how you can use social media in a healthy way
set your intention:
what use do you want to make of social media?
which apps do you want to keep using and which not (or reduce their consumption)?
how much time are you spending on it? how much do you want to spend on it?
establishes limits of use:
you can activate or deactivate certain applications when you are no longer using them so that they do not distract you or add a time limit depending on how much time or how many days a week you want to use the app.
how to set the time of use?:
ios:
settings > usage time > limit app usage > add limit
you can also limit apps only in focus, work, do not disturb or whatever mode you have set.
settings > focus > the category in which you want to activate it > focus filters
android:
settings > well-being and parental controls > set time for your apps
pros and cons:
make a list of where social media is good for you and where it is bad for you. anything that is hurting you stop watching or following.
value your real time:
not having social media or having control over it brings you more in your life and personal growth. for example, how many of us have woken up and the first thing we have done was to look at instagram or another social network and that has made us lose time of our morning? instead you can do a short meditation or breathing to start the day off right, it also reduces stress and anxiety.
just think about how much you spend a week being stuck in social media and imagine what activities you could develop in that time.
other tips:
look for an activity you would like to try
socialize more with your friends
keep your cell phone away from you or in a “do not disturb” or “concentration” mode when you are engaged in an activity
spend more time in nature
uninstall or deactivate those apps that no longer benefit you, try it for a while.
don't take anything personally from what people may share there.
conclusions:
when you have a routine, things to do, you don't pay as much attention to being online all the time, so it's not such a hard task. i'm not saying stop using your phone but i'm writing this post for all those people who spend all day scrolling or really spend a lot of time watching tik tok or instagram, that's not healthy in the end.
of course you can still use social media but with knowledge and in a way that does not harm you or does not compromise your time too much. the most important thing is not to be glued to a phone watching what others do but enjoy your life.

Editing Your Novel Part 1: Before You Edit
New Year, new edits! Editing is a big task to tackle, no matter how you go about it. Chunking it into several parts gives you a much easier set of goals to meet, methods to track those goals, and ways to make an impossible project more manageable.
The First Rule of Editing: Love Your Draft.
If you hate everything you wrote, you are not ready to edit it yet. If you feel as if you'd rather drive off a cliff than reread the work you've just done, put that book away for a few more weeks. If you can't stand your work, you aren't going to be able to give it the care it deserves. That feeling will go away, trust me. You just need to give it some time to rest.
Pre-Editing Prep Steps:
Change the Format - Changing your font will help you see your wards in a new way and the most common tip is to use comic sans. You might resist this tip. You might refuse on the basis that it is a silly font meant for silly jokes. But just try it out and see if it works for you. You can always switch to Arial like a coward if you want.
Read it Out Loud - No, you don't have to listen to the sound of your own voice (though if you're a theater kid, they might be a great way to work out kinks in your dialogue). There's plenty of decent screen-readers out there that will help. NVDA Screen Reader is a free program anyone can use. Google TalkBack is pre-installed in most Android devices, and Microsoft Word has a feature called Read Aloud that will drive you crazy after awhile, but works.
Outline What You Have - If you wrote your first draft based on nothing but feels or had an outline that took a sharp left turn at Timbuktu, re-outlining what you're looking at can help you work out how to tackle your edit. Now, you don't have to go all out - I'm a big fan of using flashcards to track scenes. They're easy to swap out and update when you change things, and you can lay them out in any organization to get good overview of your plot.
Take some time to get organized, and check into the next post when we talk about the plot pass!

In light of the recent Nintendo boycotts, I come bearing a gift
I'll copy/paste a message I've been sharing in discord servers
If you like Nintendo games but hate the company, today's your lucky day
This is totally illegal and you absolutely shouldn't do it because its wrong, so I'm gonna tell you exactly what to do so that you guys know not to do it!
You guys absolutely should not download Azahar Nintendo 3DS emulator and then go onto Citra-emulator.com to find old Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS games and then open the games through Azahar for to play free, including Tomodachi life, ACNH, The Sims 3, Nintendogs + Cats and Flipnote Studio.
