If it’s the second I already see him passing by Silver’s room really excited and saying “YOU HAVE A BROTHER!” And zooming off, leaving a very confused Silver and thinking he refers to either Malleus or Sebek.

I have a bit of difficult time writing for Lilia given how much older he is than the rest of the cast, so I tend to write his Yuu as being a bit older themselves. Maybe they had an extremely difficult childhood and connected with Lilia over their shared sense of robbed innocence. Whatever it was I think this Yuu has a bit of a fascination with creatures of the night and a lot of their weirdo reputation within their community comes from kids telling each other that Yuu and Yutu are vampires. That makes me tempted to say Lilia! Yutu's real name is Alucard or Sebastian, something vaguely vampire themed.

None of those rumors are helped by Yutu finding himself very lethargic when out in the sunlight or his preference for colder temperatures. From his perspective he can't exactly help being who he is, people should really just get over themselves and let him do his thing. It's not his fault that bats really seem to like him for some reason, the neighbors are exaggerating Mr. Animal Control officer he swears.

Because he prefers to spend his awake hours in the dark, he is waaaaay too comfortable doing things and going places he shouldn't. He's real familiar with all the abandoned buildings and sketchy alleys of your town and has tagged quite a few of them. I like the idea of Lilia! Yutu being really interested in street art and Graffiti. I could see him putting up a bunch of bats everywhere and getting in a bunch of trouble for it. He has very fond memories of Yuu letting him paint murals on portions of their house in an effort to meet him halfway. He might like a good prank but unlike his father Yutu is always pulling his punches with Yuu.

Lilia didn't exactly have a supportive parent while he was growing up, something I feel like Yuu remembers and is very conscious of in their parenting of Yutu. Unfortunately for Lilia they also remember that he had another child and was a lot older than them, something Yutu raises several eyebrows at and causes him to ignore the things Yuu tries to tell him about his "great sense of humor" and "desire for different peoples to learn and grow with one another-" yeah that's great can you back up a bit to where you said he had another family? Yutu goes through life thinking he was the product of an affair Yuu had with a much older, married man who was just trying to feel young again. The amnesia stuff... sometimes he wonders if his dad tried to have Yuu killed. He never says it out loud because something tells him he's wrong, but gut feelings aren't as trustworthy as statistics...

So you can imagine his surprise when he tumbles out of a coffin and is told that his dad was a faerie general bound in service to a family of dragons, veteran of an ancient war, and technically the adoptive father of the Prince of the children of the night and the Prince of the rival human kingdom that killed his best friends. One of which is alive and overwhelmed with joy to meet him. Silver wanted Yutu almost as badly as Lilia and Yuu did so to see him alive and awkwardly squirming in his arms? Silver hasn't cried this much since they lost Lilia and Malleus.

Having a proper older brother, not just the concept, is an extreme change for Yutu. He's used to it just being him and Yuu, and he was sort of expecting Silver to hate him just for existing. Nothing could be further from the truth, Silver wants his younger brother to have the same freedoms he did while attending school but he also respectfully requests that Yutu spend at least some of his free time with him. He tried desperately to find his dreams over the years and was never able to make firm contact, but he doesn't want to pressure Yutu into caring about him. Yutu is didn't realize how badly he wanted other family members until he got to have Silver, he's even willing to take up sword fighting so they can get closer.

Sebek is also overwhelmed with tears upon seeing Lilia! Yutu. He is a bit harsh on him for "not living up to Master Lilia's legacy" because he doesn't know anything about fighting. He does applaud him for his willingness to learn. Yutu thinks Sebek is hilarious and messes with him just as much as Lilia does. Something Sebek is completely willing to let him do because it makes him feel like Lilia never left.

All of the Yutus get to see some of the photographs Yuu left behind, but Lilia! Yutu is especially interested in them. He makes a small photo album of all the ones he can find of his dad, especially ones where he's with Yuu and Silver. He's partially driven by guilt for thinking his father was a terrible person, but really he just wants to feel closer to him. He's half fae, and sure he has Sebek to talk about that with but what he really needs is a connection with his father. Yutu doesn't really care about being a faerie. He just cares about his dad's acceptance, everything else can go hang.

