i just finished watching scavenger's reign yesterday, and let me tell y'all this is genuinely the best piece of sci-fi media i have seen in a long while, and it's insane how little i've seen this show being discussed online! it is probably the most unique and viscerally stunning series i’ve ever seen. the world that they have created is equal parts fascinating and terrifying, and every part of it feels fully realized. sci-fi is at its best when it lets go of nostalgia and explores the unknown, and SR gives me hope that real sci-fi can take root again, and be something beyond what came before it.
i will refrain from giving too much away in my discussion because this show works best the less you know going into it. the premise for this show is simple: crewmembers of a crashed freighter ship are left scattered across an alien planet. a good chunk of time has already passed by the time the show begins, and a few of the survivors have already established camps. however, things quickly spiral out of control as disaster wipes away their progress and forces each of them to move on. it's a harsh and unforgiving world that tests them each and every step of the way on their journey.
Tumblr media
worldbuilding is where this show truly shines. it is no easy thing to design an entire ecosystem from scratch. it takes an insane amount of creativity and attention to detail to pull off what this show has. and my god did they fucking pull it off. living balloons floating through the air, large sea creatures that suck up their eggs when faced with danger, tendrilled plants that spawn clones of their prey to track them down - it is a frightening, surreal, and violent world, but harmonious in its own way. some creatures poison you, others clean off the poison. there are your typical type of predators that come at you with sharp fangs and giant pincers, but then there are predators that hunt via more insidious means: manipulating the memories of their prey to have them do their bidding, or hijacking their bodies from the inside. ultimately, the characters who fare best in this world are those who learn to adapt to it, and even sync with it.
SR also boasts a surprisingly well-crafted narrative. we are shown just enough of the world to keep us hooked, but it still feels like there is a lot left to be discovered. i also really enjoy the way the story is delivered to us. we follow the journeys of a few isolated groups whose paths gradually intersect. the characters are all fleshed out and three-dimensional - they were different enough to be unique and quirky, but never too different that it felt overboard. the way they react is exactly how humans in those circumstances would and should, the dialogue and voice acting were just superb. it felt so insanely real at times.
i really do hope that this show gets greenlit for a second season. this type of pure creative freedom is what we need right now. all in all, scavenger's reign is a gorgeous nightmare that you need to experience for yourself.

Personal Manifestion: Natal Chart Edition
Are we really able to discover our own personal manifestion styles, that work the best for us, on a personal level within our natal charts?
I've done extensive research, using a culmination of vedic and sidereal astrology. Since sidereal is most commonly used and easily understood, I have using this as my guideline. Apply all 3, sun, moon, and venus, as well as paying attention to sextiles or other harmonious aspects in your personal natal chart to these signs with Jupiter/North Node...
I hope you enjoy!

Several parts of a natal chart can provide insights into how a person can manifest abundance, love, and their desires. Here are some key areas to consider, along with manifestation techniques that may work well with each:

The 1st House
Tumblr media
personal impression, self-projection, and fresh beginnings
The 1st house in astrology encapsulates the initial impressions one leaves on the world and embodies the essence of self-projection. It serves as a canvas for fresh starts, a birthplace of individuality, and the genesis of personal endeavors.
The Beginning:
Upon birth, we enter a world that shapes the way we present ourselves. The 1st house represents the beginning of our personal story, reflecting our vitality, physical attributes, and our innate approach to life. As you gazed upon the stars on the horizon at your birth, this house imprinted its unique stamp on your existence.
Holistic Influence:
Much like a mold shaping clay, our birth environment—whether it be the town, street, or family dynamics—melds with the celestial energies of the 1st house, influencing our overall persona. The family plays a significant role, setting the stage for the roles we adopt, often driven by the needs of the familial unit.
The Development of Persona:
During childhood, the rising sign marks our first steps in constructing a persona—a mask of sorts—as we navigate the world. The 1st house invites us to immerse ourselves in its elemental essence, envisioning ourselves as children enveloped by these elemental forces. It's where we first grasp the need for a mask and begin constructing one.
The Quest for Identity:
Astrologers debate the importance of the Ascendant against the Sun sign, with some suggesting that the Ascendant steers us toward the promises held by our Sun sign, initiating a quest for our truer selves. This house embodies a journey of self-discovery, a path toward embracing individuality while breaking free from early influences.
Continuous Evolution:
Much like a mask we wear, the 1st house persona is an ever-evolving image, adaptable and changeable as we grow. Planetary transits through this house offer opportunities for reinvention, allowing us to redefine our self-image and reshape our perception of the world around us.
The Canvas of Self-Expression:
Symbolizing continuous refinement of identity, the 1st house empowers us to assert our uniqueness, paving the way for self-expression and new beginnings. It serves as a launching pad for personal projects and ambitions, fostering leadership qualities and a drive to define our own life paths.
Guiding the Inner Quest:
Ultimately, the 1st house guides us on a quest towards realizing our deeper selves, portraying not just personal identity but also influencing our approach to initiating various aspects of our lives. It beckons us to dive into the depths of our being, offering insights into our instinctive reactions and the way we present ourselves to the world upon arrival.

Explain the basic: The various practices
Let's dive into it right away!