You really shouldn't do this stuff its its illegal but if you did it, it would totally work and no one could stop you. Also I work in tech and virus scanned random files and they all came up clean so its safe but its still illegal don't do it................. (But you totally could and no one would stop you)
The Citra emulator doesn't work because the dev got hit with a lawsuit. He went on to work on Azahar. They say not to do this for legal protection, but it fully works.
As far as I know, these games do not have piracy barriers EXCEPT Tomodachi Life (A large red cross over the character faces). I have a debug file that fixes this. If you guys come across another game that has a barrier let me know and I'll search for a debug
Tutorial
Use this link to download the emulator
https://azahar-emu.org/ scroll all the way up to "Download". Download the version that corresponds with your system (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android)
Tumblr media
And this link to download the game files
https://citra-emulator.com/ Scroll all the way up to "3DS ROMS". There is an incomplete but still extensive collection of games, both Japanese and English titles as well as Pokemon ROM hacks
Tumblr media
On Windows, place the game files on your desktop and open them. It will ask you what app you want to open the file with. Choose "Select app on PC", search for Azahar and select it then press "okay"
(I'm not 100% on the process for Linux and Mac but I'm sure they're similar. On Android I know for certain they are)
You'll know if it works because the game icons will switch from a paper file to the Azahar flower
Tumblr media
Once you see these flowers, you are all set and ready to play!
And here is the error fix for Tomodachi life. Download this file and open it like normal. It will ask you what app you wish to open it with. Open it with Azahar.
Don't panic! A lowkey scary looking dialogue box will pop up for a moment and text will very quickly load onto it. This is Azahar reading the file and saving the commands. It will very quickly close itself. Once that window closes itself, you're all set to open Tomodachi Life and play like normal!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_BQfoGycmpaaOvBEm29LU1FKqy7cgG6j/view?usp=drive_link
(This is an upload from my own personal google drive account. I pinkie promise there's no virus on this. and if there is you have full permission to yell at me and put me on blast)
and that's everything I got! Feel free to reblog with other sites or tips you have! <3 Have fun lovelies!

hey just a few points since this place is growing:
if you see bots account under my posts (or anyone's for that matter), do not interact. There's a few kinds like porn bots (most often), donation bots and rage bait bots, don't reply don't message them. BLOCK and report.
if you're new here to Tumblr, welcome! Change the default icon to literally anything else, put your age in your bio, something like "adult" or "minor" is enough if you're not comfortable in putting your age number. Also, reblog at least one or two things into your blog as a start, tumblr is meant to use to reblog things, you can read more why here.
A lot of blog here has mdni (minors do not interact), that's why the previous point is highly recommended. If you interact with a blank account you're very likely going to get block by the author.
"I followed some blogs, but why am I seeing posts that are a few days ago and not the newest thing?" change what you want to see on your feed in the settings, read more here.
The tumblr faq site has some cool tips to read.
Want to see mature content? you can enable “Show mature content” in your account settings, but this is only available on the web and android app.
Use tags! AND USE THEM APPROPRIATELY! If your post shows 2 characters, then tag those characters, you can learn how to tag by seeing other artist/blog's posts and use similar ones. Do not tag a "popular" tag for the sake of getting higher engagement, you do that and you might get blocked by others.
You can also make your own tags so you can easily find back your posts on your blog (example, I use "gummmyart" for all my art content, it also serves as a filter for others if they're just here for doodles")
Want to find back something you made but it's way too long ago? You can try to find it through "View Archive" which catalogues the things you reblogged and made, as long as you remember which tag you used and the month you'll be able to find it back, most of the time (sometimes they might not show up...idk why tho)
Tumblr media
Fun fact! If you're on mobile, long press the heart icon :3
Use the "read more"/"keep reading" if you have a long post! It's the last icon after the poll icon whenever you make a new post. This make sure when someone reblog your post, they don't have to scroll like 4 minutes to go to another post xD You can adjust where to put the "read more" options by clicking on the left of the line with the 4 dots icon.