I don't have a name for his unique magic, but going off of anon's idea it allows him to overwhelm his target's mind, forcing them to think about their greatest fears to the point they are convinced they are really going through it. Someone hates spider? All over their face and in their clothes. Crippling fear of failure? Suddenly that emotion is all they can focus on. And if it's a mindless creature like a blot phantom or a monster they become overwhelmed with the sensation that they are unable to breathe and about to die. Yutu can't control the illusion the person experiences so usually he tries not to use it on his classmates.

That changes when he goes into the past. Some rando want to shit talk Yuu? Nightmare. Macho NRC guy wants to rumble? Nightmare. Some random guy jumped out from behind him and yells "BOO!" Nightma-

If Yutu had been just a hair slower he would have been in extreme pain, the dangerous glint in those familiar ruby eyes scream that. The short fae smiles almost cruelly, advancing on him clearly upset even though Yutu has dropped the spell.

"Well now, that's no way to great a senior." Lilia's voice is strangely soothing, it occurs to Yutu that this is probably the first time his father has ever been angry at him and he can't help himself. He laughs,

"Yeah sorry about that." He makes sure to try and be cute about it, which helps to diffuse the tension some what. "You really scared me so it was all I could think to do."

Lilia is very impressed by Yutu's reflexes and control over his unique magic. He is even further impressed by how eager Yutu is to train with Silver. The kid has some real promise and fits into Silver and Sebek's dynamic better than Lilia could have dreamed of. He really hopes the two will benefit from having a relatively normal human friend their age to train with. Maybe he and Yuu will stick around and give him some piece of mind about the kids being in good hands when he's gone.

Yutu hanging around Diasomnia gives him an excuse to chat with Yuu more, not that he exactly needed it. Lilia sort of hates the way he's drawn to you, it feels unfair. Unfair to you to give you hope there could be something more and toy with your affections; unfair to him for life to finally allow him to realize what romantic love is like just in time to have to let it go. There is a bittersweet tone to all of your interactions that his housemates are a bit too socially awkward to pick up on but Cater does.

Yutu is surprised how much he likes Cater, he associates him with a terrifying monster he's had to fight multiple times, not a fun guy who is really determined to help his parents get together. And what's even better he's really chill when Yutu asks for stories about Lilia, he has a lot of them and a completely different perspective than his older brother allowing Yutu to glean some more insight to what his parents might have been thinking in the future.

He finds himself spending a lot of time with the pop music club, not as an official member though he's not great at carrying a tune. Kalim, Cater, and Lilia are glad to have another person to chill with, sometimes they'll play music and Yutu will draw something based off whatever noise they made. Cater wants to talk him into doing album art for them... you know if they ever get around to making a recording.

I think Yutu will only tell Lilia who he is if he has no choice. He wants to mess with the timeline as little as possible, but should a monster from his timeline appear in this one, say like an overblotted Yuu another asker was so nice as to bring up, well it's not like he says who he is. He just addresses the monster as his parent and has a very loud meltdown not wanting to fight them again. Something Malleus is more than willing to assist him with.

"Think nothing of it." Malleus's power is truly terrifying, Yutu is torn between sorrow that he wasn't on their side and relief he didn't overblot a second time. "You are Lilia's son yes? That makes you my subject, and a most precious one at that." Not that Yutu has avoided interacting with Malleus exactly, he's just found talking to him exceptionally awkward because well. He's not Yuu, he's very aware of how important Malleus is supposed to be. But the way he's looking at him now makes him think that maybe he was missing out on interacting with another older brother.

Something that's confirmed when he turns to see how big his father's eyes have gotten, the man is shaking as he stares at his face and flicks between him, Malleus, and Silver like he's staring at the most precious pieces of art in the whole universe.

As you brought up Lilia's survival isn't guaranteed, I did not solve that problem at all. I sort of just... wrote that Lilia would age more or less like a normal human and not really be able to use magic on par with what a fae would consider normal but would still be impressive to a human... so while Lilia might be a bit reluctant to show his face in Briar Valley he would still have enough years to have and raise Yutu. He might have actually died around the same time as Yuu if they had lived a normal life.

