listen horror is supposed to be reflective of the fears of our time, right? tma's big theme was constant surveillance and now tmagp's focus on digital horror has just made this even more apparent, like the different ways people's online activity can be found and collated, its just so weirdly satisfying seeing how relevant it is

Real scientists unmask the anti-transgender Cass Review as methodologically flawed and misleading
Tumblr media
The Cass Review, a widely cited report on gender-affirming care in the U.K., has been heavily criticized by researchers for its methodological flaws and unsupported claims.
A new peer review published in BMC Medical Research Methodology found that the review lacked statistical rigor, misrepresented evidence, and excluded key studies without justification.
Headed by pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass, the Cass report dismissed gender-affirming medical care as unreliable, recommending "exploratory therapy," which critics argue is akin to conversion therapy.
The review applied biased analytical methods, misquoted previous studies, and selectively adapted assessment tools to justify anti-trans conclusions.
It also advocated randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for puberty blockers, which experts denounced as unethical. Despite its flaws, the Cass Review influenced policies, leading to a U.K. ban on puberty blockers and contributing to restrictive health measures in the U.S.
Chris Noone and his colleagues write:
Using the ROBIS tool, we identified a high risk of bias in each of the systematic reviews driven by unexplained protocol deviations, ambiguous eligibility criteria, inadequate study identification, and the failure to integrate consideration of these limitations into the conclusions derived from the evidence syntheses. We also identified methodological flaws and unsubstantiated claims in the primary research that suggest a double standard in the quality of evidence produced for the Cass report compared to quality appraisal in the systematic reviews.
Experts urge policymakers to reject the report, calling for research centered on patient autonomy and accurate scientific analysis.
See Them for more.

Not A Threat III
Pairing: Damian Wayne x Reader
Warnings: Language, Batfamily chaos, Bruce Wayne being Bruce, sharp sarcasm, weapon nerding
Notes: ok so. here’s part three because apparently y’all want me dead. enjoy your batboys, your chaos, and your overachieving intern. if you cannot tell I suck at labelling so if it is, in fact, mislabelled, I am sorry.
1, 2, 3
Tumblr media
SCENE 1: The Test Run
You didn’t expect your first day in R&D to involve Lucius Fox handing you a tray of prototype batarangs and saying, “Make one.”
You stare at the spread. There are like—twelve different types. Folding, impact-reactive, EMP-loaded, carbon-tipped. Half of them are labeled in acronyms no sane person should understand.
You point at one.
“What’s this?”
“Thermal-returning,” Lucius says. “It’s supposed to recalibrate to the user’s handprint when thrown. Doesn’t work right.”
You squint at the blueprints. Study. Cross-check. Frown.
Fifteen minutes later, you hand him a functioning replica.
Lucius blinks. “Already?”
You nod. “Blueprints were messy. Overspec’d. Like, no one simplified the magnetic circuit path. Looked fancy but didn’t need to be.”
He flips it over in his hand. “...You looked at that diagram for thirty minutes.”
“I needed to figure out how not to build it,” you shrug. “Once I knew what not to do, it was easy.”
Lucius just whistles.
“Alright. Remind me never to challenge you to a wiring contest.”
“Please do,” you grin. “I like crushing rich men’s egos.”
From the shadows, you swear you hear someone choke on their coffee.
SCENE 2: The Batboy Gauntlet
They descend one by one.
First Dick, smiling like you’ve already been adopted. Then Tim, who stares at your half-built mini drone with scientific awe. Then Jason, who’s eating something and already calling you “Sparky.”
“Okay,” you say slowly, surrounded. “Why are you all here?”
“Bruce said the new hire was scary smart,” Tim says.
“So we came to judge for ourselves,” Jason adds.
“I brought cookies,” Dick offers. “Bonding food.”
You stare at the plate in his hand.
“...Are those shaped like little bats?”
“I bake when I’m nervous.”
Damian walks in. Sees you surrounded. Immediately bristles.
