It definitely did feel out of nowhere, especially with that afterlife episode (legit finally PLAYED the game instead of watching walkthroughs online last night, but I didn’t see the afterlife part until yesterday). My brain figured after seeing it that maybe he still felt so insecure and unwanted that he fell into the affair so he could forget everything for one night. Feeling like he’s replaceable, subconsciously it’d be almost like a test to see if M/C would really be willing to stick through it all despite what his mother implies (only being good enough if he has money since he looked ugly in his mom’s perspective), but realizing what he’s done, he desperately apologizes. Ohoho~ Now, I’m a fan of temperature play (ice cubes, warming and cooling lubes, etc), but I’ve ALWAYS wondered what it’d feel like to do wax play. Waxplay is great!! Different types of wax melt at different temperatures, so some are cool enough to be body safe while others will cause dangerous burns. But if you get candles specifically for waxplay then they won't burn you. You can also get massage candles that have essential oils and stuff and smell really nice, and they basically melt into a hot massage oil you can pour on your partner~ Electricity is also fun and not particularly dangerous if you know what you're doing! Hey Lovelies, I'm late again, but I'm kinda glad today. Do you know why? Well, because sometimes there are only so many things we can do in a day. Sometimes all we can do is get up in the morning, and feed ourselves, and the rest of the day is a bust.

Sometimes all we do is work, and we can't remember to drink water or take our pills. Sometimes we can do a lot! Sometimes we can do all the things.

So just remember, whatever YOU did today is enough, okay? You're making progress, bit by bit in whatever you're dealing with right now, and it doesn't have to happen all at once. Look at what you did today, and be proud of yourself because you made a huge, or a tiny step forward, and that is STILL A STEP FORWARD, and you can be proud of yourself for that.

One of the hardest things that I struggle with is that I have started to understand my own boundaries, and my own limits-- and sometimes other people don't respect those (none of you, don't worry). There's going to be people in this life, sometimes people close to you, who are supposed to be supportive, but they're dealing with their own struggles and sometimes try to push you past your boundaries for their own sake.

This is just a gentle reminder, that even if THEY tell you that you/what you're doing isn't good enough, that's absolutely NOT true, okay lovelies? You are doing enough. You are going at your own pace, and that is perfectly acceptable, and absolutely necessary for you to keep going.

Don't destroy yourself for their piece of mind. You deserve better than that. Go at your own pace. You're doing great. Be proud of yourself-- I'm proud of you. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday/Early Saturday Lovelies. Take care okay?

In some media that have found family and then the friends go their own ways at some point later on, find their own paths, I've noticed the aftermath in sequels that come after time skip of several years is not always... the best. As if the once closest friends, the family, has drifted apart. I mean sure, friends do sometimes drift apart but that separated found family trope creates a rift between friends too and like- I understand that people in real life can be like this but from my personal experience and observations, this shouldn't be, isn't, the case with family. This isn't the case with a group of people closest to you who you grow up with or who supported you in your hardest times and vice versa, who helped you find yourself.

Personal observation, I've literally seen best friends or childhood friends meeting after decades and acting like they just met yesterday. There's no rift, no reserved behavior out of politeness, they literally let go of everything and let out their inner child. They laugh and tease and joke wholeheartedly, are comfortable around one another, rile each other up for funsies in a heartbeat, throwing every piece of maturity out the window. And that's not counting my own personal experience of meeting any of my best friends after several years, we didn't even realize until my mother pointed out that we were acting like we just saw each other yesterday even though it's been years.

Anyways, I'm getting off track here. Point is, I've seen many pieces of media that always create a rift between closest friends or family or found family after a long time of being away from each other and it adds drama and all but while I've seen it excused as being realistic, it isn't. Not in my opinion. Which is one of the major reasons why it always breaks my heart to see this happening and why I hate the Separated Found Family trope. I mean, why even form it in the first place if you're just planning to tear it apart in the end? What's even the point?!

