i use this site

what ur gonna do is

get the html codes for whatever color(s) you want your text to be

put those codes where it says 'value="#FF0000"' and 'value="00FF00"'

the first one is gonna be the first color nd then the second one will be the second

once you put those codes in, ur gonna hit the 'run' button at the top left of the screen

then ur page is gonna refresh and in the bottom right corner, ur gonna see a blank box with your two colors next to it, then a run button and another blank box underneath it

your gonna put whatever text you wish in the top box, and then click run

and in the bottom box some code should show up idk what it is but copy it

then ur gonna come to tumblr

put the exact same first text and then go into the html settings

then ur gonna highlight your text from the html side

and then ur gonna just paste the code that you got from the first site

I love Lobelia's redemption at the end. Something about showing the difference between true evil and just everyday curmudgeonry. It's like no, this old woman is not evil. Even if her son became evil, even if she and Bilbo didn't get along, this old woman is not evil. She is just like anyone else, and when evil did come, she got trampled by it even worse than some who were arguably "better" people. Poor Lobelia. I hope her last few years were kind to her.

Mercy is extended to everyone. Sometimes it’s easier to forgive the evil than the annoying, but Tolkien offers mercy to them both.

I think the line “she had never in her life been popular” sums up everything about Lobelia. I imagine she’d experienced so much hurt and rejection over the years that she’d eventually shut down and stopped trying, just looking out for herself and no one else. Was some of her pain self-inflicted? Possibly. But there’s a hobbit under all that anger and hurt, and she doesn’t deserve love any less than anyone else.

a list of a bunch of random headcanons under the cut because I finally have dio’s carrd updated enough that I’m comfortable sharing all of these.

I headcanon that Lolthsworn drow due to Lolth’s more ‘demonic’ influence are the more monstrous elf race (sharper teeth, possible black sclera, possible reflective eyes, thicker claw-like nails, the ability to hiss like a lizard/snake/cat) and these features are both highly prized (especially by nobles) and seen as very attractive. Dionisia is no exception to this. Their teeth look similar to this reference image, they have black sclera, and their nails are hardier then typical nails.

When angry or using inferred vision their eyes turn from natural mulberry (#4C0121) to amaranth red (#DA012D). Their eyes also turn yellow orange (#FFAE42) when sick, poisoned, or under negative magical effects.

Their facial scars are from the first time they tried to come to the surface. The town folk carved their face and beat them before throwing them back down into the Underdark because they though Dio was a raid party scout. It is something they barely survived and is the reason it took them almost another ten (10) years before they went to the surface again.

Their hate of feet actually stems from them suffering from boot rot/trench foot the last few months before they reached the surface and was able to get proper medical help from a cleric in the underground temple they crawled out of. It’s something they are very careful about now during current adventures since they have more knowledge about how to avoid it.

Due to breaking their hand when they were younger, Dio is fully ambidextrous. Their dominate hand remains their right hand though.

Their favorite animals are lizards, frogs, and ravens.

Their skin color is pretty much the html color/hex #312C70. A darker blue with the slightest purple undertone.

Their favorite color is black. 90% of the clothing they own is black regardless of verse. They also prefer silver over gold accessories as gold is more easily poisoned.

The mind flayer tadpole has made it impossible for Dionisia to use their magical tattoos and they are very frustrated by that.

Speaking of tattoos, Dio has gotten all of her tattoos done by the same father-son duo. They were gnomes from Waterdeep named Zanpip and Davwin Grindlight. The son (Davwin) died of old age about 7 years before the events of Baldur’s Gate 3. Dio got her last tattoo about 20 years prior to Davwin’s death.

Their glasses of sunlight sensitivity, bottomless flask, and haversack of holding were also purchased in Waterdeep from Zanpip’s wife (named Tillwill) that was an artificer.

Dionisia’s tent setup in camp looks kinda like this image. Their tent can also do the poncho thing. This is because they hate the time it takes to set up larger tents.

While traveling Dionisia always seems to have pipe weed + tobacco, primer almond brandy, trail mix, and dried Underdark mushrooms on them. If asked why, they’ll tell you it’s because they are to old to not have or leave behind ‘creature comforts’.

The amount of time Dionisia has spent in Waterdeep is fairly large because of their dealings in Skullport.

If they ever left Baldur’s Gate for good they’d move to Waterdeep. They have a lot of amazing memories there and several promising deals with different guilds.

Dionisia is mostly known in several circles as an urban bounty hunter for hire but they also do investigations, shipment guarding, assassinations, and a few thieving related jobs (heists, fishing, shills, burglaries) for those who know to ask and can pay the proper coin.

They take a weekly dose of a nasty concoction of Underdark mushrooms and moss that keeps any potential psionics from manifesting in them. During the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, they took it only once (early during act 1) and it made the brain worm freak out causing Dio to have a rather severe nose bleed for about an hour and a horrible headache for several days after.

