Okay, but I need to talk about Good Omens and The Sound of Music.

First of all, I’m genuinely obsessed with it being explicitly canon that The Sound of Music exists in the GO universe and is, for some reason, God’s favorite movie. Neil says here that Heaven misses the point of the movie/musical, but I find it incredibly fascinating that Aziraphale outwardly despises it. 

Brief summary of The Sound of Music incoming as well as some really interesting parallels:

So we've got Julie Andrews playing Maria, who is studying to become a nun in an abbey in Salzburg. Problem is, she isn't the best nun, and is often late to chapel and just isn't the shining beacon of holiness that the rest of the nuns expect her to be.

In response to this, the Reverend Mother of the abbey decides to send Maria to live with sexy widower Georg von Trapp, a navy captain who desperately needs help with his seven children. The Captain is a bit of a hard-ass since the death of his wife, and has been treating his kids like little soldiers as well as banning music from the house.

The 7 kids are rambunctious and make things difficult for Maria at first. But one night, a thunderstorm scares them, and they run to Maria for comfort. The kids realize that Maria is really fun, and then later, when their dad is off to Vienna, the kids and Maria end up running around Salzburg singing, dancing, climbing trees, and having a blast.

When the Captain comes home and hears about this, he sends Maria away. But then he overhears the children singing a song Maria taught them and he gets all emo and remembers how much music meant to him and his late wife. He asks Maria to stay after hearing the song, telling her she's brought joy back to their house.

And oops, Maria and the Captain are falling for each other, but the Captain is sort of kind of dating this blonde bombshell.

There's a big fuck-off party, and the Captain and Maria dance together.

But, oh, no, Blondie saw them and can clearly tell they're in love. She tells Maria what she's seen and Maria is freaking out cause she's just realized she's in love.

Mentally, my girl Maria is going through a lot. She thinks she’s disappointed God by falling in love when she was supposed to be doing a job. She feels scared by the depth of her feelings and because of all these emotions, she runs away. Back to the Abbey. Back to presumed safety.

Mother Superior figures out what happened real quick and tells Maria that she isn’t wrong for falling in love. She sends her back to the Von Trapps, and it's such a great scene. If you wanna watch, I included a link below.

Maria goes back, and the kids are elated and she and the Captain confess their feelings (and oh my god, don't even get me started on the lyrics to the song they sing to each other while confessing, Something Good).

So that's the Sound of Music. There's a subplot going on with WW2 and the Captain being pressured to join the Nazi regime (which he is very against). King, we love him.

I pointed out some obvious parallels, but I'd also like to pull some random thoughts together here:

Mother Superior (God) is the one that sends Maria (Aziraphale) to help the Von Trapps (humans) in the first place.

Maria (Aziraphale) extends grace and patience with the children (humans) and refuses to give up on them, even going so far as to disobey their father by letting them fuck around and be kids (going against God's wishes and giving humans the flaming sword).

Mother Superior (God) also sends Maria (Aziraphale) back to the Von Trapps after realizing that Maria (Aziraphale) is in love with the Captain (Crowley).

Here's to hoping we see God telling Azi that loving a demon is chill and he should go back to earth in S3.

Overall, it's incredibly amusing to me that Aziraphale, our Aziraphale, doesn't like The Sound of Music, with the main plot being about a woman who choses love over religious obligations and a man who rejects an authoritarian regime so that he might make his own way in the world.

Maybe Aziraphale recognizes the parallels and is in denial. Or maybe he just prefers Sondheim...

— he used to say “i love you” to you using the signs language by the way. you found that’s kind of adorable for a beastman like him.

— boy, epel would literally freak out at first when he knew that you’re deaf ! but don’t worry, he doesn’t freak out in a weird way. he’s just too surprise when he heard that.

— epel would use his body language to tell you what he wants to say instead. however, he still learns the signs language, with you ! as his personal teacher.

— you’re his boyfriend ? he’s fully and forever ready to got into his manly side just to beat whoever said that your signs language is funny.

— you said in your voice once to him, and now he told you to say something with your voice everyday (of course he asked you in signs language). but also he wants to make sure that you aren’t annoyed by this.

— he might try to find a way to cure your deafness. he asks crewel, trein, sam, literally anyone that know how to get rid of the deafness. he never give up though, and you’re kinda worry for him instead of yourself.

— he will never leave your side if you need help with translate. the teacher wants you to bring something to other place ? he translated it to you and helped you with the things.

— sebek is loud. everyone knows that obviously. but when he said in caps in front of you, he felt weird because you just tilted your head at him and asked what is he saying.

— agh. . . he didn’t know you are deaf. he sorry you multiple times and you forgave him. it’s not really a big deal to you when someone didn’t know you are deaf.

— sebek would try to learn the signs language with you. although he can’t understand what is it but you’re his boyfriend ! he’ll never ever give up learning or memorizing these just for you.

— you said “i love you” in the signs language to him and he somehow understood that. he literally remembers the way you do it until now.

— sebek loves to compliment your voice over and over again. he did ask you why didn’t you use your voice more often but you said it was your personal reason and he understands.

— as a guard for malleus of course he can’t be around with you as much as he could but he has tried to find some free time to check up on you.

We've been speculating that there's timeline nonsense going on in season 2. That's a main facet of the Sideburn Theory. But it never made any sense to me until maybe just now.

I'll have to rewatch it later to see if it actually makes any sense, but what if in the Original Timeline, Crowley wasn't there for any of this?

What if he was off doing something else and when Aziraphale called, he didn't pick up? Which leads to Aziraphale doing everything on his own, taking care of Gabriel. He takes the train to Edinburgh. The angels and the demons still come to the bookshop. The Metatron still gives Aziraphale the offer. He thinks of Crowley, how dangerous this all is and how much worse (and how much better) it would have been if Crowley had been there.