So, whenever such a thing is built up in any franchise, I develop a sense of dread. I'm internally going "plz don't separate then plz don't separate them" about characters I've grown to love. And part of the reason is how media usually handles it, extremely poorly in my honest opinion.

But this didn't end up being the case with Team Sonic when Sonic's closest, life long friends decided to grow and find their own paths in life. Go their separate way. He was happy and proud to see them grow, a little reminiscent and a little sad (though he didn't show it to them) but ultimately happy for them. Would the empty nest syndrome even be a problem for someone who considers the whole planet his home? Perhaps. He respects everyone's boundaries and understands their wishes to not randomly show up whenever he misses them. (Extra bit of angst that when he was setting them free from Cyber Space and becoming increasingly infected in the process, his friends were forced into a situation that got them in a very introspective mindset and each one of them individually decided to go out on their own, leaving him, and he didn't show the literal hell of pain he was being put through that was caused by the Cyber Corruption. He was losing himself with it. He had to come to terms with all his closest friends leaving him after that adventure while he was pushing himself to the brink of death, not even knowing if he'll come out of this in the end, just to set them free. And he didn't let them know so they wouldn't worry.)

Tails, Amy and Knuckles went their own separate ways to grow and find their paths. This looks like it advanced into the separated found family trope, right? But no. The thing is, while many other media used that trope to create rift and drama or something (I'm sure there are good ones out there which didn't do this, honestly kudos to them), this one didn't play out as such. In the latest TailsTube episode, that is proven and shown beautifully. They've all met up before on Amy's birthday and there was a quick visit Sonic gave to Tails in an earlier TailsTube ep and their dynamic remained the same in both, their friendship was just as strong as ever.

But episode 5? God, I'm in love with that episode. Team Sonic coming together after months and nothing has changed. In fact, going their ways and finding their paths in life to grow didn't create a rift between them or anything, it only made their bonds stronger. It made them even closer than they were before. Like how you grow to appreciate and treasure something more when you don't always have it.

This is how found family should be depicted. That's how it actually is in real life too. Found Family doesn't mean you have to stay together 24/7 or you can't grow and find your own paths. It means that even with living life, finding yourself, growing, these people you have come to love will be connected to you just the same. Distance doesn't create rifts when the bonds are so strong, it only ends up strengthening them even more.

Because like. its not just about newfound acceptance, people who will give you the benefit of the doubt and help you improve, people who see your worst and love you anyway, people who will forgive you.

Like its about that! But its also about- i trust you to drag me back if i stray. i trust you to call me out, to push back. i am putting my back to you- you will protect it, and you will also pull me back if i wander.

The first big backstory reveal between Beau and Caleb was an exchange, not a kindness. it was, tell me why you are afraid of fire, and ill get you into the library. Caleb laid out some of the corners of his guilty conscience, to Nott, with all of her faith in him, (he is my boy), to Beau, with her skepticism and brusque curiosity, and it was not meant as a soft gesture. It was not a call for forgiveness, or absolution- it was an item for barter, a warning, an admission of guilt.

and Beau- still unsure, still rough around the edges and rude and defensive and angry, shell-shocked and out of her depth did not provide forgiveness, or kindness. She said something along the lines of- good god, you know thats fucked up, right? i didnt ask for this, what the fuck.

She said something like: you know what you need to do now, then, right? prevent this guy from hurting more people. This is what you've gotta do now, I think- this is what we'll do-

And Caleb gets into the library, and casts haste on Beau in a bar fight, and there is something to be said about love shaped like a willingness to disagree, to push back, to say things wrong but try to say it anyway.

Caleb, and Beau, arguing. Beau is suspicious and Caleb is ready to run, and "the problem with friends is you have to care about them". Running into old injuries and boundaries, working to learn them, to fight to communicate. Apologies that are awkward but sincere. Kindness that is misshappen but intentional.