He is overwhelmingly excited at the thought of having another baby. Lilia might not know what to do with them but he does really like kids. What's harder for him to accept is his relationship with Yuu. Raising a child is something he's done before, being someone's long term partner is not. He is unused to feeling desirable, and unfamiliar with acting on his own desires. Sure Lilia might seem very free spirited, but much of his life has been dictated by a sense of duty. The thought of having something precious to him that chose him specifically of their own free will is... disarming. He's overwhelmed with how helpless you make him feel and how little he despises it.

Yutu's need to be accepted by his father is met and exceeded almost immediately. Lilia wants to cook a big family dinner for Yuu and all of his boys, something that Malleus politely rejects asking if he can instead show his Culinary Crucible skills off to Yutu (it's really so he can make babiest brother promise to never eat anything Paw Paw makes EVER) and it's all so normal Yutu almost forgets that he's listening to a practical god smugly tell him he knows all about edible weeds as his father flies around him cracking jokes and pinching his cheeks. His older brother is asleep on the couch waiting for the food to be done and his precious parent is helping his Uncle Sebek set the table, listening to him sniffle about how beautiful Master Lilia's family is.

Lilia might be practically retired, but his mind is still sharp. The information Yutu is able to pass on to him lands in good hands. When he tucks Yutu into bed that night, long after the boy has gone to sleep so as not to embarrass him he makes sure to take a good long look at the little miracle. He is beyond grateful Yutu exists, not even the Thorn Fairy could have given him a finer blessing (he'll have to make sure to tease you about that later, that's got to be a good pick up line) He will make sure that this risk his son has taken pays off, Lilia Vanrouge wasn't feared for no reason. Something it seems some foolish mortals need reminding of.

Coma dream

Luigi (and possibly Mario if you wanted to add him to the mix) has gotten everything he wants. A loving husband, great kids and a kingdom of people who adore him. Then one day during a fight with king boo, he wakes up in a hospital bed in Brooklyn to his family yelling cries of relief.

He'd been in a coma for years apparently, after an accident happened on their plumbing job. The timeline is the exact same as his time in Bowser's world which makes him question weather any of it really happened or it was all a Dream? he tries so hard to convince himself that dream was all it was, But there are signs that it wasn't just a dream:

He still has thunderhand, he's tougher than any human should be, stronger too. The bite mark from Bowser is still on his shoulder. He tries to tell his family but of course they don't believe him.

It all comes to head and Luigi runs off right as Bowser who has been freaking the fuck out about what happened to his husband arrives in Brooklyn looking for him, causing a massive panic.

Wonderful reunion ensues.

SAO Type au

King boo wants to play a game, so he plucks the souls of every player from a new full dive vr game that he created and drops them into his world. The players can go anywhere in this world they want, but the only way home is threw the tower of heaven type death dungeon he's created. No one who goes in comes out, and SAO rules still apply - die in the game, die IRL.

after hearing that, most players decide to make the most of their lives in the game world. Several fall in love, and even a few have children's.

Of course Boo finds this incredibly boring and unsatisfying so he pulls the remaining players and forces them to battle hoards of nigh unkillable monsters until only a few parties of players remain.

After an epic showdown, king Boo is defeated and their souls are returned to their body with all of the skills and knowledge they had during the game.

Form there both the players who returned home and the people they loved in the world they were forced to leave behind work to reunite while facing criticism and disbelief from their families in the 'real world.'

He decided to just answer sincerely. "Yeah! Or at least, I've watched SAO and that was pretty good…" Another failed interaction, John could tell immediately.

At least he was starting to remember the list of conversation starters he'd googled. He chose one at random. "Hey, so, what's your favourite film?" Film? Who said film??

Dirks posture shifted, a subtle thing, but John knew he'd finally managed to hit an actual interest of his.

Dirk almost smiled. He said, "the best movie of all. A masterpiece of art, called: Human Centipede."

Ah. John was definitely getting murdered tonight.

"Unironically," Dirk clarified quickly, as if that made it any better. Against all logic, he kept going. "The costume design was a highlight, but I like it for the plot."

Well, it'd been a few years since John saw the movie. Maybe he was misremembering something. "Uh- tell me what the plot's about!"

Dirk leaned closer, over the table. "German doctor sews three people ass-to-mouth."

Not what he'd been hoping to hear. "Cool!" John managed, his voice way too high. That definitely had to be a red flag, as if everything else wasn't… he really didn't want to get stabbed.

