On Friday, the president signed yet another Executive Order, this time directly targeting funds allocated to libraries and museums nationwide. The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is a federal agency that distributes fund approved by Congress to state libraries, as well as library, museum, and archival grant programs. IMLS is the only federal agency that provides funds to libraries. The Executive Order states that the functions of the IMLS have to be reduced to “statutory functions” and that in places that are not statutory, expenses must be cut as much as possible. [...] The department has seven days to report back, meaning that as soon as this Friday, March 21, 2025, public libraries–including school and academic libraries–as well as public museums could see their budgets demolished.
Actionable items from the article:
Sign the petition at EveryLibrary to stop Trump’s Executive Order seeking to gut the IMLS then share it with your networks.
Write a letter to each of your Senators and to your Representative at the federal level. You can find your Senators here and your Representative here. All you need to say in this letter is that you, a resident of their district, demand they speak up and defend the budget of IMLS. Include a short statement of where and how you value the library, as well as its importance in your community. This can be as short as “I use the library to find trusted sources of information, and every time I am in there, the public computers are being used by a variety of community members doing everything from applying for jobs to writing school papers. Cutting the funds for libraries will further harm those who lack stable internet, who cannot afford a home library, and who seek the opportunities to engage in programming, learning, enrichment, and entertainment in their own community. Public libraries help strengthen reading and critical thinking skills for all ages.” In those letters, consider noting that the return on investment on libraries is astronomical. You can use data from EveryLibrary.
Call the offices of each of your Senators and Representatives in Congress. Yes, they’ll be busy. Yes, the voice mails will be full. KEEP CALLING. Get your name on the record against IMLS cuts. Do this in addition to writing a letter. If making a call creates anxiety, use a tool like 5 Calls to create a script you can read when you reach a person or voice mail.
Though your state-level representatives will not have the power to impact what happens with IMLS, this is your time to reach out to each of your state representatives to emphasize the importance of your state’s public libraries. Note that in light of potential cuts from the federal government, you advocate for stronger laws protecting libraries and library workers, as well as stronger funding models for these institutions.
Show up at your next public library meeting, either in person at a board meeting or via an email or letter, and tell the library how much it means to you. In an era where information that is not written down and documented simply doesn’t exist, nothing is more crucial than having your name attached to some words about the importance of your public library. This does not need to be genius work–tell the library how you use their services and how much they mean to you as a taxpayer.
Tell everyone you know what is at stake. If you’ve not been speaking up for public institutions over the last several years, despite the red flags and warnings that have been building and building, it is not too late to begin now. EveryLibrary’s primer and petition is an excellent resource to give folks who may be unaware of what’s going on–or who want just the most important information.

“The Fagin figure leading Elon Musk’s merry band of pubescent sovereignty pickpockets”
Tumblr media
This week only, Barnes and Noble is offering 25% off pre-orders of my forthcoming novel Picks and Shovels. ENDS TODAY!.
Tumblr media
While we truly live in an age of ascendant monsters who have hijacked our country, our economy, and our imaginations, there is one consolation: the small cohort of brilliant, driven writers who have these monsters' number, and will share it with us. Writers like Maureen Tkacik:
https://prospect.org/topics/maureen-tkacik/
Journalists like Wired's Vittoria Elliott, Leah Feiger, and Tim Marchman are absolutely crushing it when it comes to Musk's DOGE coup:
https://www.wired.com/author/vittoria-elliott/
And Nathan Tankus is doing incredible work all on his own, just blasting out scoop after scoop:
https://www.crisesnotes.com/
But for me, it was Tkacik – as usual – in the pages of The American Prospect who pulled it all together in a way that finally made it make sense, transforming the blitzkreig Muskian chaos into a recognizable playbook. While most of the coverage of Musk's wrecking crew has focused on the broccoli-haired Gen Z brownshirts who are wilding through the server rooms at giant, critical government agencies, Tkacik homes in on their boss, Tom Krause, whom she memorably dubs "the Fagin figure leading Elon Musk’s merry band of pubescent sovereignty pickpockets" (I told you she was a great writer!):
https://prospect.org/power/2025-02-06-private-equity-hatchet-man-leading-lost-boys-of-doge/
Krause is a private equity looter. He's the guy who basically invented the playbook for PE takeovers of large tech companies, from Broadcom to Citrix to VMWare, converting their businesses from selling things to renting them out, loading them up with junk fees, slashing quality, jacking up prices over and over, and firing everyone who was good at their jobs. He is a master enshittifier, an enshittification ninja.
Krause has an unerring instinct for making people miserable while making money. He oversaw the merger of Citrix and VMWare, creating a ghastly company called The Cloud Software Group, which sold remote working tools. Despite this, of his first official acts was to order all of his employees to stop working remotely. But then, after forcing his workers to drag their butts into work, move back across the country, etc, he reversed himself because he figured out he could sell off all of the company's office space for a tidy profit.
Krause canceled employee benefits, like thank you days for managers who pulled a lot of unpaid overtime, or bonuses for workers who upgraded their credentials. He also ended the company's practice of handing out swag as small gifts to workers, and then stiffed the company that made the swag, wontpaying a $437,574.97 invoice for all the tchotchkes the company had ordered. That's not the only supplier Krause stiffed: FinLync, a fintech company with a three-year contract with Krause's company, also had to sue to get paid.
Krause's isn't a canny operator who roots out waste: he's a guy who tears out all the wiring and then grudgingly restores the minimum needed to keep the machine running (no wonder Musk loves him, this is the Twitter playbook). As Tkacik reports, Krause fucked up the customer service and reliability systems that served Citrix's extremely large, corporate customers – the giant businesses that cut huge monthly checks to Citrix, whose CIOs received daily sales calls from his competitors.
Workers who serviced these customers, like disabled Air Force veteran David Morgan, who worked with big public agencies, were fired on one hour's notice, just before their stock options vested. The giant public agency customers he'd serviced later called him to complain that the only people they could get on the phone were subcontractors in Indian call centers who lacked the knowledge and authority to resolve their problems.
Last month, Citrix fired all of its customer support engineers. Citrix's military customers are being illegally routed to offshore customer support teams who are prohibited from working with the US military.
Citrix/VMWare isn't an exception. The carnage at these companies is indistinguishable from the wreck Krause made of Broadcom. In all these cases, Krause was parachuted in by private equity bosses, and he destroyed something useful to extract a giant, one-time profit, leaving behind a husk that no longer provides value to its customers or its employees.
This is the DOGE playbook. It's all about plunder: take something that was patiently, carefully built up over generations and burn it to the ground, warming yourself in the pyre, leaving nothing behind but ash. This is what private equity plunderers have been doing to the world's "advanced" economies since the Reagan years. They did it to airlines, family restaurants, funeral homes, dog groomers, toy stores, pharma, palliative care, dialysis, hospital beds, groceries, cars, and the internet.
Trump's a plunderer. He was elected by the plunderer class – like the crypto bros who want to run wild, transforming workers' carefully shepherded retirement savings into useless shitcoins, while the crypto bros run off with their perfectly cromulent "fiat" money. Musk is the apotheosis of this mindset, a guy who claims credit for other peoples' productive and useful businesses, replacing real engineering with financial engineering. Musk and Krause, they're like two peas in a pod.
That's why – according to anonymous DOGE employees cited by Tckacik – DOGE managers are hired for their capacity for cruelty: "The criteria for DOGE is how many you have fired, how much you enjoy firing people, and how little you care about the impact on peoples well being…No wonder Tom Krause was tapped for this. He’s their dream employee!"
The fact that Krause isn't well known outside of plunderer circles is absolutely a feature for him, not a bug. Scammers like Krause want to be admitted to polite society. This is why the Sacklers – the opioid crime family that kicked off the Oxy pandemic that's murdered more than 800,000 Americans so far – were so aggressive about keeping their association with their family business, Purdue Pharma, a secret. The Sacklers only wanted to be associated with the art galleries and museums they put their names over, and their lawyers threatened journalists for writing about their lives as billionaire drug pushers (I got one of those threats).
There's plenty of good reasons to be anonymous – if you're a whistleblower, say. But if you ever encounter a corporate executive who insists on anonymity, that's a wild danger sign. Take Pixsy, the scam "copyleft trolls" whose business depends on baiting people into making small errors when using images licensed under very early versions of the Creative Common licenses, and then threatening to sue them unless they pay hundreds or thousands of dollars:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/01/24/a-bug-in-early-creative-commons-licenses-has-enabled-a-new-breed-of-superpredator/
Kain Jones, the CEO of Pixsy, tried to threaten me under the EU's GDPR for revealing the names of the scammer on his payroll who sent me a legal threat, and the executive who ran the scam for his business (I say he tried to threaten me because I helped lobby for the GDPR and I know for a fact that this isn't a GDPR violation):
https://pluralistic.net/2022/02/13/an-open-letter-to-pixsy-ceo-kain-jones-who-keeps-sending-me-legal-threats/
These people understand that they are in the business of ripping people off, causing them grave and wholly unjust financial injury. They value their secrecy because they are in the business of making strangers righteously furious, and they understand that one of these strangers might just show up in their lives someday to confront them about their transgressions.
This is why Unitedhealthcare freaked out so hard about Luigi Mangione's assassination of CEO Brian Thompson – that's not how the game is supposed to be played. The people who sit in on executive row, destroying your lives, are supposed to be wholly insulated from the consequences of their actions. You're not supposed to know who they are, you're not supposed to be able to find them – of course.
But even more importantly, you're not supposed to be angry at them. They pose as mere software agents in an immortal colony organism called a Limited Liability Corporation, bound by the iron law of shareholder supremacy to destroy your life while getting very, very rich. It's not supposed to be personal. That's why Unitedhealthcare is threatening to sue a doctor who was yanked out of surgery on a cancer patient to be berated by a UHC rep for ordering a hospital stay for her patient:
https://gizmodo.com/unitedhealthcare-is-mad-about-in-luigi-we-trust-comments-under-a-doctors-viral-post-2000560543
UHC is angry that this surgeon, Austin's Dr Elisabeth Potter, went Tiktok-viral with her true story of how how chaotic and depraved and uncaring UHC is. UHC execs fear that Mangione made it personal, that he obliterated the accountability sink of the corporation and put the blame squarely where it belongs – on the (mostly) men at the top who make this call.
This is a point Adam Conover made in his latest Factually podcast, where he interviewed Propublica's T Christian Miller and Patrick Rucker:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_5tDXRw8kg
Miller and Rucker published a blockbuster investigative report into Cigna's Evocore, a secret company that offers claims-denials as a service to America's biggest health insurers:
https://www.propublica.org/article/evicore-health-insurance-denials-cigna-unitedhealthcare-aetna-prior-authorizations
If you're the CEO of a health insurance company and you don't like how much you're paying out for MRIs or cancer treatment, you tell Evocore (which processes all your claim authorizations) and they turn a virtual dial that starts to reduce the number of MRIs your customers are allowed to have. This dial increases the likelihood that a claim or pre-authorization will be denied, which, in turn, makes doctors less willing to order them (even if they're medically necessary) and makes patients more likely to pay for them out of pocket.
Towards the end of the conversation, Miller and Rucker talk about how the rank-and-file people at an insurer don't get involved with the industry to murder people in order to enrich their shareholders. They genuinely want to help people. But executive row is different: those very wealthy people do believe their job is to kill people to save money, and get richer. Those people are personally to blame for the systemic problem. They are the ones who design and operate the system.
That's why naming the people who are personally responsible for these immoral, vicious acts is so important. That's why it's important that Wired and Propublica are unmasking the "pubescent sovereignty pickpockets" who are raiding the federal government under Krause's leadership:
https://projects.propublica.org/elon-musk-doge-tracker/
These people are committing grave crimes against the nation and its people. They should be known for this. It should follow them for the rest of their lives. It should be the lead in their obituaries. People who are introduced to them at parties should have a flash of recognition, hastily end the handshake, then turn on their heels and race to the bathroom to scrub their hands. For the rest of their lives.
Naming these people isn't enough to stop the plunder, but it helps. Yesterday, Marko Elez, the 25 year old avowed "eugenicist" who wanted to "normalize Indian hate" and could not be "[paid] to marry outside of my ethnicity," was shown the door. He's off the job. For the rest of his life, he will be the broccoli-haired brownshirt who got fired for his asinine, racist shitposting:
https://www.npr.org/2025/02/06/nx-s1-5289337/elon-musk-doge-treasury
After Krause's identity as the chief wrecker at DOGE was revealed, the brilliant Anna Merlan (author of Republic of Lies, the best book on conspiratorialism), wrote that "Now the whole country gets the experience of what it’s like when private equity buys the place you work":
https://bsky.app/profile/annamerlan.bsky.social/post/3lhepjkudcs2t
That's exactly it. We are witnessing a private equity-style plunder of the entire US government – of the USA itself. No one is better poised to write about this than Tkacik, because no one has private equity's number like Tkacik does:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/06/02/plunderers/#farben
Ironically, all this came down just as Trump announced that he was going to finally get rid of private equity's scammiest trick, the "carried interest" loophole that lets PE bosses (and, to a lesser extent, hedge fund managers) avoid billions in personal taxes:
https://archive.is/yKhvD
"Carried interest" has nothing to do with the interest rate – it's a law that was designed for 16th century sea captains who had an "interest" in the cargo they "carried":
https://pluralistic.net/2021/04/29/writers-must-be-paid/#carried-interest
Trump campaigned on killing this loophole in 2017, but Congress stopped him, after a lobbying blitz by the looter industry. It's possible that he genuinely wants to get rid of the carried interest loophole – he's nothing if not idiosyncratic, as the residents of Greenland can attest:
https://prospect.org/world/2025-02-07-letter-between-friendly-nations/
Even if he succeeds, looters and the "investor class" will get a huge giveaway under Trump, in the form of more tax giveaways and the dismantling of labor and environmental regulation. But it's far more likely that he won't succeed. Rather – as Yves Smith writes for Naked Capitalism – he'll do what he did with the Canada and Mexico tariffs: make a tiny, unimportant change and then lie and say he had done something revolutionary:
https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2025/02/is-trump-serious-about-trying-to-close-the-private-equity-carried-interest-loophole.html
This has been a shitty month, and it's not gonna get better for a while. On my dark days, I worry that it won't get better during my lifetime. But at least we have people like Tkacik to chronicle it, explain it, put it in context. She's amazing, a whirlwind. The same day that her report on Krause dropped, the Prospect published another must-read piece by her, digging deep into Alex Jones's convoluted bankruptcy gambit:
https://prospect.org/justice/2025-02-06-crisis-actors-alex-jones-bankruptcy/
It lays bare the wild world of elite bankruptcy court, another critical conduit for protecting the immoral rich from their victims. The fact that Tkacik can explain both Krause and the elite bankruptcy system on the same day is beyond impressive.
We've got a lot of work ahead of ourselves. The people in charge of this system – whose names you must learn and never forget – aren't going to go easily. But at least we know who they are. We know what they're doing. We know how the scam works. It's not a flurry of incomprehensible actions – it's a playbook that killed Red Lobster, Toys R Us, and Sears. We don't have to follow that playbook.

