If Blake is being kissed platonically by their bandmates or close friends from other bands, they'll play it off a bit. Blake enjoys the affection though. They also don’t mind getting slobbery kisses on their cheek from their Jack Russell Terrier, Jett. If it is a romantic partner, Blake probably would be happy about it in private but slightly uncomfortable about it in public. They’re not huge on PDA, and they like to keep their romantic life private.

Maybe sloth, like acedia? Blake works really hard, and they put a lot of labor into the band, but sometimes, they're rather indifferent toward themself. Like, they can’t give a fuck about themself the same way they do about the band or their bandmates.

💘 What kind of person is their ideal type?

Someone who understands their passion for music. Blake doesn’t necessarily want to date someone from another band, but they do want someone who understands how important music is to them. Music has gotten Blake through a lot of shit, including the death of their bandmates, and their partner has to understand the importance of that. They could never walk away from making music.

They also like someone who is quiet, laidback, and isn’t about living a party lifestyle. Blake wants somewhere quiet to come back. Their partner also has to be cool with Blake's touring schedule or at least, willing to meet Blake halfway.

🛌 What kind of sleep schedule does your OC have?

A fucked up one. Blake was a night owl before they started touring, and touring has only made it worse. They’ve learned to fall asleep anywhere and regularly stays up. After they get back from touring is always the worst. Blake struggles to get back into a somewhat normal sleep schedule.

macon, far more closed off—cautious to the point of near callousness, perfectly polite and tiring of talking to new people because more often than not he's being looked down upon and invisible, he doesn't think much of these 100th boys—until bennys there with an easy grin and easier hands, at the end of the day macons left admiring at bennys unflinching steadiness and unconditional kindness.

for some strange reason (he was forced.) benny confides about his crush to bucky. which is kind of weird because he's usually closer to buck—except one random day bucky sees benny—steady handed, light fingered benny demarco—grip at meatballs fur a tad too tightly and then stumbles on thin fucking air. he follows benny's unchanging gaze to: one richard macon. from that point on benny's fucked on a biblical proportion.

god i am so fond of the idea of benny coming by the tuskegee base (again, please pretend their bases are like half a day away) and taking the effort to meet all of macons friends, charming every inch of the base, shooting the shit with alex and daniels again (daniels being initially a staunch demacon anti bc he's overprotective is a whole other thing aaa), making nice with his superiors that they are literally gunning for macon to court the guy back

the drawing that alex did of the two in the officers club is kept carefully pressed between the pages of macon's journal. he commissions another drawing of them for benny's birthday, pressed dried flowers himself around the watercolor sketch, and wrote winding letters in the back, of wanting a future outside of planes and skies he didn't think he'd ever want with someone else. he frames it and ships it to benny, who's in chicago at the moment and is geared for a roadtrip to birmingham, alabama the day after his birthday. times it perfectly so when its the day of his birthday, benny reads it, and whatever his answer is it'll be known in two-three days time: if he does arrive at macon's doorstep with a ring he hid on the side of the wooden frame—a little puzzle that only benny could solve.

Ik I shouldn’t take a stupid fandom meme that seriously and even actual Ruby fans use this damn joke, but I’m just so tired from my personal experience how so many people keep bringing it up like it’s a fact and they’ve constantly made it Ruby’s only defining personality trait (which literally isn’t canon).

When it started to be annoying is when it got out from the fandom by people who stopped watching the show a long time ago (the traditional "RwbY waS bEtTer BEfiorE V3" bla bla bla people), or by people who never watched the show. And straight people lmao.

I think this is really sad and stupid a lot of people took this meme seriously and shared it so more people with idiot views would come and say the same things. I just thought it was funny with a handful part of the fandom, those who REALLY know what they're talking about.

But it's really hard to be able to deal with people who cause problems, so for those sharing stupid things I just block them. It doesn't solve the problem but at least it's out of my tl on social medias. There's a lot of people who love to say so much stuff about RWBY, at some point if you want to keep enjoying being in the fandom you have to block massively. It's the only way to protect yourself and your mind, and I have no regrets in blocking people because the option is here for that.