Here are some practical tips to reduce the negative effects of screen use before bed and protect your sleep:
1. Use a Blue Light Filter
• Enable “Night Shift” (iOS) or “Night Light” (Android/Windows) to reduce blue light exposure.
• You can also install apps like f.lux for computers.
• Bonus: Consider blue light blocking glasses if you must use screens late.
2. Set a Screen Curfew
• Stop using screens at least 30–60 minutes before bed.
• Use this time for reading (on paper), light stretching, or journaling.
3. Switch to Dark Mode
• Use dark mode or reading mode in apps at night.
• It’s easier on your eyes and reduces the stimulating effect of bright light.
4. Dim the Lights
• Use warm, low-intensity lighting in your bedroom during the evening.
• Avoid overhead lights; opt for lamps or smart bulbs set to warm tones.
5. Create a Wind-Down Routine
• Aim for a consistent pre-sleep ritual: warm shower, meditation, calming music, or light yoga.
• This helps your body associate specific cues with sleep.
6. Keep Phones Out of Bed
• Charge your phone outside your bedroom if possible, or far from your bed.
• Use an alarm clock instead of relying on your phone.

Got any tips in shading stuff in black and white digitally?
Hi Anon!
You're in luck! I'm currently wrapping up a book which is shaded digitally, so I've been thinking a lot about this recently.
How I do this is by no means the only way, so take from these tips as much or little as you want! When I add grays and shadows to a line art drawing, I try to think about these things:
Preparing the image
I like to work with a file that has a white background and a layer with only line art on top of it. Between these two layers I add new layers where I use the pen tool and bucket to fill areas with black, then I lower the opacity for that layer to get a value that I want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This method works well for me, and for simpler pieces I don't need more than 3 layers with different values - light, medium and dark grays.
I work in Clip Studio. Here's a picture of the layers of a recent drawing. Each layer is actually completely black but you can see the opacity percentages by each layer. Lower percentage -> brighter value. This makes it super duper easy to change the value of a layer, no need to repaint it, just change the opacity!
Tumblr media
Value composition
For the best result, do a couple of value sketches with a limited set of values and find something that works well for the image. Getting the values right is what will improve the image the most! Here's a quick tutorial on muddycolors. Muddy Colors is a very nice art blog to check out. Looking at grayscale storyboard drawings or value sketches are great ways to pick up on this too.
I try to group values when working with grays. Take this image for example:
Tumblr media
The character in the foreground has mainly dark grays, which separates her from the background, which has mostly light grays. Then the windows are white and the roof black.
Value composition is a huge and complex area and I recommend anyone wanting to learn to be more conscious about their values and to do value sketches. Analysing art you think has good values is great too.
Shadows
Not every piece needs shadows, but they can add a lot to an image! I use three kinds of shadows when I work in grayscale.
Inked shadows - these shadows are added during the inking stage and usually show areas where light would have almost no way of getting there, such as under this tent.
Tumblr media
Gradient shadows - these shadows usually represent something getting further and further away from a light source or an area that would bounce light. This tree receives a tiny bit of light from a campfire on the ground and moonlight that bounces on the ground and up, fading as we get higher up in the tree. But mainly I add these gradients in ways that look cool and will help the overall composition.
Tumblr media
Hard shadows - these shadows appear when a strong light casts shadows and can be used on a shape or to cover something. Here's a werewolf with shadows on its back, which gives it a better sense of mass and is interesting visually!
Tumblr media
You can also cover an area in shadow like this, where the tree casts a shadow down on the archer and the cliff.
Tumblr media
Texture
I like to add a layer of noise as a finishing touch. In Clip Studio you can create a noise layer with Filter->Render->Perlin noise... Find a balance of scale and amplitude that works for the image, then change the layer mode to "Vivid Light" and lower the opacity of the layer to around 30%. I like how this looks, it's not super visible usually but helps make the drawing feel less artificial and digital.
Tumblr media
I hope that helps! Here are some nice links too:

Happy drawing!

