MORE COWBOY AU STUFF BECAUSE I’M OBSESSED!!! The au I’ve made with some friends is called Fool’s Gold! I may or may not write some fics for it 👀

Here’s an infodump on it if anyone is interested!!

Raph is tired sheriff who sighs at every newspaper & new wanted poster showing off his blue and purple brothers as well as Donnie’s partner in crime but a he can’t help but be a little proud because he knows their doing good, just in their own special & questionable way.

Mikey is a nomad that travels around & sells self-woven clothes and blankets as well as hand carved & painted trinkets or whatever else he’s made. He treats weary travelers to home cooked meals & tales & legends of four brothers! He’s also the only brother not *constantly* making trouble for Raph.

Leo is a lone hero. Going town to town & over throwing whatever greedy mayor/banker/outlaw has that town in its clutches. He’s able to masterfully manipulate whoever he’s dealing with & using his many resources to gather important information. He ties them up to a post for the sheriff’s convenience when he comes by the town to pick them up.

Donnie & Cass are bounty hunters/mercenaries. They used to chase each other for their bounties & because Cass was a part of the Foot before the brothers took them down & Donnie just so happens to often be the closest to her trail once she popped up again. After awhile of constantly failing to catch each other they started thinking of each other as *their* targets & everyone knew better than to try and catch the other. A fun little song & dance/game of cat & mouse if you will. Eventually they ended up having to run from the same person together & realized that they honestly make a good team & have stuck together ever since!

Shelldon is adopted by Donnie before he & Cass teamed up. He was told by the Purple Dragons to get close to Donnie so they could catch him in exchange for enough money to set him for life, money they had no intention on giving him. He did get close to Donnie but in the end didn’t want to betray him but the Dragons had accounted for that & set off an explosion in a mining tunnel to get rid of them both. Donnie ended up being able to get Shelldon a little clear of the crumbling tunnel before he was trapped under the rumble. Shelldon doesn’t want to leave him but eventually does & immediately goes to try to find help, coming across Leo who had found Donnie’s spooked horse & was trying to find out what trouble Donnie had gotten himself into since his horse never leaves unless something really bad happened. Donnie ends up losing a leg cuz is it truly an F!Donnie if he doesn’t?

Casey is adopted after Donnie & Cass team up. They were in town for some groceries when Raph told them about this kid in some not so great circumstances & said it’d be a shame if someone were to beat up his guardians & kidn@p him while he was busy with all this paperwork. Donnie & Cass were gone before he finished. They weren’t gonna pass up an opportunity where they had permission to do a crime after all!

The main difference between Leo & Donnie’s work is that Donnie always cashes in the bad guys for money & can be hired for jobs as well as uses semi lethal methods while Leo mainly does it for fun & justice (& to mess with Raph) & takes like a free drink as payment before moving on. Leo will leave notes on the bad guys for Raph for when he comes to pick them up.

“The Bread Winners” is the name of Donnie, Casey, Shelldon, & Junior’s gang because Casey’s brownie scouts & my Donnie baker hc. It also shows that they’re in it for the money & fits with how the go undercover as a family often. Plus it sounds innocent enough to disguise how insane they really are.

Picturing how devastating it would be for vDonnie to realize they have a human friend, April, who they’ve adopted into their family. They claim to not believe that he’s their brother, using that as the reason to dismiss him the way they do, but then don’t seem to even care about the technicality of it when it comes to her regardless. That’s not fair! She’s not even a turtle! He’s the real one! He’s real! If they would just-

So I'm SUPERRR curious as to what that whole situation is gonna look like, like... once they're all cool

i dont think he would compare their experiences as being "outcasts" brought into the family to feel angry and jealous, just because there's this stupid delusional part of himself that thinks if he just keeps pushing and pushing that they'll let him in. he'll earn their respect. they'll care about him if he just makes enough of a scene. even when he's furious with them, or terrified of them, or hopeless and in despair-- he never thinks to stop. this is all that he has, and it's what's keeping him going. their perception of him as "parasocial and delusional" actually does have legs, the reason is just really sad (he makes himself into the villain and them into the heroes knowingly, but in a lot of ways that's because they were his childhood heroes. the source of comfort he leaned onto and fantasized about at the bottom of the dumpster or in a ditch. and that really influences the way he looks at them, even when he's combative and rude and standoffish there's this... blind reverence. he's learned they'll never come to save him, so this is the best he has).

if anything he might see the fact that april's with them, and essentially a piece of their family in a way, to be a good sign. as suspicious as the whole thing sounds (they can just??? befriend humans???), it's proof that they dont have to see him as their biological brother to care. if anything, it'd fill his big dumb heart with even more hope and excitement... poor kid

ngl i could see him having a "how did you get them to love you" talk with her even before the "adoption" omg that's so SAD.... april thinks she's in a regular hostage situation when he kidnaps her, which is the case, but then he just drops that atomic bomb of angst into her lap. and she's super pissed off about the kidnapping but she also lowkey feels too bad to beat him up LOL

