Okay I got another bowuigi idea.
Koopa Kingdom gets infested with Legally-Distinct-From-Tribbles and nobody can figure out how to get rid of them, they're eating everything, fire only makes them multiply somehow, and one day Bowser is trying to come up with ideas and mutters "What would Princess Peach do?" and one of his minions says "Call the Mario Brothers probably." They both have a good laugh over this.
But time goes by and the not!Tribbles are still everywhere, and finally Bowser is like "okay I'm at least going to ASK, can't hurt to ask, but I'll address it to the green one, that'll be less embarrassing."
Meanwhile Luigi has been feeling a little down about himself, so when he gets the letter he's like "Maybe if I do it it'll prove I can solve problems by myself!" (he was the only one who was doubting this). So he rolls up to the castle determined to Be A Hero and only changes his mind and turns around three times along the way.
Bowser is kind of a dick at first, naturally, but Luigi manages to stand up for himself and insist on being paid at least. This is an extermination job, not a rescue mission. After some back and forth Bowser agrees to give him a Kidnapping Rain Check - next time Luigi just isn't feeling it, he can use the rain check and make Bowser give up on his latest Kidnap Peach plan.
So Luigi goes around, studies the not!Tribbles, comes up with some plans for keeping them out of the food, etc. At first he's having to power through the fear, but eventually he realizes Bowser is mostly bluster (this time) and focuses more on doing the job.
A lot of time passes with both of them being surprised by each other. Luigi learns that Bowser rules through respect, not fear, and that he cares about others. Bowser learns that Luigi is more than just an inferior copy of his brother. I'm picturing a scene where Bowser (who has been casually talking down to Luigi this whole time) says something insulting, and Luigi snaps back with an insult of his own, and Bowser is so surprised that he busts out in genuine laughter. "Okay that's a good one. If you ever repeat it I'll throw you off something, but that's pretty good."
And maybe a scene where they're planning a Public Awareness Campaign so people will keep their food in sealed containers and stop burning the not!Tribbles already seriously you're only making it worse, and as they're talking about it Bowser Jr. wanders in and demands to be able to help. Bowser is like “Sure, you can make the artwork for all the posters we're going to put up, here's what I need you to draw.” Luigi watches this and thinks to himself, in order, “huh, I didn't think Bowser would be a good dad” and then “wait a minute, why didn't I think Bowser would be a good dad? That's not fair to him,” and then “wait since when have I cared about being fair to Bowser?”
Bowser definitely falls first, though he doesn't realize it for longer. He finds himself actually caring what Luigi thinks of him, and gets angry at himself for caring. At one point they're looking for cracks that the not!Tribbles might be sneaking in through, and have to take down a portrait of Peach that Bowser had put up in a secluded corner. Once that's done he completely forgets to put it back up for like two weeks, only realizing when he stumbles over it that he's barely thought of her at all lately.
Luigi, on the other hand, one day thinks to himself “Bowser is so cute when he laughs” and realizes instantly that he's sunk.
Finally they start making progress with the not!Tribbles, so Luigi is like “okay I'll come back in a week and see if the numbers have gone down,” and Bowser is like “yeah sure whatever.” But the next day he's listless and grouchy (he'd barely been grouchy at all lately, what's up with that?) and takes until almost evening to understand he misses Luigi. They both miss each other.
When Luigi finally comes back the not!Tribbles have gone down, but not enough, so he's back to coming over every day to do more research. Bowser is still barely clinging to denial, but he's started trying to look nicer, polishing his shell and combing his hair. Luigi notices and tries very hard not to notice.
If fire makes them multiply, maybe ice prevents it? So they put together some kind of giant mousetrap with lots of food and successfully manage to trap most of the not!Tribbles in a giant ice cube. It only takes another couple of days to track down the stragglers. They've done it! Luigi has saved (for a certain value of “saved”) the Koopa Kingdom.
And... that's it. There's no reason for him to stay anymore. Bowser scribbles out the rain check and starts to hand it to him... And stops.
“Don't take it.”
“What?”
“Don't take that. It's useless.”
“You're not going to honor it?” Luigi asks. He'd almost been allowing himself to think Bowser might like him back, a little bit, but now he's reminded that there's been someone more important to him since before all this started. Before they even met.
“I mean you're never going to have a reason to use it!” Bowser says.
He's never going to kidnap Peach again. At least, not the way he used to. Bowser still wants to take over the Mushroom Kingdom – as well as everywhere else, but Peach... she doesn't mean anything to him anymore.
