you were quiet; really quiet. you’d mumble your thank you’s, whisper apologies, and generally go out of your way not to interact with people as a whole.

I feel like that gentleness/softness would almost draw hobie to you though?

he’d definitely first meet you as spider-man; saving you from some sort of robber or attacker. and then he’d see you be so shy about thanking him and apologizing as if it was your fault??? he finds it sweet but also kinda concerning for you tbh

and over time he begins to notice you more and more during his patrols; something about you just draws him in.

he definitely likes that you don’t try to tell him or others what to do lol

after talking to you enough as spider-man, and you start to open up, he begins to like you even more

you listen to some of the music he likes? your humour?? not to mention how genuine you are???

(also very useful if you happen to be a “mom friend” type who keeps first aid, candy, etc on you at all times!! he’d definitely appreciate a lollipop to help with the pressure changes while swinging around or a bandage for his cuts)

speaking of which if you ARE the type to have those things on you he may start seeking you out if/when he gets hurt

and after that even when he’s not tbh he’ll just pretend to have a headache and eat some of your candy on your couch lmao-

one time though he comes with wounds a little too serious looking for the standard wet cloth and bandaid treatment you had been used to; and it scares you

you raise your voice a bit louder than he’d ever heard, in a scared tone that was different than your normal anxious voice, and you tell him he should probably definitely go to a hospital

“but I like you so much better” he leans in a little too close, holding on to you a little too tight to keep himself steady, and you suddenly realize the reality of you situation

spider-man is in your living room. he’s bleeding a lot. and you’re the first person he thought to come to; because he likes you? not like that obviously- unless it is like that? NO. people barely even notice you, no one would ever feel like that type of thing for-

“you’re staring” you can feel the shit eating grin on his face; it’s practically burning through his mask

you stutter out an apology and after stammering around for a moment you get him to sit down and do your best to treat his injuries

you can tell the disinfectant stings by the way he flinches whenever you apply it, as well as his teasing that he “thought you were supposed to be nicer than the nurses” but he does his best to sit still and let you dress all of his wounds

you both remain still for a moment, and you think you can feel his eyes on you but you’re too scared to look up. your hands are shaking; they have been this whole time.

Once again my mind is plagued with Sideshow Bob brainrot and I must infodump about him for a bit to clear it. This is a sorta continuation of this post where I ramble about how prison warped Bob’s personality. While I often consider doing a more structured series of Sideshow Bob reviews, I have nothing concrete planned at the moment, so posts like these will remain sporadic. However, I am rather open for more discussion with those who dare ask.

The focus today is on Sideshow Bob’s defining character trait.

There are many popular labels used for Sideshow Bob that fail to paint a full picture because the very opposites of those aspects are also true to his character. Highly educated with a great capacity for idiocy. Sophisticated with bouts of unhinged rage. A mastermind whose plans never work. A murderous psychopath who’s never actually murdered anyone and has attempted to reform. A villain who has saved the day, more than once. A failure that never gives up. All of these apply but I feel he has a more comprehensive character trait. One that remains true in every appearance, exemplified in all of his actions and downfalls. Above everything else, and I say this with the utmost affection, Bob is an attention whore.

Bob needs an audience like he needs air to breathe. All the world’s a stage and he lives to perform. He's pathetically desperate for your reaction, whether it’s praise, scorn, fear, or a laugh. He’ll sing, act, tell jokes, contort his body, or share the details of his cunning scheme with you, even if it jeopardizes everything he’s worked for, in exchange for a fleeting moment of recognition.

He wants to be seen, heard, known, understood, celebrated. Don’t we all. But his craving for validation can never be satisfied, which led him down this road of suffering. In the flashback in “Brother from Another Series”, during the sidekick audition, Bob looks a bit more composed than usual.

This is the earliest moment in his life that we witness. He’s hiding all his iconic hair in a hat and presents himself with dignity and poise; is this where he gets bit by the acting bug and everything changes for him? Doubtful, since his mother is a famous actress and he probably grew up in a home that valued the arts. I think he might have been repressing a lot of his more comical tendencies at this point, then unleashed them due to an unexpected pie to the face. Bob is angry at first, but within seconds relishes having an audience’s approval. All it took was Krusty calling him a “genius” and Bob’s fate was sealed. In “Krusty Gets Busted,” it’s up to interpretation if Bob genuinely wanted to solve Bart’s problem out of the goodness in his heart, or if his ego demanded that he prove to his audience what a good role model and host he can be. In” Sideshow Bob Roberts,” he charms everyone in town with his silver tongue, but is still so insecure about how he’s perceived that he feels he has to cheat to win the election. In “Cape Feare,” Bart compliments his voice and he’s all too eager to boast his musical talent. In “Sideshow Bob’s Last Gleaming,” being called “smart” is enough to let his guard down.

He needs constant reassurance that he’s smart, talented, and loved. I believe that in “Black Widower”, Bob’s courting of Selma wasn’t a ruse, at least not at first. They probably had nothing in common (certainly wouldn’t bond over media taste) except that both were painfully lonely. They fell fast in what they thought was love because they showed each other the slightest bit of affection, then opened the floodgates of built up feelings that had nowhere else to go. But realizing there would always be another man in her life more important than him, MacGyver, any love Bob felt towards Selma evaporated.

Combine this pettiness with his freshly warped sense of morality courtesy of Springfield Penitentiary, and he would find this sudden violent hatred justifiable. But everything has to be a spectacle with Bob, so of course he would end things with a heckin’ fiery explosion. As we have established, Bob is prone to self-sabotage. He can be unbearably pretentious, so he struggles finding others that share his passions. But Bob isn’t a gatekeeper for these interests. He would love nothing more than to discuss art, music, literature and theater and convince others to appreciate them as well. He has a desire to teach, and finds fulfillment when he helms his own educational program with an audience willing to listen and cheer him on. He doesn’t have such luck with his peers, who tend to throw his books back at him. In the episode “The Man Who Grew Too Much”, Homer mentions Mozart’s name and you can tell Bob is ready to drop everything and gush about a special interest, but Homer then reveals that he doesn’t really care. So imagine being in an incredibly niche fandom with no one but the void to hear your headcanons or fan favorites. That’s Bob's predicament, but he’s persistent (and maniacal).