Caleb and Beau, butting heads, poking fun, trusting the other person to be suspicious of them, when it really counts.

"Can we keep each other straight?"

Some fifty episodes apart: have faith in us, just a little bit? dont run.

Caleb, vision and hearing gone and flung out ahead, placing a hand on Beau's shoulder. Lead me well, lead me straight, bring me back if I stray. Caleb and Beau, going in circles about what to do as the world ends, ambition and magic and time and guilt, and entities at war. Worried about evil, about going wrong, needing the clear vision of someone who loves you and will not eternally forgive you.

"I'm worried I am exactly what he said I was."

God just. Love as keeping each other on track. Beau and Caleb, as the only ones to get the eyes, afflicted by searching too hard for knowledge. what a horror, to have you and your tether tossed into an unknown spiral. what a comfort- if it was any of them, at least it was both. The Mighty Nein, making contingency plans, Yasha sticking close to caleb and cooing over his animal forms and ready, ready, for the worst. What a nightmare. Thank god. "Im glad it was us."

Y/N: *sits at home drinking tea while curled up in blankets watching TV. Hears a knock at their door, gets up to open it, and sees Price standing there* John?

Price: *stands there still dressed in his work clothes despite having been off duty for a few hours* Hello. Mind if I come in for a bit? I wanted to talk to you.

Y/N: Oh, uh, sure. *steps aside to let him in* So, what's up? *pulls the blanket around their shoulders tighter*

Price: *takes off his coat and drapes it over the back of a chair* It's about the incident with Valeria. You're not in trouble and she's been dealt with, but I am a bit worried about you. After seeing you abruptly leave the bar and then having her harass you at work, I want to make sure you're okay.

Y/N: I'm fine. Just hit a sensitive spot is all. I'll be back to work tomorrow, it's okay.

Price: Is it? I know that you don't go to pubs with us and that's fine and your business, but I want to make sure you're comfortable.

Y/N: You came all the way from work to ask if I'm comfortable? *tries to play it off*

Price: Like I said, I'm worried. I've never seen you upset like that before. It must have been a really sensitive spot for that to happen.

Y/N: And like I told you, I'm fine now.

Price: You're not, but that's okay. I just want you to be honest with me, please.

Y/N: *goes quiet before taking a deep breath to let it out* I'm a recovering alcoholic. I don't go to pubs because if there's only drinking, I would slip off the wagon easily. Before this job, I was barely functioning. I held it together long enough not to let it interfere with work. Then I got sober and turned things around. I used to be around people like Valeria and easily gave into that need to drink, so when she started pushing, I kind of snapped. No one knows at work. Well, pretty sure Simon knows cause he's Simon, but it's the incident at my last job that had me sobering up. *sits down on the sofa*

Price: *takes the seat next to them, but giving space, staying quiet and letting Y/N talk on their own time*

Y/N: I was always working hard to impress my boss, wherever I worked, so when I started staying late there, I would sneak drinks in. So, one night, I kept myself too long, and I was very clearly drunk. My boss shows up, and instead of reprimanding me, he says he won't say anything if I do a favor for him. Just say that I was with him all night. That was it. I said yes because I wanted to keep my job. . . Turns out he needed an alibi for the police because he was involved in a hit and run. I found out what it was for and when the police called me in, I cracked immediately. I told them I had been drinking at work and I hadn't seen him till after the accident. The people he hit, they had just had a baby and now the mom was paralyzed from the chest down. I would have rather been fired than lie for that. *let's out a long breath to steady themself*

Price: *stays quiet and still, waiting patiently*

Y/N: So after that happened, I quit drinking col turkey. I got into all the programs and kept myself busy as much as possible so I could manage myself. I had had a slip here or there, but it's been nearly a year completely sober and I couldn't let that go just because Valeria was getting pushing. Leaving was the only thing I could do and then she comes at me with that remark about barking for you. It just hit all the right buttons to get me to have a meltdown at work.