A Solar Return Chart (SRC) is an astrological predictive tool that enable you to discover what will happen for you during the year of your birthday. It is based on the return of your Sun, so your Sun will have the same exact position as in your Natal Chart.
Tumblr media
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Sun 10H means focus on this year is on career, popularity and success in those areas. I can be more popular and achieve a certain level of fame this year. I can also be more successful in my career and perhaps more known in it too. I can make a name for myself.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Moon 10H means I'll be more connected to my work emotionally. But that also means caring more about my work. I'll be very focused on my career. I can also be prone to stress more about my career this year. This placement also suggests emotions based on work. But it means my emotions will be public too. Also working from home.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Mercury 10H means I can write more for work, I can communicate more also at work or for work. I'll talk a lot about work, or ideas perhaps too. A time to work online a lot, and I can also communicate a lot with clients. I can be talked about more this year for my career, or even reputation matters too.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Virgo Mercury can mean expressing ourselves in a very logical and analytical way this year. Mercury in Virgo makes us talk in a more serious tone, or just more detailed one too. There are less emotions, meaning we also express ourselves based on what is more logical to do, and less based on how we feel.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Venus 10H means big success in my career this year! Recognition will def happen. It can mean also I will love what I do for living this year. This can also mean meeting more people related to my job, and make more friends who are coworkers. And this can also mean having more connections too.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Mars 8H can be a sign of having s3x often this year, and to be more intimate than before too. This can be a year you'll have a lot of steamy moments. It can also indicate some people being "obsessed" with me. I can manifest more easily this year too.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Jupiter 8H also is an indicator of having a lot of s3x this year. It can also be an indicator of some people having a crush on me. This is also an indicator of being able to manifest more. ⋆⭒˚。⋆ Uranus 7H means having unexpected events happening in your love life. Meeting people unexpectedly. I could also meet people I never thought I would meet. Ruler tells a lot. My Ruler is in 10H, so I could meet people for work or who will help me in my work. I can also have a sudden contract for work. Uranus also represents change, so sudden change and transformation happening in my love life, and a contract can also transform my career suddenly.

⋆⭒˚。⋆ Capricorn 3H can mean being more serious about the way I speak and express myself, but also more dedicated too. I can also speak a lot about work.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Aquarius 4H means relationship with family members can change, evolve. I can also move, something will be different about my home and family than the previous years. Something will change, and perhaps a new family member can come (marriage, in laws, babies, etc.)
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Pisces 5H can mean very creative and romantic this year.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Aries 6H means more energies to my routine, and being very busy this year.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Taurus 7H means finding love is more possible, since I have a Venus sign over the 7H. But it can make me attract serious and long term relationships this year.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Taurus 8H can mean I can be less worried about money this year. I am also more chill.
⋆⭒˚。⋆ Cancer 9H, I don't think I'll travel much this year. I could still, but it won't perhaps be too much in foreign lands. If I do travel in foreign lands, it can be perhaps related to homes, so I could live in foreign lands eventually. But it doesn't seem like a big placement.

• You'll be able to outsmart people trying to sabotage or trick you.
• Moments of joy and celebration with people you know and trust rather than having to be around people you don't out of obligation.
• Some of you might even be able to be sober or cut out an unhealthy addiction or attachment around this time. Please be kind towards yourself and celebrate your wins.
• You'll have the necessary tools and resources to bring what you want in your life. This means, if you think that you're falling short of something, it's not true. Think again, you'll always be provided for, stealth opportunities will always arrive, solutions will always be presented, you also likely have the skill required for XYZ etc.
• Very niche blessing, but if some of you were struggling with hair issues, this will get better. Expect healthier hair regardless of whatever length you're going for.
• Some of you will also be blessed with better colleagues or social circles/network.
• Look out for messages in your dreams or any 'hunches' that you get.
• There's also a message I'm getting to expand your horizons, don't confine yourself because you're used to it.