"Human Centipede is a tour de force," Dirk continued, and surely he knew John was clueless as to what the hell that meant? "I admire the narrative of character growth."

This was the last straw. Maybe John should've said that several straws ago, but he needed to get out. Why did he leave his phone in the car?? It wasn't romantic- that was dangerous! Without any better options, or at least none that John could think of, he tried blinking in Morse code while staring directly at the waiter.

"Why are you blinking so much?" Dirks tone was innocent enough, but clearly John had been obvious if Dirk had actually stopped his rambling to point it out.

"I've got something in my eye!" John improvised quickly.

"Here, let me get it out-,"

John didn't know what Dirk was about to do, but he backed up in his chair so fast it screeched against the floor. "No thank you!"

"Bonjour."

John jumped way too badly when the waiter visited their table.

"Sir was blinking at me- is this because your date is a freak?"

He was just gonna say it like that?? Obviously John had to deny, and was forced to watch helplessly as the waiter shrugged and left them to it.

Dirk tilted his head slightly, and John felt like he was seeing into his soul.

"Stop hiding behind your- silly made-up red flag," Dirk suggested, and John winced. had he been that obvious? "Take a chance on the best relationship we've never had."

"M-maybe you're right," John admitted, forcing a deep breath. "And I'm just looking for excuses…" This was silly, really. Everything they'd been through, and this was the thing to make him uncertain? "I'm- a bit fucked up, but…" John hesitated, all too aware of Dirks gaze on him. "I think I'm ready to choose- whatever this ends up as."

Wei Wuxian had yet to kill anyone in this death game, but the moment he could get his hands on Wen Chao, he’d wring his neck. He wouldn’t use his sword or any talismans, anything from his stats. Only his raw strength. He’d make him feel all the artificial pain until it burned.

His health bar wasn’t looking like he’d get a chance to confront Wen Chao, however.

It looked disappointingly like he was going to die in this boss fight. At least Jiang Cheng and the others had made it out. They could retry this fight after they’d gone a couple levels up. Wei Wuxian had no idea whether the level reset once they die, but if it didn’t, maybe he should empty out his storage, not that he had anything particularly useful in there.

“How are you, Lan Zhan?”

His companion sat as still as he had for the last hour. His health bar was only slightly better than Wei Wuxian’s, courtesy of Gusu’s stat boost the sect’s members got whenever they adhered to their rules or something, Wei Wuxian honestly didn’t know. Yunmeng came with a wicked weapons’ skill he’d abused nearly to the point of breaking game mechanics.

Maybe he should’ve gone with the Nie to get their berserker skill. That could’ve saved them, maybe.

“Lan Zhan,” Wie Wuxian called out again. “Are you done ignoring me yet?”

Lan Zhan exhaled. “I have not been ignoring you.”

Wei Wuxian grinned. “That’s what it looked like from here. So, you got a plan for how you want to spend your last hours?”

Lan Zhan’s face twitched only barely. You had to hand it to Wen Crop., they knew their shit. The neural transfer was near perfect.

“We will not die here.”

“We’re more than just a couple missions away from getting enough experience to fight the Xuanwu of Slaughter,” Wei Wuxian replied drily. “While I think Yunmeng’s motto is very encouraging, I’m not an idiot.”

No, they’d die here, in a plot irrelevant side-mission because fuck Wei Wuxian especially, apparently.

A whole year of this hell already and this was how Wei Wuxian would die, stuck in a terrible cave with a worse monster, without ever hugging his family close again. He wanted to cry, but the reaction wouldn’t do anything to fix his mental state.

“We can make up the lack of experience,” Lan Zhan said.

Wei Wuxian blanked. “What?”

Lan Zhan looked into the direction of the Xuanwu of slaughter before nodding confidently. “Marriage.”

Usually, Wei Wuxian found Lan Zhan’s carefully curated sentences hilarious, but he wasn’t following. “What do you mean?”

“Marriage allows spouses to share a skill,” Lan Zhan elaborated and activated his menu, pulling guqin strings from his storage.

Yeah, Jiang Cheng knew that. The ability sounded better than it was however, because it essentially only allowed one partner to borrow a skill while the other had to go without—

“My weapons’ proficiency,” Wei Wuxian said. “You want it to what? Enhance the strings?”