And I agree on the fact that this is stupid considering Penny was important to Ruby, and IS still important despite being gone. And I also completely agree on the fact that Ruby probably had feelings for her and never got the chance to understand them and to realize what she felt, this is THE tragic yuri ever I will never shut up about these two-- So yeah it's pretty dumb considering Ruby was lashing out because she bottled up, kept everything to herself for so long, she exploded to the people who had found happiness right in front of her. The relationship isn't the issue for Ruby here, it's the whole situation, her sister is able to be happy with Blake while Ruby falls more and more into despair and isn't able to protect anyone. It's such a complex mental state and difficult to read from someone who don't think that way (I do act like Ruby, working on it, so I understand what she feels). hi I wasn’t here around the jenny slate era but since that movie with Blake was released users of tik tok are bringing up what she used to tweet, her insensitive jokes and something about a podcast and hitting Chris? If you don’t mind explaining to me

Honestly, I’m kind of surprised she was never called out sooner for her poor behavior. I do hope that she has changed for the better, but she hasn’t done anything that proves she has (in my opinion) because she mostly stays quiet now and she deleted her twitter which had most of the receipts of her crappy comments anyway. The best thing she could have done for her own public image was step away from word vomiting all over social media.

A lot of Evans fans get slack for hating on Jenny simply because she dated Chris and that isn’t true at all. A lot of fans were initially happy for him until they discovered that the relationship started off with what looked like an affair and that Jenny was/is a person of questionable character. People had reasons for disliking her and I’ll post actual receipts of her tweets below.

When it comes to the hitting during the podcast, yes it is true she was slapping at him and punching at him, but I will say that a lot of people have characterized this as a form of physical abuse and I’m not sure I’m comfortable going that far with it. I think it was in more of an obnoxious attention getting type of contact versus her actually aiming to harm him or physically dominate him in any way. But that’s just my opinion. With that said, I’ll also say that I don’t love the whole “play hitting” thing myself, it’s kind of weird to force contact on someone else like that, but I do think she was unfairly demonized in this instance. And what’s weird is that commentary came long after they broke up. I don’t remember anyone being alarmed by her contact with him during the podcast when it initially came out. Mostly because people were very focused on what both of them were saying and how they were interacting with each other.

With that said, I believe the podcast is still on YouTube and I would encourage you to listen to it for yourself and make your own judgement there.

Now, as for her making shitty comments that were transphobic and fat phobic in the past? Well I’ll leave some receipts for you and again, let you judge for yourself. What I will say is that these are only a SMALL sampling of her posts and that more are out there, but you get the idea. It also took forever to find just these, and I’m sure you’ll get the point either way. And before someone comes back and says “…but but but! Some of the tweets are from as far back as 2010! That’s 14 years ago!” I’ll say you’re correct. Some are on the older side. But keep in mind that Jenny would have been 28 at the time of those tweets. Older than Alba is now for those keeping score. These tweets were also posted by Jenny HERSELF as a full grown adult, and not her friends back in their teen days.

Just as a final note, please do not go on after reading these and use them as an excuse to harass anyone. The point of this post is to provide context to newer fans who do not understand why older fans disliked Jenny and it is not meant to rehash old drama or cause problems for her in the present.

it's not "blake bashing" here exactly but sometimes i think none of you actually like blake. you like gwen and you like her relationship with blake and the value blake brings to you seems to be "whew, he's not gavin and that's why we love him" but when it comes to blake as blake... i'm never seeing anything positive, or if there's anything it's minor/rare. it's been an interesting discussion and it's good everyone is finally discussing their careers for a change and not their extended families, but... this is who blake is as a person. he seems to like music but nothing about the music industry, and that's fine. he still wants to make money so he keeps doing things that are part of the music industry but he's free to complain about them. his career suffers because of his lack of enthusiasm and desire to do things and i think he knows it, but a lot of people in the world have good jobs and complain about them and it's okay. you expect his music to be different, you expect his personality to be different, you expect him to be joined at the hip with gwen constantly but you also expect him to make an album every two years and have big tours. you may "buy his music and concert tickets" but you don't actually support him, you just want him to be someone else. if the cost of you being a fan is constantly complaining that you don't like what he's doing, then don't be a fan, it's also okay, you don't have to. to me it just seems he followed what pays the most for way too long and now doesn't even know what he likes or wants to do anymore. it's crazy he doesn't listen to new music in his genre, but i think it's pretty clear he's burned out and not passionate anymore. and it's very easy to accept this without judgement and go listen to his albums from 15-20 years ago (that's assuming you even like those...) instead of writing 30 messages on here how everything about what he does and who he is needs to be different because you are not entertained enough