• Wisdom and clarity in your intuition will guide you the most. You'll be blessed in making decisions quickly and effectively. You'll also feel a lot more authoritative in your life. You'll also be able to switch off external noise, retreat and be content with yourself and your inner knowing.
• Blessings of steady progress and tangible results. Whatever efforts you've put in and continue to put in this season will lead to substantial accomplishment in the coming 8-9 months. It will be a very visible progress.
• You'll be blessed with something that makes you rather excited even if it seems like a lot of work is required in it you'll be more than happy to do it. Some of you may also be preparing to travel. I'm also seeing peace, prosperity and a sense of balance coming out of said travelling.
• It seems like during Autumn season some of you diligently 'locked in' be it in your mindset or anything that you believed in and this winter is bringing you the results.
Picture 3
• You'll be blessed with moments of pure joy and happiness. Maybe in the beginning it might even feel difficult to process an emotion this lovely but it will start becoming your new normal. Promise yourself to strive for the same.
• You'll have recognition and acknowledgement even for the small wins. It will flow in easier for you. Whether it's a compliment or a thank you or a simple celebration. You'll feel appreciated. And you deserve it!
• Your smaller wins will accumulate into bigger ones. You may also get a lumpsum of money or something tangible out of the blue.
• Balance will come to you naturally. Be it your personal and professional life or your own physical health etc. you won't feel like you're always on the edge of tipping over.
• You'll be blessed with a better sense of self and well being which will come through sooner once you acknowledge your own ways of self sabotage and decide to not let this be something you hold onto any longer. It's not worth it. That your self worth isn't tied to others or anything outside of you. That you are capable.
• Some of you, if you've been struggling with authority, leadership or a father figure in your life. Expect things to get better.
• Some of you who are athletes or in any kind of sports or entertainment, look forward to much awaited recognition as well as allocades.

