Contrary to popular belief, soap doesn't call. Ever. He texts
Ghost gets a call one day while he's on leave. He's playing underground poker at the time. It's unprofessional to have his ringer on in the middle of a game. He knows it is, but that doesn't really matter because there's only one person with that ring tone.
It's Soap.
If it's soap it's gotta be serious because the man never calls, much preferring to text instead. And if it's serious he likely won't be coming back to the game, so he dips out.
Soap's in trouble. He's been assigned a solo op a while back, it had all gone smoothly and he was back on base a week later. Or well, they thought it'd gone smoothly. Ghost wasn't sure who it was that soap was taking care of on his op (classified as it was), but they were after him. Him and his family.
Apparently neither Price nor gaz were available, it was likely they were on an assignment of their own. And ordinary it wouldn't be such a huge problem, but they targeted his family as well, and he needed a place to keep them safe.
AAAAAAH @thejacketscloset HELP HELP IT'S EATUNG ME HELP I CAN'T FINISH IT! OH NO! AAAA! OH NO IT'S GOT MEEEE

I'm not mad I'm just disappointed because if you spent two seconds to think about how fur and leather alone has deep ties to human culture and our understanding and appreciation of the natural world it's honestly really beautiful and just feels so strange to me that people who say they love nature want to divorce themselves from it.
Like yes, capitalism bad. I don't agree with the way that animals are treated as products to the point where blatant animal cruelty is excused by mega corporations. I want places like that to be held accountable and made to follow higher welfare standards for the animals they raise and the underpaid employees out there working in sometimes awful and very unsafe conditions.
But if you're simultaneously ignoring the culture of African leathermaking or the beautiful leather and wool textiles crafted by Indigenous artisans or the ways that ancient humans appreciated the animals they killed for meat and clothing by telling stories and making art depicted on the skins of the animals they took, that's what bothers me.
So many people are willing to just attack vulnerable communities instead of learning about thier culture and how animal products were used traditionally and today. There are better ways to raise animals for products sustainably and humanely and many of these communities have spoken very loudly about it but are yelled over by people who just want to be right or don't want to listen or just don't care.
So yes, I will continue to speak my mind and educate myself because if nothing else I wanna be the start of the change I wanna see in the world. I love animals and I love learning the history of humans and our relationships to animals. I want to be able to appreciate them in the ways we always have. With respect to the natural world and understanding that we're also a part of it.

How to Increase Biodiversity on a Budget - Masterpost
It cannot be stressed enough that supporting native wildlife is important, wherever you are and however you can. But it can feel a bit daunting to think about doing, especially if you’re operating on a smaller budget. It’s not uncommon to hear about someone’s success story and think how much did it cost to do that?
I’m hoping that I can provide a good bunch of ideas on how to help heal the world around you without hurting your wallet. Feel free to use this as a guide, or a bouncing-off point to do actions in your own style!
Before we get Started
I want to make it clear that this is not a checklist of things you are required to do in order to be ‘helping.’ This isn’t an ‘all or nothing’ kind of deal. Every little bit you do helps. Being aware of these options and spreading awareness helps. Doing even just a handful of these options as you’re able to helps.
With that being said, we need to acknowledge that not everything in this list is feasible for everyone. Some people have a fenced yard in the suburbs. Some people have an unfenced yard with judgy neighbors and/or a restrictive HOA policy. Some people can’t directly control their own landscaping, whether that be because of an external lawn maintenance ruling or something like ‘living with your parents.’ Some people have a 4th story apartment with a small balcony. Some people rent and can’t grow directly into the ground. If the best you can do is put up a bird feeder, or grow a few pollinator-friendly plants in pots? I see you. I feel you. I’ve been there. I appreciate what you’re doing, and you know what? So does the wildlife.

okay i don't know if the hyperfixation will hold long enough for me to actually write this but au where everything is the same but the waylon house is just a bit more structurally sound. max doesn't die and is like 'thanks for this guys, is that the whole party or?' and everyone just sort of looks at each other like. well we don't want to anger him so what can we say but yes. and so the nerds and max end up hanging out for a night in the waylon house and the worst thing that happens is grace chastity is tempted to have a beer for the first time (she doesn't though. but with max offering it's very hard for her to refuse. or focus lol) max keeps giving them weird backhanded compliments like 'wow you guys are way cooler than you look, how'd that happen' which is not the best but it's way better than being beat up for daring to be in his line of sight, so they'll take it.
so they all hang out for the night, max is like weirdly chill and friendly, eventually he leaves and they're left standing outside the waylon house like. ?? what the fuck??? did we just befriend max jagerman???? the nerds are still apprehensive considering pete still has a black eye, grace is still boiling with religious zeal and repressed lust, and steph still doesn't really like him, but they can't help but remember how he said that trying to prank him was the nicest thing someone's ever done for him. and that just can't be true, considering he's literally the star quarterback and the main character of hatchetfield high, but.... the fact that he felt like it enough says a lot, doesn't it?
so they decide to leave the prank footage to gather dust and figure this was probably the best outcome they could have hoped for. who knows what they'll walk into at school tomorrow? maybe max will become a friend.

