I don't understand madol, are there any currency tht is lower than madol?
Hello hello! Thank you for this question! 💴
There is no currency lower than 1 madol, as 1 madol is being used as approximately the same as 1 yen!
As a result 100 madol is being localized on EN as 1 thaumark, as it used to be that 1 yen was equivalent to 1 US cent💰
In this way EN ran into a problem: the characters sometimes do reference things costing under 100 madol, but with this localization nothing can technically cost less than 1 thaumark on EN--thus the birth of the EN-exclusive form of currency sorcents, the EN-Twst-equivalent to 1 US-cent to match the localization of 1 thaumark being 1 US-dollar.
And here are some additional currency-exchange examples from the game:
5,000,000 madol -> 50,000 thaumarks

EN's localization is not always consistent, however, with at least two instances where a cost in madol was written straight across into thaumarks:
10,000,000 madol written as 10,000,000 thaumarks during Phantom Bride instead of 100,000 thaumarks, and 1,000,000,000 madol written as 1,000,000,000 thaumarks in the Prologue instead of 10,000,000 thaumarks.
I hope this helps! 💸

summarizing a long, stupid tale, i have been behind on rent for months since my job has two weeks off for christmas and i havent been able to catch up because of late fees. on top of that, i had to pay for some car repairs, a new phone after mine just quit on me out of nowhere, and then my CAR WAS TOWED the day after my BIRTHDAY which cost me more than $300 to get out.

I see you have a lot of cards there and may I ask how many resources we need to have all the +99 cards? I suppose it depends on the events and the suitor, or am I wrong? Hehe I just want to know and try to get it 😅
hi there, anon! i feel that, no matter which suitor, it still does cost quite a bit to +99 a card. they're practically designed to be "locked" behind a paywall :,> but there are some that are more easily obtainable than others, as there r different methods to obtain them! which i'll go more into detail abt them and amount of resources for +99ing a card below the cut.
method #1: sending hearts in collection events...many, many times
this is the most "expensive" way, so to speak. in collection events, the featured ★4 is first given either at 280 times sent, if you send all 280 times within the first 80 hours of the event, or at ~560 times sent within the duration of the entire event. from there, you receive a dupe for every 20 times sent.
now, assuming you do get the ecb (280 times in 80 hours), you will get it to +1 at 560 times. so that leaves 98 x 20 = 1,960 more times needed. so that makes 560 + 1,960 = 2,520 times sent by the end of the event to fully uncap the card to +99. if you don't make the ecb, then you need an extra dupe, so 2,520 + 20 = 2,540 times.
assuming you only utilize one of the 3x lucky times (escort or story in en server), and all numbers are rounded up to the nearest whole number...
that would be a total of 2,540 / 6 = 424 cocktails x 150 gems = 63,600 gems for escorts
for stories, each run-through will yield 25 x 15 = 375 for reading through each of the 25 chapters; 10 x 6 = 60 for completing all the intimacy checks and avatar missions; and an additional 15 for completing the entire story. so that would make 375 + 60 + 15 = 450 times. so, 2,540 / 450 = 6 times. each run through needs 125 tickets, so 125 x 6 = 750 tickets x 100 gems = 75,000 gems.
it would cost less if you had other resources saved up already for the event, utilized other lucky times, parked your stories, etc. etc.
that said! some events - namely the 2024 halloween event in jp (ecb: william, nica) and jude's route release event and past records (ecb: jude) - have a system where they feature not one, but two ★4 featured cards. in which case, you get alternating dupes every 10 times sent. essentially, by sending 2,520 / 2,540 times, you can get 2 ★4 cards to +99!
method #2: ranking top 100 for a suitor in certain collection events
this is only applicable to some events, such as the aforementioned halloween 2024 collection event that ran in jp, the next wedding event coming to en, and some past records (elbie/al; ellis/jude).
now how many resources this takes is pretty much dependent on which suitor you're going for. the more popular the suitor, the more resources you will need to expend (bc the pool would be larger for more popular suitors, so naturally numbers and borders will be higher).
if you wanna play it safe to rank in a suitor's top 100 and have a relatively stress-free ranking experience, i would probably dedicate an average of 650 hearts. but if you're going for jude or ellis in either server, it might be better to get close to 700. on the other hand, if you're going for liam, you probably don't need 650...probably 500 may be enough.
...that said, don't take my word for it.
method #3: grinding in birthday parties
so bday parties r those events that r coming out in en next year for ikevil. they also feature a ★4 card which you can stack to +99 in the duration of the event, but it's not as expensive as uncapping them via collection events.
on the other hand, cards from birthday parties do have a slightly lower bp. in jp, an average fully-uncapped collection event card will have 2,295 bp. meanwhile, a bday party card, fully uncapped, is 2,145 bp. these cards r cgs for their stories, and as such, they r treated at the same level as a cg card you can obtain by reading a suitor's ending in their main story.
how many resources this takes is dependent on how strong your deck is for a character (and maybe how high your attire bp is). if you have a strong deck, you don't need to expend as much, but on the other hand, if you don't own many good cards for said suitor, you may need to expend more resources. i'm not exactly sure how many points exactly are needed to fully uncap this card, just that every 1000 points after reaching level 45, you receive a card dupe.
i heard around 150,000 points is enough to fully uncap the card. it does sound like a lot, but with a strong deck, each time you "escort" can yield quite a bit of points!