“I think with the boost, my chord assassination could do significant damage.”

It was absolutely insane. Wei Wuxian exceled and these types of games because he had great instinct and was pretty quick at his math. He could calculate in a split second how much damage he’d need to deal and running his numbers, he could only come to one conclusion.

“It won’t be enough,” Wei Wuxian said. “Not that alone.”

“Mn.” Lan Zhan looked like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop, which wasn’t fair at all. Wei Wuxian enjoyed being a step ahead. “You can use my purification bonus.”

Right, that was what Gusu granted him. Pretty useful on nighthunts, even if slightly too defensive for Wei Wuxian’s tastes.

Still, laughter bubbled up his throat. “Sure, we can try that. Until death does us part, Lan Zhan?”

Lan Zhan grimaced, as much as Lan Zhan deigned to show such an expression anyway, and sent the marriage request. The pop-up window looked like a joke, all hearts and cutesy bunnies kissing. It was a miracle that Lan Zhan had sent a request like that. Wei Wuxian shuddered to think what the other marriage request pop up windows looked like if Lan Zhan chose that one.

“You can’t divorce me after this,” Wei Wuxian said. “We’d end up with a month-long penalty.”

- Reminding Bubby of the times he trusted somebody else to keep him safe and they were successful seems to do the trick. Essentially bringing up times where he was more vulnerable with the team but it turned out well helps him come back to his senses. Perhaps a little kissaroo from Coomer might help.

these are what i think one piece characters' middle school phases would be (technically some of them are out of middle school, but it was the same era, so it counts):

luffy - warrior cats. it started in elementary and lasted for YEARS. the household suffered too bc luffy listened to the audiobooks w out headphones.

zoro - the first 2 1/2 arcs of sao and then all of inuyasha. he has a thing for magic swords and angry men.

nami and usopp - mlp. they both really liked rarity.

sanji - creepypasta. slenderman was why he started wearing suits. he was also really into grey's anatomy.

Idea for the Merccury is Ozpin au! During on of their fights, maybe the hevan or old lady in shoe (Forget her name sorry) fight, Mercury ends up saying Kirito's lines from SAO abridged episode 8 at 14:14. During that, he forgets the others are still watching and can hear everything he is saying.

“Weiss!” Everyone screamed as Weiss had taken a spear, Mercury was shocked by this enough to the point his fight with Hazel was halted. He shouldn’t care about this, and yet he felt something in his snap.

‘Mercury, don’t.’ Oz said in his mind, already having a feeling what might be happening soon, and yet he did nothing to stop it.

Mercury’s only response to him was to grit his teeth. ‘Can it old man, she’s had this coming for too long.’

Within an instant Mercury had kicked Hazel hard enough to send him flying into a statue, before making his way to Cinder. “Cinder!” He’d screamed as approached her.

This has caught Cinder off guard, but she’s brought her sword up to slash downward at Mercury. She wasn’t at all surprised that he’d caught her attack on one of his arm’s braces.

“So the wayward son finally comes home?” Cinder taunted as Mercury grit his teeth.

He had only sighed in response to Cinder’s taunting, before he began to speak. “You know something, I really hate people.”

Cinder smirked, a retort to what he had said was already forming on her tongue, but she was soon met with him tossing her swords aside; Mercury had followed that up with a gainer kick to send her flying.

Within moments Mercury had kicked her again before she could even touch the ground. “They’re selfish!” The neck kick came, and was followed by a shot from his boots gun portion.

“Ignorant!” He’d jumped up in the air this time, propelled by the wind dust he always used, to grab Cinder’s face and headbutt her as they hit the ceiling.

“Loud obnoxious pricks!” He still held onto her as they descent, but he used more wind dust to send them flying down with Cinder at the bottom so she’d take all the kinetic force from the impact.

“With basically no redeeming qualities whatsoever!” Cinder knew she could have used her maiden powers at any point to counter him, and yet she was paralyzed from doing so with every hit he’d landed on her.

“I mean really look at all they’ve achieved! Genocide, classism, reality tv! It’s just a never ending parade of failures, and fuck ups!” Mercury brought his boot down on Cinder’s face destroying her mask, revealing her damaged face to the world.

