a proposal for symbology, and a flag, for the holothere/holotherian label.

"Holothere" is a term for physical nonhumanity, coined by @defrostedvertebrae. A holothere considers themselves entirely nonhuman, including physically.

Here are my ideas, and their justification.

Symbol design:

Invoking the sun: Altering the theta, turning it into the astrological symbol for the sun, to invoke clarity and confidence.

Letting the sun shine through the vessel: Breaking the delta/del open, the light of self overpowering it.

Inverting the delta: Inverting the delta (and turning it into a del, or nabla), to symbolize the shedding of the need for changing/transforming. This can also represent a shift in energy from fire to water, or from intensity to stability.

Flag design:

Nonhuman Unity: The colors are inspired by the Nonhuman Unity flag designed by foxsee, with the addition of the lighter colors intended to invoke a deeper sense of inclusion among creatures using different nonhuman labels across the alterhuman spectrum.

The power of light: The sun is shining through, its light is breaking through barriers, coloring everything around it. This is meant to communicate the intention to be Real, the intention to be Seen, the intention to be Bright.

Notes:

The sun and the del/nabla have unicode characters, so there is potential for the unicode representation "☉∇" for the sun-del.

EVERIQUE (Updated Flag + Carrd)

Everique is a term to describe when one views their entire identity as queer, and thus views all of their attractions as such. It can be used as a modifier alongside other labels or as a term on its own. There could be a multitude of explanations for this, some of which are (but are not limited to):

Being trans and having a complicated relationship/history with your sexuality because of that.

Being multigender and/or genderfluid and therefore experiencing queer attraction regardless of who you're attracted to.

Being non-binary and not fitting binary definitions of queer vs. not queer.

Being m-spec and feeling as though all of your attractions are queer because you are m-spec.

Being a system/collective where the line between individual identities is blurred.

Being angled a-spec and experiencing "straight" attraction through a queer lens due to being a-spec.

Simply being queer and resonating with the term's meaning.

Many, many more.

This term is meant to encompass everyone in the community. If you feel this applies to you, use it. There are no limits to this term. This term is inclusive of m-spec lesbians and gays, lesboys and turigirls, romeogirls/darcygirls and julietboys/bennetboys, multigender and genderfluid individuals, gaybians/velaurians, loveless individuals, non-traumagenic systems, etc.

The new flag is very reminiscent of the original, but with a few alterations and added meaning to the design.

The descending rainbow for each of the bigger stripes are supposed to resemble the whole of the queer community and how everyone is included under the label Everique.

The white is supposed to resemble the 'everyone inbetween'. The identities that are often left out of discussions and pride, the identities that are often forgotten, dismissed or attacked even by members of their own community.

The purple in the middle is to resemble unity and togetherness for all queer people, meant to be a nod to the chevron queer flag.

Everique has a new symbol, that being a rose. It symbolizes love, happiness, positivity and (again) unity. Each petal of a rose is still connected to the same bud of the flower, much like how all queer identities are still connected under the shared experience of being queer, regardless of their differences from each other.

Here are some transparent images of the term's symbol, but any rose can be used to symbolize Everique.

The love this term has gotten has meant the world to us, but it was our first term ever. The original flag, while cute and charming, was made with very little flag-making knowledge. None of the colors held significant meaning.

You are still more than welcome to use the original flag if you feel it fits you best, but this is the one that has resonated with us the most and we feel encompasses what Everique is.

Wentworth Manor

Hello Simmers, get ready for a game of Beer Pong at the Wentworth Manor . A former family home converted into a Fraternity. This is a requested build which I was so excited to do! I would also like to say a massive thank you to all you guys for your support- we just hit 8k on Tiktok!

Fraternities have been impacted by the increase of off-campus housing starts in recent years. The Wentworth's examined their existing house and determined that for them to remain competitive, they needed to upgrade and increase their common amenity space.

In this area, most houses were built in the 1920s and early ’30s, affording a certain unity in design and volume, although many were altered in the post-war years. Most followed one of two architectural styles of the period—Collegiate Tudor/Gothic or Georgian Revival. This property includes a spacious foyer, 5 bedrooms, large bathroom, traditional kitchen, entertainment room, library and a casual living and dinning room. Th backyard also accommodates for a pool and deck for outdoor cooking. While majority of the features have been maintained by the Wentworth's, each student is more than free to decorate their own spaces as they see fit.

ANYWAYS sob here is Darunia's official redesign for the OOT rewrite full notes and thought process below the cut:

All my goron designs involve giving them less cartoonish and caricature-like features and proportions, so of course that was the first thing I tackled here. I made him very square-and-solid looking. I wanted him to have an appearance that read both as very dignified and also very personable. One should be able to tell at a glance that he is someone who commands a great deal of respect and is worthy of that respect, while also being approachable and trustworthy. Simultaneously larger than life and down to earth. His expression is stern, but with an undertone of warmth. In the original game, Darunia seemed to me like a character who wasn't really meant to be taken seriously, but for our version we want to give the opposite impression. When Darunia speaks, you will listen. I intend for him to be a character that commands respect both from the other characters around him and from the audience as well.

Aside from that, his defining characteristics remain, especially his beard and hair which are what make his silhouette most easily distinguishable. Rather than changing very much I mostly just added more, like his accessories, clothes and tattoos. Many people in the past have pointed out that the gorons, in oot especially, have many elements that appear to be based off various cultures from across the African continent, but again, especially in oot, that was done rather insensitively. So I also decided to look to the west African region in particular for some inspiration for my Darunia redesign. I ended up using mostly references from Ghana after searching through a few different sources, and the traditional clothing there influenced how I dressed Darunia, like with the brightly coloured and patterned cloth of his waist-wrap thing and his sandals-- which from now on I have decided to draw all gorons wearing sandals. The cloth Darunia wears is not fully patterned like those from Ghana since I played around with a few different patterns before settling on this, but in the future I may try drawing something more 1-1.

His tattoos are also based off the Adinkra symbols. Researching the Adinkra symbols was very exciting and interesting for me, and there were many that were perfectly suited for the things I had planned. I didn't want to just copy them directly, so I made slightly altered versions of some of the symbols with their original meanings. My hope is that anyone familiar with the Adinkra symbols would easily recognize them as the source, and be able to tell which fantasy versions are derived from which real ones, with or without the meaning listed alongside it. The ones I referenced for Darunia specifically were the Dwennimmen, meaning humility and strength, the Akoben meaning vigilance and wariness-- which is depicted on his necklace-- the Nkonsonkonson meaning unity, or brotherhood, and the Aya meaning endurance and resourcefulness. The anvil symbol, the one representing Temna/creation/ingenuity, is one I invented imitating the existing symbols' style. I chose these for their meanings, which I feel represent Darunia's character well, and seem like the kinds of things he would value and choose for himself to wear.

The red tattoo sleeve framing the goron ruby is meant to represent streams of lava flowing down the mountainside. This one single element gave me more grief than any other part of the redesign, I went though so many drafts of just that one tattoo and it was what caused this redesign to take so long! Though now that I have emerged victorious from the bloodstained battlefield (clip studio paint), I am very pleased with the final result!

Also, you may notice that the ring on his left thumb looks remarkably like the game's power bracelet. That's because it is the power bracelet! WEEK 2

this week we had a lecture from Lauren about the ethics and cultural bias present in using AI. my personal thoughts on AI is that while I don't agree with its moral implications and dislike how forced it is with including it in every current piece of technology, I have benefited from it over the past three years. specifically when requiring concept art for larger speculative project as well as in the global project when I resorted to using ChatGPT to troubleshoot coding errors when creating our 2D game within Unity.

the afternoon session had group tutorials with Lara, Sophie and Lauren. it was really reassuring to hear their thoughts and input on my current proposal. I felt as though I was struggling to tie in all of the ethical points raised last semester however once I had read the original story of the one eyed hare, they reassured me that this narrative would definitely work and will hit all of the points I would like to make. this was great to hear however I would still like to alter the original myth slightly to make it new so that it is more loosely based on the story and more "inspired by".

this week I also started to create a physical model of the protagonist/ hare character. I used a combination of wire, tin foil and air dry clay to create a base that I would be able to build on and dress in a way that I could 3D scan with LiDar. I chose to do this as I feel it could be easier to physically make a model, scan it and then put it into a software such as blender so that there will be less mechanical work when turning it into a playable character in unreal engine.