“Do you not have work?”
“She’s fun,” Jason says. “Can we keep her?”
You blink. “Okay. All of you need therapy.”
“You say that like we haven’t had twelve therapists quit,” Tim mutters.
Dick just hands you a cookie.
You take it.
It’s really good.
SCENE 3: Bruce Wayne Suspicious Dad Mode
You find yourself in a cave. At 2 a.m. Sitting across from Bruce Wayne. Alone.
No coffee. No warning. Just cold Batdad energy and a file with your resume in it.
He doesn’t speak for like… two minutes.
You break first.
“Is this where you ask if I’m evil?”
“No.”
“…Do I look evil?”
“You look efficient.”
You squint. “That’s not a compliment, is it.”
He slides a paper across the table.
“Explain this.”
It’s your sketch of a gauntlet upgrade. You’ve annotated it with profanity and sarcasm.
“Oh,” you say. “That’s just a joke. The original design sucked. It had twelve circuits doing the job of three. I was mad.”
“You redesigned it.”
“Yeah. So it doesn’t explode.”
Bruce studies you.
“What do you know about classified R&D infrastructure?”
“Not enough to break anything. But probably enough to improve it.”
He raises a brow.
“Where’d you learn security protocol?”
“…Reddit.”
He blinks.
“That’s either a lie or concerning.”
“I’m not sure which answer you want, so I’m just gonna say: uhhuh, sure.”
Bruce sits back. Thinks.
Then:
“You’ll do.”
SCENE 4: Rooftops & Blueprints
You’re cross-legged on the floor of the cave’s workshop, pencil in your mouth, blueprints spread around you like chaos incarnate.
Damian’s leaning against the wall. Watching.
“You’re quiet,” you say without looking up.
“You work like a storm,” he says.
You glance up.
“That’s either romantic or an insult.”
“Observation.”
You snort, shifting the page.
“I’m trying to upgrade the Batplane’s stealth field. Your dad’s design works but it’s bulky. If I thread the power matrix through the frame, I can cut the weight and stabilize the cloaking field at lower altitudes.”
Damian steps closer.
“That’s not in any blueprint.”
“I know,” you say, grinning. “That’s why I’m making it.”
He watches you for a long moment. Then sits beside you, cape folding neatly around him.
You don’t say anything. Neither does he.
You just work. Together.
And for once, the cave is quiet.

also—sorry I haven’t been posting these last two days!! I had to go to the optician and was told very seriously not to write or go online for more than 30 minutes a day, because apparently if I keep staring at stuff close-up 24/7, I will literally go blind. so!!
this part was written over the last couple days, only in little 30-minute bursts. I even put a lockdown on my devices and made my younger brother set the password so I couldn’t cheat. dedication or crazy? both. also if you couldn’t tell, I had zero ideas, like zilch, for what to do plot-wise, so instead I just went with a bunch of little snippet scenes instead of one big cohesive thing. most of these were born in the shower and I had to keep repeating them out loud until my next 30-minute writing window opened up.
Anywayyy tags:

I tried to tag @123-just-ignore-me but it ain't working, so.

Silence between hearts ( preview )
Tumblr media
Pairing: Robert ‘Bob’ Reynolds x reader
Summary: After Project SENTRY fails, Robert Reynolds is declared dead and sealed in a glass coffin to be hidden by O.X.E. Y/N, a doctor who secretly fell in love with him after a complicated path between them, refuses to believe he’s gone—fighting to save what’s left of him while grief and denial consume her, the path to look for him would ruin her, but to what extreme.
Note: I’m testing ideas and I came up with one, I’m mostly posting this already for you guys feedback, the first chapter will take a few days to be posted, I am working on my dissertation, but you guys understand.
The glass was thicker than it needed to be. Reinforced, sealed with polymer layers, and bolted into an alloy cradle designed to survive a small war. But none of that mattered to Y/N. All she could see was him inside it.
Bob.
Still.
Cold.
