Israel Is "Engineering Famine" In Gaza
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amnesty International says Israel is “engineering famine” in Gaza. Organization head Agnes Callamard adds, “all states that cut UNRWA funding, sold weapons and supported Israel bear responsibility too.”
Yazan Al-Kafarna, a 9-year-old Palestinian boy with cerebral palsy, was forced to flee the Israeli invasion of Beit Hanoun with his family to southern Gaza. Recently, Yazan’s health deteriorated due to a shortage of food and oxygen.
Today, Yazan passed away due to insufficient healthcare and a lack of specialized food for his condition at Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, exacerbated by the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
Biden and Netanyahu did this. Media justified it. Institutions protected it. Protestors lost jobs and reputations fighting it. We will never forget. Or forgive.
Abdul Rahman Al-Dahdouh, an elderly Palestinian, died due to severe dehydration and malnutrition as a result of Israel’s continuous prevention of food convoys from reaching northern parts of Gaza.
Israel did this. With the full support of the US and Britain. We must ensure every criminal who played a role in this genocide faces justice.
Future generations will not forgive us if we don’t.

[ 📹 An elderly Palestinian man laments the starvation of himself and his family, including his grandchildren, who he says cry from hunger, as the Zionist occupation continues its 151-day blockade of the Gaza Strip, preventing food, water, fuel, and medicine from reaching the desperate population of Gaza.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
151 DAYS OF GENOCIDE IN GAZA: ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES CONTINUE TO SLAUGHTER DOZENS OF PALESTINIANS
On the 151st day of Israel's ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Zionist occupation army committed a total of 10 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 97 civilians, mostly women and children, and wounded another 123 others over the previous 24-hours.
In a statement from the Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, the ministry said a number of victims from Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling remain missing under the rubble of their homes, as well as strewn across local streets and alleyways as the Zionist occupation army actively prevents ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching victims.
Over the previous day, at least 34 bodies of slaughtered Palestinians were transported to Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the Gaza European Hospital after occupation forces bombed civilian homes in Gaza City and Khan Yunis.
According to local reporting, 9 victims were transferred to Al-Shifa, while 25 additional victims were taken to the Gaza European Hospital, 17 of which died as a result of the Israel occupation's bombing of the Al-Faqawi family home last night.
The Zionist occupation's authorities also announced the taking of 85 hostages from Hamad Town, north of Khan Yunis, after surrounding and storming the city over the previous two days, while in Khan Yunis alone, more than 1'200 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
As previously mentioned, over a dozen civilians were killed after a Zionist airstrike targeted the Al-Faqawi family home in the vicinity of the European Hospital, while another airstrike west of Khan Yunis resulted in the deaths of 9 civilians who were transferred to Martyr Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, located in the city of Rafah, in the south of Gaza.
Zionist air forces further bombarded three civilian homes, one belonging to the Al-Amour family in the Al-Fukhari neighborhood, east of Khan Yunis, while Israeli forces also destroyed an entire residential block in the village of Abasan.
In the south of Gaza, the Israeli occupation army used artillery and missiles to shell the Madi and Al-Gharib family homes in northern and central Rafah, killing 17 Palestinians as they slept in their beds in the night.
In another hideous atrocity, Zionist forces bombed a group of displaced Palestinian civilians gathered near their tents in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp area, resulting in the martyrdom of two civilians, while a second and third strike targeting two residences in the same area resulted in another 16 martyred Palestinians.
In a further atrocious crime, IOF warplanes bombarded a residential square in the Jabalia Refugee Camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in 7 civilians being killed and dozens of others wounded.
Similarly, Zionist fighter jets also bombed the Al-Kilani family home, north of Beit Lahia, in the north of Gaza, resulting in several reported casualties.
Meanwhile, another civilian was shot and killed by Zionist soldiers on Al-Rashid road opposite of Al-Zahraa city, while at the same time, intense occupation artillery shelling targeted the Al-Mughraqa area.
For the third consecutive night, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on starving civilians waiting for food aid near the Al-Kuwaiti roundabout, south of Gaza City, killing at least one civilian and wounding several others.