During this week, I decided to start looking into the videos I had come across over the past few weeks on YouTube about marketing and success/ failures within the industry. from Eastshade Studio's video on indie marketing ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCzhyUsDHPE&list=PLMRFdyRgelswe8NNSFa5d3i26Nrk-QZDb&index=18 ) I have picked up on the following:

research the current market of your video game genre. look at the successful games but also look at the mid tier games as well as the "failures" try and pick up on common traits from each game to gain a better understanding of what is likely to sell.

within these three categories, pay attention to their trailers, screenshots, graphics, art style, UI, performance, features, scope, content, reviews, actual gameplay.

find the revenue bracket that you would like to be in and start creating case studies. ignore the outliers that are at the very very top of the revenue market and compete on every level with the others.

I then watched another video by Burback on video game marketing. this video was based more on video games as a whole but also the larger corporate AAA games. the points I took from this video were:

promises need to be delivered on. if a game is marketed with certain features or points, the final game needs to execute these to a high standard. the video states one main reason why Cyberpunk 2077 failed was because of the "false relationship of honesty with their customers" when customers trusted CD Projekt promised them the world.

the promotional material should match the player's experience. the reason why god of was more successful than cyberpunk 2077 when both of them were marketed while they were unfinished, was god of war's marketing relied solely on gameplay footage. many game trailers use cinematics and "not real gameplay" sections. in my opinion whenever I see a trailer like this, as a consumer, I get excited about a game because it looks great. I then see the not real gameplay disclaimer and am immediately put off buying or playing the game because more often or not the experience won't match that of what's being pitched to me.

the failures usually fall on the publisher, not the developer. while a dev team might be working on a broken game, the publishers are the ones selling false promises.

be realistic. don't announce or talk publicly about elements that aren't possible or haven't been achieved yet.

from the points raised over the past few weeks as well as those highlighted in the research lab, I have curated a survey that will aid in making decisions on directions to take my game. while the overall narrative has been decided, this survey will help fine-tune and demonstrate the importance of different aspects of games as well as their marketing. this survey is definitely only a starting point and I will do further research to either back up or contradict the decisions I make in regards to the game. however, hopefully it will point me in the right direction of what would become a successful indie game. I will post the survey on social media, where a range of demographics engage. this will hopefully give me insight into consumers that may not even call themselves a gamer as well as die hard video game fans. I will also create posters to display around the school of art to hopefully reach a wider audience and help prevent bias within the social media sample group.

Ok so lore dump:

Intially PIE was one of my 3 scp ideas, and the most complex/least humanoid one. PIE is an acronym for the union of PI (3.14etc), i (sq. rt. of -1), e (euler's constant). Motto: "For the irrational and unreal, we're essential!" (this is a math joke. I am a math nerd. We live with this fact every day of our lives)

The start of my attempt at a formatted file sums it up as:

"SCP-12321 is a group designation for a group of anomalous humanoids who appear to be connected to several otherwise unrelated SCPs. This group wear generic black clothing and carry cameras, microphones, duct tape, makeup, and assorted home improvement and home economic supplies, as well as handheld power tools and storage equipment. Clothing does not appear to be worn so much as either manifested or anomalously altered. The backs of shirts and jackets or hoodies worn by 12321 instances tend to read ‘Crew’ in bold lettering. 

Origin: Unknown. DNA samples left behind by 12321 instances and collected by Foundation agents have turned up thousands of results. Until recently, it was suspected to be arbitrary, but currently, over 700 of confrimed samples are matches to people currently working as technicians, camera operators, makeup artists, or special effects crews in various entertainment formats. Although several of the matched civilians are deceased or missing, there does not appear to be a correlating trend. "

Tldr, PIE is essentially IATSE or any other tech theatre union but an anomaly, and for anomalies! Sascha is a lower-tier member based on a combination of hours worked and unity with group (low unity, initial idea was that the instances are essentially all spawned from the same source, while Sascha hails from outside/has deviated sufficiently to have a name and identity chose).

Notable PIE-involving productions you may (or may not) have heard of: Multiple performances within Alagadda, majority of the renditions of the Hanged King's play, backstage crew of Laugh is Fun, technical setup for the Circus of Disquietment, operators for Bobble's show, and many more!

PIE members appear and disappear as needed (always out of sight), and are perpetually busy and dressed in stage blacks, accessorizing with half-aprons, tool belts, baseball caps, and rigging harnesses. The running gag here is that they're pretty much only seen between gigs (to make a metaphor out of it, the doorway between the theatre and the outside world), and continuously will talk to you but also declare they are "in a hurry, they really gotta go, please go through the union to set up a meeting" and then duck behind a corner to disappear with any equipment they're carrying.

Little blurb from an in-field interview:

"Field Interview. Participants: Agents Masha Kandinsky, Mir Rubenschtein, and Soo Cho, with three 12321 instances. Agent Kandinsky noted that while the clothing appeared to be just indistinct from entity from a distance, it resolved with proximity. Current theory is that instances rely on either illusion or shapeshifting for this effect. At time of interview, the 12321 instances were dismantling what looked like several boom lights and boom mics of unspecified make, placed into generic cases for transport. Agent Rubenschtein reported all instances had clothing imitating black jeans and black shirts, with the second instance wearing a polo rather than a t-shirt, and the second and third wearing a black beanie and fingerless gloves, respectively. Agent Cho noted that the transport cases, unlike the clothing, appeared to have details such as screws, metal grooves, and caster wheels even from a distance."

Artist Notes: I did this one earlier this year. I believe it took me a month to get it finished. I was working off and on it and procrastinating like I usually do. Based on the emails I turned it in around March 18? So, I guess I worked on it somewhere in late February and finished it mid March if I had to make a timeline.

I originally I remember being kind of stumped on how to make the theme “soulmates” into an art piece. So I started looking up fic prompts on it. I ended up ignoring what I found and just going with the vague idea of a wedding, the yin yang symbol, and the mfeo line Lucifer gave Sam (plus Micheal and Lucifer dress in white and black/gray which yells wedding parallels so...).

So, I looked up roses symbolism and supposedly white means purity, burgundy mainly means unconscious beauty, and red and white roses together mean unity. I’m not exactly sure what white and burgundy mean together, but since I think burgundy is pretty much a red I think it fits. And burgundy also means a very deep passion so it’s like red roses except more intense.

Too bad I didn’t mess around more with the number of roses. I have 30 in total at the bottom. 14 white and 16 burgundy. But these numbers don’t seem to mean anything? Nine is eternal love, 13 a secret admirer or forever friendship, 15 “I’m sorry/Please forgive me,” 40 is genuine love. Sadness, if I only thought ahead. Oh well, spilt milk.... but since it seems like my numbers don’t have a popular meaning it means I can make up whatever I want for them.

The butterflies are red-spotted purple butterflies that are native to Kansas. I only made two because I didn’t feel like making more. If it was a perfect world I’d have probably drawn more butterflies on the roses and some in the background.

There’s a lot of gilded baroque-ish ornaments because I wanted to make it a fancy church with lots of stain glass windows that color the church’s interior. Obviously Michael and Lucifer are archangels, so of course they have strategically placed halos. The dove is like blessing the union in a way.

The tree plants weren’t really any type of specific plant. They were there for framing purposes. I did play around with making the trees darker so it’d be a silhouette, but I couldn’t decide if that looked better or not. :/ I still can’t decide, but I did ask someone else and they liked the original version, so I went with that. Yolo.

I’m not going to point out mistakes because I’ve been told that is a bad practice....I’ll leave it at it’s not perfect, but I’m good with it. I’m really happy how soft Michael!Dean is snuggling Lucifer!Sam here.

I did noticed though that I printed version was different in coloration than the pdf/ebook version and that is because the colors that printers have are limited. I’m pretty sure we were warned about this, but I didn’t have the spoons to figure out or fix the limited or different color situation. So, the printed version came out more muted, but I’m good with it.

Also, yes. Sam is shorter because he’s sitting on a stone chair. Dean wasn’t all of a sudden taller, in case that wasn’t conveyed enough in the original.😅

10 December 2020: King Abdullah II inaugurated the 19th Parliament’s non-ordinary session and delivered the Speech from the Throne.

