Bill! Bill! Bill!
Now that the Olympics are done and dusted, good ol' Bill Cipher and his book of horrors are back on top (of this list, your hearts, and bestseller lists). With more fanfics than ever, Deadpool and Wolverine may very well be next in line to dethrone the reigning Marvel ship, Spideypool. Conversation about the latest and final season of The Umbrella Academy continues, and some very expensive preorders have popped up for the upcoming Dragon Age sequel, The Veilguard. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.

[ watching ]
Pit Babe 2, ep 7 - This episode had a lot packed into it: we finally got some of Willy's back story (loved it, need more), awesome camera work, and so much angsty deliciousness for Babe and Charlie. My full recap is here.
Reset, ep 2 - The show introduced comedy this week which was unexpected and didn't totally work for me. But the rest of it was excellent. Full recap is here.
Under the Skin s2, ep 1-9 - I'm enjoying it so far, but all the cases are so depressing. So I'm not zipping through it like usual and I may end up dropping it because that's a lot to deal with these days. On the plus side, it's beautifully shot.

Reflection
This past week could have been better. I'm not gonna sit here and claimed that I went out dressed in glitter to a club or something. It wasn’t a terrible week by any means. At the start of the week I just decluttered my closet, bedroom, bathroom, and wardrobe. On December 31st, I re-did a new moon ritual I created a way back to invite new energy for the New Year.
For New Years I was forced to spend time yet again with my dad's side of the family. We spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with them. I haven't seen my mom's side of the family for over a year now. I don't love my family per say. I wouldn't spend time around my family members if we weren't family if that makes sense. They're also all guys on my dad's side besides my girl cousins who are all like 8 and under. Some of my uncles grilled meat and we spent the night outside until around 11:00 when we went home to spend the last 30 minutes as immediate family only plus my older sister's boyfriend that no one likes but she insisted come because his family doesn't do anything for New Years.
On January 1, I spent the day journaling. I'm almost done finishing my prior to 2025 spreads. January isn't typically a busy month for me. It is more towards February that I have more up to date things to write about. Then from January 2-4 I spent some time on and off journaling, sending out information to my sorority chapter on their academic check ins, and made some plans with my Greek family tree to go out next week for my Little Mia's birthday.
Next Week

day 02 // 100dop++

new year's planning...also oops cuz i just realized i made a typo (no way would i survive a one-month long course in organic chem...thank god they don't exist 😅)
honestly so not ready to go back to school, i just wanna finish all the programming courses i started and read all the journal articles i want to (they're a large contributor to the many browser tabs i have open 😭). it's not because i don't like what i'll be learning about - the journal articles i'm reading are on life sciences topics after all. i dread the rigidity and unforgivingness of the semester and lonely feelings that come with it. i feel so much more free and like i have a choice in how i spend my days when i'm not in school.
study stats (50/10): 🍅🍅🍅🍅(? i stopped counting after 3h)
meditate ✅
physio ✅
finish reading metabolomics article ✅
start reading proteomics article ✅
learn Perl ✅
learn R ✅
exercise ✅

It's been a thirsty week on ye olde tumblr dot com
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Deadpool & Wolverine is about as gay as it gets without kissing—though some of you are convinced they did, in fact, have relations in that car. For Jujutsu Kaisen fans, some fears were apparently confirmed, and you are all feeling many feelings about that. The Book of Bill was released last week to much acclaim here on Tumblr, and you all keep on proving you really do love a sexyman, whatever shape he might take. And the ongoing sports in Paris continue to give you all much to yell and art about (shout out to all the art of the air pistol podium icons). This is Tumblr’s Week in Review.

Hey it's Monday! Let's try that
Week-In-Review?
I am definitely doing these more as an adulting accountability post I think, but regardless!
Reading:
Finished The Hollow Places, highly recommended, deeply disturbing and yet ultimately wonderfully comforting/validating/humane. Can't quite think of the word I want? But it makes you glad to be a People on This World of Ours! (If also very glad that the specific adventures in the book are fiction and you do not have to worry about them spreading to anyone else 😅)
Am currently re-reading a series I recalled from when I was, idk, 10 or something, called The Time Keeper which holds up pretty well. I'm enjoying them... they're VERY 80s-SFF-Juvenile Fiction, though, if anyone is familiar with that niche of a sub-genre. 😄
My mother and I had a weird conversation awhile back: do you remember those books with the time travel and the stepping stones when I was a kid? and did eventually figure out the series with only that! Then she found the ebooks re-issued by the author and got them for me. 🎉
Playing:
Murder by Numbers, which is a mystery VN plus a slew of those pictogram puzzle things, and I am enjoying it a lot. Though I got a low(er) score on the third case and am not sure what I missed, so it may be a bit before I go back to finish it... It goes gloriously hard with its 90s aesthetic/setting too, so that's fun.
Adulting:
I have not been making my bed or doing anything beyond the bare minimum of laundry, but the dishes are being held in check and I've been taking my meds and no one missed an appointment or starved, so that's pretty much a win, I think?
Creating:
I did work on the Current Cross Stitch, but it's a bit of a slog atm (and I think I screwed up a color) so that didn't last long...
No writing either.
Instead I made a Crochet Kit Piggie!