He can't bring himself to say that though, and frustrated and angry he snaps at Luigi to take something else from the castle too, treasure or tools, anything he wants. And goes up to his bedroom to mope.
It's not until days later that he realizes one of his portraits is missing. It was a good one, he thought he looked really imposing in it, so he yells at people until somebody admits that the portrait was the thing Luigi took as his “payment.”
It wouldn't have been worth much. The frame was nice, but not THAT nice. If Luigi took Bowser's portrait it must be because he wanted it.
Bowser writes Luigi another letter, this time inviting him to dinner.

"Woah..." Danny's voice trails off as he takes in the cave.
"Welcome to the Batcave, home to all the bats and birds of Gotham. My name's Jason." Red Hood tells Danny as he takes off his domino, revealing swirling tealish blue eyes.
"Oh, I'm Danny, can't believe I forgot to mention that before..."
"It's fine, Danny. Let's get upstairs for some food, huh?" Jason says with a smirk before leading the way to an elevator.
"Me want to go." Bizarro speaks up as they pass a seating area.
'I'll stay with B, as much as I love to watch the matches between you and you family, the less people the better for this, I feel." Artemis pats Jason's shoulder before peeling off with Bizarro, leaving Jason and Danny to continue on alone.
"Alright, then... So, everyone you'll meet is either a vigilante or the butler, Alfred. No matter what the media says, Alfie's the real force behind the Wayne family, believe that." With that casual reveal, Jason steers Danny into the elevator.
"Wayne. Bruce Wayne? The fruitloop who's known for being a playboy... is Batman?!" Danny's voice echoes around the small space with his exclamation.
"The one and only. Prepare to be interrogated. He won't hold back just because you're a kid." The elevator doors open with that warning, revealing a study with wood paneling, many bookshelves, and quite a few picture frames.
The desk is covered with paperwork, paperweights, picture frames, and writing utensils. The leather chair behind it is made cozier by a throw blanket. Perched in said chair is a pre-teen boy of middle-eastern complexion with an intense expression and the green eyes to match.
"Todd. Who allowed you to bring in a civilian through the cave? I doubt Father is aware of this, as we have not been made informed via briefing." Damian glares at his second eldest brother.
"Oh, shut it, you demon. I'm taking this kid in, with or without the old man's approval." Jason continues to steer Danny out of the room, letting the grandfather clock close behind them. A single toll of the clock's chime rings out as the two leave the study.
Danny looks back at the clock, seeing a green post-it note sticking out from behind the glass. "Clockwork," He whispers, turning back to face the black-haired man. "You're taking me in?"
"Kid, your parents are never going to see a single hair from your head again if I can help it. I won't be your dad, but I can be a brother." Jason looks Danny in the eye as he says this, wanting to get his point across.
"My sister... she should be coming to Gotham soon. Can you keep an eye out for her? Her name's Jazz, Jasmine, Fenton. But she'll likely change her last name soon."
"Will do, kiddo. Just give me a picture later. Now, any food preferences or allergies? Alfie'll want to know." The two continue the trek through the manor as the dialogue continues to flow.
"Well, this is the dining room. Take any seat that you're comfortable with. Don't feel forced to answer the old man's questions." With those instructions, Jason opens the heavy oak door to the room.
As Danny enters, he's shocked by the amout of people with black hair and blue eyes. Jason acts as Danny's bodyguard as they approach the long, stately table.
"Jason, who is this?" The man at the head of the table asks.
"This is Danny. I'm taking him in." Jason tells Bruce, who lifts a single brow.
"Father, Todd brought the boy in through the cave." Damian tattles to the bat as he enters behind Danny and Jason. The latter of which glares at the youngest while muttering under his breath.
"Did this one have a chance to figure it out? Or did you fully skip that part of the tradition?" Tim asks from his place three seats to Bruce's left.
Jason gives the stalker a tongue-lash of an answer. Duke chuckles as the response, earning an elbow to his ribs for it.
"Never see me sit next to you again," Duke hisses to Tim for that hit.
"Nephew or baby brother?" Cass asks as she appears in the room, startling all but Danny, who had noticed her while Jason was responding to Tim.
"To be determined, but brother is more likely." Jay tells his little big sister as she glides over to the table to claim her seat.
"When was this decided?" Bruce begins his interrogation before the two even take their seats, earning him a look from his father-figure.
Dinner passes somewhat uneventfully, at least for a manor of vigilantes. Danny answered whichever questions he was comfortable with, while also making some small puns to keep the atmosphere light.