Crowley shows up at the end, to say No, let's just run away together. Don't go to Heaven. What are you even talking about? What happened?

And Aziraphale goes to Heaven anyway. Leaving a heartbroken Crowley behind.

And what if that Original Timeline Crowley, this being who can stop time, realizes he can reverse it? He goes back to a few days ago, when Aziraphale was still on Earth, he sets up a meeting with Shax who he has found out is his replacement. He wants to talk about what's going on these days.

"What's even the point of it all?"

And because he's in the car when the phone rings, and he was headed to Aziraphale's anyway, he's there to help.

"How can I help you?"

He sees Gabriel in the bookshop, he freaks out. Oh, so THIS is what happened. Get him out of the bookshop, Aziraphale doesn't leave.

Doesn't work. He gets kidnapped by Beez, who tells him about Extreme Sanctions and what Aziraphale got himself into. Crowley realizes he has to follow this path a bit longer. He goes back, apologies for saying Aziraphale would be doing this alone. They work together. They protect him.

Eventually, Aziraphale wants to go to Edinburgh. He wants to take Crowley's car. Not the train. Aziraphale reaches out to touch the car, Crowley slaps his hand away.

"The Bentley is MY car."

But he lets Aziraphale go. He protects Gabriel, he protects the bookshop, he knows they're coming for Aziraphale. But the angel isn't here. Crowley is nervous, but also relieved.

And then Aziraphale comes back. They plan the Street Meeting. Crowley still doesn't know how he's gonna try and keep Aziraphale on earth. Aziraphale doesn't know what's going on with Gabriel.

And then Nina talks to Crowley about love. Crowley realizes, that's it. Maybe I can just love him enough to stay.

The battle happens. Crowley figures out what happened to Gabriel. He lets the Metatron talk to Aziraphale because that was inevitable anyway. Nine and Maggie tell him to tell Aziraphale he loves him. Crowley realizes that would help, in every way that would be good.

He's nervous but he says the words.

Or, he tries to.

Aziraphale still wants to go to Heaven

What? Even now? After I supported you these past days? After we survived this together? After 6000 years? After everything? This is still the choice you make?

So Crowley tells him he loves him, as best as he can.

It doesn't work.

He kissed him.

It doesn't work.

Nothing worked.

Aziraphale goes to Heaven anyway.

And this time, Crowley lets the time tick forward

Crowley dying in s3

I wasn't sure how to start this meta. I've had this theory with possible (big possible) evidence sitting around for ages and I just didn't know what to do with the information.

After I'd already had this information, I only seen a hand full of others talk about it, but none have touched on it in the same way as the things I've found in my research.

So let's get on with it. For reference I'm going to tag @nightingalecottage and their lovely post here. I really recommend reading it. This theory only saw the light of day because of their post and I told them I would tag them with my meta since it lends a lot to it. And I promised myself that I would finish this for them.

Now for the meat and potatoes. I'll break it all down about how I found this information and how it might lend some theory about possible plot to s3.

This got really long so I put a cut.

The facts were these.

To start I was doing research for a fic I'm working on and the details don't matter much but I'd planned to make my 'human' crowley a barrister. I was googling famous barristers for inspiration.

This lead me to wikipedia naturally as you do. And as I was looking over the list I saw this.

After seeing this name on the list of barristers in popular culture I had a mini freakout. Mainly because two things NG is a huge fan of Charles Dickens and A Tale of Two Cities is on the bookclub reading list. And I kept thinking why did this seem familiar and this is why.

A Tale of Two Cities is on the list of books that they recommend we read or were found in s2. So after I stopped freaking out I immediately went to the wiki page for this character. I wasn't too familiar with this book so I wanted to know more. As I was now super invested and intrigued. And found this.

Sydney Carton

I couldn't help be blown away by the similarities here between Sydney Carton and a certain depressed snake demon from s2. Morosely asking Shax on a bench in the first episode "What's the point of it all?"

For some context, in the novel Sydney Carton and his later best friend Charles Darnay share a striking semblance and are easily mistaken for each other. This is how Sydney is then able to make the switch with Darnay in the end saving his life.

This brings to mind of the lore that we know that Crowley and Aziraphale were once long ago one character and split into two. Also with the ideal casting choice that Terry Pratchett wanted one actor to play both roles. That would have been really interesting and funny. Also this plays into our favorite duo MS and DT having not worked together before because they were up for the same roles.

Let's move on to

Charles Darnay

Darnay resents his uncle's views much how Aziraphale resents certain aspects of heaven, but is never able to act on very much.

The note about Darnay being tutor of French made me chuckle considering what we know about Aziraphale being terrible at French. With that whole scene centered around it in s2.

Ok so we all are well versed and familiar with the famous Bastille scene. We all know the one and its clear the inspiration here for it comes from A Tale of Two Cities possibly.

Side note Darnay and Carton are both in love with Lucie here, but I posit that in the case of Good omens, Aziraphale is possibly both Darnay and Lucie. Making him the best friend and love intrest.

And finally why does any of this matter and what does this have to do with Crowley maybe dying in s3 you ask?

The one important detail in all of this is that at the end of the novel Carton heroically sacrificed himself to save his best friend and for the women he loves. He feels it gave him purpose and felt as if his life finally had meaning.

Two things here. The scene in which Carton swaps places with Darnay being able to pass as him well enough to save his life. Is very reminiscent of our Body Swap from s1. As well as the idea that in s3 this could also happen, but in the sense that Crowley does it to save Aziraphale's life. I clearly have no idea how s3 will play out.

