed to filter through the curtains, and there were a few tiny beacons of light in Blaine’s room, coming from the power buttons of his laptop and his stereo. He glanced over at his alarm clock, the green numbers indicating that it was just past 2AM.

Then he noticed the sound - a sort of heavy, stuttering breathing, coming from the other side of the curtain that separated Blaine’s “bedroom” from his roommate’s. That was probably what had woken him up. He listened more carefully, trying to figure out what the noise was. Was Kurt awake? Was something wrong with him? Then there was another sound - a soft pop, and then a whispered “yeah, like that?”

The voice was quiet, but Blaine was positive it wasn’t Kurt’s. This was confirmed when Kurt’s familiar voice whispered back, “shhh, I told you quiet. But yes, oh my god, yes like that.”

The pieces clicked together in Blaine’s head, and suddenly he was wide awake.

Oh. Kurt was in his room, with another guy, doing something that sounded very intimate and personal.

Blaine had only been living with Kurt for a couple months, but it had been going great so far. When he’d found himself in need of a new apartment, he’d scoured the internet and been mostly disappointed by the adverts for open rooms and apartments. But when he’d found Kurt’s post seeking a new roommate and contacted him, they’d immediately gotten along. Both from Ohio, both gay, both studying performing arts. While the living situation wasn’t ideal - the open studio forcing them to craft separate rooms out of curtains and strategically-arranged furniture - Blaine had decided it was worth it. Rent was cheap, the location was decent, and Kurt had seemed like an excellent housemate. He was someone who Blaine thought he would not only tolerate living with, but could actually become friends with.

However, in none of their conversations about roommate responsibilities and expectations had they broached the subject of what to do if one of them wanted to have sex in the apartment while the other one was present.

Blaine could hear Kurt’s breathing grow hurried and erratic as the other guy continued whatever he was doing. Blaine thought that he should probably be a little offended, or grossed out, or uncomfortable. He could press one of his pillows over his ear and try to fall back asleep. He could make some sort of noise to remind Kurt of his presence, and maybe that would make them stop.

But Blaine didn’t do either of those things. Instead, his curious mind conjured up images of what might be happening on the other side of the curtain - where exactly was this mystery guy touching Kurt? Was he using his hands? His mouth? Were they still fully dressed, clothing pushed aside, or was Kurt naked, his pale body spread out against the dark sheets he always made his bed with?

Oh god oh god oh god. Instead of being disgusted, Blaine was turned on. He was a degenerate, a pervert, a secret voyeur. He could feel himself getting hard as he listened to Kurt try to stifle his gasps of pleasure.

Based on the lack of noise from the other guy, Blaine figured that his mouth was probably occupied. Blaine’s traitorous, horny brain provided more imagined scenarios - the feeling of wet heat surrounding his cock, another man’s head between his legs - or, alternatively, tasting the salt and sweat of someone else, his jaw stretched around them, hearing their moans as he rutted against those dark sheets -

Kurt breathed out some partially-intelligible words; Blaine caught “yes” and “please” and “close.” There was a hum of acknowledgement from whoever else was in Kurt’s bed. Kurt’s muttering and breathing sped up and peaked - and then there was a second of silence before he exhaled heavily.

Oh my god, Blaine thought.

He heard the shift of movement on the mattress, quiet laughter, the rustle of bedsheets. Something was whispered, but so softly he couldn’t make out the words. More movement. Eventually, silence, punctuated only by even breathing.

I just heard Kurt have sex, Blaine thought to himself, staring dumbly at his alarm clock. And I am so, stupidly turned on right now.

He shifted slightly to lie on his back, biting his lip when the movement caused his pajamas to brush against his groin and send pleasure coursing through his veins. He held his mouth shut tight as he palmed himself, relieving some of the tension but still aching for more. He couldn’t, though. He certainly couldn’t get himself off quietly enough, and didn’t want to risk bringing any attention to himself. The only thing more mortifying than discovering that he was turned on by overhearing Kurt have sex would be if Kurt found out about it too.

Blaine closed his eyes and forced himself to think unsexy thoughts until he could fall back asleep.

Blaine was pouring orange juice for himself the next morning when an unfamiliar man came out of the bathroom. He was lanky and fair-skinned, with thick, tousled hair that was pushed back from his face. He was also wearing nothing but a pair of black boxer briefs.

“Hey,” the guy said, nodding at the juice carton in Blaine’s hand. “Can I have some?”

Blaine stared blankly at him, wondering what the hell to say, when Kurt came out of his room. Unlike the unannounced guest, Kurt was fully dressed and put-together.

“Leave him alone, Sebastian,” Kurt chastised, heading for the Keurig on the counter. “Sorry, Blaine. We didn’t wake you up last night when we came in, did we?”

Blaine channeled all of his acting skills into sounding and looking completely nonchalant when he replied, “Nope, didn’t wake up.”