Zionist fighter jets also bombed a civilian residence in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, martyring four Palestinians.
In a report from Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, another baby died of malnutrition and dehydration, bringing the total number of children who've died from starvation at Kamal Adwan hospital to 17.
In other news, Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, leader of the Australian Labor Party, became the first Western leader to be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for being an "accomplice to genocide," providing military and monetary assistance to the Zionist occupation in its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
More than 100 lawyers supported Albanese's referral to the Court, hoping to indict the Australian leader under Article 15 of the Rome Statute, as he is accused of providing "Israel" with "rhetorical support in public statements and press conferences," along with material support in the form of providing military technology and parts, in addition to providing military intelligence and other support for the Zionist occupation army.
As a result of Israel's ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the death toll has now risen in excess of 30'631 Palestinians martyred, more than 13'000 of which were children, and another 9'000 or more women, while another 72'043 Palestinians have been wounded since October 7th, 2023. This brings the total number of casualties in Gaza to well over 100'000, or more than 4% of Gaza's entire population.

Israel threatens to EXECUTE over 1.2 million Palestinians
Tumblr media
Palestinian Territory - The Israeli army issued on Monday new evacuation orders against 10s of thousands of displaced Palestinians in Rafah in the far south of the Gaza Strip. These orders are an apparent prelude to the start of its new military operation, which threatens to execute more than 1.2 million people in the city and is an escalation of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Strip, a crime that has been ongoing since 7 October 2023.
Through written leaflets, text messages, and recorded phone calls, the Israeli army has ordered Rafah’scivilian population to move out of the city’s eastern neighbourhoods, particularly the area of Al-Shouka as well as Al-Salam, Al-Geneina, and Al-Byouk, toward the area of Al-Mawasi. However, Israel provided no explanation as to how the civilian population would be safely transported to Al-Mawasi, which is west of the nearby city of Khan Yunis, or how they would be organised upon their arrival.
More than 200,000 people may be targeted by the displacement orders, which also affect the Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, Rafah’s main hospital, as well as the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings. It should be noted that humanitarian aid access through these crossings has been stopped since yesterday afternoon.
The Israeli army’s new displacement orders came with a warning that Gaza City and its north “remain a dangerous combat zone”, making it impossible for Palestinian residents to go north. At the same time, airstrikes on residential homes in Rafah haveintensified in recent hours, leaving 26 people dead—the majority of them women and children—and dozens more wounded. More people reportedly remain missing under the rubble.
Orders for the forced evacuation of hundreds of thousands of civilians do not imply that they will be shielded from Israel’s military attacks; this is especially alarming given that the great majority of them have already experienced multiple displacements and have nowhere else to go. Israel launched its first aerial assault on Rafah at the start of its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, during which hundreds of neighbourhoods and residential buildings were struck without prior warning.
The Israeli army has been ordering the illegal evacuation of approximately 246 square kilometres, or roughly 67% of the Gaza Strip’s total area, since 7 October 2023. This covers every area north of the Gaza Valley, whose residents were told to leave in late October, as well as certain areas south of the Gaza Valley that have been under constant evacuation orders from the Israeli army since 1 December 2023.
Before beginning ground operations, the Israeli army often issues displacement orders that contain a number of serious errors, such as contradicting information and naming areas incorrectly, which prevents displaced civilians from finding safety. Additionally, Israel appears to have violated its obligation to provide “effective advanced warnings” under international humanitarian law.
Any Israeli military operation in Rafah poses a grave risk to hundreds of thousands of civilians, particularly women and children. These civilians risk being made victims of horrifying atrocities against them; in addition, they risk the consequences from Israel putting an end to life-saving humanitarian relief efforts throughout the Gaza Strip.
Israel apparently intends to launch a massive attack on Rafah, 213 days into its ongoing genocide, without considering the fate of the hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced people who have sought refuge there after the Israeli army previously declared it a safe zone. Given the volume of displaced people, storming the city poses a serious threat of massacre and raises urgent concerns about the scenario of forced displacement outside the Gaza Strip.
