Accelerating Cloud Development: How AWS DevOps is Revolutionizing Software Delivery in 2024
In 2024, businesses are operating in an era where software delivery needs to be faster, more reliable, and more scalable than ever before. The rise of cloud computing has been central to this transformation, and AWS (Amazon Web Services) DevOps has become a key enabler of these advancements. By combining the power of cloud infrastructure with the agility of DevOps practices, AWS DevOps is revolutionizing how organizations develop, deploy, and manage applications.
What is AWS DevOps?
AWS DevOps refers to the combination of AWS’s cloud computing services and DevOps practices to facilitate faster, more efficient software development and deployment. DevOps is a set of practices that automates and integrates the processes between software development and IT operations teams, enabling them to build, test, and release software more quickly and reliably.
AWS offers a wide range of tools and services that support DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), monitoring, and logging. AWS DevOps helps businesses of all sizes adopt cloud-native technologies and streamline their software development lifecycle (SDLC) to meet the demands of the modern digital landscape.
How AWS DevOps is Revolutionizing Software Delivery in 2024
Accelerating Time-to-Market
In today’s competitive landscape, the ability to deliver new features and updates quickly is crucial for business success. AWS DevOps automates various stages of the SDLC, from code development to deployment, reducing the time it takes to release new software. With AWS services like CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, and CodeBuild, development teams can automate their CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that code is automatically tested and deployed as soon as it’s ready. This eliminates manual steps and accelerates time-to-market, allowing businesses to respond to market demands faster.
Scalability and Flexibility
AWS’s cloud infrastructure provides unparalleled scalability, allowing businesses to scale their applications up or down based on demand. When combined with DevOps practices, AWS enables organizations to dynamically adjust resources, optimize performance, and minimize costs. For example, AWS Elastic Beanstalk automatically handles the deployment, load balancing, scaling, and monitoring of applications, freeing development teams to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure management. This scalability makes AWS DevOps a powerful tool for both startups and large enterprises.
Enhanced Security and Compliance
Security is a top priority in cloud development, and AWS DevOps helps organizations integrate security into every stage of the SDLC. AWS provides a suite of security tools, such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Shield, and AWS Key Management Service (KMS), which enable teams to enforce security best practices and meet compliance requirements. By incorporating DevSecOps principles, AWS DevOps ensures that security checks are automated and embedded into the CI/CD pipeline, helping organizations identify vulnerabilities early and prevent security breaches.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a core principle of DevOps, and AWS DevOps takes IaC to the next level with services like AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit). IaC allows developers to define, provision, and manage infrastructure using code, ensuring consistency and reducing human error. With AWS CloudFormation, teams can create and deploy cloud resources using templates, while AWS CDK provides a higher-level abstraction for defining infrastructure in familiar programming languages. This approach allows for automated, repeatable infrastructure deployments, leading to more reliable and efficient operations.
Monitoring and Logging
Monitoring and logging are essential for maintaining the health and performance of applications in the cloud. AWS DevOps offers powerful monitoring tools, such as Amazon CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray, which provide real-time insights into application performance, resource utilization, and system health. These tools enable teams to detect and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless user experience. Automated alerts and dashboards help operations teams stay on top of system performance, while logging services like AWS CloudTrail provide detailed audit logs for security and compliance purposes.
Cost Optimization
Cost efficiency is a critical factor in cloud development, and AWS DevOps enables organizations to optimize their cloud spending. By automating resource provisioning and scaling, AWS DevOps helps businesses ensure that they are only using the resources they need, reducing waste and lowering operational costs. Tools like AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Trusted Advisor provide insights into resource utilization and offer recommendations for optimizing costs. Additionally, the pay-as-you-go pricing model of AWS allows businesses to align their expenses with their actual usage, further enhancing cost efficiency.