^^^ this is especially because i dont think their relationship would be all that negative! it might be the most positive before mikey's behavior starts to shift, just because unless he's getting in the way of her attempting to be a normal functional person, she's usually pretty excited to fight him, and that goes both ways because someone is happy to see him and she's not physically stronger than him (unlike his brothers, who very much are, especially because they're eating more than he is and training more regularly + they have mystic powers).

i could see them having a funny dynamic actually, like he kicks down the door of the place she's working with a big fuckoff evil death ray and she's like "BRO NOT RIGHT NOW I AM TRYING TO KEEP MY JOB CAN YOU GO AWAY" and he's like "oh okay later sorry 👍" and he spends the next 20 minutes repairing the door before leaving politely. the bros are confused by how the fuck this works because he never leaves THEM alone, but that's because he's not like,, fixated on april like that. it paves the way for them to have a pretty good and healthy friendship later.

*BIG INHALE* Hi! I’ve been rotating the Spikeangelo au in my brain for a while, and things might get incomprehensible real quick. Not all questions, some just comments... 90% of this is just musing as the train of thought jumps rails and causes massive casualties; no need to answer all if you chose to answer any.

1. The fact that Master Splinter lets Titan live with them BEFORE he knows that he’s a version of Mikey, even after the attempted murder… man will look at a mutated turtle, ask, “Is anyone going to adopt that?” and not wait for an answer.

2. In Turtle Temper, Splinter says, “Spike, chew on your leaf if you are in the mood for a story”. Ronin has a choice here: pest Raph by eating, or troll Splinter by not. What choice would he make?

3. It seems like during the Slash and Destroy episode, Titan already had his outfit. If so… where did he get the clothes? The little turtles don’t really wear anything (and their clothes would be much smaller), so unless Splinter has a secret goth wardrobe, the only thing I can think of is that Raph is Very Optimistic about how tall he’s going to get, and has stockpiled clothes accordingly.

4. A while back you mentioned Titan “chewing [Shredder] out” after Shredder kills Splinter during the Triceraton invasion. The image you drew made it look like a tirade, but the first thing that came to mind for me was… more along the lines of using Shredder as a dog toy.

5. You said that after Slash and Destroy, Titan hides for a while out of shame. When does he rejoin the others? Before the invasion, *during* the invasion, after? Does he join the farmhouse arc, or does he do as canon Slash does and defend NYC while the rest of the turtles are gone?

Ah... there's a very long part six that's just about the ghosts... I don't think I'll be bothering you with that today.

1) Yep! Idk whats with the Splinters, but if it's turtle-shaped and needs a home, well say no more!

When Spike turned to Titan, Splinter already sensed something off with him, something more familiar than a family pet, but he would never figure out why until their lair is attacked by the kraang at the start of the invasion.

It's hard not to realize that your son's former pet knows moves (and shows a strange amount of wisdom) that you're 90% sure you never taught or shown to any of your sons.

I think he's still upset about the pizza. Or Raph's anger.

Okay, well... Shredder ALMOST became a dog toy. Let's just say that (this will totally not be a future comic)

5) He reunites with them after the newtralizer arc! After a little convincing ofc

When the invasion begins, he's with Splinter and Leatherhead, having defended their home and now searching for the turtles. They find Shredder after they exit the sewer, and Titan isn't too pleased to see the old bastard, attacking him in a rage once he hears about Leo's possible "demise."

Unfortunately, when he gains the upper hand, Titan is the one caught off guard and knocked into the machine, crushed by the pipes.

Before Shredder could really begin his usual evil monologue, he becomes distracted with Leatherhead, allowing Splinter to check on Titan and help him out of the pile of metal. Despite the likelihood of having a huge bruise on his ribs, he'd be fine. Even better if he could get rid of all their issues right there in front of him.

The one wrestling an alligator. And somehow winning.

And when he sees that devil in that all too familiar armor toss leatherhead into the pit, he's all too ready to kill him.

Yet he can't. Because He's not the only one wanting to prevent the past from happening again.

Splinter sends him away to find his sons, Titan's brothers - well, sorta - and even if he wants to bring Oroku Saki, the worse pain imaginable, he's more concerned if they are okay.

Okay, well, if the rest of them are okay

COUGH COUGH.

He'd find them, with him.

And uh. I think Leo's perfectly fine.

So when they decided to leave for April's farmhouse, he stayed in the city to search for Splinter and the other Mutanimals after leaving Leo with the others.

Maybe he sees himself as a burden.

Batman left Gotham for 2 months.