Addressing Jordanians, King Abdullah said in the speech: “You are the people of resolve. Let us show our patriotism in action, dedication and achievement, so that Jordan would remain strong and proud, and your heads remain held high.” Noting that Jordan is preparing to usher in the state’s centennial, His Majesty said: “Those who know this nation’s history, stand in awe of its journey, over a hundred years, as it stood tall and proud like Jordan’s mountains, and as it was built with the resolve of its people.” The King said Jordan has successfully held parliamentary elections, despite COVID-19, adding that the priority in dealing with the pandemic is the health and wellbeing of citizens, and continuing to safeguard the national economy. His Majesty noted that senators, representatives, and government officials must work as a team to advance Jordan’s national progress, in service of Jordanians. The three branches of power, the King stressed, must work within a framework of partnership and integration, and away from self-centred and narrow interests. “Public trust in state institutions is paramount, and this calls for further action to improve services, especially in the health, education and transportation sectors,” His Majesty said. The King also reaffirmed Jordan’s position on the Palestinian cause, noting that “denying the Palestinian people their just and legitimate rights is the very reason our region continues to suffer conflict and instability”. Ancient Genetics, The Ascendant, and Physical Appearance

 It’s been about two years since I posted a complete list for interpreting how the ascendant plays a part in the physical appearance and I think an updated version is long overdue. 

My original post was research mostly compiled from Evangeline Adam’s book “Your Place in the Sun.” At the time, I was really only just starting to get into astrology and thought this was somewhat of a holy grail for interpreting the ascendant. I had also obtained an illustrated book by Howard M. Duff titled, “Astrological Types.” The book showcases caricatures of each of the signs. This book was great for illustrating the way the signs behaved physically as well as specific physical details, except there was one major issue with this book; all of the drawings were clearly euro-centric and 9/12 of them were male depictions. This ultimately makes the book useless to anyone who wants to study people. Having more years of experience, I now have a strengthened intuition and felt the need to explore ancient genetics and their correlation to astrology. I had already previously looked into astrological rulership over countries in this post. The information in that post was gathered from Rex E. Bills’ “The Rulership Book.” This book is a directory on astrological correspondence to just about everything. The information in that book was collected from several astrologers therefore it has some credibility. My only concern is how relevant the information is now as it was written in the 70s– biases may prevail. I personally would not recommend that book to anyone with a poor intuition. My  post on countries/places needs an update as well for I haven’t stopped to ask why those are the designated rulerships to those countries and places. I’ve become more and more interested in exploring ancient civilizations, studying their culture, religion, and politics and drawing the astrological correspondence to such. I now also feel that it is necessary to provide people with astrological correspondence to ancient genetics and backgrounds when discussing the ascendant’s influence on physical appearance because of the importance of genetics itself. The biggest argument against astrology’s influence on physical appearance IS genetics, but the thing is, they’re all tied together. I would like to note that this is only the beginning of my research. These are my findings now, and are subject to expand or change in the future (as we saw with my last post on physical appearance.)

I came up with an explanation using astrology as a tool (as one may say astrology is meant to be a tool for understanding the universe). Using the laws of astrology, evolution of modern man and genetics can be explained with rulerships and symbolism of planets, houses, signs, and their relationships between each other. 

In the chart I’ve created, I’ve labelled the Imum Coeli (IC) “Ancestor” for the reasons being that modern man came out of maternal roots both literally and symbolically. The rises and falls of man can easily be represented through the ages of time and just after the Golden Age of Leo, the world entered the Age of the Mother Goddess; a time of matriarchal society. At this time, Cancer and Lunar themes influenced society and cultures and ideas, as does the following sign in the following age and so on. I emphasis the significance of the Age of Cancer to modern man as Cancer would then represent ancestry to us in the future and its opposing sign, Capricorn would represent history to us as well. Modern man’s genetics are rooted in the sign Cancer, respectively.

The roots of modern man are said to be traced back to South Africa from the once thriving Khoi-San tribe. What is particularly interesting about this ancient rooted tribe is their culture and how it heavily focuses on retained and unchanged tradition (a very Cancerian influence). Not only that, but the retained traditions are very watery in essence; weddings are considered private ceremonies, death is treated as a very natural occurrence (very different from how its treated in Western culture nowadays), trancing and spirit world travelling are practiced, shamanship is practiced, some groups revere the moon, hunter-gatherer style of living is still put into practice, adeptness in observing behaviour patterns of animals (habitual behaviour ruled under the Moon). Another particularly interesting aspect of their religious practices is the trance dance practiced by the shamans. They describe reaching their spiritual trance having a lot to do with a “stomach potency” and if you know astrology, then you would see the significance in correlation of the stomach to the sign Cancer. Apparently the trance dance has an affect on the stomach muscles and alters posture in the people who practice it too. Among other evidence to demonstrate their watery influenced society and culture, I think it’s fair to say Khoi-san tribe is ruled under the Moon and is ruled under Cancer. This being the case, and if the Khoi-san tribe are carriers of the earliest genetics to modern man, then it makes perfect sense to associate man’s physical and cultural roots to the sign Cancer and the Moon.

At some point, our ancestors obviously migrated to parts of Northern Africa and then some groups eventually out of Africa to escape the direct sun when albinism began to occur and the un-melaninated people could not survive in the conditions so close to the equator. From there, we see civilizations develop in all parts of the world with genetic variations and varying levels of melanin, but all traces back to their Cancer ruled roots. I believe Saturn/Capricorn’s cardinal direction marks historical moments in genetics and respectively opposes the Moon and the roots in the graph illustrated. While Saturn may represent recessiveness, we have to keep in mind that its traditional rulers were both Capricorn AND Aquarius (Aquarius now ruled by Uranus in modern astrology and that discovery itself also signifies evolution...). If we consider the recessive qualities of Saturn along with the rapid and sudden evolutionary qualities, we could see this opposition symbolizing the sudden variation in genetics; when recessive genes are activated. An example of this is the first occurrence of albinism in genetics as well as any other sudden opposites of the dominant genetics in humans. An example of the Aquarian evolutionary qualities could be how humans have become much taller in height overtime. The next component to be addressed in the chart is the other cardinal directions being occupied by Mars and Venus. Aries/Mars and Libra/Venus, as opposed to Cancer and Capricorn, symbolize a forward direction. In Stephen Arroyo’s book, Astrology, Psychology, & The Four Elements he writes, “The cardinal signs represent centrifugal radiating energy and correlate with the principle of action in definite direction. The “positive” cardinal signs, Aries and Libra, are concerned with action in the present, based upon future considerations.” So while the negative cardinal archetypes occupy what is significant in the past, we can say the positive cardinal archetypes symbolize future outcomes. It’s also important to note that Mars is in most cases considered a malefic planet whereas Venus is in most cases considered a benefic planet; it is particularly notable depending on what interchanges they make with other planets, in this case interchanges between them and either the Moon or Saturn. I’ve categorized the interchanges as ascending, descending, recessing, and prevailing labelled on the chart (figure 1).  I’ve also included the Sun in this equation for the sake of unity and as well as its symbolism being the life giving planet; its qualities being warm, moist, and light. The “prevailing” interchange (Moon-Venus) symbolises dominant, unmasked genetics that are, for the most part, benefic. The “recessive” interchange (Mars-Saturn) symbolises recessive, masked genetics that are, for the most part, malefic. The ascending and descending interchanges represent a very unique relationship that these interchanges have according to laws of astrology.

In Robert Zoller’s, The Arabic Parts in Astrology, he explains very clearly important relations planets have with each other. The figure above is the “Septenary.” It symbolises the polarization between one planet to another and then how it is reconciled by a third point. I highly recommend this book even if you have no interest in Arabic parts because it goes over core principles in astrology. If we go back to the idea that Sun is always in the equation for creation, then you will see that the Sun in the Septenary has two paths, the Moon and Saturn. When creation (the Sun) chooses the path of the Moon, it is reconciled in Mars. When creation chooses the path of Saturn, it is reconciled in Venus. So the ascending path (Moon-Mars) thus symbolises masked genetics that manifest under Mars’ positive qualities and the descending path (Saturn-Venus) then, respectively, symbolises unmasked genetics that manifest under Venus’ negative qualities because it has to compensate for cold, dryness of Saturn.

What I would like people to take from this is an astrological perspective of genetics. I created the chart (figure 1) as, and only, an explanation for modern man’s emergence and how we can categorize different genes (but not just genes– culture, society, psychology as well) within these archetypes and planets and the relationships between each other. The main issue with my original post on physical appearance was the lack of explanation for why this was associated with this archetype or this planet. There are definite reasons why, for example, Aries is associated with red hair despite it being the rarest hair colour and its occurance in people is also rare, especially if the person’s genetics are deeply rooted to their ancestors, then it’s impossible, if not next to. It is because at some point in history an unmasked gene is activated and is ruled by whichever planet or whichever archetype respectively. 

