As an archaeologist and historian of gameplay and material culture, I’d be delighted to provide you with a brief overview of the history of games in East Asia and beyond the Western canon. Games have been an integral part of human culture for centuries, serving as a source of entertainment, education, and social interaction. Let’s dive into the rich gaming traditions of East Asia and explore some…

So the world is full of problems and being a naive 12 yo, Dani thinks she can fix those problems.
So she follows the best example.
Red hood
And she becomes a crime boss.
And she’s far better than anyone would think. Discreetly taking over various mafias around the world.
Eventually, the anti ecto acts are put in place worldwide.
So Dani (17) and Jazz (21)move to the only place that has citizens that would willingly lie to the government. Danny is in the ghost zone, attempting to evacuate all ghosts on earth dnd then get to work trying to dismantle the AEA. A process that could take over a year or so.
So Dani moves most of her forces to Gotham.
In my mind, Dani’s mobster name is Fantasma btw and her henchmen/loyal workers are called the Draugur.
But Gotham is cursed and over run with violent ghosts, and because Jazz has collage (transferred from Central Collage) and has to keep a job she can’t handle the ghosts.
So Dani is now moonlighting as the vigilante Wraith.
And Jazz is making her go to school during the day (Gotham academy)
While she’s in Gotham, Fantasma catches the attention of the bats because they’re not going to miss what is obviously a big player with a reputation coming into Gotham.
So they send a bat to go undercover
Damian
Damian is like 17 and has just transitioned out of Robin (you can decide whos Robin in his place) and is now (what we vigilante you what him to be, but I’m using Nocturne in this post)
For his first solo mission, he goes undercover as a henchman in the Draugurs. (He wears a mask so he doesn’t get discovered at a Wayne/bat). The only information the bats have is that Fantasma is around his age.
Unsurprisingly, he’s really good at undercover work.
He (undercover name is Crow) quickly makes his way up the ranks.
And he eventually meets the boss Fantasma and becomes her right hand.
And eventually begins to fall for her.
At the same time, he’s trying to catch the new antihero Wraith, who is a very flirty pain in the butt. He’s also been assigned to be the partner of a new student in his class, Danielle, who is incredibly ditzy and clumsy. But she’s not stupid, Damian knows better than to assume that. Especially when she scores highly than him on their geography test.
Basically an entire love hexagon AU including
- henchmen x boss
- vigilante x vigilante/antihero
- academic rivals AU
Relationship guide
Fantasma x Crow- boss that trust her second hand with her life despite not know in his real name. Henchman that is slowly catching feelings and becoming very guilty for lying to her
Nocturne x Wraith- vigilante is getting increasingly irritated by the new Antihero, who thinks the vigilante is hot and flirts with him the entire time they’re together
Dani x Damian- klutzy, clumsy, and popular student ends up having a rivalry with perfect, cold, and outcast over grades and tests. They hate each other.
I love this prompt, and there’s so much I could add to this.
Any thoughts? Would love to hear them!! :))

I’ve gone from having nothing really to talk about on here to having too much to discuss in one post. I take that as an excitement though, rather than a hindrance. I guess I’ll start by saying I started my anatomy course! My professor really is clearly passionate about his subject and I think it’s different enough from my other traditional psych or ling classes that I find great enjoyment in it. I think it this was another course about Freud or Pavlov I might jump out a window. So done with those people. I haven’t started reviewing any material due to my CASPer taking priority, but I finished that one yesterday so today will be the start of my review. Expect more content soon!