Lying there like a man who’d simply fallen asleep with no promise of waking.
The O.X.E. lab—once bright, bustling, and full of scientific ambition—now reeked of sterilizer and silence. They were shutting everything down. His project had failed, they said. Too unstable. Too dangerous. Too powerful. And now—too dead.
“Project SENTRY has been terminated. Containment protocol 6X is in effect,” droned a voice over the speakers. The kind of voice that never wavered. Not for ethics. Not for grief. Not even for love.
Y/N stood frozen as technicians fastened the final clamps onto the glass coffin. Her coat, still stained with dried blood from trying to stabilize him, hung limp around her. Her hands trembled. Her face was pale. Her lips parted, as if to speak, but no sound came out.
Two security guards hovered behind her.
“Dr. L/N,” one of them said gently. “You need to let them take him.”
She didn’t answer.
Instead, she stepped forward, eyes locked on the body within. Bob’s chest didn’t rise. His face was pale, serene—eerily calm for a man who had been made of light and rage. His golden hair framed a face that once radiated warmth, now drained of it entirely.
“No,” she whispered. Her voice cracked like splintered glass. “You don’t get to box him up. You don’t get to just erase him.”
“Doctor—”
“He’s not dead!” she snapped, finally spinning on the guards. Her voice echoed through the corridor, sharp and broken. “He’s not dead, he’s not—he’s not—”
But her knees buckled before her words could finish. She collapsed to the floor, her hands catching her barely an inch above the cold tile. Her breath came in shallow gasps, each one scraping her throat like rusted nails.
The guards hesitated, unsure whether to comfort her or restrain her.
Valentina didn’t.
Her heels clicked against the floor as she approached—always polished, always calculated. “This isn’t a romantic tragedy, Doctor,” she said, arms crossed. “This is containment. He was compromised. If you’d like to keep your clearance and your career, I suggest you walk away now.”
Y/N lifted her head slowly, tears streaking her face.
“I don’t care about clearance,” she hissed. “I cared about him.”
Valentina’s expression didn’t change. “Then you’re a liability.”
The moment stretched like wire pulled too tight.
And then, Valentina gave a cold nod.
“Seal it,” she ordered.
Technicians obeyed.
Y/N watched as a final hiss of hydraulic steam sealed the edges of the glass. The lighting inside dimmed, bathing Bob in a faint blue glow, like he was being buried beneath a glacier.
They strapped the coffin to a magnetic dolly, preparing to roll him out—out of the lab, out of history, out of her reach. Like he’d never existed. Like the nights they’d spent in quiet corners of the lab, whispering about the sky and everything he’d forgotten about being human, had never happened.
Like she hadn’t kissed his trembling hands after his first breakdown.
Like he hadn’t told her he was scared of the darkness inside him.
Like he hadn’t looked at her the night before the meltdown and said, “If I lose myself, don’t let them lock me away. Just tell me you loved me once. That it mattered.”
She scrambled up, stumbling toward the coffin, arms outstretched.
“Wait!” she cried.
The guards tried to intercept her, but she ducked around them, slamming her palms against the glass.
Her voice cracked as she spoke, forehead resting against the cold surface. “Bob. I’m here. I didn’t leave. I—I couldn’t save you, I’m sorry. But I remember you. Do you hear me? I remember everything. I do love you.”
No response.
She pressed her hand over his heart, her eyes tracing the shape of his closed eyelids, the curve of his lips. She could almost believe he was sleeping. Almost.
“Please,” she whispered, softer now. “Please come back. Just open your eyes. Just—just breathe. I’ll take the Void. I’ll take all of it. Just come back to me.”
Silence.
Valentina made a gesture. The guards pulled her away, gently but firmly.
“NO!” Y/N screamed, kicking and fighting. “You don’t get to take him! He’s not—he’s not a thing! He’s a person! He was mine!”
But Bob remained still, and the glass began to fog slightly with the temperature shift as the containment unit rolled toward the freight elevator.
Valentina didn’t look back.