Author’s Notes: The prompt for this story immediately jumped out to me, because it deals with two things that have been on my mind a lot lately: grief, and cross-country road trips. I’m so grateful for this particular prompt, as it’s given me so much inspiration, and I hope that what I’ve written does it justice.

And, of course, so many thanks to @datshitrandom, who made the gorgeous art for this story. With relatively limited information she was able to create something that exactly captured the look and feel of this story, and then went way above and beyond to create Instagram edits chronicling the entire road trip! I am obsessed with them.

Just a bunch of amazing works by some amazing writers that I strongly recommend, and have put together in a small, somewhat masterlist.

Bucky Barnes Fic Recs #1

Hi! I recently started following you, and really need to know which songs have Luke and Ashton written about each other, if you have a tag in which you have spoken about it I'd be happy to read it or if you know where I could find this info? I'm especially interested in the last few albums.

First, thanks for the follow and nice to meet you!

The most blatantly Ash and Luke is majority of the “Youngblood” album. They did songwriting trips to Sweden, without the other two guys who flew over later on, to work on learning about songwriting.

To help figure out what songs could be them, I would greatly suggest if you haven’t done so already, to start listening to the albums in order one by one, while paying attention to who are credited as songwriters and taking into account what was going on with the band around each time. (Producers are included in songwriting credits, so very often you can disregard them, as it’s usually a credit for effecting the overall music sound of the song)

Each album is typically written about a year before it’s released so keep that in mind.

Their story is weaved throughout each album. Keep in mind that pronouns used are pretty meaningless (Luke has actually called Ash his “girlfriend” while he’s sitting on his lap in an interview. Closeted gay songwriters accept that they have to use heterosexual pronouns for love interests, and the only time it actually means anything is when it’s to communicate a referring to a different person within the song (ie. sometimes switching from a “you” to a “she” could be two separate people). For instance, “She Looks So Perfect”, the “you” and “she” are the same person. The lyrics to the song are genderless but the title has “she”, the demo version was “You Look So Perfect”, but for the song “Thin White Lies” there’s a line where it switches from the “you” to a “she” and it actually means a difference (“But she says she loves me, she don’t show it”).

If you use my lyric analysis tag, I’ve gone through a few songs line by line or made observations. For example, in Luke’s solo song “Comedown”, the reference to Camellia Street that’s being narratively sold as a street in LA where he met Sierra, is actually a street in Western Sydney where the guys are from. And Sierra is not from Australia.

Pay attention to themes that are common in closeted relationships and one’s own personal journey. Loving only at night time, hiding, pretending, feeling like you are different with this person, rainbows and colors, loving someone but forces cause them to fight with each other, feeling like the odd one out or different or like you’re wrong for feeling/loving, references that connect with one another (example, Ash referencing Luke’s favorite band Bon Jovi in “End Up Here”), needing to forgive or asking for forgiveness from the other person for what’s going on (where they’ve been ie with fake gfs or having to deal with the crap that lgbt relationships esp as celebrities are subjected to), LYING and keeping secrets (closeted lgbt people do a lot of lying out of survival and self-preservation and if they are still on their journey of accepting themself).

I don’t have a list created yet of specific songs, but hopefully looking at my lyric analysis tag and listening to their songs it helps you get a good sense to piece together their story they’re trying to tell.

Something that stands out is the way there’s a story of meeting as kids, falling in love, processing and navigating being in love, the dynamics of a relationship, and then looking back and processing who they are as individuals as well as a couple.

Ashton Irwin is not straight: a masterpost

It’s been a while since I’ve written a masterpost, but I’ve been meaning to get back into it for a while now. Giving a voice to some of my personal ideas is the main reason to start this blog in the first place. I’ve made a similar post about Michael several months ago. I can highly recommend checking that one out as well. This one will probably be a bit shorter than that one, since Michael has been banging on that closet door a ton, while Ashton is a little more subtle.

Before you continue reading, a quick disclaimer. If the idea that Ashton may not be straight makes you uncomfortable. Please do not continue reading. However, if you have an open mind and are willing to entertain other ideas than your own or if you share my ideas (based on the title) you are more than welcome to continue.

Finally, I’m asking you. Please, under no circumstance ever show my posts to any of the guys or people close to them. The posts that I make are meant for fandom discussion only. You can share them with friends, you can talk about them, just do not share them with the guys or the people around them. Also, I will not be publicly speculating about what label (sexuality) the guys may identify as. This is something very personal and it’s up to them to decide how they want to or don’t want to identify as. However, I do believe that at least Ashton, Luke and Michael are not straight. I haven’t completely made up my mind about Calum, but I think there are definitely certain signs that he may not be straight. I’m aware that a lot of people believe in Cashton as a couple. Personally at the moment I’m posting this I do not believe they are (or were) a couple. I understand why people think they are dating, I have seen plenty of Cashton evidence, but nothing has absolutely convinced me so far. They are super cute and I absolutely ship them though, I would love nothing more than to be wrong about this. Now that we have gotten all of that out of the way, let’s get to the reasons I think Ashton is not straight,