Now I'm not saying that s3 will be as dramatic as all of this. It is still a comedy at its core. As others have touched on in meta and in nightingalecottage's post there are many little hints that point to the similarities and the idea that Crowley maybe doomed by the narrative. In a way, I personally don't think that Crowley's hypothetical death will be permanent. I just do not see that happening at all. A temporary death I could definitely see and it could also serve to show how much Crowley truly means to Aziraphale. The shock of it would maybe be similar to how Crowley thought he lost Aziraphale in s1 and could be a parallel.

In the end this is all speculation and theory. Either way the idea of it all makes me vibrate and I needed to finally share this with someone else. They wouldn't have recommended this book if there wasn't some sort of meaning here right? And its entirely possible I'm looking in the wrong direction.

Overall there are many parallels and similarities here between A Tale of Two Cities and certain parts of Good Omens, I'm sure I may have missed some and I just wanted to end this now before it gets too long. also my bestie is the same with human AUs so i completely get it, and am so pleased & proud my work can be considered so in character to bypass that worry. i agree that the 6,000 years of pining, as well as their separation from the rest of humanity, is a massively integral part of what makes aziraphale and crowley. but imo their lil everyday interactions are just as important, like their flow of conversation and all the temptation vs resistance.

so as long as human AUs recreate that dynamic in some way, they can be sooo fun to read. and then you unlock a whole new range of stories for when you get tired of the same/similar End Of The World narrative. it's hard to get it right, especially when writing a completely different medium like twitch chats and discord messages, but soooo rewarding when it lands 😭🙏 thank you again.

More Siblings! Brainrot

Yuno's Perspective

Yuno left to Vesuvia to set up shop and earn money for their family (mainly to support their siblings)

Their parents are dead :(

Yuno would send letters with money to Yuki and Yuu

When Yuno died due to the plauge, they stopped sending letters, causing a lot of concern with the two younger siblings.

By this point, Yuki was the breadwinner of the house, though both of the siblings would be transported to other worlds

Each of the siblings follows the main canon, if only some slight variations.

Mainly, with Yuno, they defeat the devil and ends up becoming friends with all the characters (Lucio isn't banished or whatever. He does step down as king and becomes Nadia's general tho)

Ok anyways Yuno didn't remember their siblings at all after they revived

Since they never mentioned their siblings often, Asra and Julian do not mention Yuki or Yuu to them

Only because Scout guided Yuno back to some of their old childhood memories did Yuno remember.

Yuno went on a journey to find their siblings again, only to find out that they had mysteriously dissapeared

Yuno is freaking out, unsure if they had left due to Yuno disappearing or if they had fallen victim to the Red Plauge

They're devastated, returning back to Vesuvia with a heavy heart.

When they do return, they focus on helping Nadia with improving the Vesuvia, traveling with Portia and Asra and establishing diplomatic relations, training with Lucio, helping the public with Julian, and going back to Muriel's ancestral home to tend to the graves

Then, one day, when Yuno is traveling, Scout appears. Curiously, Scout looks excited, tugging Yuno. They follow, unsure as to where the excited pup was guiding them.

Then, they come onto an empty field, standing on a rock. Confused, Yuno looked down, and saw their two siblings.

Cue a very tearful reunion between the siblings.

"Where were you??" "I died." "YOU WHAT?"

Yuki and Yuu were shocked to hear that Yuno had died due to the plague, but was later revived. Their siblings were disheartened to hear that they did not remember the two of them, however they are glad that Yuno went to look for them once they did remember

Now, Yuki and Yuu explain what they have been up to.

Yuno is shocked that they ended up in different worlds. Which is odd, but magic exists anything can really happpen.

They're about to throw hands with Crowley. How dare he leave their precious sibling in some run down building!? Did he even offer them food and water?

Yuno also feels terrible, wishing that they taught Yuu some simple magic spells that would've helped them during their time at NRC

Nearly dies of a heart attack after hearing how many times Yuu has almost died. Overblots? Hardly know 'em. Absolutely horrified at Twisted Wonderland's magic system

Yuki was in hell. Yuki was in hell.

Yuno's going to pull up to hell and beat up Belphegor for actually murdering Yuki. Even if they are alive.

Yuno is happy that Yuki knows magic, and is willing to teach Yuki more (Mostly self defense magic for...reasons)

Now Yuno wants to meet Yuki and Yuu's friends/found family and make sure that they're being treated with the love that they themselves couldn't give them.

hello to both obey me fans and twisted wonderland fans with this one

Crossover fic (with kind of a Malleyuu-centric plot) where it's set in a sort of fantasy/medieval setting and it's basically "Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper" but with the mcs and there's less kidnapping and also it's a bit more silly

basically om!mc (let's call them Yuki) is this well-known "demon master" but rlly they're Just A Guy the seven brothers accidentally got attached to who also happens to be feral and op af. meanwhile twst!mc (Yuu) is a worker/assistant for Crowley or smthg idk. Anyways Yuki and Yuu meet, realise they look exactly alike and do the "I'm just like you!!" song and dance, and Yuki promises to help Yuu with their debt to Crowley.

Something Happens though, idk what, but Yuki suddenly has to leave. The problem with this is that uh oh the fae of Briar Valley are coming to visit and relations between demons and fae are going to be Fucked if Yuki, a member of Diavolo's council and one of the Most Important People Ever because of their heritage, is a no-show. So, Yuu (after being promised financial compensation of course) has to stand in and pretend to be them while the fae are there, or at least until Yuki gets back.

Anyways quick flashback to An Undetermined Amount of Time: Yuu, while trying to have some time for themself, runs into a guy in some ruins. They call him Tsunotarou because of his horns and they end up exchanging letters, meeting up more, and becoming friends. Somehow, Yuu learns everything about him except for his name.