Price: You can tell us if you're uncomfortable with something. I want you to feel comfortable enough that you can voice your boundaries without fear of backlash. I'm sorry that you went through all that, though. It's not easy to battle addiction, especially alone.

Y/N: *nods, relaxing a bit more* Thanks. I appreciate it. After everything, including you having to take me to the ER and see my ass, I should trust you more. *chuckles*

Price: *snorts* An ass does make things interesting. We'll make the meet-ups after work more inclusive, yeah? We want you there and we want everyone to have fun. Thank you again for talking to me. Valeria won't bother you anymore and if there's any problems, let me know.

The brothers felt bad for Asmo.

I mean, sure, Asmodeus was sometimes overly affectionate on purpose, but it seemed that whenever he wanted to hug MC or pat their shoulder or just touch them platonically in any way, the sheep just...looked at him with a frown and a raised hand, muttering a soft:

"Please don't do that."

And Asmodeus always pouts cutely as you walk away, and while you do, you let out a sigh of relief. You knew that Asmo couldn't really...ground his affections and desires because of his position, but he could at least tone it down with the verbal affections.

You nearly had a stroke whenever Asmodeus flirted with you, because it'd always sound sweet and you'd think he was being innocent just this once, before he ruins the mood and builds up your guard around him even stronger when he scooches closer to you with a smirk. Of course, you go away right away before he has a chance to do anything else.

Lucifer looked up in thought. "That might actually work...mammon, challenge Asmodeus and MC to go there, I'm sure Asmodeus would accept.", he ordered, and Mammon nodded.

Mammon sighed in exasperation before whispering something into Asmodeus' ear. After a moment, the two composed themselves again and Asmodeus acdepted.

"AHH!", the blonde screamed in fear as another skeleton fell from the ceiling and nearly right on top of him. you just stood next to him, your hands in your pockets.

'Beel, why didn't you keep the spookhouse to yourself? And why is Asmodeus of all brothers here with me today?', you thought as you watched him close his eyes tightly as he hugged himself.

Now, you felt bad for Asmodeus as well. He really looked like he didn't enjoy it here, and for once, you let your guard down.

"Hey.", you spoke gently after you sat down next to him. He held his ears shut, his legs close to his chest and you didn't like the way his clothes got dirty from all the dust and dirt on the ground.

You slowly put your hand on his shoulder, and he flinched. But you pressed down, and Asmo finally opened his eyes as he had tears in his eyes.

"wanna leave?", you asked, and Asmo nodded. You stood up before reaching out your hand. Asmo looked at you with a face full of unsureness, and the question lingered in the air.

'are you really okay with that?', his eyes asked.

you opened your hand more in yes.

And he slowly brought up his hand, giving you the chance to pull back, but he got the message after your hand held his and helped him stand up.

"Let's get the heck outta here.", you said, and Asmo nodded as he wiped away his tears.

'Holding hands like this...is not so bad.', you and Asmo thought, and for once, his dirty mind was completely gone, instead having a calm and warm and comforting feeling in his stomach when he looked at your hand which was holding his tightly.

so tightly, as if to say: "Don't worry, I'm here."

And with holding his hand tightly, you and Asmodeus went home.

Heh I'm a big fan of him too! I think overall my fav operator would be Doc for sure in terms of personality wise. To play I think I used to play and Frost and Kapkan a lot when I started the game but these days I've been playing a lot of Cav and Kali (not that I'm very good at either of them) I don't actually have all the operators and have been slowly been unlocking everyone with renown, I played a bit of R6S a few years ago but stopped playing and only got back into it a few months ago.

Okay so bare with me here, getting into a relationship with Shuhrat isn’t as hard as it seems.

Getting into a friendship- which would be most likely needed first- is the hard part

At first, he's not going to really open up, nor respond much at all. Don’t worry, he's like that with most people, just give him patience and eventually he will start to respond.