Disclaimer: Everything I will talk about in this post is all information gathered from books and online research on affidable sites. Please be aware that when reading and learning about witchcraft, you have to have multiple sources of information to learn from. I will always be here teaching, but out there are people doing the same things! (have multiple sources to learn)
Tumblr media
In my last post about witchcraft, I talked in a general way about what witchcraft has in itself and what there is to study and know. Now we are going to talk about the many ways a witch can practice, discover, or try along the journey of becoming a witch;
Wicca: Wicca is a modern pagan witchcraft tradition founded by Gerald Gardner in the mid-20th century. It involves the worship of nature and a dual deity, the god and goddess. Wiccan practices often include the use of rituals, spells, and the observance of the Wheel of the Year.
Traditional Witchcraft: Traditional witchcraft is a term used to describe various pre-modern and folkloric practices that have been passed down through generations. These traditions often focus on practical magic, herbalism, and working with spirits and ancestors.
Kitchen Witchcraft: Kitchen witches focus on magical practices that revolve around everyday activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and gardening. They believe that magic can be found in simple, domestic tasks.
Hedge Witchcraft: Hedge witches often work with the spiritual world and practice divination, trance work, and shamanic journeying. They are known for their ability to "hedge ride" or travel between realms.
Eclectic Witchcraft: Eclectic witches draw from various traditions and practices, creating a personalized and unique path that suits their beliefs and needs. They may combine elements from different traditions and adapt them to their own practices.
Shamanic Witchcraft: This combines aspects of shamanism with witchcraft. Practitioners may work with spirits and totem animals and engage in journeying and spirit work.
Ceremonial Magic: Some witches incorporate elements of ceremonial magic into their practices, including the use of complex rituals and symbols and the summoning of spirits or deities.
Solitary Witchcraft: Many witches prefer to practice alone and are known as solitary witches. They create their rituals, spells, and magical practices without belonging to a specific coven or tradition.
Green Witchcraft: Green witches focus on herbalism, plant magic, and nature-based spirituality. They often work with the energies of the Earth and its natural elements.
Hereditary Witchcraft: Some individuals claim to have hereditary witchcraft in their family, passed down through generations. These practices can vary widely but often emphasize the importance of family traditions and rituals.
Chaos Magic: Chaos magicians embrace a more experimental and eclectic approach to magic. They often believe that belief itself is a powerful tool for creating change.
Modern Witchcraft: In recent years, witchcraft has experienced a resurgence in popularity, with a focus on self-empowerment, feminism, and personal transformation. This modern form of witchcraft often incorporates elements from various traditions.
Tumblr media
Obviously, as there are many types of practices, there are many types of magic:
Black Magic:Black magic, also known as "dark magic" or "left-hand path magic," is often associated with practices that are considered harmful, malevolent, or morally objectionable. It is believed to involve the use of supernatural forces or rituals to bring about negative outcomes, harm others, or achieve selfish or destructive goals. Examples of practices associated with black magic may include curses, hexes, necromancy, and invoking malevolent entities. These practices are often intended to cause suffering, illness, misfortune, or even death.
White magic: White magic, also referred to as "light magic" or "right-hand path magic," is typically associated with practices that are viewed as benevolent, healing, and morally acceptable. It involves using supernatural forces or rituals for positive and ethical purposes. White magic includes practices like healing spells, protection rituals, divination for guidance, and benevolent energy work. It aims to promote well-being, positivity, and the greater good.
Blood magic: Blood magic is a form of magic that involves the use of blood, either the practitioner's own blood or the blood of animals or other individuals, as a powerful and symbolic component in rituals and spells. Blood is believed to have a strong connection to life force and vitality. In blood magic, it can be used for various purposes, including sealing oaths, making pacts with supernatural beings, enhancing the power of spells, and connecting with ancestors or deities. (NOT EVERY DEITY WILL ASK YOU FOR BLOOD. THIS IS A TYPE OF MAGIC TO LOOK UP BEFORE YOU START. Blood is a POWERFUL intrusion.
Candle Magick: This type of magick involves using candles of different colors and inscribing them with symbols or intentions. The flame and wax are used as tools to manifest one's desires.
Sigil Magick: Sigil magick involves creating a symbol, or sigil, that represents a specific intention or desire. The act of creating and focusing on the sigil is believed to help manifest the desired outcome.
Crystal Magick: Crystal magicians work with the energies of crystals and gemstones to promote healing, protection, and other intentions. Each crystal is believed to have unique properties and energies.
Elemental Magick: This form of magick focuses on the elements (earth, air, fire, water, and sometimes spirit) and their corresponding energies. Practitioners invoke and work with these elements for various purposes.
Moon Magick: Moon magicians align their magickal practices with the phases of the moon. They believe that the different phases (new moon, full moon, etc.) have specific energies that can be harnessed for different purposes.
Divination: While not traditional magick in the sense of casting spells, divination practices like tarot, runes, astrology, and scrying are often used for seeking guidance and insight into future events or understanding the present.
Necromancy: This is the practice of communicating with the dead or working with the spirits of the deceased. It can involve mediumship, seances, and rituals aimed at contacting or influencing spirits.
As said before, you are in complete control of your journey to try and practice whatever type of magic, but be respectful of the ones that are religions or traditions like voodoo or hoodoo.
Hoodoo and Rootwork: These are African American folk magick traditions that blend African, Native American, and European influences. They often involve the use of herbs, candles, oils, and other materials for practical magic.
Voodoo and Vodou: These are Afro-Caribbean religions that incorporate magickal practices. They involve working with spirits, ancestor veneration, and ritual practices.
Tumblr media
I added a little more of what I should have added as a priority, but I think this is all for now. In case I find anything new, I will add to it and try to explain as well as I can.
Tumblr media
As always, have a wonderful day or night! I will love to know your thoughts, and I will be here in case you have any questions.