Just a side note; if any of you are particularly interested in learning more about genetics and not from an astrological perspective, I highly recommend this website. The writers have dedicated an immense amount of effort into bringing forth truth. They primarily focus on black history for the main reason being that it’s been heavily white-washed.

I feel now I can actually move into the actual ascendant descriptions having stressed the importance of genetics and roots above all. Also, with all of this emphasis on roots and ancestry, it may be worthwhile to take a look at the Imum Coeli’s condition in one’s natal chart in correlation to that. Just like in my previous post on physical appearance, I cannot stress enough how important it is to realize I am not telling you what you look like based on your sign. I’m putting this info out here to help you understand why certain features about you or someone else are the way they are as well as help you spot the rising signs in people!  I also need to stress yet again that aspects to the ascendant (especially conjunctions), planets in the first house, the condition of the chart ruler, the Sun sign, domicile planets, and stelliums can all be significant influencers to a person’s appearance. So I shouldn’t be bombarded with asks saying “I look nothing like that!” once this finally gets posted, right? This is meant to be a tool for people to understand correspondence to astrology’s physical manifestations.  Each description of the signs is the archetype in its extremes, so by all means, an individual of such and such ascending may not have all the characteristics of that sign. I will also include some notes on planetary influences in this post so you can understand how a planet will interact with the ascendant.

Without further ado, the signs,

Aries

The Aries ascendant often walks head first in a pioneer fashion and the ancient groups of Aries-influenced people were quite pioneering literally. The body usually doesn’t hold onto fat and builds muscle quite easily. Aries ascendants are prone to issues relating to the skin such as acne or eczema. The skin is usually quite textured and dry. Caucasian Aries folk may even have a very apparent ruddy complexion. When Aries manifests in its particular forms, red hair and white hair genetics manifest as well as unpigmented, large eyes. There tends to be two different types of Aries rising, the first type carries a care-free, yet curious expression. Their eyes are as luminous and big as Pisces, but lack the daze. The eyebrows are honest and unsuspecting in the first type. In both types, the eyebrows tend to be bushy which is obviously more apparent in dark haired Aries. The head shape looking at it from a profile angle is convex making the chin not very prominent (some dramatic illustrated examples below.)

Looking straight on in both types, they usually have a heart-shaped face. The second type has a keener expression; the eyebrows are more arched and lower to the eyes. The chin is slightly more distinguished than the first type. The nose on either type can be big or small, but is often pointed and is often bigger on the first type and smaller on the second. There may be a bump in the bridge. Both types are drawn to warm colours and that may be expressed through wearing lots of reds or choosing to dye their hair reds or blondes.  Some astrologers claim that people with the Aries appearance have a distinct Aries symbol apparent to their face in the way that their forehead and eyebrow bones are shaped, you will see that in the third celebrity example quite prominently. Mars (Planetary ruler of Aries and Scorpio) can be associated with freckles, so it is not uncommon to find that people with significant Mars or Aries influences have freckles, or rather, their freckles are trademark to their appearance. Aries is more associated with freckles clusters, light freckles, and birthmarks and Scorpio is more associated with beauty marks and dark moles.

Taurus

The Taurus ascending takes a slow approach in their movements. Their movements are also graceful (unless the chart ruler is badly placed, then the Venusian aspects are poorly expressed). Often they have stocky bodies and broader shoulders; female Taurus tend to be curvaceous. Their build is a representation of Taurus’ ability for resistance; they can carry a lot on their shoulders either metaphorically or literally. There’s a general warmness to the presence of true Taurus risings. Their hair is often deep, warm colours with a luxuriousness to it. Their eyes are often deep and warm– the same goes for complexion. Staple Taurus risings often have clear complexions (afflicted Venus or prominent Mars aspects will contradict clear complexions) and warm undertones. Their skin has a firm essence and evokes the desire to touch! They appear unprovokable and quiet while they may not be. Facial features in general are either full or wide– full lips, wide nose bridge, wider jaw, wider glabella, etc. The face shape is quite square which is common for fixed signs and their profile is straight.

None of the celebrity examples really demonstrate the wider glabella I mentioned before, likely due to their other influences, but I’ve seen it first hand in Taurus risings. The brows are often either further apart or even alined perfect to the nose. The bridge of the nose is almost aligned with the nostrils. In the context of mass, the nose can manifest either big or small, but it does not extend outward the same way Aries risings are.

Gemini

When a person’s ascending sign is in Gemini, their movements are quick and sometimes nervous and fidgety. Gemini rising can speed up the movements of even the slower sun signs, such as Taurus. They tend to use a lot of hand/arm movements when expressing themselves. Their eyes often appear surprised or alert most of the time and their movements are also quick and dart around. There is a child-like interest or curiosity they have with their environment; there is a need to absorb everything in their immediate environment. We can see this in Gemini’s need for variety in social situations. Geminis (both rising and sun) love stories and learning– this voluntary mental activity is what really keeps them appearing youthful. 

In Howard M. Duff’s interpretation of Gemini (caricature above) he points out that Gemini risings tend to have “Gemini Bumps” which are prominent temples in the skull. Sometimes Gemini risings also have a higher, more receded hairline in this area too, making the temples more prominent. Overall, Gemini risings tend to have sharp or bony features, especially in the more masculine expressed ones. Cheekbones and jawline can be quite prominent. Gemini rising’s nose can be big or small, but is usually on the small side, especially in feminine expressed Geminis. Their nose can be long and pointed or short and snub, but the main recurrence in Gemini noses is the round tip and lack of a bump in the bridge. Their lips can be wide or thin, but are often flat and look very compressed when their mouth is closed. Their eyes are more often further apart than centered and lower than risen (or rather, they appear lower with a proceeding and longer skull). Their bony and sharp features may result in very defined eye sockets. Their skull and face can either appear somewhat long or short and small; it’s important to note the changeability mutable signs have. The short and small face variation are especially prominent in femininely expressed Geminis and are often described by people as “pixie-like” with their small chin, round face, and button nose. Gemini rising’s body shape is usually thin, lanky, and tall. Very rarely can they hold onto fat. They usually have a very active metabolism and in medical astrology terms, one might consider the prominence of Gemini/Mercury in malefic disposition having a connection to hyperthyroidism. Obviously, prominence of say, Taurus or water archetypes may generate the opposite in a person; it is very possible for a Gemini rising to also not be thin if we consider other factors, as we should.

Cancer

People with Cancer rising, more often than not, have larger bodies. The feminine, watery archetype naturally holds onto fat and water weight. Their body shape can be curveious or round. In some cases there are boneier Cancers, and even in the plump Cancers, their faces are still well defined; high defined cheekbones, chin, skull definition, etc. Cancer risings are not, by any means, slow in their movements. They can exert a ton of energy in their movements and are a close second in terms of strength in comparison to the other powerful water sign, Scorpio. Cancer’s face is often round; the skull is also round and sometimes bulbous. Cancer’s profile is usually straight and flat As mentioned before, they tend to have high, defined cheekbones, but do not look under-nourished as Virgo or Gemini can look sometimes; they tend to have full cheeks, and a clear complexion– a face of good health in terms of shape and texture. Their complexion is a reflection of the moon, Cancer’s ruler. Their skin is reflective, moist, and bounces/absorbs light. A Cancer’s complexion usually has quite cool undertones and Cancers lacking melanin are very pallid and sometimes sallow looking. They tend to have full, round lips and short, snub, sometimes upturned, noses. If the Lunar energy is weak in the Cancer rising’s chart and Jupiter or Saturn carries prominence, this will modify the nose to either be hooked down and bumpy or bony and defined. Cancer ascendants are usually described as having large, luminous eyes, but over time observing Cancers, this isn’t a feature that stands out to me as being Cancerian, especially as Cancers get older, their wrinkles in a sense “water-out” the eyes and make them appear small and not a facial focal point of Cancers. If there is something to be said about Cancer rising eyes, there is a sense of vulnerability in their gaze. May have defined eye sockets like Gemini.