I agree he is burnt out. But I disagree that most people root more for Gwen. Gwen is equally, if not more frustrating in her career. This fandom would not exist without this guy with such a huge heart and so much talent who literally showered Gwen with kindness and made her smile again.

I was a Gwen fan first. I didn’t know Blake. But I’ve now been to 5 Blake concerts, every location of Ole Red (except Vegas), bought countless merch, requested and voted for his songs thousands of times.

I am fully invested in Blake, I assure you :) I hate to see his songwriting and vocal talents not being used and I miss getting more music from him, but if he’s happy, that’s great.

In that recent interview with Jenna casually bringing up how Wenclair’s dynamic is one of her favorites of all time because they’re “dark storm cloud and sunshine” and it’s like. Like.

Like, the question wasn’t even remotely about character dynamics (it was about the sets of the show ffs) but just like One of Us™️ Miss Ortega took any opportunity to bring up her ship like a true Wenclair Warrior. Combine that iconic moment with Hunter’s “fighting for #Wenclair iykyk”? I am getting SUCH flashbacks to the RWBY fandom where Bumbleby’s VAs Barb and Arynn would be absolute champions for the ship oh my GOD. They talked about it on the ship it show or whatever that youtube series was, the fucken ‘Yang’s arm is a vibrator’ jokes Barb would make, just- SO MUCH fer our lovely Bees (who, mind you, are THE Sun & Moon Girlfriends™️ in their aesthetics, their personalities before Blake opened up more but it still works in current time, their semblances, even their NAMES LIKE ARGH NO ONE SERVES LIKE THE BEES,,,).

In conclusion, that rush of the actors of a show themselves advocating or even just giving us little crumbs towards a ship? It’s immaculate it’s amazing like I can not wait for next week to see what happens. I will say that if Wenclair DOES follow the Bumbleby route of “super popular sun and moon gfs even the actors themselves ship” then I am dying to see what version of Beehaw the Netflix Wednesday fandom will throw together should there be a longass hiatus for another season. Bumbleby is my OTP aka One True Pairing, my favourite RWBY ship.

I've come to realise that one of my NOTPs aka least favourite pairings is a little strange bearing in mind what my OTP is.

While I can understand why it's a thing, and even why it's aesthetically pleasing, Blake paired with possessed!Yang from Justice League x RWBY Part 2 is a NOTP for me. H%rnet I think the pairing is called, although maybe that's when it's specifically with Negative Blake from Ice Queendom.

Possessed!Yang or Y@ng does look pretty cool with those glowing eyes. I find the whole possession an interesting thing to explore, and might write a fic about possessed!Yang at some stage.

I'll get into why H%rnet's a NOTP for me under a read more cut, because I don't want to rain on the parade of anyone who likes it. I just hope that cut works, I'm not entirely sure they always do.

It's my own personal opinion. There's nothing wrong with liking H%rnet.

Why is it a NOTP for me? It's because Kilg%re is the one possessing Yang. He's the reason her eyes are glowing. He's the one in charge. Yang's trapped in her own body, unable to do anything but watch. Going by what happened to the Flash with his possession in Part 1 and the after effects in Part 2, those possessed are aware of what's happening.

The involvement of Kilg%re in possessed Yang doing anything romantic or sexual with Blake just thoroughly squicks me out (squick being an older general fandom term meaning it personally grosses me out or repulses me without bringing any moral judgement into it).