Thoughts on Generative A.I.
Not only does Generative A.I. plagiarize human work, and not only does it consume energy at unsustainable levels (lowering the quality of human lives, even if all that energy came from non-fossil fuels), but the way it's advertised to the general public (via Grammarly™, Windows Co-Pilot™, and others) spreads the idea that learning new skills is too difficult to even try, and completely joyless, to boot.
It's that last element that tips it from being bad to truly evil. A.I. bots won't ever reach a Singularity, and enslave Mankind, like in the sci-fi dystopias.
But the mega-corporations are trying to convince us that human imagination is without any value. And if we surrender our imaginations, we will surrender our freedom—not to emotionless androids, but ordinary, mundane, tyrants.
What A.I. is good for: Finding tumors in medical screenings too small for human eyes to detect, and finding planets around individual stars in distant galaxies. In other words: counting and sorting super-massive numbers in short lengths of time (what computers have always been best at).
What A.I. is bad for: Predicting who will commit a crime before any crime has been committed, and setting bail, being a friend to the lonely, making music, writing a letter (even a form letter for business), and anything else where an actual human means to connect to another human.

hello! Bit of a random request here but if you’re open to Connor requests would you be ok doing one about how he would be with a s/o (established relationship) if they’d been out the night before maybe for a friends party and had a horrible hangover the next day? 😂 like how he might take care of them and stuff?
Lazy Days - Connor x Reader
Tumblr media
Here you go! We love a caring Connor :3 I have received your requests, just juggling them and work atm so they should be out soon hopefully! Hope you enjoy <3
"Connor, ___ is wasted. I think - hic - think you should get them home." Gavin spoke, his words slurred and stumbling over themselves. He slung his head back as he downed the rest of the sleazy canned beer.
"I agree, perhaps they’ll be docile enough now to listen to reason and come home." Connor replied, watching as you tried not to fall asleep at the table, a can of drink tipped between your fingers as it had slipped from your grasp.
He'd tried to get you to leave earlier, however you were set on beating Gavin at beer chugging. Gavin had come out on top of course, being the drunken ass he was. Yet another thing he'd have to hold over your head and tease you about at work.
"C'mon, I'll help ya out-" Gavin started, only for Connor to guide him onto a nearby couch. Normally Gavin would deck the android just for touching him, however the alcohol had made Gavin unsettlingly friendly.
"You are far too inebriated to help; I can handle it from here, detective." Connor insisted, lifting you up and resting the majority of your weight against his side.
"Connor, baby, I'm fiiiiiine!" You started, only to be cut off as Connor started walking towards the door. "You're a - hic - party pooper." you groaned as you booped the android on the nose, your finger slipping down and poking him in the mouth. You drunkenly waved a strained goodbye to Gavin before Connor led you stumbling out to the car, passing out as soon as you fell against the backseat.
As soon as Connor had you in the door, he swept you up and carried you towards the bedroom, laying you down and removing the uncomfortable outfit you'd chosen for yourself. He replaced the dirty clothes with one of his t-shirts and some shorts before making his way out to the kitchen to fetch you a glass of water.
Upon returning, he found you passed out face-down on the bed. Sighing and shaking his head, Connor climbed into bed and pulled you against his chest, stroking your hair as he laid awake watching over you.
"Connor..." you groaned, shielding yourself with the blankets as blinding rays of sunshine invaded the room. You heard him snicker at your unwillingness to wake up, the bed sinking with his weight as he sat down behind you, his legs crossed in a child-like fashion.
"It's almost midday ___, you should get out of bed." Connor advised, poking your back gently. He was met with a grunt in response, the bedsheets shrugging away from his touch.
Hesitantly, he gripped the edge of the covers and pulled them away from your face, greeted by your squinting - but displeased - eyes. You glared at him as he reached out a hand, taken by surprise when he poked you on the nose.
"Boop."
"What the fuck, Connor?" you giggled, sour demeanour quickly evaporating as you sat up. You were about to poke him back, only for a sharp pain to erupt in the side of your temple.
