I love Pomme so much, her character development is one of the most impressive imo.
She was that lost little egg, sweet, loving to draw and build. But death was always nearby. The day of her birth is forever linked to her brother Dapper's first death. Bobby was confirmed dead two days later. Then the code attacked her repeatedly, she understood she was the only one with two lives and that all her siblings could die in a heartbeat. An anger and a fear grows in her. Fear that anyone might die again, and anger, thirst to take her revenge and end this threat once and for all.
So she took upon herself to become the main target. To put herself in danger so that the code would keep on focusing her. She was still afraid, but she became fearless, because she had no choice, she HAD to be the target, she HAD to keep the code's attention. So she grew stronger, she learnt to fight better, move quicker, think faster. The sweetheart little egg became a caring, protective sister, though for long being the youngest. She remembered the loneliness she felt before being found, and often said she wishes that to no one. So she would be frontline as long as it meant that no one would ever be as lonely as she was by losing their family. As long as they were safe, so was she.
Then Empenada, Pepito and Sunny arrived, and all the egges had two lives again! For a while, it was finally good time for the eggs, but a few of her parents were missing and her dad q!bbh is clearly dying so the worries and panick never truly stopped. But she had a new role now : being a big sister. And even though she didn't have her scythe at hand all the time, she kept on protecting, placing blocks for pepito at lucky ducks so that he has no risks to fall... She also tried her best to make them welcome, help them feel at home, and that was new for her.
And now, the code is back. Now, every one of her siblings can be target. Now, she cannot be there to be the code's main focus. Now, all the fighting skill seems useless if the code attacks her siblings and not her. Now, she feels as helpless and defenseless as she was before being found. But she has a family that she can count on. And she has this anger that fuels her to keep on going without hesitations. She didn't name her scythe Vengeance (Revenge) without reason.
So she put on her armor, goes to fix the Ninhos and she does what she does best: Protect.

hi so i watched the supergirl finale. and like. what the fuck guys.
that might have been the biggest queer analogy i've ever seen without it being explicitly stated. the whole talk where kara compares how she feels like she's been trapped, how she's been hiding and never living her authentic truth to alex feeling free and joyful with her wife.
the life she wants to have. the metaphors of her not feeling ready to come out. the constant parallels to alex's journey and her wedding vows resonating with kara so deeply. CAT SAYING "most of all, i hope you choose to become your full self."
TEARS. CRYING. LIKE HAPPY PRIDE MONTH??? I GUESS???
and then, AND THEN- out of every single person, lena luthor is the one she has her last conversation with. she is the one to support her, to believe in her, like she always has. lena comparing how both of them were always being told who they were supposed to be, the roles society set up for them, and how they both defied it by becoming friends.
no, because don't get me started with how lillian said in the very beginning of the episode to lena: "live your life the way you want to live it." the insane queer metaphors and parallels with her magic being programmed out of her as a kid because 'it wasn't how the luthor family was supposed to be".
lena turning to kara in that conversation, saying she's finally living her own life and it feels amazing, inviting kara to join her and go through and take on that journey together. kara wondering how it would feel like to connect with someone as her full self NOT KNOWING THAT PERSON IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER? lena just responding "i think it'd be empowering" WISTFULLY? i can't do this guys i sobbed.
like TF DO YOU MEAN "i didn't get to grow up to be the person i was supposed to be, and i think it's the same for you" and "i give people speeches on how to live their best lives, but i'm too afraid to live my own".
also, ain't no way they killed off william AND made mon-el come back JUST to confirm that ship was never becoming canon. the writers really said yeah, both of them will be the only people at the wedding with absolutely no other love interests except each other!!
finally, on a less serious note, in that last cat + kara conversation, the way she said-
"i just feel..."
"bi...furcated?"
and i was like LMAO WAS CAT JUST GONNA SAY "KARA, YOU'RE BI GIRLIE."
tl;dr: that was an insane show to go through, i can only imagine how the fans reacted, but man. queerbaiting's really something isn't it. i'm gonna cry and read more supercorp fanfiction.

I was rewatching s2 last night, and ohhh man mk looks over mei so much it's not even funny. times mei has been ignored:
maybe you need to really listen! (during the blindfold ep)
mk just? grabs stuff she's using out of her hands all the time? (video game ep)
maybe you shouldn't skip the tutorials? (video game ep again)
the way he addresses her in dumpling destruction and then immediately pushes her aside for tang
i honestly remember it lowkey kinda bothering me on first watch but now it's REALLY egregious on rewatch. are you scared? I'm so scared. do you WANT to end up like shadowpeach MK
2x03 is so rude because the whole fucking episode they're like "MK you don't listen" and it's so true. He doesn't. Pigsy literally points it out again at the end of 4x14 with the whole sun screen bit:
Pigsy: "Tch, don't bother, I've been telling him that for years but he LITERALLY never listens." Sun Wukong: "Yep! That's how we role."