And Y/N—struggling in the arms of men who didn’t know who Bob was, what he had become, what he meant—finally went limp.
Her voice, barely a breath now, rasped, “Please don’t leave me here without you…”
The elevator closed with a heavy clang.
Then he was gone.

The Empress and her loyal Guard.
Remember the UTY/UT cast Swap AU I briefly talked about a while ago? I finally finished my half of the designs, so @gaymeatcore and I can finally share our work LOL. They designed and drew Ceroba, and I designed and drew Starlo!
Ceroba swaps with Asgore, and is the ruling Empress of the Underground. Suffering from the loss of her daughter as well as her now ex-husband Chujin stepping down from his throne in order to focus on his scientific pursuits, she is consumed by grief and is desperate to obtain the needed human SOULs in order to break the barrier. She often isolates in her palace, not wanting her subjects to see how close to a break down their rule is.
Starlo swaps with Undyne, and is a humble-farmer-turned-Royal Guard. He took up the position solely to offer Ceroba some comfort and familiarity as her life turned to turmoil. Though he's miserable with the strict rules and protocol of Royal Guard, he maintains his post solely for Ceroba's sake, even if he knows deep down he can't kill any humans that may wander into the Underground.
Tumblr media
Just for fun, here's my design notes for Starlo! In this version of the Underground, the royal guard (and Underground at large) has a Japanese theming and setting, so the guards have samurai inspired armor. Wanted Starlo's armor to, ironically, not fit him in the slightest since he's stifling himself into a role that doesn't suit him at all. (Forgot to put it in the notes on the image but the thing on his back is his rifle which is his main weapon here!)

What I hope happens next with that whole Titanic tourism / OceanGate mess:
they find the submersible at the surface somewhere, with everyone spooked but alive.
OceanGate and any subsidiary company gets sued into the ground, any person responsible for this gets charged with attempted murder.
Stricter protocols for any sort of civilian tourism in places they shouldn't be, and yes i also mean space and other scientific research sites
The media turn to the adjacent topic of the rescue boats in the Mediterranean's Sea, holding governments responsible for not caring enough about hundreds and thousands of people trying to flee to Europe every day.
Markiplier's Iron Lung movie does well, and will not be critiqued as a tasteless and tactless movie about the recent tragedy, seeing as it's just a nod to an Indie horror game and was filmed before all of this happened.

Back in early 2020, the news of the strange illness causing terrible pneumonias in China saddened me, but I believed I was safe in Canada. Within weeks, there was a reckoning: thousands were dying on my doorstep, too.
Directors of an independent living residence at the start of the pandemic asked me to become the residence’s COVID-19 advisor. They had no qualified medical staff, despite supporting elderly residents. Back in those early days, anyone with a medical qualification was commandeered to help in any way they could.
Confronted with the task of providing guidance to the nonmedical staff taking care of these residents, I decided to learn everything I could about the pandemic. At that time, about 1,000 papers were being published every month detailing research into every aspect of the coronavirus. Of course, I couldn’t read all of them, but I read as many as I could and built a breadth and depth of evidenced-based knowledge about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. I wrote up the protocols and during my tenure as COVID-19 Advisor for this residence, we kept COVID out.
As a family physician seeing COVID-19 in my practice, I came to recognize that so many of my colleagues and patients had no idea how to keep themselves safe from the coronavirus, nor were they aware of its long-term risks. I saw the need to take action and effect change, which ultimately led me to becoming an advocate for Long COVID awareness.
I started the medical education company Kojala Medical, aiming to provide evidenced-based information about medical issues in a form patients could understand and reliably trust. I wanted a credible, trustworthy site to which I could refer my patients, colleagues, friends and family. We started with a focus on COVID-19 and have now expanded to Long COVID, with the site longcovidtheanswers.com.
I first learned about Long COVID in 2020 through publicity raised by the Body Politic COVID-19 support group, then became more alarmed as I read scientific articles about the disease.