Switch 2 Price: Objectively
Before I get started let me just say that I absolutely agree that $450 is a lot of money, not denying that one bit. Please do not be mean in the comments, I am mildly autistic and was abused as a child so I cry stupidly easy.
It goes without saying that some of this price has also been adjusted due to the new 24% tariffs on Japanese goods. (This has not been confirmed by Nintendo but it follows the market trend of companies passing those costs directly to consumers).
With that out of the way, lets look at the hardware specifications of the Switch 2 that have been confirmed by Nintendo and nvidia.
4k 120 FPS when docked
7.9" 1080p HDR LCD screen built in
DLSS, ray tracing, and g-sync support
256GB SSD storage
These specifications put the Switch 2 firmly above the capability of a PS4 in the form factor of what is essentially a tablet. The Switch 1 was about as capable as the PS3, which is also somewhat impressive for the formfactor. While we likely won't have actual benchmark tests until review units go out near launch, we can still see that the hardware is quite good based on the info we have. Now let's take a look devices with similar capability of Switch 2 that are currently available on the market.
PS5
The PS5 is a more powerful system than Switch 2 without a doubt with Sony originally toting 8k resolution support. However it is also a much larger device and is notoriously sold at a loss as has been the trend with all console manufacturers since the 1970s. The PS5 slim comes in at the same $450 as Switch 2 due to its lack of Bluray drive. It also cannot be played anywear other than your home unless you invest in the $200 Playstation Portal streaming handheld.
Xbox Series X/S
While the Xbox Series S comes in at $150 cheaper than the Switch 2, it has also been notoriously hard for developers to get their games running in 4k on the device and is widely considered a non option for others, with Microsoft having to wave certification requirements for certain games such as Baldur's Gate 3 in order for Larion Studios to even consider porting it to the Xbox.
These are also not a portable system and are likely to be discontinued soon due to Microsoft shifting focus away from console exclusivity and on to their GamePass streaming service.
Laptops
The lowest price I could find on a laptop that features similar performance to Switch 2 will cost you around $650. And while laptop PCs can do much more overall due to the nature of the Windows desktop environment, I'm looking at this from a purely gaming performance focus. These lower end devices often suffer from performance dips due to lack of proper cooling and the overhead of the OS as well.
Handhelds/Steamdeck likes
The Steam Deck is a pretty incredible value starting $400 with access to a vast amount of the Steam Library. However it struggles with running complex games in 4k and its ray tracing support is quite lacking as well, but to be fair the device was not really designed to do that. It also only has a 720p 60hz display and is quite a bit bulkier than the Switch. Steam Deck competitors such as the ROG Ally and Legion Go are a bit more capable, but have notoriously poor battery life and are much more expensive in the $700-800 range.
Switch 1
The Switch 2 is also bound to compete with the Switch 1 for sales due to pricing and availability in the first couple of years of its lifespan. While the system is 8 years old, it still has quite a vast amount of support from developers and publishers due to it having a great lifetime sales figure. It has unfortunately been notoriously under-powered since its initial launch in 2018 with developers often having to greatly pare down their games in order to get them running on the system and often releasing 1-2 years after they have already launched on other platforms. The system also hasn't dropped its price from $300 outside of rare holiday sales.
The extra power of the Switch 2 should allow for more games to run on the system at a much less compromised experience compared to PS5/PC ports.
TLDR; Yes $450 is expensive, but the cost of the hardware is a fair market price.
$80 for the games is batshit insane tho.

