Can i just say thank you so very much for sharing the intuitive writers podcast because i listened to just one episode five tips for intuitive writers and every single one hit the nail on the head and I'm pretty sure this is gonna change my life as a writer but also just my life period!!!!!
Like i used think there must be something wrong with me when i couldn't write like other people do or plan like other people do. And very time i tried to figure out how i did things in the past trying to put logic to my actions that were always based very much on my feelings at the time and some internal direction just kept giving me a headache.
Eventually i started to feel stupid for not understanding how my own mind works when it came to writing and not being able to replicate past actions and now i finally have something that could help me be the best writer I can be instead of trying to force myself to be the kind of writers my friends are so thank you so much for sharing the thing that finally opened my eyes!!! ☺️

Ohh! Thank you for telling me, that is wonderful!
Did you find the podcast by Becca Symes at the betterfasteracademy.com? She has so many good episodes.
I very much recommend her book about intuitive writing, it made me feel so much better about my own chaotic process. Another book I always recommend for discovery writers is "Survival Kit for Writers Who Don't Write Right" by Patricia McLinn.
I believe in you! I believe you will be the best writer you can be!
Evey writer is different and there is no process that works for everyone. Some authors even say that the process is different for every book they write. It's really all about letting the story leads you and following your intuition.

I'm an intuitive writer. This means I do not plot. I start a chapter not knowing what I want to say, but I say it anyway. Halfway through I realize that I do, in fact, have something to say. I say that. I check my phone for things I typed out at 4am. I do not remember typing these things. I add them to a different chapter. I save my working document.
What I mean is: my writing style is akin to a flaming trash can, but if I say I'm an intuitive writer, doesn't it sound fantastic?

I don't know how other pantsers experience this
but me trying to plot a novel before I write it is like that part of Lady Gaga's extended "Marry the Night" music video where's she's covered in milk and Cheerios with a black bar over her tits and she's breaking everything in her apartment while yelling at some bitch on a rotary phone as Rachmaninoff slays it on the background piano track.

Being an intuitive writer is hilarious, especially since I’ve found myself in rpf circles. I talk about these characters like they’re real people, because for as long as I’m telling their story, they are. And while some characters share easily with me, tell me all their whys and wherefores and what have yous, others are like pulling teeth. Not because I haven’t gotten to know them, but because they literally clam up! Like bro! istg! I am TRYING TO GET YOU A HAPPY ENDING WHY ARE YOU GOING IN THAT DIRECTION-

THE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION
Tumblr media
As a writer, I frequently struggle with concluding a piece; I can never seem to arrive at a conclusion or a point where I feel satisfied.
Chronically, I add onto the piece, and the word count inflates, as do my worries.
Chronically, I edit and rewrite, never quite reaching a point of eureka. It is so, that I often catch myself delaying publication until the piece reaches perfection. It never does, and as you may predict, I never publish.
I just wanted to take a moment to remind myself that done does not equate to perfection. Sometimes, being done is better than being perfect.
Perfect might just be an illusion, which, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, a subjective truth.
What might seem flawed to you may be perceived as beautiful to another set of eyes.
So, publish that thing! You can always come back and edit parts you don't like or you've outgrown.
I feel like all artists, regardless of their medium of preference, are troubled by this greedy pursuit of IT - this idealized quality in our psyche.
We long to capture it entirely, and do it justice, but it comes out with different faces each time, all masks. They are never quite accurate representations of that which abides within us, and which we intimately know though we've never seen, only felt and palpated in the dark.
This dilemma reminds me of an oil on canvas piece by Anne-Louis Girodet entitled 'Pygmalion et Galatée' (depicted above). The artist attempted to capture the obsession of a creator with achieving perfection in form and aestheticism. The myth goes that Pygmalion fell enamored with his creation when a deity personified/humanized it. She represents everything the creator has sought to achieve; every frustration and choked-out idea fulfilled.

i don't know how to start with this reading. seems like an argument will lead at the beginning before they will say those words. i think this is gonna be a conversation where the two of you are conversing whether this connection is worth taking a risk. it's a conversation about family, career and love. it's like you are very goal-driven and career-oriented where you will explain to them to wait because you are pursuing your dreams. the debate is here. the intersperse of beliefs and so on. and they will snapped between the argument telling you---"that's bullshit! you know we are meant to be from the day we met until now. you know that i love you and i always do".
i don't think this was the first time they say that they love you but for you this is the first time, you feel that their affection is no joke. this is the time where you're gonna feel it really deeper than the other i love you's they said to you. they want you to stop controlling your emotions and let it burst as if in a begging tone. they want you to put the trust in them that it's only you in their heart.