With its prior military orders to evacuate other areas of the Strip, and the weight of bombing and casualties, Israel is already conducting one of the biggest and most widespread forced displacement operations in modern history. Israel has forced roughly two million Palestinians to relocate and take up temporary homes in shelters and tents, with over half of them centred in the border city of Rafah.
Furthermore, Rafah serves as a hub for humanitarian relief efforts and the point of entry for vital humanitarian supplies. Numerous relief organisations that supply food and water, plus health, sanitation, and hygiene supplies, to civilians throughout the Gaza Strip, store these supplies in Rafah. Israel’s potentialground incursion poses an existential threat to residents all over the Strip, who are currently struggling to survive, and is expected to worsen the spread of diseases brought on by the military operation.
A larger wave of displacement, increased overcrowding, and the elimination of opportunities to obtain basic food and water will result from the impending Israeli ground attack on Rafah, which may be the deadliest point of escalation against Palestinian civilians. The Strip’s health system, which is already nearly destroyed, would likely collapse completely. Rafah’s Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, one of 12 partially operational hospitals in the Strip, out of its total of 36 hospitals, is also targeted by the new evacuation orders. The other 11 hospitals include two in northern Gaza, three in Gaza City, two in Deir al-Balah, and two in Khan Yunis, as well as three in Rafah, central, and southern Gaza. These hospitals are overcrowded with patients, run at a limited capacity, and struggle with a severe lack of fuel, medications, supplies, and personnel.
In the southern Gaza Strip, six field hospitals are running at full capacity, and 70 percent of primary health care centres remain unusable.
About 600,000 children are estimated to be shelteringin the city of Rafah, the great majority of whom are either injured, ill, and/or malnourished. It is unknown what will happen to these children, who are among the hundreds of thousands of displaced people who fled to the southernmost point of the Gaza Strip in order to avoid being killed directly or from starvation. This situation requires decisive intervention to stop Israel from escalating its genocide and forced displacement crimes.
The international community must uphold its legal and international obligations to stop Israel from committing the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip, activate effective pressure tactics to stop Israel’s military attackon Rafah, and abide by the rulings of the International Court of Justice in order to protect Palestinian civilians.

Support our Educational Journey Outside Gaza
Note from organizer:
I am Mohammed, a medical student from Gaza residing in Germany. I would like to convey this message from my sister Nour:
My name is Nour, which means “light” in Arabic, and I have always been determined to shine brightly to support those around me, even in the darkest of times. I have studied Neuroscience at Washington and Lee University, and have then been studying medicine in Gaza. I have finished three years of my medical education, marking the halfway point in my schooling. I then achieved a score of 93/100 in the International Foundations of Medicine (IFOM) Examination conducted by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). I have also consistently excelled academically, achieving honors and recognition throughout my educational pursuits. Becoming a doctor has been an enduring passion of mine, a lifelong dream that I have diligently strived to achieve.
However, my medical education got interrupted as my medical school was bombed, and I haven’t been able to continue my studies since this past October. This is why I need your support to complete my medical degree abroad and bring back knowledge to support those around me.
For my current life in Gaza, it is marked by uncertainty, with plans of evacuation looming over our heads. My home, currently sheltering 10 displaced families, might soon be evacuated due to the threat of a ground invasion to Rafah. Yet, I remain committed to serving my community, no matter where circumstances take me, and to carrying my dream of pursuing my medical degree in my heart wherever I go.
I have been actively volunteering at Abu Youssef Al Najjar Hospital in Rafah. Primarily at the ER, I care for over a hundred patients per shift, holding an emergency schedule with 24-hour shifts, and extending them when necessary. I witnessed, on multiple occasions, the arrival of the dead bodies of my cousins at the ER. In addition, due to the scarcity of resources, we always need to improvise on the spot. I remember when we had to do a paracentesis on a cancer patient with myelofibrosis, lacking the tools we needed. I had to improvise, utilizing an IV set and the last two urine bags with semi-broken tubes, holding them still with my hands while sitting on the floor by the patient as you may see in this picture. This patient however died 2 days ago due to lack of Jakafi, and all other cancer treatments for four months now.