Flash forward back to present day: Yuu undergoes the most unbearable amount of stress they have have ever felt in their life trying to convincingly pretend to be Demon Master Yuki and also not accidentally insult the fae royalty by breathing or something while they're visiting. The moment the crown prince of the fae walks in though, they accidentally blurt out "TSUNOTAROU?!"

Lucifer gets a few extra grey hairs, Diavolo bursts out laughing, and Prince Malleus is shocked but not displeased to see his friend there.

Cue Shenanigans as Malleus and Yuu unknowingly rizz each other up. Yuu freaks out because they feel bad about lying to him about being the Demon Master and also because they're falling in love with him too oh no oh fuck YUKI WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU????

As much as I don't want to dismiss people's theories such as the coffee theory, I think the theory doesn't really make much sense if you just do not read too much into it. I also believe it is much more interesting that it was Aziraphale's decision that affected their relationship instead of it being some sort of coffee trickery. It allows more nuance to the situation with it being Aziraphale's decision and makes his character more round so when he develops from that it will be more satisfying imho. I also agree that Aziraphale never truly got over his thinking even in S1. There is also a difference between him wanting to stop the world's destruction versus overcoming his thinking process to the point that he chooses to be with Crowley fully.

Exactly. Like whatever helps you cope with your feelings, people, but this theory is freaking horrendous for Aziraphale's character development. It takes all agency from him and his decisions.

Also, from a relationship perspective, the flaws on Aziraphale's side are already there, we see them spread through the whole season. Crowley says himself that Aziraphale just calls him because either he is bored, wants to brag about something (because he is coping with his lost of purpose with Heaven) or something happened. That's basically a summary of why their relationship is not balanced now. In Season 2 we saw them relying on each other but now it is more on Aziraphale's side because Crowley neither has a job but Aziraphale is more needy because unlike him (who started separating himself from both Heaven and Hell early), he has only spent four years away from his respective toxic job. He has come to rely on Crowley so much for everything that it went to point that he didn't consider Crowley's feelings when he made him that horrendous proposal.

You can see it how Crowley's face falls and he starts tearing up when after he emptied his heart out to Aziraphale... Aziraphale turned it his own plea into a job proposal. That has to sting and it probably made him realise that Aziraphale was never going to compromise with him or he probably thought that everything he said meant nothing Aziraphale. And even when Aziraphale pleads for him to stay he is still talking on terms of “working together” not “being together”, it's a mess.

Aziraphale assumes that they can go back to be angels and that Crowley would be happy as he was then. But you can't just go back after trauma, you have to make your way on it. How can he recognise that, though, when he hasn't seen what's wrong with himself?

This is why the coffee theory seems so silly to me, you have a rich conflict there, ripe for some good drama and you want to replace it with some magical brainwashing? Why? There is already brainwashing in this story, it's just the normal kind. And Aziraphale never really got over it, as you said, it's one thing to not want the world to be destroyed and a completely different thing to change your mindset around your ideals, your partner and yourself. To me it was obvious there was something that still had to be worked in Season 1 even if it was a standalone, I guess it would do after the ending.

I think people had an idea that in this season, Aziraphale wouldn't do shit. That would be all just sitting primly and making Nina and Maggie fall in love while Crowley made the fuck ups that caused their relationship tension because he was depressed/bored since he is homeless and living in his car. Coming to a season where Aziraphale makes so many mistakes basically shook their ideas and now they are just desperate for him to become the passive character they were projecting on, despite that making him incredibly boring.

Stirring the drink at the bar, not really feeling like drinking, but hey its a bar, its what your supposed to do right!

The bartender basically screaming over the loud music, 'you okay miss?'

"Yeah of course never been better, love getting stood up," her lips pursed

The barman didn't quite know how to answer that, so he just walked further down to the other end.

Irritated about the fact you got stood up and that it bothers you a tiny bit, you pull out your phone, texting the babysitter, asking if everything is still alright, with Lainey.

The text came through, "Little Lainey is watching my little pony and she already had her dinner, enjoy yourself a bit darling" Mrs Anderson is the only person she trusts with Lainey.  Biting her lip, maybe I should stay a little longer, just enjoy myself for awhile, unwind, the story about the biggest crime syndicate is really taking over my damn life, I'm this close, mimicking with her index finger and thumb, to uncovering the face behind the leader, his code name "The Devil" a crooked smile on her lips, its such a stupid nickname, like are the people supposed to be immediate, well like yeah, here comes the little red man, with his pointy tail and ears, with his little pitch fork, all I know for sure is his name is Crowley, and he goes by the devil, as for how he looks, I'll find that out very soon, well as soon as my source comes through anyway.

''Drinking alone and looking as beautiful as you, is just a crime'' the silvery voice says, breaking her out of her deep thoughts. Turning her head to the barstool next to hers. ''Oh really? last time I checked there's a lot worse crimes in this world'', sounding a little more snarky than she intended. The man with his neatly combed over blonde hair and blue eyes laughs, ''not in the mood for company?'' 

''In all honesty, not if your going to tell me cheesy pick up lines all night'' she sighed.

''Your safe, I promise, that was my last, you have my word'' he laughed

''Okay good! Then your more than welcome to join me,'' sounding inviting

The man, asks for the bartender to give them two more, of whatever she's having. After getting your drinks, the two of you talked, not really exchanging names, merely about how noisy it is, and the fact that, they both got stood up. Still laughing and having fun, some guy bumps into your chair, letting your handbag fall to the ground. ''Hey! Look where you going buddy'' she warned. The guy just gestures a sorry and keeps on stumbling further. 