“Cavendish and Dakota are just really good friends!”
Allow me to explain A Christmas peril to you once again
Cavendish and Dakota had a petty argument that stuck with one another for 20+ years.
Overtime, they could’ve gotten over each other by moving on to diffrent careers, or meet different people. Likely getting new partners since they were still involved with time travel for a couple more years.
A few years later, Dakota likely had given up time traveling. Going on to be a pop star/writer, and presumably being gifted a nicer time car as a parting gift. Forgetting all about Cavendish after all those years.
Cavendish’s life seemed to stay the same, just more lonely and still mourning the loss of his friend. Rubbing salt into the wound as he watched Dakota gain popularity in the media. While Cav stayed in the same place 20 years later.
Cavendish likely never married either. Otherwise why would he still be fixated on Dakota for so long? At this point, he should've had a family and moved on, forgetting his friendship with Dakota all those years ago.
If Cavendish and Dakota had different partners for time travel after their split up, they could've found new people or possible spouses. But a majority likely weren't able to last due to them lacking connections with others.
Hence why Cavendish looks so alone in the future. He was never able to marry due to never finding anyone.
And it wasn't just Cavendish, it was Dakota too who also mourned for him years later and also never married. (Or maybe he did, and Cavendiah just never married. It’s still possible)
Dakota could've just completely ignored him. Cavendish didn't treat him well. So, Dakota had every right to be petty and ignore his entire existence. He had likely gotten married and started a family. And he had a choice to leave that point of his life forgotten, only talking his time as a time traveler, but could’ve avoided mentioning Cavendish at all.
Even though their relationship wasn't healthy and ended on a sour note, Dakota still thought about him often. He focused on the good memories they had because he knew Cavendish was still a good man. Even managing to write an entire chapter in his autobiography about him. (Actually, it’s possible he mentioned Cav throughout the book too, not just a single chapter)
There was something about Cavendish that made him so unique to Dakota after many years later. Same goes for Cavendish with Dakota.
Cavendish is a judgmental and negative person, how could Dakota still see anything distinctively good about him?
But the thing is, Dakota isn’t perfect either. He can be careless at times and sometimes selfish too. They have their flaws, but that's why they work so well. And that's why they need each other.
Cavendish is the voice of reason and prevents Dakota from doing things that’ll get him in trouble. But Dakota’s actions bring excitement into Cavs life.
Without Dakota, Cavendish’s life is sad and left without thrill. Without Cavendish, Dakota has nobody to stop him. He’s free to do whatever he wants without consequence or the rush of being told not to do something.
They completed each other, creating the perfect balance in each others lives. Otherwise, Cavendish would’ve stayed boring. But Dakota would've been free without Cav’s constant arguments. But that wouldn't be a very exciting life for Dakota now would it?
Cavendish risked a life of peace and quiet just to be with Dakota again.
Dakota risked giving up fame, fortune, and a better life for himself just to be with Cavendish again.
And if Cavendish and Dakota WERE married. They risked losing their wives/families to make amends with each other. But due to how lonely they looked in the future, it's likely they never did due to lingering onto each other for so long.
But yeah. Friends totally would break multiple time barriers just to grow old and become famous together by writing books and becoming pop idols.

I've been trying to type out a coherent post about this since yesterday but I'll just quickly summarise what bothers me (besides other things lmao): being asexual does not mean that I can't stand suggestive phrases or words. It also doesn't mean that I don't have a libido or kinks. These experiences are part of sex-aversion, which can also be experienced by allosexual people. It's something that can overlap with asexuality but first of all is an independent feeling/preference. It's so frustrating when I try to talk to my friends (who are all allosexual) about things that involve sexual themes and they shut me down bc "I don't know what I'm talking about". Like hey, maybe I do actually know bc I also have experiences? It's discouraging, because when you insist on what you know, suddenly your whole identity is questioned. "Are you sure you're asexual?" Yes, I am. It's because I don't experience sexual attraction. That's the whole definition! And yes, for many asexual people it also involves sex-aversion and that's totally fine, but not all of us.

In-story vs in-game:
In-story: My main character in a rush leaving the village where she spent half of her life, buried a child and two husbands, because she's just had the wildest woohoo ever with a man she absolutely doesn't want to be attracted to and panicked big time, so she instantly accepted a marriage offer from a man from a faraway place even though she has close to zero feelings for him and basically just wants to run away, and now she's sitting on a cart getting further and further away, looking back at all she's leaving behind, trying (and failing miserably) to look at her grown-up sons who're staying behind as well instead of at the man she's running away from, while said man stares back at her looking calm and at best slightly annoyed because toxic masculinity, pride and the fact that literally the entire village is gathered around won't let him admit that he's actually dying inside
In-game: Do you want those sims to move in together? Merge families. OK. Loading screen.
