I don't give a fuck if Spider-Man: Freshman Year is MCU or not. I'm just happy to be excited about a Spider-Man cartoon again!
Plus, it's nice to have some Marvel media not tied to the MCU! I love that universe, but not everything needs to be MCU!

SO
They showed character designs for the new Spider-Man Freshman Year animated series at the Marvel Animated panel. One of the characters that will be appearing is Doctor Strange
It leads me to believe that our Doctor Strange
Jumped through the world of cartoon Doctor Strange (SMFY) with America Chavez
No other show has that kind of comic book style animation. Not even X-Men 97. Which leads me to believe that they showed a glimpse of Spider-Man Freshman Year without any of us realizing. We all assumed it was X-Men! But wouldn’t they have to go through a world where he exists??

I firmly believe that the best thing the MCU could do right now is release a statement and a "guide" to content. Yes, I understand that everything's interconnected.
And yes, I think it's insanely fun to watch all different kinds of movies/shows and then watch them slowly link and come together.
However...
It's getting to be too much for the vast majority of fans. The content amount is overwhelming, and there's been too many niche shows that are very stylistic and haven't been received with the overwhelming amount of goodwill that other projects have.
So, I have a proposal for Mr. Kevin Feige:
Give up on the "everyone, watch everything!" pitch.
Then, find a way to market and brand them just a little more like comics.
Tell fans what projects will form a "story arc". Since we aren't getting as many trilogies about the same titular hero as rapidly in the past, and more and more side characters are weaving in and out of their own and others' projects. Right now, we have far too many projects that no one understands "why now?" and that's putting a damper on everything. So, Mr. Feige, a little more open and up front. Of course, there will be cameos and such outside these: just focus the main narrative flow into easier-to-digest chunks. Tell us where a show like "Moon-Knight" or "She-Hulk" is headed so we can have a reason to watch it! Don't just show us a bunch of cameos of kids - tell us we're getting a "Young Avengers" team-up in "____" movie and give us hints at what projects will lead into it. If you don't find an arc compelling, that's fine! There can be a few different ones going on at once and they can all culminate in "crossover" Avengers (or, potentially, other team) movies - people who watched all the arcs will get the most enjoyment, but by all means people who have just seen one or two will be satisfied.
Do "one-shot" style projects. Werewolf by Night seems like it might be kicking this off, and I think it would be a really fun addition to the MCU.
Don't make everything 616-canon. "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" looks like a fun, exciting project but its marketing has been atrocious so far. It's canon, but an AU, but also canon?

IF Disney/Marvel entered a third deal with Sony to keep Spider-Man in the MCU.
I know people will condemn me for this, but I think that if Marvel regained 75% of Spider-Man, they would cancel all of Sony’s Spider-Man films and integrate all of his supporting cast like Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn as well as the Raimi and Webb villains intro the MCU proper. They could also regain the distribution rights and rework Freshman Year to be a actual prequel to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Simple as that, Sony would have 5% involvement with the films and focuses solely on the Spider-Verse franchise produced by Sony Pictures Animation.
They would also start announcing Spider-Man films at future D23 expos and Comic-Cons instead of Sony Pictures.
Yes. With the Hulk rumoured to come completely home in June next year, surely, Spider-Man will almost be home with the third deal that allows the production split to be 75% owned by Disney.
Edit: It would be too much control for Disney to handle Spider-Man and it may not happen, but it also may be inevitable if Kraven and Madame Web underperform.