Then there's how Yang can't consent because she can't say or do anything to give it. I don't think it can be taken as a given, even with Blake as her partner. It's not impossible to get past this issue, because Kilg%re could release his possession for long enough for Yang to speak up, and call a halt to what's going on after that if he can tell Yang's not okay with it anymore.

I've no idea how likely it'd be that Kilg%re would respect those boundaries, I don't know much about him besides that he's a villain who possesses people because he apparently doesn't have a body of his own, and specialises in hacking. He certainly doesn't ask for permission before possessing his enemies.

Anyway, again, there's nothing wrong with liking possessed!Yang and Blake as a pairing. Even with the implications with Yang not being able to consent, there's ways around that. They are also fictional characters. No one is really being hurt.

I fully subscribe to the philosophy of 'don't like, don't read.' That means it's my own responsibility to avoid all things H%rnet. Here on Tumblr that means it's a tag I should filter. It's absolutely not my place to tell anyone their fun is wrong, which is why this is (in theory) behind a read more cut.

I’m usually on lockdown mode during hiatus but I was curious of peoples theories: outside of cutesy bee moments, what do you think Blake and Yangs first relationship arc will be about? So far I guessed Blake would have trouble adjusting since she was so young and traumatised with her first relationship and Yang might have issues truely opening up. Idk the fandom is super quiet bc I’m so picky with who I follow lol but I’m still thinking about Them

I don't really have any concrete ideas since we have like. No details about what volume 10's going to be about. With the way RWBY's writing works, I also don't really know if they're going to have arcs that are specifically about their relationship going forward so much as their relationship being a thing that's important or relevant to arcs about other things. idk this may just be me talking semantics.

The only thing I desperately want right now is Blake having some part to play in the whole Raven business. 50% because Raven drama is one of the most concrete things I would bet my life on being in volume 10, and 50% because I have been Dying for Blake to interact with Raven since volume 2 and 3 and it is killing me that she's going to be the last member of team RWBY to meet and talk to her. It has been six years, I need the confirmation that Raven was very specifically taking a shot at Blake with "Your teammates never let you down before." Do you know how much it would sustain me if Raven dislikes Blake for leaving, or like looks down on her for it? I know the fandom would never be able to handle that with any nuance, but I would love it.

Is there a point of bringing up Blake leaving at this point in the story? Maybe not, but the origin story of Yang's abandonment issues is coming back next volume so could be relevant for the Contrast. I just think there's so much that could be done with the parallels between Blake and Raven that haven't been super touched on yet, especially compared to Yang and Adam's parallels. As someone who caught up with RWBY at the beginning of volume 2, the Blake/Raven and Yang/Adam parallels are such an integral part of the Bees to me so they're always relevant to me.

Does it feel like to you that Adam criticism has turned around in the last year or two? Feels like the big culture back in 2019/2020 that saw folks getting abused for criticising Adam's writing/his relationship with Blake has faded away and people are more comfortable saying he was mishandled by the writers.

And to bring it back around to James, should that turnabout for Adam be legit, do you think James will get a similar turn when even the fans will have to admit his downfall was a mess (I know the majority outside of the fandom feel that at least)?

Hey anon! Everyone's online experiences are different for sure. I say this because on my end I haven't really seen any significant shift in the fndm regarding Adam. Now take this with a grain of salt because I don't really seek out Adam content because I just don't particularly care for his character, I get why people like him. I get being angry about his ac and how his character was handled and feel angry when thinking about how badly CR/WBY butchered him but like I don't really have interest in his character outside of that. But overall for me at least it seems like he's continuing to get a lot of hate.

I see people get genuinely angry that people still talk about the issues with Adams arc in R/WBY. People demand to know why people want to talk about his character or maybe even feel bad for him. People sent hate and call people who like him abusers and claim only "Straight white men" like him.

