GOTHAM ORIGINAL CHARACTER: JULIAN VALESKA BACKSTORY

EARLY LIFE:

One year, when Haly’s circus had made its yearly stop in the infamous city of Chicago, Lila Valeska had crossed paths with one of the city’s most notorious gangsters. It is unknown who he was, as he would never again appear in the Valeska’s lives, but he and Lila had conceived a son.

Julian Valeska would never have the opportunity to know his father, whether it be face to face, or purely by storytelling. His mother had fed him one simple story over the years; his father was a firefighter who died on the job. That’s it, that’s the lie he was fed, and he would never know the truth.

Julian was five years old when his two younger brothers, Jerome and Jeremiah, were born. Within the first few weeks of their lives, Lila had cared for them as any mother should. But as soon as she was physically healed from the birth, she reverted back to her former lifestyle of drinking and fucking. Due to how selfish and negligent his mother had once again become, the responsibility of the twins fell onto Julian.

The Valeska’s weren’t a very wealthy family, they were actually quite far from it. How rare it was for the boys to get any sort of decent meal, Julian often having to scrape together whatever he could find just to ensure his brothers didn’t starve to death. It wasn’t uncommon for him to go hungry most nights, his top priority being the twins health. As he got older, he turned to pickpocketing the customers who visited the circus and even, when their situation got rather desperate, the circus crew.

Jerome would forever be in awe of his older brother, who had become something akin to a father figure. He taught Jerome the beauty of a good laugh, and how it’s the best cure to pain and sadness. Jeremiah, however, had different feelings. Despite how deeply Julian loved his little brother, or how much care he provided, it would never be enough for Jeremiah. Of course he loved his family, he simply just wanted more.

One night in particular would change the family forever. Jeremiah had put into motion a horrible plan, one that he had been thinking up for quite a while. He kept telling himself that it was for the best, thinking that every lie he whispered into Lila’s ear was justified. The second that Julian and Jerome had stepped foot inside of their families trailer, it was clear that something had changed. The hostile look that Lila held in her eyes when looking at Jerome had made it clear. Julian recognised it well, and stood protectively in front of Jerome. That would be the last time they ever saw Jeremiah. For a long long while, at least.

DEATH OF LILA VALESKA:

Julian would he lying if he said that the death of his mother was unexpected. Honestly, he knew it was just a matter of time before it happened. What he didn’t see coming, however, was that it was by Jerome’s hand. Julian had always thought that if Lila were to die, it would either be from alcohol poisoning, one of the circus men she was fucking, or Julian himself. He wasn’t there when it had happened, but he was there for Jerome in the aftermath.

Julian didn’t even hesitate to back his little brother up, telling him that he would never abandon him, and that they were in this together. Oh, how Jerome adored his big brother. He was the one stable figure in his life, the only consistent person he could rely on. Julian hesitantly allowed Jerome to seek assistance from Mr Cicero, the blind man having overheard the ruckus. Then, once the notorious Jim Gordon had gotten involved—Julian was prepared to take the fall for the murder if the heat came too close to Jerome.

Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as he had hoped, seeing as how shit hit the fan in the interrogation room… where Jerome admitted not only to his guilt, but to his insanity as well. Julian did what was necessary in order to insure that he got sent to Arkham Asylum alongside Jerome, not wanting to leave his little brother alone in such a violent hell hole. He essentially remained his body guard—to which Jerome responded by provoking the other “residents” out of smugness.

Truly gory, crazy plot twists, I could have punched team player 2 in the head a few times. Watch it you'll understand.

This got me thinking.

Billy Loomis, Stu Macher/William Afton, and Bo Sinclair as they grew older, at some point they need someone from their own flesh and blood to continue their legacy, right?

So yeah those three gonna build one big happy family with reader, and their kids gonna be a bunch of satan's spawn but only being lovely to their own mom/dad/guardian.

And ofc in this case, those three lovely slashers ain't dead in these scenario.

Billy Loomis

As we all know, Samantha Carpenter is the infamous daughter of Billy Loomis. But what if Billy Loomis actually have another kid from the reader? I'm gonna assume this guy gonna be his son.

(My pov) His son definitely will hunt and kill the Ghostface, who dare to be like his dad. In his mind, he was like 'my dad and his friend are the only Ghostface, no one's gotta be like him. And it will stay that way'. So to ease his bloodlust, instead of killing innocents, why not just kill these Ghostface rookies. It's like they're asking for it, didn't they?

Not surprised to see he loves horror movies, maybe get inspiration from crime documentaries. High chance he is the mastermind and have many ways to lure those new Ghostface to him. Tempting to torture them like John Kramer did to his victims.