Collaborative Development Environment
AWS DevOps fosters a collaborative environment between development and operations teams, breaking down silos and enabling continuous collaboration throughout the SDLC. With services like AWS CodeCommit and AWS CodeStar, teams can work together on code repositories, manage projects, and track progress in real-time. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone is aligned, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall productivity. By integrating with popular DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Slack, AWS DevOps creates a seamless development workflow that encourages communication and collaboration.
Real-World Applications of AWS DevOps
AWS DevOps is being adopted by organizations across various industries to drive digital transformation. For example:
E-commerce platforms are using AWS DevOps to continuously deliver new features and updates, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.
Healthcare providers are leveraging AWS DevOps to manage sensitive patient data securely while delivering high-performance telemedicine applications.
Financial services companies are using AWS DevOps to build scalable, secure, and compliant applications that meet regulatory requirements.
These real-world applications highlight the versatility and power of AWS DevOps in driving innovation and operational excellence.

To anyone concerned about KOSA and the state of the web
My wife, @utopicwork, is working hard on a "next internet" with the primary goal of being a place where marginalized people can safely and privately communicate without being restricted by the whims of advertising algorithms and malicious bills.
This would be a decentralized peer-to-peer network, which means
A) it won't be easily shut down
B) it's built around the best aspect of tumblr: being able to choose who you do and don't connect to
She is a highly qualified computer scientist with years of experience in cybersecurity, web development and network technology. However, she can't do this alone. A trans woman is fighting hard for the future of free communication so please support her.

"In China, a landscape architect is reimagining cities across the vast country by working with nature to combat flooding through the ‘sponge city’ concept.
Through his architecture firm Turenscape, Yu has created hundreds of projects in dozens of cities using native plants, dirt, and clever planning to absorb excess rainwater and channel it away from densely populated areas.
Flooding, especially in the two Chinese heartlands of the commercial south and the agricultural north, is becoming increasingly common, but Yu says that concrete and pipe solutions can only go so far. They’re inflexible, expensive, and require constant maintenance. According to a 2021 World Bank report, 641 of China’s 654 largest cities face regular flooding.
“There’s a misconception that if we can build a flood wall higher and higher, or if we build the dams higher and stronger, we can protect a city from flooding,” Yu told CNN in a video call. “(We think) we can control the water… that is a mistake.”
Tumblr media
Pictured: The Benjakitti Forest Park in Bangkok
Yu has been called the “Chinese Olmstead” referring to Frederick Law Olmstead, the designer of NYC’s Central Park. He grew up in a little farming village of 500 people in Zhejiang Province, where 36 weirs channel the waters of a creek across terraced rice paddies.
Once a year, carp would migrate upstream and Yu always looked forward to seeing them leap over the weirs.
This synthesis of man and nature is something that Turenscape projects encapsulate. These include The Nanchang Fish Tail Park, in China’s Jiangxi province, Red Ribbon Park in Qinghuandao, Hebei province, the Sanya Mangrove Park in China’s island province of Hainan, and almost a thousand others. In all cases, Yu utilizes native plants that don’t need any care to develop extremely spongey ground that absorbs excess rainfall.
Tumblr media
Pictured: The Dong’an Wetland Park, another Turescape project in Sanya.
He often builds sponge projects on top of polluted or abandoned areas, giving his work an aspect of reclamation. The Nanchang Fish Tail Park for example was built across a 124-acre polluted former fish farm and coal ash dump site. Small islands with dawn redwoods and two types of cypress attract local wildlife to the metropolis of 6 million people.
Sanya Mangrove Park was built over an old concrete sea wall, a barren fish farm, and a nearby brownfield site to create a ‘living’ sea wall.
One hectare (2.47 acres) of Turenscape sponge land can naturally clean 800 tons of polluted water to the point that it is safe enough to swim in, and as a result, many of the sponge projects have become extremely popular with locals.
One of the reasons Yu likes these ideas over grand infrastructure projects is that they are flexible and can be deployed as needed to specific areas, creating a web of rain sponges. If a large drainage, dam, seawall, or canal is built in the wrong place, it represents a huge waste of time and money.
Tumblr media
Pictured: A walkway leads visitors through the Nanchang Fish Tail Park.