“They are, without question, a complete write off of a species;” he’d lifted her up by her collar and punched her face until her aura had broken, and his fist started to get bloody, “and how dare you make me care about them!”

Cinder had gained enough of her wits to conjure a blade to stab into Mercury just as he brought his foot up to send her flying again, right at Raven’s feet.

One of the other aspects of the Earth Kingdom AU that makes it stand out from the others

Is that in this AU with the whole 'I shot Azula in the Face' incident Azula is, for obvious reasons, blind in one eye. And she's still a world leader in the making. In a world where there's been 100 years of war, she's the first world leader to be poised to take a throne with visible disabilities, so by virtue of her presence and her position she actually ends up making life better for a great many people in the Earth Kingdom.

Her presence forces the issue to the forefront during the war, and inadvertently ends up greatly strengthening the Earth Kingdom in unexpected ways because the symbolic impact of a leader who by virtue of not-exactly-choice gets people to change to accommodate people and deal with the topic in better ways means that people who were hitherto in the 'to be dealt with after the war, maybe' start seeing measurable improvements, as much as the war allows, during it.

So as far as the Earth Kingdom is concerned by virtue of symbolism and a presence that creates both a conversation and practical results, she's in a strange position of 'ew Firebender and of the House of Sozin at that' and 'holy shit people actually like us and like our government helping them what is this sorcery' and for disabled people 'a ruler who's actually helping us instead of trying to forget we exist? Fuck yes!'

It also means that in this AU, one of the many people whose lives change dramatically when Zheng Yi Sao of Omashu makes her debut as Bumi's heir in a pattern that ripples through the war and much moreso afterward happens to be one Toph Beifong, whose parents can't justify locking her in a gilded cage when a Princess of a literal kingdom is one-eyed and able to live just fine (for a certain definition of just fine) that way.

Azula/Zheng Yi Sao has four years of making this change and attitude shift roll through parts and eventually very large parts of the Earth Kingdom, magnified by her career in this AU in fighting for the Earth Kingdom as well giving her a reputation in more than just her title. By the time the war is over, she will end up as popular in the Earth Kingdom as she is in the canonical Fire Nation, which all starts because her very presence means people can't ignore the war-wounded (which from a certain POV she already qualified as before the war) the way they used to.

Unlike some of the other AUs she's very much still the Princess and in a sense this is the most strict role reversal of them all. Earth Kingdom Princess Azula fighting the Fire Nation and aspiring Fire Lord claimant Zuko fights for the Fire Nation and against it in a kind of revolving door, Santa Anna-style, until he finally sticks with the against it category.

GIVE us the Tododeku AU content sis

OKAY GOOD now I have an actual excuse to just word dump on y’all. Okay.

I literally have at least 10 Tododeku AUs all floatin around in the good ol thinking chamber but! One of the ones I’ve been thinking about a LOT is a fairy AU. Basically this is the second half of SAO season 1 but it’s actually Good and does not take place in a virtual world, it’s all real. That’s literally it LMAO

So everybody is a fairy!! Because I’m a slut for fairy AUs! They all have pointy ears and wings and it’s peak character design because I said so. A lot of fairies can use elemental magic, which is sorted into 6 distinct categories: wind, fire, earth, water, holy, and dark elements. This is further split up by weapons that fairies can use to fight monsters, each other, etc. There’s classes of weapons, which are sorted into: swords, dual swords/blades, rods, bows, daggers, rapiers, and maces. All of these are infused with magic. Quirks are divided into elements in this AU, and are referred to as magic. (I’m literally stealing all of this from SAO MD. Thank you MD for a good battle system I can actually use in an AU lmao)

The AU takes place after everything big has happened. At this point Izuku’s already known worldwide as the hero who saved them all from All For One, and who inherited All Might’s power. He’s been on his world saving quest already! So he knows everybody. He’s really close with Iida, Uraraka, Bakugou, Kirishima, and Todoroki especially. And of course, Toshi, who is his main father figure.

