Jack Breaks the Flow of Time

Jack has a unique influence on the flow of time when they uses their magic. With a calculated mind, used for trapping prey, Jack uses their time magic at crucial, yet seemingly inconsequential moments.

Rewinding by mere seconds to offset someone's pacing, freezing items in time to neutralize their weight, all as they're still learning to use their abilities. For Jack, it's never about their power, but what they can do with their power. It's how they implement their time magic that made Jack a threat.

Entities from all over took an interest in Jack, leaning toward opposition, to test Jack's might. Through it all, Jack's resolve was tested. Though some threats were tougher than others, Jack conquered them all.

One particular threat, came from Jack themselves; or rather, an alternate version of Jack. Jaxon Hughes, a mage hunter. With similar trials to Jack, Jaxon took a different path; rebuking all magic-users. He developed a fighting style specifically for countering various forms of magic. Jack being the cause of this rift practically summoned Jaxon along with several other alternate versions of Jack, and they were forced to battle for supremacy.

In other news I’m positive these two have scraped in a Denny’s parking lot. And a Walmart parking lot. And probably the burnt down Toys R Us that was formerly a thrift store that was formerly a dress shop that Jeckyll comes from.

They aren’t even from the same universe. They break quantum physics just to fight each other.

Also yes Jeckyll is wearing a spider themed church hat. He likes his spiders, it’s a magic thing. Certain haters could never understand. /silly

About The Liminal Order

From Jack's Multiverse

The Liminal Order are an organization of humans that protect the integrity of the multiverse. They're stationed at the nexus point, a place where all of the timelines converge. The point exists on it's own plane; the liminal plane.

Their calling card, the willow tree, is how their influence is recognized. Deities, multi-dimensional beings, time travelers, etc. all know of The Liminal Order, but that knowledge is limited outside what they do and who they are.

The truth is that The Liminal Order only has two members: Winston Hughes and his wife, Roberta. They are seemingly beings of infinite potential, but in reality they have achieved quantum immortality. Winston and Roberta remain at the nexus point on the liminal plane, while shifting their consciousness to different versions of themselves to defend the multiverse from whatever would be threatening it. They do this with an artifact; one Roberta created, known as "The Keystone of Destiny". So, in a way, there are an infinite number of members of The Liminal Order; but they are all Winston and Roberta Hughes. Every version of Winston and Roberta are aware of this and have united under one cause: To protect the multiverse from any threat.

Roberta, the architect of time; and Winston, a knight of the willow. Together they maintain balance. And though they can be omnipresent and nigh-omniscient, they are still human; and prone to lapses in judgement.

They should never have conceived Jack. Roberta knew what the outcome would be, and went along with it anyway. Knowing that they would end up in opposition, Roberta willingly set things in motion. Perhaps her decision would mean the destruction of the multiverse, maybe just the order itself, but Roberta had hopes for their child. Maybe something good could come of all the chaos that would lie ahead. Maybe Roberta could see something coming and knew that this would be the only way to stop it.

Jack's Multiverse is a story I started writing inspired by my adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. The best character I've ever played Jack, became known as the Archmage of Time.