You will need to take the first step, to push that boundary of friendship into romantic. He's not going to do it.

Even though he's the quiet type, he's not the type to make things one-sided, once in a friendship and eventually a relationship he will put in the effort, just in his own way.

PDA is not something that he prefers, he’s alright with hugging and affection (much to Alexsandr’s teasing) but he instead likes to have privacy where he's free to open up

Shuhrat likes to take his time when it comes to relationship matters, if it's in the bedroom or hanging out, he likes to just sit back and enjoy the moment.

He had that very logical view of work so when it comes to relationships and civilian matters, often at times, he likes to turn it off and relax.

Sometimes you will catch him staring at you, watching you. Not in a weird way, he just likes seeing your smile, memorising the way you look and the small ticks that make you, you. Penrose Song of the Day, Day 28: Vicodin by CVBZ

I've been bouncing off the walls. Haven't you?

There's something to be said for facing your vices but at a remove. The drugs can't get me from across the screen, and all that. I can't take them if they're metaphorical.

I miss the days when I just took pills off the ground, honestly. Which I have done! More than once! I think the most drugs I was on at one time was 4? Probably? I Envy the people that can be normal about drugs. Who can moderate or plan out a trip or a high or whatever. I... cannot do that.

Some parts of it were really, really great. Some parts I don't remember. Some parts were very very, bad. Some parts I'll never forget.

I miss so much of it. And I have this cosmic, tidal pull towards it. But I don't like who I am on them. I don't like what I do to get them. I don't like it. There's no Pride in this. So I don't do them now, or try not to. I just ache.

It can be soothing, at times, to worry at a toothache. To press on a bruise. To say I know I'm hurt, but I also know how far I can push it. What's uncomfortable but ultimately harmless. Self harm as boundary pushing (which is also harm), but in that clinical, detached way. Like I'm my own lab rat or something.

But I know too well that it can turn into an obsession. Nay, a compulsion. Sometimes the thought runs through my head unbidden, like a mantra. I've unlocked another layer of the universes but that layer is just the dark, ugly underside of consumption. Greed and Gluttony had a baby and they named it Addiction.

I can't always tell when a song about drugs will bother me and when it won't. Paradoxically, the more explicitly a song refers to it, the less it bothers me. Bump This, Meth and Mary, Adderall, Vicodin. All songs I love and can (usually) listen to without any issues. Semi-Charmed Kind of Life.

Usually it's songs that just remind me of a time that I can't do anymore. I like Burning Legend by French 79 but I absolutely, categorically can't listen to it anymore.

I miss that too, actually.

I've had drugs on the mind this week more than usual and I'm doing the extremely unfun work of "saying it out loud to people in my life" rather than struggle in silence and relapse. So here's me saying I'm craving a bowl so badly I dreamed I ate the glass pipe like a lollipop. Crunched on that glass bulb and chewed it up like it wasn't slicing my mouth to pieces. Just for a taste. for the last morsel on the glass. I can tell my brain isn't being subtle at all.

Vicodin is a song I actually kind of like. I have to say that the song does NOT describe taking Vicodin, unless you know a painkiller that keeps you awake for days. It's my understanding that Opiates just fuck your REM sleep. You sleep but you're still tired. Sloth incarnate. No this song sounds like my kind of drug honestly. Slow down for us, but I can't control my pace. "I haven't slept in days." You know what that sounds like.

I do, at least.

CVBZ (pronounced "cubs" because of course it is) couldn't possibly have made a more me song if he tried. Even the fact that the artist is called "Cubs" and the song is about drugs, but is vague enough to plausibly hide which one.

The song has a really simple background synth with odd placements to it- feels like, ironically, a song I would really enjoy listening to high. The claps are a grounding presence when the backing track falls back during the chorus. The song is a little spare. A little empty. Honestly I kind of welcome it, there are a LOT of songs that pack it in and I think the space given to this song makes it work a little bit better.