Your head thumped with an otherworldly pain, pressure growing against either side of your ears making them grow hot. Your world spun as the sudden urge to vomit rose in your throat.
"Shit, Connor I-" you shot out of bed, racing for the bathroom as quickly as your feet could carry you, making it just in time to hurl into the porcelain bowl.
Shuddering from the sudden wave of cold that washed over you, your fingers gripped against the toilet as you continued throwing up. Tears blurred your vision as your heart raced, only to be subdued by a calming hand against your back.
Connor gathered your hair up into a make-shift ponytail in his hand as he rubbed your back with the other. His presence made this unpleasant ordeal slightly more bearable, finding yourself sinking backwards into his embrace as the remains of last nights drinks left your stomach.
"That's it, you're okay now." Connor soothed, continuing to rub up and down your back. He allowed you a moment to recover before lifting you into his arms and carrying you to the bathtub, carefully laying you down in it and undressing you.
You sighed as hot water poured into the tub, lapping welcomingly against your aching body. Reaching out for Connor, your fingers grasped pathetically at the sleeve of his shirt in an attempt to drag him into the tub with you.
He smirked at your attempt, pressing a kiss to your forehead as he whispered for you to be patient before walking out and returning with a clean set of clothes and some towels.
Connor sat down beside the bath, pressing a warm washcloth against your forehead as he cleaned your face of any remaining vomit. You couldn't help but stare adoringly at Connor as he tended to you, how his eyes narrowed in concentration as he cleaned you up, the crinkle of his brow as he scanned you for any other needs. That single, stubborn strand of hair that fell between his eyes that you found absolutely perfect.
He was beautiful.
"___? What are you staring at?" the android asked, tilting his head in wonder. A soft smile crept along your lips as you replied, caressing a hand against his cheek.
"You, Connor. You're gorgeous, in every way." You caught the twinkle in his eye as surprise overwhelmed him. For a moment Connor was speechless, his LED spinning in amber circles as he tried to think of a response. Instead, he found the most fitting thing to do was to kiss you; his soft lips pressed against your own, chapped and dry as a hand crept up to cradle the back of your head, fingers curling into your tangled hair.
"Come on, let's get you dry and into bed." Connor spoke, breaking the kiss before it got too heated. You whined as he pulled away, the sudden lack of his touch leaving an empty void behind. The android helped you up and wrapped a towel around you, allowing you to dry yourself before handing you a set of clean pyjamas. Your eyes lit up as you realised today was definitely going to be a lazy day.
Nestled up against Connor, you laid in bed flicking through channels on the tv. He'd brewed you a cup of warm herbal tea to aid your headache and subdue the nausea. His hand sat against your waist, fingers running lazily up and down your hip.
His heat radiated across your entire body, warming you from your chest to your toes. On cold days like this, you wanted nothing more than to spend all day in bed with your favourite android.
"Connor?" you asked, looking up at him. He hummed in response, returning your leaning gaze as he looked down at you - his brow was quirked in curiosity.
"Never let me try to out-drink Gav again." Connor chuckled, pulling you closer against him and pressing a gentle kiss against your lips.
"Of course, love."

studying methods ˖ ⊹ ࣪ ౨ৎ˚
"the kpop method"
You're going to pretend that your school is a kpop company, and each class represents a different kpop group, and each student is a member of that group. The best student in each class is the most biased member, and the worst student is the least biased member. work until you are the most biased member. By working hard and putting in your effort, you can become the most biased member of your class and achieve your academic goals.
BONUS - If you want to become the best version of yourself while still using the kpop method, i have a little tip for you! You're going to make a list of requirements for yourself, this can include how you want to dress, how you want to act, make a routine for yourself, etc. Then you can pretend it's your "company" telling these things, as if you were a real kpop idol ˖ ᡣ𐭩 ⊹ ࣪
(this method is not mine, credits to the original owner of this method)
" The Rory Gilmore method"
this method is not very complex, but it has a lot of steps.
