Review: The Spellbook Library by Uta Isaki.

When he was a child, troublemaker Yan was attacked by a ferocious spellbeast…until he was rescued by a group of Spellbook librarians. Inspired by the librarians’ heroic efforts, Yan vows to turn over a new leaf and become a Spellbook librarian to repay their kindness. On the day of his employment exam, he meets Tohru, a mysterious young boy who has his own reasons for wanting to work at the library. Together, Yan and Tohru set off and join the ranks of the Spellbook Library, and begin the long journey to learn just what it takes to become a Spellbook librarian!

As someone who loves a library, I found this premise so intriguing and it did, with characters the felt well developed and the start of a story that could go so many places.

Our lead characters Yan and Tohru are well developed, particularly Yan who we learn the backstory for from the beginning of the story - and makes it clear why he wants this role in the library, however I felt there needed to be more for the supporting characters, even Torhu now in the moment was well thoughtout, didn't feel like they were a full character quite yet.

However the premise is interesting and definitely I'd delve in deeper too, with a really interesting magic system and of course this series has such a great premise for adventure, with characters than when given more volumes could be great.

Would love to read more to see where Yan and Tohru go next!

anyways when i think of librarian reader from anaxa's fic, i like to think if they were a unit in hsr, they'd be wind/harmony and would serve as the best support for anaxa lmfao. and their outfit should have the same little cape/cloak that hyacine and anaxa do, and though it looks like their sleeves are connected to their shirt, it's not... surprise...

I thought if I told them something embarrassing enough, everyone would just accept it. Who lies to make themself look bad, right??? So I said that I had lice. And that we treated it last night, but Vanessa wanted me quarantined for 24 hours and checked again. But I stole Gil's hat to keep them contained because I just couldn't stand to disgrace my family name by missing my first day as a Pandora official.

Seemed good enough.

Yeah fucking right.

Made it about 40 minutes before Break found a window to get close enough and knock the hat off with his cane.

is the plant shop thing actually a wattpad cliche? tbh i thought itd be cute for mochi to run a lil plant nursery

it is but i might use it anyway AHAHA the wattpad cliche is usually like... "she worked a humble flower shop/coffee shop/bookstore when he walked in... 😌"

usually what fits with the story will just.....come to me. or click with me in a way that makes me go OH THATS PERFECT THATS THE ONE!!!!! and that feeling hasnt happened with mochis shop yet so im not sure what ill do!!

the plant shop is definitely a good backup though,.,, mochi could just grow/sell plants that she could also use as spell ingredients,,.. "if you put this house in the south corner of your bedroom it will bring good studying and grades"....
