Is anyone else really disturbed by Breakdown’s end? Like I can’t watch anything zombie adjacent now because of that shit. Like? I respect the hardcore aspect, and it was a deliciously ironic end that, in my opinion, emphasized that no one was a bad/good guy while humanizing the cons. But, mercy on my soul, I STILL can't watch that episode without going into a panic attack.

Doesn’t help that during my first viewing I was young enough that the whole death/torture/desecration concept hadn’t quite hit my little noggin… or the fact that I accidentally skipped a few REALLY important episodes. So I went from “BD is a little banged up, but he’s fine, he’s with his bestie KO” (because child me Sucked at subtexts) to “Why is Breaks strapped down to a table? … why are they looking at him like that? … why is Knocky smiling like that? WAIT- why is he asking Screamy for help? Why is- WHAT THE FICKETY, WHY IS HE VIBRATING AND LOOKING LIKE THIS AND MAKING THAT SOUND?” And noped right out of there as soon as the exorcism vibes kicked in.

Also did not help that this was late at night, I was by myself, and my parents were under the assumption I was sleeping.

I did not, in fact, sleep that night.

I love TFP, I’m still in the fandom, and I’ve done everything but watch the Human Factor and that nightmare of an episode. I've read the scripts, seen reactions, individual clips, literally EVERYTHING but actually sit down and watch it. I tried once, in full daylight, but I had such a visceral reaction that I couldn’t make it past the title card.

I’m not a squeamish person, I’ve seen actual horror movies (more slasher-oriented but the Alien franchise can get me anytime), crime shows, and my major, by default, exposed me to some pretty gnarly stuff for educational purposes.

BTW our bodies are amazingly wonderful things, but please take care of yourselves! Hydrate, take a stretch, take a deep breath.

I’m not squeamish, but that whole thing has made me incredibly sensitive to just this horribly specific vibe of horror. The desecration, sadistic torture, and self-righteous hubris. It makes my skin crawl and I have to physically leave the room. Reading Frankenstein for my English class was a pain until I could figure out a way to mentally compartmentalize it.

My rage at the Doctor may have been slightly biased as a result.

Does anyone else have this? Where a source of childhood comfort also contains one of the foundational pieces that formed your fears?

Thinking about how, out of all the betrayer gods, Asmodeus is perhaps the most incapable of changing. Of redemption. Of becoming better.

Because at least the others are honest. Honest about who they are. Honest about their love for their siblings. They know exactly what they are and what they are here to do, even if it is for ill. And that means they can be worked around. Can be changed.

Asmodeus, however, cannot do this. He is the god of lies. Even his truths are rotten. He cannot be honest. Not with others, not even with himself.

Do you think he knows what he even wants? He says he wants eternity to torment his siblings yet tries to kill them. He tries to kill them, yet (whether he realizes it or not) gives them just enough time to stop him. They are gods, after all. One round is all they need.

He says he hates his siblings yet told trist he loved her when in disguise. He didn't need to do that, she was already going to leave. It's the truth, but rotten.

You cannot change, you cannot become better, if you are not honest with yourself. And Asmodeus is the most dishonest of them all. It's no wonder he is always banished by the light of Pelor's truth. He cannot face it, so he runs and hides and lies.

Always burning, always lying, always turning away from the light. Never changing, never growing, never moving on from past hurts. Lashing out at those who try to help, a dagger in the side of his family.

It would be better to remove him. Kinder, for all of them. But he is their brother, eternal, and they cannot lose him. They will keep him, even if he kills them. And he will keep lying, stabbing, burning, because it is all he knows how to do.

Bruce is very much not happy. He’s stuck in an absolutely tiny body, with hands that can barely grip onto anything. Not to mention he’s somewhere completely unfamiliar with way too much sun and his body, what, maybe a year? He can barely even stand. 

Ugh. Next time he’s definitely not jumping between his teammates and an unknown energy beam-thing. 

Now if he could not wobble and trip over what was his outfit but now seems to be a way too big cloak or cape, that would be great. Actually it might be his gear just well, only his cape. First thing is first, finding out where- or even when- the heck he is. 

Danny is honestly blaming Clockwork for everything when he spots a baby that could pass as his baby brother. And he knows he doesn’t have any more clones, seeing as he cleaned out Vlad’s lab himself. So. There’s apparently a tiny very liminal-feeling baby crawling around in what is practically a war zone thanks to the GIW. 

So he could be forgiven for picking the tiny child up as he runs, because if the GIW does another attack or bombing… Yeah, he’d rather the literal infant be in one of the safe zones protected by altered ecto shields, even if there was no clue as to where they came from.

Ghost Cora AU where he’s actually been following Law around ever since he died but nobody has been able to see him, so all he’s able to do is watch Law get hurt and suffer in silence. UNTIL, miraculously, the battle of Dressrosa ends, and for some strange reason—through some supernatural bullshit or maybe just fate—one person is finally able to see him.

Law is sitting on the deck of the Yonta Maria watching everyone party when Luffy comes trotting over to him. And Luffy plops down beside him and says, “I’ve been meaning to ask, Torao, but who’s that really tall blonde guy with the funny makeup that’s been following you around?”

i know we've all made 8 million posts about this but like. they really took a character that sacrificed his own happiness multiple times, was suicidal for years, placed everyone's needs before his own and canonically wanted to retire, settle down and just live a normal little life but believed he could never have it......and they killed him in the end. a character that people saw so much of themselves in. a character that people loved so deeply for 15 years.....and they killed him and proved him right. what the actual fuck.