Cold Metal, Warm Sensation
Characters: Poly!LADs x gn!mc, Caleb x gn!mc (Caleb POV)
Warnings: Spoilers for Caleb's story.
Word Count: 3363
Written: 18th February 2025
Notes: Established-relationship with gn!MC with all LADs, with my personal pov of the game and lil headcanons littered in. Unnamed MC, but using my personal MC's basic appearance and adjusted backstory. I take some liberties with what the game offers me. Ok I finally got this done, amidst the pain... This is pre Caleb joins Polycule fully, but it's post Caleb stops trying to lock MC in a box. (Unless they ask nicely). Polycule understand the agony of not being able to touch your loved one, lucky (and unlucky) for Caleb.
Now Playing: I'm With You, by Avril Lavigne
Masterlist AO3
The first time his arm comes up, is after he says goodbye to you one morning. You have a mission with Xavier in the Fusion No-Hunt Area, so as you say goodbye to everyone, Caleb takes your right hand in his own.
It's become something of a routine for him, or a ritual, he thinks. He can't feel the metal of your prosthetic against his unfeeling right hand, but he can squeeze without worrying about hurting you. He looks down at your clasped hands, and watches as you squeeze back. Your other hand goes to his cheek and then you press a kiss to his skin.
It's fleeting, and quick, as you release and race off to follow Xavier. Yelling a final goodbye behind you, Mephisto follows on a gust of feathers.
He sits back at the kitchen counter, staring down at his hand, raising it to his cheek, and exhales a sigh.
No matter how much he touches you, it never seems to be enough. Like he is always missing something. An unending yearning or greed he can't sate properly. He can touch you with his left hand all he wants, but he still cannot stop feeling the loss of emptiness in his right like an eternal agony.
"You should let me take a look at it, if it bothers you that much tin-man." Sylus speaks from the side, glasses perched on the end of his nose as he reads through some documents the twins have handed him.
Caleb is trying not to chafe around your polycule. He is, he tells himself. Even if he glares or huffs, faking smiles when you're around to not hurt you. They care about you, almost as much as he does, he supposes. So they'll do, for now. If nothing else than shields if things get bad.
If EVER want access to you, they can get through these four first.
Instead of responding to the N109's king, he turns away, grabs his coat and leaves.
He isn't their tool to experiment on. He's only ever a tool in your hands.
The second time it comes up is much later, he was injured in a fight, throwing himself in front of a Golem to protect you. Taking the things fist to his raised arm. He'd pushed through the pain, even as his arm was mangled in the process. Firing rounds into the thing's head.
As soon as it was felled, you'd pulled him to the side, furious and agitated. He'd laughed, "I'm fine." He promised, even as he felt the fever rising up through his body. His body failing him as the agony ripped through his system.
He vaguely remembers collapsing, hearing you call his name, and then talking to someone. When he wakes, he's back at your home. Their home. His home? In one of Sylus' rooms where he tinkers on Mephisto.
Spread out over the table, as the man works, humming along mostly in tune to a song Caleb has heard you singing to.
He feels like he's floating, and it's hard to speak, when his body feels so dreadfully heavy. The flash and heat of a soldering iron as parts are repaired, is familiar, though not comforting. Taking him back to cold lab walls, and agonising electrical storms through neurons.
It is one point of heat in his left hand, that tells him he's not there. Your head is on the table next to him, asleep as you grasp onto him like he'll disappear without your hand anchored to his.
Caleb thinks for a moment, that he probably hasn't given you reason to believe he wouldn't.
"They didn't stop crying until you stabilised." Zayne speaks as he enters the room. Mugs on a tray, as he places them down out of the way. "At least your recklessness hasn't changed, Caleb."
There's something quite disconcerting about the disapproval he sees in Zayne's cool eyes. There's a familiarity to it, one he's seen multiple times growing up, as the man had tended to wounds he'd gotten trying to impress or amuse you.
Climbing trees, jumping off a roof, trying to fly with his EVOL, standing up to bullies.
Any manner of reasons that had ended up with him with torn skin or bruises, that Zayne had then sat him down and tended to. Bandaged with careful, and far too steady hands for a child.
Zayne goes to hand him a mug, before realising he has no free hands, smiling softly down at you with warm eyes. Caleb feels his heart and chest twinge and twist. For all the ways he knows you better than he believes anyone else has, that he is the only safe harbour for you… he feels like he's banging up against the wall of realisation every day.
It feels like he's been sent out without coordinates for where his home base is. Waiting for you to walk away and leave him behind.
Not needing him, where he knows he still needs you.
Is he so easy to replace?
"You're thinking stupid things again, tin-man." Sylus speaks, pausing his work to reach over for his drink, and to tug Zayne down by his tie to place a kiss of thanks to his forehead, "Always staring like you're waiting for the doors to close in front of you. Loving someone isn't easy. It's a choice."
Caleb wants to snap, that he doesn't need lectures from a criminal, but truthfully what part of his hands aren't caked in blood that marks him one too. Battering against the realisation that every choice he has made, has made him someone you argue with, struggled with. That your heart is kinder than his is, because he only cares for you, and you care so much for so many.
Even though his heart aches, as he goes to pull his hand away from your tight grip, you stir. The three watch as you blink awake, one eye opening to look up at him. A sleepy, soft smile tugging scarred lips up into endearment, as you tighten your hand again. You exhale a 'morning', on an airy voice, and then nestle closer, "I'm glad you're ok Caleb."
He watches as your eyes close and your breathing evens out again, exhaustion clear in the lines on your face, but the strain softened by relief, and feels the deep urge to cry.
"Maybe you should give us a chance to help you. Instead of continuing to close doors on yourself." Zayne offers, indicating where Sylus has resumed his work, fixing Caleb's arm.
Despite himself… the man's work is clean, and careful.
He files it away to think about, but not now. When your hand is so warm in his.
The third time, is when he's watching Rafayel paint your prosthetic. Occasionally, you flinch under the brush, laughter spilling out. When he questions it, you smile at him, mismatched eyes twinkling. "It tickles."
He watches as the fish gets gleeful at this, dipping it back into the metal-safe paint and swirling it up and down your arm. Your laugh escapes you in a boom, and you pull away from him, "Raffy, stop!"
Xavier's head is jostled out of your lap, and you fling yourself forward, to take the brush from the man's hand, painting over his nose, then his cheeks, then his throat. When you're satisfied, you pull away and nod, "What a good piece of art I've created." Sticking your tongue out at him.
Rafayel pouts and pokes your nose in retaliation, taking his brush back to draw a heart and then a fish on your cheek, "But you've smudged my masterpiece." He indicates the smeared paint on your prosthetic.
Caleb has watched this routine several times, every now and then, you need to get the casing of your prosthetic properly cleaned, not just wiped down. When this happens, the 'decoration' Rafayel paints on, has to be replaced. You say this like it's of the utmost importance, and he doesn't really understand.
He would never have thought about decorating his own, hiding it away often, because that's easier. It's better. If he doesn't see it, maybe he doesn't have to think about it. Even if the abyss of sensation reminds him every moment.
Still, he has seen you look down at the finished paintings, turning your arm to smile at them, and the way your eyes soften.
So that day he asks why, why is it so important? While Xavier complains about being disturbed, and finds his way to Rafayel's lap, who uses one hand to brush through his hair, and the other to clean up the mess of your arm.
You look at Rafayel, then back at Caleb, reaching out with your left hand to brush strands of hair away from Xavier's eyes.
He watches the way you tilt your head, the way you flex your fingers, and then the way you turn to look back at him. Serious, and considerate. Like you'd never actually put it into words before, just felt it.
"I didn't like it originally, my arm. It was a reminder of failure, a reminder that I was different." The words ache in Caleb's chest, like a dagger through the heart. He wants to pull you into his arms, tell you you're perfect, but he watches how carefully you hold your arm for Rafayel's work and stills himself. "When Raffy first painted it, it looked pretty. I wanted to look at it." Caleb watches, as the fish takes your metal hand in his and places a kiss to the wrist, before resuming his work.
The brand has gotten softer over time. Less painful.
He doesn't grate and ache and burn, to watch them hold you. He's not sure when he changed so much.
"Over time it just became a routine, it made me like it more. Like my body more, to decorate it. Now I can look at it without the art and not hate it, but I still like to see Raffy's art on my body." You kiss the man in question's head.
"I have a good canvas, cutie."
Xavier nods against Rafayel's lap, "Pretty." is mumbled against his legs.
You look over at Caleb then, eyes bright, hopeful. Warm. He's always likened you to the sun, and every moment you grace him with your presence is a moment he's too lucky, too blessed and too spoiled. "I bet it'd be nice on yours too?"
He notices the fish's eyes flicker to him, sees the careful observation, and forces a laugh through a tight throat, "Maybe." Is all he can offer.
Because truly, wouldn't it be too good for him, to be given the right to love the thing that helped make him a monster.
The fourth time, he brings it up himself. He's watching the stars on the balcony, as Xavier and Sylus play a game of kitty cards they're both far too competitive with. As Zayne reads and Rafayel sketches.
You're in his arms, staring up at the sky, eyes flickering closed as you become more and more drowsy.
As Caleb looks at you, he reaches his right hand, to entwine your metal fingers with his own. Running his thumb over your hand, the ache deep in his bones to do it with his left hand so he can feel it.
He wants to feel it with both. He wants to hold you in both hands and feel complete again.
Instead of staring and willing himself to suddenly know the heat of your skin under his right hand again. Instead of seeing agony in your face when he's in pain, and that's the only time his right hand responds to the sensation of you.
His throat is tight, when he speaks, turning his head slightly to the others, "If you can fix it, then do it."
Caleb is not used to asking for help, or letting anyone see his weakness. He has always been told all through growing up to protect you, that you need him to be strong, that you need him to keep you safe. If he was weak, how could you ever want to rely on him?
He's had to learn through yelling matches, and doors closed in front of you. Through bitten off insults and frustration. Through you leaving and threatening not to come back. Through days of struggling to get himself to breathe, to see you again. To listen to what you were saying, before he could let you walk next to him.
Even if his heart still won't relax. Even if he still thinks about that maze he wants to build, that world just for the two of you.
He doesn't want to capture the butterfly and watch it die in his hands.
He thinks if that happened, he truly would hate himself.
When eyes turn to him, including yours, blinking in disbelief, he turns to face forwards. "If you can, anyway." His voice steady, he forces his heart to be stable, his emotions to stay level. Every part of him is trembling under the weight of being watched by people who see more than he wants them to.
"Sure tin-man. You can trust us." Comes the chuckle from the side.
"I'll get in touch with some specialists." Zayne adds, placing a bookmark in his page and leaving the balcony.
You turn in his arms, so you can sit facing him, hands releasing his, and moving up to hold his cheeks. He's sure there's a blush colouring his cheeks at the way you lean in, small smile twisting and press your lips to his forehead. "You can trust them." You affirm, nestling against his neck, when he finally wraps arms around you. A lump in his throat he fights back, "You can trust me."
He knows, above all other things in this world. Caleb knows he can trust you.
He always has.
He sits through testing, but instead of the kind of tests he'd faced with the Fleet and EVER, you are there. A warm familiar presence that reminds him he's not a lab rat. A weapon. A tool. He's Caleb, he always remembers he's Caleb when you're there.
He sits there while you talk to him, and he follows along with the specialists Zayne has called in, while Sylus and Xavier work on his arm.
Both far more adapted to technology than he'd have known.
It's a slow process, as they adapt and change his circuitry. He sits and he tries to be patient, gritting his teeth through when the pain is clawing, and tries to remember what he's aiming for.
It's always easier when you're holding his hand.
During the time he grows somewhat used to the more constant presence of the others.
Zayne seems to fall back into old habits, of taking care of his childhood friends, though you often now sit him down to make him tea, instead. It doesn't stop him asking questions, 'Are you alright', 'where does it hurt most', 'do you need anything?'. The guilt at how he'd reacted to Zayne on their reunion bites at him most when he sees real warm concern in the man's eyes.
He's been offered snacks by Xavier, while he sits through tests. While it had never crossed his mind to question the safety of them, it was odd being offered the kindness. He isn't sure when he last was.
Rafayel mostly pokes his head in to snipe at Sylus as he works, and occasionally comments on Caleb's 'really bad poker face', as he tries not to respond to the taunt. He always comes with some water though, shoving the glass into Caleb's available hand, and then leaving.
Sylus' idea of comfort is singing while he works, and Caleb often wants to remind the man that doesn't comfort anyone but himself. You sometimes join in though, and he bites back the retort. It's not that out of tune, anyway.
He finds himself face to face with a lot of things, he doesn't feel he has the capacity to process in these moments. Pushing them down to deal with when the agony isn't great, and he's tired after long days.
On the day they finally finish, he feels as though he wants to sleep for weeks afterwards. He's drained and worn and though the tests and the refittings had been nothing as bad as under EVER's hand, it is tiring nonetheless to be changed.
Despite himself, however, he is glad for the careful hands. Though he would never admit this too loud to them.
When Xavier and Sylus step back, putting tools down and do one last check over with the screen next to them. You sit nearby, your leg shaking up and down as you wait, none too patiently.
He's seen you like this before, excited, nervous and stressed. Waiting and waiting and waiting. All the energy built up, ready to be released.
He can't say he doesn't feel the same.
"Ready?"
He nods, but he cannot make himself speak. He's waiting for this moment for too long. When the electronic voice rings out with 'rebooting', he doesn't feel anything. No change, no adjustment, his arm doesn't feel any different.
There's a drop in his stomach, like he's waiting for the realisation that it's failed, that nothing can help, that he'll never feel like anything but a robotic tool for EVER again-
Then there's warmth, as a hand slides into his, squeezing.
His heart jumps, and his throat becomes impossibly tight. Eyes moving to where your hand is inside of his. He can feel the pressure, and as he goes to squeeze, he has to remind himself to be careful, because you're flesh and blood. Warm skin, soft and real against his metal.
You're familiar and you're warm and you're there.
And he can feel you. The weight and the reality.
You wrap your metal arm around him to pull him closer and he cannot release your hand no matter what, because he finally, finally, finally, feels you. Careful cool fingers wipe the tears spilling from his eyes, as you hold him, smiling against his cheek as you pull him as close as you can, as he hiccups.
When he finally releases your hand, it's only so he can run his fingers over every part of you, letting you adjust yourself onto his lap, so that he can run fingers through your hair, over your cheek, your nose, across your lips. When you part them, to exhale, the gust against his hand makes his shoulders jump.
So he places his hand around the back of your neck, and kisses you. Salted tears and gasping desperation, as he traverses metal over the column of your throat, absent through the air he's stealing out of your lungs. Over your arms, that steady yourself around him, over your ribs, feeling every dip and every roll, he squeezes at your thighs to feel the weight in his hands, and gasps. Pulling away only because he needs to, as he rests his forehead on your shoulder.
You run fingers through the back of his hair, over his neck, as he tries to stop shaking. To stop shuddering at all the feeling of you in his arm, your skin against his hand. It's overwhelming and too much, and everything, but never enough. Like his brain could short circuit and he'd die in bliss.
Like he finally found everything he wanted again.
Like he feels whole.
He's acutely aware for the audience, as he sits overwhelmed on the table, so wrapped around you, he doesn't want to ever be two separate people again, and this time when he looks at his metal arm. Where his hand rests on your skin, where he can feel you alive and under his touch, where he sees the flesh give under his grip and can feel it once more.
Maybe he understands why you love to have yours painted.
Maybe he thinks about how he'll let Rafayel paint his own, if he wants.
Maybe he chokes out a thank you to the people he isn't sure he hates anymore.
Maybe you've led him back home once more.