1. create a schedule - Rory is well-known for her strict schedule and commitment to sticking to it. To study like Rory, you should first make a timetable outlining your study time, your reading time, and free time. Include breaks in your schedule and try to follow it as much as you can.
2. lots of reading - Rory is an avid reader who always carries a book with her. Pick books that interest you and make reading a daily habit ( i recommend reading before bed because it helps me to calm down and helps me with falling asleep). Reading books will help you develop your vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
3. Take notes - Rory is well-known for her detailed notes and ability to retain new information. Take notes in class and annotate your books. Make your notes more structured by using highlithers and different colors, and review them daily. (goodnotes - ios, notion - ios and android are great for digital notes)
4. Make use of flashcards - Rory memorises stuff through flashcards. Flashcards can be used for vocabulary terms, key concepts, and other relevant information. Use them to test yourself and review regularly.
5. Define your goals - Rory has a set goal, what are you working for? Make a vision board, write down your goals, visualize. This will help you stay motivated and not loose focus!
6. stay organized - Rory is well-organized, and her study space is always neat and tidy. Keep your study area nice and free from distractions. Use folders, binders, and other tools to keep your notes and supplies organized, make sure your work space is clean and clutter-free.
7. seek help when needed - Rory is not afraid to ask for help when she needs it. Don't hesitate to ask for help from your teachers, tutors, or classmates if you need it. To enhance your learning, ask questions, and seek out extra resources such as textbooks, youtube videos, and study guides.
8. atmosphere - Don't forget to make the atmosphere cozy, light a candle, prepare yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and wear a comfy sweater. Create an environment in which you can stay focused for hours! ˖ ᡣ𐭩 ⊹ ࣪

CRITICAL WARNING!!!! Radio talk show hostess, Kim Komando, did some digging about TEMU and this is what she found!
Seemingly overnight, everyone’s talking about Temu (pronounced “tee-moo”), an online shopping app that boasts deals that seem too good to be true, like $17 wireless earbuds, $1 “gold” necklaces and $23 wedding dresses.
Over 50 million Americans have downloaded Temu since it launched state-side in September 2022, after it gained traction with expensive Super Bowl ads promising to let you “shop like a billionaire.”
Today, Temu is the most popular shopping app in the U.S. behind Amazon. But most of us don’t know much about the app’s true origins. Reader Daniel Mayer asked an important question, “Is [Temu] something we should be concerned about?”
So, I did some digging. And as it turns out, yes, you absolutely should be. Here’s what I found:
Where did Temu come from?
This isn’t some fly-by-night operation. Temu is based in Boston, Massachusetts, by PDD Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: PDD). PDD is headquartered in Shanghai, China.
PDD also owns the e-commerce platform Pinduoduo headquartered in — you guessed it — China. So, Temu is a Communist China-based app and site.
What you need to know before using Temu
First, you’re buying goods directly from manufacturers in China and other parts of the world. That’s why shipping times are often 12 days or longer. The prices are low because the goods are cheap. The pictures of what you see advertised may not be what you actually get.
Temu’s BBB rating is 2.21/5. Reviews at TrustPilot are interesting, with 38% 5-star reviews and 41% 1-star reviews.
But that’s not the worst of it.
Temu is downright dangerous.
The app is a clever, pervasive digital stalker. As you shop, Temu monitors your activity on other apps, tracks your notifications and location and changes settings.
🛑 It gets worse. Temu gains full access to all your contacts, calendars and photo albums, plus all your social media accounts, chats and texts. In other words, literally everything on your phone. This is scary
No shopping app needs this much control, especially one tied to Communist China. If you’re using Temu, delete the app from your phone ASAP.
On iPhone, Long-press an app, then tap Remove App > Delete App. Tap Delete to confirm.
On Android, touch and hold an app, then tap Remove App > Delete App > Delete.
Pro tip: If you downloaded Temu, to be safe from Chinese spies, you really need to do a full factory reset.
But wait, there’s more! Temu’s sister app was removed from Google Play because of malware.
Do not buy from this company, or use their app!
COPY AND PASTE PLEASE