2 MONTHS!!!!

And he was already talking to Alfred about someone coming with him to stay at the manor.

No further explanation, just that someone was coming to stay at the manor.

When the others heard the news, their first thoughts went to ‘Bruce-adopted-another-kid’ to ‘Bruce-is bringing-a-partner’.

They were right about one of them.

Batman is standing by the batcomputer as the others file in.  They all take notice of the slight bulge coming from inside Bruce’s cape. Bruce: “Thank you all for coming down on such short notice. Duke: “We’re just glad you made it back safe.” Dick: “How was the mission—” Steph: “What’s with the cape?” Cass: “Someone there?” There is giggling from the cape. GIGGLING!!! Bruce sighs a bit. Bruce: “I would like you all to meet our newest member—” Jason: “No…” Bruce: “Of the family—” Jason: “Noo…” Bruce: “Jason… He—” Jason: “Bruce I swear it’s an addiction at this point.” Tim: “You were gone for 2 months B!” Bruce glares at them to quiet down as he lifts his cape to reveal who was underneath it. …A humanoid turtle with a neon orange mask, that barely even made it past Bruce’s hip. Everyone is stunned. Bruce gently places a hand behind the turtle. Bruce: “This is Angelo, and he will be staying with us.” Angelo looks up at Bruce, almost waiting for a signal. Bruce nods for him to go. The turtle immediately puts on a bright smile and bounds to Dick first, eagerly shaking his hand. Angelo: “Hi there! I’m Angelo! Nice ta meet ya!”

The arrival of Angelo was something that the others were not expecting.

Having a mutant turtle teen around the manor was an adjustment, especially after learning about his habits.

Dick has flashbacks to his Robin days when he gets a water ballon to the face and eerie laughter coming from somewhere.

Wally is very confused when Dick suddenly calls him at 3 in the morning apologizing for the laughter in his Robin days.

The first people, besides Bruce, to bond with the newest member were Alfred, Damian and Jason.

Due to Angelo’s late-night tendency to wander around the manor at night and eating habits, the three of them often found him around.

Angelo was easy to talk to for Jason and Damian.

Jason always had a bit of a soft spot for younger kids.

He soon became a storyteller for the kid after a bit of time passed.

Red Hood soon found some small designs on his guns.

Doodles that he refuses to tell anyone else who did them.

Damian was already friends with Jon, the second person he knew was the embodiment of sunshine, Angelo was almost no different.

It also helped that the teen was very good with paints and colors.

The youngest Wayne has a sketch book filled with sketches of Angelo, finding him to be a new challenge to sketch and paint.

Alfred, as much as he hated the pranks that got out of hand, loved the little one already.

The look of adoration and respect from the little one was heartwarming… yet a bit alarming.

One doesn’t look at someone like that unless they are reminded of someone.

But who?

Another question that Bruce was going to have to have answer later if Angelo didn’t tell him first.

Jason: “So, Angelo. How did you and Bruce meet?” Angelo is trying to reach for some pizza on the top shelf of the fridge. Angelo: “Bruce told me not to tell.” Damian raises an eyebrow. Damian: “And why would Father tell you that?” Angelo manages to reach for the pizza and closes the fridge. Angelo: “I think he’s a bit embarrassed on how we met.” Both of their eyebrows raise. Jason: “How embarrassing are we talking about?” Alfred suddenly appears behind Angelo. Alfred: “Master Angelo, I do hope we are not eating pizza at this hour.” Angelo freezes before quickly putting the pizza back in the fridge. Angelo: “Nothing here! And I think I heard a bird calling! Gotta go!”

Up next where Dick, Tim and Duke.

Angelo loved doing acrobatic tricks with the eldest boy.

Soon after Dick decided to call him his brother, Nightwing soon had a little shadow following him for a week.

It was also during that week that Dick received a custom-made dog collar for Haley.

Tim wanted to hate Angelo.

Not because he didn’t like the little ball of energy.

But because he was trying to get him on a sleep schedule.

Never had he seen a glare that could rival Bruces ‘Batglare’ over going 3 minutes past a ‘bedtime’.

Besides that Tim does ask questions about Angelo’s physiology… which aren’t all answered but they are still answers!

There is only so much a teen knows about his own body.

Duke doesn’t know what he did to deserve this.

All he can remember was casually passing Angelo the last slice of pizza during a game night and now he has a partner in justice.

Before Bruce had officially set out a patrol schedule for Angelo, before any of them even knew that Angelo could fight, Angelo was out there with him.

No amount of telling could waver this turtle.

It brings a lot of questions for Duke once he gets a sneak peak at Angelo’s hiding abilities and fast reflexes.