Aside from the official death toll of over 7 million from COVID-19, Long COVID has emerged from the pandemic as the single biggest disaster to afflict humanity, yet very few people who are not sick with Long COVID are aware of it, want to know about it, believe in it, or even acknowledge that it’s happening. Sadly, many in the medical profession fall within that group of non and disbelievers.
This is bizarre, especially because of the impact of the disease. One recent review estimates more than 400 million global cases of Long COVID. I am furious that not enough is being done to alleviate this suffering. The injustice of yet another neglected and marginalized chronic illness that disproportionately affects women.
So, rather than sitting around waiting for ‘someone’ or ‘body’ to do something, I decided to act.
For me, medicine is fundamentally about aiding people to get as well as possible from any sickness they have — and even more importantly, preventing people from getting sick in the first place. In both of these regards, we are failing people with Long COVID dismally.
Long COVID is not the flu, it is a multisystem debilitating infection associated chronic condition. Developing Long COVID can be disabling and life-changing. Recovery remains low — and some manifestations like heart disease, dysautonomia, and myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) may last a lifetime.
This is a terrifying situation to be in when, as a global community, we have chosen to act as though the pandemic is over and repeatedly expose ourselves to SARS-CoV-2, a grade 3 biohazard, with little to no protection.
As I read more and more research papers about Long COVID and looked at the inaction of global governments and my own profession, I feared that we were sleepwalking into a global mass disabling event unnecessarily, since we have many technologies available to prevent this.
Infection-associated chronic conditions do not have an established medical speciality, and are rarely taught in medical school. With the medical profession disengaged, people with Long COVID have been left to find answers for themselves.
My work aims to build on support groups, which have helped establish caring communities for people with Long COVID, but have also paved the way for us as scientists and medics to change the way we conduct research in a more patient-focused way. Nevertheless, they don’t entirely fulfill the need for evidence-based information about the disease in a readable format for nonmedical individuals.
I saw a huge need for a comprehensive website that would be of use to all people with Long COVID, their caregivers, the scientists researching the disease, and the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that would be needed to rehabilitate them. Our organization believes that Long COVID The Answers meets those requirements.
There is also a pressing need to train medical professionals so that they will acknowledge Long COVID and feel confident about diagnosing and managing it. Inspired by an interview with Dr. Ric Arsenaeau, an expert in managing complex chronic diseases, my team and I created a podcast series: so that medical providers can receive continuing professional development/educational credits from watching this series.
The podcast series features a range of experts, including people with Long COVID, doctors, scientists, educators, and medical clinicians. Some of these experts also serve on our advisory board, overlooking and participating in the project.
Our site aims to raise awareness about the dangers of continuously exposing ourselves to a perilous virus with no thought of what it will cost us and our children.
This will mobilize the people of the world to demand that their leaders properly provide safe spaces for us all to prevent us from ever getting infected in the first place.
We need to mandate our governments to access all the mitigating technologies that we have in our roster, not only vaccination. The best way of managing Long COVID is to prevent people getting infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the first place!
We need national and international indoor clean air acts – to protect us from emerging pathogens.
For people with Long COVID, awareness will bring an educated and mobilized medical profession, governmental resources, financial and sociological support, and money for research — to facilitate treatments and, hopefully, a cure.
These are the main reasons why I jump out of bed in the morning with gusto, focus, and determination, and why I’ve poured all my money and my time into educating people about Long COVID.
Dr. Funmi Okunola is a British Family Physician who lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. She is the President and CEO of Kojala Medical, a digital medical education company behind COVID-19 The Answers and Long COVID The Answers.

A United Nations-backed scientific assessment released in early 2023 confirmed that the ozone layer is on track to recover to 1980 levels:
• Antarctic ozone hole: expected to heal by around 2066
• Arctic ozone: projected to recover by 2045
• Global ozone: could return to 1980 levels by 2040
These projections are based on compliance with the Montreal Protocol (1987), which phased out ozone-depleting substances like CFCs.