Bhava Karakas - Decoding Astrological House Potential
Tumblr media
Every Astrological House denotes its results from being produced by specific planets. These planets have a different meaning in each house, and houses produced by several planets give a unique result.
I already touched on the subject before, explaining the basic principle of Bhava Karakas by talking about an interplay between Jupiter and Saturn, which produce for most of the houses in the Zodiac wheel, having an essential role in the process of creation and preservation. I also described traditional, astrological influences on cycles of life from childhood to adulthood, which you will see are completely congruent with the traditional bhava karaka layout.
Astrologers dispute the meaning and detailed rules of bhava karakas, my description is what I have seen work in my years of astrology study and involvement in esoteric fields. This Link, although the article is dated, is my personal favorite. Some bhava karakas are self explanatory, some have more complexity between varying planetary influences.
1st House - The Sun
1st house is the Sun, and the Sun inherently has the nature of the 1st house. It is the fact that we are alive in human form, it's the Promethean, fiery breath of first life, that some also associate with Krittika Nakshatra. In the 1st house we simply ARE and nothing else matters, and the Sun is the planet that expresses itself naturally just by the fact of its existence. Sun is also individualistic and independent, because it's so enraptured by its own birth, it's entirely self absorbed. And it is supposed to be, because the 1st house is the only place, that is ultimately about us, and only us. Sun provides us with that level of healthy self-reliance and self-centeredness, as the soul light of the self is eternal, fixed and unchangeable. The essence of the self remains from birth, even if the details of the human avatar grow and change. That essence is given by the Sun.
2nd House - Jupiter
2nd house rules the family provision, and Jupiter is the source of that provision. It's the basic safety we can always count on, that is beneficial to our individual self, that supports our self expression. Here, Jupiter gives us the first breath of external power to not just be contained within the self, but to be able to provide for and spread that self.
3rd House - Mars
Mars gives the 3rd house the courage to self explore. This is where we are first familiar with the concept, that our human vehicle has a trajectory. Mars' gift here is mobility, drive, and energy to utilize our resources, set and reach our destination.
4th House - Moon and Mercury
Moon's gift to the 4th house is adaptability, Mercury's gift is testing, sensing and sampling. The gift of both is sensitivity and emotional exploration, within and without. This is the ultimate learning house, when we finally connect to reality, with all of our senses, our intellect (through Mercury) and sensorium (Moon). Through receptivity, we gain new stimuli constantly through a permanent exchange.
5th House - Jupiter
Many people associate the Sun with the 5th house, and although they are friendly, that is wrong. The Sun produces strictly for the 1st house, because the Sun at its peak is a healthy ego construct, not harming other people but not concerned with them either, as much as it shines among them. The 5th house rules the desire to shine among others, and that desire is presided for by Jupiter, which ruled by the ether element, has the power to spread itself and travel. The Sun is self contained and energetically stoic, as it only travels on its own path. It may not like to participate much in external activities without strict self benefit. Even when it develops deep compassion, it holds its ground, and doesn't care what anyone thinks. It is not interested in any additional creation, because it thinks the self was created and it's already enough. The 5th house is where Jupiter is concerned with fostering younger minds, but also it is the spark of external self expression. Thus, it is interested in others and gathering adulation, and Jupiter here makes the 5th house desire for creativity expand into participation for the sake of spreading of the self, and it wants, and knows how to, make that self exciting for others.
6th house - Mars and Saturn
The most complex, conflicting house from all bhavas, as it is produced by two enemies. Its association with court cases comes from the common theme of the court having to deal with and reconcile opposing parties objectively. Mars here produces an individual, outspoken, unshakeable, unchangeable, personal viewpoint. Saturn's gift is the hard work of ensuring its survivability in the context of the masses. The personal idea here is under maximum scrutiny. Mars provides tenacity, Saturn provides testing.
7th House - Venus
Venus produces death of the individual self and the ego through the other, that occur in the 7th house. Venus produces the desire to merge and be completed by the other, to be able to learn and see in the world what only the external stimulation can bring. Venus produces for the 7th house both the desire and the opportunities for this external appreciation, that only occurs when one makes space for the other through forgetting the ego, even if just for a while.
8th House - Saturn
Saturn's gift to the 8th house is shedding and secrecy during ugliness of transformation. The depth of brutal self reflection is offered here, constantly prodded by external remarks. Saturn allows us to learn here, who we truly are, if everything and everyone fails, if all physical protection is stripped from us. Its path here is directing us to the naked truth of ourselves, but also in context of the raw, psychological complexity of others on an interpersonal level.
9th House - Sun and Jupiter
The 9th house's gift from both Sun Jupiter is finding its niche, its clique. Sun sticks to its guns, Jupiter spreads one's solid individuality, together they find a sympathetic team. One's values, wisdom and opinion here become fully formed in context of self within the collective, as Jupiter here gifts peak enlightenment. Since Jupiter only provides righteous, tested ideas, and Sun gives absolute, resolute self assurance, it naturally attracts people to its well tested ground here. There is a collective security, that Jupiter provides in this house, a free space for discussion that comes from individual certainty, and openness for external ideas and blending them with one's own, which encourages others to come to a place of collective tolerance. Sun's gift here is "live and let live", and Jupiter's gift is "learn and teach from what you lived".
10th House - Sun, Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury
The richest of all houses, as it has to be to provide public order. Sun assures, that everyone here knows themselves and their place, and as a result they find their place within the public. Jupiter ensures, that people grow and find security in being part of the collective. Mercury assures, that people keep learning through broad, public, social exchanges. Saturn gifts durability and reliability to collective ideas, providing an efficient structure.