-
THEY'RE SO FUCKING RUDE. "That's how we role." We. We????? Wukong and MK???? Like WHATEVER. FINE. (("I told you going against the Jade Emperor was a bad idea, but no. Wukong doesn't listen to ANYONE! He just does whatever he wants" Like shut up. Shut up!))
MK gets so stuck in his own head ("You're all stuck up in your own head! None of this is your fault!" +1 to the MK ignoring Mei counter from 4x08) and I think that really contributes to his s2 scramble to get more powerful.
LIKE:
MK: "Stop? Now? Never! I just have to try harder. It's just like the Monkey King said! *laughs manically* I just need to get stronger!"
(2x06 Game On)
VS
MK: "Why didn't he just stop, right here? He was already so much stronger than anyone ever needed to be!" Macaque: "Wukong didn't think so, he always felt he had to be stronger—more immortal."
(4x11 A Lifetime of Mistakes)
-
(Bonus thing between eps 2x03 and 2x06, look at 0:42 in this video for MK hearing Mei but not listening to her. Because of course that's what he would do. *head in my hands .png*)
The terrible s2 choices both Wukong and MK make in relation to their friends is just absolutely delicious after 4x11. Like, OH. This has been a lifelong pattern of Wukong's—paranoia is one of his fatal flaws (paired with his terrible communication and self-sacrificial nature), and while he had the power to stop LBD before he still feel's the need to go after the Samadhi Fire to stop her now, and to protect MK.
Hold on look at this parallel that I don't know what to do with:
Tumblr media
MK: "Ugh, I can't do it!"
Tumblr media
Mei: "It's alright MK—you did it before, you'll do it again!" Sandy: "Yeah! Maybe it's like Monkey King said: the power will come when you need it most!"
(3x04 The Winning Side)
-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MK: "What! But you said the Samadhi fire was the only thing that could stop her!" Sun Wukong: "I KNOW WHAT I SAID! But I've beaten her before I'll- I'll do it again! Mei was right—I need to stop dragging you into my fights, all of you."
(3x10 The Samadhi Fire)
-
Wukong and MK's reach for power inspires a lot of fear in me! It does! Because, well, MK's current reach for power is going to lead him to his Monkey Form, and uh:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I'm scared. I'm scared!
"All doomed to play a role in tearing this world apart!" ; "This is Azure's utopia, and this barren wasteland is the price he paid to build it." ; "I'd do anything for my friends! But at the cost of the world?" "I'm sorry pal, ain't NOTHIN' worth that price!"
Tumblr media
#I've said it once and I'll say it again: 2x06 is one of the MOST retroactively mean episodes#Game motif. The callback that 4x10 does. Whatever the fuck is going on with the MK and SWK parallels in that ep#I hate lmk's exchange theme I hate it. Like FUCK#Anyways#asks#wlw-wukong#lmk#lego monkie kid#lmk MK#lmk SWK#lmk Sun Wukong#lmk analysis#lmk theme: exchange#fuckasdfoqweg#Sandy saying ''Helping my friends is more important than anything in the world!'' in 2x08 vs#''I get it! I'd do anything to help my friends! But at the cost of the world?'' in 4x13 is SICK. SICK IT'S SICK#Sometimes it's like. Hmmm. ''If you aren't doing everything in your power to help your friends you are nothing!''#''I'd watch my sword shatter 1000 times so long as I used it to protect the ones I care about''#I'm telling you Mei would choose MK over the world. I'M TELLING YOU#MK'S ALREADY CHOSEN MEI OVER THE WORLD (thank you 3x10) AND PIGSY/TANG/SANDY OVER THE WORLD (4x02)#MK really went: ''Oh releasing this curse could end the world? Well I'll risk it for my friends!'' and I went ''ohhhh nooooooooo''#WE ARE IN SOME DEEP SHIT IN S5#And Wukong? Lol of course he's choosing the people he cares about over the world. No surprise there.#He's like ''yeah I'll go fight the jade emperor to finally be strong enough''. If eamk theory proves true he like#Chose MK over the world initially#And he was totalllyyy willing to sacrifice LBD's child host to protect his friends (MK)/the world#I'm. AUGHGHG.#''It's what he would do if he had to. That's the hard part of being a hero!'' OKAY BUT MEI WOULD YOU DO THAT SO EASILY IF IT WERE MK#ME THINKS NO#ME THINKS YOU WOULD NOT

Mel for the unhinged character bingo!
