DC x DP Prompt *13*
Of course something like this would happen, while Bruce was out of state with Alfred. Some business for Wayne Enterprises had come up and after he was sure the kids had everything under control in his absence, he left.
If Tim had known this would happen, he would have volunteered to go instead of Bruce. But his newest case had just been to intriguing.
Tim looked at Damian, Dick and Jason. They seemed to feel the same way as him.
Tim just had wanted to look something up before dinner! He had found the two floating Toddlers in the Batcave. And after he send a quick emergency signal up to the Manor his brothers had come down prepared for a fight.
Instead all they saw where two black haired three-year old Twins, who were either bothering the poor Bats or crawling into the mouth of the T-Rex.
"You can order Pizza, I'm not going to deal with... this", was all Jason said with disdain, before he left for the stairs to the Manor.
And yeah... absolutely understandable. Tim would do the same if he could.
"Dick, get the pool net. Damian, prepare a room. I'm going to call Uncle Clark and ask him how to handle flying Toddlers", a deep sight escaped Tim.
Why had it be today, when Alfred wasn't here.

ok serious question: how would i hide my transition from my transphobic parents? i want to start T when i go back to college but my fear of what my parents might do to me if they found out is one of my hangups (the other one being seeing a doctor by myself for the first time but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it). i feel like increased fat and body hair is innocuous enough but im afraid a deeper voice would be a dead giveaway. what the hell do i do

I'm trying to find ways to slowly ease my way into taking walks (debilitating social anxiety) so I was going to download pokemon go again but my phone is too old :(
#im actually very upset abt this lol#all of the other tricks ive found rely on having a dog to walk#and like i would love to get my own dog but i absolutely cannot afford one lmao#so i guess i just. still can't go on walks#nobody seems to understand just how impossible it is for me to walk down the street when im not trying to get somewhere#like just going for a walk for fun/to look at nature feels like im being killed#people are LOOKING at me and when someone even so much as glances at me while im walking i instantly feel like I'm doing something wrong#or like they're going to misunderstand my sort of odd behaviors#i can't walk slow because they'll think im a stalker. i can't walk fast because ill get out of breath and they'll think im disgusting#i can't keep a normal pace because im too nervous and i just spend the whole time tense and hate myself even more when i get home#like. what the hell am i supposed to do lol#getting a dog is the only way i think i could stop myself from spiraling like that bc of COURSE im walking slow and leisurely.#im walking my dog. my dog wants to smell and has to poop or whatever#im no longer a freaky fat stalker im just some guy walking my dog#this became more of a vent than i was expecting lmao but if anyone has any actual tangible tips for how to go on walks i would appreciate it#when i had to walk 2 miles to class i used to take a small part of an edible right before i got on the bus lmao and that worked WONDERS#but i don't want to have to do that just to walk around my own neighborhood when i eventually move out#i just want to be normal lmao i want to go out and find bugs and look at leaves#i guess i could walk in the woods but what if i get lost#i want to be able to look at stuff. i want to be able to stop and look at a plant while some person passes by me#without feeling like im going to blow up or like they're going to hit me or like IM going to hit THEM#im used to anxiety but i always feel so erratic in public places. when everyone wore masks i was a little better#i still mask most of the time but it doesn't help anymore bc now im like one of the only people that does it#so now instead of blending in AND having my face covered i just stand out more#my face is still covered so it still helps but its like barely a net positive lmao#i want to be able to look around without worrying that someone is looking at me from their window and thinks im a stalker#truly how the hell am i supposed to do that without a dog lol

I think one of my biggest fantasies in life is being able to live somewhere/with someone that I can come and go as I please. Have my own car, not have to rely on other people or explain why I can’t be home of take care of people/the dog/etc. at all time. People think I’m greedy for wanting a well-paying job but having to take care of people you’re dependant on is really shitty and money would 100% solve this problem.

