Hey there, sorry for a probably weird question but in this current climate I am anxious to write my story bc it may be misinterpreted. I liked your nuanced view on fandom/fiction matters so maybe you can help here too.
Does having two male characters who happened to die as a natural result of their dark, dystopian world (absolutely nothing to do with their relationship, just the circumstances), count as "bury your gays"? Do I have to remove the element of their relationship, like just have them as friends instead?
It sucks thinking about it now when this dark story served as an outlet for me, who is now going through a pretty bad time, but now I realized this and the fact that I have to abandon my project.
So, first off: I'm honoured you asked me about this, but I want to make one thing very, very clear. Both for you, and for any other writer who may be reading this.
You do not need permission to tell stories. You do not need permission to tell your stories the way you want to tell them.
You do not need my permission. You do not need permission from your friends, or your mentors, or your fandom. You do not need permission from the queer community as a whole. (God, can you even imagine?) You do not need permission.
Here's the thing. Most Trope Criticism is, fundamentally, about mass media. When a team of people with a budget that lets them spread a message to the entire world decide to tell a certain kind of story over and over, and that story makes a group of people into a tragedy or a scapegoat? If you're making a product for consumption, and the only thing you're letting queer people consume is dust and ashes while everyone else gets chocolate? Yeah, that can be a problem.
But you are not a team of people. You are not writing a story that is a product for consumption. Changing it to make it a product for consumption- changing it to make it more palatable to people who will complain about anything that isn't exactly to their tastes- is not an option that you can take. Not with a story like this.
You are making an intensely personal piece of art. It clearly means a lot to you. You deserve to get to put that pain and that darkness somewhere safe. You deserve to get to tell your story, consumption be damned.
So no, you do not have to abandon this project. You don't need to change it to make your characters Just Friends.
You should keep going, and finish your story the way that makes sense to you. Because you do not need permission.

As authors or any story based creators really, we have a very odd form of self-love. Like authors tear themselves apart and call every little piece a character and then choose to devote hours of our time writing their stories. Especially if you write romance or platonic love, in a way, a piece of yourself loves you. And characters aren't perfect, yet we still call them our favorite and love them unconditionally. Writing is an underated form of therapy is what I'm getting at.

CC creators not wanting conversions
Okay so I'm hearing this is going on lately and I just want to say something about it cause it's ridiculous bullshit. When the sims 4 first came out and there was no cc for it, you know what the first thing sims 4 creators did? They converted cc from the sims 3 over to the sims 4 and a lot of it was Newseasims hairs! Did most of you ask Newseasims if you could convert the hairs over to sims 4 or did you just do it anyway? I bet you just did it anyway. The point is converting items from sims 3, 2, or 4 takes nothing from you, it's still available for whatever game it was created for it and it' still within the sims. This is in the EA Policy, we don't have to ask you for permission to convert, reupload, share, change, remodel etc. so sims 4 creators who keep harassing people about conversions or shared cc need to stop. Unless you own the sims, no one has to ask you permission for anything involving this game and that includes converting/sharing content.
If you want to have full rights to your content, then by all means go over to second life where you have full control over who uploads or shares. I'm 31 years damn old, DO NOT message me about cc being converted, cause your ass is going to get ignored or it's just going to make me convert more of your content out of pettiness. Most of you still don't follow the 2 to 3 week rule for release on your content, I know when half of your shit is from second life or downloaded off some 3d site and put behind paywall. So please don't even bother. You guys take this shit way to seriously and it's annoying. it's a bunch of 1s and 0s and you're freaking out cause someone converted some pants over to sims 3..get real. Anyway the one thing I will still continue to do is give credit and never place behind a paywall...that's it. That's all you're getting from me..anyway good talk. So guys keep sharing and converting if that's what you want to do, don't let people bully you over a game.

If someone wants to give you art, what's the best way? Just @ you in the post or sending a message/ ask with a link?
Either way is fine! Mentioning/tagging me directly makes it more likely that I see the post, but that doesn't always work and sometimes I don't receive a notification even if I should. Sending an ask or a DM with a link is alright as well.
I'm extremely grateful for the gift art I receive and I absolutely love seeing my characters depicted in other people's styles. But I should mention that I can be very slow to comment/reblog. Not always but it's a thing I consistently fail at. I have some kind of mental roadblock that makes it difficult, it has nothing to do with the piece itself, I think it's a social anxiety/autism issue of some sort. I get emotionally overwhelmed or something. So if you draw or make something for me and it seems to take me forever to react, please don't take it personally. It's rude of me to keep people waiting but I'm trying my best with the limited energy, social batteries and time I have. You're always free to poke me a little bit and remind me and make sure I saw the post, I genuinely don't mind at all.

ive realized 90% of the people in the tags of that “would it be weird to send a platonic friend porn?” poll who voted “not weird” are defining porn as like. smut. or explicit drawings and stuff. i don’t think that’s porn i think there’s an important distinction to be made between erotica and porn and i think it’s weird that op who apparently also meant smut and not like porn videos called it porn. maybe im just too datedaheteroman pilled to read the word porn and think of horny furry art

[Drillet Doods #1] Hotspring Bath
Made by Researcher Serif, aka Cat
Créme & Mousse got themselves quite dirty playing in mud. You decided to kill two birds with one stone and clean up with the drillets so you could all relax in the hot spring you found earlier.
it certainly feels heavenly after getting a break from your other kids (read; your squadron).
This initially was supposed to be a simple doodle on how our resident human and the drillets were doin' but then the new update for Ovenbreak came out and welp, hot spring scene it is!
Anyhow, one thing's for sure; they're certainly doin' alright.
Hope u enjoy! _(˵^∇^˵ /) ͡ ゚☆
Also, here's a close up of Mousse bleping (˵σωσ˵)