The sponge city projects in Wuhan created by Turenscape and others cost in total around half a billion dollars less than proposed concrete ideas. Now there are over 300 sponge projects in Wuhan, including urban gardens, parks, and green spaces, all of which divert water into artificial lakes and ponds or capture it in soil which is then released more slowly into the sewer system.
Last year, The Cultural Landscape Foundation awarded Yu the $100,000 Oberlander Prize for elevating the role of design in the process of creating nature-based solutions for the public’s enjoyment and benefit."

On the topic of oviposition, have you considered: a drider who needs to find a safe, warm place to lay their eggs
How could I have missed Driders?????
Forgive me if the first bit isn't a typical oviposition theme but it popped in my head and now I need to vent it!
But a Drider female who needs to lay her eggs in a safe place, but she cannot find a secluded area to her liking.
You offer to harbor her eggs for her. Since you're around her den a lot and don't go far, you could keep her eggs close. And your warm body would be a great asset to the eggs growth and development.
Plus, she wouldn't have to lay the delicate sack against the hard stone walls. Or worry her webbing would fail if she's away for too long.
She's unsure at first. Not because she doesn't trust you but because she has never placed her eggs on a living organism before.
But after some discussion, she agrees and it's a rather messy endeavor. Lots of webbing and thick, bulbous sacks that rest against your chest and stomach as you lay on your back. Allowing her to lay her eggs against your skin.
There's something intimate about this situation. You rub your hands along her lower abdomen, soothing her and massaging her as she carefully places each sack against you.
Once her eggs are laid, she delicately wraps web and silk around you. Securing the sacks to your body.
She assures you that her brood won't eat you when they hatch. She promises to remove them when the incubation period gets close.
She's worried her brood might be too heavy for you. But you shoo her worries away gently as you wobble around with the new weight.
Your back would definitely start aching after a few days, but the eggs are safe and your Drider partner is absolutely thrilled about this new prospect of egg-laying.
A little NSFW version below with a Male Drider:
Your Drider lover needs to breed. A different sort of breeding than your usual intimate activities, you found out.
He's sweet when he explains about the ache in his arachnid abdomen and the build up of eggs he needs to deposit. And speaking about such a topic starts to rile him up.
He grows incredibly needy.
You agree to bear his eggs. And he lays you on a bed of silk, mounting you differently than he usually does.
Instead of his humanoid cock from the front of the body, be begins to grind a pointed tip against your center from the end of his spider half.
It's hard at first. But with more friction and the encouraging warmth from your body, his second length begins to slide from its hardened sheath.
You've never seen this part of him before. It's thick and flexible, but finds your waiting core easily. Your head rolls back as your penetrated in one smooth stroke. And your lover hisses above you. His many legs twitching as a blinding pleasure overtakes him.
You feel a cool substance slide between your legs from him and very quickly, your body falls into a relaxed state. The bliss and pleasure remains as your partner fucks slowly into you. Thrusting until you feel him so deep inside you it feels like he's pressing against your womb.
You watch as his abdomen swells and tightens, then something round begins to slide down the length that connected the two of you.
Your mouth falls open as your walls are stretched and the burn of the intrusion is soothed by whatever aphrodisiac like secretion pours from his cock.
The egg sack settles heavily in your core and you groan as a second follows.
Your Drider lover purrs sweet words to you as you open your legs more for him. Welcoming his eggs as he continues to pound into you. A loving, but brutal, rhythm so his eggs are left as deep within you as you can take.
Your Drider lover only stops when he feels you can take no more. And he slides out of you slowly. Kissing his way down your body until his fangs trace over your inner thighs.
When his tongue licks over your core, you feel his eggs roll inside you as you squirm under the harsh stimulation.
"You look so beautiful swollen with my brood, my love." He says. Pressing more kisses along your rounded abdomen.

