Some folks would prefer that I keep politics OUT of my comic strip, but... uh... it's a comic about my life as a transgender woman, and it's KINDA hard to not be a smidge political when one party keeps pushing and passing laws that make it a crime for me to exist.  So, sorry if you feel this is unfair, but it feels pretty frickin' unfair to be labeled a literal criminal for existing.

What’s even going on right now.. Twitter, Snapchat, and Microsoft announced their support for KOSA. I don’t think yall are actually conceptualizing how BAD this bill is. If this bill is put in motion, this would mean that every single user of the internet would be required to upload a photo of their ID’s, yes, your ID. This would also mean that our state attorney generals would have the choice to decide which content is “inappropriate”. Now, this is harmful to three things. The first being sex workers because some people literally have to rely on that to pay bills, buy food and clothes, etc.

The second one being that you may not be access to information about major world issues. We all know that anything that is Pro-Palestinian is labeled as “anti-semitic”, and they will probably take this information down aswell. This could also (probably) apply for issues in the DRC, Sudan, Tigray, etc. All around, this is harmful to every group of people on the internet.

The third thing, as I’ve stated previously, this is harmful to LGBTQIA+ youth. If you want a more in depth explanation, then you can check my linked post on it. But basically, this bill would prevent them from learning more about their identities.

A video posted on tiktok (click here!) can give you, pretty much the same information. There are also ways to stop the bill from passing within the video aswell. Please look into reaching out to your representatives to stop this bill from passing.

🚨VERY IMPORTANT KOSA UPDATE🚨

After Tuesday's Judiciary hearing, Blumenthal and Hawley promised to try their best to bring KOSA to the floor. Cantwell has promised to sneak KOSA to the floor on a voice vote, like with what Hawley tried with the Restrict Act this past spring if you remember. We just need ONE senator to speak out. So right now, DON'T PANIC, SPEAK OUT.

heard something about kosa being pushed back until march or whatever? all honesty, not really sure how that works or how true that is. anyway, what i have to say is that even if it has, PLEASE do not shut up about it. please keep talking about it. please keep calling your representatives. please keep signing petitions. we cannot let this bill pass. content relating to palestine/the lgbtqia+/mental health/etc. will be censored. it is incredibly dangerous. we need to keep speaking out against it.

Congress is back in session now that the Spending bills got passed. So make sure to look out for KOSA. Not sure if it's on the market yet but call your Senators and Representatives and everyone you can think of.

Go to Badinternetbills.com and you can sign the petition and call your reps from there. Also if you can fax or look up fax zero you can send free faxes. To your Representatives tomorrow. Go to EFF.org

Volunteer for Internet Freedom Organizations if you feel you have to.

This is serious. And please follow @omarsbigsister on TikTok and she has been speaking about this the most and helped bring the most light to KOSA. Also email the Trevor Project and GLAAD about their support of KOSA and make them denounce their support of KOSA as those bills harm queer kids. Tomorrow morning. Remember KOSA could destroy AO3. KOSA could destroy fandom spaces on social media. Imagine some company just has a knack for abusing copyright law and decides to censor all the fanfic you live so much because they bribed a state local and now all your Destiel fics aren't available in your state? That could be a reality with KOSA. Also let your Representatives know about the positive impacts social media has had on you use hashtag social media save my life on some of your posts. I know y'all got this. Let's go