Little brother Cecil is similar, but he’s more likely to back down when the audience doesn’t indulge him.

It is left to our imagination what their childhood was like. Their mother might have encouraged them both to pursue theater, but did either of them ever feel pride in their accomplishments? Is there a reason Cecil gives up and Bob can’t be stopped? Perhaps Bob leans into the villain role because he’s convinced himself he was born for it (give him credit, he does play it cartoonishly well), but when the tables turn he’s equally as enthusiastic playing the part of a noble hero. He seems unable to turn off the dramatics either way. There have been a few moments when he admits he does not want to commit to a violent act, and you could argue it’s because deep down he knows he’s playing a character that he's taken too far and that it isn’t his true self, or maybe he's horrified his true self is a monster and he’d rather play a different character as a means to contain it (I am not referring to moments from “Day of the Jackanapes” or “The Great Louse Detective”, moreso “The Man Who Grew Too Much”, “Gone Boy”, and “Bobby It’s Cold Outside”). His instincts during these moments seem to be to run away.

But Bob can’t live secluded in his lil lighthouse forever, even if it means no one gets hurt and he would be free. Prison made him crazy. Isolation would destroy him.

✧ How do you deal with bad moods? Do you get them often?

It depends on the emotion accompanying the bad mood. If it's something sad or upsetting, I listen to music and cry. If it's something that induces anger, I write poetry to vent. If it's just a bad mood with an emotion I can't identify in that moment, I put it into writing to analyze it objectively. There are times when I can write a lot if I'm in a bad mood, and other times when I'm so distracted I can't put anything on the page. Sometimes I look at photos that I enjoy (or photos of my favorite characters) and it cheers me up!! In some cases, if it leaves me particularly distraught, I distract myself with academics or other tasks that require more logical thought.

I don't usually get bad moods often, but if I'm very stressed, overworked, tired, or a combination of all three I'm prone to feeling bad. >_<

✧ When was the last time you laughed till you cried?

It was a conversation I had with my mother in which something funny occurred during it and we started laughing. But then we couldn't stop laughing and I was crying because it hurt to laugh so much lol.

✧ How well do you take care of your health?

Most of the time, quite well! I eat healthy and exercise every day, and I tell myself many kind words to keep myself motivated. Although sometimes I neglect my health if I become too busy with academics or I'm not feeling well physically or mentally. ;;;;

✧ What's something you would do if you had an extra hour in the day?

Nap!!! I would use the extra hour to curl up in bed and recharge.

✧ If you had a million bucks, what would you spend it on?

Travel!!! Also buy lots of merch from my favorite things and more pieces to add to my lolita collection! The boring side to this answer is that I'd also use it on basic necessities and whatnot.

✧ What's your biggest insecurity and how do you deal with it?

Social anxiety. I deal with it by being,,,, very social. I work jobs that have me constantly interacting with people and I talk to my classmates and professors. The irony to it is that I genuinely enjoy talking with others and I'm very friendly and chatty, but sometimes there's a part of me that becomes wary and anxious.

I adore potato and cheese croquettes. They're so delicious. orz

Okay, but as any long-time reader of this blog knows, I’m a huge fan of polyships! I chose my favourite polyship for Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun, which is Balam/Reader/Kalego, and hope you all enjoy the headcanons, based off this prompt!

Who’s the cuddler?

Okay, but it’s obviously Balam. Kalego is not a physically demonstrative man, not even in private. That’s not to say he’ll never show you any physical affection, just that it’s not a common thing for him. Balam, on the other hand, is very physically affectionate and craves physical closeness with people. In any relationship, he’s going to up that ante even more and physical affection, both in public and in private, will be a huge thing for him.

Who makes the bed?

I feel like Kalego does. He likes it if either you or Balam offer to help it, because it goes quicker but he’s definitely the one whose first thought after getting up is to make the bed. He not only appreciates but almost needs a clean, neat space to live in.

Who wakes up first?

Both Kalego and Balam are early risers. It will switch every now and then as to which one of them wakes up first but it’s almost guaranteed that unless you’re an extremely early riser, both men are typically awake before you.

Who has the weird taste in music?

It’s gotta be you. Balam does appreciate music but honestly doesn’t listen to a lot of it. Kalego’s tastes in music are very limited, and he prefers classical or instrumental pieces.

Who is more protective?

While both of them will be protective of their loved ones, Shichirou tends to be more aggressive and open in his protectiveness, with lectures if you put yourself in danger and downright bloodlust towards anyone aiming to hurt you. Kalego is more low-key in his protectiveness and does his best to trust that you can handle yourself, almost letting you test how much you can handle in terms of danger, but he’s actually probably the more protective of the two of them. It’s just that he’s quieter about it.

Who sings in the shower?

It’s Balam and boy, is he horrible at it. Does he love doing it? Yep. Does he kind of sound like a strangled duck while doing it? Also yep.

Who cries during movies?

It depends on what happened in the movie. While he rarely outright cries, Balam’s eyes will definitely mist up if an animal dies or is abused on screen. It makes him sad and just a little angry. For anything else or for outright crying, it would have to be you, if you do. Kalego rarely watches any movies and even during the most heart wrenching of moments in the ones he will watch, he can remain stoic and stone-faced.

Who spends the most while out shopping?

It depends on if Kalego is with them. He’s not miserly but he is very good at budgeting and setting limits on what’s spent while out on a shopping trip and he’ll keep both you and Balam to those limits as well. This especially applies if all three of you are living together because Kalego will kind of naturally become the one in charge of keeping track of all the financials for the household and will know exactly what can be spent without hurting the household financially.