Placements For Romantic Archetypes Pt.1: Accidental Playboy (18+ Only)
*Adults only! Minors dni
*just based on my experiences, only takes what resonates
Tumblr media
Someone whose usually monogamous that has dated/hooked up with a lot of their friends and stays friends with their exes. They just have a lot of attachments and a lot of love to give ! This may be a phase for most of them (if they’re developed) and they tend to settle down with one person whenever they find their twin flame.
***
-Cancer Venus: just a lot of affection for the people they hang out with, if you’re in their circle they can feel a lot for you and depending on their other placements this can turn into hooking up with their friends. They also don’t really let go of relationships, this placement is most likely to stay friends with their exes as well imo. They also tend to do anything to make their friends/significant others happy which is very sweet …but can lead to some awkwardness on occasion. (Like I knew someone that had a ex turned friend and she would like show him her lewds before she sent them to guys she was asking out and he was like yeah we’re just friends! He stopped that in a relationship, but then she said that they would’ve ended up together when she broke up with someone she was seeing and he was like oblivious and just said haha no, that was only the tip of the iceberg, I was like dude get a boundary.)
-Venus in 11th: A tendency to only get intimately involved with people after they’ve become good friends anyway. Also a tendency to hold onto all their friendships if they can. Can create a like web of attachments, of friends and old flames.
-Cancer Mars & Earth/Air Moon: Needing to be emotionally drawn to someone in order to find them s*xy and hookup… but also this like detachment underneath that. Like a deep amount of emotional investment and fixation but also like being pretty emotionally removed behind it all. So a tendency to pursue like friendships with objects of desire but not too much behind that (not that there’s anything wrong with that, it can just quickly turn into a string of affairs)
-Virgo Mars: This placement usually acts in their relationships through acts of service to express their commitment and affection. Due to Virgo being mutable, I’ve found that they’ll often have a more flexible approach to how they handle their relationships. Like I’ve just seen a lot of Virgo mars natives that would perform acts of service for current and ex partners because of how helpful they want to be to everyone. (Not necessarily a bad thing but a little messy if you’re in a relationship and doing favors for your exes). Lots of checking up in on people and trying to help manage them that can turn into them hooking up in order to be “helpful” (especially after they’re emotionally involved)
-Sagittarius Venus/Mars: just a placement with a lot of abundance, so they tend to date around and explore with many options. Depends on the other placements with how they handle this, (I find fire signs to be more up front about it, but they catch feelings like water signs) but they tend to want to move through relationships on as best of terms as they can.
-Libra Sun: kind of a stereotype due to Libra’s indecisive nature and how because they’re viewed as typically being attractive and charming, due to Venus they tend to draw people into them. I also believe that Libras don’t like to be on anyone’s sh*t list, so like they may hookup and date around and try to do a lot of work on the back end to make sure their past relationships still view them in a positive way… and sometimes they may reopen that door to see if they can reconnect to an old flame. (When they find their other half they won’t really do this anymore, but they charm everyone into thinking they’re the one so it can be hard to tell when they really feel this way imo, the moon sign would help with this)
-Leo Sun: This may not be true for every Leo out there, but they usually have a phase of really basking in all of the attention they pull in. (Leo in the big 6 tends to show someone who goes through a period of being ignored or not receiving enough attention before they become a sort of magnet for other people’s attention) That tends to set up Leos for a period when they’re indulging in that attention in all their relationships. Like they’re getting a bit of ego validation by how much all their friends are into them and they go with it and sort of ignore any emotional consequences until they can’t.
-Neptune hard aspects (esp square/opposition) to Moon/Mars: they tend to have a deep fantasy life that affects how they move in the world. They build up their fantasies of the people they’re into being their perfect hook up and they can get “confused” about their feelings about someone. Like they get closer to a friend and hook up and may entertain the idea of dating and a future together but they just don’t actually feel that way about them. Or they break up with someone and still see them in a certain way so they work to please them to some degree in entertaining the idea of getting together again. It’s like future faking but lowkey the native is doing this the most to themselves and trying to figure out what they actually want long term. Sometimes they only understand what they want after an option has been cut off from them.