(this poem brought to you by my house's AC being broke and me suffering from that. this is pov k'pheli from ~roughly a little bit after ifrit but before toto-rak, feat. meandering and some self-worth issues)
the air is still
and silent
and stifling
each breath
a battle
each movement
an entire feat
i ache
and swim
through the waves
that my mind
has melted into
i am many
things, strong and
quiet and trying
so, so hard
to be good
so tis best
to
suffer
silently
lest i be
a burden
lest y'all
get tired
of my presence
i don't want to be a burden
(i am merely a weapon to be used)

Gross Pay vs Net Pay: The Ultimate Take-Home Pay Calculator Guide for Accurate Salary Estimations
When it comes to salary and compensation, two important terms always pop up: gross pay and net pay. Understanding the difference between these two figures is crucial in knowing how much you earn before and after deductions. Additionally, with the help of a take-home pay calculator, individuals can easily determine how much they will actually receive in their paycheck after all deductions are made. Whether you’re looking to better understand your gross pay or figure out your net pay, this guide will walk you through both concepts, and help you make sense of it all.
Tumblr media
What is Gross Pay?
Gross pay refers to the total amount of income an employee earns before any deductions are made. This includes salary or hourly wages, overtime pay, bonuses, and any other additional earnings. Gross pay is the figure listed on your employment contract and is often the starting point in understanding your overall compensation.
In simpler terms, if you're using a take-home pay calculator, you'll first input your gross pay. The calculator will then use this figure to determine your net pay, after factoring in the deductions.
What is Net Pay?
Net pay, on the other hand, is the amount of money that an employee takes home after all deductions have been made. These deductions may include taxes, insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and other voluntary or mandatory deductions. It’s important to understand that the net pay figure is what actually ends up in your bank account, not your gross pay.
This is where a take-home pay calculator comes in handy. By using a calculator, you can easily calculate your net pay by factoring in various deductions that apply to you.
Understanding Deductions and Their Impact on Net Pay
Deductions are one of the biggest factors that reduce your gross pay and impact your net pay. These deductions can be mandatory (such as federal and state taxes) or voluntary (such as contributions to a 401(k) plan or other employee benefits).
Some common deductions that affect net pay include:
Federal Income Tax
State and Local Taxes
Social Security and Medicare Contributions
Health Insurance Premiums
Retirement Contributions
Union Dues or Other Contributions
Using a take-home pay calculator, you can easily input these deductions and calculate your net pay.
How to Calculate Gross Pay
Gross pay is straightforward to calculate if you're an employee with a fixed salary. If you’re salaried, it’s simply your annual salary divided by the number of pay periods in the year (e.g., 12 for monthly paychecks, 26 for bi-weekly paychecks).
However, if you work on an hourly basis or earn commissions, you’ll need to account for the hours worked or commission-based earnings. A take-home pay calculator can help make this calculation easier by letting you input hourly rates and total hours worked.

However, if you work on an hourly basis or earn commissions, you’ll need to account for the hours worked or commission-based earnings. A gross pay and net pay calculator can help make this calculation easier by letting you input hourly rates and total hours worked.
How to Calculate Net Pay
Calculating net pay can be a bit more complicated due to the different types of deductions. The basic formula is:
Net Pay = Gross Pay – Deductions
However, calculating your deductions manually can be cumbersome and complex. This is why many people turn to a gross pay and net pay calculator to simplify the process. These calculators automatically factor in federal and state tax rates, insurance premiums, and other deductions based on your location and personal preferences.
Using a Take-Home Pay Calculator
A gross pay and net pay calculator is an essential tool for anyone who wants to understand how much they will actually take home after deductions. By entering your gross pay, the calculator will automatically compute your net pay after considering federal and state taxes, social security, and other deductions.
Here are a few features a good gross pay and net pay calculator should have:
Tax Calculation: The calculator should automatically calculate federal, state, and local taxes.
Custom Deductions: It should allow you to input additional deductions like retirement contributions and insurance premiums.
Results in Real Time: A good calculator will show you the results quickly, so you don’t have to wait long to understand your take-home pay.
Frequency Options: Choose from weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or annual pay frequencies to get a more accurate estimate.
With such features, a gross pay and net pay calculator makes it easy for anyone to figure out how much they will be earning on their paycheck after taxes and other deductions.
Factors That Can Impact Your Take-Home Pay
Several factors can influence your net pay. The following are some of the most common variables that may affect your take-home pay:
Filing Status: If you're married, single, or have dependents, your filing status will determine your tax bracket and deductions, which in turn affect your net pay.
State Tax Rates: Each state has its own tax rate, so the state in which you live plays a significant role in determining your net pay.
Health Insurance and Benefits: If you contribute to your employer's health insurance plan, those premiums will be deducted from your gross pay.
Retirement Contributions: Contributions to a 401(k) or other retirement plans will also affect your net pay. Some plans may be tax-deferred, which could impact how much you owe in taxes.
For a detailed analysis of your specific situation, a gross pay and net pay calculator can help you quickly estimate the effect of these factors on your overall net pay.
Why Gross Pay vs Net Pay is Important
It’s essential to know the difference between gross pay and net pay because they both serve different purposes. Gross pay is what you’re technically earning before any deductions, while net pay is the real-world figure that reflects how much money you’ll actually receive. Many people make the mistake of budgeting based on their gross pay, only to be shocked when they see how much less they take home.
This is why using a gross pay and net pay calculator is important—it ensures that you’re budgeting accurately, based on the amount you’ll truly receive. Whether you’re comparing job offers, setting a budget, or planning for the future, understanding both gross and net pay is key to managing your finances.
Conclusion
Gross pay and net pay are two crucial components of any employee’s salary. While gross pay reflects the total amount earned before deductions, net pay is the amount that actually ends up in your bank account. By using a gross pay and net pay calculator, you can more easily estimate your net pay and plan your finances accordingly.
If you need help calculating your salary, whether it’s gross pay or net pay, head over to MyWageCalculator to get a precise, user-friendly calculation tool to understand your earnings and deductions better.