These challenges for cancer patients in Gaza are the reason I wanted to join medical school in the first place. I want to become an oncologist with the ultimate goal of establishing an interdisciplinary, holistic care that could provide cancer patients in Gaza with the independent and comprehensive healthcare they deserve.
I have big dreams in my heart, and your support can bring me closer towards the actualization of my end goal. I aspire to bridge gaps in healthcare access, play a role in building a more equitable healthcare landscape, and serve as an agent of change for health equity and social justice in Gaza. I aspire to continue using medicine to save lives and to honor the memory of my friends and classmates whose dreams were killed, and could not live to achieve their medical degrees; for Besan, Doha and Nada.
My brother Ahmed excelled in high school, achieving an outstanding overall GPA of 99.6%—earning him the second-highest GPA in the entire Palestinian Territories. He's a dedicated student who had joined me in medical school, but that has been turned into rubble. His aspiration is to stand alongside me in our mission to save lives in Gaza.
Meanwhile, my sister Menna completed her first year of a programming BA at Al-Azhar University before it too fell victim to destruction. Despite the challenges, both Ahmed and Menna remain resolute in their ambitions to complete their education and return to serve our communities.
Both my siblings are ambitious and hope to finish their education to come back and serve our communities. We need and would tremendously appreciate your financial support to make this come true. Thank you for standing with us during these difficult times.
I am writing this as I am hearing bombings around our hospital. I am preparing to return to the front lines to assist the injured patients who will soon arrive. Please know that your support and solidarity during these challenging times mean the world to us.
If you're in a position to help, we would be very grateful.

'This Is Who They Are Targeting': “Terrorist, Fascist, War Criminal, Illegal Regime of The Zionist Isra-helli 🐖 🐷 🐖 🐗” Bombs Kill At Least 5 Children In Rafah
"This is Their Objective. This is the Generation They're Looking For. This is the Safe Rafah They Talk About," One Surviving Family Member Said.
— The Intercept | By Olivia Rosane | April 29, 2024
Israeli airstrikes killed between 20 and 30 people in Rafah Sunday night, including at least five children.
Among the slain children was a one-year-old boy whose parents had been trying to have a child for 10 years before he was finally born.
"This is who they are targeting," the boy's uncle, Mahmoud Abu Taha, said in a video shot by CNN in the courtyard of Rafah's Abu Youssef al-Najjar Hospital. "This is their objective. This is the generation they're looking for. This is the safe Rafah they talk about."
"Nowhere is safe. The entire Gaza Strip is a target."
As Abu Taha spoke, he lifted the lifeless body of his nephew toward the camera.
"His name is Deif-Allah (meaning guest in Arabic) and he was indeed a guest," Abu Taha further toldReuters. "He came as a guest after (his parents) longed for (him) for so long, after 10 years."
"Ten people (were killed), the mother, her daughter, her granddaughters, her grandson, her son-in-law, their daughters and relatives, everyone. They're all gone, all 10 of them," Abu Taha added.
As the threat of a full-scale ground invasion of Rafah still looms, the Israeli Defense Forces have continued to regularly bomb Gaza's southernmost city, where more than 1.5 million Gazans have fled seeking relative safety from Israel's lethal assault on the enclave.
Airstrikes late Sunday into early Monday struck three homes, The Associated Press reported:
The first killed 11 people, including four siblings aged 9 to 27, according to records at the Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital, where the bodies were taken. The second strike killed eight people, including a 33-year-old father and his 5-day-old boy, according to hospital records. The third strike killed three siblings, aged 23, 19, and 12. An Associated Press reporter saw the bodies at the hospital.
According to the video shot by CNN, the name of the five-day-old boy was Ghaith Abu Rayya.
"We are all alone. Nobody cares about us," a man cried out in the video as he opened a small body bag show Abu Rayya's head. He said the rest of the infant's body had been destroyed by the bomb.
Another mourner at the hospital told CNN, "Nowhere is safe. The entire Gaza Strip is a target."
The AP calculated the final death toll from the Rafah bombings at 22, including five children and six women. Reuters reported that 30 were killed.
Israel also carried out deadly airstrikes in other parts of Gaza Sunday night. The IDF killed five people, including women and children, when it fired a missile at the Tartouri family home west of Gaza City, the International Middle East Media Center reported. Another missile hit the home of the Hijazi family south of Gaza City, killing two women.