-Mars hard aspects (esp square/opposition) to Moon: their heart and their d*ck want different things. No but for real though if they have insane s*xual chemistry with someone they’re probably overwhelmed and overthinking it. If they have a deep emotional connection with someone, they may be torn because they lack chemistry with the person. It’s a lot of internal strife of like wanting people to fit together with the perfect traits in the perfect way but the native has to actually figure out what that means for them before they’re able to settle down.
-How do you know if you’re the one? I hate to be blunt about this, but you connection with this guy will take top priority over the others. But dear god you will have to communicate so much to like work through this. You’ll probably have to be a bit patient as you guys get past all of this messiness. The good thing is, that if he’s a good guy he’ll make you feel like you’re in a rom com in a good way, like you’re really loved and cared for, despite all of this. If he’s underdeveloped? Don’t do it girl, he’ll never know what he wants and he’ll stress you tf out (i mean do whatever you want, you’ve just got to figure out if it’s worth the headache and possible heartbreak for you).

Cassie in coma
Tumblr media
Cassie, fragile and defenseless, fights for her life in a hospital bed. Her consciousness is obscured by a coma, and her breathing is supported by artificial ventilation. A long plastic tube, like a thread, woven into her body, becomes the key to her recovery, giving hope that one day she will be able to breathe on her own again.
Tumblr media
She lay motionless as the nurses carefully placed a smooth, blue plastic retainer over her face. This device, made of a strong but flexible material, was supposed to fix the breathing tube, giving it stability and comfort.
Tumblr media
Surrounded by a web of tubes and wires, Cassie lies motionless, connected to life support machines. Droppers, like saving arteries, carry the necessary medicines and nutrients to her. Special catheters inserted into her body ensure the delivery of this fluid and the removal of waste products. There are monitors by her bed, recording the slightest changes in her condition.
Tumblr media
After a long period of uncertainty, the doctors decided on the next step. The surgery, which involves a tracheostomy, will be Cassie's chance of survival, but at the same time, it carries certain risks and uncertainty about the further development of events. The creation of a tracheostomy will provide her with direct access to the respiratory tract, which will allow artificial ventilation of the lungs and support life.
Tumblr media
A ventilator, placed on a standby Cassie's bed, supports her life-giving breaths. Two tubes, like an artificial airway, connect the machine to a tracheostomy tube, delivering oxygen to her lungs and removing carbon dioxide.
Tumblr media
In view of the data obtained during constant monitoring and comprehensive examination, the doctors made a reasoned decision to stop artificial ventilation of the lungs, which for a considerable period ensured the patient's vital activity.
Tumblr media
In one of the tense moments, when it seemed that all chances were lost, Cassie suddenly showed signs of life. Her eyelids, which had remained motionless for days, twitched slightly, and a shadow of a smile flashed across her pale face. This barely perceptible movement became a signal for the doctors, who with a sinking heart were waiting for the patient's first independent breath. And then, after a few anxious seconds, Cassie's chest rose and then fell, filled with air without the aid of a machine.
Tumblr media
Cassie finally woke up. Cassie slowly opened her eyes, returning from the depths of sleep to harsh reality. Looking around, Cassie tried to figure out where she was. Her gaze wandered around the unfamiliar room, stopping at the multitude of tubes, catheters, and wires entwined around her body. Despite her fear and weakness, Cassie believed she would recover.