The boys still couldn’t believe it. They had just taken down Makarov, Johnny barely surviving it, and now they were somewhere in America, in a beach house with a strip of private beach. All curtesy of Kate, apparently it belonged to her family but was hardly used, so the boys using it was a welcome change.
They had been uncertain if they wanted to accept the (paid for) vacation, but after they all finally got released from the hospital, Price decided it was time for a break and some relaxation. So, they packed their bags and flew to the States. Kate had given them a brief introduction on what was where over the phone and the excitement grew, especially when she mentioned that there was scuba diving equipment.
So, the moment they arrived, after quickly dumping their stuff in the entry way and changing, they grabbed the equipment and set out into the waters. Even Simon couldn’t suppress a small smile or hide his excitement. At first, they stayed fairly close to the surface, but after Johnny saw a colorful fish he wanted to follow, they continued on into deeper waters. And that was when they heard it.
At first, it sounded like a wounded animal, but nothing like anything they had heard before. Either way, a sudden protectiveness coursed through them as they followed the sound to the source. And then they saw it. Or rather her. You.
Your tail had gotten stuck in an abandoned fishing net and you couldn’t get out. Originally, you had tried to reach your people with your cries, but no one came. Well, except for these four men suddenly in front of you. The few encounters you had with humans so far, had never ended well, so no one could blame you when you shrunk back in fear, reaching for the dagger that usually rested in its sheath on your hip, but you had lost it when you tried to free yourself earlier.
The men and you starred at each other for a few moments, before one of them approached. Immediately you tried to swim away, momentarily forgetting about the net, but you were immediately pulled back as the rope cut into your scales. A pained wail escaped you, as blood slowly seeped into the water. The man quickly raised his hands, before slowly gesturing to the net and then to his thigh, where you could see a small knife. You could see his eyebrows raise, as if asking for permission, and you slowly nodded, hoping that they would just let you go afterwards.
He mirrored your nod, before slowly approaching you and taking out his knife. With precision that was unknown to you, he cut through the rope until you were free. Out of reflex, you darted away, your tail swishing hard enough to send the man back a bit, making him loose his grip on the knife and you watched as it disappeared into the darkness. You glanced back at the four, before diving into the darkness, after the knife. Along with it, you found your dagger, which you put back in its place, before swimming back up, just to see the four still there, as if they hadn’t moved. Slowly, you swam up to the man who freed you and held out the knife with both hands, a small smile gracing your lips.
He took it from you, nodding in thanks. After one more glance over all of them, you turned around and swam back to your home, taking a few detours in case they were following you. But when you came to rest later that day, you mind stayed with the men. No matter what you did, you couldn’t stop thinking about them. And little did you know that they had the exact same problem.
