hi! thank you for the tournament, it's been great fun! I'm a little in awe of the difference between brett and mifune at the moment. it got me thinking - the main top hat pic definitely didn't win me over, it was the propaganda pic of him with the skull (he's so beautiful there).

obv it's on each voter to check out supplementary propaganda, but for the ladies' battle, what do you think of switching to a different main picture between rounds? I assume it's extra work, but could give a more varied look into the actors at a quick glance!

Absolutely not. As I've said many, many times before, I only change polls pics if (1) I see complaints about the pic and—crucially—(2) those complaints include other pics I can use instead. Asking me to predict what every person who sees these polls will find hot and source and change poll pics accordingly is insane. Some people will think a hottie is at his best playing Hamlet—others will think it's him in eyeliner and rouge camping it up—others will think it's him flexing and bare-chested. Changing up poll pics for every round in the hot women's poll when I have over 400 contestants to start with, plus additional propaganda under the cuts, is a huge, huge ask. If people can't be bothered to click the "read more" beneath the polls to see the hotties in different lights, contexts, and costumes, they will not be bothered to go through past polls to see different header photos.

This is my Mama.

Backstory:

You may remember that a while go I knitted myself a funky cardigan to go with my fabulously sunshiny @lucyandyak dungarees (pics for evidence) using gorgeous James C Brett Marble Chunky, bought from my LYS @awoolshoplowestoft whose lovely curator Anna calls it "Autumn in a ball". Knitting it, I held it with mohair which has made it super soft and snuggly, and muted the colours beautifully.

So, I wore it to visit my parents. And my Mum coveted it. I promised to make her one. Trouble is... she can't wear natural fibres other than cotton, and holding cotton with it was never going to work. I managed to source some brushed acrylic in a sumptuous buttery yellow and TA-DAH!

I am SO pleased with the fit. Mum has impossibly (elegant, obvs) long arms, and loves a good pocket, and here you can see the sleeves are very generous and her hands buried.

I am a relieved and happy knitter.

And I keep promising the pattern but life has been getting in the way. It's in the works!

okay so here’s the j/h stuff ya’ll have been asking about. disclaimer beforehand because some people are weird about this stuff: if you don’t believe what’s said in the post, you don’t have to interact, you don’t have to interact if you don’t like it, you don’t have to attack me for putting it all in one place because people kept asking about it and people on twitter were being gatekeepy about it. i am quite literally just the messenger. anyway, it’s under a read more and UNTAGGED and does not mention them by full name for a r e a s o n.

with that being said

last week hannah’s bd deleted his facebook profile picture that was a photo of them and changed it to just his little facebook avatar. this is only relevant because people will be like ‘isn’t she with her ex again’. changing the profile picture is one thing, because people in this fandom have proven time and time again to be fucking weird and have a lack of boundaries, but deleting it? that’s a whole different conversation.

so what we know for a fact is that jason got into LA saturday night and Hannah got in late Sunday morning, early afternoon. we also know that they were the only people in the cast aside from juno staying at a specific hotel while everybody else (sarah, brett, jeremy, and all of the boys) stayed at a completely different one. we know this becuse hannah got ready at this hotel last year and her glam squad posted photos of her outside of it as she was getting ready to leave, we know jason was also staying there because people met him as he was leaving and he signed + took pics with them.

anyway, apparently when hannah got to the hotel on sunday, jason was having brunch (im assuming with the guys who were already there) and he left brunch and went back to the hotel, what for? who knows. it’s just funny that he went back there after knowing that she had gotten there.

now, we all watched that weird little moment between them at the emmys when they won comedy series, i don’t know what the fuck that was about, but it obvs had to be a mix of them thinking they were going to lose to abbott elementary and that being awkward as hell vs whatever the hell else was going on there.

obviously we saw the photos of them leaving arm-in-arm after the ceremony, which is just really funny considering the weird moment earlier where it looked like they didn’t know how to interact with one another.

so they left, did post show press and then went to the after parties, where apparently they were together all night to the point that they left together around 2am, when everyone else allegedly stayed out until 4-5am sans for juno who might’ve gone back around the same time since she and her bf were staying at the hotel. then on tuesday night someone saw them having dinner alone just the two of them lol

and that’s what ya’ll missed in the ted lasso fandom.

• okay so first ones not really a headcannon but more just a detail that I feel like im the only one that remembers: brett plays guitar!!!!!!! maybe it was just my guitarist brain but I seen this in like the first episode and never forgot. he definitely will randomly pull out his guitar (like full on david cc style) and start playing like in the middle of like a meeting or some dumb shit. he probably plays down at like at some local Cafe or something on the weekends. all 80s too obviously

• brett loving the 80s definitely resulted in a lot of different more 80s ish themed hobbies/interest. Bowling, arcade games, roller skating yk shit like that

• he most definitely can break dance? obvs.

• i feel like music wise it would be a mix of 80s obvs but also like early 2000s since that around when he grew up. I honestly feel like it would also be really similar to patrick batemans music taste 💀 but definitely a lot of Whitney Houstin, Huey Lewis, Talking Heads, but also some Madona, Dave Matthew's (which was already mentioned in the show), Death Cab, The postal service, Lumineers, and Vance joy. I also get am receiving a very large Bee Gees presence in him.

• he definitely overthinks his suits a lot. he will put his all into perfectly selecting a suit and making sure everything about it is on point. it was definitely an anxiety thing that just turned into a habit over time

• speaking of the anxiety, he has a lot of shows—some obvious some not. For once the leg bouncing is definitely a thing; that's a given. But also counting, like literally anything, he will just count. and that finger digging thing?? you basically and kinda just like digging your thumb nail into your fingers??? I do it a lot and it's not like a sh thing I swear it's just an easy way to disperse negative energy when something kinda catches you off gaurd or whatever !!

•i feel like he would live in a really blank apartment: white walls, white sheets, white floors, minimal furniture—everything minimal. except for just a bunch of 80s posters everywhere. you walk into this man's apartment and you are met with micheal Jackson, jaws, Whitney Houston, breakfast club, back to the future, all that shit.

• he is a germaphobe. I can just feel it. Not really with physical contact—but more public spaces. He refuses to touch and door handles, railings, or anything unless there is a sink or hand sanitizer nearby. he probably just watched to much science shit from being left unattended when he was younger it its just built up a fear in him

• he tryst to get the gang to do ' team building activities ' like EVERY weekend. he does actually succeed sometimes. Such activities can include: twister, karaoke, board games / video games ( family game night 🤭 ) , disco parties. you get it.

• he is a horrible cook. he may have been left unattended but he still had plenty of butlers around to make him food thus removing the need to learn how to himself. he probably makes the worst concoctions known to man—like the shit you find on the lunch trays of feral middleschools that dare their friends to eat the mashed-potatoe-chocolate-milk-bannana-bean-taco-meat-old-hard-chelse kinda shit. we all have some horrific war flashback in mind. and he thinks he is a CHEF.

• despite that he probably makes really good smoothies!! being a gym trainer and everything he got really good at it and will craft the most heavenly shakes and smoothies to ever bless your tounge.

• ummmmmm love language physical touch who?? brett, that's who. not even romantically but he just loves physical contact. words are hard. hugs are not.

• he probably think he is like a Disney princess and is a friend to all animals and for the most part he is but bird are definitely his worst enemy I can 100% see him getting his ass bit by a goose or getting shit on by a duck while trying to feed it bread. reagan probably had to give him a lesson om why he shouldn't give ducks bread too. he cried when he found out why that's a no no.