Google confirms they will disable uBlock Origin in Chrome in 2024
Google confirms they will disable MV2 extensions including uBlock Origin in mid 2024 https://developer.chrome.com/blog/resuming-the-transition-to-mv3/ https://9to5google.com/2023/11/16/chrome-extensions-disabled/
(November 16th 2023)
from the comments (emphasis mine)—
[comment:] Not so fast there partner. Hill has prepared for the scenario with a new extension. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin-lite/ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh
[reply:] Yes, but ublock origin lite lacks a lot of features that actually makes ublock the best:
“ uBO Lite: • Filter lists update only when the extension updates (no fetching up to date lists from servers) • Many filters are dropped at conversion time due to MV3's limited filter syntax • No crafting your own filters (thus no element picker) • No strict-blocked pages • No per-site switches • No dynamic filtering • No importing external lists ”
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/1067als/eli5_ublock_lite_vs_ublock_origin/ Not being able to update the filters without having to update the extension itself is a really big deal! I mean when ublock 1.53 came out, it took google almost a freaking week to finally allow the new version. Why is that a big deal? Imagine that you have a site that you use a lot, that site then implements a way to detect adblock but you are stuck with ublock origin lite, in other words, you can't craft your own filter to by pass that site anti-adblocking (if you have the know how), you can't also come to ubo reddit to ask someone else to craft them for you and with that instantly solve the issue and you also don't have access to element picker which could also solve problem! Now, the only thing you can do? Report the problem to ubo team, then wait until they add the new filter which will bypass the antiblock to the new version of ubo lite which you don't know when its getting released and after that you will have to wait until google authorizes the new update to be released which like I've said, takes several days! Another example is youtube itself, if we were stuck with ubo lite right now, we would be losing the war against youtube anti-adblock badly! Because the only reason ubo is kinda able to keep up with youtube anti-adblocking is because after youtube updates their blocking script (which is every 12 hours), ubo team then updates their filters and then we as users just need to run the update manually inside the extension and boom we are back on business! Which won't be possible with ubo lite at all.
Firefox also plans to eventually deprecate MV2 (no timeline yet), BUT Firefox's implementation of MV3 will allow extensions like ublock origin and privacy badger to continue actually working:
Mozilla's implementation of Mv3 will differ in two critical ways from Google's. First, it will provide developers with access to the APIs Google considers too troublesome to retain.
"While other browser vendors introduced declarativeNetRequest (DNR) in favor of blocking Web Request in Mv3, Firefox Mv3 continues to support blocking Web Request and will support a compatible version of DNR in the future," said Shane Caraveo, engineering manager for WebExtensions at Mozilla, in a blog post. "We believe blocking Web Request is more flexible than DNR, thus allowing for more creative use cases in content blockers and other privacy and security extensions." (However, Caraveo says Firefox also intends to support DNR for its performance and compatibility characteristics. The blocking version of Web Request can slow things down if coded clumsily, so Mozilla wants developers to have the option to use the less intrusive and less dynamic DNR API.) Second, Mozilla is supporting Event Pages in Firefox's Mv3 implementation. Mv3 dispenses with persistent background pages – scripts that run in the background, potentially slowing things down and consuming resources. As an alternative, the spec provides Service Workers – scripts that run and then shut down. But the Service Workers API – which Mozilla intends to support eventually – does not have access to the Document Object Model (DOM) or other WebAPIs. So Event Pages – non-persistent background pages – provide more options for developers.
(obligatory: switching from chrome to firefox is easy. it can import your autofills, history, passwords, etc. without any headache. it is not hard to switch)

my old hyper fixations coming back to haunt me
The half feathered half webbed wings is to a) make things weirder b) giving him the shape of scapular feathers and/or a tail to fill in that "gap" and maybe serve as some sort of steering structure (a detail I've just ignored because its ~fantasy~).
Grabby wing hands for climbing or holding onto stuff, kinda just going all in on the idea of the wings being the stronger more developed structures compared to the arms/hands and otherwise exploring what interesting things we can do with anatomy while preserving that human torso silhouette.
Playing around with the idea of there being some kind of flexible extension from the vertebra to visually anchor the wings more to the body and give some stability in flight. Our (human) center of gravity is in our hips which is ideal for walking upright and not ideal for being horizontal so the question is how do you keep the lower body from dragging during flight. If you're stubborn like me and don't want to give this particular character a tail or chicken legs to solve this problem, maybe he's just not an efficient flier and that's also kinda interesting!
anyway, if you really wanna get good at something like any kind of anatomy, having a character that you're invested in and willing to draw over and over again is a good way to go about it.