"You just happened to come across a punster, huh?" Tim asks Jason as Alfred serves dessert.
"Didn't realize it until twenty minutes ago, so, yeah. Dickie must never find out." Jay growls as he looks around the room, fully expecting his older brother to just pop in at the mention of his name.
"I must never find out what? Oh, who's the new face? Hi, I'm Dick!" The acrobat drops from the vent, landing in his designated chair before turning to Danny with a wide grin.
Sensing the impending pun-off, Bruce, Jason, Tim, and Damian groan.
"You go by that willingly?!"

the reason i love the izuru junko friendship so much is because of how it parallels the hajime chiaki friendship
chiaki and junko are both supposed to be representations of hope and despair. hajime and chiakis friendship is small subtle interactions fueled by pure appreciation of the others company. on the other hand izuru and junko are living in the apocalypse where theres nobody else that could even begin to understand the boredom they experience.
chiaki tries to break hajime out of the cycle of negative self talk, to lead him away from the path of nihilism. junko is attempting to bring izuru fully into despair, to have him become like her, an agent of the apocalypse.
because izuru and junko both operate on attempting to satiate their boredom, they are intimately aware of how the others brain works. this is something which chiaki and hajime were unable to achieve. hajime couldnt understand chiakis own insecurity and chiaki couldnt understand why hajime couldn’t find self acceptance.
junko and izuru are the mirror world version of hajime and chiaki but that twisted nature of it feeds into how doomed chiaki was. her friendship with hajime was cut off prematurely, and her life ended not soon after. only in the NWP is their friendship able to truly thrive, and even then its forced to end too soon.
i find it to be a very underrated FOIL and it happens to be one of my favorite subtleties to danganronpa as a whole

A library is a different kind of social reality (of the three-dimensional kind), which by its very existence teaches a system of values beyond the fiscal [...] they are still a significant part of our social reality, the only thing left on the high street that doesn’t want either your soul or your wallet.

AU where Aaravos and Mage Fam (Claudia, Sir Sparklepuff, Terry and Viren) have a weird, toxic but strangely functional and if one were to leave out a few aspects of it almost 'wholesome' found and biological family dynamic after Aaravos is free and decides to keep them around.
Claudia is the happiest with this arrangement. 'Humanitys benefactor' is free, she has a cute homonculus half-brother, Terry and her are together and her father is alive and well. Even if Viren seems to be (momentarily as Aaravos insists) talking nonsense about how dark magic and Aaravos are bad for her.
Terry is not really sure what exactly is going on here, but Claudia keeps telling him how everything is perfect now. Claudia is happy, Viren is.. doing fine and Sparklepuff seems to be happy as well. He is not sure he likes this Aaravos guy but so far he has been nothing but helpful and beneficial. Besides, he has never felt so utterly accepted for who and what he is in his life.
Aaravos blames his admittedly long (not all that long if you consider how old he is then again if one were to look a human up with no outside connection or communication or stimulus he is sure to them a week would seem endless) time in isolation for the almost sentimental mood. He has had quite a few relations with quite a few people, especially humans, during his life time but never anything resembling what could be callled a 'family'. It could certainly provide to be a welcome distraction (and source of comfort after the years of loneliness but he would be damned again before honestly admitting that) and the apparent family of doing 'whatever it takes no matter how dangerous, no matter how vile' is not only something useful but also something that fits his own philosophy quite well. Besides, he has taken a liking to Virens reaction each time the.. relation between the two of them have been brought up.
Although Aaravos view on family would to anyone else be seen as more than a bit off and alarming considering how willing he was to have a being made partly with his own blood be sacrificed for a higher purpose.
Viren is the only one to openly see and understand how messed up their situation has become but no one really seems to understand. And each time he tries to do anything about it, Aaravos always comes up with a smile on his face. And now that the Elf is free things between the two of them have become even more.. complicated. Viren has no power in this dynamic and he knows it.
Sir Sparklepuff, blissfully ignorant of one of his 'fathers' being willing to sacrifice him at the turn of a hand, is just happy to be part of this. Claudia likes, him, Terry likes him, Viren likes him and Aaravos is amused by his very existence.
And all Viren can do as his daughter happily talks with Aaravos about what could end up being the end of Xadia as they knew it ('Oh, don't be so bleak about it, Viren. Don't you remember about how we used to talk about this and how you yourself called it 'a bright future for humanity'?' 'Yes, Dad, isn't this exactly what you always wanted?') with an Elf he knew he should keep at more of a distance than he was currently letting him (That sounds so great, Step-Dad. Oh, I am sorry. Can I call you step-dad' And Aaravos, that bastard, had just turned around, smiled at Viren in a way that made Viren like all of this was just some kind of game for Aaravos 'Sure, why not?')