11th House - Jupiter
The 11th house is where Jupiter has evolved into an idée fixe. The ideas of Jupiter spread the widest here, and the ether becomes a current, that sweeps the masses. This is where we identify with our beliefs, and we either create a wave of energy that envelops others, or participate in already created environments, but only if they fit our ideas. This is where Jupiter becomes the most opinionated, either through endorsing ideas it believes in, if found externally, or creating a new idea and gaining a lot of support for it, because the idea resonates easily with the collective. Jupiter here provides magnetism of individual self expression, that resonates with a sum total of individual beliefs merging into collective urges. A particularly strong dispositor or planet here is so powerful, a person is able to sway the masses and make their mark, even if they are very unique. Jupiter here produces the power to be a worldwide trend-setter.
12th House - Saturn
The 12th house is the most spiritual part of Saturn, as it rules complete surrender and everything ultimately falling into place after a long period of struggle. It is also simultaneously the most perfectionistic of houses, where meticulousness reaches its productive apex. That happens through slow, minimal, gradual but persistent efforts, that Saturn provides. Training is also best done in shadows, which Saturn is responsible for. The height of rational selectiveness is also a gift of Saturn to this house. The 12th house only wants to do what is right, and when it's right and Saturn provides endless patience and stubbornness under pressure, and the gift for understanding, navigating and dealing with the vices of human nature.

ryne as the personification of the first
emet-selch goes on about how the source is the only shard that really matters, that the other shards are dimmer and of less value, that the shards are meant to be sacrificed for the sake of being rejoined to the source, blah blah blah (with the source and its current peoples eventually being de facto sacrificed to bring the ancient world back to an unsundered state) (all of this to foil hydaelyn, whose major aetherial aspect is light)
ryne is one in a century-long line of little girls who were valued only for their ability to channel the source's minfilia, being subsumed by her soul and then dying horribly in a neverending war against the light. minfilia explicitly compares herself to an ascian when explaining the situation to thancred (one of the most underrated bonkers lines in shb, imo)! the sacrifice of one person's individuality is worth the contribution to the larger crusade... but also because those with more power in the situation want the person THEY loved to return to them (see also: gaia).
but despite being told she's weak and would be better off giving in to her fate (either directly by ran'jit, or indirectly via neglect by thancred's bad parenting), ryne values the free, colorful, unique life she has lived and the love she has created with the people around her. even though all of it is difficult! even if it hurts! even if she has to struggle against sin eaters, even if she is pursued by an entire nation-state, even if her guardian hadn't gotten to the end of his character arc yet! it sucks, but she isn't going to go gently into that good light, even if it would be the more "practical" and "effective" path to take (see: the ancients summoning zodiark). she struggles forward, because she wants to keep living and keep struggling and keep growing. she started out never knowing a room beyond her cell, barely knowing anything except that she was doomed. but she worked and she learned and she struggled and in the end she chose to survive. ryne chooses to fight for her own right to live.
the first already had their apocalypse. 90% of the entire planet was destroyed. they are confined by giant walls of light. light is the aspect of stagnancy. eulmore has given up - to quote gaia, the past and future don't matter, it's only the present. giant monsters ravage the countryside! you have to watch your loved ones mutate into those monsters before your eyes, and often have to put them down yourself! the old world and its nation-states have been wiped away, leaving often fragmented and murky histories behind. the ecology got all fucked up, and i can't imagine the world being euled by stagnation is great for the birthrate. it's bleak as hell! but people keep living and adapting. we arrive on a first that has created new cultures and communities. it is not by clinging to the past and trying to restore the kingdoms of voeburt and nabaath araeng that the first survived: the first survived because it journeyed on into the future. "where one world ends does a new begin", etc
the exarch brought the scions to the first for a reason. only by saving the first can we save the source. but that isn't the only reason we fight to help the first, and honestly not even the primary reason: we help the first because we meet the people there and we care about them (see: the 5.3 dungeon, with all the npcs we met coming to help us). we help ryne not because we want access to her powers: we help her because she is a vulnerable child who needs our help. if ryne did not choose to live, if she chose to die to give us access to full oracle powers, shadowbringers would have veered into a gutting pyrrhic victory rather than the bittersweet one that it already is. ryne is the future. live for the future, even if it doesn't seem as "good" as what you idealize the past as, and struggle onward.
thancred gets to live past his fight with ran'jit because he has to welcome ryne back and tell her he loves her and that he's glad she's herself. that's his character arc. that's the narrative. he defeats the poison of nostalgia, he and ryne both live and get the chance to improve their relationship, and they work together to defeat the ultimate nostalgia-driven, grief-ruled monster, emet-selch.
(side note: fascism as an ideology is hugely driven by the belief that society should "return" to its "purest" "best" form. emet-selch invented fascism in garlemald. he uses a lot of fascist rhetoric to justify his actions. ffxiv's insistence that you must move past nostalgia and move on into the future goes hand in hand with its antifascist themes)
and in the end, ryne has to stay on the first while her family has to leave her. it's a bittersweet end to her coming of age story, but she uses the tools giving to her by her predecessors and loved ones to fight for her and her loved ones' futures (see: end of eden). it will be hard for her moving forward, but she has already conquered the excruciatingly struggle of choosing to want to live when it seemed like the whole world was telling her she's better off doomed. it'll be sad, and it'll be hard, but she'll be okay.

