G. « Uuh! Siete state in Franciaaa? » domanda con tutto l’interesse del caso. [...] « Bè.. almeno siete state bene, no?

"It's not too late, let's go." - Fictober 2023 Original Fic - Chosen Rating: G Warnings: Allusions to possible future death of POV & other characters
It's not too late, let's go!
You can't quite get the words out. You think it, as hard as you can, in Siofra's direction, but you know it won't do anything. She can't hear you.
Telepathy. Not actually among your many abilities, despite what some may think.
We don't have to do this!
This isn't going to end well. You know it. Siofra knows it. Hell, their so-called "Chosen One" knows it, too. Everyone knows it.
No one wants to admit it.
No one wants to be the one to say it, put it out into the universe or whatever.
This is not the first time you've been given this task. If you make it back, it won't be the last.
But each time you do it your chances of returning get smaller and smaller.
You're so tired.

10 First Lines
Rules: Share the first line of your last ten published works or as many as you are able and see if there are any patterns!
(I'm going by latest updated not by the last "published" dates because that's too much work to search through.)
Eventide (everlark): Peeta lunged forward on the decorative rug stretched out before him for what was probably the fifth time that night.
Da mi diebus mille (jamieclaire): Claire Beauchamp stretched her legs up the three steep steps towards the entrance of the plane.
She Moved Through the Fair (everlark): All around, dandelions that have gone to seed whip around us, dotting the edge of the landscape of waving green grass where train and prairie meet.
I would recognise you... (jamieclaire - also longer line since the first were straight up book quotes): “I was dead. Everything around me was a blinding white. And there was a soft rushing sound like the wings of angels. I felt peaceful. And bodiless. Free of terror. Free of rage. Filled with a quiet happiness.” A soft warmth brushed my hand.
Blood Pearl/Neamhnaid Fola (jamieclaire): Jamie played with the scratchy ruffles sewed to the cuffs of his sleeves, impatient.
Wild Rose (everlark): The blue sky stretches for miles, letting the heat sneak in and saturate the air with a clinginess that can only ever belong to the final long stretch of days of the summer season.
The Sassenach Faerie (jamieclaire): The sun had not yet peaked over the grey monoliths up on the hill.
Soup of Life (outlander fix-it): It was a veritable feast for a small creature such as him.
Chocolate, churros, princesses, and scarves (jamieclaire): “Claire, mo ghraidh, mo Sorcha, I love ye so verra much-” Jamie gulped, the bob of his throat catching Claire’s eyes. “Will ye-”
roses love sunshine, violets love dew (everlark): In and out. In and out. The blond lashes steady me.

It's Not Usually This Hard
Bold Barbarian attempts to flirt with the Oblivious Cleric, requested by @breadforhowl, thank you!!!
It's been an off day for Morn, that's the only reasoning they could come up with as to why Liùsaidh, the party's cleric, was acting so frustratingly normal. It's fun to make Liù flustered, she seems so innocent for someone who's older than Morn, though she insists that 25 is "NOT that old". That being said, nothing seems to be landing right today. --
Morn POV Morn got an early start today. They got their first cup of olisuba tea and sat in the kitchen by the window, waiting for their chance to partake in one of their favorite hobbies - flustering the cleric. When Liùsaidh came floating into the room, "Hey morning Liù. I was wondering who it was, I was blinded by the sun until you came into view". She yawned and stretched her arms above her head. "Oh, hi Morn. Are you hungover again? I can give you a lesser restoration if you're feeling photosensitive...". "No, I had my amulet on so I couldn't get drunk last night. What I meant was, do you know the spell that lets you speak any language?" Liù’s brows knitted together in confusion, "I do, I don't have access to Comprehend Languages, but I do know Tongues." Morn smirked like a rabbit had just triggered the trap they’d hidden, "You can cast tongues on me any time that you want, cutie." They were smugly waiting for Liu to turn pink when she admitted, "Maybe I'm not awake enough yet because I don't follow, but sure yeah, if you have someone you need to talk to let me know and I'll prepare it this morning for you". Morn took a long frustrated sip of their tea, they were going to need it today. -- Slowing their pace while the party was walking to their next destination, Morn called out, "Oi, Liù! Is that a staff in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" All the while waggling eyebrows at their fellow half-orc. Liù grinned and stuck her hands in her pocket, flinging them back out with excitement, "No! It's a gun, Two-Coats gave it to me!!" she smiled smugly adding, "I knew that baldy was holding out on us!"
Morn silently stalked back to the front of the group after their second unsuccessful flirtation. Oh, for fucks sake. Who let the cleric have a gun?? Fucking wizard bastard.
-- The party settled down in camp after traveling for the day and the timing seemed right for Morn to try again, after all, the third time is the charm. In mock awe they started, "Wow Liù, are you on fire because you are SMOKING!" All of a sudden, she stands up, which was not what Morn expected to happen. "What?! Have I sat too close to the fire? Did my dress catch? Oh, Vonatha preserve me, what was the phrase? Stop, drop, and roll!" As Liùsaidh dropped to the ground and proceeded to roll around attempting to put out the absent flames.
Is she actually just... stupid? -- After Liùsaidh’s panic subsided, the party attempted to settle in for the night. If there was ever a time for a last ditch effort, it was now. In the preternatural silence of the night, Morn whispered, “Psst, hey Liùsaidh. Liùsaaaaaaaaidh”, the entire party tried to ignore the fact that Liùsaidh stopped midsnore to roll over and look at Morn, “mmmm, yeah Morn? Everythin’ all right?” She murmured, eyes just barely open. Still whispering, Morn asked “Did it hurt?” Eyebrows knit together in what has become an all too familiar expression, “huh, wha?” Attempting to ignore their frustration, Morn raised their voice a little more, “Did it hurt? You know, when you fell from heaven?”
One beat.
Two beats.
A third. Inhale and...
snore.
If anyone else was awake, all they’d hear, besides the snoring, was a faint, disgruntled “fuck it” as a body rolled back over.
--
Liusaidh POV
One beat.
Two beats.
A third. Inhale and...
Oh gods, pretend to snore. Repeat until asleep.
Vonatha preserve me, Morn is so funny, but they ought to be more careful with how they say things. Sometimes it makes me feel like they’re flirting with me. I have to stop thinking that, we’re coworkers for gods’ sake. Dagda, give me strength.