''This place is getting to crowded, I'm going to head home, as soon as I finish the last few sips'', she expressed

''Leave now? We are just getting to know each other'', his silvery voice, sounded so smooth.

''Biting her lip, yes thank you for the nice chat'' getting up, to only fall back again, holding her head in her hand, "oh wow, how is it possible that I feel so lightheaded, I had two drinks," everything is spinning, my body feels so numb, so outside of myself. Fumbling through her handbag, trying to take her phone. Hearing the bartender say something, the man next to her, sounded so disembodied when he answered, looks like she had a bit to much to drink, I'll take her home, taking ahold of her arm, let's get you home!

Something is wrong, has she been drugged? Trying to get her arms to function to push him away, so that she can get out of his grip, but her body feels weak, her muscles is losing all functionality, as for her eyelids it feels as heavy as stone, she whispers a shaky "no" before everything goes. dark.

Her eyes starting to slightly open, "w..what happened", she mumble's. Glancing over the room, to see if she recognises anything, her view is hazy "where's the man that took her" hearing the dripping sound of water, "it's freezing" breathing heavily, excruciating pain shuttering throughout her body, feeling still slightly numb, tracing her fingers over her abdomen area, her hands trembling when she feels a long incision, and the thread of a wound being closed up, unknowingly tugs at the pointy strand, "what the hell" she gasped.

Forcing herself to see more clearly, glancing down, shaking uncontrollable, her eyes widening, her body is laying in a bathtub covered with ice, some crystal clear, others stained with red, most likely from the blood, still seeping through her left side. "My side its sliced open" she yelled, as if she only realized that what she felt previously was her own body.

Searching across the bathroom, for anything other than the dripping sound and the shaking of her own body, she grabs ahold of the bathtub, her fingers a discoloration of blueish-white, forcing her body over the edge, plumping to the ground, "dammit" she exclaims. Dragging herself across the floor, moaning and whimpering in pain.

Opening the wooden door slowly to peek through, to see if anyone is stil there keeping watch, sighing in relief, "the coast is clear. " Crawling to the edge of the bed, trying to get up, still shaking and weak, she forces herself up, rolling over, taking in a deep breath, her heart is beating rapidly, her throat dry, her voice sounding hoarse. "I need to get to a phone, hospital something"

Grabbing a blanket to wrap up her shaking body, that's only covered in a black sports bra and her black shorts, making her way to a shaky stance. Holding onto whatever she can find as she stumbles out of the room. The bright streetlights making her eyes burn, glaring down the stairs," really the least they could do is butcher me on ground level" irritation in her painstaking voice.

Dragging one foot across the other, down the steel staircase. Searching the parking lot for a vehicle or help of some sort. There in the corner, an old chevy Camaro, "almost there" she sighs.

Pulling the door, praying it isn't locked, "yes, its open" a half smile forming on her tired face. Hoping the keys are still inside, she gets in. "Dammit, no keys, why would it be easy, nothing is every easy" her voice low and weak.

Pulling the ignition with every last bit of strength she has, "need something to strip the plastic covered wires" peeking through the car, in the window hangs a beer opener, reaching for it, taking it to the wires, pulling it across the starter wire, striping the plastic about 1'3 inches back, then doing the same with the battery wire, touching the two ends together, something she learned when she was a teenager, "Come on baby, come, there you go, that's a girl" she whined.

Throwing it in drive, and stepping on the gas, she drives off, leaving a man in her rear view window chasing after her.

Looking at the street signs, trying to read it, but its all a blur, turning down the first left she can find, looks like a residential area, "maybe I can get some help here" she utters desperately.

Feeling the blood rolling down her side onto her thighs, her breathing more shallow and her eyes heavy, knowing she needs help quick! Real quick! Making her foot heavy on the gas, not taking the turn in consideration, she crashes into a wall,  making her head jolt to the steering wheel, glancing over the shattered windscreen, at two men with weapons, running towards her, she looses consciousness.

Hey, I wanted to thank you for writing those metas, I love reading them !

I watched good omens only recently and when I initially went through the good omens meta tag I felt kind of frustrated, since there is a lot of the "Crowley really has to learn to stop running away at the slightest problem" and stuff like that going around.

There was also a lot of "why are there so many people hating on aziraphale" but honestly I have trouble even finding a little criticism of him, so I don't understand why people are defending him, since there isn't even a threat? Or is there a tag for Aziraphale criticism I don't know of? ^^'

I'm a bit of tired of treating him, as if he isn't part of the oldest beings in the universe and didn't have time to challenge his thought process or learn how to, especially on earth with Crowley trying to help with that. When I was watching, Aziraphales well meaning behaviour hurt and his ignorance stung. He really is kind of delusional and I don't even know where I am going with these thoughts.

Hi anon, thank you so much for the message! Sorry for the late reply. I 100% agree with you. Pretty much all I've seen on Tumblr is people defending Aziraphale or trying to reframe it so that Crowley and Aziraphale are equally at fault. I did see people talking about hate Aziraphale was getting on Twitter, but I don't use Twitter so I don't know what anyone might be saying over there.

Aziraphale is definitely woobified by the fandom, and it gets incredibly frustrating. Like, yes, Aziraphale has a lot of religious trauma. But so does Crowley. The opening scene of season 2 establishes that they've had this fundamental difference in views from the start, even before the fall, so I don't get why Aziraphale still gets so much leeway after refusing to change or grow for 6000+ years. He knows the complexities of humanity better than any other angel, but he keeps doubling down on his flawed belief system.