Duke is walking by the halls of the manor only to stop suddenly. Dick was at a doorway snickering while filming something. Duke: “Dick?” He looks inside. Tim is on the floor with his chest to the ground while pillows and blankets sprawled out around him. He is trying his best to move the turtle shell on his back. Tim: “Angelo! Get off!” Angelo from inside the shell: “I told you not to mess with me Tim! Now suffer the consequences!” Duke: “What happened?” A three fingered hand waves at him and Dick. Angelo: “Hiya! Timmy here is learning what happens when you cross me.” Duke: “You can’t be that heavy… right?” Dick just laughs. Dick: “Dead weight is something different Duke. And this is going to the group chat.” Tim: “Don’t you dare!”

Cass, Steph and Barbara came next.

Steph and Angelo clicked almost instantaneously.

Alfred’s attempts to get the turtle to eat better are being thwarted by the teen’s late-night waffle and pizza nights.

Steph was also the first to realize that Angelo had an amazing hand at braiding and styling hair, despite having three fingers on each hand.

To Angelo, Barbara was amazing.

He especially loved watching her work with her computer magic.

Sure, he didn’t know what was happening, but he liked being near her and hearing the clicks of the keyboard.

She received a painted keyboard and decorated wheelchair after a month being in the manor.

Cass was a special case.

Not that it had to do with anything bad.

It’s just that she was one of the first to notice Angelo was built for fighting.

After a sparring match, it only made her point clear.

It was a bit weird seeing someone, when focused enough, had skills that would catch her off guard.

Angelo makes sure to tell her to tone it down in sparring when she gets into a mood.

Angelo is happily laying on the ground reading a comic book. Babs, Cass and Steph are sitting around his back with paintbrushes. Barbara: “And are you sure these paints are safe for your shell?” He nods happily. Angelo: “Yep! Made these myself!” Steph: “And you don’t mind anything on your shell, right? Because if you don’t say anything now don’t get mad if there’s something you don’t like.” Mikey: “Nope! I want all the paints and doodles you guys got! Paint me!”

It is very noticeable that Angelo cared very deeply for Bruce.

The first week since the introductions the turtle was by his side.

Sure, if he saw anyone else, he would gladly greet them and maybe start a conversation if he was up for it.

Its almost comical seeing Angelo wrapping himself in Bruce’s cape while doodling in his sketch book.

Bruce does not say much about the turtle’s past or how they met, claiming it to be ‘a story for later’.

He can only prolong the inevitable for so long.

And he knows this.

It’s only a matter of time before the kids find out, or worse…

When the League finds out about Angelo.

But if he’s careful enough, he can keep him under wraps for a bit longer.

…Right?

Batman is at the Watch Tower finishing a meeting with the Justice League. There is a knock at the door. Superman: “You can come in.” The door opens a bit, and Batman nearly has a stroke. Angelo drags in a wagon filled with pizzas, sodas and games. He has the brightest smile on his face and waves at Batman. Angelo: “Hiya B!” Every single leaguer has to either do a double take, look at Batman, or simply look the other way because that smile is too bright. Superman: “Batman? You know this… umm…” Angelo: “I’m Angelo! Nice to meet some of Batman’s other friends!” There’s some snickering in the room. Wonder Woman: “Hello Angelo.” Angelo flashes her a smile and shakes her hand. He does this and gets introduced quickly to the other Leaguers. Batman comes up to him quickly. Batman: “Angelo, why are you here? You are not supposed to be here, you know that.” Angelo looks down at the floor, a bit sad, which makes several Leaguers already want to tell the Bat off. Angelo: “I know, but you looked kinda sad this morning and wanted to cheer you up! And nothing cheers a person up like a pizza party! So, I made everything here! Well, besides the soda and games. But the pizzas are just done!” Hearts are melting and Bruce doesn’t know what to do. Angelo: “Plus! I invited everyone else!” Batman turns a bit pale: “What…”

Let's be real, if Takemichi had meet Shinichiro when he was young, Shin would have literally adopted him like he did with Seishu and Izana XD (Imagine Tiny Mitchy spend time in the shop, meeting Inui, and Then meeting Koko, maybe meeting Izana). but then he would have probably followed (Big Brothers) Inui and Koko in the Black Dragons under Taiju's rule.

Shinichiro just seems to adopt every child that wanders into his bike shop/ he knows. Takemichi probably would've ended up in a similar position to Inui, as in Izana trying to use him for something black dragons related. Unless Inui tried to keep Takemichi out of it, also Izana may have seen him as being a bit too young since Kakucho also wasn't involved and they should be the same age. Then he probably does end up being in Taiju's black dragons instead of toman. Though I think Mikey would've met him at the bike shop a few times and would want him in toman too. I could actually see there being an issue when tenjiku comes around though, especially if Izana also sees Shinichiro in Takemichi. Meaning he could try to take both Koko and Takemichi.