Leo

Leos generally have a sense of regality or loveliness about them, but loveliness unlike a Taurus or Libra, for they are not always conventionally alluring, rather they exempt loveliness through their level of self-appreciation and self-expression. This is demonstrated by the way they hold themselves (some go to the extent of walking chest first) and grooming. Though stereotypical, their hair can be of prominence; lots of volume, often thick, curly, and textured. Despite a Leo’s hair being their pride, Leos can be prone to balding. Their face often has some sort of beast-like or catty quality to it, especially the more feminine expressed Leo possess cat-like resemblance with the positioning and shape of their eyes and nose. Facial proportions and sizes tend to be average and their facial profile is usually straight (if not straight, they may have an underbite profile). Their lips have a definite cupid’s bow shape, similar to Libra. Their body is usually triangular shaped; slim hips -broad shoulders ratio. In a Leo ascending’s youth, fat tends to stay off the body, but if they dabble in pleasures in excess as they get older, they may become somewhat top heavier; fat is distributed to the stomach, shoulders, and face/neck. Their skin’s complexion is often clear, but in bad health the skin can become noticeably textured and inflamed. Leo lacking melanin can become noticeably ruddy; some are naturally ruddy in complexion (some Leos are prone to rosacea), but environment and the body’s condition plays a large part.

Virgo

Virgo ascending often has the same quick quality in terms of movement as Gemini, but it seems with intent and precision (and this makes sense for the analytic earth sign). There can also be the same sense of nervousness as Mercury ruled charts makes the body’s nerves sensitive. If very airy, their body will most likely be quite petite, but if they’re more earthy, then their body will be bulkier. Often quite tall in stature. A prominent feature of Virgo’s is their nose in relation to their eyes; often their face looks as if it’s slightly pinched at the bridge between the eyes. The brow is quite straight, unlike an Aries for example. Their nose is straight, long, and down pointing; sometimes bird-like. Their nostrils may be wide, risen, or flared looking. The eyes are most often small, or present smallness and darkness. Their face is often oval in shape, but I’ve seen plenty of Virgo risings with a rather short face, vertically speaking.  Many astrologers have pointed out the mutuableness of Virgo risings makes other placements in a chart easily overpower it’s appearance, so spotting Virgo risings with other prominent influences in their chart can be quite difficult. I’ll include a handful of celebrity portraits for a bit (and I mean literally only a bit because Virgo’s appearance really ranges) of Virgo rising’s dynamic range with other influences.

Libra

Libra risings can easily be described as the socialite of the zodiac, although that may only be in appearance as there are also recluse Libra risings too, when other placements contradict that (such as the person’s lights). They possess a natural social quality because of Libra’s magnetic and charming energy; people are drawn to them even if they aren’t a people-person. Libra risings often look very “put together” in the way they dress and present themselves. Unlike Taurus, the other Venus ruled ascendant, Libra risings are not likely to possess stocky bodies, however can be prone to weight gain (moreso later in life than in youth). Individuals with a heavy amount of Libra influences may be prone to indulgence. Libras like pleasure, so when an individual is a true socialite Libra, they are often put into an environment where they have access to excessive amounts of alcohol, sugar, food, etc. and this would be where proneness to indulgence is rooted. However, there are Libras who are just naturally plus-sized, especially later in life (and there are natural causes to that such as a change in the body’s hormones as one ages.) Libras tend to have curvaceous body types; the lower back and buttocks especially being a shapely feature.  A Libra’s facial profile is often straight and the face itself may be flat and round similar to Cancer risings. Their nose can range in size and length, but the bridge is often straight. Nostrils may be wide or flared; looking straight-on the nostrils and nasolabial folds can be described as having a distinct definition to them.  Being ruled under the hot planet Venus, Libras tend to have a lot of warm physical characteristics. This includes having warm or olive undertones in the skin, deep, warm hair colours (either by choice or naturally), and warm eyes. Although eye colour itself can range and is strongly tied to genetics, it is more of a Libra trait to have darker eye colours, especially deep browns and black. Libras tend to have a laidback and friendly expression in the eyes. Their eyes can naturally enchant others; they can really make a person feel listened to when a Libra is focused on them. Sometimes the iris appears as if they may be wearing circle lenses or as if they were painted on, similar to a doll’s glassy eyes. Their lips can range in size, but often have a defined cupid’s bow. While plenty of non-Libra individuals may have dimples, dimples are correlated to the sign Libra. Overall, Libras tend to have softer features.

Scorpio

Scorpios are probably the most distinct looking and easiest to spot. Scorpios tend to have stocky, broad bodies. Sometimes there are very petite manifestations too. They may be tall and the ones who aren’t tall make up their height in their powerful presence.  Just about everything about Scorpio rising’s appearance is distinct and defined. Their eyebrows are often dark, thick, and sharp. The brow bone is often low and the eyes are positioned with depth. Their eyes hold a strong, keen expression. Often the eyelids are not very defined, usually hooded. Although you don’t need to be a Scorpio to have an epicanthic fold, hooded eyes and monolids have a correlation to the sign Scorpio. Scorpio rising’s hair is usually dark or fashioned dark. Their nose makes their profile very distinct. Their nose can range in size and is often hooked and may have a bump in the bridge. The nostrils are usually flared, risen, and possess a bit of a snarl to them. Many astrologers describe their nose to be “bird-like,” but that may confuse them with Virgo risings who also have a “bird-like” nose and vice versa. I have a whole post on the differences between Virgo, Scorpio, and Pisces noses here. When Scorpio risings speak, the words come from their teeth rather than their lips. What I mean by this is if you consider the opposite, a person who really enunciates with their lips, you can get an idea of a person who enunciates with their teeth. Their skin is usually of a clear complexion, although being a water elemental, the skin leans more towards oily rather than dry and being ruled under the planet Mars, acne can be common. Their skin tends to have golden or warm undertones. I mention in the Aries section that Mars has a correlation to freckles. It is not uncommon for Scorpio risings to have distinct beauty marks or moles and other dark freckles.

Sagittarius

Their eyes, along with the doe-like largeness, are bright, honest-looking, and alert. The brow is often risen, sometimes surprised-looking, usually give off an honest expression. Although more notable in a Sagittarius sun than ascending, Sagittarius are known for smiling and laughing a lot. They tend to have very full, bright, infectious smiles. May have prominent jowls. Sagittarius ascendants tend to be lean in their youth and gain weight in their later years. They tend to hold most of their weight in the stomach and thighs. As opposed to Leo’s body shape with broader shoulders and narrow hips, Sagittarius tend to have broader hips than shoulders. They tend to have very strong femurs. Capricorn

Aquarius

The Aquarius ascendant is described by most astrologers as very angular looking; square and straight features. The outer corner of the eyes flick out and tilt up giving the eye a particular definition trademark to Aquarian eyes. External epicanthus (heaviness of the eyelid fold on the outer corners of the eyes) has some correlation to Aquarius too. There is nothing particular about their noses in contrast to some of the other signs which have noses that bring forth a lot of the sign’s character. Their nose may range in size, but never very big or very small. The bridge may resemble that of a Taurus nose or the bridge may be slimmer in comparison to the glabella and tip. Pisces

Pisces is another sign with a particular distinctiveness that makes them easy to sought out. They usually have shorter limbs (arms, legs, fingers, etc.). These individuals will naturally range in height, but there is some correlation to the extremes (very tall and very short). Some astrologers claim there are extremes in the size of a Pisces’ feet, some very small feet, others very large. Their skin tends to have cool to neutral undertones.

That summarizes all of the signs, but before I consider this post finished, I just wanted to stress again that these descriptions are not meant to be me telling you what you look like based on your Ascendant or Sun sign. I also want to stress just how limited of a selection there is in terms of examples. When searching for my examples, there were two criteria, one being that they needed to demonstrate somewhat of a clear, prominent influence of the sign mentioned, and two being the birth data’s accuracy. I am limited to using celebrity examples and unfortunately that is even more limited when not all celebrities have a reliable source for their birth time (I only pick celebrities with a A or AA rodden ratings). I am limited to celebrities who have that birth information available or were made of interest to professional astrologers who have either personal dealt with these celebrities charts or have gone out of their way to find the information themselves. There is really only so much extent I would go to collect someone’s birth time in respect to their privacy which is why I only picked what was available to the public. If I’m honest, I would opt out from using celebrity examples completely if I could because I do feel its invasive to view someone so critically, but for the sake of sharing my research I have done so. I am also nowhere near skilled enough at portrait art and human anatomy which is why I didn’t feel inclined to do an artistic depiction of every archetype. The final thing I want to stress is that this is all just my theory that I developed based on my research. Have an open mind, but take everything with a grain of salt

So first I think it's important to keep in mind that while you and other farmers can feel as proud of your actions as you would like. The truth is that you are still exploiting, abusing, and murdering sentient beings for profit. In the words of former farmer Bob Comis, “Livestock farmers, no matter what kind — from the largest, most cynical, and inhumane factory farmers to the smallest, seemingly most ethical pasture-based farmers — traffic in death. It is death that is our aim, our purpose. Death is the end. Life is the means. Money the reward.” 