She's a little crooked, but I'm pleased by my first attempt. 💕 Next I'm trying an Elephant and they'll go sit on the picture book shelf with Thing 2's old Elephant & Piggie Books, since I still remember those pretty fondly myself.
And that's about it? We got a bit of snow today, which was nice, but otherwise it's been the same old around here.
What have you been up to, my dears & darlings?

Albert Pujols wants you to buy my book.
Here are this week's stories:
MONDAY This Week's Power Rankings (MLB.com)
TUESDAY I Did a Washington Post Panel About Pete Rose (The Washington Post)
WEDNESDAY How the Knicks Make the NBA Finals (New York) Seven Potential MVPs Who Haven't Won One Yet (MLB.com)
THURSDAY American Life Has Become an Endless Zombie Debate (The New York Times)
PODCASTS
Grierson & Leitch (subscribe in iTunes) Grierson is in Cannes, but we posted our talk about "Lloyd McNeil's Last Ride."
Morning Lineup (subscribe in iTunes) I did Monday's and Friday's shows this week.
Seeing Red (subscribe in iTunes) Bernie and I tried to figure out this team's ceiling.
Book promotion is exhausting, but worth it. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, everyone, and remember: If I were on Death Row, my last meal would be from Steak ‘n Shake. If I were to take President Obama and his family to dinner and the choice were up to me, it would be Steak ‘n Shake–and they would be delighted. If the Pope were to ask where he could get a good plate of spaghetti in America, I would reply, “Your Holiness, have you tried the Chili Mac or the Chili 3-Ways?”

15th Oct.
This week has been difficult for me. Recovering from a medical procedure took longer than I had hoped and with my not so great mental health I’ve been feeling pretty down.
But there have been things to bring me back up, and I’m forever grateful for that. I haven’t been involving myself in fandom much recently for personal reasons but I’ve been in the background enjoying peoples posts and creations. And of course, the man himself always brings joy - I wasn’t able to join the bloodsucking bastards watch on the space sisters server but I had a Prospect rewatch which always lifts my spirits. Thank goodness for Ezra & Pedro 💚

I’ve read less than I’d hoped to this week, but I’ve loved the things I have! Some recs from me:
A forgotten scene by @fromthedeskoftheraven
Cockwarming w Marcus M by @flightlessangelwings
Kiss me quick by @secretelephanttattoo
I’ve also made a start to some longer fics & series which I’m loving and so excited to keep reading! (I’m so so slow, I’m sorry)
The Pit by @morallyinept
Muddy Waters by @bonezone44
Recovery Road by @chronically-ghosted
A ghost of you by @wannab-urs
Compulsion by @iamskyereads

Of my own work, this week I’ve posted a few little things - to be honest I’ve been filled with dread about posting fic recently but I’m pushing through and trying to appreciate my own creativity more:
-Dulia (Ezra x gn!reader)
-Ascending Stars (Ezra x f!reader)
-take the long way home pt 2 (marcus pike x afab!reader)
-A selection of Dieter & one Ezra phone wallpapers here and here

For the week ahead, I’m kind of nervous about some work things but I do have plans (a date!!) and I’m super excited to hopefully have Our House of Flames pt 3 (Joel x reader) out. I also have a good old list of fic to read (95 and counting on my tbr - god bless the talented and prolific writers in this fandom).
Thank you all for brightening my dash & my days - always sending my appreciation. And love to anyone who reads this random Sunday ramble!

currents.20[2025]
selections from my week in media [ 11-17 may 2025 ]
[ anticipating ]
💎 SHINEE COMEBACK 💎
[ reading ]
His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire #1) by Naomi Novik {4.5 stars} - historical fantasy - I don't love the setting, but Temeraire and Laurence really make up for a lot. There was a death that made me cry and injustice that made me furious with pretty much all the characters. But Temeraire loves books and is way smarter than his human. I love them so much and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
[ watching ]
Love Never Fails, ep 16-31 - Decided to keep going so I didn't have so much to watch later and I'm glad I did. The second mortal storyline was a little more interesting and now we're in the home stretch.
Murderbot, ep 1-2 - The first two episodes were excellent. A 25-minute runtime isn't long enough though, especially when there are only 10 episodes in the season. It's been long enough since I last read the book, that I only have a vague idea of what is going to happen, plot-wise. One thing that does seem different is Gurathin's character is more front and center than I remember. There's a lot more time and effort devoted to Sanctuary Moon than I expected and it feels more Star Trek than Stargate Atlantis, so that was a surprise. But it's really well done and I love how they incorporated it. I haven't seen a lot of Alexander Skarsgård's work, so I didn't really know what to expect of his performance as Murderbot. But I kind of love it. So deadpan snarky.
The Next Prince, ep 2-3 - Hope remains: it looks like Thatdanai isn't dead! And after some great acting from Khanin, plus Charan's mustache, they managed to travel safely to Emmaly. This show is so watchable. It's fun, isn't afraid of being emotional and the bodyguard trope keeps giving.
Pit Babe 2, ep 3 - Babe and Charlie communicate, a new mole contendor is added to the list, and Willy drives a scooter. We got a great episode this week. My thoughts, let me show you them.