*pushing my glasses back up my nose* It's also interesting how some Mikes are exceptionally unique to their environment and how you cannot get these specific Mikes again unless you go back in time and make more at their point of origins.

Like, you can always have Michaels. A Michael is a Mike who is 40+ years old - but they don't always have to be cowboys, like VHS Michael. Though you can also easily obtain a cowboy!Michael if you want.

But you can't just get an Old Man out of the blue - Old Man is a very specific Michael who went through very specific circumstances to be who he is right now (Dome iteration → attacked by Lieutenant → saved by Mdawg → adopted by the Crust Punks)

But you can easily get another Lieutenant if you wanted. He can just be appointed out of the Michael Army.

You can have as many Mikeys as you want, Mikey is just the youngest Mike Walters and the Compound has hundreds, if not thousands (although Compound Mikeys are their own section). You can iterate a Mikey from any point in the previous seasons, like Baby Mikey in episode 123.

But you can never just get another MW. He's a mass consolidated OverMike with a southern accent who was adopted by Michael and joined Sat Base, taking on the role of Mikey's protector when Mike or Michael aren't around.

okay now I'm curious, what's YOUR favourite TMNT fic?

Ok the first one is pretty obvious, I've made so much art for it lol, but 'welcome home brother' by optimisticallycynical is my current favorite fic lol, the premise is that rise Leo never makes it out of the prison dimension. A grieving Donnie refuses to believe he's dead and searches the multiverse for his missing brother, that's when he finds 2012 Leo. He basically tortures 2012 Leo a bunch to try to "revert him back to his old self" aka rise Leo. It's super fucked up but so great. Don't read it unless if you have a very thick skin, and take all of the warnings very seriously.

Next up: 'Ghost in the shell' by AmevelloBlue, I feel like everyone knows about this fic, for good reason it's so good. This fic is about the 2003 Donny from same as it never was that disappeared, and where he ended up. It's rise. He ended up in rise. The story follows him being a depressed homesick guy, and he eventually adopts the rise turtles and everything is still depressing! :D

Leaving, Leaves, Left ( --- ——— -—- -—- —-—— ) by UnsweetenedTea a really nice one-shot where 2003 Donny has a little sad boy talk with Casey Jones jr about trauma basically.

How to accidentally kidnap yourself several times over by Camildeni is a fic where rise Mikey gets kidnapped and tried to open a portal home but accidentally teleports a bunch of alternate versions of himself into the cell with him, where the essentially starve to death. It's actually kind of dark, but also really cute!

Thought I would crawl out of my adult cave and answer an ask that spoke to me. And as a country bumpkin (hoot hoot, very, very south georgia), I can say this hits the mark. I'm gonna do a little of all the turtles and

Now, as someone who grew up around people who talked like me, I assumed I could hide it well. But that wasn't until I started sending audio messages back and forth with @moxfirefly did I realized how bad it was... Now I've never tried writing a southern accent, despite having one, so bear with me.

OMIGODDDDD Okay, i know ive been gone for a WHILE and mostly talk about the owl house on here but im getting FED UP with seeing people defending leorai on here and i NEED to say smth lmao Leo and Karai ARE siblings. That is the end of that. There is no "no they aren't" to it. Because they are. To say they AREN'T means you are completely invalidating any adoptive relationship. You think that adoptive siblings aren't real siblings, you think that adoptive parents do not care about their children in the same way they do for their biological ones, you are completely discrediting the fact that adoptive parents care for their adoptive children the same as their biological children. I've seen this argument used COUNTLESS times to defend ships, that because the siblings are "Adopted" it's fine to ship them. No it's not! It's not okay to ship leo and karai, who ARE adoptive siblings, it's not okay to ship sal fisher and larry because they are ADOPTIVE SIBLINGS, it's not okay to walk up to a real life adoptive sibling duo and tell them you ship them or see them as a couple! Splinter adopted the turtles. Yes, in a very very unorthodox way, but he still adopted them and took care of them as his own children for FIFTEEN YEARS, raising them to be loved like his own children, raising them like siblings. Shredder DID NOT adopt Karai morally, he KIDNAPPED HER and lied to her for 16 years, he never raised her with love, and he never raised her to view the people she was surronded by as her own family. He never told her the truth, he never gave her attention unless it was needed. Did he care for her? Yes, i will not deny he cared for her, but it was less "he cares for her like a father" and more "he cares for her because hes invested 16 years caring for her." When Karai found out the truth and started somewhat living with the turtles, she called Splinter father. Mikey repeatedly called her sister. The turtles for the most part all viewed her as their sister. The five of them all called the exact same man "father." They have the same last name. And once they all figured it out KARAI WAS RAISED TOGETHER WITH THE TURTLES!!! Biologically, Leo and Karai are not siblings. But morally, ethically, technically, legally, they are. Stop discrediting adoptive familial relationships to support your incestuous ship. (and yes! surprise! It's still incest because they are family! incest isn't just based on actual genetics believe it or not :P) And atp, if after reading all that you STILL wanted to defend and ship leorai, just block me. it's not worth reading your dumbass logic in a reblog, don't take the effort to try and "correct" any information, just block me. i don't want to see it anyway have a lovely day and sorry for the tangent lmao

1. If Leo/Donnie lost their twin (like Draxum did) (and didn’t have April growing up) would they have followed a similar path as Draxum? Did Draxum recognize anything faintly alike in the twins that he and his sister shared/did/had as well, or does that go too hard against his son-fantasies?