Another person was killed by an IDF missile that hit a car in central Gaza, while the Palestinian Civil Defense teams discovered 13 bodies amid the ruins of bombed homes in Khan Younis' Al-Amal neighborhood.
All told, the Gaza Health Ministry announced Monday that Israel had carried out three massacres against Gazan families in the last 24 hours, killing 34 and wounding 68. This brings the total death toll from Israel's assault on the Gaza Strip to at least 34,488, though that is likely an undercount as many remain buried beneath rubble and Israel has besieged and bombarded several hospitals, damaging or destroying nearly 84% of the strip's healthcare facilities and making record keeping more difficult.
Israel's devastating campaign in the Gaza Strip began in October 7 in response to Hamas' deadly attack on Southern Israel that killed approximately 1,100 and saw around 240 taken hostage. Prior to October 7, Israel had blockaded Gaza for 16 years and occupied the Palestinian West Bank for 56 years.
Sunday's bombings came as cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas are set to restart Monday, with Egypt hosting Hamas leaders to facilitate the discussion.
"We are hopeful the proposal has taken into account the positions of both sides, has tried to extract moderation from both sides, and we are waiting to have a final decision," Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said at a World Economic Forum meeting on Monday.
In a recent piece published online, Hebrew University Holocaust and genocide scholar Amos Goldberg added his voice to the growing number of human rights and international law experts who have labeled Israel's actions in Gaza a genocide.
"What is happening in Gaza is genocide because the level and pace of indiscriminate killing, destruction, mass expulsions, displacement, famine, executions, the wiping out of cultural and religious institutions, the crushing of elites (including the killing of journalists), and the sweeping dehumanization of the Palestinians—create an overall picture of genocide, of a deliberate conscious crushing of Palestinian existence in Gaza," Goldberg wrote in the essay published in translation on Medium.

🚨 Director of Martyr Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital:
The health sector in Gaza is out of service in every sense of the word.
We appeal to every living conscience to open the Rafah crossing.
The first batch of medical aid was shrouds and tests for Corona virus.
We need beds and mattresses for patients because they lie on the floor.
The cases today are more than they were when the war began.
We have bodies lying on the ground because the refrigerators have reached capacity.
The truce did not exempt medical teams from work.
We opened some clinics inside schools and shelter centers, but they are not sufficient.
Intestinal and skin infections are widespread among the displaced.
We need to open the Rafah crossing to transfer the wounded and relieve the Gaza Strip’s hospitals.
We cannot work without the return of electricity to Gaza.
There is no safe place in the entire Gaza Strip, including mosques and churches.

West of Rafah, in the south of Gaza, 15 Palestinian civilians were slaughtered and dozens more wounded when Israeli occupation aircraft bombed the home of the Nafal family. Most of the wounded were transferred to Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital.
In Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, occupation warplanes targeted a home, killing several people and wounding others who were taken to al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Occupation artillery fired heavily on the eastern and southern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis, in the south of the enclave, murdering dozens and wounding many more, the majority of which were displaced civilians from Gaza City and elsewhere in northern Gaza.
In the al-Bureij and al-Maghazi Refugee Camps, heavy Israeli bombing and shelling slaughtered at least 20 civilians, the majority being women, children and the elderly.
Multiple Palestinians were killed and several others wounded after Israeli occupation jets bombed the Asalia family home in the Jabalia Camp area in northern Gaza.

In the Nuseirat Refugee Camp area of central Gaza, at least one civilian was killed and a number of others injured as a result of an occupation warplane which targeted a civilian home in an airstrike.
Meanwhile, heavy clashes take place between al-Qassam and other Resistance forces, and occupation soldiers in every axis of the war, across the entire Gaza Strip.
According to the Resistance, occupation soldiers attempted a rescue of one of Hamas' hostages, but Resistance fighters managed to repel the attack.
Occupation warplanes, artillery, ships, and soldiers all continue to pound civilians in the Gaza Strip, with further dead and wounded resulting from the endless barrages.