chiron trine midheaven
Tumblr media
– chiron represents “the wound healer" . It represents our core wounds, how we can overcome them, and wounds we can help other people with even though we have trouble resolving these wounds for ourselves.
– trine relates to flow, with planets in a harmonious angle of support and luck.
– midheaven (mc) represents our approach to achievement, how we master ourselves, our life path, reputation, public image, status, recognition, long-term goals, fame, ambitions, power in society etc.
– in a sense, your pain in publicized and sometimes you can be seen as a victim who took their power back.
– naturally makes you a sensitive, self-aware, and healing person.
– your pain or trauma could be used to teach society or the public a lesson that is either healing or karmic, or you could expose society to its deepest wounds.
– because of the karmic nature of capricorn, this could show that the person(s) who brought you this pain could be exposed as a result and/or be negatively affected. could symbolize big payback through your success depending on where chiron and the midheaven are placed.
– you are able to adapt to almost anything your industry throws at you, a true maverick.
– you have the best advice and always seem to know how to help, even if it is something that others don’t want to hear.
– you are a natural problem-solver.
– you can be very relatable to society through your sensitivity, strength, or trauma.
– you often take back the power and overcome or at least deal with whatever trauma has propelled you into the spotlight. because, in actuality this power was always yours.
– people will begin to see you as a strong leader/figure.
– pain, crises, some traumatic experiences = benefical opportunities aka a point to your pain.
– people feel comfortable coming to you with their trauma and can open up to you easily about it without much on your part. they could also be extremely comfortable with coming to you about all type of advice (depending on the sign and house)
– however, be careful of not taking on the trauma and problems of others so much that it affects your inner life. it can easily slip in because of your willingness to help.
– naturally, you feel the most satisfied when you can help someone to overcome their trauma or be more open. so, whatever industry that you choose, you bring a healing nature to it.
– i could see you being a therapist, counselor, nurse, doctor, psychologist, maybe even teacher or life coach.
– you have humility in your ambition with an intense desire to succeed.
– your trauma that you experienced can help to strengthen your career. the more you learn about this pain and understand it, the wiser you become and the more knowledge you can spread. you will not remain the victim forever.
– even though this trauma can follow you through your career, you learn how to use it to your own advantage to excel in your career tremendously and find new opportunities through it.
– your own unique experience brings a certain quality that makes even masters of your field magnetized from your inspirational energy. your a naturally different and that draws attention to you.
– because you are constantly learning yourself, you evolve with your field. this can lead to many of your success because you are always learning how to be the best or better in your career path/the public eye.
– you could become a role model for marginalized people like you or with similar problems to you, a symbol of hope, you make “weird” people like yourself feel normal again because they have someone to relate to, a voice for the people.
– could be the face of a movement or change in your industry or in society.
– very influential for your community and you could help others in your field climb the ranks or create spaces for them.
– your unorthodox nature becomes your trademark. you become more well-known for the traits that make you stand apart from others than for the traits that got you where you are. your legacy is rooted in what you have gone through.
– you could often hurt yourself or parts of yourself for success or to change your industry so that others do not have to go through the same pain that you have experienced to get there.
– could show that you push yourself beyond healthy limits to achieve fame, status or recognition, so set strong boundaries and take care of all aspects of yourself. don't get caught up with trying to save everyone because it is natural. take care of your inner self as well. it can be draining
– you could try to put your all into your career if you don’t acknowledge past traumas which can cause you to feel lost often, or like you’re not fulfilling your purpose.
– but, remember that the trine also brings laziness if taken for granted. so, never stop learning or teaching others the power of pain or humility. never forget where you came from because it has built who you are.
much love E ♡

Energy 101
Energy exists everywhere, all around and inside us. That holds true both spiritually and scientifically as everything consists of matter. Matter is energy, and we are energy sources. When we talk about energy in witchcraft, we usually speak about magic energy. Magic is one of the energies we as people emit and can manipulate. It is our conduit for outside energies. We use it to access what we cant give off. Magic is incredibly versatile that when you're advanced enough, it can pass off as external energy without much trouble. Magic, including other energies in, on, and around us, make up our energetic field and how it forms makes up our energy signature. Think of the signature as an actual signature on paper and the field is what the ink and paper are made out of. Every person's energy signature is unique, slowly cultivated from birth to their current breath. No two will be the same though some could appear to be to an untrained eye. Becoming familiar with internal and external energies can help you progress on any part of your path.
Categorization
External energy sources are any that you are not. Most frequent are celestial bodies, celestial events, flora, fauna, divinity, death, colors, elemental, etc. The properties of each can be cultural or personal. Learning to categorize energy types and their properties in a way you understand is essential for successful results in spirituality. It's good practice to create and familiarize yourself with umbrella terms for niche subsets. Using the states of matter has proven practical for broader descriptions; solid, liquid, gas, and plasma, similar to the four elements. Often times you will need to combine energies to get your desired effect.
At first thought, solid energy is comparable with the sturdiness of the earth, but solids are more about physicality and less durability.
Liquid energy is more than just water; it's versatility and adaptability. Poisons and venoms from flora and fauna count as liquid energy too.
Gas energy is the closest to its elemental counterpart, air. It's stealth and the intangible.
Plasma is the most volatile of all the stages. Chaotic and powerful are just two words that describe this energy type.