New Gen is much cheaper than old MCL
I've finally played the first episode and I'm very relieved to see that prices have been decreased quite a bit, and doing some math New Gen ends up being way cheaper than old MCL. A lot cheaper.
In old MCL we received 600 free APs every month, and each episode used to cost around 1000 APs (University Life and Love Life). Here, we receive 1,780 free APs every month. The first episode ended up costing me around 1,150 APs. Even if the following episodes are slightly more expensive, we will be able to easily play each episode for free by logging in every day.
Additionally, they really listened to the beta feedback. The AP cost has been decreased of around 50 APs for each choice. Neutral choices used to cost 40APs -> now they cost 2APs like every normal line of dialogue. Medium choices used to cost between 80 and 120 APs depending on Ysaline's personality -> now they cost ~50 APs Critical choices used to cost 150-170 depending on personality -> now they cost ~100 APs Archibald's choice used to be a critical choice and it's now a medium choice.
They also increased the number of currency we receive by logging in every day. During the beta the listing price reported that we would get 1290 AP for free and 300 additional APs with the VIP pass every month. Now we get 1,780 AP for free and 700 additional APs through the VIP subscription. (And I haven't calculated the other currencies yet but they also seem to have been increased.)
tldr: New Gen is much cheaper than old MCL and the basic game can be easily played for free.
#my candy love#mcl#mcl new gen#mcl info#and we also start the game with 3540 free APs so we can quite comfortable start playing the game without spending a cent

Could you have a three course meal with only Madoka merch?
I've seen things like this before with Pokemon or Evangelion but I wanted to try it with Madoka, it would probably be a little more difficult since it’s a lot less popular than both but here we goooo!
So we’re looking for food and crockery for this! We want a starter, a main course, a dessert and a drink for our food. And for crockery we want a plate, perhaps a bowl (for starter or pudding), a knife, fork, spoon (perhaps for dessert) and a cup or glass.
I’m more confident with the crockery so let’s start there.
There are plenty of plates to choose from! So let’s go with the Broccoli line which includes every girl, Kyubey and Charlotte. Originally sold for ¥1200. I’ll choose Mami :)

I could only find one bowl in contrast but that’s good enough. From Movic, we have to choose a Kyubey for this one... sigh... at least we can pretend we’re drowning them XD This one’s a slightly pricier¥1260.

Now cutlery is a lot harder... I couldn’t find any knives or forks but we can compensate! It may be harder for certain dishes but we can use the Penguin Parade chopsticks! Originally selling for ¥840, we’ll choose Mami again, of course.

However another option is the cake forks from the "I'm not afraid of anything anymore" cake set selling for ¥5880 altogether. Perhaps we could use the forks for our main but it could also be for dessert depending on what we choose (though if we’re buying it all we might as well choose the cake that comes with it too XD )

Even though we have a cake forks, let’s still prepare well with a spoon! This is actually the reason I wanted to do this in the first place XD I saw a set of spoons on a regular ebay trawl! I believe, these are limited from the Madoka Magica cafe. Unfortunately the listings for these settle to around $150 since they’re limited items from a no longer running cafe...