The lyrics are sufficient, the melody is simple and easy to sing. I could probably manage it high as a kite, honestly, which sorta adds to it.

I'm usually to myself, I prefer my own company to other people because other people need time and attention and I can do that in small doses but I'm my own biggest enemy in that sometimes people think I'm too nice or that I won't defend myself and they'll push me around or try to pressure me. <- this is 9 right off the bat, it is talking about boundaries (a huge deal with 9s -- you don't want to be "pressured"; you want to be left alone to do your own thing, and you feel overwhelmed by other people)

I've gotten used to being on my own. I think I've gotten used to going at my pace and sticking inside my comfort zone. I might be mellow, if I wasn't so anxious sometimes I would say I am. <- 9 again, leave me alone to do things my own way, at my own speed; don't rush me. 9s can have anxiety within, but they are "independent"; 6s are not

Other people don't see that though. They do think I'm too nice, one time I asked my foster dad how I was as a person [...] I was surprised when he actually said I was soft-spoken and calm and easy-going. I figured he would've clocked my anxiety and said I worried often and was sometimes preoccupied, but no, instead he made me sound nicer than I am. <- more 9, feeling anxious inside and shocked that others perceive them as super mellow and unaffected and mild-mannered

Most people just kind of protect themselves and frankly I wish I could do that. I feel too bare and exposed sometimes. I can't get away from people and their feelings no matter how much I try. <- being invaded by people (9), wanting to escape (9), can't protect yourself from internalizing their feelings (Fe/9/attachment type)

I know I don't want to be pressured to marriage or relationships. If I were to get into one I don't think I'd want to get married. And that's only if I get into a relationship. I'm the master of me sea and I have freewill and I could choose to stay single. <- potential sp/so subtype

I guess sometimes I do feel a bit lonely, but being with someone isn't going to solve my problems. It'll create more. So then I'll be lonely and with problems, so until I'm in a better place and actually have an option for a relationship I'm cool to relax. <- 9. Sadness + Fear don't really come easy to him, which isn't that he doesn't feel them but that they're often changed into anger and frustration before he can figure out what he's feeling. If someone scares him he's going to go straight to trying to hurt them so he feels in control again.

💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

Way too many. His less heinous ones that the average person could get used to are probably his annoying etiquette rules he picked up from being English and also a Tzimisce. Forcing people to take their shoes off at the door, making tea before conversation even if nobody can actually drink it, insisting that he gets something for his guests and getting annoyed if they don't take him up on his offer. He's also an advocate for people "talking properly"... Terrible.

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

Going to disregard Canon a little wrt how vampires sleep because I don't fully know it. I think he has a routine before bed and it's very slightly silly, but it helps him drift off, he has pyjamas that are different than a lounging set and also wears a dressing gown. He probably reads a book a bit before putting on an eyemask (his room is pitch black without the lights on anyway) and going to sleep. If he was still alive he would have big glass of water on the bedside.

If he's home during the night he also takes dad naps occasionally.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

He's basically insane and just really wants to turn into a dragon ever since he found out that it's possible. It's his biggest goal at the moment and he hasn't told a single other person that this is his endgoal. He's absolutely willing to do ANYTHING but he doesn't think he's going to get a positive reception from anyone so at the moment he's keeping his head down until he gets enough power that he doesn't have to worry about people getting in his way.

📣 MEGAPHONE - how loud are they? what do they speak like? got a voice claim?

Not loud per se, but definitely has a clear voice. He used to talk in lecture halls so he knows how to project without screaming. Cameras... Aren't exactly novel to him but they are one of the pieces of technology he's actually familiar with. I don't imagine he likes having his photo taken, with him trying to keep a relatively low profile in regards to mortals. He probably has some much older ones laying around for sentimental reasons though. I can imagine he takes photos of his reptiles for his own purposes and still uses a film camera.