Who kisses more roughly?

It’s Balam, but he genuinely doesn’t mean to. He wants to be soft and gentle, and he tries really hard to be. It’s just that kissing is a bit rough with his facial deformity to begin with and, even when he is careful about his extreme strength, he can tend to forget himself in the happiness of that physical affection.

Who is more dominant?

It’s Kalego, bar none. While Balam can be dominant at times, especially if he knows his partner is into that, he does hold back a lot because of his strength and is just as happy to let you take the reins. Kalego, however, is a bit of a control freak in his daily life and that tends to extend to his relationships a bit too, sometimes to the detriment of the relationship.

My rating of the ship from 1-10?

10 out of 10, would recommend. I love both of these men so much and would happily become a bigamist to have a happy, odd little marriage with these two!

Angels of Digitalism

I have the Rock Star AU y'all ordered! Changed it a little to explain why Soap is interacting with them. Will do a part 2 if asked. Very heavy on the GhostRoach

Soap saw the ad and almost flipped. Simple ad honestly. Digital artist needed. Decent pay but there was a line that said they would be open to negotiation. All of that was interesting sure. 

But the thing that drew his attention was the name of the band asking. 

Angels of Digitalism. 

His favorite fucking band was asking if someone could help them with some digital art. 

Something he did all the time!! He was looking for jobs right now and this was perfect. 

Soap applied immediately and almost immediately got a reply back. A little surprising just how fast they responded. 

“Can you get transportation to this location?” He followed it up with an address. 

Soap checked the distance. “Yeah, it’s not too far.”

“Good. Be here as soon as you can. Like…. Right now.”

“Oh! Okay!” Soap rushed to get dressed. He tried to find some of his better clothing that followed the aesthetic of the band. Ripped jeans and a black t-shirt. After some thought, he decided to do a plain one. He didn’t want to wear a band shirt in case it came off weird. Wearing one of their shirts may seem obsessive but wearing someone else’s may be off putting. A few minutes later and he realized maybe he was putting a little too much thought into his shirt. 

Soap rushed over there and while in the car, he thought over the band. So on paper, there were three members. Ghost, the back up vocalist and guitar player, Roach, the main vocalist, and an unknown masked member that goes on stage and fucks with a computer occasionaly. All of them wore masks, covering all of their faces but occasionally letting their hair down, but the third member didn’t even have a name. There were also drums and other instruments, but they weren’t done by a person, but by algorithms and bots. It was part of the appeal. A mix of techno and old style punk that was the whole point. Soap genuinely loved the music, but there was also the performances. It made sense that they’d need a digital artists. A lot of it was based on lights, colors and costuming. Well… So were most performances Soap realized after thinking about it for a minute. But he loved watching their concerts. 

The two of them danced so well. Both of them being so attractive did not hurt. During the last performance, Roach had been shirtless and he did some… Soap had watched Magic Mike and that had been the closest thing he had seen to the dancing he had done on Ghost, all while he continued to play guitar like nothing was happening. 

Also, there was occasionally a person that appeared. It was always confusing because they could never be photographed but 

Soap already knew he didn’t really have a chance. He was not going to be the y/n in a fanfiction who gets either of them. Let alone both of them. 

He got there faster than he expected and rushed out so he could go inside. 

There were two men standing out front. One of them looked… vaguely like Ghost. A little smaller, but he supposed the stage may make him look bigger. The other could be Roach. A little bigger, but… stage stuff. 

Yeah. Stage stuff. 

The smaller one was Hispanic and had a grey hoodie on while the other had a long sleeved tan shirt on and jeans. Both smelled like cologne, but the taller one smelled like he drowned himself in the stuff. 

“Hey.” The American accent out of “Ghost” caught him off fucking guard. “Soap?”

“Yeah.”

“Cool. I’m Alex. This is Rodolfo.” Neither offered their hands to shake so Soap kept his by his sides. 

Soap nodded. “Ah. Little surprised you guys told me your names.”

They stared at him blankly before Alex laughed. “I’m not fucking Ghost. He’s inside. Still wearing a skull mask. Roach is also inside. I’m just the guy running the computer.”

“Oh…”

“I’m their manager. You think I look like him? He’s a twink.” 

Alex glanced at Rodolfo and motioned to him. “I mean… aren’t you also a twink?”

“Get fucked. Anyway, no. I’m not Roach.” Rodolfo sighed. “We have a laptop that’s hooked up to the backdrop. Anything you draw on the laptop appears there. We need you to design some things. Also, do you do traditional art? Like painting and stuff?”

“Yeah.” 

“Cool. We’ll double your pay to also paint the backdrop. Three colors that correspond to the lights. Each disappears when a different light is on.” Rodolfo started to walk and Soap quickly followed to keep listening. “You paint the stuff. You made the designs. We have three weeks to do.”

“What designs do you need?”

“Ghost and Roach will tell you. Basically they’ll show you the routine and you design something around it. They seemed pretty excited about this one since Ghost won’t be playing the guitar.”

“Oh? Why won’t he be playing?”

“Injury.” 

Soap stared at him for a moment before realizing he was being serious. “What?”

“Injured his wrist so he can’t play.” Rodolfo looked at him.

“Won’t that prevent him from performing?” 

“Oh, it’s fine. It’s not in a cast.”

Soap frowned and just vaguely nodded after a minute. “Yeah, okay…”

“Anyway, come on stage.” Rodolfo stepped up on to the stage and Soap followed. Silks, like those from an acrobatic performance, were hanging above them and there was someone wrapped around them high above their heads. 

“Roach. Come down and meet Soap.” 

Soap looked up and watched him spin down, twirling and he tangled the silks right before he hit the ground. 

Okay, that was the exact size he expected. Roach only had a medical mask on. He had medium brown hair that fell around his ears and bright green eyes. Right now, he only had sweatpants and socks on. 

Yeah, definitely a twink. Though he was toned. Probably from his performances and constant practice. 

