I absolutely love your fics about Five! And it's kinda interesting how many people write smut about him. Always aged up of course, I don't feel attracted to kids. 💀 Sadly many other Five fans accuse others, happened to a friend on twitter with big accounts just for thinking Five looks cool in S4, especially when you're over 20 people will call you weird. So I'm glad that there are writers like you. I like tumblr way better than twitter anyway.

So, I have a lot of feelings on this. I understand the instinctive mistrust of those who are attracted to Five and I've done a great deal of personal soul searching and I think it's an issue with a lot of nuance. Twitter is not a good platform for delivering nuance. It's easier to be dogmatic over there. Though I'm exclusively attracted to men and don't really identify with the term, I think the idea expressed by demisexuality describes the way I feel sexual attraction well: a lot of how I experience it is based on mannerism, demeanour and personality. However, there is definitely a tipping point with regards to looks. With Five, there is a real solid line for me: in seasons one and two, I love Five's personality just as much but do not at all find him remotely attractive. He's convincingly a 58 year old man but he looks like a kid and, at the end of the day, I'm just not a nonce. Then, in season 3, he looks like a young adult and as soon as he put on that suit I was suddenly extremely interested. Just couldn't look away any time he was in shot. At first, I thought I just really liked the suit on him. But then I started noticing the way he angles his jaw, puts his hands in his pockets and his smug smiles and I knew I was in trouble.

Looking back, I had a thing for the version portrayed by Sean Sullivan the first time I watched season 2 but I didn't realise it at the time. I honestly think I just have daddy issues. I know a fair number of Five smut writers and they all seem to have similar feelings on it. We're also a similar age and gender demographic from what I understand. It's strange, but there ya go.

that's great buddy but don't go around thinking you're immune to this. if you're not looking for plagiarism, you likely won't notice it unless its egregiously obvious. hell, you've probably consumed plagiarized content without even realizing it. even hbomb pointed out that these people disguised what they presented pretty well as long as you didn't try and dig deeper. don't come away just thinking of this as a callout piece, take this as an important lesson about vetting your sources. if googling scripts in quotes was enough to expose the original, we should all start doing that shit!!

please be so, so careful taking advice from these people online, as many of them are not formally trained or educated, brand ambassadors, deep in pseudoscientific rabbit holes and unfortunately, there are many out there who struggle with disordered eating habits

(not mentioned here but another one worth noting: i have personally known people who have burned their oesophagus with viral apple cider vinegar shots and drinks. don’t do that. a burned oesophagus is not fun)

OK...so I said I would be on request hiatus for six weeks or so to work on some longer term projects.

I lied, but I can assure you that I'm alive and do intend to return.

What the fuck's taking so long?

Well. I started off with two ideas:

A dark songfic about Five's relationship with Dolores to Elvis Costello's She.

A companion piece to The Moth and the Spider with the Handler as the centre of consciousness.

And then Hard Feelings Part 6 happened.

Everything else got put on hold and I forgot how fucking long it takes to write this shit. I forgot about the drafting, redrafting and the scrapping everything and starting again. I forgot about the days when you'd rather do anything than write. I forgot about the days you spend on plotting, theming etc.

I am >20k words in and I honestly can't give you a projection on how long it will take.

I know this kinda sucks for you if you enjoy my oneshots and not my main series, but unfortunately, I have to go where the muse takes me 💃

For the three people interested, however, here's a slight teaser.

It will be set roughly two years after Arrow of Time.

It centres around Santi returning to the Hargreeves Manor after five years in a research lab trying and failing to replicate his healing powers for medical science. He's in a dark place as a result.

Meanwhile Five and Luther have a tough decision to make as their fledgling Umbrella Foundation begins to attract media attention.

Aoife meets a boooyyyy and Five tries super hard to be normal about it.

The hotel they were staying at kicked them out not caring if they had a place to stay or not, only caring that the source of money had left.

Jazz couldn't show how scared she actually was, not when Danny was looking at her with complete faith that she could somehow fix this.

How he managed to keep that faith after a day of jumping at shadows like they held enemies and vending machine food for lunch was a mystery.

She's tired, she's stressed, and she needs an adult.

Like an actual adult and not her much loved but very scatterbrained parents, Vlad did not count either.

If you need to log off for the day, whether it's to take irl action or to protect what little sanity any of us have left over the past 7 years, then by all means, do.

Morale is important. Hope is important. Small joys keep us from burning out completely in times like this. Do not let any "if you don't reblog this I'm judging you" guilt trip convince you otherwise.