@liusaidh-writing is a brilliant writer! (And a mom like myself. I know it’s not easy.) She still manages to produce beautiful intriguing work. I cannot wait to read “One More Try” and “The Lighthouse” on my vacation!
So, quick writing update for those interested:
1. Thank you so, so much for the kind comments over at AO3 and here for The Lighthouse! I am so glad you read and enjoyed it! ♥️
2. Do No Harm updates in the works right now! I will post if I ever get a second alone without these children I birthed hanging on me nonstop. I'll see how it goes and let you know more when I know more!
3. Someone asked about Instruments of Flight. So, I've got it (mostly) planned out to the end and I am desperate to sit and write it all so I can complete that story once and for all. This may have to wait til my kids are in school. That story, more than any other, is so exhausting emotionally and it takes a lot out of me to write it. So I appreciate the patience and understanding as you continue to wait, wait, wait.
Thanks again for the lovely comments, likes, and general support. ♥️
Edit: please go read @jensky2000's fic because it is 1000% better than mine and she is a hoot. ♥️ (Mental note to buy her book.)

Hi everyone, I'm here just to say that this film is amazing and same goes for Karen Gillan who wrote, directed and starred it.
I didn't really know the plot before watching it and I thought it was a normal, light and somehow funny film ????? well let me say that it's not, I was totally wrong. I admit that for the first half an hour I did understand almost nothing of what was going on but still amazing, you should really watch it. It's really deep and intense and idk, I was totally in, I understood how she was feeling more or less and... wow, my god. Mamma mia.
Again, you should watch it (tbh Karen Gillan should be already a very good reason to do so)
That's it, that's the post. Thanks for your attention.

Needed mega magick today and I was lucky enough to receive it. I decided to put that luck into wands. Or maybe they put it into me? Been getting the wands and stands ready for the up coming months. Last year when I ran out that was all everyone asked for and I wasn't able to prep more of them to be ready because the holiday was bustling. I have added these beauties to the website and will add 5 or 6 more this month, then that is all that will be. The moon grows bright and the air becomes crisp. ✨ Thank you for the love sent towards Holden. I do appreciate it. 💜 Much gratitude. #Liùsaidh #Wand #LiùsaidhWand #AndTheSkyWasMadeOfAmethyst #evilpawnjewelry #magick #witchy #quartz #crystal #sphere #epj #AdornYourselfInMetal #Liusaidh #AdornYourselfInquartz https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn9LkuIhalC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=15oy4dt1ybpwd