And season 2 really emphasized that Aziraphale's well-meaning ignorance is legitimately harmful. Like he got Morag killed by applying his overly simplistic worldview to a morally gray situation. And then there's the ball scene? The way Aziraphale dragged others into his rose-colored fantasy world was disturbing, especially with how freaked-out Nina was by it. Then Crowley shows up terrified and asking for help, and Aziraphale dismisses his concerns out of hand. He refuses to let Crowley’s worries put a damper on this Jane Austen ball nobody signed up for.

And Crowley was right. Like he was trying to raise the alarm about the very real danger that everyone was in. I’ve seen it framed a lot like Aziraphale is just an optimist and Crowley is a pessimist, but it goes farther than that. Crowley consistently has a more realistic view of Heaven, Hell, and humanity than Aziraphale does. Aziraphale's inability to engage with reality causes actual harm to both humans and to Crowley. It contributed to the world almost ending in season 1, because Aziraphale wasted a lot of time trying to reach the "right people" in Heaven instead of accepting that Heaven is as bad as Hell and trusting the one person that’s been trying to save the world with him for years.

And it's like, yes, Aziraphale is sympathetic. He’ll be very conflicted, and distressed about how conflicted he is, and then he’ll come around and do the right thing in the end. But it's frustrating to watch Aziraphale seeming to grow and then immediately backsliding. Like, he was ready to fall to protect Job's kids. But he didn't, and he went right back to his beliefs. He didn't lose his faith in Heaven despite the Flood, and Job, and Jesus, and the apocalypse.

He also has this superiority complex, where he's the nice one while Crowley is stuck doing the dirty work. "I am a great deal holier-than-thou" and all that. Aziraphale's belief system makes him "good" by definition. He dismisses and overrides Crowley's opinions instead of changing his own because, on some level or another, he thinks he's better than Crowley by design.

So it’s at the point where Aziraphale needs to do some serious self-reflection. He needs to be the one to make the choice to change fundamental beliefs he’s clung onto since the beginning of time. I think he's capable of changing, and I’m looking forward to how it plays out in s3, but I don’t think we’ll be getting a lot of good fix-its from the fandom any time soon. Most of what I've seen is still fans insisting that since they're both flawed they are both at fault, and their relationship can be fixed by just having them both apologize to each other. If people are looking at it beyond that, I don't know where they're discussing it.

Y'all I had the WILDEST fucking dreams all night that were supposed to be GOs2.

It basically involved a bunch of the Old Gods coming back to life and walking the Earth (so it kind of incorporated American Gods). It's -- I can't even give a coherent plot line, but here's what I remember.

It had to do with the second coming of Christ, who was a baby that had to be found by some sort of God of Judgement. Crowley and Aziraphale had been split up by some sort of circumstances, but they were trying to find each other and the Christ baby.

There was a part with Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard, something about looking for the Christ baby at sea. Blackbeard ran into one of the old gods he used to pray to but didn't anymore because he was super violent, that took up an "episode" (yeah it was episodic 3rd person but also occasionally I was one of the characters).

There was an indigenous family who had a son that went to college and graduated but hadn't done anything with his life. His parents were really sweet and chill.

There was a business woman who had found a baby and she somehow ran into Aziraphale. They figured out the baby was the second coming of Christ. Somehow, they also ran into Beelzebub who was in danger of dying if the God of Judgement got his hands on the baby.

Aziraphale and Crowley managed to find each other and they both had different pieces of the puzzle and had also accumulated various people/angels/demons (Crowley had picked up the college son). They devised some sort of plan to disguise a bunch of burritos as babies, and then have a real baby who was not Christ, so it would LOOK like they were trying to hide him and failed, thus hoping to trick the God of Judgement. They sent off the college son with another real baby, and sent off the business woman to hide the real Christ and then meet up with the college guy.

There was a part where Aziraphale and Crowley were being chased and for some reason Aziraphale had to drive and was driving everyone around in a big SUV at top speed while Crowley was freaking out.

Finally, it gets to Judgement Day. Someone who APPEARS to be the God of Judgement appears where Crowley is supposed to have brought the baby. He accuses them all of tricking him. Crowley is SUPER feminine and SUPER sassy in the face of death. This stopped being a story dream and briefly was me texting a friend telling her she needed to hurry up and watch it because I'm DYING over sassy femme Crowley.

Back to the story, it then revealed that the college son was the reincarnation of an ancient demonic spirit and HE KNEW WHERE THE CHRIST BABY WAS. The business woman then became some ancient goddess. However, they both still retained their humanity because they had fallen in love with each other while in hiding and everything about their lives overrode destiny. They made out and became somewhat "normal" again.

Unfortunately, there was no definite conclusion to the dream. They were at the college son's house, but the parents had vanished. Then the ACTUAL God of Judgement showed up looking like some elven king, and tried to get them to give up the location of the baby, but they wouldn't.

And then I was woken up, so I never got to see the end. But there you go.

oooh hmm. "happy ending" is super vague to me ngl, but for most traditionally "and they lived happily ever after," I'll go with my soukoku royalty AU, thy kingdom come.

oooh I've never gotten explicit hate! I've gotten unsolicited concrit and some more bizarre comments that I've ignored before though haha.

nope! I've written some more suggestive scenes in some of my fics (Let the River Rush In and circus freak, for example), but for the time being at least I'm not really interested in writing it.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yes! The Promise of the World, which is a natsuyuu/howl's moving castle crossover, and Letters from Heaven, which is a HQ/Violet Evergarden crossover. Crossovers to me are really fun thought exercises; I like to see how certain events or characters can be interpreted in another canon.

S2 E1 and E6 Parallels

[Disclaimer: Season Two Spoilers!!]

One thing that I noticed recently (and I haven't seen anyone mention it yet) is how similar the arguments are between Crowley and Aziraphale in S2 E1 and E6.