2. What was your favorite scene in Third from the Son?

1. At this point in the story, if Leo were to meet Gale right now, on the street (highly unlikely but if he were to) would he try to kidnap him? Or would he follow through with his current way and only talk to/actively avoid Gale? - Leo did nearly get him killed, I do imagine Gale does hate him deeply. But at the same time, I didn‘t get the feeling that Gale harbors any revenge fantasies/a particular rage for Leo rn… probably mostly because he has other problems rn

Angel was on my boobs getting pet when I read this lol. Then he went over to beep at my mom while she was reading a book. She thought he wanted to read with her. (he actually wanted her chocolate kisses, which he did not get because he is a bird)

1-If they had lost their twin really young, probably not. It would have still colored a lot of their development and stayed with them for the rest of their lives, but unless it was particularly violent or something (like one twin witnessing the other getting beaten to death by a mob of racist humans) I don't see it shaping their worldview too much.

If it happened now, I don't think they'd strictly go genocidal-but they'd wrap a lot of themselves into destroying whatever it was that killed their twin. If Draxum had killed Donnie after he refused to join him and then started his army, Leo would lose himself in taking Draxum down. By the end of it he wouldn't be recognizable anymore. He wouldn't blame all Yokai, but he'd definitely do some morally fucked-up shit to objectively innocent people in his quest to destroy Draxum. I feel like that happened to some extent in the bad future after Donnie and Raph were killed by the Krang.

1.5-Draxum really hasn't spent enough time with Leo to form an opinion on that. The only thing he's really noticed is that the twins really look alike. That's no surprise, of course, they're biologically half-brothers and their human DNA is all carbon copies of each other's, they're not clones in the sense that they're perfect replicas of their DNA donor but they do all share the exact same grab bag of traits when it came to selecting their features. If anything, it's surprising that he got as much visual variance as he did. But he has noticed that Leo and Donnie look more like each other than they do Raph or Mikey, or Mikey to Raph. Just in terms of body type and facial features, they're the ones who look the most like Lou Jitsu.

And Draxum has a-weird relationship with his image of Lou Jitsu. He does a lot of compartmentalizing, for one, he knows that Splinter and Lou Jitsu are the same person but they are very separated in his mind. He likes to think of Galois as his and Lou Jitsu's son and the other boys as Splinter's children. He knows this doesn't make sense. But he spent thirteen years assuming that Lou Jitsu and the turtles died shortly after escaping his lab, and when he found out the turtles were still alive he assumed that Lou must have died of his injuries and a human or Yokai had found and adopted them. The groundwork was already there, so it wasn't necessarily too much mental gymnastics to just go on thinking of the person who raised the turtles as a completely unrelated interloper into his family.

All this to say, Draxum has a weird way of dealing with the fact that his beloved son is also the child of the person he loathes most in the world and is completely in love with at the same time. He hadn't decided exactly what the cover story he would tell Galois would be, but before Gale said that he knew Splinter was Lou Jitsu he was leaning more towards telling him that Lou Jitsu was the corpse he took Gale's human DNA from and that the rat was just some loser pretending to be him. So it's very uncomfortable, with Gale looking like Lou Jitsu and also knowing that Lou Jitsu is the rat, meanwhile Leo is here looking for all the world like Gale's long-lost twin brother. (part of his guilt over hurting Leo might actually be the fact that Leo looks so much like his son, so it's easier to visualize Gale in his place-he does genuinely feel bad for other reasons, but that could be one)

Thankfully Donnie and Raph were never super close, so other than their combined 'fuck it, we ball' attitude-which Draxum hasn't seen much of from Raph because he's still trying to be a polite young man-there hasn't been many similarities to raise Gale's suspicions or bother Draxum.

2-Despite not giving myself a ton of time to work on them, I think the last two chapters came out pretty well. The reverse-kidnapping attempt from Gale's POV, the chapter where everyone finds out about the Mikey-Galois library trips, and Draxum and Leo's fight on the roof are also ones I really like how they turned out. And a little understated, the chapter where Draxum has to take care of a sick Galois was something I really wanted to show despite really not being important to the plot.