yessss YEEEESSSSSSSSS
Tumblr media
#ask me#so Mel is in the unenviable position of being a very strong character whose rights I support and whose wrongs I also fully support#BUT the way she's treated broadly in the fandom is so pervasive and so consistent and so frustrating to me that#I am in full -must protect my blorbo- mode with her at all times#-Mel's story is over so the only thing left for her to do is die-#-if Mel dies then J can get together with V and they will appreciate her for her sacrifice bc she died a hero who rejected Ambessa-#enough! enough I say!#what about proving to ambessa that she can take the throne for herself? what about the angst of defying her mother and her home country#and opposing those in Piltover who DO want war and want to raze the undercity#what about the magic that she's heavily foreshadowed to have and how it's different from hextech#and how it directly opposes but also parallels what is happening to Viktor#what about her -friends- abroad and the plot Mel was cooking through all of season 1 that has not been revealed yet#there's so much potential for her to have to confront the fact that J was slowly becoming a monster through season 1#and that she can't ignore the undercity forever#also what if whoever Ambessa says killed her brother comes after Mel too!#it is very frustrating to see Mel get dismissed as dead or evil or irredeemable or whatever when she is consistently#the most interesting person in the room in every single scene she's in and the character who shows the most conviction and change#so yeah i will take a bullet for her she is my blorbo I will despise any character who hurts her#and I would cradle her in my arms if she gave me a chance - which she would never! - but a girl can dream#however I also enjoy leaning into the idea that Mel is perceived as being a devil from the outside - Mel leans into it too when it serves#but it's in direct opposition to her ironclad values and the personality that she keeps hidden a layer down#I genuinely think that Mel will have a happy ending - or at least as happy an ending that an Arcane character can get lol#like I fully believe she will take the throne (Piltover) in the end but I can only guess at this point what that will cost her#I love putting Mel in situations but mainly to play with both how creative she can get and also how fucking far she will go to win#which is ANOTHER thing we know is probably true about Mel but has not been put on display yet#also Mel has already done a great job at separating what she wants for herself as a person from just being Ambessa's daughter#but Mel still deserves to get plenty of great therapy for that situation because OH GOD THAT CHILDHOOD FLASHBACK#also Kino is dead? maybe dead?? at least Mel fully believes he's dead so she needs therapy and hugs for that too#I am super normal about her can you tell

this guy is the main antagonist? with NO redemption? when he was just trying to be good enough for his father to love him like he did his other siblings? WHAT
mha spoilers ahead bc i lost my shit but several points to make here. 1) he's not the MAIN antagonist he's like. villain no.3 in the rankings imo but he's a BIG hitter like defo one of the first villains u think of when u think about the series 2) THE DAD DIDN'T EVEN LOVE THE OTHER SIBLINGS!!! okay todoroki trauma time: there's enji, the dad, rei, the mum, and then the kids: touya (this guy: goes on to become the villain dabi which literally means cremation. i hate everything. hot topic ass), fuyumi (invented eldest daughter syndrome), natsuo (loml), and shouto (youngest brother that got all the attention).
so in mha the abilities are called 'quirks' and enji's ability is that he's basically a firebender, and because of that, he becomes the no.2 hero, second only to all might, who he envies with every fibre of his being. he is DESPERATE to become the no.1 hero instead of all might, but his quirk is limited bc he overheats if he overuses his fire, so when he realises he can never individually defeat all might, he decides that his legacy will. so he get a quirk marriage, which is when u marry another quirk user with the sole ambition of selective breeding high-power quirks in your children. this is illegal. off the bat, the no.2 hero is breaking the law he is literally upholding and a representative of. he marries rei, an ice user, in the hopes of producing a child able to wield both fire and ice with the ability to balance one with the other. low and behold, his first child is born. touya todoroki, my fucking guy that is driving me NUTS today. touya has his father's flames and his mother's resistance to the cold, but NO fire resistance, meaning every time he overuses his fire, he burns the fuck out of himself. still, regardless of the pain his quirk causes touya, enji trains him from the moment his quirk manifests, which is like. age 5 im pretty sure. literal full ass AGGRESSIVELY ABUSIVE combat training for this 5 year old, and regardless of the pain his quirk causes touya, he puts his all into it because he literally just wants is to impress his father like all he knows is that he's supposed to be a hero he's supposed to beat all might it's what he was BORN for it's literally the purpose of his creation and why his dad is so hard on him, so he tries tries tries, but ultimately like i said, his quirk is faulty. so enji keeps having kids, all the while abusing the fuck out of rei as he goes bc he just treats her as a breeding machine and won't let her have any input on the kids' upbringing, but fuyumi and natsuo both come out with very weak quirks and no fire so he still puts most of his faith in touya until he's literally like eight like that's his entire developmental period being the One That's Gonna Achieve Dad's Dream Of Defeating All Might. and then shouto is born. shouto, who has the Perfect Quirk. shouto, who is one of the main characters from the get-go, who we meet LONG before touya is even MENTIONED, who is one of our big protag and set to be one of the top heroes of his generation. he is literally everything touya was supposed to be, and enji throws touya aside because of it. literally completely drops touya.