Before I go on vacation, I present my list of my top books for 2024.
COMICS:
Roaming by Jillian Tamaki & Mariko Tamaki
Bunt! by Ngozi Ukazu & Mad Rupert
Ukazu and Rupert are a powerhouse team, and as an art school adjunct, this already funny GN is even funnier (albeit in a way that necessitates a skull emoji in the educator groupchat)
Tiffany’s Griffon by Magnolia Porter Siddell & Maddi Gonzalez
Phobos and Deimos by J Dalton
Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui
It's a tough task to reach a satisfying conclusion to a series that was as strong as Dungeon, but I think Kui accomplished it!
Fool Night by Kasumi Yasuda
King in Limbo by Ai Tanaka
Over the last year I've been drawn towards comic series that work with a retro, fixed-width inking style, and King especially informed some recent experiments of mine.
PROSE:
Twins by Bari Wood & Jack Geasland
When I learned Wood was responsible for the book that became Dead Ringers, I knew I had to try it. This is the one that wins my "Oh, shit! Wow!! Okay!!!" award for the year (distinctions previously awarded to Cyteen and Manhunt).
The Bezzle by Cory Doctorow
DS9: A Stitch in Time by Andrew J. Robinson
Those of you who read my journal comic from last August might recall that I met Robinson at a Trek convention! I'd learned from reading these books that Stitch was considered a white whale among collectors, and now I absolutely understand why. If you're a DS9 fan and you want to try any book from the original run of novels, try this one. By which I mean, try the far easier-to-find audiobook version.
Translation State by Ann Leckie
A Woman of the Iron People by Eleanor Arnason
Fellow SBCF participant Erin Roseberry had shared this title as an inspiration for their comic, The Maker of Grave-Goods, and I was especially interested in trying a book by a Twin Cities author. What a serendipitous find!
Arboreality by Rebecca Campbell
For the third year in a row, a book nominated for the Le Guin Prize makes the list.
Always Coming Home by Ursula K. Le Guin
This is another book I always told myself I'd try someday, and was it ever worth it! I spent some time talking about my experience with this story (and its accompanying materials that fill out the world) in my talk with Evan Dahm on his show.
See you in the new year! I've packed some thick books for a long flight, so I'm starting my 2025 reading pile right away!
Reruns of my previous two lists, 2023, and 2022, below the cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023
COMICS:
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou by Hitoshi Ashinano
Out of Style by Devi Putri Megwati
Skip and Loafer by Misaki Takamatsu
The Harrowing of Hell by Evan Dahm
The Infinity Particle by Wendy Xu
Esteban by Matthieu Bonhomme
I covered my ShortBox reccs back in October, but since then I also picked up Pearl Hunting by Hana Chatani when it came to itch.io and adored it.
PROSE:
So yes, maybe I'm cheating by including Moby Dick since I'm not all the way finished, but Whale Weekly really did end up being a great tool for getting me to crack open my gorgeous Evan Dahm-illustrated copy I've had for a while.
My favorite book of the year is Roadside Picnic by Arkady & Boris Strugatsky. I genuinely did read it the first week of January, but after having it recommended to me for years, I'm thrilled it didn't disappoint. Maybe I am someone who likes Russian novels after all???

Cyteen by C.J. Cherryh (I jokingly placed these three in the "READ 👏 FEMALE 👏 AUTHORS 👏" category because they don't have anything in common other than describing some of the most upsetting/bizarre scenarios I've read this year. Cyteen especially! Wowee!!!)

A Different Trek by David K. Seitz, which I mentioned as my vacation book for the Star Trek convention, but it's given me some great suggestions for more books, both fiction and otherwise. Also, I read... 11 more DS9 books this year.

economic advice and timely buying tips: 2025 transits
as of late, social media has many discussions about what to buy - or avoid buying - over the next few years, largely in response to the political climate in the united states. across europe, many regions are actively preparing their populations for potential crises (sweden's seems to be the most popularly discussed - link). due to the urgency and pressure to act, as if the world might change tomorrow (and it could though i believe we still have time in many places), i’ve decided to analyze the astrological transits for 2025. in this post i provide practical economic advice and guidance on how much time astrology suggests you have to make these purchases everyone is urging you to prioritize. if it seems to intrigue people i’ll explore future years as well.
things the world needs to prepare for in 2025 in my opinion and why my advice is what it is: the rise of ai / automation of jobs, job loss, geopolitical tensions, war, extreme weather, inflation, tariffs - a potential trade war, a movement of using digital currency, the outbreak of another illness, etc.

Become Your Best Version Before 2025 - Day 27
Hobbies & Passion Projects
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi Goddesses! After exploring all those personal development tools yesterday, let's talk about something that adds real color to our lives, hobbies and passion projects. You know, those things that make us lose track of time and bring a spark to our eyes when we talk about them.
Have you noticed how some of the happiest people you know have interests outside of their daily responsibilities? There's something magical about having activities in your life that you do simply because they bring you joy.
One of the most beautiful things about hobbies is that they don't need to be productive or perfect. They're just for you, for your joy, for that feeling of losing track of time while doing something you love.
Some ways to reconnect with what lights you up:
Think about what you loved doing as a child
Notice what makes you lose track of time
Pay attention to what YouTube videos or social media content you naturally gravitate toward
Remember activities that make you feel energized rather than drained
Think back to when you were younger, what did you love doing just for fun? Maybe you spent hours drawing, built elaborate LEGO creations, or wrote stories in your notebook. Somewhere along the way, many of us let these joyful activities slip away, telling ourselves we're "too busy" or that they're not "productive enough."
Let's change that! Here's how to rediscover or start a hobby that lights you up:
Start Small and Simple
Try one new activity for 15 minutes this week
Use materials you already have at home
Join a free online community or workshop
Watch tutorial videos for inspiration
Finding Your Passion Project
What topics do you love learning about?
Which activities make you forget to check your phone?
What did you dream of doing "someday"?
What skills would you like to develop just for fun?
Making Time for Fun
Schedule short, regular "play dates" with yourself
Keep supplies easily accessible
Join local groups or online communities
Share your progress (only if you want to!)
Hobbies and passion projects aren't just fun, they're good for you! They can:
Reduce stress and anxiety
Boost creativity
Improve work-life balance
Create opportunities for new connections
Build confidence through skill development
Here's a secret: hobbies don't need to be Instagram-worthy or turn into a side hustle. They're valuable simply because they bring you joy and help you unwind.
Quick action step: Pick one hobby or passion project you'd like to explore. It could be something brand new or an old interest you'd like to revisit. Start with just 15 minutes this week.
What hobby or passion project are you curious about? Let's share ideas and inspire each other! Drop a comment below, I'd love to hear from you.
See you tomorrow for Day 28! Remember, making time for activities that bring you joy isn't selfish, it's essential for becoming your best self.
♡ ☆:.。 Keep glowing, babes! ♡ ☆:.。 With love, Goddess Inner Glow.

It's an all Buddie Rec List. Sterek will be back next week, I promise. And I'm trying not to read that many codas. But there absolutely will be codas.
Anyway pay attention to tags. Especially for the last 2 fics on the list.
Buddie: 9
a strong hand and a sound mind by Illgetmerope | @illgetmerope (2025•M•37.9K)
Buck needs to do something reckless. There's a lawyer's business card in his wallet, but Eddie's shop is right there, so he lets himself make a different choice. (title from Noah Kahan)
i wanna be the one that you're callin when you're drunk by instantcaramel | @toxicpositivitybuddie (2025•E•3.4K)
“No, nope. I don’t want to know what’s coming next, especially if it has anything to do with Eddie Diaz. If I have to hear the name Eddie Diaz again for at least twelve hours, I think my head might explode.” Buck doesn’t think he’s talked about Eddie that much. “Can I give you some advice?” “Sure, why not?” “You might have better luck making friends if you don’t spend the entire hang out talking about the one that got away or whatever.” Ravi sighs. “I’m getting an uber home. Your sister will be here soon.” He stands easily. “Goodnight, Buck. See you at work.” ;or Instead of finding Buck's ex, Ravi calls his sister to pick him up from the Bar. A slight 8x11 rewrite.
ragged threads and muddy colors by granadas (2025•E•40.6K)
Buck had thought the black mask that completely covers the top half of the guy's face looked silly, when he'd seen it on the news. Now, with the man in front of him, he realizes why no one jokes about the vigilante's appearance. Even though he clearly doesn't perceive Buck as a threat, he seems like a mountain rather than a real person. All of his muscles look toned, and there's something dangerous in the set of his shoulders. Still, he offers Buck a small smile, one that kind of reminds him of Eddie's. He reaches his hands down to help Buck stand. It puts the man's biceps next to his face. Buck swallows. Be normal when you talk to the hot vigilante, he thinks to himself. "You know they make bigger shirt sizes, right?" he asks instead. — OR: Eddie Diaz is Daredevil. His life gets a lot worse before it gets better.
where do all the cowboys run by smilingbuckley | @cryingbuckley (2025•M•35.4K)
“You- Jesus. Come inside. You’re soaked.” Eddie grabs his arms, pulling Buck into the house. “What the hell are you doing here?” Eddie asks, but he walks away before Buck can answer. Buck sways on his feet. Eddie’s house is warm. A bit too warm, given that the air conditioning still isn’t working. Maybe Buck can fix it, he’s quite handy with tools. Eddie returns in his sight, carrying a stack of… things. Buck isn’t sure. His eyesight is a bit blurry. He can feel a towel being rubbed over his hair, and Eddie mumbles curses under his breath, a mix of Spanish and English. They’re mostly the same, calling Buck an idiot or a fool for standing out in the rain. Or maybe driving while exhausted. Buck’s Spanish isn’t great on a normal day, so his sleepy brain barely bothers to translate. Suddenly, Eddie is undressing him. “Huh?” Buck… well, he doesn’t really asks, he just makes the sound. “You’re going to get sick,” Eddie tells him with a sigh, throwing the wet clothes on the ground. “Idiota, what were you thinking?” Buck sighs, leaning into Eddie, making it more difficult for the other man to undress him, “Missed you.” (AKA: Buck escapes LA after his parents gave an unfriendly visit)
slow down (speed up) by besocrazy | @besocrazy (2025•E•2.0K)
It feels good. Buck’s hands are big and calloused, different from anything he’s felt before. They drag up over his ribcage and then back down again, catching on the elastic of his sleep pants. Buck grunts against his ear, dead asleep but somehow aware enough to be frustrated. Join the club, Eddie thinks.
Crossroads by hearmyplea | @hearmypleas (2025•E•65.2K)
Eddie is on the cusp of breaking down. Everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong. Even a fucking tsunami, of all things. He’s boiling over, and needs release. All these intense feelings he’s carrying are becoming too much. He comes across a flier for “Crossroads”. An underground exclusive nightclub aimed towards dark clubbing and exploration of self with full anonymity. A place where he can release, let loose, and maybe learn more about himself, and examine some… feelings he’s starting to come to terms with. Feelings he definitely wouldn’t mind exploring with that masked, tall and hunky dancer on that stage over there who just happens to remind him of Buck. No one will know about his desires, about his fantasies. Why not indulge himself.
Until I see you again by Demiwitchwoodwalker | @writing-is-hard-af (2025•T•13.2K)
“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” “I– Someone hit us. We were– We’re at the intersection of 2nd and C– Collins, I think. I don’t– I’m not sure. My– My name is Christopher Diaz, I’m 14. My dad’s in the front and– and he’s not waking up. I think he’s breathing but I– my seat belt's stuck, I can’t reach him, I– help us, please.” ------ Every word felt like another inch’s tightening of the noose suddenly around his neck. Eddie. Eddie hurt. Car accident. Eddie. Chris. Eddie. Chris. Eddie– Buck couldn’t breathe, couldn’t– couldn’t– but Chris needed him. Chris was– he was alone. And even though Buck was fracturing inside, heart cracking and breaking into a million small pieces in his chest, he had to keep it together for him. Eddie was– Chris needed him to tell him what to do, that it would be okay, even though Buck didn’t know if it would. Chris needed him to be there. Eddie needed him to be there for Chris, for him, if– if– if– ----- Eddie and Chris get in a car accident while they're still in El Paso, and who else would Chris call but Buck?
What If The Way You Hold Me Is Actually What’s Holy by icewhisper (2025•T•26.3K)
Eddie Diaz is twelve when he meets Javier Gonzalez at Pool Club and thirteen when Javier becomes his first boyfriend. He's still thirteen when they're caught and his parents send him to church camp for the summer. Twenty years later, he confronts the fact it was conversion therapy. Then, he begins to heal. (Featuring Buck being ready to fight the Diaz parents.)
Where the Light Enters by june_nights | @beecauseevan (2024•M•108K)
There's a beat of silence. A smile blossoms on Buck's face. It starts with a twitch at the corner of his mouth, then spreads inwards. He purses his lips, almost like he's trying to contain it, then gives up and lets it bloom into a brilliant smirk, crooked and devastating on his warm lips. He cracks open one eye, the left one. The smirk creases his birthmark. It's the same shade of pink as his lips, the same color as the lightning scar. "Oh yeah?" Eddie clears his throat and frees his own sandwich from its plastic prison. "Eat so you don't collapse. Save us both the trouble." He can still feel Buck's eyes on him. "I don't break that easily." Or: Chris is 800 miles away, and Eddie's house feels emptier than ever. As always, Buck is right there, ready to have his back, to catch him without hesitation if he falls. This is familiar, this is normal, this is the way they've always been. This is fine, until it isn't. Until Eddie finds himself drawn to Buck in ways he never expected—ways that might not be so new at all.