But fear not! Perhaps instead we can choose the spoon from the Kyubey cake set! Now we get two cakes for dessert! This one is certainly cheaper than the first option at ¥3780.
Next let’s choose a glass and a cup! There’s certainly plenty to choose from in this category. Let’s go for the ACG glass set and choose the lovely Charlotte! This set also includes a Kyubey design, a generic fancy design and runes. You can buy three glasses for ¥2800, we can bring guests!

Let’s go a bit more modern for our cup! The glass was from 2014 now let’s jump to 2021! A lovely cup designed by our favourite Inu Curry for ¥1500!

Now we’ve got our crockery, let’s move onto food! I have a feeling this will be far more tricky...
We can’t really have a traditional starter but what about some bread hm? No, what if I put it in a can for you? Canned bread! We’ve got the same lineup as our original plates but sadly missing Kyoko as many early merch pieces do... sorry Kyoko... I know you would’ve appreciated the bread... This is only a low price of ¥700 hooray!

Now onto our starter! What luck, we have a choice! Would you like the curry for ¥683?

Or the ramen for ¥893? I’m surprised they sold full meals, I don’t know about you

We already bought our dessert with our cutlery so we have another choice of two! Would you like the peach and pineapple Mami cake?
Or the vanilla and raspberry Kyubey cake?
Wasn’t that tasty? Now why don’t we top off our meal with some tea in our 10th anniversary cup! Let’s have the black tea from Mami for ¥525!

So let’s run the maths, how much did our lovely meal cost? A-Ah... ¥40982..? just shy of $300..? P-Perhaps it’s not such a good idea then... shouldn’t’ve bought those spoons...

mukkie needs a new chair ASAP
so my only source of income for now comes from commissions, meaning that i spend a good chunk of my days sitting and drawing so i can pay my part in the house bills, my meds, the pets' food etc.
but take a look at what im sitting at everyday:

i already have back problems since i was a teenager, and using this thing to work is really helping to further deteriorate my spine. ( lately i have only been able to draw quick sketches more often than full, detailed pieces, and i am currently struggling to finish such works due to my lowerback and neck/shoulders hurting a lot due to bad posture. ) i have been doing some research, and good chairs with arm rest and support for the lower back would be costing around 700 / 800 R$ ( approx. 150 / 160 USD ), and my wallet already got blasted with the previous month's root canal and the upcoming bills will not be cheap, so as much as i don't like to do this, i am asking if anyone can help me afford a new, better chair! literally any amount helps, because foreign money is worth a lot in my country, and if you can't help ( things are tough for everyone i really understand (´ ~ `) ) consider giving this post a boost?
if you can help, here is the link for my ko-fi!

