For years my mom has argued with me about her belief that Rick & Morty plagiarizes my early 2000s flash cartoon, The Fear Hole, about a portal full of monsters. Otherwise the two just have mad science, dimensional portals and goofy alienlike creatures in common but she thinks that's SO specific she wishes I would sue cartoon network. Last this came up I had to show her other examples of these tropes to demonstrate I didn't invent them and she was just like *eye roll* okaaaay sweetie I still think they copied you but I'll drop it for nowwww

Anyway now there's a Rick and Morty episode about a phenomenon called a Fear Hole, which is a portal full of monsters. And it's an easy coincidence but I am absolutely never going to hear the end of this now 😢

OKAY so,, this is sorta kinda a little thing I thought of after Fontaine's whole quest and having experienced Neuvillette SLOWLY.

Like I said, the Iudex is a man of lonesome, mysterious and yet attractive allure. So it's inevitable to find your gaze quickly catching onto the form drenched in the pouring rain outside- no doubt just the bad weather that's been tormenting Fontaine every now and then after Furina's descent as the God of Hydro. Perhaps it was due to the mourning the loss of a God, though you know not of the forces behind the rain.

In any case, the form of the man glowed but not particularly in an alienlike way, no. Instead, it was due to the man's white hair that stood out in the grey atmosphere... and also the fact that he was wearing formal attire out in the heavy storm. You noticed many passerbys - Melusines and people - simply turned a blind eye to this strange phenomenon.

The chill of the rain snuck up onto you, so without pondering for much longer, you rushed out with another umbrella, hoping to shield Fontaine's Chief of Justice from the unforgiving torrent. He was pleasantly surprised, you think, judging from the raise of his brows and the refocusing of his pupils, but who were you to decipher each and every twitch of his facial expressions?

"Monsieur, it would be bad if our one and only judge were to fall ill in this rain," you said, softly, kindly- you wondered if your voice was a lot louder than the crying of the skies, for the injustice that you did not know yourself. "Please accept this umbrella. If not for yourself, then for the Melusines that handed me this. They worry for you much like the staff in the Palais."

At first, you thought that the revered judge of Fontaine had turned to stone, or something like that. His eyes fell to your hands - if they were trembling from either the cold or just the nerves from speaking to him, he couldn't tell. But you were only human, unable to withstand the freezing temperature from both the rain that stuck to your clothes and the heat loss that comes from the adrenaline. For that, he removed the thoughts that were unnecessary - it is because you are human that you care for another, even if he was immune to the cold, and bowed his head wordlessly, politely so.

"Thank you," apologetic, his words voiced. For being the reason that you had to brave the storm just to save him from his troubles that rained down and weighed his clothes. Yet it is the very same downpour that soothed his being, bringing him back to his element. His eyes tracked back to your face as he retrieved the opened umbrella from you, as if searching for an answer that satisfied a lonely part of him.

Flustered, for what you didn't know, you smiled crookedly. "Monsieur, if you'd like to stay out for a little longer... If that's what you want, don't let me stop you." And perhaps that was the first time he heard that, because he reacted as if it was the first time it was said in his company. You continued, "the rain washes away my worries, even though my concerns are trivial and minor compared to those of higher ranks. Perhaps all you need is something- someone out there to carry your burdens for you. Y'know, let every droplet take your burdens away and cleanse your mind."

He needed no more convincing, and so stay in the rain a little longer, he did.

Thanks to Shadow Generations I have a headcanon in mind:

Consider Anti Shadow have Doom powers or whatever alien race he gets mixed up with.

Consider how Anarchy Energy is unstable and has detrimental effects to the host. If Gerald had intentions to make him the ultimate weapon then you must use the most harmful and powerful energy known to man, host be damned.

If he changed his mind at the last second then he must’ve created some support for Anti-Shadow to not experience these dreadful effects. It’s possible it breaks at some point post morph.

What if this ‘sweet’ hedgehog gets more drained and closer to death each time he morphs or suffers mutations beyond repair?

OKAY, you know what I’m considering is that Anti-Shadow would have more alien characteristics than Shadow. Extra eyes, those suction cups for octopuses or something I DONT KNOW ABOUT HOW HE WOULD LOOK I’m dying

Anyway, I like your idea. Originally, he would’ve been MUCH more alienlike than hedgehog, but overtime began to look less like an alien due to morphing.

Personally, I feel like he would be much more royal-like and chatty? Apparently Anti-Maria would’ve been evil and a bad influence. So perhaps, Anti Maria would’ve been bitter and sad, still suffering from a disease. She would’ve used Anti-Shadow’s admiration for her so he could reign havoc and destroy humanity. Like what Shadow thought Maria’s wish for him was, except there was no Memory alteration. Anti-Maria’s wish would’ve been SA2 Gerald’s wish.

Anti-Gerald probably schooled Anti-Shadow on good morals, so there would’ve been a battle of morals in the future.

ALSO, I think Anti-Shadow probably went on a rampage on the Arc, causing him to be contained for (woah) 50 years, only to be released and wanting to destroy the world.

Kinda like the SA2 plot, but instead of Scourge saying “Hey, let’s not destroy the world, you can be better.” (Like whatever sonic said) and instead says. “Listen, you’re powerful and destructive. But why destroy world when you can RULE it? Work with me here.”

also (IM SRILL THINKINF WAIT) there could be a parasitic relationship between them? Anti-Shadow would be a bit unstable when using, for example, anarchy (chaos) blast or chaos control. I see him as he would absorb others of their energy, while Shadow has a constant flowing energy, Anti would need to constantly resupply. Using up all of his energy would kill him, but also using too much in one go would. So, he carries around some anarchy beryl for his own good.

I think he thinks Chaos Energy is tasty, much much better than the bitterness of the Anarchy.

also he’s probably insane at sometimes due to the negatives of the anarchy beryl so he’s alot more violent than Shadow