“Nice to meet you.” Soap kicked himself for his awkwardness but also was happy he didn’t stutter. 

Roach looked him up and down before meeting his eye again, just staring. 

“My name is Soap. Like Rodolfo said.” Soap tried, feeling a bit awkward.

“He won’t talk.” Ghost, he could tell by the fact that his voice was both really deep, gravely and clearly from Manchester, spoke right behind him. Soap definitely did not jump out of his skin. He glanced around but Rodolfo had disappeared. 

“Oh. Like a pre concert thing? Makes sense.”

“No. He’s mute.” 

Soap frowned. “I… I feel like I’m missing something.” 

“He can’t talk. Is that a problem?” Ghost growled at him and Soap looked up at him. 

Oh. 

He was a little scarier up close. Tattoos went all the way up his arms and he had his skull mask on. 

“N-no! Not at all! Just how do you guys… sing?”

“He uses a vocaloid. Obviously.”

“Oh. Yeah, no one knows that.” 

Ghost laughed for a second. “Seriously?? No one?”

“There’s an entire conspiracy theory about it actually. Because his jaw doesn’t move.” Soap glanced at Roach, noticing he was blushing. For a second, he thought he may have embarrassed him before noticing that no, he was just laughing. Roach looked at him, clearly smiling and happy and Soap started to feel flustered. 

Ghost hummed. “God our fans are stupid. Im retiring.”

“NO YOU’RE FUCKING NOT SIMON.” Rodolfo screamed across the venue. “PUT WAY TOO MUCH MONEY INTO THIS. OUR LABEL WOULD KILL US.”

Soap frowned. “Man i really thought it was just the three of you guys…” So his favorite band had more hands on deck than he thought. 

“Nope. Anyway, since Rudy left, I will show you where to go.” Ghost showed him the laptop and both him and Roach watched over his shoulder. Soap quietly opened it, deciding not to bring up how unsafe it was to not have a password. 

“So what did you guys want me to do?”

“So we’re going to have lights flashing on and off that will change the coloring. We’re going to be covered in different paints so there will be tons of color. We need a background in black and white that’s going to follow us during our routine.” 

Soap nodded. “Let me see your routine real quick. I want to draw the lines of movement so that I can make sure I match it.”

The two of them nodded and a second later he heard music he didn’t recognize. Before he could get excited at potentially hearing brand new music, he realized it was Mitski. 

They practiced using Mitski. 

Soap had a lot of feelings about that. 

The two of them circled around each other, both of them masked but wearing much less clothing. There was also the fact that there were no bright lights or makeup to obscure them. 

Soap recorded their performance and watched them. 

Ghost grabbed Roach suddenly and spun him, Roach’s legs going around his waist as they moved. They separated and Roach started to dance along the beams with Ghost all but chasing him. Roach grabbed one of the silks and jumped out of Ghost’s grasp, slowly twirling. They slowed for a second, but Soap wasn’t sure if it was part of the routine. The two of them had made eye contact and they seemed to be enveloped in each other before they went back to moving. 

Their dancing was beautiful. Soap wondered if they were professional dancers or just picked it up due to their performances. Roach moved like a gymnast, twirling in the air and moving with an unearthly grace. 

Finally the song ended and Roach ended up in Ghost’s arms, the two of them just staring. 

Soap paused. He thought Alejandro, the artist they occasionally hung out with, was dating Roach. 

Well, now that he was thinking of it. Alejandro said he was dating someone in the band and Soap had just found out there were a lot more members than he thought. 

He thought so hard that he almost missed the quick kiss Roach gave Ghost’s cheek before stepping away and looking at Soap. 

Soap gave him a thumbs up and cut off the recording. He then drew a mockup of the general lines of motion, making them a little big so if there were slight deviances, the designs would still follow their movements. 

Soap sat on the couch in the back stage area and started to draw. They moved around him and occasionally one of them would look at what he was doing, give criticism and then keep going. He kinda thought that should’ve gave him more instructions if they had opinions but so far all Ghost said was “Get creative”. So a black and white canvas that follows their movements. No theme. There would be colors. Fantastic. 

Soap tried to put… something together. He was interrupted by a tap on his shoulder by Alex.

“Want coffee?”

“Oh. Sure?”

“Good.” He handed Soap forty dollars. “Go get coffee for everyone please. I’ll text you our orders.” 

Soap stared at him but Alex was already wandering off. Look, technically everyone else seemed to also be working hard. Alex was clearly coding something, Ghost and Roach were still practicing and working on music and Rodolfo had a small pile of paperwork in front of him that he clearly needed to get done. Some of the slips of paper had giant red letters and that didn’t look promising. 

But he was also working!! What gives??

After silently fuming about it for a minutes, but ultimately deciding that Alex already gave him the money, Soap went and got the stupid coffee. Rodolfo had an iced caramel macchiato with six extra shots of espresso, Roach had a white chocolate mocha, Ghost had a shaken espresso and Alex had a black coffee. Soap stared at him for a minute to see if he was being pretentious, but he seemed to genuinely like the coffee. 

Like a freak. 

Who likes black coffee from coffeeshops? You make it at home or its just not good. 

While staring at Alex, he watched him kick his leg into the table and it bent. In Half. Not at the knee. 

Soap gagged and Alex laughed. “It’s just a prosthetic. Don’t worry.”

“How did you lose your leg?” Soap asked before wincing. “Oh, sorry. Don’t answer that.”

“Nah, it’s cool. I lost in the war.” 

Soap blinked, trying to do the mental math to think of Alex’s age versus the wars in the area.

“Not like the military. It was me, a dumpster and some raccoons.”

Soap stared at him, trying to figure out the joke here. There was a joke. What was the joke?

“Yeah… the Dumpster one. Lost two raccoons that day. What a waste. They were good dumpster diving buddies, ya know?”

“I’ve never went dumpster diving.”