Fragments - The Rewrite (1)
Authors Note: Hey there chat. This is actually the author from 2025 vs the OG post of this fanfiction from Early 2022-2023. Thanks to my time off and my overall absence I have hopefully improved my writing. I will be improving the writing of this fanfiction before I continue writing it. Both to get a refresher on the plot and to better flesh some stuff out in the fanfiction itself.
To old readers wanting a bit of nostalgia and to new readers just discovering this dumpster-fire of a fanfiction of mine I hope you enjoy!
. . . . .
GingerBrave stood at the door of his home, holding his ever present accessory of choice in hand- his beloved candy cane. The day was already bright- though it was surely early. The door of his house was locked, as always. Something he made a habit after one of the times that enemies had gotten into the village. The memory was forever stained in the back of his mind- as if it were a shadow of yesterday.
The kingdom was small, but it was improving. There was always room for improvement after all- what was growing without change and hardship?
The day was bound to be simple and lazy- a dedicated time in the middle of the week for cookies to enjoy instances of leisure. Rest to their hearts content and indulge in things they enjoyed.
The sound of a hammer striking metal was heard in the distance- Avocado Cookie was likely working on something else despite the earlier hours of the morning. It was one of the things she did best, and when your passion was your craft- there never truly was a day off.
GingerBrave smiled to himself at the thought- before finishing securing his home. Plopping a key down between two sugar-bricks that made up his front step. It made him feel safer most days.
A joyful canter turned into a sprint as the child advanced in her direction. He laughed to himself as he called her name- making as much noise as possible for her to know he was getting closer. She seemed to chuckle to herself- throwing her tools down before extending her arm out- and waiting a moment longer.
Within half a second- the brave cookie was looped around her strong arm- his hands using it as a branch as he swung back and forth on the limb. "Hey Avocado Cookie! How are you doin' today?!"
Avocado laughs a little, before rocking a little bit, keeping the child on her arm for a solid minute or two. "Heya there, kiddo! How are you doing this morning?" she finally put the younger cookie down, before picking up her hammer and turning her attention back to the blue eyed boy. "It's a tad it early to be out n' about yet."
"Just got up! How about you? What are you doing?" he looked at Avocado's newest project, not completely knowing what it was. Inching himself a little closer to try and get a better grasp of the objects details. It seems that the older cookie noted this, the plus size woman gently put her hand in front of him. Putting his curiosity to a halt with a small shake of her head and a small wink to show that there was no ill intention in her action.
"No touching that stuff yet bud. It's still a bit too warm." she playfully warned, before giving the smaller cookie a few pats on the noggin. "I will show you when I am done, alright?"
A small playful pout worked it's way onto the boys face, and with a small huff-turned-laugh he gave in and physically sulked a tad.
"Okayyyyyyyy." the word was prolonged into a small whine, before he tapped his cane on the ground a couple times. "I am going to explore the forest a bit more to see if I can find anything interesting!" He tapped his candy cane on the ground- pointing toward the vast greenery that lie just beyond the reach of the kingdom gates.
A thoughtful expression crosses Avocado Cookie's Face as she remained silent for just a second or two. There was no discernable expression though it was easy to tell the apprehension based on the odd silence alone.
Finally, with a small gesture she spoke up, tapping the anvil she was working on with one of her other tools. Her face sported a smile- but there was more apprehension behind it. Well hidden behind a slight kink in her brow and her wandering eyes between the boy and the forest that he intended to explore.
"Hey, Hey! Make sure to go let a few of the others know you are going off to the forest kiddo. If someone is looking for you later, they can spread the word, I am not always out here." The woman moved her hand to adjust her goggles. "We don't want a repeat of what happened last time, pumpkin' "
"Alright. I'll go tell Mr. Almond, Herb, and Mr. Mint! Thanks Avocado Cookie!"
The kid soon ran off in the direction of the place Almond Cookie resided first. He was the first one that cookies usually went to if they wanted to know where somebody went. He seemed to have all of the answers.
-
It didn't take all too long to let the other cookies know where he was going. 20 minutes of running around the waking kingdom to let early-bird cookies know about his plan and e was golden.
Finally having accomplished what Avocado Cookie suggested, he was ready to head toward the forest. He could hear his heart in his ears and feel his blood pumping in his body. The thought of casual adventure was thrilling to him. Something that he would be able to enjoy with minimal consequences. Something casual. Free of responsibility and superior goals.
Knight Cookie, perched atop his usual steed stood ready at the gate with his sword in it's hilt. He lowered the obtrusion down over the water as soon as he heard someone approaching- unsurprised to see GingerBrave in his wake barreling toward him with energy.
With a quick wave and a shout of thanks to Knight cookie, GingerBrave continued to chase his chosen path into the forest. The path was less walked and far less familiar than most. However, that would be no problem to him at all. He had taken lessons from Tigerlily Cookie. Despite her broken English he understood most of it and it was great advice.
Speaking of Tigerlily, she might be sleeping now- she usually goes off to look for things during night-time hours. Perhaps being a bit quieter would be nice so he wasn't waking her up somehow...
Hardly a quarter-hour passes before he finds himself a bit winded for breath. It was a way to feel alive. Exploring such rugged terrain with low hanging tree branches and flourishing colors. Everything looks the same yet so different every time. There was nothing but respect from Brave Cookie for those who navigated the jungle and forest often.
His eyes were guided toward the Eastern end of the forest line- where most of the off-limits areas resided. No matter where one trekked there would be danger. It was unsurprising there were warning signs everywhere and a couple small noticeable traps.
Deciding against testing his luck- GingerBrave had guided his travelling direction somewhere between North, and Northeast. More-so North than the ladder.
The feeling of wandering was always something surreal. Something so magical and yet so merely simple. The ambiance of the life surrounding him at every corner was enough to make his head spin. Teaming with nothing but life.
His nerves, consumed by ever sensation seem to tingle a little bit. It's enthralling and exhilarating. Like breathing for the first time after holding your breath for so long.
As he continued to explore, he carefully avoided the many arrays of plants that Tigerlily Cookie talked about. Suspicious plants and strange critters that would be better off left where they came from. It was helpful information to follow considering he was out here by himself, and the least thing he needed was for something to go wrong.
The more steps he took, the more he got the tinge of something strange being afoot. However, these feelings would not be satisfied as there was nothing that even looked remotely out of place. Perhaps it was due to there being so much around him already. Every single stride made him feel smaller and smaller.
With his curiosity getting the better of him- Brave Cookie dedicated several minutes to poking around where he was. Soon, with the most modest of exploration- GingerBrave happened across a clearing. The location was adorned with lush green grasses dripping in dew that sparkled in the sunlight, chiffon yellow flowers blossom in patches within the delightful greenery.
It was a sight to behold, despite how simple it might seem.
Despite the endless nature to marvel at- there was something that caught the child's eye. There was something in particular that seemed to catch his eye- a stone podium resting nestled in the center of the field of soft flowers and other foliage. A carved rock of silvery sugar that was carefully tucked away in this clearing- something about it calling out to the adventurous pre-teen.
Venturing closer, there was a small hesitation at the oddness of such a structure in such a place. All thoughts quickly diminished by a spiral of curiosity. Initially, he wondered what it was and found himself almost wanting to touch it. Though he consciously rejects the idea in favor of another lingering thought. Perhaps he could ask around and see if there is any local rumors of knowledge of this thing...?
With a small turn of his heel- the boy made a mental note to revisit later. Maybe with some more knowledge he can find out if it's anything important. Though for now he had to prioritize finding another path to chase in hopes of encountering something less confusing.
With a steady pace, he backtracks a little and finds another path that he can follow to do a bit more exploring. A small smile formed on his face as he continued to fantasize about all of the possibilities.
Just out of view of the brave boy, there was a subtle glow. A light dusting of pink enveloped the pedestal as the child retreated away- magic pulsing around it as it seems to acknowledge the boys retreating form.
The glow seemed to deepen whilst also getting brighter- before settling down to no glow again once more.