Ghala the Ghoul Warframe
I don't know if @ghalaghoul plays Warframe but Ghala is still partially named after her. It was a coincidence at first but now it's an intentional homage. As the Ghoul Queen Ghala's abilities and weapons are based on those used by the Grineer Ghouls.
Health: 500 (700 at rank 30) Shields: 100 (200 at rank 30) Armor: 300 Energy: 100 (150 at rank 30) Sprint Speed: 0.9
Passive: Ghala's wounds weep poisonous blood after sustaining injury. Once per second Ghala deals damage to all enemies within a 10 meter radius equal to the amount of health she has lost within the last 10 seconds divided evenly between cold and toxic damage with 30% status chance. This effect persists even while Ghala is bleeding out.
Ability 1: Devourer Hook, 25 energy. Ghala is a merciless hunter, hungry for flesh and blood. By firing grapling hooks from her wrists she can make sure enemies won't escape, bringing them to her or herself to them. Tap to fire a single hook from Ghala's wrist which can target either terrain or an enemy within 60 meters. If the target is an enemy they will be impaled upon the hook, taking 600 slash damage with a guaranteed slash status proc. Ghala then retracts the cable, pulling herself rapidly to the point at which the hook is embedded, staggering all enemies within an 8 meter radius upon landing. Hold to fire up to six hooks which each automatically target enemies within a 30 meter 45 degree cone in front of Ghala, impaling them to deal 300 slash damage with a guaranteed slash status proc and then pulling all affected enemies to Ghala's feet, ragdolling them and rendering them vulnerable to melee ground finishers for 4 seconds.
Ability 2: Augur Eruption, 50 energy. Revealing her uncanny burrowing ability Ghala disappears beneath the ground for a moment before suddenly emerging directly beneath the feet of the enemy targeted by her crosshairs within 45 meters with a fiery burst. The target enemy and all other enemies within a 10 meter radius are dealt 750 heat damage with a guaranteed heat status proc and become lifted for six seconds.
Ability 3: Expired Detonation, 100 health. Even without energy Ghala can weaponize her very body as a weapon. Flooding her toxic blood into her hands and then striking them together ignites the caustic chemicals pumping through her veins, causing a deadly explosion at the cost of a portion of her own health. Expired Detonation deals 1,500 blast damage with a guaranteed blast status proc to all enemies within a 15 meter radius. Enemies already suffering from one or more blast, cold, or heat status procs will take an additional blast status proc from Expired Detonation. Health drained to cast Expired Detonation contributes to Ghala's passive ability.
Ability 4: Rictus Ravening, toggled ability, drains 3 energy per second. Hungering for flesh, Ghala redirects her energies completely sacrificing shield regeneration to gain lifesteal on melee attacks. While Rictus Ravening is active Ghala's shields will not regenerate but all melee attacks will heal Ghala for 5/X% of her max health, where X is equal to her equipped melee weapon's attack speed. Lifesteal only applies to the first enemy hit by each attack.
Subsumed ability: Expired Detonation
Signature Weapons Immolator: Ghala's preferred primary weapon, the Immolator is heavily based on the Ignis flamethrower, sharing the original's pure heat damage and projectile behavior. However the Immolator sacrifices the Ignis's status chance in favor of greatly improved critical chance and multiplier. Additionally the Immolator's spinning drill-like barrel creates an extra attack which shares the standard attack's trigger taking the form of a short and narrow cylinder within which enemies take pure slash damage. This small slash zone will continue to fire as long as the trigger is held, even after the magazine has been emptied. As Ghala's signature primary beam rifle the Immolator's slash effect has its length and radius slightly expanded when she wields it. Eviscerator: A custom made version of the Ghoulsaw for Ghala's personal use, improving on some of the original weapon's weaknesses. The blueprint for the Eviscerator requires MR14, is researched in and purchased from the Ventkids' Bash Lab in a clan dojo, and is crafted using a Ghoulsaw, a Gravimag, and an Orokin cell. Compared to the Ghoulsaw the Eviscerator has faster attack speed, longer range, higher status chance, and increased damage but the Eviscerator has a much higher slash value offset by lower impact & puncture values. For its unique feature the Eviscerator fires its blade as a projectile at the end of heavy attacks, flying in a straight line with infinite punch-through against bodies. As Ghala's signature melee weapon the Eviscerator deals 20% more status damage while she wields it.
Closing Notes: Early on I spent a lot of time just agonizing about the overlap between the 1st and 2nd abilities but I ended up justifying it by improving the 1's versatility and the 2's combo potential. I think Ghala is going to be mostly carried on her 3/4 combo, especially with Rage to keep her fueled. Her signature weapons aren't terribly creative but that - like the little problems with her abilities - are an unavoidable byproduct of basing a character on an enemy unit. Since I've already made a crit-based assault saw for Max I decided to make Ghala's status-based and after some careful thought I ended up just making it a straight upgrade of the original Ghoulsaw. Like "What if the Ghoulsaw was actually good?" There are a lot of people who love the Ghoulsaw for pure style points so adding a new version that's just a statistical upgrade should be pretty popular. Also I like that her abilities are all nice and short.