3-I'd say at this particular moment, he'd either pretend not to see him or would try to ask about Raph and make sure he's okay. He's accepted that the reverse-kidnapping attempts did more harm than good and are not going to work, and he can't go with his back-up plan of surrendering himself to Draxum and leave his dad with just Mikey. He's hoping Raph has his own plan, and Leo's meddling could only work against him.

But that's also right now. That answer might change if Draxum was winning or losing the war to a great extent. The former because "dude so many people are dead because I let that sheep use my brother," the latter because anyone in Draxum's party when he loses is going to lose their head in a very literal manner. He might trust Raph, but if it looks like they're going to be executed for Draxum's bullshit he is definitely going to intervene.

I would also like you to know that Angel is gay and loves men. Whenever our landlord is over Angel goes wild over him. (landlords also have a preteen daughter who loves Angel, but of course he could care less about her) He's still not quite sure about my sister's boyfriend but I think he'll soon want to sit exclusively on boyfriend's shoulder when he's over. We're not entirely sure if his mate was female, she whistled like a boy and they never did the dirty bird, so possibly they were just gay birds. This terrorist is a walking diversity win.

Been cooking my own tmnt iteration for a while, dunno how much will live anywhere but my brain but I wanna do some refs, so here's the turts!

I've been calling it Teenage Mutant Jazz Turtles or tmjt for short

As the name implies, tmjt has more inspiration drawn from musical elements than combat elements. With the turtles not only living in a big ol' tour bus but also attempting to become a competent band after finding their magical instruments. But the ones they discover aren't the only ones out there, and some belong to some pretty nasty characters. (All the villains are gonna have a theme based on a different genre of music!)

The turtles travel and live with their dad (Splinter) and adopted sister (Casey). Originally just trying to survive but that kind of all changes when they accidentally interrupt a plan from the foot clan and not only discover some magical instruments that can turn into weapons, but also an entire world of monsters and creatures when they thought they were the only ones.

Leo is the oldest sibling, but despite this she struggles to be responsible for her siblings after her gender realizations caused a massive crack in her confidence. She's constantly self conscious of how others are perceiving her, even her own family in spite of their boundless support. She's always loved music, thanks to her dad, and dreams of being a singer, but because of how her mouth is built that's also an uphill battle. Her duel katanas can shift into a cello which can put opponents into a trance like sleep. While her given name was Leonardo, she's not sure what she wants to change it to, and simply goes by Leo for the time being. While she doesn't like to show her mouth, her teeth and jaw are powerful enough to bite through a steel knife.

Donnie is the second oldest (by just four days!) and is the one who stepped up to be in charge while Leo figures things out. He doesn't entirely mind the responsibility, though the pressure gets to him sometimes. Especially when Raph decides to criticize his decisions. They're very analytical and logical, their main passion being for mathematics which extends into some of the sciences as well such as physics. They know enough engineering to maintain the tour bus and build a few helpful devices such as their goggles or the calculator in their glove. Donnie puts his passion for math into music, using it to map out patterns for tunes (though not all of them sound good in the end). Their four eyes also have an additional lens to see heat signatures (and their dark vision is incredible). Donnie's clarinet allows him to create visual illusions.

Raph is the second youngest (by four days, Donnie constantly reminds him) and despite his appearance is one of the more level headed members of the family. You kind of have to learn how when your body could release gases that could paralyze your family members. Raph vents his frustration by either releasing gas that Donnie can convert into fuel for the bus or by writing poetry. Not that he ever lets the others read it, but he does put that skill into writing song lyrics. While he keeps cool and collected he still loves a good brawl, and will happily spar with anyone (usually Casey). He just leaves a lot of the destruction to his younger sibling, unless someone in his fam gets hurt, then the gloves are off. Raph is fiercely protective and will square up if someone so much as looks at one of his siblings funny, especially Leo. His high emotions are often why he and Donnie argue. Raph's trumpet can cause phantom pains in the skull, though he rarely has to use it give it how potent his gases can be.

Mikey, the youngest, is a tiny terror and he not only knows this, he takes great pride in it. Mikey enjoys causing chaos for the sheer joy of it, and enjoys it the most when Raph will simply hurl him at opponents for him to latch onto. Over the years he's learned to climb very well with his four arms, going up trees and buildings with ease which can make him very hard to chase after. Despite his love for trouble, however, he can be just as sweet, though his desire to do good deeds for his love ones can be a bit misguided at times (no Mikey you can't just rob the ice cream stand stop). Unfortunately as long as it keeps hiding behind Raph when the consequences happen, it may take some time to grow up (not that it has any interest in doing so right now). Mikey's drums allow him to create intense vibrations in the ground, enough to topple some buildings.

Asking some writers/artists I follow:

Is there anything in your fic/comic that you as the author know about, but won't end up in the actual story?