She’d been in the city less than a week and already Caroline was breaking and entering. Her sheriff mother would be horrified. But Caroline was exhilarated. From the moment the sexy TA in her Drawing I class at NYU had handed her the course syllabus with his phone number jotted down in an elegant script in red ink along with a beautiful rendering of her swallow tattoo, everything changed. She’d escaped her small town to discover all the beauty the world had to offer and starting with a pair of dimples and a British accent seemed like a good place to start.
Klaus was exciting in a way that went beyond the usual bad boy she went for. There was no leather jacket, but he did have a devilish smirk and an anti-establishment attitude that was immensely appealing for a girl who’d raged against everything her bigoted small town stood for.
“Almost there, love,” he whispered, deftly sliding the thin blade of his pocketknife along the seam of the gate’s security keypad. Moonlight danced among the shadows, highlighting his beautifully sculpted cheekbones and Caroline’s fingers itched for charcoal to commit this exciting, sensual moment to memory.
She was impressed with the skill level he displayed, carefully uncoiling the different colored wires and disconnecting them from each corresponding terminal until the glowing green light behind the keypad went dark. He’s done this before. She had too, but breaking into the principal’s office or city hall’s trophy case was just silly high school pranks — rewiring a sophisticated alarm system for a sprawling estate was next-level badness. And she was all in.
The hollow noise of tumblers releasing caught her attention and Klaus pushed the iron gate open with a knowing smirk. “After you,” he challenged with a raised eyebrow.
Did he seriously think she’d back out? Scoffing, she carefully slid past him, sticking to the shadows the high stone walls cast among the manicured lawn. Eyeing the ivy-bedecked red brick and white marble columns in the distance, she snorted, “No one should hoard this much for themselves.” Nodding at the overdone architectural monstrosity, she added, “That’s bigger than my hometown’s city hall and high school put together. That kind of money could change so many lives, but instead they decided to build this tacky, godawful thing that would make the Real Housewives feel at home.”
“Yeah, rich people are...bloody awful,” he muttered, rushing her past a gemstone-encrusted mosaic with a gold leaf ‘M’ emblazoned in the middle. “But they do have their uses,” he amended, opening another wrought iron gate full of heavy scrollwork with a charming flourish of his well-toned arms.
“What uses,” Caroline asked skeptically, stepping past a row of wolf-shaped topiaries and letting out a gasp of unexpected delight. Ancient Greek and Roman statuary were posed throughout the elaborate rose garden. And even to her inexperienced freshman art student’s eye, she could tell they weren’t reproductions.
Klaus seemed to take delight in her stunned expression, leading her to a row of exquisitely carved statues as though he was a museum docent. “These are Roman copies of Greek works including the Three Graces and Eirene. Note the extraordinary lines these ancient sculptors were able to achieve with the most rudimentary of tools.”
“This is why you brought me here,” she asked in a tone of hushed reverence, exhilarated at being so close to so many artistic triumphs. If only she’d brought her sketchpad, she thought wistfully.
As though reading her mind, Klaus reached into his canvas messenger bag and handed her a sketchpad with an impish wink. Together, they moved to a gazebo positioned in the center of the garden and sat down to enthusiastically sketch by moonlight.
“This is unreal,” she whispered, an edge to her tone as she added, “Imagine growing up in a place like this where beauty is hidden from everyone except the spoiled, privileged few.” Pointing at what looked like another version of the Discus Thrower, she spat, “These belong in a museum.”
Klaus glanced up from his sketching, an unreadable expression on his face as he agreed with a hint of disgust, “Indeed they do. The owner of this ghastly estate bribed and threatened the curators and museum boards and whoever else he needed to obtain these priceless works of art from the Met, The Louvre, the British Museum, and any other corrupt institution willing to cater to his whims. Many famous pieces you can name actually are clever reproductions to cover up the greed of the shamelessly wealthy.”
Caroline was drawn to the fierce anger she saw in Klaus’ face, thrilled to have found someone whose righteous indignation matched her own. Threading her fingers through his, she chuckled darkly, “I don’t know why I’m surprised. Every day it seems like there’s some new, awful reality these people inflict on society.”
“Eat the rich,” he muttered with a grimace.
“Eat the rich,” she agreed, never realizing how absurdly hot that phrase made her as she pulled Klaus in for a thoroughly filthy kiss.
Their sketchpads fell to the stone floor of the gazebo with a clatter, Caroline hitching up the ragged hem of her jean skirt to straddle Klaus’ lap. She ground down on the generous bulge she found there until they both moaned.
He pulled back from their kiss to mumble against her lips, “I’m supposed to be teaching you proper shading techniques.”
“Mmm,” she groaned, playfully biting down on his earlobe. “I’m looking forward to you teaching me all sorts of techniques.”
Klaus seemed to abandon all objections as soon as she ripped off her thin tank top, her breasts spilling out of her favorite lacey pink bra. He was working the front clasp with clumsy fingers and Caroline was certain he’d resort to his teeth next.
A throat clearing on the steps of the gazebo made them both jump, stumbling into each other as they squinted at a blinding flashlight beam that was aimed at them. Squinting, Caroline could make out an imposing man with distinguished gray at his temples, dressed in what appeared to be a really expensive three-piece suit.
“Niklaus,” he sternly reprimanded. “Explain yourself now.”
Confused, Caroline stared at Klaus, whose gaze was determinedly staring at everything except her. Letting out an irritated, defeated sigh, he answered, “Hello, Father.”

Southern California is still on fire and we need your help
Today, it is January 10th, 2025.
In good news, the the Sunset fire is now considered inactive and all evacuations have been reversed. It only grew to 60 acres at it's peak. The Hurst fire has shrunk to over 700 acres and is now 37% contained. The Lidia fire is still at over 300 acres but it is now 75% contained.
Sadly, that is all the good news I have. The Palisades fire has grown to over 20,000 acres with 6% containment. The Eaton fire has grown to over 13,000 acres. To put the sheer size of these fires into perspective, Manhattan has an area of 14,604 acres.
Tragically, 10 people have lost their lives.
At 2:43 PM, a fire known as the Kenneth fire started near the Woodland Hills area. It is 1,000 acres and is 35% contained as of writing. Sadly, this fire appears to have started due to an arson attack. Police currently have the suspect in custody after neighbors performed a citizen's arrest.
This morning, CBS conducted an exclusive interview with LAFD Fire Chief Kristin Crowley where it was revealed that Crowley warned LA Mayor Karen Bass that budget cuts would hamper the LAFD's ability to handle fire emergencies. Crowley confirmed that the city defunded LAFD by $17.6 million, which included a $7 million decrease in overtime pay.
THE EATON FIRE
The Palisades fire has received the most attention from mainstream media after celebrities and high profile Angelenos evacuated the region. Pacific Palisades is considered to be the most sought after real estate in the country as it sits on the Pacific Coast Highway between Santa Monica and Malibu. We now need to shift our attention to the Eaton fire.
The Eaton fire started on Thursday, January 8th, near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive in the Altadena area. The city primarily affected by this fire is Altadena, home to over 40,000 people and is a mere 4 miles (6 kilometers) away from Pasadena. As of writing, it has burned to over 13,000 acres, has destroyed over 5,000 homes, with 0% containment.
Altadena has a large population of working and middle class families, particularly black families, whose families have lived in the region for generations. During the Great Migration of the 1900s, many black people fled to Altadena to escape the Jim Crow South. Octavia Butler, the world renowned author of Parable of the South, was from Altadena. As these Eaton fire continues to destroy the city, California is losing it's black history.
Do-Not-Drink Water alerts have been issued in Pasadena and Eaton Canyon as the Eaton fire has destroyed and contaminated the water pipes in the region as firefighters continue to fight the fires.
If you're able, please consider donating to the Gofundmes of Black families who have been impacted by the Eaton fires.
Please also consider donation to those have been effected in Eaton Canyon.
WAYS YOU CAN HELP
The Los Angeles Times has shared organizations that you can donate to included the California Fire Foundation. If you're in Southern California, this list also include mutual aid organizations where you can donate materials directly.
If you would like to directly donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation which will go towards emergency shelters, hydration backpacks, and wildland brush tools, you can do so here.
If you're in Southern California, please use the MALAN Fire and Wind Storm Resources spreadsheet to find mutual aid organizations near you and find places where you can donate or volunteer.
Finally, if you still have a Twitter account, please routinely check the app for Gofundmes from families who have been affected by the fires. Most Gofundmes are not listed on spreadsheets or official websites yet and many families are sharing them on Twitter. I found multiple has I was working on this post but I know for a fact there are more: (here), (here), (here), (here), (here), (here), (here), and (here).
Please continue to keep Southern California in your hearts. As the days pass, it has become increasingly clear that the damage being done by these fires is more than we can comprehend. Drone footage shows that Palisades has practically disappeared. It's now being estimated that these fires have done over $50 billion in damages.
Once these fires subside, Los Angeles County will never be the same again. Please continue to support us as we try to heal our wounded home.