As An IzuOcha Shipper…
…them not ending up together isn’t the problem.
Horikoshi taking the “leave it up to interpretation” approach and then proceeding to COMPLETELY AVOID ADDRESSING their relationship status is the problem.
Horikoshi failing to tie up that one last loose end for Uraraka’s character arc (not closing off her feelings) is the problem.
Again, I ship IzuOcha. Still do, because I’m stubborn. Would I have liked for them to end up together, even if it was only a somewhat blatant implication that could be handwaved? Obviously. But you know what? Maybe I would be upset if the story went out of its way to explicitly de-confirm any chance of Midoriya and Uraraka being a romantic pairing, but I’d at least respect it and understand it a lot more if the story let Midoriya and Uraraka actually talk about this, or at the very least SHOWED US them talking about this. I’d understand if Uraraka completed her character arc by having a heart to heart with Midoriya and telling him that her feelings have changed, her priorities have changed, and Midoriya understands and they remain good friends. Let’s be real, romance isn’t Horikoshi’s strong suit, despite his many attempts to leave romantic implications throughout the series. I’d completely understand if he just had Midoriya and Uraraka talk and they didn’t end up together, because at least then it still provides both of their characters with closure.
But no, that’s too simple. Let’s just “leave it up to interpretation,” because it clearly wasn’t that important, right?
Well, as many people on the internet have already brought up, if it wasn’t so important, why did you spend so much time putting emphasis on it? Why did you have Uraraka, up until the FINAL WAR, have her crush on Midoriya be a crucial part of her character (it wasn’t her only character trait, mind you, but it was still important)? Why did the penultimate chapter have the class come to comfort Uraraka and tell her that they can talk to her… and then come the next chapter, Uraraka apparently hasn’t done anything regarding her supposed crush on Midoriya? For literal YEARS!?
…see, this isn’t even a shipping problem anymore. This is a character problem.
Horikoshi, for whatever reason, chose not to include a romance for the main character and his supposed love interest. And again, that’s fine, not every story needs to be a romance. Two problems with it here though (well, one problem and an observation):
1) Choosing to not at least address the romantic subplot with a “I think we’re better off as friends” encounter, thus actually concluding the subplot and providing a sense of closure, not only leaves the result feeling underwhelming and frustrating, but also actively damages Uraraka’s character arc. We can have her address the problem that caused people like Toga to exist, but heaven forbid she talks about romance with Midoriya.
2) Despite his supposed aversion to romance, Horikoshi still went out of his way to give Gentle and La Brava wedding rings… he’s willing to establish a side romantic pairing without bringing too much attention to it, but he can’t be bothered to do something similar for the arguable MAIN pairing? It’s the “Togata has special clothes so he doesn’t end up buck naked, but Hagakure’s still gotta go commando” debacle again…
I’ma go ahead and wrap this up ‘cause I don’t wanna keep y’all much longer, but like… being optimistic, this ending was… functional. I’ve got my problems with it, obviously, I don’t think it was BAD bad… but it certainly wasn’t good. It works. Barely. And it’s ‘cause of stuff like this.
Midoriya and Uraraka didn’t need to end up together, truly. All Horikoshi had to do was put the smallest amount of effort and give us something of substance, something with closure. Instead, we got what we got.
I get that he was exhausted and wanted the manga to be over… but that excuse only holds up for so long.

@m6glock on Twitter
Hello everyone, I wanted to make this post to announce that I have a Twitter account in which I dedicate myself exclusively to making threads about crimes with informative proposals and a neutral point of view.
I dedicate myself to collecting information by hand and verifying if it is true, I have already made two threads, one about the Academic Maniacs and another about Randy Stair. An example is that I managed to contact the fiancé of one of the criminals (Artyom Anoufriev) to verify information and even post an update on how he is currently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing is that I have no interactions or visits, I don't earn anything by doing this, but I would like this to reach more people. I tried to upload videos to TikTok announcing my account from two different profiles, but they have been deleted 5 times.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me reach more people, I repeat, I do it for pure pleasure and because I enjoy it, but it's not very funny if nobody sees it. If anyone decides to follow me, I'll let you know right now that I moot back and interact, but since no one sees my posts, I was reconsidering the idea of reposting them here as well
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to read this post.

trying to gather my thoughts on unruhe. something about this exchange is so vital to me…about how scully maybe isn’t as natural a seeker as mulder. about how her work as a pathologist is focused on “how” rather than “why”…whereas mulder’s profiling is the inverse. a woman is dead and a man killed her and no amount of probing the inner workings of his psyche, his dreams, his nightmares will remedy that situation. discovering the why doesn’t bring about any deeper sense of justice or peace. because really, no why could ever really explain the mundane horror of a woman’s abduction and murder. if anything, it just more starkly reveals the ugly simplicity of the human capacity for cruelty.
but i also love how later, she leans on the why. she channels mulder and his profiler brain. schnauz even picks up on it (“great. now they got you talking like sigmund freud,” in reference to him calling mulder freud during his interrogation). she asks him why he does it. why her. why this. why did his sister kill herself. why did his father do what he did. part of it’s to keep schnauz talking but it’s also another example of how she reaches for him, even metaphorically, in moments of fear and difficulty.
i also love how this episode, with its themes of unrest and strife and trouble, focuses on scully. mulder is usually the more restless character, always searching and seeking and chasing and moving. but scully is just as, if not maybe even more so. her mother’s remaining daughter. her father’s disappointment. a catholic to her bones, even as she lapses. a woman in a man’s job. who imagines a life to be a husband and kids and big sunday dinners, but who can’t stop following the mad man in the basement. who always insists she’s fine, who locks it all away, who chafes and squirms and explodes in impulsive incendiary bursts. who is always always trying.
there are just some things we don’t or can’t look too deeply into. if god is real, or why the woman in front of us is dead. scully will dig and scrape for proof and explanations for many things, but some interrogations aren’t worth the effort, or the fear of what might be found. some things just are, and they’re too big to move or change or overcome. women die because men kill them. what the hell does it matter?
#the x files#does this say anything at all? you decide.#to me this is especially a specific moment that points out the difference is gender dynamic between mulder and scully#which is not to say that mulder fails to grasp the depth of vulnerability women particularly face - he often does#but there sometimes feels like there’s something a little more…academic? to his approach? as a profiler and an investigator#in the sense of like. seeking out reasons and building out the psyche of the perpetrator even once he’s caught#like there’s a woman lying dead on the road and her killers in custody so why are we talking about dreams and nightmares and psychic photos?#scully as a woman who has experienced gendered violence doesn’t need to go probing because this is how the world is#men kill women because they can.#there is something vital about living in a violent world as a woman that mulder cannot fully understand#idk if i’m articulating my thoughts on this clearly at all#like there’s so much here…the fact that it’s lobotomies…the loss of the mind and sense of self#and scully is or at least likes to think of herself as cerebral so that’s terrifying to contemplate#and then being confronted with how restless she is and refusing to look at it….#also i know at the end she says she sees the value in looking at why monsters do what they do in order to understand them#and ultimately stop them#but i think that still troubles her and#doesn’t come easily to her#IDK i’m just saying stuff ok bye

