Oh how wonderful it would have been to watch Mr Hulce get up there as a "new rising star", going from virtually being unknown to winning Best Actor for a lead role in one of the greatest movies ever made, declaring himself gay and proud in front of the whole world. Being aware of the potential risk of damaging a promising career before it even took off. And I can't help but wonder what an impact it could have made for the queer comunity back in 1984 during the AIDS epidemic and all. The nervous smile and that kindness in his eyes. there's evidence for both my bartkon and timkon affinities on this blog (and the much rarer, most refined of timbarts)

the truth is i like pretty much any ship as long as its got an interesting dynamic to play off of (and usually comedy potential) and kon is a great character because he has an interesting dynamic with basically everybody

the yj crew in general has kind of a perfect blend of defined characters and interesting dynamics that could create all kinds of cool story potential, romantic or not. but vis a vis Romances Specifically..... hold on you've got me thinking about this now im gonna do a thing one sec

i hate when people say jiang yanli has no personality. danmei authors (including mxtx) do have a poor track record with female characters but jiang yanli is NOT poorly written.

she's one of the few characters who speaks out against people far more powerful than her. whenever someone slanders wei wuxian (including her future in-laws!) or demands she stay away from him (yu ziyuan), jiang yanli defies them. she purposely chooses over and over to break those rules and expectations and cares for him, explicitly reminding everyone that wei wuxian is her brother.

jiang yanli is very powerless, both politically and in terms of cultivation, despite being the eldest daughter of a great sect. once she gets married to jin zixuan, her power diminishes even further, mirroring people like her mother and madam jin. unlike them, though, yanli chooses to do good wherever she can.

her showing up at nightless city may read as stupid, but it's one last act of defiance. she's a symbol at that point, the poor newlywed widow (with a baby!) who treated wei wuxian like family, only to be repaid this way... jiang yanli is still upper class, so her actions will be retroactively justified. the new spin is that it's wei wuxian's fault. evil demonic cultivator, son of a servant, took advantage of her kindness... they twist the sibling relationship to justify their political goals of murdering wei wuxian.

jiang yanli is not a fighter, she wasn't meant to be there, and the fact that she STILL defied everyone's expectations to be present is the point. she's the ONLY person at nightless city who was there purely to talk to wei wuxian again instead of to fight, capture, or kill him.

jiang yanli ultimately dies not because of wei wuxian, but because the people who are most willing to stand up against injustice are those most powerless. because those most powerless are most vulnerable to systematic violence. because they are often most easily twisted to suit the agendas of the politically powerful.

wolcred gets to have one (1) nice little moment after prae. this is their first time properly speaking to each other as each other since Lahabrea, and the first time thancred has the opportunity to really ponder the mystery job change. (which he thinks he's responsible for. in part.)

i think misha realizes how out of it thancred really is shortly after and starts icing him out. he's also nursing his brand new scar, courtesy of lahabrea-as-thancred, which he's not really sure how to feel about. and he definitely doesn't want to put that burden on thancred so soon after they get him back. it's not sexy to have to face the consequences of your own failure permanently etched into the body of your lover!

genuinely I don't think they could have pulled a better power move on the mental optics of Arthur Fleck/ Joker than the fact that he holds himself accountable rather than dismiss the violence he had about himself and that he perpetuated on others. it really frames the character himself as someone emotionally capable of meaningful introspection and change which is something you just don't see even remotely to nearly an explicit degree with any other joker portrayal (let alone portrayals of mental illness in mass media and depictions of "villainy" that so often fall so short of this mark)

A wolf-like creature that knows 2 or 3 languages and will swiftly turn on thier rider if mistreated! Last they bothered listing the size they were 3 ft (91 cm) at the shoulder, 5 ft (1.5 m) long. But the picture shows it at nearly twice that, around 5 ft (1.5m) tall and 8 ft (2.4 m) long. Whichever works for you I suppose, maybe it's regional.

On the right, Erinyes! 6 ft (1.8 m) fallen angels that carry "rope of entanglement" and can summon a friend! They go where they want, only answer to rulers of hell despite being "lesser" devils, often refuse promotion to stronger forms because they just love being themselves, and enjoy seducing people. Being named after cthonic goddesses of vengeance, they hound mortals who break infernal contracts or laws...but will turn on the devils if they feel the mortal didn't get thier end of the bargain. They also like having children, and are very protective parents. They don't have horns though, that's just thier armor.