Well first of all he would call bullshit, and ask how it's even possible for that to happen. People who don't know his clan will assume that he's uptight and a killjoy, because of his archaic way of talking and his mannerisms, but really he's just being overly polite because of his personal convictions. He enjoys the unconventional and pushing boundaries, even if he doesn't always phrase things correctly.

If they know he's a Tzimisce, then all their assumptions are probably right. He's proud of his work and enjoys the process, with everything that implies.

He did before being embraced, used to go on expeditions quite often to other countries and do the whole travelling to remote areas to camp and look for wildlife. Obviously it hasn't been possible for him to do this for over 100 years now and it's probably one of the things he does actually miss about being alive. Being stuck in London doesn't exactly lend itself to experiences in nature and Ohio doesn't have any reptiles, so he's just had to fill his home with them instead.

1. My body and soul is MY OWN. Nobody but me owns it, I get to decide what to do with it. If I want to decorate my body with tattoos, piercings and makeup (or none at all), I fucking can. If I mentally don't want to go into a certain direction, I don't have to and I can trust myself on that instinct. 💫

2. Gender is not in your pants and it can be fluid and not have a binary. (Yeah I found out way late that I'm not cis). Also your body shape doesn't define your gender! 🌈

3. I am whole, I don't need anyone or anything to complete me. 💖

please keep in mind that just because these people are in the same group doesn't mean that they are bffs who will spend the rest of their lives together. if you want my take on this: the feeling I got was that they have gone through many changes and challenges together, and are finally growing up and growing out of the boxes they were put in when they became a group. there's nothing wrong with that, imo. but, of course, to outsiders it might look a lot more dramatic and negative than what it truly is like in real life.

Dynamic || seven of wands, hanged man rx, ten of swords, three of pentacles rx: So- 2 main messages here: 1) they're currently at a point where all (or, at least, most) of the members are quite sure of themselves and of the path they want to take with their careers. It feels like they're all pushing to get their way; pushing to be heard. If previously they were more willing to listen to other people's opinions and sacrifice their own visions/wishes, they're over it already. Working as a team may not be as easy as it once was, but it's really all about their (un)willingness to see things from the others' perspectives instead of focusing so much on their own. And, 2) it's be so long already that they feel like they can let themselves go. What I mean is- do you know when in relationships, after some time, people stop caring so much about how they dress or how they act, text messages get shorter and less lovey-dovey, dates get more lowkey, etc? That's basically what I'm seeing… they're not putting in the same type of effort they once were, which results in them feeling disconnected from each other. Everybody's just like "whatever"; not asking how the other's day was or asking them out for a meal after their schedules. Honestly, it just feels like they need to find a new purpose or common goal as a group once again… Work brought them together, but also isolated them.

Irene || ten of swords, five of pentacles rx: She's absolutely exhausted. I do feel like there's still a bit of hope that things will magically get better, but it won't be due to her efforts. At this point, she's accepting whatever comes her way, with no expectations or big wishes. She's also not asking for more because she honestly feels like there's too many factors at play here and a looot would have to change. It's like "yeah, I'm accepting less than what I think we/I deserve or could do, but the fight is not even worth it anymore". She's just silently letting things play out, really. Out of all, I'd say she's the one who's most aware of how much they have changed over the years and how the journey has worn them down as friends and co-workers.

Seulgi || page of swords, strength rx: One of the members who tries to stay in contact with the other as often as they can. She likes knowing what they're up to and what their plans are, even if they aren't super close or spend a lot of time together. However, she's still feeling a little disconnected. The group doesn't feel as stable or "safe" as it once did, and so she's detaching herself before it all crumbles and hurts her feelings. In the past, she might've been overly depend on the group, so I do think it's wise for her to build stronger boundaries and a personal identity that doesn't rely so much of being a RV member. Once she lays a solid foundation for herself, she might be able to connect with them once again.