it's funny because both reactionary self-identified "communists" and people taking the revolutionary/radical/pro-liberation/whatever position in some discourse will refer to marx as a reactionary. reactionary "communists" in order to back up their point, and non-reactionaries in some dismissive "marx isn't the be-all-and-end-all" way. how about you both actually read the guy to find out what he thought. groundbreaking idea i know. you will oft come to find that He Did Not Fucking Think That [reactionary stance] and in fact explicitly argued Against whatever given reactionary stance ppl are arguing about.

Which gods "canonically" had dark skin and can you provide sources?
Search for this: Zeus: ‍Σκοτιτας ‍Skotitas, it might be more related to the darkness of the skies that he brings but it is interesting that he is related to the dark as well. https://lsj.gr/wiki/%CF%83%CE%BA%CE%BF%CF%84%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%82
List of all Epithets of Dionysus:
You can see mentioned: Oenops (wine-faced) or Oinops (wine-dark/wine-faced). Yes, dark wined like the dark sea.
For more linguistic discussion of the word: https://kosmossociety.org/searching-for-oinops/
Here it is mentioned that they called the same tone the bulls in relation to Dionysus: https://docta.ucm.es/rest/api/core/bitstreams/968a302d-54ae-4b52-b59c-c7c7a6f22978/content
well, the bulls in the mediterranean area: https://s3.abcstatics.com/abc/www/multimedia/opinion/2024/05/03/toros-tribuna-abierta-U55606351246OZe-1024x512@diario_abc.jpg
From the cult of Heroes we have the epithet of dark-faced Pelops. https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/classics/intranets/students/modules/greekreligion/database2/template-copyb
And also referring to pre-greek, Fenician and other deities that merged with Greek ones. Let’s not forget that there are so many local representations of the deities because the greek people had colonies all around the Mediterranean.
actually the cult of goddesses that had dark skin is typical throughout the Mediterranean area and even in my country Catalonia, we have a patron who used to be a mountain goddess (Christianized now is another Mother of God: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgen_de_Montserrat
Hm...this statue of La Verge de Montserrat seems familiar...Oh yes!: https://www.flickr.com/photos/hen-magonza/48061547101/
Artemis of Ephesus was also represented dark skinned.
Andromeda: https://www.theroot.com/gateway/black-actors-and-films-that-shouldve-won-oscars-but-di-1851766836
This is just a quick search of 15-20 minutes, since I have little time in between my two jobs and trying to write a doctoral thesis...Sorry I can’t be of much help here. I suggest talking with classicists, I'm unfortunately not one of them. I'm just a mere polytheistic practitioner that's all. And next, this is just my personal opinion since I was born here in the Mediterranean and this is just the religion that was practiced here (the ruins of an Apollo-Diana temple are just 10 minutes away from my building in fact) The thing is, the Gods as seen and represented are originally from the Mediterranean area, I mean ALL of it, including parts of Africa. If they weren’t black skinned then they were ‘golden skinned’ like one of the Hekate's epithets if you need to know what kind of skin tone I’m talking about I suggest you visit either the south of Italy or the South of Spain. Real living people have this skin tone. The most typical feature you can find here is people who have dark hair and this type of skin tone.