For context, these scenes are (E1) when Crowley and Aziraphale are bickering over what to do with Gabriel's sudden arrival. Crowley wants to dump him somewhere but Aziraphale wants to help him. For (E6), this is the ineffable divorce scene, you know the one.

Firstly, both scenes start off with Crowley as the instigator. In both instances, he's shown as very agitated, stumbling over words, looking about, and looking all together a bit of an anxious mess. This is a side of him we don't normally see. What this is showing us is a pattern of behavior. Crowley seems to be most anxious when he and the things he cares about are threatened, more specifically, threatened by Heaven (ie. this boy has some serious religious trauma). Secondly, I feel like these two scenes also show a change in Crowley since the first season. In Season One, his solution for things was always to run away. He asked Aziraphale in two different instances to run away with him. In this season, however, and with these two scenes, we see that Crowley's go-to solution has changed. Instead of running away, he's standing his ground, he's saying, 'no, we saved the world, it's our world, Heaven and Hell are the ones who should leave'. This, I think, is important because it shows how detached from the two sides Crowley has become. He's not just apart from them now, he's literally on his own side (Earth's side) and he's not willing to give that up, not after he's so painstakingly carved out this 'precious, peaceful, fragile existence' for him, FOR THEM ("I thought we carved it out for ourselves" "So did I!").

Another huge point that I feel connects these two scenes is the 'exactly' bit from the first episode. Crowley literally says "I feel like your exactly and my exactly are different exactly's"!! Which is the whole freaking point of the last scene in (E6). They are both saying the same thing which is essentially "I want us to be together" but they're still different enough in the ways that matter that they don't end up seeing eye to eye. Because what Aziraphale is saying is "Come with me" but Crowley is saying "Stay with me". They both want to be together and they both know that's what the other wants too, but neither are willing to compromise on how to do it so it leads to heartbreak. Also ALSO the line "nothing lasts forever" is a direct parallel to the 'exactly' bit. Hold on, let me explain. Because when Aziraphale says this, he's talking about the bookshop, he's talking about an environment, the vessel through which they spend time together, he's saying that the way they exist together can change (ie. they can exist together in Heaven). But the way Crowley hears it is "nothing lasts forever, even us". The phrase is interpreted differently between the two of them. It's them miscommunicating AGAIN because while they're agreeing ("exactly" "yes, exactly") they also have no idea what the other is really trying to say. It's awful and lovely and rips my heart out (I don't normally like the miscommunication trope but this is too good).

And then, in (E1), Aziraphale tells Crowley if he doesn't want to help him with Gabriel then he can leave. And Crowley asks if that's what he really wants, and Aziraphale immediately crumbles. Immediately, he admits "No, I would love you to help me!" I love how they both are communicating and yet not at the same time. Usually, in the miscommunication trope, this is where the person would lie and say something like 'yes, go ahead and leave, I don't need you'. But Aziraphale doesn't like. He admits he wants Crowley to help, to work on this together, to be a team. And it's lovely because it shows that the two are willing to communicate, they are putting in the effort, they just aren't connecting the way they want to because there's so much else going on, clouding their judgment. And they do the same song and dance in the last episode. They communicate what they want. They ask for what they want. But the problem with communication is that you can't just talk. You have to listen too. You have to try and understand the other side and where they're coming from. And I think the two of them have been on the defense for so long (ie. hiding their relationship, fighting Heaven and Hell, stopping the end of the literal freaking world) that they've forgotten how to let their guards down and actually make a good, honest effort to be understood.

After their bickering in (E1), Crowley storms out. He does the same at the end of (E6) too. The only difference between the two is that in (E1) he comes back and does the apology dance. He doesn't come back for Aziraphale at the end of (E6) though. He waits for him, but he doesn't chase, he doesn't apologize. He knows that he's not the one who has to do the apology dance this time, but he's willing to wait for it. And it's only when Aziraphale gets in the lift, it's only when he leaves first, that Crowley finally gets in his car and drives away. Because they've had fights before, but it's always been okay in the end because at least they're on the same page. Now, though, now they're starting to realize that they just might be reading from different books.

Blinding Light, Scorching Pyre

Based on the theories of Rollo being transferred to NRC and staying in Ramshackle (or in this case, Mugglesworth):

Why yes, I am posting character redemption arc ideas for Rollo one hour after posting my video of him being a pyromaniac.

I'm going to pretend that this event happens post-chapter 6 and not on Halloween for continuation reasons. Rollo transferring will also likely not happen, but it's fun to think about.

Minako was apprehensive about how the Dark Mirror shoved Rollo into her dorm, but she sucks it up and does her best to accommodate him. She has an inkling that Crowley will badger her into being a good dorm leader for her new student.

The students of NRC and the Nezumi family are outraged about this. Not only did their would-be murderer show up, he's lodging with their precious prefect?! Anything but that! Either get him out of their school or put him in another dorm.

Kento Nezumi was chaperoning with Trein during their excursion. He and Minako were under the assumption that Rollo had a crush on Malleus at the time. Unfortunately, he accidentally overheard that Rollo was not, in fact, crushing on Malleus but on his sister. (He's still throwing up about it.) After warning the rest of the family about this, they're all on guard and refuse to let Minako and Grim be alone at Mugglesworth. (For some external reason, they're not allowed to stay at Minako's dorm for too long. Maybe it's because they're not students of NRC.)

Brave souls, such as Riddle Rosehearts, offers to have Rollo transferred to his dorm. He may hate him with a burning passion, but at least there are more witnesses and robust students if Rollo tries anything like that flower incident at the symposium again. Minako is just one girl with a cat companion. The three ghosts can't do much to ward off Rollo either. Sure she can hold her own at times, but she has a curse that makes her frail. Rollo would end up baring witness as to why he hates magic so much.

