The cognitive switch the fandom has had to make from "their relationship is one-sided, Reo does everything!" to "their relationship is one-sided, Nagi is sickeningly in love with Reo" is crazy to see -- NAGI STAND UP

(I don't necessarily think that way but I can tell that's where this is headed for ppl 😭)

More from the oneshot:

The implication that Nagi would suffer if he had to live the remainder of his life without Reo... "don't die before me"... i.e. 'do what you want but stay here'... he thought saying it would make Reo happy...

The fact that Nagi thinks they're similar -- much more similar than Reo seems to think they are -- makes their parting all the more bittersweet. It touches on the loner/outcast side of Nagi, to latch onto the first person to really connect with him and I like seeing that major part of his life actually explored in the oneshot. Like him living sparsely, alone, with no support system, is not just a goofy bit, it really does affect the way you perceive the world and your relationships.

I already liked and understood Nagi, but seeing it expanded on in the manga just made me love his character even more,, can we see them succeed and be happy in the main manga now,,, please,,

GOD GOD I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT SUNDAY AND ROBIN GOD everything about them the subtle storytelling of their relationship and everything just.

Robin being a songbird and Penacony being a cage and Sunday taking on the burden of being the one caged so his sister can escape and remain free and fly away and keep singing for herself and he tries so hard to protect her but when she inevitably comes back she's killed and Sunday can't protect her from inside the cage and all he can do is try to avenge her while everyone tries to use her death as an in to wring his neck too and in the end he can't even avenge her because he's too tired and vulnerable and Gallagher gets him from behind because there's nobody to watch his back anymore and he's finally let himself start grieving at the wrong time.

And in the end the god he was taught to love didn't save him or Robin.

Also I've seen people theorize he was chosen to be the head of the Oak Family as a sort of sacrifice which is so interesting because then he and Robin would fit the Scapegoat Ritual with Robin being the goat scarificed to god (Xipe) and Sunday being the one run off into the forest to carry away the sins of the people, in his effort to keep Robin from shouldering the sins of the people he forgot the scapegoat is the one that lives

i'm so so obsessed with this panel guys.. the way nikolai has his cape around him like a blanket, when previously it had been outwardly flowing behind him. and now it's covering him up. the way he's holding fyodor's hand so much more gently than dazai. the raw emotion in his face. the fact that he's stumbling over his words, and there's more than just the "and now....." in the anime. but he still can't finish his sentence. the way fyodor's wrist is what's level with nikolai's face, his pulse point even with nikolai's mind. the way fyodor's hand is still facing up while nikolai's head is angled down. fyodor is still reaching for God, but all nikolai wants is him. i'm going to jump off a cliff

So I was ORIGINALLY going to be making a Twst HC list of the characters' music taste but I exhausted all my brainpower for that after editing a 37 minute long shitpost mini movie that was a Twst version of William Shakespeare's Hamlet and called it Hamleona (THIS WAS FOR SCHOOL) so my creative juices ran a little dry. Thinking about ronance in their 50's, talking to their kids, reminiscing about the old days.

Robin telling them that Nancy was the queen of Hawkins High; the head of the school newspaper; badass who took no one's shit; how she somehow tolerated [Robin] long enough to even consider the possibility of love with her (Nancy would pipe in and say that Robin was exaggerating. Robin would laugh, kiss her, and focus back on the kids.); a girl with a smart mouth and the courage of a lion; a genius who shot in the dark and got bullseyes. Bragging about how she got the prettiest girl in all the world to fall in love with her.

Then Nancy would try and one-up her and start talking about Robin. That she was the wittiest rebel she ever got to pleasure to meet; a musical genius; most fascinating mind she'd ever gotten to watch in action; how Robin is like a sun to her; a weird girl with a weird mouth that rambled like no other, and it irritated her to no end until it didn't.

They'd tell them watered-down versions of their adventures, and how Robin slowly pickaxed her way into Nancy's life. How it ultimately became impossible to ignore their feelings for one another, and their kids would groan about how gross they are when they're sappy with each other.

If you can't tell, I'm going through a ronance crisis.