Fields and Signatures
An energetic field consists of layers in which the amount will vary from person to person. The layers are often seen as either colors or objects. To read someone's energy signature, you first have to dissect their energetic field. In my experience, age can sometimes influence the number of layers someone has. Usually, the innermost layer is the first made at birth, a sign of new life, and gives the person their first guiding energy. Layers get added, changed, and removed as you experience life. Workings can be added as layers to give boosts or protection. Layers can hold trauma, desires, memories, and more; they're an autobiography. Your field can also become damaged by yourself or an external force; try to do routine checkups on yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually to prevent this.
Useful Skills
Beneficial energy skills inside and outside of spirituality are centering and grounding. Both are recognized to help with anxiety and other disorders. You center when you feel scattered and all over. Useful for when you want to call your energy back. You ground when you feel elevated. Great for after divination or astral projection to bring you back down. Grounding can also prove practical when you desire to release excess energy.

Jusant
Tumblr media
Climb every mountain
Acrophobics beware, our ascent begins. Armed simply with a rope and three pitons, our character, accompanied by a small water creature, sets off to climb a giant, mysterious tower, where the remains of the past are still visible. But once on its roof, is the view up there up to par?
❤ More than just a climbing game, Jusant is clearly a game of contemplation, as the panoramas are always magnificent and I've often stopped just to enjoy the view.
Tumblr media
The tower is made up of different biomes, each with its own unique and varied atmosphere. The ruins you find are full of details of life in the past, so it's easy to imagine what this ancient civilisation was like. It's often tempting to explore the surroundings further, even if it means deviating a little from the original path. ❤ Although this Human city is now abandoned, the tower is nonetheless teeming with life, with its distinctive flora and fauna.
Tumblr media
I really appreciated their diversity, but also the harmonious way in which they fit into the universe; insects in the form of moving stones can be good grips but will tire under the weight of the character, certain plants can be made to bud but will wither very quickly under the burning rays of the sun, life becomes less and less habitable as you climb because of the lack of water and the violent winds etc… This aspect of the universe makes it very immersive and easy to grasp. ❤ The climbing mechanism is very easy to pick up and intuitive (at least on the controller). Some might criticize the lack of challenge, given that you can't die (the game is meant to be relaxing, after all), but I found that the stamina bar was enough to add a bit of management and reflection to the whole thing. What's more, while the game is very linear, I found that it allowed each player a fair amount of freedom to create their own route. You can go on a breakneck run and climb a passage in one go, or you can play it safe and place pitons from time to time. This can lead to quite different parties from that point of view. The gameplay could be perceived as repetitive, but as the landscapes evolve, you'll also have to adapt to each new environment. As a result, the paths become a little more complex as you go along, without feeling redundant. The game also offers good replayability if you intend to find all the hidden corners and collectibles.
+/- The music is very beautiful and there are some very soothing sound design moments…but I found that there were a lot of rather empty passages where only the sound of the wind could be heard. Given the amount of life abounding on this large rock, I was expecting more sound ambiance. Only the seashells, the game's collectible elements, really transported me in this respect. +/- This is clearly going to be the most subjective point of all but, in my opinion, the universe is too cryptic, or rather, it has too many details that don't quite fit together. Let me explain. Throughout the journey, you can come across messages left by the former inhabitants, allowing the player to learn more about how they lived in this tower, their occupations and the beliefs they held. On the other hand, we also have engravings and technologies that are activated by our little pet creature (just like our tattoos) but at no point are these elements mentioned in the found texts, and they hardly seem to correspond to the same era. As a result, I'm left with a very strange mix of lore and I'm struggling to fully immerse myself in it, not because I don't understand how it works, but rather because I can't conceive of these two elements going together. And the ending didn't help either, becoming very mystical compared to the more down-to-earth side of the ancient writings. In short, a strange mix that left me dubious.
✖ My journey up the mountain was exacerbated several times by numerous glitches: the camera suddenly became uncontrollable, the character found himself levitating above the stairs, and my rope became entangled far too often with elements of the scenery…. enough to easily break the serenity that the game aims to offer. ✖ The tutorial is rather intrusive, with the explanatory text recurring too frequently as if to give us clues as to how to proceed. While this was a way of making the game accessible to a wider audience, it breaks the immersion and doesn't allow the player to simply observe and reflect. ✖ While I was quite taken with the visual spectacle, I didn't feel much during the whole trip. First of all, I think that's down to the main character, who I found…flat? We don't know who they are, what their objectives are, and their expressions are very neutral, so it's hard to know how they feel about events. Their friendship with the little water creature is cute, but there's no more connection between them in the game than little optional interactions. And as for the finale, it's déjà-vu for me, I was once again left unmoved.
Jusant is a catchy game in both senses of the word. The climbing gameplay is enjoyable and the world, while perhaps too obscure, is rich and intriguing overall. Despite the altitude, however, it didn't transcend me, because for me it lacks emotional intensity, and beauty alone isn't enough to reach the summit.

Want 2024 to Be Your Most Awesome Year Ever? Shift Your Mindset First
Tumblr media
In the pursuit of making 2024 your most incredible year, there's a crucial element that often gets overlooked, your mindset. The way you perceive the world and approach challenges can have a profound impact on your success and happiness. In this article, we'll explore the importance of shifting your mindset and provide practical tips to help you achieve your dreams in 2024.
As we step into a new year, it's natural to have aspirations and dreams. We all want 2024 to be a year filled with success, happiness, and personal growth. However, achieving these goals requires more than just wishful thinking. It starts with a fundamental shift in your mindset.
Understanding the Power of Mindset
What is Mindset?