and touya HATES him for it and he hates SHOUTO for it even though shouto gets subject to the exact same abuse and indoctrination and 'you're no more than a quirk to me' bullshit from their dad like NEITHER of them were ever just kids ever just enji's sons they were weapons first and foremost touya is a complete parallel of what shouto could have become but didn't and when touya's fourteen it all comes to a head and he basically burns himself alive bc he loses control of his quirk and his dad isn't there and they forget he ever existed and shouto continues to shine while touya lives in the ashes and the criminal underworld throughout his teenage years and he does terrible things and when he shows up again it's as a villain and he's treated like nothing more than some lunatic monster and im just. normal amounts of upset about it bth.

You Weren’t the Criminal
NOT A PR0MPT
******
“I’m happy to announce” -Hero took a breath, a smirk tugging at his lips- “that Villain has been vanquished.”
A crowd interrupted in cheer on the television, then the news cut to a video clip of a body being pulled from the rubble of a fallen building. Villain, supposedly.
When the audience out of frame quieted, Hero’s face became solemn. “Our team wasn’t without casualties. We lost one of our bests.”
The people gasped. Hero swallowed.
“Leader. He was found dead at the scene- we decided…” Hero shook his head. “The footage will be shared when Leader’s family has had time to grieve.”
Leader was dead- that much was true, but only because Villain, who watched his tv in awe, was responsible for the collapsed building. Villain sure as hell wasn’t dead, and that body on the news certainly wasn’t his own. Hero wasn’t sharing the footage because the footage already shown was Leader.
Villain didn’t typically care about the people, but now, seeing that Hero was clearly up to something...he couldn’t do nothing, could he? Maybe he should embrace it. If the people thought him dead, maybe it was a sign to do differently. He wouldn’t get this chance again- to start another life.
Oh, who was he kidding? Villain enjoyed this life. He enjoyed sneaking through shadows, at seeing how much he could get away with, how long he could go without getting caught. There was an otherwise unachievable amount of pride in being the country’s, maybe even the world’s, most successful criminal- to go so long without being caught that the greatest heroes of all time simply fake your death in hopes of taming you. Truly, what did Hero think Villain would do with this news?
***
“Explain yourself.” Villain was curious, having not wasted another moment before taking off to Hero’s home. And yes, he knew where it was. He wasn’t a clumsy criminal, one so naïve to not know where his enemies’ bases laid. And a base could mean anything, whether it was the team of heroes’ homes, secondary jobs, childrens’ schools, partners’ jobs, etc..
Hero walked to his refrigerator. After scanning its contents, he decided on a steady beer. It was either that or water, and as Villain knew, Hero didn’t like tasteless things; it was what made Hero’s betrayal against Leader so shocking.
“Hey. I’m talking to you.”
Still ignoring him, Hero parked himself on the couch. No one would bother the two. Hero didn’t make friends and he didn’t have any partners, kids, or- if he had family, Villain’s research couldn’t find them.
“What was all that shit on tv about?”
Villain might have sworn Hero chuckled if he didn’t bare a pair of straight lips.
“You killed Leader.” Hero met his eyes now, and something about that gaze, empty and soulless, unsettled Villain.  He was unsure at first; the building had been destroyed by Villain, but that didn’t mean he was responsible for Leader’s death. Hero found Leader alive, and then...“Why?”
Drawing in a heavy breath, Hero allowed himself a smirk. He shrugged.
“I’ll tell everyone.”
“You’re going to go to the media?” Hero’s tone was bored, like he knew how this would play out, and knew everything Villain would say. Was it possible that he knew Villain just as well as Villain knew him? “After you’re finally free?”