Those Predictions are based on an Astrology Tool called Solar Return Chart.
✧₊⁺ Selena Gomez is probably going to move in with a lover this year. She can also have something that can transform her relationship, perhaps a proposal. Something is upgrading. She can also collaborate with some people when it comes to her career, but focus will be more on her family and personal side.
✧₊⁺ Timothée Chalamet is probably going to confuse people will his love life this year. Though, this will either be intended, or it will be because he is confused about what he wants himself. Will continue to be active in his acting career, but will also more rest probably this year. Though something can change in his relationship. He can end a relationship and start a new one, with someone who's hard working and perhaps also in the acting field.
✧₊⁺ Taylor Swift is going to work very hard on a new project, perhaps an album. This year is more about hard work, focus and busy schedule than actually releasing something. Potential hardships in her reputation coming too. Will also be more secret about her relationship. If she breaks up with current bf, she will have a secret relationship. Will feel more hated this year, and she can also have a fight with a friend.
✧₊⁺ Justin Bieber is going to be a father for sure. The baby is very important to him. But it seems like he will feel away from his wife? OR, he will feel spiritually connected to her. Not sure exactly, but JB is going to be more alone this year, perhaps also reflecting a lot on his life. Perhaps while reflecting more he will realize a lot of things when it comes to his role as a father and as a husband. He can also turn more into religion this year.
✧₊⁺ Hailey Baldwin Bieber is going to have hardships in her love life. She can be more private because of the baby, wanting more space from the public to spend more time with her baby. I think there is something changing deeply in her home life. Though she can post and talk a lot about how it feels like to be a mother and how it changed her life. A loooot of content on that. Being a mother will be her main thing this year.
✧₊⁺ Dua Lipa is also going to have more recognition this year, she can also have more success for a project, but she has a good reputation. She can also be more public about a relationship, officially going out together. There is a positive change coming. She is more focus on work this year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧₊⁺ Sabrina Carpenter is going to be more expressive about her relationship, perhaps also show her couple more. But she will def be out and more popular again. An era in her career can end this year too.
✧₊⁺ Billie Eilish is either going to be in a relationship, or in a sort of situationship. There will be struggles in it, or perhaps she will try again with someone from the past. OR it's someone she wanted to try with for a while and it's now happening. It can also inspire her in her career, or fast they will appear together. Is going to be more out and more active this year in her career. Also a big success coming!
✧₊⁺ Olivia Rodrigo isn't going to be too active this year. Perhaps is preparing a new project. She can also be more showy about her relationship, and talk more about it. Beginning of 2025, she can start to put out more a project in her career. It's going to be talked about a lot, but in a good way. A successful project. Her current love life can inspire her.
✧₊⁺ Rihanna nothing to say, she is veryyyy into staying with her family. Not sure she will get pregnant again this year, if it happens (still have 6 months in until her next solar return), it can be sudden. But im not sure tbh. I think she just loves to be a mother and is currently embracing this role. Next year she can talk she wants more babies. Or that she just loves to be a mom.
✧₊⁺ Ariana Grande is going to be very protective this year about her relationship. I think they can actually continue deeper in it, something will change, and perhaps people will also view the couple differently too. OR they can break up. If they do, she will stay single and reflect a lot on her own about it. I think she can also be truly inspire by her life experience to make more career projects and contents.
✧₊⁺ Zendaya will have a year focus on her career, success can be there. A good year for relationship too. She has chances to get engaged, but! It's a possibility, it can also mean it's just a good year overall for her love life. She can also post more about her lover, or just also post about the good news if it happens.

My Weirdly Embarrassing Love of Spreadsheets
This is gunna be a post about like, the nuts and bolts of making big projects like ongoing writing projects like this blog, but to get there I need to talk to you about silly stuff like journals and buses and spreadsheets. We get there, please, trust me.
One of the first tools I made for blogging was a table in my bullet journal. If you’re not familiar, a common thing to do with bullet journals (or ‘bujos’ as cooler or more tedious people than I call them), is to write up a calendar at the start of each month, something that lists what you’re doing through the course of the month. When I started doing this, I had a way to look at the month, that I could scribble on, so I did, and it meant I was able to get into the habits of putting an article on a game every friday and an article on a story every monday, resulting in my Story Pile and Game Pile series.
This was back in 2017, and the notebooks are in my bookshelf, each of them a record of a year that… huh, I could go back and reread.
Anyway, one of the problems that came up with this system was the bus.
Not kidding.
I would get a bus home from the uni most days. When I was on that bus, or when I was at the uni, I would have time to write, but I wouldn’t necessarily have access to my notebook. I found myself wanting a copy of the chart that I could manage on two different computers – my laptop at the university, and my computer at home. This is how One Stone got written, too, the trips home on the bus being when I wrote the blog posts that became the first chapters of that book, eyes closed, not looking at the screen, and focusing on the road to avoid being car sick.
It is wild to consider how much of my first book I loved writing I did with my eyes effectively closed.
In 2019, I resolved midway through the year that I needed a better system, and started on a system that would handle the transport between two locations better, for the year coming where I anticipated a lot of travel between two sites.
Ahem.
Yeah, uh, 2020.
Anyway, that it wasn’t necessary didn’t stop it being useful! That led to the creation of this Google Sheets spreadsheet:
I made this in Sheets because Sheets is like Excel, which I like using, and it’s like Calc, which I now use, because the version of Excel I pirated doesn’t have access to IFS functions. Point is, this sheet, as originally conceived, did not need anything as a spreadsheet to work; I wanted a table with 365 cells in it that could show the entire year at a glance and be given a simple, straightforward tick or cross. It became something more, as the years progressed.
I’ve been using this kind of spreadsheet now, for 5 years. In 2025, the spreadsheet looks almost the same:
Being a spreadsheet, it is an array of data. You can manipulate that. You can track data in it. You can use indexes. You can cocatenate things, and that’s the stage this spreadsheet is at now. When I sit down to work on a blog post, the first thing I do is not open up WordPress to pull at my drafts, it’s to instead open up this spreadsheet and look at when I have slots available, where my next upcoming gap is, and what kind of thing that gap wants.
Blue slots are story pile, green are game pile. I have all the video article slots pencilled in already with a ‘V,’ on the working version, so I can look at the line of Xes under each date and then see the point where oh, yeah, I gotta work on one of those spots. But see, also, in that top left? That number? The 0 is a count of how many blog posts have been set in place for the year, how close I am to being finished, or on track for the number of days in the year I’m at.
I try to keep the blog progress (blogress) at around 51 posts. That is not because this is the number I’ve decided I need or anything like that, it’s just a round number that makes me happy. Just being able to look at that number and see it being reasonably high? That’s a progress number. I could make it a progress bar proper, with a pair of graphs, but y’know, not worth it. I could make it a fraction too, like, the formula it’s doing over a “/365” if I wanted.
The thing that I’m most happy with though is the cell next to it.
See that cell looks like this:
='Topics & Ideas'!A2
And oh ho what is that?
Well that leads to this:
Here’s what this is: This is a whole spreadsheet of idea categories. Each category has at the top of it, a cell that looks down in the list for a random entry in that list and just provides it. For some things this is a long list of possibilities, for some things this is a tiny list of possibilities. But that is an index function – it looks randomly up and down the list and finds something. That means any time I want something for a specific theme, I can go to this sheet and I’ll see a random selection from these ideas. If I have an idea for a thing to write about at some point, I can jam that in the list, and know that it will eventually be exposed to me at some random point.
Then, at the head of that list, there’s the cell that also randomises the other cells along that horizontal line. Which means that any time I open this blog arranger up, I get to see a random offering of just… anything I could be writing right now. That list can include really broad things, like hey, write about an OC? and sometimes it could be really narrow and specific, like here’s a real event, you know about that one, you should write about it.
Now let me be clear: This is not a tool I recommend for everyone. This is a lot of elaborate effort I put into what is essentially, a producivity toy. This lets me produce a big pile of input and get a random output, and it lets me collect long lists or short lists of things and also, along with all of that, I can just get a periodic output from that list.
The original purpose for this chart wound up being unnecessary. I didn’t need to write on the bus any more. I don’t need to track the post count like this. I don’t need the randomiser. None of this stuff is in any way necessary.
But making this tool though, and playing with it, I have ways to engage with the project of this blog, with the writing when I can’t do that. When my ability to muster words has left me, I have still a chart, a tool, I have productivity items that I can work on. Sometimes just… fine tuning formulas is still working on it.
There’s this idea, maybe you’ve heard of ‘just do a little every day.’ Well, making it so there is a little you can do is really valuable, as part of that.
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!