Your mindset is the collection of beliefs, attitudes, and thoughts that shape your perception of the world. It's the lens through which you view challenges, opportunities, and your own capabilities.
The Fixed vs. Growth Mindset
There are two primary types of mindsets: fixed and growth. Those with a fixed mindset believe that their abilities and intelligence are static, leading to a fear of failure. In contrast, individuals with a growth mindset embrace challenges, view failures as opportunities to learn, and believe in their capacity for growth.
The Impact of Mindset on Success
Mindset and Goal Setting
Your mindset significantly influences how you approach and achieve your goals. A positive and determined mindset can lead to setting ambitious goals, taking persistent action, and overcoming challenges, while a negative mindset may result in self-doubt and a reluctance to aim high. In essence, your mindset shapes your attitude and behavior towards goal setting, ultimately impacting your success in achieving those goals.
Mindset and Resilience
Your mindset plays a crucial role in your resilience. A growth-oriented mindset encourages adaptability, learning from setbacks, and the ability to bounce back from challenges. In contrast, a fixed mindset may hinder resilience by seeing obstacles as insurmountable. Your mindset profoundly affects how you navigate and bounce back from life's ups and downs.
Steps to Transform Your Mindset
Transforming your mindset involves several essential steps:
Identify Limiting Beliefs: Recognize and challenge the beliefs that hold you back. Question negative thoughts and replace them with more empowering ones.
Practice Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding. Avoid self-criticism and develop a nurturing inner dialogue.
Set Realistic Goals: Define achievable, meaningful goals that align with your aspirations. Break them down into smaller, manageable steps.
Embrace Failure as a Learning Opportunity: View setbacks as valuable lessons rather than as a reflection of your abilities. Learn from your mistakes and use them as stepping stones to success.

A Useful Guide to Overcoming Fear, Uncertainty, and Feelings of Unworthiness
Key Point:
You are not a victim. What happens in your life is the result of your own attitude toward it and how you treat yourself and your body. If you want to change your life, start changing your attitude. By making simple alterations to how you respond to situations and your emotions, you’ll find you can achieve anything you want.
Fear, uncertainty, and feelings of unworthiness can hold us back from reaching our full potential and achieving our goals. However, with the right strategies and mindset, it is possible to overcome these obstacles and unlock our true capabilities. In this guide, we will explore practical techniques to help you overcome fear, manage uncertainty, and cultivate self-worth. By embracing failure as a learning opportunity, controlling your brain and emotions, utilizing the modeling process, leveraging eye movement, improving communication, adjusting body language, and aligning body and mind, you can navigate through these challenges and create a path to personal growth and success.
There is no such thing as failure, as each step you take offers you an opportunity to learn and grow.
One of the first steps to overcoming fear and feelings of unworthiness is to redefine failure. Instead of viewing it as a negative outcome, see it as an opportunity for growth and learning. Each step you take, regardless of the outcome, provides valuable lessons and insights that contribute to your personal development. Embrace failure as a natural part of the journey and use it as a stepping stone towards success.
You can control your brain and change the way you process your emotions to overcome depression.
Managing emotions, particularly when dealing with uncertainty and unworthiness, is crucial for maintaining mental well-being. Through practices such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques, you can gain control over your thoughts and emotions. Challenge negative self-talk, reframe your perspectives, and cultivate a positive mindset. By actively working to change the way you process your emotions, you can overcome depression and move towards a more empowered and fulfilling life.
You can achieve anything through the five-step process of modeling.
Modeling, a powerful technique used by successful individuals, involves studying and emulating the strategies and behaviors of those who have achieved what you aspire to. Break down their success into a five-step process: observe, understand, adapt, practice, and refine. Observe successful individuals in your field, understand the underlying principles of their success, adapt their strategies to suit your own circumstances, practice consistently, and refine your approach based on feedback and results. Through modeling, you can accelerate your progress and overcome self-doubt.
Use eye movement to activate your brain for improved memory and creativity.
Eye movement can be a powerful tool for enhancing cognitive function. Research suggests that specific eye movements can activate different parts of the brain, improving memory retention and stimulating creativity. Experiment with techniques such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) or eye exercises designed to activate neural pathways. By incorporating eye movement exercises into your daily routine, you can boost your cognitive abilities and overcome mental blocks.
By finding the right method of communication, you can make sure your partner receives your love.
Effective communication is essential for nurturing healthy relationships and overcoming feelings of unworthiness in interpersonal connections. Recognize that different individuals have unique communication preferences and styles. By understanding your partner's communication preferences and finding the right method of expression, you can ensure that your love and appreciation are effectively conveyed. This can strengthen your relationship, enhance feelings of connection, and reduce uncertainties.
You can change your body language to fight depression and boost energy.
Body language plays a significant role in how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us. By consciously adjusting your body language, you can positively impact your mood, confidence, and energy levels. Adopt confident postures, maintain an open and relaxed stance, and practice power poses. These simple adjustments can boost your self-esteem, reduce feelings of unworthiness, and fight off depression.
The power of conviction comes when you align your body and mind with a confident plan of action
When you align your body and mind with a confident plan of action, you tap into the power of conviction. Define your goals, create a clear action plan, and visualize yourself succeeding. Embody the feelings of confidence, determination, and belief as you take steps towards your goals. By aligning your body language, thoughts, and actions, you cultivate a sense of unwavering conviction that propels you forward, helping you overcome fear and achieve your desired outcomes.