With that, Villain scoffed. Free? He wasn’t a prisoner of anything.
“You are really going to make me spell it out for you?” All this time and Hero only just now looked to Villain for the second time. “You’re trapped. You think you have to prove yourself capable of self-sustainability and you found that trait in crime. I wouldn’t care”- Hero shrugged and leaned forward to grab his tv remote- “but you’re getting in the way of things, and frankly, I have an image to uphold. On the other hand, I felt merciful.”
“Merciful?” Villain scoffed. “You dragged the man I would have claimed I killed- your teammate- out of the rubble I caused, and you took credit, for not only the destruction, but my death as well. Where’s your mercy?” In other words, What the hell are you up to?
The sound of buttons clicking on the remote made Villain grit his teeth. Hero didn’t care at all.
“Bothered?” the hero asked. “Can’t wrap your mind around my motives?”
“I don’t think you have one,” Villain admitted. “I think you’re as curious as me.”
Hero’s lips split to form an amused smile, one glittering like a white wine beneath a fancy chandelier. It frightened Villain. “Maybe. Maybe it was entertaining to figure you would show up, only to find I was right. Maybe it was confirmation, seeing how quickly a crowd’s joy could be diminished by another death.” His smile vanished. “I was curious,” he said, “about the dullness in the peoples’ eyes, hearing about Leader’s death, as if they ever knew him to begin with. I was happier to get rid of him than to chase you around.” His lip curled. “You’re a dog abandoned in the freezing rain. Whining, and whimpering, and annoying.”
Villain still couldn’t understand. “You knew Leader.”
“Obviously.”
“What made it easier to kill him rather than tracking me?”
Hero answered easily, “You weren’t the criminal. You’re just a waste of time, so I killed two birds with one stone. Take out the actual shitbag, and give you redemption, or whatever the hell you want to call it.” He sipped on his beer, then nodded his head at the tv. A video was playing on the news, a tribute to the fallen Leader- images of him and his family, a young girl, an even younger boy, and his wife appeared on screen. “His wife hated him, you know?”
“She had two kids with him; couldn’t have been that bad.”
The news paused and Hero set the remote down. The still image on the tv was of Leader and his wife, smiling in front of a great oak tree. Someone stood in the background and Villain assumed this was an image of a friendly gathering of some sort.
“Look beneath her eyes. Cheap foundation to cover sleepless bags. Her cheek,” Hero noted, “has just as much color, you see? Her skin was always yellowed in the oddest places, and her voice was so quiet on the seldom occurrence she spoke.”
“He abused her.” Villain felt a knot in his chest, but nevertheless said, “But I buried Leader beneath a building. I could have killed him.” Didn’t Villain deserve death as much as Leader for his violent acts?
“Call it a difference in morals.” Hero’s eyes never left the image on tv; he stared, eyes sharp like a knife and simultaneously smooth like butter. “Leader was evil,” he said. “You are just lost.”
What compelled Villain to sit beside Hero, he was unsure, but he found himself sinking in the cushion, and staring at the same image as his once-enemy. For once, he didn’t want to destroy a random building, or rob some bank in a big-city. He swallowed. “What now, then?”
“We find another Leader”- Hero’s nostrils flared- “and we kill him, too.”

i do really love how your choices from other da games affect inquisition so much because it turned my warden and alistair’s love story into a horrible tragedy against my will
#alistair didnt want to be king so i made sure he stayed a warden like he wanted > i let him kill loghain > i wanted us both to live#so we could be together so we went through with morrigans ritual and both live > alistair is the warden friend of hawkes > the sacrifice is#between hawke and alistair which to me is an impossible choice that took me like. a good amount of time to decide and i eventually decided#to sacrifice alistair because i spent all of da2 with hawke and shaping him and i didnt want to lose him. so my warden lost alistair instead#and its soooo tragic bc i was abt to ask him about her and he talked abt her w so much love#*able not abt#and you can get a letter from the hero of fereldan and she says to take care of him and shes not going through all this just to lose him to#the inquisition. and its down to me to decide and i make her worst nightmare come true by having him stay behind#when talking abt my warden alistair had a line that was like when im done here we’ll be together forever this time and looking back it makes#me sooooo sick and sad bc they went through w morrigans ritual so they could both live and be together but one of them ends up dying young#anyway. the only comfort i get from that is that instead of the year they wouldve gotten if they didnt go through with morrigans ritual#they got ten so at least they had some time but i wish they had more but i couldnt bring myself to sacrifice hawke bc that felt too personal#and i didnt want to do it in front of varric bc he was in my party and i didnt want him to lose him in general and i couldnt leave anders#alone bc thats my baby and i went through so much to keep him safe and i will continue to do that#anyway its just so interesting how everything plays out depending on how you choose to play the other games#like im doing a full replay and im specifically making alistair king so he survives#and my warden is a human noble so theyll be married#r.txt

please explain ‘the sea is a drop’ and ‘letters sent in exile’
okay anon the dash is hopefully asleep now. this got kind of long so. explanation below the cut.