“Really?” Alex looked so genuinely surprised Soap felt like he should be offended. Instead, he just walked away. 

Soap settled down with his own drink, something unfortunately low in caffeine since he had to be careful with his meds, and started working again. He wanted to get rough sketches of the animations for the background, animations would work better plus they were projecting anyway, he wanted this to be cool and impress these guys even if they were… much more… 

Alright, so they were kinda losers. Still hot though. Even the scary small one. 

The lights went out across the entire venue and Soap let out a… less than manly scream. A phone flashlight lit up in front of him and he blinked.

“Uh… Which of you is it?”

Roach tilted the light so it illuminated his face. He smiled at him and offered him his hand. Soap took it and Roach gently led him outside. It had gotten dark and only now did he realize how long he had been there. 

Roach looked at him for a moment before punching his shoulder and texting him. 

“See you tomorrow - :)”

Soap felt so giddy at having the Roach’s phone number now. “See you tomorrow. When should I come by?”

“We’ll be arriving at 12 so any time after that works.” 

Ghost, Soap could tell because who else would have a helmet with a skull on it, turned on his motorcycle and waved to them. Roach rushed over and got on the back, arms wrapping snugly around Ghost’s waist. Ghost gave a two finger salute to Soap before they both left, leaving Soap to stand there. 

Not the most eventful first day, but they would be working together for at least two weeks. Maybe longer if he could convince them to keep him around. 

Soap finally let the little freak out he had been holding in since that morning in.

There’s several differences between my Jack and canon Miko that I feel like highlighting just so people don’t mistake them for ‘the same personality:’

They’re both reckless idiots, but while Miko puts herself and others in danger to get in on the action and try to prove herself, Jack does so because he feels personally responsible for the wellbeing of other people- especially those he cares about. It’s basically a situation of acting on an inferiority complex vs a hero complex.

Jack makes way more absurd and borderline idiotic decisions than Miko: jumping off of speeding motorcycles, licking spilled chemical samples off the floor to try and identify its properties without a scanner, trying to ingest laundry detergent to build immunity, digging through the trash for spare parts, throwing himself into danger multiple times just to try and do the jobs of the other Autobots- he puts himself in harm’s way a LOT.

You know that ‘exaggerated swagger of a black teen’ meme? Yeah- that’s season 1 Jack in a nutshell. Bro’s an unchecked theater kid on top of being a mad scientist- if Ratchet thought Miko was bad, this Jack would be enough to give him an aneurysm.

“Oh, you look like you’re having fun! What are you doing?” “eating laundry detergent” *panicking “NOW WHY IN THE NAME OF PRIMUS WOULD YOU EVEN-”

He’d definitely insult Miko’s hair, too. Like- he’d take one look at the pigtail and rat-tail combo coupled with the razor-cut scene bangs and instantly think: “That is the most ghetto sh█t I’ve ever seen in my entire life.” He’d be acting like he didn’t try to cut his hair with a cosplay sword on his own back when he was twelve.

Their definitions of punk are very different, too. Wild outfits, speed metal, loud music and American pop culture are primarily what Miko thinks of punk culture. Jack holds a philosophy similar to Hobie- that being punk is doing whatever you like to do and doing right by what you believe, even if it irritates other people. He takes the sentence ‘freedom is the right of all sentient beings’ and makes it a creed that he lives by.

He applies this trait to the other Autobots as well- he doesn’t ‘other’ them into separate categories and solely think of them as war machines. He recognizes their capabilities and their strength, sure- but he also recognizes how much pain they’ve been through, all the mistakes they’ve made, and still chooses to see them as people worthy of being loved. That’s one of the main reasons why the Autobots develop such strong emotional connections with him.

The death of Jack’s father absolutely destroyed him to the point where he doesn’t really value his life anymore. Like- at all. He’s so willing to throw away his own livelihood, compress himself into a box and try to cover every single one of his insecurities and shortcomings entirely on his own just so he can feel secure about the fact that people don’t have to worry about him anymore.

The worst part is- by the time Season 3 rolls around, Jack is so critical of his own flaws and mistakes that he genuinely believes that every bad thing that has ever happened to the Autobots is his fault and that it would be better if he never existed.

This one’s a no-brainer: Miko’s terrified of spiders- Jack thinks they’re cute.

If he was present during the ‘band practice’ scene, once Miko starts shredding on the guitar he’d start singing all of his favorite Celestial Odyssey OST’s to his little heart’s content. No doubt about it.

This is the first time I genuinely believe that I have ADHD. Before this I kind of thought I could maybe have it but now I feel pretty sure. Like, I've been reading about it for ages (papers and stuff, not tiktok dw lol) and wayy too many things line up for it to be a coincidence y'know?

The only issue is that I don't really know what to do now. The waiting list for a diagnosis is super long, and I'm not sure if I really need it? I think I'll be fine without meds (does that mean I'm faking?), it's mainly accommodations and stuff I'm worried about. I was just wondering if there was a 'next step' I'm supposed to be taking.

There isn't really an official next step. What you do depends on what you need.

Typically, you can't get accommodations without an official diagnosis, but I think there are some things you can do without that. The main problem will be that you wouldn't have any legal means to support your claim if your employer or school decided not to give you the accommodations you request.

You may be able to access an ADHD Coach without a diagnosis, and that can be really useful since their job is to help you develop systems and mechanisms so you can manage your symptoms better. Be careful when selecting a coach, though; it's not a regulated profession, so literally anyone can call themselves a coach. (I could, even, but I don't because I've never done any training specific to life coaching or ADHD coaching.) I would recommend looking for someone who has done training through IACT https://www.iactcenter.com/ because it's specific to ADHD and the person who developed the program really knows her stuff (and has ADHD).

For accommodations, I'd recommend figuring out exactly what you might require, and then thinking about how that could be logically applied without requiring official accommodations.