MIT scientists, among many others worldwide, have contributed to the understanding and monitoring of the ozone layer, often publishing peer-reviewed work and collaborating with international assessments.
The Antarctic ozone hole is healing, largely due to international environmental policy. Full recovery is projected by 2066, assuming continued global cooperation.

heyyy, could you do kay/o, cypher, and maybe omen with a crush on the new agent? thank youu ^^
KAY/O, Cypher and Omen with a Crush on the New Agent
Word Count: ???
Hiya anon! Sorry for how late this reply is, but I live to see the light ToT <3 better late than never……..
Tumblr media
KAY/O
Robots don’t have crushes… right?
KAY/O genuinely thought that he couldn’t have crushes… until he did
When you first arrived and asked about his opinion on you by Cypher he responded with “They’re attractive” and when asked to elaborate he said “Scientifically speaking”
There was NO science in this romance only pure adoration
You were fascinated with KAY/O when you first joined the protocol and spent a whole day hanging out around him or asking people about him
If anyone suggested you liked him, he was quick to decline
Also dealt with personal conflicts involving his own beliefs. He thought liking you meant that he was unable to do his job
Turns out he’s even more of a robo-killer when faced with the idea that you could die
Anytime you acknowledge his selflessness he responds humbly with a good old “It’s part of my programming”
He’s a liar, Killjoy can back that fact up
But it’s okay cause he’s whipped but in denial about it
No way he’s initiating anything with you romantically, not because he doesn’t like you, because he DOES, but he’s just afraid of the consequences
You guys are totally a power duo and it’s a vibe :) good for you guys!
Tumblr media
CYPHER
The detective agency called, they want their job back.
As soon as you walk in this man is DETERMINED to know more about you, but he understands that being a new agent can be overwhelming so he kinda just… observes from a substantial distance
He really doesn’t stalk you, but he seems to perk up and become more vigilant when you walk in the room
At first he just thinks he’s trying to sus out the new agent
Until he talks to Killjoy and she’s just like “be forreal.”
Yeah maybe he does like you a little bit (a lot!)
Cypher talks to Phoenix about how he should scope out your opinion on himself. Phoenix looked amused throughout the whole discussion.
“Looks like someone’s got the hots for the newbie”
Teasing is underway
At some point Jett catches on to Cypher’s little crush too and works with Phoenix to conveniently place you two in situations where you are interacting
The two of you actually start to bond from this method
Missions together are fun, you value his ability to gather information but definitely question him because you HAVE to know if he’s caught onto your deepest, darkest secrets.
You two always have each other’s backs and compliment each other nicely in missions
You guys see the increase in missions where you are paired together as Brimstone gladly valued the teamwork
Cypher doesn’t let his emotions overwhelm him during battle when he sees you getting hurt, but when you get back to base he insists on patching you up
“You’re new, just let me help out, okay?”
He cares for you dearly and that is something very precious, even if his methods of acting on that admiration are a bit… obscure at first, you adore him anyway!
Tumblr media
OMEN
Omen is unsure how to act at first when you arrive.
He’s unsure why he is so interested in you and it makes him uncomfortable that he can’t pinpoint why that was
After very obscure and indirect discussions with members of the protocol, particularly Fade and Cypher, the idea of Omen having a crush on you was put into his mind
He avoided you like the plague for a good week after that— not because he didn’t care, but rather that he was scared
Omen didn’t seek you out himself, but rather let you speak to him when you wanted to.
Oh boy did he speak to you!
Any agent who observed you two converse was in awe that Omen was not only going along with it, but seemingly content.
You’d definitely need to be responsible for initiating anything— Omen feels too disconnected from you to reassure himself so he’s left too scared to communicate with you.
After a few months go by though, and after a rough mission that you both were on became a near death trap, Omen finally confessed everything.
You two became an unexpected but extremely cute couple! You brought out a softer side that a lot of agents didn’t expect.
He definitely would knit you a bunch of gifts. Very cute :)