Bill Cipher as a Skylander!
Bill's element was surprisingly difficult to choose. Magic seems the most obvious, but Dark fits his moral compass (or lack of one), but one option stands above the rest: Kaos. The issue there is that Kaos element isn't available for any character other than Kaos himself. So, for the time being, I think i'll have Bill be Dark element.
Bill would be a Mage class Sensei, wielding his cane as a staff. He uses his godlike powers of reality warping and sadistic mind to reduce his foes into atoms with long lasting effects of rapid piercing damage for large amounts of crowd control.
Read below to find out more!
Stats:
Health: 400 (Level 1) 1200 (Level 20)
Power: 70
Speed: 55
Armor: 50
Critical Hit: 36
Elemental Power: 25
Core Abilities:
Primary - Magic Ray: Bill fires a low damage laser from his cane that pierces through enemies and bounces off of walls. The laser can pierce/bounce 3 times.
Secondary - Warp: Bill creates a bubble of chaos that can do one of three random effects to an enemy that passes through it. (1: rapid bursts of low damage that racks up quickly. 2: deals small damage while heavily slowing down what's caught within. 3: deals small damage while doubling all damage the enemy takes.)
Upgrades (ordered by cost to purchase):
500 - Tertiary: Cosmic Fold: Bill creates a distortion in reality around himself, forming a sphere that poisons every enemy within to make them take damage overtime that will ramp up overtime.
700 - Tele-Bomb: When using the Warp, you can hold the Tertiary button to have Bill perform a Tele-Bomb instead, teleporting backwards a good distance while leaving a bubble of chaos that will explode when an enemy steps inside of it.
900 - Super Laser: Bill's Magic Ray can pierce/bounce six times now.
1200 - Maniacal Maniac: Bill gains double the power boost from elemental zones that boost him.
Upgrade Paths:
Path 1 - King of Chaos: Bill Cipher rules over the Nightmare Realm for a reason. Select this path to unleash his cruelest powers upon the world!
1700 - Endless Beam: Hold the Primary button down to have Bill's Magic Ray become the Endless Beam. The Endless Beam can pierce infinitely, stopping after hitting a wall, and it will deal very rapid bursts of light damage to everything it touches.
2200 - Cosmic Toxins: The poison damage from the Cosmic Fold is increased by 50%, and Bill will now heal 10 HP for every enemy within the Fold when he uses it (Max: 100 HP).
3000 - Dark Bill: While inside of a zone that boosts Bill's power, he will turn into his Red Monster form from Wierdmaggedon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_eiCGIO_z4), though he'd only get slightly larger.
Path 2 - Manipulator: Bill is a silver tongued master of deception. Choose this path, and his trickery will be yours to use and abuse!
1700 - Possession: Hold the Primary button down to have Bill enter a possession state. The first enemy to attack him in this state will become Possessed, where Bill will take control of their body, becoming a statue and letting the player control the enemy, using the Primary button to use the enemy's attack. If Bill's statue takes damage, the possession ends immediately.
2200 - Soul Control: After possessing an enemy, for the next 10 seconds, Bill will take half damage from anything that hits him, and the enemy he had possessed will take the other half.
3000 - Statue of Broken Dreams: While in his statue form, Bill will produce small waves of magic that deal knockback, making it harder to hit him while possessing an enemy.
Soul Gem:
4000 - Eternal Chaos: Bill will now heal 10 HP every 10 seconds.
Sky-Chi Power:
Break in Reality: Charge the Cosmic Fold to have it become the Break in Reality. An 'X' shaped hole will split in the sky above, firing out a massive burst of high damage piercing energy that poisons anything hit by it. Afterwards, two Eyebats with 150 HP will float on either side of Bill, stunning enemies they catch in their sight for a short while. The eyebats leave after 30 seconds.
Other Stuff:
Upon being placed on the portal for the first time, Bill will give the player his 'Cipher Staff', being a Legendary Mage weapon that gives +50 Power and +10 Speed.