you see. sometimes you Perceive a hockey player. and you're like hm. this Compels Me. and then you proceed to put said hockey player into situations you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. out of love. so both these tags are uh. references to AUs that currently solely exist in the DMs (everyone say 'thank you bes' for quarantining me and my wretched thoughts away from the dash)
'the sea is a drop' is a line from a longer piece by adélia prado:
"Night! Make yourself useful and cover me with sleep. Me and the thought of death just can't get used to each other. I'll tremble with fear until the end. And meanwhile, everything is so small. Compared to my heart's desire, the sea is a drop." ― Adélia Prado, The Alphabet in the Park: Selected Poems
this is in reference to the two central characters of this AU learning to confront their own desires for their lives but also for each other. anything tagged with 'the sea is a drop' will likely have some sort of reference to desire / yearning / confronting your own wants / the mortifying ordeal of being known.
'letters sent in exile' is a reference to metaphorical letters sent between two characters while one of them spends several years in self-imposed exile, trying to heal from a super fun combo of life-altering bad choices + heartbreak + trauma + self-loathing + repressed anger. despite their years long separation, there's still a very real and very profound bond between them and they both occupy the other's thoughts in their own unique ways!
things tagged with 'letters sent in exile' will likely be more melancholic, or reference devotion, healing, deep and abiding love, regret, anger... it's a bit of a mixed bag.

you have a point about fandoms as a whole having a sexist lean but isn't mei is literally one of the most popular characters in the fandom and dragonfruit one of the most popular ships in the fandom? It's one of the top 5 most written about ships on ao3 if you remove self insert stuff.
So I'll preface this with I only have experience with the lmk fandom on tumblr.
But like, it's 90% shadowpeach stuff (with maybe MK as a third wheel). I know this, you know this. If you look through the "lego monkie kid" tag right now Ne Zha has more content related to him and only him than Mei does—she's usually gonna be thrown in with dragonfruit and traffic light trio (though, admittedly the lmk fandom has a problem of viewing characters outside of shipping in general). For every 1 Mei fanart there's 1 piece of Ao Lie fanart to match despite their vast differences in screen time. Like, am I insane? Am I insane for thinking it's the sexism?

Tim could not help but clasp his gloved hands together as he watched the faintly glowing, floating hero in front of him. Phantom looked around the small office with wide eyed curiosity, hair floating as though he was underwater, bright green eyes never staying in one place for very long.
Tim's gaze dropped back down to the paper that had been placed in front of him. It was very neatly organized, with numbers and bullet points. It looked like a lot of effort had gone into it.
Tim knew that Bruce would give his left kidney for this paper. Or for any hint to Phantom's identity. For someone who seemed so unreservedly open, Phantom was a complete mystery.
No one knew who he was, where he was from, when he was from (sometimes it seemed like he was from the future and sometimes he said things that was like he'd been in prehistory personally), or what his power set was (his most common response to showcasing a new power in front of the Justice League was a shrug and a, "I forgot I could do that"). He was polite. Tim hadn't come across a language that Phantom couldn't speak, although he could only read English.
Tim tapped the paper in front of him. "This is..." He trailed off. He didn't know how to explain how overwhelming this is.
"A set of contingencies for dealing with me if I should ever turn evil, yes," agreed Phantom. Calmly. Easily. As if he wasn't creating upheaval in Tim's mind.
Tim stared at Phantom. Phantom was still interested in his office. Well. In Red Robin's office. "Why are you giving this to me?" he asked. "Everyone knows that Batman's the one who has contingencies on everyone."
Phantom nodded, still not meeting Tim's gaze. "True," he acknowledged. "Everyone knows." Those bright green eyes turned to Tim. "But I don't trust Batman."
Tim opened his mouth to argue. To point out how everyone trusted Batman, even after a villain stole his plans and tried to wipe out the League. Everyone looked up to Batman.
Phantom's next words froze Tim's throat. "I trust you."