So with that in mind, I just don't see a shift happening for James as sad as that makes me. I love James's pre volume 8 character and arc. I think he was well written and interesting. However fans are willing to lie and change James's former actions to try and pretend he was evil all along. Sending Yang a new arm free of charge? He was "clearly" trying to make her indebted to him despite not knowing she would ever even leave Patch. Standing up to Weiss? Also manipulating her. Standing up to Jacques? Proof he doesn't care about Mantel and that fucking Jacques of all people is the one who cares. Jacques the man who said he'd fire them if he didn't need their votes. Whom he sold out to Salem with no regard for their well-being.

Back to the point, Fans refuse to see any good James may have ever had or been in a desperate attempt to "prove" R/WBY is a well written show. They cannot fathom that maybe the writers screwed up and made a mistake. Given how the fans justified Volume 9 and the repeated tonal whiplash and horrifically handled arcs I just do not see them recognizing how poorly James and Adam where handled.

Fic summary:

If you could go back and change the choices in your life, would you? Would you love the same people, go on the same vacations, have the same career? Or would you have regrets? After the lightning strike, an unexpected visitor makes Buck question all the choices he’s ever made. From dropping out of the Seals to never making a move on Eddie because the time hasn’t been right. He’s going to get an up close and personal look at what could have been because another version of Buck is focused on taking his choices away from him—including Eddie and Christopher Diaz.

Eddie pulls him in close.  “I need to know what you feel like,” he confesses. 

“What?”

“What you—my Buck—feel like.  He.. it was wrong.  All wrong.  I need to know,” Eddie’s words are pressed, his tongue tripping over them as he pleads with Buck.  

“Eds, I’ll give you whatever you need,” Buck promises, finders curling around where they’ve fallen automatically to Eddie’s hips and finding the crease of muscle.

“Please,” Eddie says again but it’s against Buck’s lips and then they’re kissing and it’s everything Buck has ever wanted. Eddie is like a live wire underneath him, electric and heat that spreads through Buck’s body. The hand that had been holding Buck’s shoulder now tangles its fingers in his hair as Eddie takes everything Buck has to give, tongues dueling as they taste each other until they have to part to breathe, both whimpering and diving right back into the other after a sharp inhale. 

Buck can’t get enough—can’t bear anything between them—and neither can Eddie.  Shirts are pulled untucked, belts undone and underwear and jeans shoved down. Somehow, Eddie loses enough clothing so he can wrap his legs around Buck’s waist, bringing their hard cocks into direct contact.

For god's sake, you're telling me people got shitted on for theorizing that Qrow is Ruby's dad?? Sheez, with this pathern of behavior I can safely assume I would get accused of being a military bootlicker who supports bombing cities because I like Harriet.

For my time in this fandom I learned the only way I can enjoy RWBY, without mentally blocking out the toxic part of Fndm or getting mentally tired in the Rwde side and without getting frustrated by the canon...is to stay in my corner. No matter how friendly Rwby positive blog looks like - I'm staying in my corner. Quick look at their posts about Rwde, Ironwood etc. and I'm taking a distance.

And what sucks more, I do want to talk about RWBY with people. I want to talk without bringing up it's flaws. Once I brought up RWBY to a mutual of mine and they hadn't heard of it before, but said they would check it out.

I was happy because I would have someone to talk about RWBY, but then later I remembered about how Fndm can be, about the war with criticism they have. I would get worried them getting harrassed if they talk about the flaws. What if Fndms toxicity influences them? Maybe, I did the bad thing for mentioning RWBY to them??

I get, Fndm not wanting constant critcism in their dash. Trying to enjoy a show with many pointing out the cracks can be draining. But all this? All these rules of what to think, like and ship? This isn't ok.

I agree that RWBY haters can drive off new fans of the show. but there are times where fandoms are too responsible for this. Congrats Fndm, I'm tired.

Largely since my re-entry into the fandom I've been incredibly careful about separating positive posts from critical ones. I'll tag things as rwde/rwby critical liberally because I don't want to chance a post I make finding someone who thinks it's too negative. I tend to be more critical this days or think a lot about alterations I'd make to canon to enjoy myself more and I'm having fun doing that in my corner of the internet.

I think mainly the part that threw me was to see a harmless post get someone upset, and then a request for people to manage their internet space only caused this to worsen. Last time I posted freezerburn content (2016 I believe) it was treated as normal and not subject to controversy. It felt a bit like getting a bucket of ice water dumped on me because I wasn't ready for a completely angry response to positivity.