Because I love what we were already given in the standard BNHA fantasy AU, Todoroki is a prince, and is a very special type of elemental because he’s a dual type, which are literally as rare as rare can get. Elementals are already pretty rare as they come, so the fact that he has TWO (fire and water) is pretty incredible. This gains him a lot of unwanted attention on top of being a prince, and he hates it. Thanks to Izuku not knowing how to keep his nose out of other people’s business, he manages to literally save Todoroki from his own fate, fixes (most of) his issues with Endeavor, and allows Todoroki to accept his own power and abilities. (So, like in canon, p much.) It does not take long for Todoroki to fall head over heels in love with Izuku. Izuku has a massive crush on him as well. They’ve kinda been dancing around each other for months since they saved the world. Bakugou is literally sick of them beating around the damn bush and can’t stand to be in a room with both of them LMAO

Now as for how the AU actually begins—Todoroki wakes up at the crack of dawn to find Yaomomo barging into his room to give him an urgent letter from Toshi. Todoroki reads it and promptly flips his shit because Izuku has apparently been kidnapped by All For One (“I THOUGHT WE KILLED THAT FUCKER???”) Todoroki goes on a rampage and immediately goes to meet up with Toshi and the rest of Class 1-A to figure out what the hell is going on.

Toshi reveals that while Izuku has been kidnapped apparently the villains have no intention to harm him (Bakugou: BULLSHIT.) As a sort of last hurrah because he’s literally on his last leg, AFO decided to set up this little quest for the entire world to participate in, and Izuku has basically become the prize. AFO announces that Izuku’s been taken to the top of the World Tree—the center of the world, the thing that brings all life, and is said to be literally IMPOSSIBLE to scale because people have tried and nobody has ever made it to the top before. (There’s an anti-flying, unbreakable magic barrier around it, go figure.) AFO says that Izuku, the world’s hero, is willingly cooperating in this operation (which is obviously a lie but. Yeah). AFO proposes a competition—whoever can make it to the top of the World Tree will be granted all of his riches, power, and fame, AND will be given the privilege to have Izuku’s hand in marriage.

Literally everyone goes into shock at that because there is no doubt that the whole fucking world is gonna be going after this. As a chance to get famous or get money or because they want a shot at becoming Hero Deku’s spouse—there will be THOUSANDS of fairies trying to get to the top of the World Tree. Todoroki literally has a nervous breakdown and a very intense panic attack right then and there because he loves Izuku so much, SO MUCH, more than anybody else, and Izuku’s going to be married off like he’s some object and not a person, and if Todoroki doesn’t make it to him first he’ll lose him. He will literally lose the love of his life and the whole group has to take a good twenty minutes to calm him down.

Bakugou says he’s obviously going to make it to the top first—not for Izuku, not for the fame and riches either, but just because he wants to be the first, because he wants to prove that he can. Uraraka and Iida immediately tell Todoroki they’ll back him up all the way. The whole group is like “UH YEAH WE’RE GOING TO GET MIDORIYA” and decide to split into smaller sections and all try to get up to the top in their own ways. THEN THE RACE BEGINSSSSS

Meanwhile Izuku is determined to be the WORST house guest ever because while AFO might have literally blackmailed him into agreeing to this deal (AFO threatened to burn down half of the world’s cities and kill his mother and Toshi and Izuku doesn’t doubt he will because he knows that AFO knows where Toshi and his mom are. Oof) Izuku is not required to just sit patiently and be a good boy and be nice. AFO has him all dressed up in super fancy clothing and has all of the villains treat Izuku like a fairy king but Izuku acts like the worst little shit and it’s so fucking funny. While he essentially throws a tantrum and threatens to break AFO’s spine in half he’s secretly really really worried because? He doesn’t want to get married off, what the fuck? He at least hopes that some of his friends will try to come for him but he knows he should really depend more on himself than on them. But part of him really, really hopes that Todoroki will try to get to him first, and not just because he wants to save him. (Izuku: If Shouto gets here first that means he’ll have the right to marry me...would he actually do it, though?)

So the rest of it is just. Todoroki and the others making their way up the World Tree, battling off any potential suitors, Iida and Uraraka preventing Todoroki from disemboweling anybody who makes stakes on Izuku, them solving puzzles and fighting monsters and! Lots of fun stuff as they go up. It’s a good time. Izuku is not having a good time but he’s determined to make the villains’ life a living hell if it’s the last thing he’ll do and Aizawa would be SO proud of him. Todoroki is seething for 80% of this AU. 10% he’s Big Anxiety about someone reaching Izuku first, and the other 10% is him being massively gay for Izuku. It’s the perfect spicy combo

Finally binging Marvel’s What If…? Here’s my thoughts so far.

