“Reblog and put in the tags how did you choose the names of your OCs” (Prompt by inthetags on Tumblr.)
I gave my own nicknames to my self-insert characters like Sha Pris Amaranth, Jung Sha-Mina and Yuri Sha Hargreaves.
Other times my favourite things, like Carnation Lily: two of my favourite flowers there, which I had named two of my Nintendogs after, which in turn inspired my OC’s name, so she was named after the puppies named after my favourite flowers.
Bartholomew Wood and Leif Wood were named after historical figures. Well, Barley was named after a tree I named after a historical figure, not cos me and my brothers particularly care about these historical figures, but just cos we like the sound of their names, LOL! ^^;
Dr. Crow is named after my imaginary SO, Karasu from Yu Yu Hakusho whose name is the Japanese word for “Crow”, “Raven”, and “Blackbird”, as well as my crush I equate with Karasu from Black Jack named Dr. Kiriko aka “Death Incarnate”, while Dr. Crow’s real name is Tsubasa Hoshino. Tsubasa means “Wings” and is inspired by my muse and face-claim for Karasu being Atsushi Sakurai from BUCK-TICK and his association with wings, as well as Karasu’s other lookalike Lucifard Oscarstein from Kill the Crows of Three Thousand Worlds being associated with wings, too, while Hoshino comes from my other crush, Hidehiko Hoshino, also from BUCK-TICK. Dr. Crow’s nickname “Eric” is taken from Eric Draven from The Crow, and is what Sha calls him (just as I call Karasu this in my imaginary world).
Mitchi Applewaite was named after my brother, Micky, as a female counterpart to his character, Viktor, who originally shared his name.
Puck is named after Puck from A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
Just to name a few off the top of my head!

CARNATION, LILY, LILY, ROSE /1885/ by JOHN SINGER SARGENT
The painting shows two young girls lighting lanterns in what seems to be a garden at dusk. The artist used the 'en plein air' technique to capture the beautiful floral hues, which are pink roses, yellow carnations, and white lilies.
The painting's title was inspired by the song "Ye Shepherds Tell Me" by Joseph Mazzinghi. In the song's refrain, Mazzinghi mentions, "A wreath around her head, around her head she wore, Carnation, lily, lily, rose" when you think about it this directly relates to the flowers in the painting.
While in England, Sargent worked on this painting, he moved there because of the scandal from his 1884 painting 'Portrait of Madame X', which damaged his reputation in Paris. The painting, rather controversial, depicts Virginie Gautreau in ways that sparked outrage in Paris due to its provocative elements.
Ultimately, this painting revived Sargent's career after the 1887 Royal Academy exhibition. Some critics praised it for originality, with one radical publication calling it "the most interesting and original picture in the whole show" due to its innovative use of color and light.

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚. Queer Flora Tank Presale ‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.
I've been ideating this design for a whole year, I'm glad to say it's finally being printed AND by a studio I completely trust to rock it! (I worked in Flash Flood Print Studio's art department for nearly 4 years haha) But Now! Queer Flora is here!
Queer Flora showcases an arrangement of flowers that have been historically associated with queer signaling and pride. This design from left to right includes Lavender, Lilies, Trillium, Violets, Carnations, Orchids, Pansies, and Roses.
For the first printing we chose a split fountain in Trans colors (light blue, white, and pink), and it's on a soft Bella Canvas Slate Blue Tank top.
If the design does well, I am hopeful for more cool things down the line :Oc !
Link to presale in upcoming reblog as well as some history on each flower's relation to queer pride! ❀