This plot could diverge into a few ways, and I'm itching for Rollo character development:

Idea # 1

Because of Rollo's hatred of magic, Minako decides that perhaps the wizard life isn't for him. Through her dimension-travelling mirror, she takes him to her old neighbourhood Muggle London on her scooter to meet her Squib neighbour.

The old Squib is just the sweetest old lady alive, your typical grandma. She gives them tea and biscuits made with love. Rollo doesn't know when was the last time he felt this relaxed or indulged in anything or even slept peacefully. He could cry.

Idea # 2

My more fleshed out idea.

Perhaps living in Muggle London doesn't work out. A new dimension was something that Rollo could hardly fathom, so he's stuck in NRC in the meantime.

It takes a week or so for Minako and Rollo to even have a proper conversation since they became dorm mates. There is still a lingering infatuation that Rollo has for his dorm leader, but he keeps his feelings internal because he knows that he will never get the approval to court Minako from her family, and he realizes that she's no different from the other mages he's come across. He's hesitant to form a connection with her in any way.

Rollo tries to hate Minako, but fails. In spite of how cautious she is, she's actually willing to give him a chance compared to everyone else at this school.

Slowly but surely, they get used to each other's presence. Like Levi Ackerman lol, Rollo is a clean freak, which Minako appreciates, but he's a terrible cook. They both have green thumbs and the Mugglesworth garden is even more luscious and blooming with vegetables and flowers.

Rollo gets a front row seat to Minako's strange quirks, habits, and the chaos she brings, especially when it comes to taming scary magical beasts. Strangely enough those things don't detract his feelings for her, and he even develops a weakness to Minako's cuteness.

Based on a fan art I saw on Twitter, I headcanon that Rollo suffers from chronic nightmares similarly to Minako. Minako shares a few methods like her sleepy-time tea and writing in a dream journal. She offers her Patronus once, but Rollo refused. Maybe someday, he'll be okay with the Patronus.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but the Nezumi family curse probably pushes Rollo to consider dabbling in magic again to try and find a cure for it. Maybe. He's hesitant about it though and still considers using the flowers again so that Minako no longer burdened by her curse, but that plan gets shot down quickly when he learns that simply removing her magic cannot fix her condition. (Boy is going to stumble as he learns and grows).

I don't watch Demon Slayer aside from a few short out of context clips, but I feel like their dynamic would be similar to Lady Tamayo (Minako) and Yushiro's (Rollo) dynamic. Basically, Rollo becomes Sebek 2.0—although more stoic, he's still as much of a nuisance and a simp (I'm sorry Sebek. I love you, I swear).

Rollo is less expressive about his crush, but boy does he get defensive about Minako. The one time NRC is on his side is when he's telling Crowley off for dumping his responsibilities on his dorm leader. He and Grim almost always the first to aid her (rip Ace and Deuce) because they're familiar with her curse trigger patterns.

They almost act like a domestic couple raising a cat together, and it pisses everyone else off, Malleus and Adeuce duo especially. Minako is, as usual, oblivious to the kind of relationship they have now. Rollo–1, NRC–0.

Good Omens s2 thoughts!

I was expecting it to be really fanservicey based on the reviews going woooo it's so fanservicey! But ... it only felt fanservicey in that the fans really wanted to see Aziraphale and Crowley interact more, and so we got more episodes and they're the main feature.

Crowley's angelic hair killed me, what on EARTH was that.

Muriel's so cute, oh my god, they're so cute I love them so much they should have been in so much more of the show.

Is it just me or is the sound mixing/leveling really bad? I feel like I missed a lot of lines all over the place.

MAGGIE AND NINA! They work as A/C parallels both ways, don't they? Like, obviously Maggie is the Sunshiney One and Nina is the Grumpy One, but Maggie's also the one who stands up to the demons, and Nina's abusive relationship isn't far from Aziraphale's with Heaven.

I did think that setting the magic show stuff right after the Blitz shenanigans undercut the Blitz shenanigans. Also felt like Elspeth accepted her gf's death and the selling of her body pretty fast. need to rewatch that one.

But I loved that Crowley addressed the fact that Gabriel told Aziraphale to shut up and die - you want to talk fanservice, that's fanservice.

LOVED THE BALL! The seamstress conversation ... (There was also "C.M.O.T. Dibbler" on the laudanum bottle in The Resurrection Men.)

More actual fanservice: Gabriel and Beelzebub alliance/romance. I do find it kind of funny that "Everyday" is their song ... I was imagining Aziraphale trying to take steps toward liking modern music for Crowley by listening to dorky 1950s pop (/affectionate).

VERY obvious A/C parallel though, yikes, like it treads over the line from "cute" to "gratuitous". But it could just be that I never got into Gabriel/Beelzebub during the interim. But like ... there's a LOT of character development necessary to make me believe that someone as shitty as s1 Gabriel could fall in love with anyone at all let alone an opponent, and we didn't really get any of it.

It's also a bit weird to follow the acceptance of this frankly bizarre relationship with Maggie and Nina, who make a lot more sense and have more of an arc together, giving the "you can't just push us together, we need time" speech?

Whyyyyy would Aziraphale still be on the "Heaven is good" train after like the entire point of the first season being that he learns that choosing to be their own side >>>>>> working for Heaven?

(I have already come around on this jsyk. I absolutely buy that his takeaway from Notmageddon was that God meant for him and Crowley and Adam et al. to stop it, and that the real problem was that Michael, Gabriel et al. wanted it for their own messy reasons.)
