I know this is just a silly bad quality random screencap of a screencap that I found on facebook lol, BUT it's a succinct enough image to easily describe the concept in a quick/accessible way hopefully :

(especially elaborating about other senses as well.. can you "hear" in your mind just as well as you can "see"? taste? etc.) It's an interesting topic to me, as someone who's like a 4.5 at MOST lol. I'm curious what option will be the most common :0c )

#tumblr polls #hrmm... a little poll perhaps.. about a subject I find interesting.. since this image came across my facebook today #still really not feeling that well. no longer shaking violently and such but I still feel weird and weak much more than usual #They did say my markers for like infection or inflammation were elevated but that they werent sure of the cause so hopefully #it's nothing too serious. they did also say a lot of different things can cause that thing to be higher than normal but didn't go into spec #fics of what. maybe some of them are relatively benign or something. I still havent felt much back to normal since #I got really sick that one time though. I feel fine on and off but then little bouts of feeling weird and sick happen. hrmmm #ANYWAY.. looking for small ways to be productive. such as little doodles on evil ipad or editing game videos #or posting polls or cat pictures or some other like not very labor intensive things #I WISH I COULD FOCUS on writing HHRGGhh... I need to finish my game.. it would be so freeing.. a project that's been looming #over my head for like 5 years even though througouht that 5yrs I've probably spent a total of 3 months working on it lo.. ANYWAY #I still partially really cannot beleive that people CAN see stuff in their heads. There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb #e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about #different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see #stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I #can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone #said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects #the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

FYI, all my writing is done while listening to a cocktail of music including: the Arcane soundtrack, the original Moana soundtrack (it’s a vibe okay-), Tom Lehrer, Chappel Roan, the soundtrack of Mulan and Mulan II, and an amalgamation of viral TikTok music, Beethoven, Doja Cat, and The Witcher ambience

None of this is properly sorted according to vibe, since I refuse to pay for Spotify premium.

So yes, that tragic scene in which my character finds her mother murdered, was, in fact, probably written to the tune of Moana’s “You’re Welcome”.

ya know what would be a dream scenario for me in terms of the musical movie renaissance? if movie directors decide to take one quick look at epic the musical on youtube,,,and realize that the primary reason why that indie project is as popular as it is is because it actively encourages the creation of animatics,,,so basically can like Hollywood realize animation Is Indeed The Way To Go If They Ever Want To Adapt Something As Big As Hadestown To The Big Screen

#i've been struggling to find the right words to articulate this #but everything that's happened w/ masquerade nyc has felt so in line with what we've come to expect from ALW in general and wrt his musical #like you're telling me the same guy who didn't think it was important to plan anything for the final public performance of a deeply-#-loved show that ran on broadway for 35 years also didn't plan effectively for introducing a large scale immersive production to an-#-audience that likely has 0 prior experience with immersive theater?#you're telling me the same guy who time and time again has shown a profound disrespect for the people cast in his shows by not informing-#-them that they'd be out of a job before the news went public is also opening a new show that has been extremely cagey about sharing-#-helpful information (age requirement/dates/dress code/prices etc) in a timely manner?#i know ALW is not solely and/or directly responsible for these decisions but it's His show and His company #so these Thoughts are directed at both him and the overlapping higher-level staff across the musical and immersive production #and let me add a disclaimer that i think what the minds behind masquerade nyc are trying to do creatively is super cool and i'm confident-#-that a lot of passion and dedication has gone into this project (on top of tons of hard work from everyone involved at every level)#which is partly why i think all the issues surrounding it are so frustrating to everyone. like we all want to be excited about it!#anyways none of this is really that Deep i just wanted to try and articulate my thoughts on this whole thing without getting too-#-involved in the discourse of it all . that is why i've written this 5 paragraph essay in the tags #editing this to add that none of this even touches on the issues with the production not being open about the accessibility of the venue-#-to the point where people had to DM the IG account to ask. like i get that they want to build hype based on mystery and intrigue but-#-there are certain compromises you have to make when it comes to planning and executing something of this scale

Good thing that despite all the depression and constant rock bottom over the last years I've been hoarding lots of writing so when I finally start working at the library and going to media school I could try to use connections and get some stuff published or just put it out there for people 🙏🏻

#in the town where the library is they host short film days every year and i wanna look into the guidelines and maybe try to participate #i have so many film ideas or even just like music videos i only need people to make it real with #which i might find in the city where the school is because that's like one of the creative capitals in the country #and event technicians go there too along with marketing and media people plus i could go abroad within those 3 years which i hope will work #in the schedule i saw they're sending me to a specific music library in a major city for a few weeks too!!#in addition to the regular library there and since they mentioned basing the internships on the apprentices' interests #i think they did the music library one for me because at my test day in december i mentioned going to the record store after this 🥰#university library and city archive and educational film hire service are also on the list of internships which is so cool???#anyway yeah while i don't have anything to put on my resume for the last 2 years except for 4 months hospitality and some internships #i at least have a whole bunch of poetry and songs and stories and ideas which in this case i could name in an emergency maybe 😭#did you know 2023 was my most productive year in terms of original writing? and the first half of that year was pure hell #last year i wrote tons of stuff too i just didn't post it for reasons unknown (wanting it to be perfect and complete)#mel talks

i never thought id be desperately wanting to travel to see a production of Cats, let alone TWO different productions of Cats, but Paramount Aurora's circus cats and Casa Mañana's country cats are both calling to me

both productions look so cool and creative and like such a fun time. these two shows are EXACTLY what we should be doing w funky shows like Cats: choosing a theme and going All In, with campy costumes and acrobatics or full country accents

#i love both productions so much and i havent even seen them #but like the design???? for both of them???? ate so hard #and the design of OG cats is my favorite part of the og show #the set for casa mañana's country cats is sick as hell with all the neon signs and such #and they ALL HAVE SOUTHERN/CPUNTRY ACCENTS #THEYRE SINGIN ALW CATS WITH COUNTRY ACCENTS #I LOVE IT SM #and the costume design and general creativity and ingenuity of paramount's circus cats??????#iconic and so perfect for this show #i love theater so much #i love it when shows get the chance to be funky and fun and creative #this is what theater is all about #cats the musical #paramount cats #casa mañana cats