I do not have as many reasons for Ashton not being straight as I do for Michael, who has been incredibly vocal about not being straight. Ashton however has thrown a few hints out there and I am receiving them loud and clear. For me the first thing that pointed me towards Ashton not being straight sounds a bit vague. It was his demeanor, the way he acts, the way he carries himself. Ashton is very flamboyant in the way he acts. You know how you see someone you don’t know, but instantly know they’re not straight because of the way they behave? That’s exactly what I see when I look at Ashton. It’s hard to put into words, but if you don’t know what I mean I highly suggest googling the definition of flamboyant, I’d say it fits quite well with Ashton. Now I know this is very much a stereotype and not everyone who is flamboyant is gay* and vice versa, so this doesn’t make what I say a fact (unless Ashton comes out and says he’s not straight, this whole post is speculation). But those stereotypes do exist for a reason, they may not apply to everyone, but they do exist for some.

* I’m using gay as an umbrella term here, I don’t mean to imply he is only into guys. Simply that he is not straight.

“Girl and/or boy”

The following moment of the guys explaining what Don’t Stop is about can be interpreted in many ways. It starts with Luke saying the song is about a girl at a party, that everyone wants to take home to “hang out” with. Then after some further talk at 0:53 Ashton says “It’s just about a girl who everyone wants at a party basically. And/or boy”. Now this can be interpreted as a girl seeing a boy at a party who she likes. It could be a general statement that some boys aren’t (just) interested in girls, but (also) in boys and he’s trying to be inclusive. Which is not out of character for Ashton I’d say. It could also be a little more personal. Maybe meaning that he might not (just) be interested in girls. Personally I think it might be a combination, it’s a blanket statement that leaves plenty of room for plausible deniability, should there ever be a need for further explanation.

“I don’t wanna tug any of ya”

The fact that nobody is talking about this at all is at least surprising. I get that the interview is a few years old, but even in the comments I don’t see anything about it. At 2:19 the interviewer asks them who would win in a tug of war competition between 1D and 5SOS. After some back and forth talk, their answer nears an ending, but not before Ashton jokes “I don’t wanna tug any of ya” at 2:36 and letting out an adorable giggle. Michael doesn’t seem to take notice of what Ashton is saying. However Luke and Calum definitely get it. Now if there was any doubt about what Ashton would mean by tug. Just take a look at the Urban Dictionary. So Ashton jokes he doesn’t want to tug any of his bandmates. Does that mean he would like to tug someone else perhaps? This may have been a simple teenage joke and nothing else, but I think it’s important to at least take notice of.

“It’s not a guy”

This moment is honestly iconic, I don’t know what else to say. In this video they get asked some random stuff such as “first band you saw live” and in this case “favorite hometown spot”. 20 seconds into this video and Ashton does a shout out to Frankie’s in Sydney. Which is all fine, but what follows is where it really gets interesting. He says “spent way too much time in you”. This could just be a bit of unfortunate phrasing, sometimes our brain to mouth filter works in weird ways. Then Luke feels the need to add “it’s a rock bar”. This smells like damage control to me. They could have just laughed it off and made it into a joke. I mean, Ashton says a lot of ridiculous stuff at times, so this wouldn’t even be that much out of character. Ashton however must’ve felt defiant that day, because he decides to add fuel to the fire by saying “it’s not a guy”. Then he smirks while looking off camera. He is well aware of what he’s saying and I 100% believe he saw an opportunity and took it. Also a special shout out to Calum’s face after Ashton said “it’s not a guy”. Also, the fact that he says guy and not girl is something to take notice of. Now in all truthfulness, if he’d said girl it would have sounded rather gross and I probably would have to scold him myself. But I’d say Frankie is an androgynous name that doesn’t stereotypically belong to any specific gender.

“Boys, boys, boys”

5SOS reads thirst tweets is iconic as a whole, but one of my favorite moments is “boys, boys, boys”. It starts with Ashton reading the tweet, followed by Luke going “you can’t say boys like that”. Ashton being Ashton doesn’t like being told what to do, so he decided to be extra and repeat himself a couple of times. Now this may just be Ashton being defiant. But there is an extra added layer to what he says and how he says it. The way he says it is just so flamboyant, the way he stares into the camera he knows what he’s saying.

“If Walls Could Talk”

There is a reason I called my blog its-bound-to-get-loud and the reason is obviously this song. The moment I realized what the lyrics to this song were I had to look them up, cause it sounded a lot like a closeting song to me. After reading the lyrics that thought was solidified in my brain. This has been my masterpost about Ashton not being straight. As always, this post is speculation based on my personal opinions. I hope it brought some new ideas to people who maybe didn’t think of this before. I’d love to hear your reaction if you have read this.