For example, if you have trouble meeting deadlines, flexibility would be an accommodation. But if you don't qualify for that, what are some things you can do to deal with that? Maybe setting interim deadlines for various steps so that your final step is earlier than the actual deadline could help. Maybe someone who's better at this stuff could remind you of deadlines on a regular basis.

Another example: If you don't always remember things you need to do based on a meeting, you might take notes during the meeting and then send an e-mail to your supervisor afterwards that summarizes your notes and requests clarification, so they can tell you if you missed anything. (Bonus: this can also help with any communication issues that may be happening, because it creates documentation to show that you're doing your best/not actually the one to blame.)

One more: Almost anything can be a fidget toy, so if you need to be able to fidget, do your best to use something that will give you the sensory input you need without bothering other people. Lots of things can do what you need without being disruptive, such as crochet or knitting during meetings or movies. If, on the other hand, you need to be shielded from sensory input, you can ask about using headphones or airpods to listen to music to help you focus in an open office environment, you can keep a cardigan in your desk in case the air conditioning is too strong, etc.

The idea is that you would go to your instructor or manager and say that you've noticed that X and Y is difficult for you, and you were wondering if you could start doing A or B so you can make sure you're doing the best job you can. "I'm having trouble following staff meetings, and I've noticed that if I knit during movies I can focus really well. Would it be a problem for me to bring my knitting to staff meetings?" "I know sometimes I forget what we've agreed on. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to take notes when we're discussing things, and I wanted to ask if I can send you an e-mail afterwards to check that I didn't miss anything?" "Our office is really busy, and I have trouble focusing on my work when people are talking near my desk. I'd like to listen to music on headphones when I'm trying to focus, especially when I'm on a tight deadline. Would that be okay?"

Honestly I hate how the fandom logic of "I like this villain but only bad people like villains and I know I am a good person therefore this villain isn't evil just misunderstood" has pervaded Jekyll and Hyde fanon on Tumblr.com because I believe a lot of (popular) fan versions of Hyde are beyond boring. They're not villains, just a nebulous "naughty", a man that has the aesthetic of evil but lacks the guts to enact it, the sort of person that calls their impulse to eat chips "intrusive thoughts".

The "not evil just misunderstood" route is VERY hard to apply to Mr. Hyde because, as a character, he IS evil, very evil, and impossible to misunderstand once his true nature is made evident- all he is is visible. He can't conceal his evil even if he tries.

That doesn't mean he can't be complex or sympathetic (and in my opinion he is both those things), but in the eyes of the fandom, complex and sympathetic = good person, or at least, non-evil person... so that makes Hyde go from a terrifyingly tangible incarnation of what happens when you repress the darkness and never work to fix it... to a """"chaos gremlin"""" that is violent but not too violent, murderous but not too bloody, weird but unlikeable, off-putting but not unpleasant.

I think that The Glass Scientists -a somewhat Tumblr popular adaptation that can be described as loose at best- poisoned the fanon well to a point by taking a clumsily executed "not evil just misunderstood" route with Hyde (...which I don't really get since in the concept art stage, Hyde was very much a straight up irredeemable villain, even if he also was a comedic relief character). The gothic literature fandom is, sadly, fond of its fandom groupthink. If this adaptation, which we collectively see as good (note the "see"; I personally don't think TGS is a good adaptation in part because of that very OOC depiction of Mr. Hyde), does this, then we can do it too!

Funnily enough, the fandom also likes murderous, irredeemable Hydes like the MazM version -a complete bastard that is implied to sexually assault a woman at some point- and the musical version -a complete bastard that EXPLICITLY sexually assaults, abuses, AND kills a woman-... but it can be explained away by a simple fact: MazM and musical Hyde are conventionally attractive. TGS Hyde, who was often hailed as the most accurate adaptation there could be back in the day, is also conventionally attractive (...but he wasn't in his concept art stage, in which, I reiterate, he was genuinely evil and frightening).

Compare and contrast with LXG movie Hyde, whose personality is a carbon copy from the original's, down to the speech patterns, but is hated across the fandom for not having a book accurate design (and for being ugly... like his book counterpart).

I feel like the fandom has fallen into the trap Jekyll would have wanted you to fall into: assuming that, because he's handsome, and "nice", he is without fault.

So, Hyde's evil is in character and a trait like any other if Hyde is handsome, but if he is ugly like he was in the book, or if the adaptation -wrongly- takes it one step further and gives him a facial difference (which I will agree, is pretty fucked up), then Hyde's evil is totally out of character and overblown and exaggerated and Not At All What He Was Like In The Book (in which, as we all know, he was just a misunderstood weird guy that just so happened to have bad vibes! everybody pity him!).

Im gonna start with a thought that's banging its way out of my head: when the 3 of you are cuddling, Zed and Shen take turns being the little spoon (the one in the middle)!!! And they fight about it!!!

Which is incredibly funny because Shen will be getting ready to be in the middle, stop and say he doesn't want to be cuddled by Zed, who'll sigh and say he knows he's lying but then he also doesn't want to cuddle Shen, because he's too stubborn, and you'll have to remind them that you can just be the little spoon

And they'd be quiet because... they wanted to be the ones in the middle... cuddled by both his lovers...

Nights with them would be a game of musical chairs with everyone changing places round and about

Kayn would stop in his tracks when you pass, genuinely worried he'd offend you somehow and anger Zed, and Akali (before she left the kinkou) would stare at you with respect

(Shen is a little terrified at the idea of the Kinkou finding out about your relationship, but Zed thinks it would be just a little funny, though way too messy, which is why the 3 of you agreed on keeping things partially a secret)

If you're from one specific order, the other one wouldn't interfere on your training, but if you're not... damn, those 2 would FIGHT to train you, wanting to teach you what they know! And how they do things!