THE FANGHEART CLANSMEN
hello hello hello and welcome to the post on the fangheart clansmen (or at least the main characters i’ll write abt) !! i’ve had this planned for a while and i’m glad i’m finally able to write this up!! in the last post, i covered the general overview of the fangheart clan, its customs, and rites. bit wordy ofc but it is what it is!!
✧ word count: 1004 ✵ warnings: none! ✧ tags: madmen of the reach, fangheart clan, chief nathair, the clansmen, mild lore ✧ characters: nathair, iseult, sloane, n other ocs <33
✵ tag list: @reachfolk, @faolan-red-eagle, ask to be added <33
Nathair Fionn Tadgh (he/him) is the head healer, and war-chief of the Fangheart clan. He is the tactician of the clan, as well as their main and most reliable representative of their clan to other clans outside of the vicinity of the Karthsruth and Karthspire camps. He is a full-blooded Reachman and Forsworn chief, son of Erin Boann Eachaid and Fionn Alister Cuinn. He is the older half-brother and adoptive father of Iseult Darcia Renoit and cousin of Sloane Liagh Aodha. He is sharp-witted but mild in temperament and amazingly difficult to faze, typically very calm and level-headed. He is a good-natured man with a deep love for his people, but along with that love is a dangerous fierceness to do whatever it takes to reclaim the Reach.
Iseult Darcia Renoit (she/her) is Nathair’s younger half-sister and adoptive daughter. She is one of the younger members of the clan at just twelve years old. She joined at the age of six after being brought to the camp by her cousin Sloane after her mother’s death and was then raised by Nathair. She regards him as her father and older brother, and is the clan’s mischief-maker. She is just as wily as Nathair, though with less appreciation for leadership and more interest in blowing things up because she can.
Sloane Liagh Aodha (she/her) is Nathair’s cousin. She is a Reachwoman, but does not identify as such and does not agree with the motives and methods of the forsworn. Though this is her birth name, she typically goes by the name of Sloane Hughes and calls herself a Breton. She is a talented and renowned spellsword, especially for her skill in swordsmanship and elemental magic. She is cold and unwelcoming especially to those seeking to make friendships, having been burnt one too many times in the past. While she refuses to serve the interests of the forsworn, she refuses to act against them, and prefers to stay far, far away from the Reach.
Erin Boann Eachaid † (they/she) was Nathair and Iseult’s mother. She was a member of clan Fangheart as a healer, but abandoned the Reach after the Markarth incident after witnessing her husband’s death and assuming that Nathair was dealt the same fate. She left for high rock and lived there for twenty-six years, having her daughter Iseult with Denis Renoit after the fourteenth year. She raised her daughter on her own after Renoit abandoned her, and she later died of illness after briefly reuniting with her niece Sloane. She was a caring, if not panicky woman, and was not at all a bad mother.
Fionn Alister Cuinn † (he/they) was Nathair’s father and the last vateshran of the old Fangheart clan, as well as a seer. He died during the Markarth incident, slain for rescuing an innocent from one of Ulfric’s men. He was a good-natured, protective, and forgiving man. His son took after his temperament, as well as his skill in storytelling.
(Most Important) Clansmen of Tribe Fangheart:
Liùsaidh: (she/her) matriarch of the clan and head of social, cultural, and spiritual affairs, Liùsaidh is a hagraven and was Nathair’s mentor in the art of magic. She is the oldest member of the clan and is dedicated to keeping each and everyone one of the Fangheart Clansmen safe and sound. She is known for being very humorous and generous especially with knowledge, though she is quick-tempered and refuses to hold any sense of subtlety, much to Nathair’s exasperation.
Aine Eimear Dubhghall: (she/they) Nathair’s second-in-command and a brilliant warrior. She is Diarmund’s twin sister, was Sloane’s childhood friend, and was Nathair’s mentee in the art of alchemy. She is an offensive fighter and is the head hunter of the tribe, training aspiring hunters and instructing them as they undergo the hunter’s rite. Aine is also like Nathair, good-natured, though far more friendly and outgoing in contrast to his introversion. Surprisingly, she is mild tempered and slow to anger, though surviving her wrath after pissing her off is a feat in and of itself.
Diarmund Aimon Bhaird: (he/him) a talented mage and the clan’s youngest Briarheart, Diarmund is one of Liùsaidh’s favorites for his skill in conjuration. He is Aine’s twin brother and was Sloane’s childhood friend. As a Briarheart, he guards the heart of Karthsruth camp and rarely ventures out when scouting, preferring to stay home and watch over his clansmen. Unlike his sister and Nathair, he is standoffish and difficult to familiarize oneself with. Once past that stage though, it’s easy to see he’s standoffish because he can be awkward. He has, however, very good intentions and is overall, a very considerate man.
Saoirse Anrai: (they/them) clan Fangheart’s one and only vateshran. They are a storyteller and an excellent singer, having trained for the role ever since the Markarth incident. They are the most wary and untrusting of outsiders next to Aine, but it isn’t without just reason. They record clan Fangheart and the Reach’s history, taking great care to relay their stories to the next generation. Though they are quiet and soft-spoken, they are deeply passionate about the causes and people they care for in their own, somewhat thorny way.
Extra note: Fangheart names are typically made up of three names, though there are exceptions to this. The typical three name structure is composed of:
[given name] [mother/father’s name] [chosen descriptive name]
The middle name is typically based on the parent and child’s gender.
Hagravens let go of their given, parent’s, and chosen name to choose an entirely new one, typically to describe their experience their experience as they fully transformed into a hagraven. Liùsaidh, for example, saw flashes of light.
Vateshrans let go of their parent’s name. This is because every Reachman keeps their parent’s name to signify their origin. Vateshrans are children of the Reach as a whole, and thus let go of their parent’s name. They then take the last name Anrai, as a signifier that they are a vateshran, and finally choose a first name to go with it.

365 Favorite Characters
#84: Liusaidh
Here’s another brand new addition to the list, a film I just watched the other day. These dark, depressing English and Scottish films disguising themselves as quirky are really getting me this year. Karen Gillan (aka Scottish Ellie Kemper) is amazing, and she wrote and directed this film, too.