The fandoms response to my recent posts about this situation has been overall more positive in all honesty with a lot of support and mutual aggrevation (like this) at how many rwby fans can often live in an echo chamber where canon is law and anyone who ignores said law is out to destroy RWBY regardless of how much they might enjoy the show.

This defensive nature might stem from fans getting incredibly protective of the series because there was a point when it would get a lot of unnecessary hate in the early days for dumb things (animation and episode length when budget was clearly an issue). But even so they now begin to lump everyone enjoying the show differently together and assume the worst which is what isolates so may people.

I do appreciate all of you for being supportive though and it's unfortunate that the fandom got into a state like this, I feel like it's one of the worst versions of this type of thing in fandom that I've seen. But when we get the fans who accept people are going to have differences of opinions and handle their online space to make sure they're having fun it makes enjoying the fandom easier!

ok i actually am sick of alexis discourse ruining my peaceful senior year day SO I'm writing this and then I'm ignoring all notifications

Now. I've sen alot of Alexis Hate takes where she is called a bitch and claiming that calling her such is not misogynistic. However, it very much can be. Take this article from Time Magazine for example.

As seen in both images, "bitch" has only been widely used to bring down the woman. It's like I said in a previous post. The double standard in the fandom is atrocious. I recently recieved a reblog that basically said that Alexis has no redeeming qualities. I should mention, the post they reblogged was one where I mentioned Blake and Vega. I also mentioned Ivan but he has the excuse of being controlled by Vega. So let's look at Blake and Vega. Besides seemingly being attractive, what moral redeeming qualities do they have? None. Blake is a bad person regardless of the situation because he has hurt people. Vega is a bad person regardless of the situation because he has hurt people. ALEXIS IS A BAD PERSON BECAUSE SHE HAS HURT SOMEONE. How is it that when the male characters have that statement on their name, the fandom is okay with them having fans. We might disagree, but we all live with it. Why is it that with Alexis, her fans are called gross and are accused of excusing rape?

I think what Alexis Haters seem to ignore is that the people who enjoy her character are not saying that she's good. Me personally, I love her character because there is so much possibility that her character can experience. I don't love her because she hurt Sam. Alexis fans understand that what she did was wrong, but what they see that Alexis haters don't, is that she can grow from that. It's the same thing as Cutie. They messed up. And they can grow from that.

Now, before I get into this, I would like to state that I am Latina and I will be seeing this from that perspective.

I have noticed that alot of people's artistic depections of certain characters as POC is quite concerning. Here are the main ones: Gavin, Darlin', Huxley, and Alexis.

Since this post is only about Alexis, we'll dive into hers only.

In the following images, the narrative summarizes the stereotype of the angry black woman [which i have seen many Alexis depections of]. The second image speaks of a social experiment revolving anger in the workplace and how people react to anger of different races, ethnicities, and genders.

To make Alexis one of your ONLY POC characters is feeding into this stereotype. Since she is already depicted as a evil woman by much of the fandom, the fact that you would make her one of your only POCs is concerning.

Now before you line your pitchforks and preach that you aren't racist, I need y'all to breath with me for a sec. It could very much be something you are doing unconsciously.

Society depicts many POC in media as aggressive or sexualized creatures. It's no wonder why so much of racism can very much be unconsciously done.

We aren't asking you guys to change your Alexis designs. We are asking you to please understand that even if your intentions is good, the impact can be harmful.

Literally just agree to disagree.

Something that I find in EVERY fandom I have ever been in is the fact that no one can agree to disagree. Some people hate Alexis. Some people like her. The world still spins. The sun still shines. NOTHING BAD HAPPENS. Instead of calling each other names and resorting to attacking people directly, just agree to disagree.

Literally take from this what you will but if you ignore everything at least take this. People in the world agree and disagree all the time. It's the people that don't agree to disagree that cause problems in the world. Let's all just accept the fact that we have difference in opinions and live on woth our lives.