And a few more quotes from former “high welfare standard” farmers on whether their animals live happy high welfare lives, putting aside for the moment that the overwhelming majority of animals exploited, abused and slaughtered in the UK are factory farmed:

“In my experience, there is no such thing as humane animal products, humane farming practices, humane transport, or humane slaughter.”

“Humane labels still designate animal lives as so inherently inferior and existentially worthless that breeding, exploiting, and killing them for completely unnecessary reasons can still be embraced, celebrated even, as “ethical” and “humane.”

“I would tell everyone, “They have a really great life, up until they no longer have one.” It makes me cringe now to type that. I wholeheartedly believed in the “humane slaughter” myth.”

“ And even worse, even though I soon learned that sheep all have individual personalities, are SMART, and definitely form bonds with one another, show joy, fear, friendship–every human emotion–I still did not make the connection.” 

 I would also like to note that this “high welfare/happy” animal farming idea is !00% a myth. In even the “highest welfare” British farms, animals are forcibly bred into existence to live their too-short lives trapped in genetically engineered bodies that are ravaged by their size and/or forced overproduction of babies and milk (or in the case of sheep, both babies and the wool they grow as a result of genetic engineering which results in many health issues for these animals) till they are either “spent” (in the case of sheep, they are “spent” from their reproductive systems being exploited or they are no longer profitable enough for their wool) or reach ”market weight” and are slaughtered for profit. This is fundamentally unjustifiable and unethical, and to use the term “high welfare” or “happy lives” to describe this is frankly outrageous and deeply disturbing. 

And let's not forget that the “high welfare” “and happy lives” these animals are living include forced impregnation, stealing babies away from mothers, routine mutilations without anesthetic, the murder of newborns and young animals, unnatural and cruel living conditions, denial of important instinctive behaviors and preferences and brutal transport and slaughter conditions. And yes, this includes in sheep farming, as I explained in my original response. And also yes, all these cruel practices take place on every farm form the biggest factory farm to the smallest, highest regulated local British family farm.

Is this really the best we have to offer? Being the most courteous murderers? The most considerate rapists? Pouring untold resources into these convoluted laws and regulations, all the while completely blind to the fact that there’s another option entirely”

It's important to recognize that the idea of some sort of ethical or even “humane” slaughter (which you seem to be implying is the case) is an oxymoronic marketing term designed to make people feel good about supporting something that is inherently immoral, taking the life of an innocent, sentient being for an unnecessary purpose. 

 But if we want to talk about the actual stunning of these animals for a moment, while stunning is supposed causes a temporary loss of consciousness. The MHS says that the interval between stunning and knifing can be as high as 70 seconds for sheep. Another study found that the average interval was 21 seconds. Sheep take an average of 14 seconds to lose brain responsiveness if both carotid arteries (the major arteries that supply blood to the head) are cut. UK law only requires one carotid artery to be cut and in this case, sheep take an average of 70 seconds to lose brain responsiveness. Yet an electric head-only stun only lasts between 20 and 40 seconds. This means that an estimated 4 million lambs/sheep will regain consciousness each year before they die and there is a lot of video footage showing lambs/sheep regaining consciousness as they bleed to death after being stung upside down to have their throats slit. 

And when only one carotid artery is cut, sheep are often still alive after the required 20 seconds bleed out time, which means they are literally skinned alive, in British slaughterhouses. Researchers at Bristol University found that after an electric stun, sheep have periods of being fully aware of their surroundings i.e. they can still feel fear and they are conscious whilst hanging upside down on the killing rail, bleeding to death. They could not prove whether the electricity has an immediate effect and Dr Harold Hillman, Director of the Unity Laboratory of Applied Neurobiology has stated that when animals are stunned, they actually suffer extreme pain, they are simply unable to cry out or move because the massive electric current paralyzes them. So the stunning itself, which you are promoting as being an example of “high British welfare” is itself immensely cruel.

And that's it. One mediocre, poorly scaling boost to your BID, and one niche super-familiar and utility feature in two parts. It doesn't really work with the planar themes hinted in the write up. It could have been a fun bardic pet class, but you have to wait for level 14, which is basically forever. It's messy and disappointing, both in power and theming, but at least you have your bardic spellcasting for most of your class features.

The next subclass is the Love Domain cleric. The domain spell list includes charm person, heroism, enthrall, warding bond, beacon of hope, hypnotic pattern, aura of purity, confusion, greater restoration, and hold monster. Which, uh, paints a picture. Warding bond is quite nice here for the marriage/bonding theme, but confusion and hold monster are fodder for stand-up comedy, and charm person, enthrall, and hypnotic pattern are kind of rapey.

Gameplaywise, hypnotic pattern is one of the best spells in the game, and hold monster is decent for its Cleric Level (better here than on the wizard and sorcerer).

The 1st level feature allows you to, as an action, bind two willing creatures within 30' of you. As long as these married characters are near each other, they can add a d4 to any d20 roll, once per turn (per character). The marriage ends after 1 hour or until you use the feature again, because this is a monomonogamous feature (marriage is between two people...and only two people, in the entire world). You regain the ability to do this on a long rest or by burning any spell slot. This is a decent boost, which gets much better when used in conjunction with Bless. +2D4 is no joke in Bounded Accuracy. However, this is an ability that does not scale with party size, which makes this best for 2-3 character parties.

The Channel Divinity feature is Impulsive Infaturation, which lets you overwhelm a creature with a flash of short-lived admiration for you, causing them to defend you rashly. As an action, target a creature within 30', Wisdom save – on a failure, the creature is charmed by you until the end of your next turn, and it must use its reaction to make a weapon attack against a target of your choice. If there is no valid target, it admires you. So it's basically a 1-round Crown of Madness, a terrible spell already. Meh, it's channel divinity.

Protective Bond is the 6th level feature, which boosts your Emboldening Bond – the married creature can use a reaction to grant each other resistance to all damage. As you don't actually have to react to anything to use reactions, this should always be on unless one of your characters needs to be the counterspeller. This is the subclasses' best feature, but once again, no scaling; this is for a small party.

8th level is Potent Spellcasting. Same as always.

At 17th level, you get Enduring Unity, enhancing Emboldening Bond (and with it, Protective Bond). The range shoots up, from 30' to THE SAME PLANE, which is overkill considering there's no duration change. If one of the characters is reduced to 0 HP, the bonded partner gains the advantage on d20 rolls, resistance to all damage, and the ability to expend hit dice to heal the partner for 1 minute or until the creature regains a Hit Point...and that killed the entire feature, because none of the features are better than just bringing that (likely 17th level character) back into the fight.

Pretty terribly designed feature; should just have been an HP transfer from the survivor upon hitting 0, as that's the only way a character should use it.

Like the Creation Bard, the design is oddly focused around enhancing its prior features.

I kind of hate this subclass. Odd theming, its two great domain spells are creepy, and its subclass features are really for small parties, with little utility otherwise. And it feels like it would encourage some God awful character concepts. It might be fun in a two person party with your IRL or roleplaying loved one, which could be cute, but that makes the enchantment effects become creepier.

The Sorcerer origin is the Clockwork Soul, which is themed around Mechanus. Large, spectral cogs float around you, or your irides are clocks, you are angular or golden, or you tick and tock. Awesome, I am all about this. You were deeply effected by the plane, either by exposure to its artifacts or the Great Modron March.

DID YOU FUCK MY MOM, PRIMUS?

Your first level feature is Restore Balance, allowing you to use a reaction to “equalize” a roll within 60' of you, removing advantage or disadvantage. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your Charisma Mod.

It's cool, but this is your only 1st level feature. You oddly don't get an expanded spellcasting list (which says some disappointing things about future Sorcerer design), and this is pretty weak compared to other 1st level sorcerer features, like the Draconic Sorcerer's toughness boost.

At 6th level, you gain Bulwark of law. For 1-5 sorcery points, you can ward a creature you can see within 30' of you as an action. As a reaction and per sorcery point, you get to reduce damage to the warded creature by a d6. This feature is pretty bad; it's too sorcery point hungry and has needlessly bad action economy. Decent on an escort mission, but a sorcerer will usually be the squishiest person in the party, and Shield, Absorb elements, and counterspell are more effect reactions most of the time.

At 14th level, and once per long rest or until consuming 5 sorcery points, you can use an action to enter a trance. For 1 minute, attack rolls against you can't have advantage, and the d20 rolls for your attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws cannot fall below 10. This is interesting and cool, but pure sorcerers aren't making many attack rolls, so this is mostly a pseudo-reliable talent (especially for counterspelling) and a defensive boost, especially for Concentration checks. But it can be quite nice in those situations, and is your first genuinely good feature.