Overcoming fear, uncertainty, and feelings of unworthiness requires a combination of self-reflection, mindset shifts, and practical techniques. Embrace failure as a learning opportunity, control your brain and emotions, utilize the modeling process, leverage eye movement, improve communication, adjust body language, and align body and mind. By implementing these strategies, you can break free from self-limiting beliefs, navigate through challenges with confidence, and create a path towards personal growth, fulfillment, and success. Remember, this journey is unique to each individual, so be patient, persistent, and compassionate towards yourself as you work towards overcoming these obstacles and unleashing your true potential.
Action Plan: Breathe deeply to gain energy
If you ever feel that you don’t have the energy to achieve a given goal, deep breathing will help. Effective breathing has also been shown to activate your immune system and can even prevent the growth of cancerous cells.

Tumblr media
These days, I often find myself immersed in nostalgic reflection upon my upbringing. From my childhood to my experiences in primary and high school, I contemplate the unique circumstances that shaped me into the person I am today.
Perhaps it's because I was an only child, or maybe it's the serendipitous result of being raised by my father, Pastor Joseph. Whatever the reason, I can't help but marvel at the tapestry of my past.
My journey from innocence to adulthood has been a shade of beautiful moments and life lessons. I am filled with gratitude for each and every experience, as they have provided me with a solid foundation that fortifies me against the relentless pressures of adulthood. The innocence, happiness, positivity, and trust I possessed during those formative years are treasures I hold dear.
But how did I arrive at this point of introspection? Well, recently, I have been experiencing things that brought about vivid flashbacks from the past. Upon reflection, I've come to realize the immense value of a lesson taught to me by my father, a lesson that my young, naive mind once interpreted as punishment or torment. Allow me to unveil the secret that has had a profound impact on my life: the art of contentment.
Contentment is a concept I was introduced to at a tender age, and its influence has never waned. I vividly recall instances when my father deliberately withheld something I yearned for or desperately needed. One incident remains etched in my memory: he purposefully kept my school fees from me, resulting in my humiliating dismissal from boarding school. His intention was for me to not only observe but truly comprehend the weight of that predicament. Furthermore, there were countless occasions when he sternly said "no" to my requests, pushing me to navigate challenging situations on my own. These early lessons in contentment have proven invaluable. They have taught me to embrace both abundance and scarcity, equipping me with resilience and adaptability.
Of course, there were other aspects of life that I had to learn to manage on my own as an adult. Pain, rejection, the dangers of trust and giving up too easily, and the management of anxiety were all challenges that awaited me in the vast expanse of adulthood. Nonetheless, I am grateful that my foundation in contentment allows me to confront these obstacles with relative ease. In comparison, the detrimental effects of discontentment and insatiable greed are far more perilous, capable of plunging one's life into chaos.
Life is not a perpetual bed of roses; it is a complex tapestry of experiences. When you have the means, it is crucial to learn to live within them, embracing a mindset of resourcefulness and adaptability. And when you find yourself lacking the means, it becomes essential to forge new paths and create valuable opportunities for yourself. Throughout this journey, it is important to seek assistance when needed but exercise discernment. Beware of accepting conditional help or becoming reliant on surrogate support systems, as they can deplete your inner strength and leave you questioning your true worth. That is a place of vulnerability and unhappiness that no one should endure.
Embracing contentment invites us to cherish what we have while pursuing personal growth and fulfillment. It is a path that leads to lasting happiness and a balanced existence. So, let us embark on this transformative journey, where the appreciation of life's blessings and the pursuit of self-improvement intertwine to create a tapestry of fulfillment and contentment.

13, 14, 15, 26, 29 from the recent ask meme?
(13) Do you believe in reincarnation?
For the most part, I'd say yeah. I think it's very plausible, but I also think it's probably not *quite* what we think it is, if that makes any sense. That's basically my stance on all spiritual and religious beliefs -- there's probably truth to it, but we've probably got a few things wrong.
(14) Would you want to be reincarnated?
Mm... maybe. I lean more towards 'no,' but we don't always get what we want.
(15) Do you think you're special, or just another person among billions? Can you be both?
I think I'm a special kind of pain-in-the-ass.
Bad jokes aside, I think everyone's fairly unique or special in their own way and has potential for something, but few are able to really act on it. So I guess I think we can be both. Some are certainly more charismatic or influential than others, but I don't think any one human is inherently more special or valuable than the other.
(26) What's the most life-changing choice you've made so far?
In middle school we were studying ancient Greece and I decided to write a paper on Achilles (but you'll see me refer to him as 'Akhilleus' on my blog if I ever talk about him, for personal reasons).
Spoiler: I didn't stop researching after I finished my project and it led me down a whoooooooole different path in life.
(29) Do you believe in some form of god/s?
I do, but my beliefs are hard to explain with words and kinda... complicated, I guess?
I definitely believe in some forms of gods, but my belief is that the true nature of divinity is very much beyond human comprehension, and that gods have a symbiotic relationship to humans the same way different animals in the ecosystem do.
Like... I don't believe gods necessarily created the world, or that humans invented gods. I think gods exist in some form we cannot understand, and that much like humans and other animals, they adapt and change over time.
I don't believe ANY religion has all of the answers or even most of the answers, and I think it's absolutely bonkers how wild people will get about their arguments over gods and religion.
I think there's just a lot of things humans will never, ever fully understand, and the challenge of that is what makes it all so very fascinating to me. I'm a lot like Kimmuriel in this regard, I suppose: somewhere out there, there is a hard limit as to what I am capable of knowing, but that does not deter me in the slightest as I will keep trying to learn anyway.