Coffee? Vodka. - Ch. 01
Someone silken is looking into Cam-5a, foot tapping, waiting to be buzzed in. She doesn’t know but Torch can’t bring themselves to look back at her in the feed. “Now… what do I have you for today, ma Chérie?”
“Cut the shit,” Buck snarls; means the fake accent. “I don’t have time.”
The flirting too — if Torch could even stop. Their eyes flick to Cam-5b, hidden between never-emptied dumpsters; a low-angle shot, gratuitous even. Torch would smirk at the accusation, insisting the leering upskirt was a mere side-effect of redundant security.
“Rush order?” Torch asks, door unlocked. She’s in the red heels — it makes Torch choke, yank the illegal, under-river Ottawa-Gatineau cable and forfeit a 10000QBD Soko stake. Sep-cred is fake, whatever she wants has to be better. “You know I gotta get somin’ extra.”
Buck pours down the staircase — voice first, “It’s cheap as dirt, Tor.” Then, too-small dress and rainbow-optic hair extensions. She quivers a bit, “I just don’t have… access. Got it?”
“‘Course, Babe,” Torch soothes. “I’m here for you.”
When Buck — eye-rolled — sees Torch, the bulletproof slide retracted, hot-rod biker-helmet on the counter. Torch continues, “What trouble can I get you into? Reccs are free.”
“Uh-huh? For another pretty thing I can’t ever afford,” Buck retorts — not without cred, she thinks, hands rubbing on scandalous, bare freckles and lasered tattoo-remains.
“No toys this time,” she admits. “It’s— estradiol.”
Torch rocks back-and-forth in thought, cowboy boots knocking a mystery box stuffed with experimental, variously-inhumane grenades — compliments to clients Torch wouldn’t mind not turning into repeat business. It feels familiar, some ex must’ve said it, but— Tap-tap.
The bounced, red heel puts a shiver in Torch — their lowers, mostly.
“So— that’s like some kinda poison?”
Whines, known-not-the-pleasant-kind, spill into the cold basement air before Torch can even finish; Buck sees her own breath, imagines they keep doing this on purpose, just to make her tits stand on end.
“Estradiol Cypionate:
40 grams-per-litre, 10 millilitre vial. 3-to-5-percent QTL.
Two of ’em,” she begins. Goes on to describe needle gauges, lengths — “latter should be 16 millimetres” — and syringes in Torch-stunned quantities; Buck’s an artisanal bitch, tools are to be repaired — and Torch happens to know how — not replaced.
Let alone have a hundred, two hundred spares.
When Torch doesn’t start to type it down she looms over, impatient. Her painted nails press on the flame-patterned helm till the polystyrene crunches. There’s an obedient clack as she continues — thin smile on her face, “220 alcohol swabs — actually, no I can get those.”
“Progesterone:
Suppository formulation, 700 of ‘em. 50:50’d between 100 and 200 milligram,
or make it 150,” she finishes, a curt nod when Torch looks up — dipping to the heels, the red ones, for a moment — before their face then locks into a bemused smirk.
“And that suppository goes—”
“Up— My— Ass,” she rebuffs, half-demonstrating in a rude gesture. Her arms cross over each other, retinas she’s digi-tinted in pulsing red finishing their roll into a distant, cob-webbed corner. “You wanna do some follow-up then get it delivered — stat!”
“So it’s for you, ya?” Torch returns, cautiously soft-faced.
“Yes — Tor. It’s for…” Buck starts, before catching Torch’s sweet inquisition too late. She lets her arms fall, thumb-link dropped to where the silk dress bunches at her hips. “Family Doc cut me off, but he could go fuck himself anyway. No, I don’t wanna— I’m not gonna tell you why and now I’m gonna run out in a week and…”
Torch offers a hand, rested on a loose stack of reboxed, tampered bio-pads, and she takes it; still not looking, her voice lowers to a squeak, “It’s— y’know, my medicine.”
“I gotchu, Babe,” Torch says. Her eyes squeeze shut, patterned off the calming pressure on her hand, blind to the smile that’s crept onto their face. “But you know — rush costs extra.”
It takes a moment, and—
Her lips sour; cheeks tremble, pushed up to her nose. Ten and a dozen steps back, hand falling limp and out-of-reach, till she’s lean-to on a crumbling, red-brick pillar.
Buck sucks in a frigid breath.
“No Tor, it doesn’t,” she says, directed at the floor. “I’ll schmooze you for what, a mag-pull grappling hook? Some floorplan, god-knows how you got it and I-don’t-want-to. Those— fucking— reusable shock-mines. Not this.”
She looks up, stare like a ballistic knife into Torch.
“I’m not the one choosing to put myself at risk here.”
Torch’s lip-danced lecherousness feels wretched now. They can’t think — or admit, perhaps — what it was before, other than miscalculated. “Alright… alright,” they say, words pressed around the lump in their throat. “Sorry Babe. You know how I am.”
“I wish I did,” Buck says, like cold, unstirred coffee.
Torch lets a few chuckles splinter out, “Now, how’s that supposed to make me feel?”
“Motivated, one should hope,” she replies. Her heels, Torch can’t look without tasting the dust-covered crimson sheen, point to the stairs as she turns — an inobvious, soon-dashed threat. “I don’t care what it costs, but you don’t need it upfront. It’s cheap, I promise.”
Torch doesn’t indicate much — she prompts, gentle, “Okay?”
There’s some cable-tangled boot tousling as they rattle to attention then relax the semi-startled posture, “If it’s your meds, I ain’t scamming you.”
She raises a brow, crosses her leg so the heels are pointing right at them, holding herself otherwise tortuously unreadable, “And that means you are sometimes?”
When she hears some winced, guttering moan in return she snickers and runs a palm up her cheek, following the blooming smile.
“Only when you ain’t being sharp,” Torch brims, with a restoked glow. “I know you’ll forgive me. Some clients make me money, it’s such a precious few that make me happy too.”
The cheek turns lily-white in her claws, when she drags them off her face it pulls her lips apart, spilling out airy frustration. She doesn’t see it this time, Torch has turned the heaters on at some point. It’d be better received if there was less eagerness in their gaze.
She takes another step, then stops.
One of Torch’s words is pursed on her lips, till it falls out, soundless. Now she’s said all she had to, the shadows slip off; shows the lines under her eyes. Torch thinks they might have to vault the table to catch her, that’ll she fall asleep where she stands — in those heels.
She got what she wanted. Those blood-dressed slippers signal an unmet request.
“Let me run the order,” Torch course-corrects. “Coffee?”
“Vodka.”

