Harry and Lily Luna 🐞 - "I don't want you to save the world. I just want you to be my daddy."

It was tough leaving for his Auror missions after Ginny had finished Hogwarts, but it became even harder after his kids were born, especially his little Lily Luna.

She sensed Harry was leaving before he even told her. She became his little shadow and followed him everywhere. Lily demanded extra cuddles, waited outside the bathroom, declined to eat her meals unless she was sitting in his lap and he was feeding her, and refused to leave his side until he had to leave.

He didn't realize she was listening in on his and Ginny's conversation the other day about a dangerous mission he had been working on for months. She noticed the way her mom's hands would fidget and how she asked him to be careful in a small voice.

Lily's cousins all said Uncle Harry was saving the world, which she hated because saving the world required him to leave for missions. Everything seemed bigger and scarier when her father wasn't present.

When she noticed the patronus signaling that it was time for him to leave, she huffed and strolled over to her favorite tree, slumping down with a pout. She took a fistful of grass, yanked it out of its roots, and threw it on the ground while crossing her arms over her chest. She heard her father's footsteps as he scooped her up into his arms and tickled her, and instead of laughing, her lips trembled as tears streamed down her face. Harry immediately pulled her into a hug and wiped her tears with his thumb. "Hey, what's wrong, my little Lilybug?" She played with his collar for a few seconds before looking him in the eyes and saying "I don't want you to save the world. I just want you to be my daddy."

Let me big up my son too wait. Spencer James, my baby boy who has spent his entire life being angry and afraid of people leaving him, listened to the love of his life tell him that she wants to extend her stay AWAY from him and their life back home and he handled it so well! He trusted that she’d be back. In that space of time, he never lost his love for her, he focused on his career and became a household name in collegiate football and he waited for her and had an honest conversation with her without pushing her away by jumping to conclusions that she was leaving him. The growth!!! I’m so proud of my baby

So tired of all the fics that have Harry enjoy reading but it turns him into a snobby cynical asshole. Like reading would turn him into a different person completely. Shut the hell up maybe I just want to see him gushing over the latest fantasy series he stole from the nearest library and going absolutely fangirl insane when he sees a dragon for the first time, all while simultaneously backing as far away from his textbooks as possible and charging headfirst into a fight with a basilisk without researching a damn thing about it. LET HIM CONTINUE TO BE AN IMPULSIVE DUMBASS PLEASE I JUST WANTED HIM TO HAVE SOME COMFORT IN THE CUPBOARD LIKE DAMN 😭

The terrible thing about being into Cornish history is that your historical blorbos don’t even have so much as an etching of what they looked like and also just are not well known At All. I’m just here with Cpt. James Quick’s letters like I’m gonna get emotional reading these again HUH

But also it sucks because his wife’s maiden name is an excellent pun and their first child was born prematurely (side note: while it’s very possible the kid was conceived out of wedlock because the dates are INSANE it doesn’t really matter in any event since they appear to have lived pretty happy lives after the fact), James himself joked about their combined names and the premature baby. Harriet Quick’s maiden name was Dunn. They’re son was Dunn-Quick.

#also just for clarification.