Finally, at 18th level, you can summon spirits as an action. These intangible, invulnerable modrons or similar creatures fill a 30' cube around you, stabilizing all creatures at 0 HP, repairing all damaged objects, and ending all spells of 5th level or lower on creatures in the cube. Once per long rest or until you expend 5 sorcery points.

And that last trait is very problematic. This is mostly a massive debuff cleanse, basically resetting everything to its natural state. Unfortunately, your sorcerer and allied casters will often want to have a spell up and effecting friendly characters. So this feature is very good when your party is dying and debuffed to hell...and crammed within this 30' cube... and...ooof.... this is harder to use well than it sounds. It maybe should have been packaged as a cleric spell.

As much as I want to like a Mechanus sorcerer, this is really weak and messily designed, and rolls back several boosts to recent sorcerer subclasses.

The Digital Dudes

Nate, Matt, Ethan and I came together as all of our passions seemed to be lined up into the same type of project. All of our skills come together nicely so we felt like we would work well together in a team.  We first came together when we realised we had the same interest in creating an educational play experience through programs such as Unity and Photoshop to create a game which teaches young or new coders how to think like a coder.  We started brainstorming ideas for this initial project which we had, talking about what kind of style of play experience it would be, we considered turning it into a tower defence type of style which would involve the player having to protect their defences by using either code or enemies which are playful designs of coding languages you have to fight with correct formats.  We knew that we couldn’t settle for this project as it wasn’t developed enough and wanted more to go off of, so we decided to do some Shut The F*** Up and place as many ideas onto sticky notes as possible within 10 minutes 

The wall wasn’t sticky enough so we moved lots of our ideas onto a table as well. By the end of this exercise, we had plenty of ideas to talk about and possibly develop. 

We had multiple ideas which were similar to others, so we went through them and categorised them length-ways so it was very easy to see which ideas we were the most interested in as they were longer compared to the ideas we weren’t as interest in which were obviously shorter.  The longer bunch of sticky notes were all related to play experiences (game), then came artistic, then relatable, theme, competition, art, environment, puzzle, and humour. 

We laid these out on our table and discussed through them, spoke about the ones which we could playoff and the ones which most likely would go nowhere.

The beginning of this day, we piled in as many ideas as possible onto our shared google doc, sorting through the ideas which we did during our session of ‘Shut The F**** Up’. This way, if we lost any of our sticky notes we had a digital copy which all of us could view on our own laptops while we used these words to come up with new project ideas and purposes. 

Just by the colour coding we’ve added, it’s very visible that the Artistic, Game and Relatable categories are larger than the others, which is what we focused on as we brainstormed new ideas. 

Here’s where the ideas started to come out, through group discussion we would take turns going through our words we collected and throw out an idea that uses some of these words. Some ideas were solid, some not so much. They were all collected on our shared google doc. 

My personal favourites ideas were:

Non-free range cage, also through Virtual Reality: Baiting humans into coming into a small cage/box, making them realise how horrible it feels. Impacting them to realise that they’re in the same conditions/experiences that badly treated farm animals are in. Through the use of Virtual reality, we could either physically drop a cage on them as they are distracted or use Virtual Reality to put them through simulation.

Interactive Burger Making, emissions (VR): The audience creates their own burger out of wooden/plastic ingredients we place in front of them, with RFID chips, different types of meat (vegan, beef, chicken), when they create their burger, they turn around and the screen displays what their emissions are by what they chose to eat.

Happy to Horror Game: The video game starts off as happy and bright, it works as a simulation when you do things that are harmful to the environment the colours begin to darken, teddy bears begin to grow teeth, things get scary. After some ideas, we decided to tackle all of our ideas through the Thinking Hat process to help eliminate the ideas which weren't great and build on ones which had potential. This is what we used as our guide: 

After going through these ideas, we spoke with Charles, receiving feedback such as needing context for our concept and to confine our thinking. Funny enough, this is the same feedback I receive 99% of the time at the beginnings of a new project. 

In order to grab context for our method, we did another round of ‘Shut The F**** Up’, this time focussing on genuine topics we are interested in as individuals so we could discuss them and decide which idea sparks the most interest among us and result in a more obvious path of where to head next.

To start the day off, we began by discussing what we want the purpose of our project to be and what we are hoping to achieve. After some discussion we came up with our beginning purpose:

Putting users through an out of world experience to show them the effects of Dissociation. 

Together, we have decided that the working title of our group right now is The Digital Dudes. We all want to expand our knowledge in digital elements and grow our skills in these areas which involve creating play experiences and Virtual Reality. 

Right now, our project is aimed towards Teenagers towards Young Adults but can be more broad in the ages to a more mature audience. 

We have all agreed that we will be putting in the same amount of work and effort as each other, and if one of us begins to slack off we will meet with them and discuss with them that they need to step up in order to avoid previous conflicts we’ve all experienced in previous groups.

Dissociative Disorder is categorised into three main types:

Depersonalisation/Derealization Disorder

Dissociative Amnesia

Dissociative Identity Disorder

Depersonalisation causes you to feel a detachment from oneself.

Derealization causes the actual world around you to not feel fully authentic, it begins to feel as if you’re not in control of your own body and instead you are watching a movie of your own life (Emotionally/physically numb, Weak sense of self, Deadpan speech, Trouble forming relationships). 

Other symptoms of Derealization is having an altered sense of time, and brain fog/lightheadedness and also are prone to anxiety. 

Dissociative Amnesia is when someone blocks out/forgets important personal information. For example, forgetting where they lived as a child, or what their own mother looked like.  

Dissociative Identity Disorder the covert traits of this are sudden and dramatic shifts in the way someone thinks and feels, and in some cases, the characteristics of a totally different person. 

Overt dissociative identity disorder has 2 distinct identities/alters. This causes them to often speak and behave differently, have acquired tastes, views, ages, genders and even nationalities. But they sometimes are not aware this is happening to them.

A YouTuber who’s known as Anthony Padilla interviewed individuals who are diagnosed as having Dissociative Identity Disorder. In the video, all of these individuals mention how they have a personality who takes the role as their ‘protector’.

This Age Brings Forth The ReUnion Of The Twin Flames In Order To Restore The Unity Of Creation And Collapse Duality.

The ideas presented here come from the perspective of the original author's experience in the process of Fusion of the Twin Flame and is not intended to qualify or disqualify the experiences of others.

The Union of the Twin Flame is one of service, which is not to be romanticized in the context by which one perceives the male and female relationship. The service of the Twin Flame is not only for the planet but also Cosmic and Universal.

The Twin Flame has a great challenge before them for their Union needs to accomplish surrender of ego to their One Essence.

1. One Essence

The Twin Flame originates from the same One Essence which was created by Father/Mother God from the Ocean of Love. That One Essence divided itself into two exactly equal and opposite intonations in order to experience form. In the beginning they remained always united as a perfect sphere with one center of gravity and one common equator or Zero Point ... However, as the three-dimensional experience unfolded they became separated in a dualistic system which pulled them into an unbalanced equilibrium expressing itself through two extended and separated forms. The Twin Flames are now coming back into unification through all dimensional frequencies in order to restore the Unity of God's Creations and collapse duality. Accordingly, there exists only ONE true tonal mate of the Twin Flame which is expressed in a male and female form ... the exact equal and opposite frequency intonation.

It is important to make the distinction between a Twin Flame and a soulmate. There exists only one pair of partners who are Twin Flames, which is not a disposable union ... for the Essence of it can never be replaced with another mate. Contrarily, soulmates come in many different forms and different intonations ... for a soulmate is anyone with whom you have had a past life experience.

2. Tonal Mates

We recently came across a very unique manner in which to explain or illustrate the concept of the Twin Flame.

In the book, "The Universal One", by Walter Russell he explains the principle of tonal mates in terms of chemical reactions.

Accordingly, it is stated ... that if we create a chemical union between the male action sodium (Na) which has an intonation of 601+ of the sixth octave ... and the female selenium (Se) which has an intonation of 702- of the next octave ... we have an unequal and unstable union of opposites.

Now, if either mate in an unequal and unstable union finds a more equal tonal mate it will leave the former and go to the latter.

Accordingly, the introduction of the female chemical iodine (I) which has an intonation of 801- of the eighth octave ... will cause sodium to leave selenium and combine with the iodine to form the more stable compound of sodium-iodide (NaI).