I once spent 700 dollars on a one off hand crafted plushie from Instagram a few years ago. The money was out of my savings but I'd fell in love with the plushie and I agonized for a few days over the cost. I usually just thrift plushies, the most I ever pay is forty dollars and even that is rare. So I kinda just went crazy and bought it. I'm guilty of seeing an adorable plushie without emotionally bonding with it, I only have a handful I actually feel connected to. So I tend to just be impulse buying. I have so many now because of it, that's ridiculous and I feel overwhelmed. Anyways I buy this plush (my mom flipped) and within a few months I'm just like regretting it because I am bored with it, and it's still nice but I'm not like fixated on it. I sold it for a hundred and fifty immaculate nearly mint condition. So maybe it's a good thing you haven't bought that plush 😔
Omg that’s a lot of money!
I’m the same way tho, I saw this plush and became fixated on it!
I can’t believe you were only able to sell it for $150 tho :( a loss….
Impulsively buying stuff is something I struggle with too. But we can overcome it! We gotta be strong and not buy every cute plushie…. Even if it’s hard!

i know it’s a bit selfish of me to think this way, but why does korea get princess treatment when it comes to tour tickets, but as soon as my favs come to america the tickets are $150 a piece for nosebleed seating then $700 for a relatively close seat?? makes no sense to me.
idk i will openly admit i’m jealous because i know unless i take out a loan i won’t ever be able to see enhypen, txt, g-idle or literally any of my favs. (i saw ateez for $200 but i was in nose bleed, so i could barely see anyone). i hope my rant doesn’t piss people off because this is just me expressing how i feel.
it's not selfish at all!!! we're the customers so i think we can rightfully call out the unfair pricing. i understand that venues are expensive but surely with how quickly they sell out and how much money enha makes, that shouldn't warrant $700 tickets?? yeah i think you have a right to feel upset!! it's making me start to understand why people just book tickets to seoul to see them in concert there because with the airfare and hotel costs,, i'm sure it comes to the same price in the long run