Wendy || lovers, star rx: She still feels super connected to them and cares a lot about the group and the members (as individuals/friends). She might even try to get them all to meet up often or stay in contact as frequently as possible. Wendy really doesn't want to lose these connections, no matter what they group's future looks like. Also, she might go as far as avoiding bringing up her own issues and worries in order to keep things light - as in, she doesn't want to feed into the pessimism and exhaustion that they are already feeling, so the light won't completely go out.

Joy || ten of wands, chariot rx: She does put in the effort, but it feels more like a duty or a burden rather than something that she truly wants or is passionate about. I do see her looking back at their achievements and being very proud, though. I really do think she's proud of the RV name and work, and that's what's keeping her engaged. However, she doesn't hold strong goals or dreams anymore when it comes to the group… at this point, it's just something that she accepted as part of her life and that she has to play her part in when she's asked. It is more work oriented, but if anyone needs her, they can count on her, for sure! She's very, very loyal - I'll tell you that much.

Yeri || queen of wands, lovers rx: Yeri feels like she has finally found her footing as an individual and/or artist after spending so many years carrying the label of "RV's maknae". She's feeling confident, enthusiastic, ready to explore her creativity; going solo or standing out on her own might not seem as scary to her as before. So, all in all, she did separate herself from the group a little, but it was for the best. However, I must say: she has to be careful not to come off as too selfish or demanding now that she's finally found her voice within the group (and personally).

I do work from home. I've been 100% work from home for about a year and a half now and I was about 50% work from home for a while before that. And I love it. I would have a lot of trouble going back to work in an office environment. And the company I work for, they have been talking about their "back to the office" plans a lot and they keep getting pushed back because almost no one wants to go back and they're having to adapt.

There are a lot of reasons this is preferable for me. I live in a really big city. If I were going into an office every day, it would be 45 minutes to an hour each way in rush hour traffic. Which is fine on occasion, but every day gets taxing. Also, there are less distractions. Work is more about work than a complicated social game when our interactions are mostly over Teams. Also, and this is the biggest for me, I can control my distractions. I like to listen to music or watch something while I'm working, which I can do as much as I want at home. And finally, I can technically work anywhere. I can go stay with my mom or my brother for a week or two. My partner and I can go visit his parents on the other side of the country. And I don't have to take time off to do those things anymore. I can just take my work with me. If I'm having a bad and overwhelming day at work, I'm allowed to go lay facedown on the floor for a minute and take a few deep breaths. Definitely can't do THAT in an office. OH. And I can run errands during the day. If I know I'm ahead on my tasks, I can just step away and go take care of stuff and it's no big deal.

Obviously, there are bad days. There are times it would be a lot easier to sit down with someone and explain something. There are times when it feels like everyone wants something at the same time, but I've had those days in office as often as I have working remote. The other downside is that it can be harder to draw boundaries. Because like I said above, you can take your work with you anywhere. Especially if you have a job where you have Teams (or Slack or whatever) on your phone. I'm fortunate enough that the director of my department is very big on work-life balance and has set some fairly hard rules about reaching out to people outside of regular working hours. It's also hard for me to remember to take lunch breaks. But it was hard for me to do that in the office, too. So, I guess my point is that all the distractions I have working remote are pretty much the same ones I would have in the office.

If you're working remotely, it's very important to set clear expectations about start and end times. It's also very important that you set boundaries with yourself about what you're allowed to do while working. If I'm having a good focus day, I know that I can pull Sims 4 up on my laptop and do some actions during some of my work tasks. If I'm having a bad focus day, I can't bring my personal laptop or my ipad into my work station or I will not get anything done on time.

Hopefully this has helped a little bit! I know some people prefer the social environment of an office, but I very much do not. I really feel like working remotely has given me a weird amount of control over my life that I did not have before. Maybe that's a weird feeling, but my life feels way more like my own and way less like it belongs to the corporation that I work for.