On that note, you would often have to tell them to shut the fuck up and stop bickering, because they will bicker a lot

Remember I said you'd just have to call Zed Usan to tease him?... well it 100% applies in the sexual scenario too, and then Shen does it too... you too can be little shits when it comes to teasing Zed

In fact, Zed tends to get a more controlling role in the sexual part of the relationship, but Shen likes to push back just because he doesn't like to admit que enjoys Zed being in control

Zed really loves to watch, and no amount of pride or bickering or anything would stop him from making it very clear

Which Shen would try to convince you to do, out of spite (his whole detached thing is always tested when it comes to you and Zed) and the thrill of it, knowing you two are doing something "wrong"

On the other hand Shen wouldn't really mind to not be included, he has a significantly lower sex drive than Zed, so it doesn't matter to him if you and Zed have sex more than you and him, or him and Zed

Sometimes, when they both have time, because they are busy men, they would take the day or night to worship you. You wouldn't be allowed to move a muscle, just lay there and take whatever they give you

Despite them having different ways to show love and appreciation, that moment is one in which they are in perfect sync and make you feel like the most loved and desired person in all of Runeterra

Shen is pretty much an oral kind of guy, so their favorite position with you would be you on all 4 and Zed taking you from the back while Shen uses your mouth

(just the ones I have thought about)

gregory plays clarinet + musical theater. he prefers musical theater but also just likes doing plays. as you may expect, he practices incessantly and as a result is the best in his band class, (which may have also had something to do with his prior musical experience at yardale.) whenever there is a solo to be gotten, the teacher makes it out to be a huge surprise whenever they select the soloist, but nobody is ever surprised and likely groan when gregory is selected.

wendy plays clarinet too, also playing it quite well, although not as excessively as gregory does. same with musical theater. she’s fairly good at singing in the sense of being in key nearly all the time, and having a strong voice, and competent on stage. she has a lot of interest in common with gregory in the music field, hence their friendship. (I’ve had an idea floating around in my brain of wendy auditioning for belle and grwgory gaston in beauty and the beast xDD) shes also one of the best in the band room and practices frequently.

christophe likely would never want to do any kind of musical anything on his own, although gregory would convince him to join band eventually. he would either join clarinet with gregory, or bassoon. he isn’t particularly good, but not completely lost. he’s maybe at the upper lower end of the”where he needs to be” in band class. I think that grwgory would slowly convince him to join musical theater with him,, but christophe being christophe he would never act on stage, so he would opt for backstage crew.

as for pip, he plays flute and sings in choir. he isn’t amazing at flute, but he’s overall pretty solid. I think he would just be absolutely overjoyed by being able to play that he doesn’t even care if he isn’t very good. he just genuinely likes to play flute, which is why he practices quite frequently. (although not very effectively.) same applies for choir, he just genuinely enjoys singing even though he isn’t THAT good at it. like he isnt bad at it, but his singing isn’t what you would call good either. little fella just having the time of his life in there:DD

i honestly think that estella probably wouldn’t do anything musical at all, but if she did it would be cello. she just seems like a cello kind of person idk. she can play it pretty up to speed. like not incredible but like to the point where she can get irritated whenever people are struggling real bad, which is very common in their orchestra class. she has like six packs on her eyeballs from rolling her eyes at this point. (i feel like all the strings would also be atrocious)

damien would go with alto sax (the one i play :D) or viola. he would also do piano but most schools don’t have piano :’) (atleast mine doesn’t.) his dad wanted him to have some form of extracurriculars but he is too antisocial for sports so his dad insisted on an instrument. whenever guests come over damien is hoping and praying that his dad doesn’t remember he can play an instrument :’) (“did you know that damien is learning an instrument at school? oh my gosh!! he’s gotten so good!!! damien, you should play something for them!!” “*whisper yelling after damien refuses* damien! show our guests your skills!”)

rebecca would do piano, (if it’s available) or violin. she already took violin lessons so she chose that one so she was less lost when she joined mid way through the year. (not that she couldn’t learn it in her own really fadt, bc she totally could, but she has social anxiety.) in the off chance that her parents make her try something new, she would play oboe. Idk her personality js seems like an oboe idk how to describe it :’) she would be really good at it and one of the better players in the room.

mark would also opt for piano if the school offers it, but if not he would go for the French horn because he thinks it’s cool. also he really likes the way it looks, and also he didn’t want to do one of the instruments he already knew because that’s boring. he would get up to speed pretty fast and end up one of the best in the french horn section, which pisses a lot of people off who couldn’t even get that good in the time before mark& rebecca came to the school.

so like these are just the characters who i rlly thought about whenever the hell i came up with the musical idea,, so I might make more. js lmk if you want any particular character/ hc or anything abt the characters in music

What’s wild is I believe Charlotte IS in an open relationship but can only be open with girls. 👀 Said so in some podcast.

Charlotte seems as bad as Kaia, if not worse! There’s tons of rumors about how she’s rude to fans and I’m sorry, she has a genuinely gorgeous voice but half of her music is Billie Eillish ripoffs and/or basic girl sh!t. She’s the biggest try hard in her music industry (that most people have never heard of 😂🤪) She even had access to the best producers and songwriters and she could only come up with mid songs.

Not to mention, she’s a failed nepo model. I think Kaia is sometimes good and sometimes awful, but I’ll give it to her that she looks like a model. Charlotte does not. AND she has the deadest eyes and lamest poses. Her family and management have failed to make fetch happen even more than Kaia (cuz Kaia is semi known outside of gen z ppl who live on the internet and for better or for worse, has been in bigger profile projects). But Charlotte reeks of thinking she’s gods gift when she’s not even close. Just a generic girl with generic looks who has a rich, famous, powerful family.

Also, Charlotte and Kaia were on some podcast (Take Your Shoes Off…I think) where they did faux deep girl shit talking about dating older men and doing drugs (more Charlotte than Kaia in that convo, to be totally fair) and it was so asinine and lacked self awareness. And then they had to go bc they had dinner reservations despite that it was THE HEIGHT OF THE PANDEMIC. They pretend to champion for social causes but never social distanced bc they thought the rules didn’t apply to them.