Non-Royal AU where Wilhelm and Simon have been best friends for years. Doing everything together, sharing secrets, telling each other everything first. They were inseparable.
But one day, Marcus, Simon's boyfriend of four years decided to propose to him. Simon never really thought about it but didn't see any reason to say no. Besides that's what relationships are heading towards, right? So, he accepted it. There shouldn't be anything wrong but for some reason, it doesn't feel right.
Marcus and him knew each other because of their moms. He was a nice guy, a bit pushy at times, but nice. Simon can't find any fault in him, he's not even sure why he's looking for a fault but there wasn't anything, right? The only thing he really dislikes about him though is how he doesn't get along with his best friend. He doesn't get it. It starts fights sometimes, Simon really hates that Marcus doesn't even try to like him.
Like, who wouldn't love Wille? C'mon, he's the best person in the world. It should be a red flag if he's being honest. But obviously, Wille being the most amazing and perfect person that he is, tries to be accommodating and polite, even if Simon had the feeling that he dislikes Marcus, too. There's nothing he can do about that. He just hopes Marcus will try to like Wille at one point, if he doesn't, he's not sure if this would even work.
The day after, he of course told Wille about it. He's the first person he tells anything to and Wille congratulated him. Simon told Wille that he wants him to be his best man and excitedly talked about how he and Wille can plan it together. Wille responded appropriately, if not a little cold. Simon ignored this nagging feeling of something being wrong with Wille's smile. His bestfriend needs some space sometimes and he'll tell him whatever it is once he's ready.
He wasn't worried. Not at all.
Until... he never heard of him again.
He didn't know it yet but the next day, Simon sent a 'good morning' text to Wille as usual (he's always the first person he texts when he wakes up) but it wasn't going through. He was confused but figured it wasn't a big deal. He'll call him later.
After Simon finished work with still nothing from Wille, he decided to call him. "We're sorry you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." What the fuck. Simon was confused, he was literally just talking to him on the phone yesterday, like they do everyday. He shrugged it off, maybe Wille broke his phone or something, ignoring the feeling of something being very, very wrong.
He decided to visit him at his apartment and maybe tease him for being clumsy, pulling out the spare key that Wille gave him before. When the door opened, he found it empty. Not empty as in there was no one home, but the apartment was completely bare. As if no one had been there at all. The feeling intensified as he searched for answers, already on the verge of panicking.
Wille's neighbor popped out of his door, and was confused what Simon was doing there when Wille already moved out. Simon was even more confused, moved out? Since when? The neighbor helpfully informed him that he left yesterday, seemingly in a rush and didn't even bother organizing his things, just took everything and left. It must've been an emergency.
The neighbor looked at Simon, "I thought you'd know this already."
Simon felt as empty as the apartment he just left. "Yeah, I thought I would too."
Simon was worried now, wondering what might have happened.
He called Felice next, one of Wille's closest friends, asked if she knew something but she said that he hasn't talked to her. He called around too, all their mutual friends and even some that Simon dislikes but they all said the same thing. No one had any idea where Wilhelm had gone.
That night, Simon cried. He doesn't know what's going on. Where was his best friend, what happened to him? Is he okay?
Days passed, and turned to weeks. Simon felt miserable. It's like Wille took the life out of him and brought it with him. He just felt like crying at random times of the day, he doesn't really know what to do. He has never gotten separated from Wille before and certainly not with absolutely no contact.
Marcus and he had been fighting more because of that, with him accusing him of not even caring about their wedding preparations and honestly? The wedding is the least of his concerns right now. His best friend is missing. That's more important.
One day, he decided to talk to Felice to know if she had some news and caught her on her way to work. He didn't call out to her, seeing she's on the phone but waited until he noticed her.
"I know Wille, I'm so sorry". That caught Simon's attention and came closer.
"Is that Wille?" He accidentally yelled, startling Felice, who looked at him as if she's been caught doing something wrong.
"Well?" He doesn't care if he's rude at this point. If that's Wille, then he needs to speak to him no matter what.
"Uhh yeah. He just told me that he had some personal business which was why he left. He said it would be long before he can come back."
"Can I speak to him?"
"Sorry but he already hung up."
"Oh. Can you just give me his number? I'll call him instead."
"Um. Sorry, Simon but that's not his phone. He said he used someone else's because he doesn't have his." Felice had a hard time meeting his eyes and he pretended not to notice.