Morning: A “Seven Years Later” Story

Following a nasty accident, Rheneas was finally back in service, and Skarloey could still hardly believe his eyes.

The sun was just beginning to rise over Crovan’s Gate sheds. It was a crisp autumn morning, the chill only broken by the smoke and steam from the old engine waiting outside, the light from the sunrise glinting off of his shiny blue paint.

Skarloey had already been steamed up and readied for work — he did have the first passenger train of the day, after all. He was sat just outside the shed while his driver went to fetch something — Skarloey hadn’t been listening well enough to know what exactly she’d gone for — and his fireman took the time to enjoy another cup of coffee in his cab.

Being parked the way he was, he was face-to-face with Rheneas. He knew it was silly of himself to think so, but he still couldn’t believe Rheneas was really there. Of course, logically, he knew that he was, but it was still so surreal to him.

He couldn’t help but stare at the sleeping engine in front of him; he looked so peaceful and relaxed like this. Cute, even. It was a stark contrast to his usually serious demeanor, but whatever side of him, Skarloey had missed him terribly over the last several years. It hardly seemed true that he was even still alive.

Just glad to have him around again, he simply looked, in awe of him.

Rather suddenly and without opening his eyes, Rheneas spoke. “Did you need something, ‘Lo?”

Skarloey was startled. “Rheneas! I — I didn’t know you were awake!” He felt his face grow warm, embarrassed at being caught staring. “How did you know it was me?”

Rheneas smirked and opened a sleepy eye. “I know what your idling sounds like, silly.” He chuckled a bit at Skarloey’s flushed face and opened both of his eyes to properly address him. “Are you alright?”

The question wasn’t unfounded. Skarloey had been acting strangely recently, especially in the few weeks since Rheneas’s proper return to service. Rheneas had been curious, but he decided to leave it for now and let him take his time with it.

And he was sure taking his time with it.

“Yes, I’m fine.” Skarloey smiled. “I’m just waiting for my driver.”

Although Rheneas wasn’t as good at reading emotions as Skarloey was, he knew him well enough to know that he was not as fine as he claimed. Rheneas let his eyes slip back closed before responding. He spoke gently, but firmly. “Well, if something is bothering you, you can always tell me. You know that, right?”

Rheneas felt him wheesh a little bit of steam at him in acknowledgement.

Then it was quiet, save for the steady sound of Skarloey idling.

He eventually spoke up. “I saw you.”

Rheneas opened his eyes again, a confused look on his face.

So, Skarloey continued. “Earlier. Just after the accident. I saw you.” He grimaced. “I saw what was left of you, anyway.” He wasn’t looking at him anymore; the memory was too upsetting.

Oh. Rheneas didn’t know what he expected him to say, but it wasn’t that. It took him a moment to find words. “I take it that it wasn’t pretty.”

Skarloey only met his eyes again, looking very troubled.

Rheneas didn’t know what he should say to him, or even what he could say to him. He knew what had happened to himself too, and for Skarloey to have seen him in such a state? He could only imagine what that was like for him.

Then, Skarloey felt a hand pat the side of his cab; his driver had returned. “Come on, old girl. Let’s go pick up the coaches now, yeah?”

Skarloey looked from her back to Rheneas, who could see the hesitancy on his face.

“Well, go on then.” Rheneas smiled encouragingly. “You’ve got a train to pull, and I’ll still be here when you get back, I promise. Don’t you worry about that.”

Skarloey smiled gratefully at this, and he let himself be led away by his crew to collect his train. “Okay, then.” He whistled as he left. “See you later! Love you!”

Rheneas could only smile back at him. He’d always struggled with verbally expressing affection; he wasn’t sure why. But Skarloey had assured him that this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing — he just shared feelings differently — and he didn’t mind, anyway.

So, Rheneas smiled.

He watched him go until he was out of sight behind the carriage shed wall, and with the light of the rising sun replacing Skarloey’s heat in the role of warming him against the autumn chill, closed his eyes again.

if anyone has a solution to this (and i blame the new post editor bc this Never happened with the perfect old editor), but on my side blog, every time i've posted a video recently, it Never shows up in the tags. and the tags aren't the problem (i've switched up the tags and it still never appears, posted a text or image post with the Exact Same Tags and they show up in the tag search fine). and the side blog is pretty video-heavy (practically every other post from '21 to '22 was a video, but posted with the old post editor). since february of this year, i've only posted 3 videos and they have never, ever shown up in the tags.

tumblr support never got back to me and the The Most Random workaround i found on tumblr (while trying to see if anyone else has this same issue) was posting an image/gif in the same post as the video (like under a "read more") and SOMEHOW?!?! that makes it show up. but clearly other people keep posting videos without an image/gif placed underneath (based on the handy-dandy timestamps), so what the Fuck is up???