A lot of ppl have been famous for nothing but this current crop is the most ridiculous, least talented, least charismatic, and most tone deaf.

PS- Both of these girls have been using each other for clout for years. Both has posted kissing photos and take queer baiting photos in bikinis. Who raised these girls?

this honestly doesn't surprise me one bit. the people you surround yourself with is a direct reflection of who you are. so seems like they are in good company with each other. the idiocy and brain rot of this new generation is gnarly to watch in real time, especially those who are born into privilege and are clearly not brought up with good morals.

“People think they know what Call Me When You’re Sober is about… I do generally write about the people around me, but I also write [so] different situations in my life can be applied [to songs later]. LEARN FROM THE BEST

“I recently did a song with Dave Stewart from Eurythmics. We did a cover of [The Everly Brothers’] Love Hurts. Something cool I learnt from Dave was that he comes from an era where you really have to make choices. I came through being really inspired by that 90s wall of guitars, like Smashing Pumpkins; we throw so many combinations and tracks at the wall until we find something cool. Dave would see that he needed a guitar and quickly find that knack of finding that sound – three guitar tracks, one take of two of them, and three takes of the third one, and it was done! You can stack and stack and stack, but then you start to lose the unique quality that is just that one thing. If you make the choice, you hear it.”

BROADEN YOUR HORIZONS AS FAR AND WIDE AS YOU CAN

“I really love contrast. I think that you can hear that in our music. So with a lot of the artists that I love, in the same vein as us, it’s hard to find someone I want to collaborate with. It’s when you find the biggest differences that you find the new colour. What that would be next, I don’t know; I have an open mind. My true favourite thing that came out of the pandemic was this comic called Bo Burnham. He’s a genius! Evanescence and comedy… it doesn’t seem like it would work, but it might work for Amy Lee! How cool for him to be so real on such a profound level. If he wasn’t, it wouldn’t be so funny.”

I’D DO ANYTHING TO WORK WITH TIM BURTON

“I love Tim Burton, but I’ve never been able to meet him. I got to meet Danny Elfman – he had me come over to his house. As a musician I’m a fan of both of them. I wanted to learn more about Danny’s process! I would love to meet Tim Burton, but there would have to be a reason, there would need to be the right project, the right film. That would be a moment where you could just print up the tombstone. It’s his contrast; everything is like a cartoon, the colours are like a dream of life, like a painting that’s come to life. But, in addition, there is this part that is grief, or pain, or something really messed up that seems to come from a child’s perspective. Which, having been through grief as a child, I really relate to.”

CHANNEL YOUR GRIEF INTO SOMETHING POSITIVE…

“When you’re hurting, you grab on to anything that helps. That’s why addiction is so high in people who are grieving. Music has been that addiction for me, a positive addiction, when you feel something so strong that it has to come out of your body. Sing it, paint it, express it. Art for me is always the way to get those things out, I don’t feel the same just talking about it.”

… AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO FEEL

“My sister died when I was six, and it was just me and my parents again, and in that moment, I went into a mode of wanting to protect my parents’ hearts. I didn’t allow myself a lot of outward grief, I didn’t want to add to their pain. So, my inner voice – the time I spent with myself and the things that I would create – became this very dear friend to me. It was only years later that I realised I could take those things and turn them into something healing.”

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE BEING PART OF AN ORCHESTRA

“I love working with all different musicians and artists, the classical world works in so many different ways. It’s strict; they’re on a schedule and if you go over, it’s over. It’s terrifying, but exciting! You’re working with these high-level musicians who have done their work, they can read music, and it just feels like a tightrope – at any moment it could come crashing down. You’re not tied down to a click track, you’re working to the movements of the conductor’s baton. The energy created by the focus makes it so gratifying when the sound comes out. So many pieces, so many people, all creating one tiny fraction, making something so much bigger than myself… it’s really special.”

this is soo jungkook stans’ core. describes us all 😀 he’s the solution. sad? jungkook. feeling down? jungkook. lonely? jungkook. depressed? we got jungkook. happy? because of jungkook. truly this applies to all 7 of them (our happy pills ♡) i’m so happy that they exist in this world and got united as a team and reach their dreams together. istg i wouldn’t know where and who i’d run to if i feel all on those negative emotions if i don’t have them… yes, i have friends and family, but idk i just don’t want to pour all of those negativity towards them and make them see me all sad and depressed 🙃 ofc if they got too bad, i talk to my mom about it, but as for like sad and lonely (the ones that can come frequently from day to day), just watch some tannies contents and ✨boom✨*cured* :]

honestly i don’t know if it’s okay to feel this way about them, sometimes i’m scared of loving them too much that most of the times, being happy is something that depends on them. but at the same time, i know it’s because that they’re genuinely want to make us happy. like ‘happy’ is what they want to make us feel when we listen to their songs or think about them. so again, most of the times i just say “fuck it. happy is happy, no matter the source it comes from. who wants to be sad all the time? use bts to be happy”

i used to kind of feel this way before, especially at the height of the pandemic, but as i was getting to know the tannies in a much deeper level, i started seeing it in a brighter light. i think of the reasons the tannies has formed a strong bond with us because they are fans themselves, and they understand fan culture. they always talk highly of their favorite artists and how they inspired their dreams, motivated them to keep going when life was a storm. in the suchwita episode with tablo, yoongi talked about how he listens to epik high’s entire discography when he’s feeling drained with a lot of worries. it also makes me think of joon, who went to a museum one day because he was feeling bored in his hotel, and now his house is a museum in itself. and that one time when he talked about how he cried looking at a black and red and white painting because he thought the artist must’ve been feeling the same emotions he was having at that time. and he hopes his music can do the same for us.

of course there is always a line not to be crossed! but a part of life is discovering joy in the world around us (food nature sports arts media and all that jazz) and it just so happens that we find that very often in humans <3 after all, we are a mosaic of everyone and everything we’ve ever loved 🥹