"Oh. Okay." Simon forced a smile and left, knowing she's hiding something. Simon wants to cry. What's going on?
He doesn't understand why Wille disappeared without a word, and why he's hiding like this. Did he commit a crime or something? Or is it his family? He knows that he has a complicated relationship with his family but what made him leave the life he had here?
And more importantly... why did Wille call Felice and not him?
He checked his phone. No missed calls or messages. He knows for a fact that Wille has his number memorized so why hasn't he called him?
Is he... avoiding him?
He goes through his days listlessly, doesn't even care about Marcus nagging at him. Like who cares if this or that needs to be done? What's the point of anything? What's even the point of having a wedding if Wille's not going to be there to be best man? Who cares at this point?
He's been so sad and irritable lately that his friends decided it was time to intervene.
"Speak. What is going on with you?" Rosh glared at him and he told her he just misses Wille.
"I understand that Simme but maybe he's just going through something. You said before that he needs space sometimes, right? You should give him that for now, focus on your wedding."
"Ugh. Why do people always have to bring that up? Am I not allowed to just be sad?"
"Simon, we're not saying you can't be sad but you're getting married in a couple of weeks and it seems like you're not even doing anything?"
"Wait, what? What date is it?"
"Bro, you're joking, right?'
"Uhh..."
"it's like you don't even care about getting married," Rosh laughed "it's a big thing you know?"
"Is it? It's not that big of a deal. Frankly, I'd rather not waste money on it. It's not that different to being in a relationship and living with someone right?"
Rosh and Ayub looked at him skeptically.
"Simon, why do you think people get married?"
"I don't know? Tax benefits?" His friends looked horrified. He doesn't understand. It's not like it means anything. His parents were married and look where that ended up. They still got divorced in the end, so it's nothing unlike dating and breaking up, right?
"Like, okay Simon. That's valid but I'm pretty sure you and Marcus will not be on the same page for that."
"What do you mean?"
"You're kidding, right? Do we really have to spell it out for you?" Rosh and Ayub looked at each other and Simon felt like being left out of a joke. "Please can you just hurry up and tell me. You're both being weird."
"Okay, see, most people get married because they want to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Through the good and the bad, all that shit. It's a promise. To be with each other, to laugh and cry together, hold each other through it all."
"Yeah, you have to be sure of the person because, again, you'll be spending your whole lives together. It has to be someone you love."
"And what does being in love mean?" His friends gave him another incredulous look but decided to humour him.
"Being in love is when you're yearning for someone, you know? You'd want to wake up next to them, you'd be happy just seeing their face, you think of them constantly, miss them when they aren't around and makes you feel unexplainable feelings that make you feel good and giddy. Things like that."
Oh. And that, Simon can understand.
"Do you get it now?"
"Yeah. I do."
"Really? Because I don't think you do."
"I do. I get it, I get what you said."
"Really? Explain it then."
"I mean I can't say it with a lot of words but it's like me and Wille."
"WHAT"
""Yeah, everything you just said, it's like me and Wille. I understand that now."
Speaking of Wille, where is he? Why did he leave? He should be here. Simon needs him to be here because he always makes him feel better. He needs to be here because Simon is worried and confused but Wille makes everything make sense. He should be here to hold him and smile at him and make him feel all kinds of feelings just being by his side, feelings he wouldn't mind having for the rest of his life. Because Wille always makes him happy.
He huffs angrily then sadly. All he wants is for him to see him again and then everything will be better. It's always better with Wille.
'Wille, please come back. I need you.'
"What?" Simon snapped out of his trance after Rosh called out to him for what doesn't seem like the first time.
"Simon, are you even hearing yourself right now?"
Oh. He said all of that outloud. Cool.
So what though? It's not like he said something untrue. Why did they look like that?
He looked to Ayub, hoping he had some answers.
"Bro, please. Just really think of everything you said and think of why you said what you did. Just think about it." He's almost begging at this point.
He tried. He went through everything he was just thinking of in detail. All thoughts of marriage and love and Wille and- something clicked. And seeing his friends' horrified looks, realization dawned on him.
Oh.
He's in love with Wille.
Fuck. What is he supposed to do now?

When you are not at home in your self, as a child, you don’t experience your self as “natural” or “inevitable” — as so many other people seem to do — and this, though melancholy at the time, can come with certain distinct advantages. Not to take yourself as a natural, unquestionable entity can lead you in turn to become aware of the radical contingency of life in general, its supremely accidental nature.