Episode 1:

Continuation is a must have.

I realize that like the tall Resident Evil vampire lady, the reason I didn’t know I needed a woman like Captain Carter is because media doesn’t usually give us women built like her. This should change.

Episode 2:

I must know what happened to Rocket and Groot in this universe. I was so sure they’d appear in the Collector’s collection. Gamora being MIA is sus too.

Star-Lord T’challa Thanos is the only valid Thanos. Also seeing him getting his shit kicked in by his own former employees was hilarious.

Honestly gonna be sad when I see this batch of characters again and get reminded this was just an AU.

Also continuation is a must have.

Episode 3:

You know, I kinda thought Loki was gonna join the new version of the Avengers. And then his address to his new subjects happened. Damn.

Wait actually, why didn’t Fury contact Captain Marvel for the original Avengers? Was that something covered in her movie?

Also haven’t gotten to the Ant Man movies yet, so idk what specifically happened here that made Hank Pym go evil.

Speaking of…eh, wasn’t feeling the “it was evil Hank Pym all along” explanation. For the exploration of the Avengers systemically getting murdered before they can form, I guess I expected something else. Actually for awhile I thought the twist was that Loki was doing it; either ‘cause he knew what was gonna happen or he spied on Earth first an got intel or something else.

Episode 4:

Man I really hoped sane!Strange was gonna win.

Also Dr. Strange is another Marvel movie I skipped at first so I have no idea who Christine is or what happened to her in the main timeline.

Episode 5:

The number of universes Hank Pym has personally ruined in the name of family is now two. I expect this number to raise.

Also number of universes Tony Stark has died in…four since he wouldn’t gone out with Episode 4’s universe, too.

Honestly having a hard time with the super zombies here. Guess it just feels off that they retain their skills.

Also that cape did a number on five super zombies. Why the hell has cape just been sitting on the rack when cape could’ve just ended the whole apocalypse with that kind of power?

Oh wait I forgot to add this earlier but what even actually happened. What change in the universe caused the quantum virus? What does it even do? Idk I was kinda expecting every change in the timeline to get highlighted in the same obvious fashion as the Captain Carter one. And there could’ve been many different routes they could’ve taken to reach “zombie apocalypse”.

My mind was all over the place with this one; I was so engrossed. Damn. What a savage evil plan. Where did Killmonger even get the idea?

Also of course Shuri figured out the truth. Wish they explained how and why a bit more, if only as her flexing.

Episode 7:

FINALLY! ROCKET MAKES AN APPEARANCE! Please tell me it’s not just a silent cameo…

Oh my god I love the chemistry between this Thor and Loki. “I couldn’t tell you. It’ll ruin the magic.” with that tone and pose…fantastic.

Love the idea of the whole galaxy being so terrified of Frigga they’ll clean up a whole planet for her.

Just as I was thinking of how I hoped this Thor and Jane’s relationship would work out better than the main verse…ULTRON?!

Also I am dying to know how Rocket ended up in Jane’s apartment. Please give me fanfics of that. And of Rocket and Groot in the Star Lord T’Challa universe, actually. And in the zombie verse. And on every verse.

Episode 8:

The Tony Stark death counts goes up. Also how did the Avengers not get the cradle? Bet it was Hank Pym’s fault again.

Also love the “Ultron is actually the true major threat of the MCU he just got cut off early enough” thing. Hate that it came at the cost of Rocket and Groot and Mantis. Didn’t even get to see them on screen…

Also love that juxtaposition of the Watcher narrating as Ultron realizes there’s a fourth wall. Reminds me of SAO Abridged Episode 2. And looks like not even the Watcher knows what he’s about to narrate until he’s reading it. Nice.

Natasha’s got a shield. Clint’s got a robo arm. They’re Captain Apocalypse and End of the World Soldier.

CLIFFHANGER?! REALLY?! Also what happened to Party Thor universe, I must know. And does that mean we’re reaching a season finale? What’re the rest of the episodes gonna look like from here on out?