wanna read a funny story? well the first time they will tell you those words is the time when you are having conversation about work or class. it seems like they learn these 8 letters of words from another and different language and try to give it a shot by saying it towards you at that time and your response, will be like "huh?, what did you just say?" asking in a very confusing expression and they're gonna segway it by simply ignoring what you'd ask to them by continuing "you should be cautious about what other people are telling you so you can catch up immediately".
but here's the catch (don't tell them i told you this please, okay 😉👍🏻) you will able to watch the shyness on their face and actions like they can't look at you in the eyes. they can't hold eye contacts and will be frantic in every activity they gonna do. but what's even more funnier for me is that bringing those words out sounds a relieving feeling to them. as if it was a feeling that they already pushed out a big shit on the toilet. in another theme, you are just gonna know about it.

this is something profoundly sweet. the first time they are gonna say it to you is through text messages. you may have interaction and may be in a talking stage era at this time and they are just gonna slip that word to you. it's like a confession of their love to you. i think they'll afraid to tell it to you one on one so they think other ways to utter it to you. if this is not the case, they might pass it through hand letter or even a song just for you ought to know their love. well, the second time they will tell you– that they love you will be happen in real life interaction but the twist is that they will let their friends to say it you. don't get them wrong, their feelings for you is huge but somehow every time they try to make a move and to make you know about it. they can't slip that word through their mouth. it because they become stunned every time you are near.
if their "i love you's" text message makes you flatter then what about more the real one interaction, it will make you as if a float of affection with little hint of excitement and magical dust. you will be lost in words at first but you'll be able to get back and say "i love you more". it's a moment of a pastel hues for the both of you.

baam. the first they will say it to you is also the first time you go out on a date with them. as i imagine, the date is gonna be fun with a little touch of unwieldy but more suave and constult kind of date. maybe because of moonstruck. i think this is a skinny love--- where two individual are shy to tell that tell they love each other but shows it anyway. you will also kiss anyway after they said that word to you.
i think you and this person will make an "i love you" core videos or messages then share it online. you will be enamoured with the time they tell you that they love you and this makes your heart melt and grow deeper about what you feel about them as a lover. their love makes you grow, as if you were a flower that needs love and sunlight to grow beautifully. you are the missing piece of this person puzzle and they can't wait to make fresh and unforgettable memories with you.

Hello writerly friends!
Yesterday, I listened to a podcast, where Becca Symes talks about intuitive writing. Which reminded me of her fabulous book "Dear Writer, are you intuitive?", a book that made me so seen when I read a while ago, it felt like a hug. I need to re-read it.
I recommend the podcast because it's very interesting, and I recommend the book, especially for discovery writers. We had a whole event here in March about being a discovery writer, if you want to check those posts out.
As a discovery writer, I'm always following my intuition to write the story, but sometimes I get stuck and don't quite understand why. It never happens at the beginning, it happens around the middle, when I already know the theme and where I want the plot to go. But somehow, suddenly, my intuition fails me.
In the podcast, around the 25 minute mark, Becca Symes talks about why we often don't trust our intuition. Our intuition tricks us sometimes, because we are wired to shy away from bad experiences. We see only the imperfections in our work, our writing, because seeing imperfections, seeing problems around us is a survival instinct.
This makes so much sense to me!
I'm stopping myself because I fear the story could turn out bad, or not like I intended. I'm seeing all the imperfections, even before they appear. My flow stops, because of fear and losing trust in my intuition.
So for this coming week, I want to work  with my intuition more, I want to trust it again.
How about you? Do you follow your intuition? Do you trust it?

on the surface, everything may seem to continue as normal, but deep down, you’ll know it isn’t the same at all. someone in your circle is worried about the path you’re moving towards–for better or for worse. there is no maliciousness in their concern. still, if you continue, this relationship will surely fall. as it falls, you will come to a grand realization about yourself and your path moving forward. it is up to you to decide between the comfort of this relationship, or your growth as an individual. here, there are no incorrect answers, only choices.

you are stuck in limbo–a state neither here nor there. the feeling won’t go away as long as you keep doing what you’re told. once in a while, there might be a voice calling to you from beyond the horizon and it’s longing for a response. listen to it, if you wish, but stay cautious. they only want what's best for you, but at the end of the day, they too want your agency for themselves. you won’t find what you’re looking for externally. looking inwards, there are things in your life that feel completely unsolvable. it’ll take years to ultimately find it in your heart to leave limbo for good. rest assured, it’ll be worth it. there will be more voices like the others. which are worth listening to depends on your will.

change isn’t something you’d pursue naturally. you’re content with the routine you’ve set for yourself, the people you know, and the life that you lead. change will not happen to you–it will happen around you. as time passes, your relationships may not be as tight knit as they might have been. it’ll fare well to keep an eye on this delicate balance of closeness or run the risk of feeling more disconnected than ever before. your favorite people notice your distance and it upsets them. don’t worry, they will take good care of your fragile heart, as long as you let them.
#  passage of time. sincerity, out of tune piano, earth, cracked sidewalks

Fanfiction is great because you never have to let go of your favourite characters. That is, until you find that one author who writes The Character in a way nobody else does. Every other interpretation of The Character becomes a pale imitation of themself, and you are cursed to roam the fandom forever, looking for The Character in other people's works, but only catching glimpses of the way that author wrote them. So close and yet so far.