However, if we introduce into this new union the female chemical bromide (Br) which has an intonation of 701- of the seventh octave ... the sodium will leave iodine to form sodium-bromide (NaBr) ... an even more stable compound.

Finally, by the introduction of the female chlorine (Cl) which is the true tonal mate of sodium with an intonation of 601- of the sixth octave ... sodium will leave bromide to form the very stable compound sodium-chloride (NaCl).

Once the true tonal mates have come into union ... NO element from any octave whatsoever can displace chlorine from its union with sodium.

As the Twin Flame are true tonal mates originating from the same One Essence ... they are Divinely United by the Breath of God. Thus, we may have a new understanding to the words:

That Which God Has Joined Together

Let No Man Put Asunder.

3. Service

Many people idealize and romanticize the concept of the Twin Flame, however, the Union of the Twin Flame is carefully orchestrated by the Divine Mind in order to bring together a direct and exponential frequency impact through all dimensions and planes of this local Universe.

Do not expect candlelight dinners and bouquets of roses in this union ... that is not its purpose. This is a union which transcends all definitions of male/female unions on this planet. The Divine purpose for the union of the Twin Flame is to create the Harmonic Intonation of Completion and to be at service ... planetary service, cosmic service and universal service. Thus, personal preferences, relationships and perceived obligations may be thrust aside so that absolute service to the Divine Plan becomes the ONLY reality of the Twin Flame. When we take the Twin Flame beyond the human perception ... we see the potential of a tremendous force of Divine Action.

Are You Prepared To Serve?

4. Inner Completion

Only at the point of inner completion is it appropriate to bring together the Twin Flame. When you have reached a state of wholeness within ... you will begin to magnify your Divine Tonal Complement or Twin Flame. Thus, when you no longer feel a need for a partner ... he/she will appear.

We strongly suggest that one not jump out of a current relationship and immediately attempt a Twin Flame Union. The energetic link of the former relationship needs to be dismantled and all inharmonious frequencies associated with it need to come into equilibrium. Thereafter, a time-frame for frequency alignment of the Twin Flame needs to be a consideration. You do not want to bring old baggage into this union ... Why?

This is very important ... because when the Twin Flame comes together ... Everything is Amplified!

5. Amplification

Everything is amplified due to the Unified Field of No-Time which automatically accesses Higher Dimensional Frequencies. That which is harmonious is amplified AND that which is inharmonious is amplified. If you have not achieved Inner Fusion in Equilibrium ... everything may be blown out of proportion. Little irritants may become gigantic obstacles.

Because of this amplification ... the Twin Flame may not be able to stabilize the Union ... unless they have first achieved Inner Fusion. Even at such a point ... it is a continual challenge to remain in equilibrium as the frequency octaves increase.

When you enter a Twin Flame relationship ... the ability for the consciousness to move multi-dimensionally is common place and it must be recognized that you are not here to reenact human relationships but to act as a bridge to the Higher Dimensional Frequencies of Oneness.

You must be willing to let go immediately of inharmonious emotional reactions. Do not try to fit the Twin Flame relationship into a human context of interaction ... for it does not belong there.

If you need to get angry with your partner ... so be it ... it is just an illusion ... your identity is being challenged! However, it does not serve to remain in anger for more than five minutes ... Let go! ... It is an illusion. Do not let the mind and altered ego rationalize and justify such reactions. Remember, we are dealing with tremendous amplification here ... so seek equilibrium.

6. One Identity

The Twin Flame relationship is an Androgynous unit. This requires an adaptation in identification. You may not necessarily feel female and you may not necessarily feel male ...

As each one has completed their Inner Fusion ... there is an absence of polarity within the relationship. They are simply ONE! One Consciousness ... One Essence ...

The very nucleus of the cells of the two embodiments of the Twin Flame are fused together. They have realigned into their original sphere with one center of gravity and one common equator or Zero Point. And like the example of the union of sodium and chlorine ... they have lost their metallic qualities and become the "salt of the earth".

Allowing each one to demonstrate their ability without personal identification to the results. Without claiming the results as one's own ...

Because Nothing Is Truly Accomplished

7. Complementary

So, when we state that the Twin Flame is One Essence ... does this mean that they are exactly the same? Do they have the same Divine Attributes and abilities? ... Do they have the same strengths and weaknesses? ... Do they have the same likes and dislikes? THE ANSWER IS ... YES and NO!

They Are Complementary!

The Exact Equal & Opposite Intonation

The Union of Which Makes One Harmonic Overtone

The similarity is in the Harmonic Note ... and the difference is in the Opposite Intonation.

So what you will probably find is that each one carries the opposite or complimentary Divine Attributes within the Whole. Therefore, it is not to try to be what the other is ... but to allow the full expression of each one's Divine Attributes within the Union.

My partner brings information through in a vertical manner ... direct from the Source ... which is not necessarily sequential. I, on the other hand, have the ability to sort it all out in a horizontal manner to make it flow so that you can understand it ... which is complementary!

Thus, each one carries the complementary frequency of the Harmonic Note. Each one brings the complementary training and talents to support the Union and Divine Mission. Together ... they create a Unified Field of No-Time which allows it all to take place. Together they can accomplish more than they could as two separate beings. Together they multiply their powers exponentially.

There is no mistake ... the Twin Flame would not be brought together unless they had the absolute ability to complete their Mission of transcending the male and female dualities of this planetary system and bringing together the Harmonic Note of Completion. Thus, it is no longer necessary to play the purported designated roles of society ... but to fine tune the Harmonic Note of Completion through and by the Dimensional Frequencies.

8. Parallel Evolution

When the Twin Flame does unite and they begin to compare their lives ... do not be surprised at the similarity and complementarity of their evolution.

When I met my partner and we began to compare ... we found that within one to three months of each other we were enacting similar experiences. Following our Inner Guidance ... we twice moved our residences at the same time and in the same manner ... we were instructed to get rid of our furniture and detach ... we were instructed to end relationships ... and before meeting physically we experienced Fusion of Our Essence in the Higher Dimensional Embodiments.

The closer you come to Union the closer the time-frame of the parallel experiences. Remember, you are One Essence being guided by the same Source.

It does not matter where you are or what your lifestyle is ... if one is in reclusion and one is on public display ... when it is time for your Union it will happen. You do not have to go out and look for it. You do not have to wonder if every person you pass on the street is your Twin Flame. It is not in your hands to orchestrate this Union ... but it lies strictly in the hands of the Divine Mind and within your Sacred Heart and your Covenant with God.

9. Harmonic Note

Many people ask the question ... "How do I know for sure that this is my Twin Flame?"

I do not believe that this can be an externally answered question ... it is something that you will know within your Heart. The best I can hope to do is provide a Guiding Light.

We have already covered most of the points ... if you take into consideration Inner Completion ... Parallel Evolution ... Amplification ... One Identity ... Complementary Attributes and Service ... what is left?

The Harmonic Note will be the key identifying factor. Since you both originate from the same Essence ... you both carry the EXACT equal and opposite intonation. Thus, one may experience the sense of being with oneself ... alone but not al-one ... simply all ONE. The sense of Oneness is such that one does not feel as if there is another vibratory presence with them ... for the vibration is unified as ONE!

For example ... you may have, in past relationships or interaction with other people ... had to adjust your vibratory rate to accommodate others. This may have been evidenced by a need to pull back into your own space in order to attune to your own vibration and realign yourself.

In the Twin Flame relationship it is not necessary in any way to adjust your vibratory rate to accommodate the other. You are exactly the same ... vibrating to, with and within the same Essence. A unique Harmonic Note in the Ocean of Love.

Accordingly, the Twin Flame has the ability to remain in each others Presence in a Continuum of No-Time.

10. Employing Wisdom

Be aware that not all Twin Flames exist in the same dimension. Those Twins who are here on Earth have agreed to undertake this Divine Service. They have been specifically prepared to undergo this Mission.

Ultimately ... as the Earth moves into fifth dimensional alignment and the substrata of human consciousness is opened ... the Twin Flames may be reunited at other dimensional levels.

So, please, employ wisdom in assimilating this information. Do not take up a personal venture to find your Twin Flame and disrupt whatever harmonious relationships you are now in. We are here to live experiences in whatever form they may take. And if you are in a relationship and the experience is not completed ... then enjoy it!

It is not necessary that one be with their Twin Flame in order to serve the Divine Plan ... it is only necessary to follow your personal Covenant With God and ... Live the Love That You Are!