Hmmmm... I have a lot of little moments from the Grown Apart cast's individual upbringings that are kinda floating around in my head, but I have no idea yet if they'll make it into the comics. So, I'm not sure if those count. There are a few little canon details that I haven't figured out how to include in the comics just yet, though. Such as:

Donnie speaking in a posh English accent...but only some of the time - mostly when he's not with his family or if he's trying to impress someone. Reason being: Donnie doesn't naturally talk like Big Mama (though he may have adopted a tinge of her inflection with certain words or vowels), it's mostly something he puts on intentionally to sound more...closely related to her? It's become a habit, and he doesn't always realize when he's doing it anymore, unless the others point it out. But it disappears the moment he gets too worked-up/excited about something.

Because Mikey spent so much time looking for ways to occupy himself while Leo was off causing mischief with his friends, he has a wide range of obscure talents & skills, many of which I'll probably never end up showing in canon because they're not particularly relevant to the plot. For example: - Guitar playing - Card stacking - Cup stacking - Solving a rubix cube in under 3 minutes - Painting/writing with his toes - Ballet (beginner level, but he's working on it) - Making music with water glasses - Yo-yo tricks - Acrobatics - Silk flying - The ancient art of the Japanese tea ceremony - Crochet - Playing Chopsticks on his shell (with chopsticks)

That's all I've got off the top of my head right now. Unless you're referring to things like "ideas that were originally going to be part of the canon, but got scrapped somewhere along the way." There's a LOT of those, lol. Some of which I might still end up sharing at some point, because I illustrated a few of them early on when I was doing story beats, and I like the illustrations despite them not being accurate anymore.

Others, I don't necessarily want to expose just yet, because they might still end up getting used somewhere? Maybe in this story or maybe in a different one entirely, who knows. I like to keep "scrapped" ideas in my back pocket just in case I decide to come back to them later down the line.

Hi! Gosh the part in your Strength in Weakness story where Leonardo just breaks down after hurting Raphael was so well done 😭 which leads me to a QUESTION! How are each of the turtles with expressing emotions or crying in front of each other? I know in society boys (and teens at that), are typically not going to be publicly emotional.

Hello, another Anon! (seriously my brain is STRUGGLING trying to think of who this is.)

Thank you very much!!! As someone who has three siblings, I’ve somewhat been in that position a few times, so it came pretty naturally to write about it.

Ahhh good question!! I’ll go through all of them by their ages. (Heads up this is gonna be LONGG.)

Mikey- Mikey is the most open with how he feels towards his brothers. He’s never been afraid to cry in front of them, and is always encouraging them to be just as open with him. When Lotus comes around, this empathy and emotional-forwardness only grows, trying to prove to Lotus that she can trust the family with her heart.

Lotus- She takes a long time to willingly cry in front of her adopted brothers. The other times she’s wept in front of them were not really her choice. And if she could choose to not feel anything she would. She tries to keep her sob-story to herself unless the information is vital, (not only because it’s painful to relive those memories, but also because she hates being in the spotlight of any kind.) Besides crying, she is VERY open with expressing her annoyance and anger. Her temper is one that rivals Dons, so she wears a scowl more often than not. But on the more rare occasions, she willingly allows a smile and laugh to bloom on her face. (Especially if it cheers someone up.)

Don- Don doesn’t cry in front of anyone. Ever. Tears find his eyes foreign, and emotions that cause tears are just as odd to him. Going by logic, he has a very good life filled with a loving family and a safe home. Soooo no reason to be sad. With other emotions, especially anger, he uses his tone more often than his expression to voice it. (Except for with his twin, Raph. With him Don’s filter vanishes in an instant.) Logic and emotion don’t always go hand-in-hand, so his attempts to cheer someone up usually fall flat, accidentally being laced with apathy and hard, emotionless facts.

Raph- Tears are nothing but liquid weakness. Having that kind of emotional vulnerability exposes way too much, and therefore shouldn’t be allowed to be seen. Raph hates seeing his brothers upset, and so he assumes they feel the same way if they ever got the chance to see him be emotional. It doesn’t help that he has no clue HOW TO HELP, so WHY would he put someone else in that position??? But with anger, joy, and other stuff like that, he’s quite open with expressing himself to his family.

Leo- Emotions have two sides. They can push you and help you grow in passion and kindness. But they can also hinder you, make you not think straight, and cause you to fail those that you love. Tears are the same way. There’s a time to cry, even for a leader. But those times are few and far between, seeing how the leader needs to be the foundation of his team. How helpful can a foundation be when it’s crumbling and broken? Leo is usually adorned with a concern-filled expression. His anxiety always leaves thin lines near his eyes, and he finds it a bit difficult to goof off ever since becoming leader. But there are times that his family changes that. And he loves those moments dearly.
