Pride isn't about who you love. It's about who you are.
Who you are may include being attracted to the same gender. But it also includes straight trans people, aromantics, or anyone who wants to celebrate their entire queer experience instead of just their love life.
And when celebrating pride is entirely centered around celebrating love... part of the community gets put out of focus or left out entirely.

Wanted to try to make some alternatives to the ā€œIntersex & Non-binaryā€ (InterNon) flag. Not really sure which one I like best!Ā
Here is the original flag.Ā
Edit: added one last one and... I think it might be my favorite!Ā

urgent! help me move safely? part 2: electric boogaloo
update Nov 15: $535/$6000 goal
hey folks, i really, really appreciate everyone who has reblogged and donated!!!
butĀ this post has mostly lost traction and i’m really worried about being able to afford moving costs, luggage (i’ve been moving in garbage bags for 2 years), medical supplies, basics for my new place, and paying off the remaining cost of my accessible bed that won’t be covered by previous donations. i have a viewing with a moving company this week to see exactly how much it will be to move the contents of my apartment across canada (minus literally everything i can afford to get rid of), but i know it will be several thousand dollars.Ā
i also really need to buy an approved soft carrier for my cat and some basic enrichment items for her since she has been staying with a friend since i lost my housing, and winter clothes that aren’t full of holes - i am moving somewhere very cold in the middle of december. i will also be losing my disability benefits and although my sister is willing to help as much as she can, she is a single parent and struggling herself, and i am very apprehensive about how i will afford food and basic necessities, since i’m unable to work due to severely restricted mobility.
my paypal is disasterlux at gmail dot com, and my ko-fi is here
i have less than one month left to fundraise for this, and ANYTHING helps. thank you for reading!

anyway. the alienation from both being neurodivergent and nonbinary left me with a strong sentiment of inadequacy that I feel like I have to hyperengineer as an aesthetic and a quirk to be accepted because of my entertainement value.

Reminder that anyone can use neopronouns if they want! You can still use neopronouns if you’re cis or binary-gendered, you don’t have to ID as non-binary to use them! Use whichever pronouns make you comfortable; pronouns are a form of presentation & address just like a nickname or a clothing style!

hello nonbinary community
so. i have a question
i came up with a label for my gender and i've been wondering if this is already a Thing because...it feels like it probably is, but i haven't been able to find it anywhere
i identify as what i'm so far calling "selfgender". basically, my own personality and traits are my gender. i identify as myself
it's pretty much just "i think my gender is too complex for a standard label but i would still like to have a label for it"
i hope that makes sense??? i'm not the best at explaining things
so...does this already exist??
edit: turns out this is called "egogender" which is a sick ass name!!

It's almost the end of Disability Awareness Month and I wanted to share some positivity.
Literature doesn't give us many happy endings so I created Princess May to wish for some more disabled heroes and heroines who live "happily ever after to the end of their days," as Tolkien says. (Frodo and Bilbo are autistic. Try to change my mind!!!!)
Also I want you to know that I'm a safe person to ask questions about sexuality, gender and disability. I don't believe in stupid questions and I believe the only way we'll spread acceptance and understanding is if we create a safe environment for people to learn.
I really don't bite. You can literally ask me the most "ignorant" question and I will not judge.

Me: *asks my brother how to deal with dysphoria because he's also trans*
Him: *gives a literal good answer*
Me, three hours later: *wakes up, goes on tumblr, sees a post about a genderfluid lioness and frantically texts him "THEO THERE ARE TRANSGENDER LIONS*

nicer, cleaner version of a proposed alternative layout for the nonbinary flag, based on this and the trans flag
i’m suggesting the change for basically two reasons: emphasising solidarity and common ground with the trans community, and... aesthetics. i honestly just find this a lot more pleasing to look at
colour meanings are the same as ever: black for people with no gender or gender IDs defined by ā€˜absence’; white for people with many genders (simultaneous or fluid) or gender IDs defined by ā€˜complexity’; purple for people whose gender encompasses elements of both male and female; yellow for people who have a gender unrelated to the binary

That Trans Autistic feel…
…when doctors want to run medical tests that you know are going to set off your gender dysphoria and/or (typically and) sensory issues.
I’m not letting doctors put me in unnecessary situations that are going to be a undue stress on my mental health. They have to prove that these certain tests they want done are actually clinically necessary or I’m not letting them order them.
First, I have way too many tests run on me as it is. Too many doctors I have/had tend to order tests without really thinking if the test is actually needed to obtain the information they want.
Second, this is why I’m constantly reminding certain doctors that I’m a trans autistic so they don’t assume I’m just an average patient. I do actually have specific needs that need to be accommodated and will be accommodated.

is there a popular term for discrimination/bigotry against nonbinary people specifically??
bc like, i’ve heard of biphobia and lesbophobia but no term for nonbinary people
and it’s weird bc there’s DEFINITELY bigotry focused specifically against nonbinary people. i know of people that accept binary trans people but not nonbinary people
i usually use transphobia but i know not all nonbinary people consider themselves trans
i feel like nbphobia could be a term but idk how many people use that

Hey so March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility.Ā
To my Trans and non binary followers:
You are free to express yourself however you feel comfortable. Don’t feel pressured to transition. You are still trans/nonbinary if you don’t or can’t. Using non-conventional pronouns does not make youĀ ā€œdifficultā€ orĀ ā€œpetty.ā€ You do you and be proud. šŸ’–
Love your gender-fluid simmer.Ā

I love people who use unconventional neopronouns but sometimes I legitimately cannot tell if a set of pronouns is someone making fun of neopronouns or someone actually wanting to use unconventional neopronouns. Like are you making fun of us, or are you one of us?