Oh and if his dad has mommy issue, bro got a whole daddy issues coming in. Like father, like son

If Stu Macher had a kid, ya bet his children gonna be a goofball like him? Wrong. In fact (from my pov), his son gonna double up from Stu's inner psychotic tendency in him. More aggressive, more violent and more unhinged. His son knew to embrace madness.

If Stu Macher become a killer because of peer pressure, this kid just pure psycho. Instead of being a friendly social butterfly or party king like his dad, he's the appitome of school's bad boy type of thing. It's either being mean or meanest.

Don't let me start on him becoming Micheal Afton.

If he gets proper love from his mom/guardian, he gonna be a big softie and overprotective (possessive) to his love ones. Gonna be hella toxic. He can be good, only with his mom/guardian, but to someone else? Rarely occasion.

Bo Sinclair

Ok first of all we all know, BO SINCLAIR IS A BEAST IN BED (rip reader's cunt/rim hole) and when he knew reader is pregnant, he was worried he might not be a good father figure to his kid until their first child born. Things change. Seeing his son's big blue eyes, like him, stir something in him. The Sinclair Jr made him soft. So ofc, Bo becomes bold and wants another child cuz he doesn't want his son to be lonely.

It's to be expected. To be apart of the Sinclair, they would eventually have twins sooner or later. Thank god both their son's head still intact in one piece. On the other hand, his three sons grew handsomely and receive motherly love from the reader.

The eldest, have a nasty tempered like his dad. You got on his way, he'll beat the shit out of you. He only be really nice to someone he care most, like his mama dearest. Always goes to church with his dad to see his grandma and help him in the garage.

The twins - The first twin (middle child) definitely got the charm from his dad. Knows how to be a sweetheart to ladies, but can be deadly once he hunt them for his uncle's sculpture. Most likely helping Vincent to build the museum. Might as well make an art museum next door too.

The second gonna be a rebellion, daredevil (youngest child) Well, not like strapping him to the chair. No no, mama won't like that. He loves adventure so definitely follow uncle Lester from town to town. He likes hunting, depends whether the prey will be animals or people. He can be nice. Charming too. Gonna be good friends with Stu's son, probably.

the main problem people have with this reboot is that making it is just plain disrespectful. brandon lee literally put his heart and soul into this role and ended up dying for it. for all his life he had been in his father’s shadow and this movie was supposed to be his breakout role and help him step into the light, but it ended up being his final act due to negligence.

the whole setting of the movie based on the trailer just doesn’t look right. the original had this unique 90’s gothic setting and i get that it’s a remake and they’re trying to go for something modern but that just takes away from the crow’s entire charm. even the soundtrack sounds horrible and don’t even mention the character designs… there’s no soul in the movie.

then there’s also the fact that in the original, eric and shelly are completely innocent, they fought for what was wrong and ended up being killed for it. in the reboot trailer it seems like they both were inmates and met in prison?? huh???? the whole point is that they’re completely normal people that get something terrible done to them. that’s why the crow brought eric back in the first place.

there’s also supposed to be a clear distinction between eric before he died and after. in the original it’s very obvious how much he has changed. he went from a normal guy to a man mad with grief. but in this reboot he just kinda… looks and acts the same? he goes from a wannabe soundcloud rapper to a wannabe soundcloud rapper with bad makeup on, there seems to be no personality change. there's plenty of examples like these where they've completely missed the mark. in the comics there’s multiple people that become a crow, not just eric draven. they could’ve used one of those characters to continue the story.

i know you can’t judge an entire movie based on a short trailer but just the circumstances surrounding the first movie is enough of a reason to not like it. even the author of the comic didn’t want to remake it cause he himself thought it was unnecessary and disrespectful but he ended up working with them anyway so they didn’t completely butcher it. many reboots have been made throughout the years of various films but there’s a reason people are SO pissed off with this specific one. because, unlike other reboots, this movie had it’s lead actor die on set while filming. the crow is like a memorial to brandon lee, they weren’t even planning on releasing it but his family and fiancé encouraged them. brandon died only a few weeks before his wedding, similar to how his character died only a day before his. the movie is literally dedicated to him and his fiancé and it states that at the end of the movie.

the original crow is a constant reminder of the tragedy and what could’ve been which is why it’s so bittersweet, which further adds to the setting and overall mood of the film. the creator, actors of the original movie and even brandon lee’s friends and family didn’t want the reboot to be made and if that’s not telling then i don’t know what is. i do feel for bill skarsgård and the rest of the cast, they must’ve worked so hard only to be criticized but this reboot should never have been made in the first place, because it’ll never live up to the original.
